Everything worked fine with the car rental, the whole rental process was smooth and the staff was very friendly. What I found very strange is that with Europcar you have to pay an extra amount of around 12 EUR per day (!) for the whole time of the rental if you plan to drive into Spain, even if it's only on one day during the rental time. So if you rent the car for 9 days and plan to visit Spain on one or two days, you have to pay 9x12 EUR extra. They told me that to prevent this one should make two separate rentals, one for the days in Portugal and a separate one for those days I plan to drive into Spain. In my opinion that's not very user friendly at all, specially when you don't know yet, in which part of the rental you want to go to Spain.
-- The only issue we had was with "full tank"/gas. After driving less than 3km, our "full tank" dropped by one bar. Meaning they didnt give us a car with full tank. Later they blamed it on other customers who dont return the car with full tank. The gas station is less than 2 minutes drive from the car rental company. How about your staff driving the returned cars there making sure that if you tell customers "you are getting a car with full tank", they actually get a car with a full tank? ;) ++ Service is very friendly and fast. The car was clean and in a very good condition. Location of the car rental is close to the city center. We booked online and it went well with the car pick up and return.

Worst customer service ever. Least professional service ever. The lady was rude even though she was wrong. We booked a car from 8am and after arriving at pick up location the lady advised us that the car wasn’t available. She said she saw the booking the same morning and decided to postpone until 11am because “it was a last minute booking” without even notifying us. Would give 0 stars if it was an option

Very quick pickup, the ladies on the check out counter were very pleasant to deal with. We had one problem with opening the petrol cap and when we returned to the office the gentleman showed us how to open and close it very quickly. We didn't have to wait at all to pick up the car, it was waiting and was very clean inside and out. The lady at checkout marked all the dents etc on a sheet which we got a copy of. We prefer the method where you return the car full of fuel, this is by far the best way. Altogether a quick pick up and drop off service.
Fairly standard Europcar office. Understaffed when I went in with only one front of house rep doing paperwork and showing people to cars meaning I had to wait 45 minutes. Not very friendly or helpful on either pickup or drop off, although they do get an extra star for finding a small scratch on return that I hadn’t noticed, but on checking their computer admitted was already there before I picked it up.

Wat een verschrikkelijk onbekwaam lui personeel, die echt heel erg goed is in vergeten informatie te geven, incorrecte informatie en een vriendelijke klanten service is ook ver te zoeken. Dit blijkt ook wel want voor ze überhaupt wat gedaan hebben vragen ze aan de balie voor een positieve recensie. Terwijl ze ons vergat informatie mee te geven over hoe je een electrische auto laad, dat het dus niet goedkoper is als een bezine auto want met de app waar je het mee moet doen betaal je rond de 55 euro om je batterij op te laden. De auto geeft aan hiermee 330 km te kunnen rijden. Even van Albufeira naar Lagos en hopala de batterij is leeg. 17 procent over. Dan zijn de meeste laadpunten niet geschikt voor de app en heb je er een chip of kaart voor nodig. Niet gekregen. Auto was niet goed schoon gemaakt. Huur geen electrische auto maar een bezine of diesel. Veel goedkoper. En wij hebben niet eens grote afstanden gereden. Juist omdat het laden echt tijdrovend en geld stelend is. De app wil een 15 euro voor de electriciteit dan 20 euro voor de app en dan 20 voor de oplaad paal en dan nog belasting en BAM opeens is dus electrisch rijden helemaal niet meer zo leuk. Slecht geïnformeerd en echt een hele slechte klantenservice. Oh ja Revolut word niet geaccepteerd. Dus als je booked over een ander platform als bij hun zelf word dit niet vermeld. Probeer ergens anders te huren als je kan.

Kann ich mit ruhigem Gewissen empfehlen, schnelle Übergabe sowie Rückgabe gutes Fahrzeug sehr angenehme Mitarbeiter habe in Portugal immer ein Auto von Europcar bin niemals enttäuscht gewesen ( gebucht über ADAC )
Sehr gute Autovermietung und sehr faire Preise, insbesondere wenn man bedenkt, dass die Maut inklusive ist. Nach Lissabon und zurück sind es 45 . Und es gibt hier die volle Versicherung ohne Selbstbeteiligung.
Ich habe kürzlich ein Auto bei Europcar Albufeira gemietet und bin absolut begeistert. Der gesamte Prozess war reibungslos und unkompliziert. Die Online-Buchung war einfach und die Auswahl an Fahrzeugen war vielseitig. Bei der Abholung wurde ich von einem freundlichen und kompetenten Mitarbeiter begrüßt, der mir alle notwendigen Informationen gab und sicherstellte, dass ich mit dem Fahrzeug vertraut war. Das Auto selbst war in einwandfreiem Zustand, sauber. Die Rückgabe des Fahrzeugs verlief ebenfalls problemlos und schnell. Ich werde definitiv wieder bei Europcar mieten und kann sie jedem nur wärmstens empfehlen!
Empresa com uma falta de respeito muito grande com cliente, reservei um carro para as 08:30 e eu chegando la me avisaram que o carro seria para as 10:30 e que tinha me enviado um email. O email foi enviado para mim com as informações que tinha alterado o horário as 08:43 eu ja no local. E eu precisando entrar no trabalho as 09:00, invés de me darem alternativa no mesmo valor disseram que teria que pagar a mais. Sem preocupar com os prejuizo que terei por chegar atrasado no trabalho e reuniões que tinha marcado. Nem se preocupam em resolver situações que é erro da empresa , simplesmente quiseram me colocar como errado por ter feito a reserva depois do horário e disseram que não tem carro porque abrem as 08:30 então que abrem as 08:00 ou mudem o horário de reresva para as 09:00 que eu não tenho nada haver com os vossos problemas se fiz a reserva para as 08:30 é o horário que preciso e não para 10:30. Simplesmente ridículo o sistema da empresa e não é atoa que tem varia reclamações. Vou procurar meus direito por danos morais .

Nos dieron un Fiat 500. Para dos personas es un coche muy cómodo para moverse por la zona; y consume muy poco. Viene con un dispositivo para el pago de los peajes por el que pagas un importe casi simbólico, además del coste de los peajes, y que te evita problemas con los mismos. El coche, aunque era casi nuevo, tenía roces y marcas poco apreciables. Nos dijeron que las marcas superficiales no eran relevantes. Efectivamente, no lo fueron a la hora de devolver el coche. Lo del seguro del coche si que es un poco lioso, pero los seguros siempre lo son. Dudo que un coche de alquiler tenga un seguro a todo riesgo sin franquicia que lo cubra todo, ya que aprovechándose de ello habría usuarios que se les podría dar por jugar a los choques de choque con él con total impunidad, por lo que no lo veo viable. Ante las dudas recomiendo leer la letra pequeña (yo no lo hice). Contratamos el seguro medio, aunque al devolver el coche sin ningún daño en este aspecto no tuvimos ningún problema. Si que hay diferencias en cuanto a disponibilidad, el precio y el tipo de seguro a la hora de reservarlo físicamente o por la web. Nos decantamos por reservar por la web, y después concretar coberturas físicamente. En este sentido creo que hay que dejarse llevar por lo que te dicen los empleados. Por último comentar que al alquilar un vehículo se debe revisar que el mismo no tenga desperfectos y el depósito esté lleno. Si no es así solicitar, antes de recepcionarlo, que quede reflejado en el acta de entrega del vehículo antes de firmarla. En resumen, nos facilitaron un coche idóneo para poder disfrutar de nuestras vacaciones, y no tuvimos ningún problema. Hemos quedado muy contentos con el servicio.

Alles lief reibungslos. Uns wurde die Abrechnung und das ganze Prozedere ausführlich und mit Geduld erklärt. Wir hatten sogar Glück und haben ein kostenloses Upgrade auf ein größeres Auto bekommen. Das ganze Personal war sehr freundlich. Aus unserer Sicht können wir Europcar nur weiterempfehlen.

Fahrzeug Citroen C3 über TUI vorab gebucht. Abholung sehr einfach. Rückgabe im Hotel. Hat alles super geklappt. Manko für mich war nur, das kein Deutsch gesprochen wurde. Fahrzeug war sehr gut ausgestattet. Navi vorhanden. Google Maps ging auch. Preis war auch o.k. gerne wieder.

Nós damos deixar o veículo e a loja estava fechada. Nós não podíamos esperar, pois tínhamos agendado trem para a Lisboa às 14:38. Nós deixamos o veículo intacto e a chave na porta da agência. Eu confesso que custo acreditar que numa cidade turística como Albufeira, com 4 pessoas trabalhando, eles fecham para o almoço. Uma dúvida ou sugestão, rodízio de funcionários resolveria essss problema. Eu tenho todas as filmagens e fotos deixa o carro no horário.

Location éffectuée pour une période de 4 jours. Lors de la réservation, le véhicule choisi cétait un Citroën C4 Spacetourer, avec 7 places, ou similaire, avec espace pour 2 valises dans le coffre. Au moment du retrait, on moctroie une Dacia Jogger 7 places (pas de Citroën disponible) Mettre ces deux véhicules dans la même catégorie cest une erreur TRÈS grossière. Mise à part le nombre de places (très étroites dans la Dacia), rien nest comparable entre les deux. La C4 est spacieuse, confortable et dispose dun espace considérable dans le coffre. La Dacia dispose de 7 places, mais le confort nest absolument pas du tout le même. Le coffre, une fois les deux places supplémentaires déployées, ne peut accueillir que deux ou trois sacs à dos, mais pas de valise. Étant donné que nous avions deux valises et quelques sacs à dos, jai dû demander un changement de véhicule. Sauf que trouver un véhicule vraiment spacieux à la dernière minute cest très compliqué. Heureusement, le personnel de lagence (notamment Claudia) a fait tout son possible pour résoudre mon problème. Moyennant un supplément, jai pu repartir avec une Mercedes Vito qui pouvait accueillir toute la troupe. Malgré ce petit contre-temps au départ, je suis très satisfait de mon expérience chez Europcar.

I had a great experience renting from europcar albufeira. My rental car was brand new. I payed an extra 30 euros for full cover just in case of any damage, i think it was worth it just to have the peace of mind, especially when it was my first time driving on the other side of the road . The staff, I must say, were very professional and friendly , answered any questions I had , and I wanted to keep the car for an extra day that was done with ease and within minutes I was back on the road hunting down the famous peri peri chicken in Guia .
I rented a car in March 2024. We have a small Fiat 500 car. I was well received both for the rental, the perception and the return of the car. No problem

NO ARRENDAR AUTO EN ESTE LUGAR! Ofrecen un precio que van incrementando cuando uno tiene que pagar, hasta ahí aceptamos y luego nos pidieron un depósito de 100 euros para combustible (por si no dejábamos el auto lleno). El auto se nos entregó con dos líneas menos y nosotros devolvimos igual. Nos dijeron que estaba todo perfecto y al día siguiente me encuentro con la sorpresa de que nos habían cobrado 70 euros más por combustible!! Al ir a reclamar primero negaron el error y no quisieron devolver nada, hasta que finalmente asumieron su culpa. Han pasado 3 días y aún no nos devuelven nuestro dinero. Finalmente el arriendo del auto que decía sería por 60 euros los 2 días nos está constando 400 euros casi. ( por depósitos y cobros que aún no nos devuelven) Por lejos el peor lugar donde he rentado auto y los empleados están coludidos con la estafa! Le pongo 1 estrella porque no puedo darle 0! No vayan a perder su dinero!!

Agréablement surprise davoir trouvé une voiture en allant directement sur place. Voiture très bien ! MAIS le service manque dhumanité et pourtant nous avons parlé avec 3 personnes différentes... Nous navons pas eu de propositions concrètes concernant différentes assurances mais plutôt lobligation de prendre la plus chère... Nous ne reviendrons pas.

After spending thousands of euros at Europacar businesses, Worst car rental ever. Gave me a dirty car. When I went to return it, they had the audacity to accuse me of dirtying the car and are trying to charge my credit card. An employee Tiago Silva was extremely aggressive over my car having two strands of white dog hair in the back, disrespecting me, in front of my wife, my daughter and my mother, and being highly aggressive with me for no reason. The manager then followed suit and demeaned me and degraded me over the same issue claiming the car was clean when she didnt see the condition of the car when I picked it as she wasent even working that day, even though the car comes with a complimentary cleaning service, requires less than 5 minutes detailing until it looks like new. I was not afforded this basic courtesy and respect every client deserves, and now they want me to pay to clean it for another clients use so they can pad their bottom line. Bizarre and highly unprofessional. I will not use them again and I would highly recommend avoiding at all costs clearly this facility is in desperate need of a staff and facility overhaul, as it is run out of a temporary building, I just ask that they dont unjustly come after returning clients like myself with fabricated claims and costs. Think thats pretty fair.
Terrible Experience: Overcharged and Unhappy I recently rented a car from this place and was thoroughly disappointed with the entire experience. Not only was the customer service lacking, but I was also overcharged for my rental, leaving me feeling frustrated and taken advantage of. First and foremost, the staff was incredibly unhelpful and seemed disinterested in providing any form of assistance. When I raised concerns about the overcharging issue, they were dismissive and unapologetic, showing a complete lack of professionalism. Furthermore, the pricing was completely misleading. What was initially quoted to me as a reasonable rate quickly ballooned into an exorbitant bill, with hidden fees and charges seemingly added at every turn. It felt like a bait-and-switch tactic designed to deceive unsuspecting customers. To make matters worse, attempts to resolve the issue after the fact were met with resistance and further incompetence from the management team. Instead of rectifying the situation and providing a satisfactory resolution, they seemed intent on deflecting blame and avoiding responsibility. Overall, my experience with Europcar Albufeira was nothing short of a nightmare. I would strongly advise anyone considering renting from them to proceed with extreme caution or, better yet, choose a more reputable and trustworthy company. Save yourself the headache and hassle of dealing with dishonest practices and subpar service.

Einwandfreier Ablauf in der Anmietung, Nutzung und Rückgabe des gemieteten Autos. Sehr nette Kundenberatung.
Vor Ort wurde mir ein dreifach teurer Preis genannt, als online angegeben. Als ich mich dazu entschieden habe online zu buchen, wurden die Mitarbeiter unfreundlich. Anfangs teilte man mir mit, das Auto in meiner Preisklase, ist nicht verfügbar. Als ich es dann online gebucht habe, war es auf einmal verfügbar. Allerdings musste ich eine Stunde warten. Danach wollten Sie auf einmal meine Kreditkarte nicht akzeptieren, obwohl sie über die App problemlos angenommen wurde. Alles in allem, viel Stress für nichts. Wahrscheinlich bleibe ich auf den Gebühren sitzen, ohne das Fahrzeug ausleihen zu können. Habe jetzt die Zentrale vie Mail kontaktiert. Mal sehen was passiert. Hatte noch nie eine solche unangenehme Person bei der Autovermietung angetroffen. Total nicht hilfsbereit.

Do not rent from here, staff are extremely rude especially manager!! They charged me 95 euros for a no show fee even though I showed up and they refused to rent me the car, I will never use Europcar ever again!!!
After booking online, I was coldly turned away on site. They charged a cancellation fee of 50 because my Visa credit card had the word debit on it. Another landlord accepted my credit card without any problems. Not even tried at Europcar!!!
Unfortunately not customer friendly. We booked (and also payed) a car in advance. When we came there we had to wait nearly one hour (!) just to be told that they needed a physical credit card. We have a debit card which combines both (credit and debit) but they did not want to accept even though we had already paid for the car. (Side note: we have booked cars with this card before in the past). If you do not have a physical credit card, go to Sixt, you do not need one there.

Worst car rental experience of my life, if you are reading this, do not use this company as they will steal your money and take no responsibility! I booked a car and then received an email several hours later to cancel booking as no cars available. I requested a different vehicle but received no reply, so I called into the office to check. They confirmed all vehicles were fully booked and referred me to AVIS. Later on, Europcar emailed me a booking confirmation for a different vehicle (without my permission) and have since charged me a no show fee and refusing to refund me. I called into their office to query, they confirmed my booking should not have gone through but could not do anything about it there and pawned me off with a UK email address! This constitutes nothing short of robbery and we are considering next steps.

J ai réservé une voiture pour 12h00 . En arrivant personnel désagréable, pas de voiture disponible, on me propose un véhicule à 16h00 . Il y avait des véhicules sur le parking, je pense que cette agence ne veut pas des réservations via Booking . Déçue et une grosse perte de temps , litige à régler . Je ne recommande pas cette agence .

Zu Beginn. Die Vermietung ist 150m weiter oben als hin angegeben, am Kreisel. Ansonsten zwei Autos gemietet, alles problemlos. Schnell, freundlich, Hinweis auf check24 Versicherung, dass man in Vorkasse gehen muss, das wars. Nächstes Mal wieder.

The chap on the desk spoke perfect english and explained everything perfectly. He was very friendly and welcoming. On return of the vehicle, another colleague who was also very friendly, explained that because we returned the vehicle half an hour early, we were due a refund on a full days rental which was a welcome surprise.

Péssima experiência, reservei o carro no site, cheguei ao local disseram me que o carro que tinha reservado não estava disponível, propuseram me um veículo de substituição quase o dobro do preço ro veículo original, disse ok porque estou de férias e não estava para me chatear, até que 10 minutos de pois o preço aumenta inexplicavelmente mais 40 euros no preço final, o que tornaria o valor do aluguer 2 vezes superior ao qual supostamente ia alugar. Não são sérios a evitar. Edit: Cereja no topo do bolo, depois desta aventura ainda recebo uma fatura de 95 euros por não ter aparecido para vir buscar o caro que eles não tinham disponivel, sinto que fui assaltado, europcar nunca mais.
We have rented 5 times with this office and each experience has been very positive. Everyone speaks English and they are helpful. Easy to get in and out and the cars are well look after.

Et soit disant je suis surclassé FreeUP! oui surclassé en diesel !bref!!
Eigentlich keinen Stern zu vergeben, da der Mitarbeiter uns keinerlei Informationen über Auto, Versicherungen, Jungfahrergebühr etc. gegeben hat. Stattdessen klatschte er uns einfach einen Zettel auf den Tresen mit einem unverschämt teuren Preis. Wir sind dann zu einer anderen Vermietung gefahren.
Sehr schlechter und unfreundlicher Service, besucht lieber andere Verleihanbieter

FORGET THIS EUROPCAR local service located They charge a full tank of gas in any case i.e whatever the current quantity at checkout. As an example, they have charged over 100 after driving less than 80 km. Additionally the prices they display is never the right prices until the payment.
Voiture louée en juillet 2022 je viens de recevoir un avis de contravention pour autoroute non payée car europcar na pas payé labonnement du boîtier permettant le payement alors que facturé lors de la remise du véhicule.. des voleurs tout simplement.. résultat majoration 125 euros au lieu de 11.50 euros .. une honte
Grundsätzlich hat mir der Vermietung zunächst alles gepasst. Wir haben ein gutes Auto bekommen und über Booking auch einen super Preis. Bei der Abholung meinte dann der Vermieter, dass wir nicht so genau hinschauen müssen. Wir haben trotzdem von allem Fotos gemacht. Bei der Abgabe des Mietwagens wollten sie uns dann anhängen, dass wir die Reifen kaputt gemacht hätten. Es wurde gefragt auf welchen Straßen wir unterwegs waren und wo wir denn das Auto abgestellt haben. Es ist eine Frechheit dies dem nächsten Mieter anzuhängen. Glücklicherweise konnten wir uns mit den Bildern retten. Tipp: Macht von jeder Kleinigkeit Fotos, dann ist es in Ordnung. Zudem war die Mitarbeiterin bei der Abgabe extrem unfreundlich.
Attention ,les véhicules libres reservé sur le site ,ne sont pas forcément disponible sur place ( selon la secrétaire ,il faudrait en parallèle envoyer un mail à lagence pour être sûr que le véhicule est disponible.le comble!!!).Ont vous propose alors un véhicule plus grand mais surtout trois fois le prix initial !! De plus , le personnel nest pas agréable !!! Agence a fuir , et recadrer vous sur une agence locale avec des prix abordables sans mauvaise surprise !!!

Nous avons réservé notre véhicule sur le site internet, le soir pour le lendemain matin, avec option « payer à la station ». Après avoir réservé, j ai lu certain commentaires/avis, qui m ont fait très peur. Arrive sur place, nous avons eu aucun problème. Le véhicule réservé n était pas le même, mais c était le même prix affiché et le véhicule répondait à notre attente. (Sur le site internet, J avais réservé une Renault Twingo; nous avons eu une Ford Fiesta). Service rapide, correct et professionnel. J ai peut-être eu de la chance. Mais je n ai rien à redire sur le service. Les voitures sont propre et en très bonne état !
Arnaque les touristes ! Agence à fuir!!! ne respecte pas le contrat , vous prennent de largent sans indications et sans motif, vous facture des dommages alors quil ny en a pas. Surtout ne vous faites pas avoir! trouvez vous une autre agence de location, jai vu énormément de commentaires similaires au mien alors fuyez tant quil en est encore temps!
Europcar Algarves Toll Fee Nightmare: Beware of Hidden Costs and Terrible Customer Service I rented a car from Europcar Algarve, opting for their toll road fee calculator device for an extra fee. A year later, I received a hefty fine for unpaid tolls and administrative costs delivered to my home address due to their error. Despite they admitted it was their fault, Europcar Algarve refused to cover the charges. Terrible customer service and accountability. I strongly advise against using their services.
We rented a car from here a year ago and purchased the toll device. Last month received a fine in the post saying that we had driven on a toll road and it hadn t been paid. An email was sent to Europcar to no response, the debt was then passed on to a collector who has sent numerous emails to us demanding the money. Further emails have been sent to Europcar regarding this issue and no contact has been made in response. Then I received a notification from my bank account that europcar portugal had attempted to take a payment of £140 from my account without any contact therefore I rejected the payment and sent europcar yet another email which is still yet to be responded to as well. Will definitely not be using europcar again, and will be continuing to persue this with them but would not recommend relying on this company

While on vacation in Albufeira, I woke up one morning wanting to see if there was the possibility to rent a convertible sports car for a few days to drive through the Algarve mountains. Having no reservation, I thought my chances were slim but thought it wouldnt hurt to stop a minute and ask. Two younger men were working that morning, and while they didnt have the car I wanted at their location, without even asking they immediately started calling other location nearby to try and find the car for me. They finally managed to find it in Faro and took care of everything for me, all I did was show up, sign a few papers, and left with the MX-5. While they were trying to get me my desired car, we took some time to discuss and have a nice chat about other cars, the cars I have at home, etc. It was overall an amazingly enjoyable experience and they made me feel welcome and appreciated, despite ending up not renting a car at their location. Driving the MX-5 was the highlight of my trip, and I have these two guys to thank for. My only regret is not getting their names so I could thank them personally in this review.
Hände weg! Ich war hier vor über einem halben Jahr und kriege noch immer irgendwelche Berechnung an meine Email und Abbuchung von meiner Kreditkarte! Eine absolute Frechheit, der Service vor Ort war schon respektlos von dem Typen der meint alles besser zu wissen, aber jetzt reicht es! 4 Rechnung in regelmäßigen Abständen obwohl alles bezahlt ist ?! Geht wohl anders hin! Und ich werde zudem meinen Anwalt einschalten. NIE WIEDER!!!
I have also received a toll road fine over a year after the car rental despite having paid for Electronic Payment Tag/Pass. I rented the car in September 2022, and now am being pursued by EPCplc for 79.97 GPB. I just spend half an hour speaking to UK customer service who was unable to find my booking despite me providing all the details from the invoice. Ill try with the customer service email and update this review if and when Europcar resolves this issue.

WORST EXPERIENCE EVER. Worst europcar I have ever seen. We had to change three times our reservation. When they finally accepted it they wouldnt let us have the car because they didnt believe we had a creditcard... We showed them multiple but still wouldnt listen. At some point the two women started screaming.

Had a great experience with Europcar. Pricing was extremely competitive and the vehicle was a newer vehicle that performed well. The flexibility provided with changes and return dates was greatly appreciated. While the staff at both locations (Albufeira and Cascais) were very professional, the Cascais staff were excellent. Very friendly and accommodating in addition to being extremely professional. Will definitely use them again next time I am in Europe as long as they continue to offer competitive pricing.

Europcar did put us in danger! I higly recommend to avoid this company! We had lots of rain during two days and the windshield wiper blades were old and not working. We had to stop many times because we could not see the road correctly! First in Albufeira the car was not checked correctly, and when we gave it back in Faro we told them there was an issue and they choose to ignore it. Here is their answers station manager which reported us that all vehicles are properly checked before going for rental and no faults were detected on the vehicle, We also clarify that our station manager on FARO AIRPORT confirmed that, after the check-in, no faults were detected on the windshield wipers. Which is obvious lies to avoid taking responsabilities or any commercial gesture. They also made us pay lots of extras, the bank card of my friend (the driver) was not accepted on their website, so i had to pay with mine. Until they told us on site we would have to pay for a second driver because of it. They also made us pay for the highway pass even though we did not wanted to use the highway... Europcar is a dishonest company full of dangerous crooks!
Long wait for mediocre service from the staff, both of whom told me that they were under staffed and busy, when I complained about my 25 minute wait for check-in on a very warm day as we had to wait outside in the hot sun.

Mi experiencia en Europcar y concretamente en esta oficina ha sido una vergüenza. El trato del personal de la oficina fue pésimo y caracterizado por la mala educación. Tanto el hombre como la mujer de la oficina no aportaron ningún tipo de soluciones a los problemas que ellos mismos nos generaron. Además, no existe ningún tipo de concordancia entre la información de la página web y lo que nos intentaban vender los trabajadores, una estafa.
FRAUDS, PLEASE BE AWARE. Booked a car rental online, does not own a physical credit card, so I checked the faq for the deposit and everywhere they talk about payment cards (debit and credit). I booked with my virtual credit card and had cash and a debit card with me. They refused to take the deposit amount with debit card or cash. Result: cancellation within 48 hours so you pay A fee higher than the actual cost for the rental

Service perfekt, kleine Abstriche beim Auto. Die Hotelzustellung des Autos und auch die Abholung haben reibungslos geklappt. Das Auto war in Ordnung. Allerdings hat der Wagen kurz nach dem Start erst mal nach Öl gerochen. Durch die Hotelzustellung (lief bei Europcar unter Zusatzservice) war leider kein Online-Checkin bei Europcar möglich, obwohl wir uns von Europcar vorher extra eine Driver ID hatten geben lassen.
We reserved a car at the earliest available time, which was at 8:30. Even though we arrived precisely at 8:30, we had to wait another 10 minutes in order to reserve it. When we entered the office, every detail there reeked of plain corporate interior design, apparently there to convince you everything will be working correctly. Well, it didnt work at all. Apparently their computer system is so fragile that it collapsed as soon as it tried to process our order, the first of the day. Then I was asked for my identifications again, for the manual contract. Only now, upon closer scrutiny, did the worker inform me that they dont accept debit cards, only credit cards, which I dont have since Im a student... I wonder if that would be an issue if the system didnt crash, since noone checked if I had a credit card before. Also, they offered us a full insurance package, which according to the official page is just an extra protection for your personal belongings, but actually its to insure the car for all damage, not just up to 330 EUR. Also also, they offered an electronic toll payment device for 1.75 EUR because we can only get to Lagos by highway, which cannot be paid otherwise. How convenient. Well, they omitted the fact that there are roads without tolls, where you can see a lot more of the beautiful south coast, even when we asked if theres a way not to take this option. This is unacceptable corporate predatory behaviour, and if this is the business model that corporate leadership chose, I hope it will fail in the near future. For the price theyre asking, taxi and public transport is way cheaper and more convenient. Its a wonder their workers managed to be so polite in this embarrassing situation.
Its all ok. Service good, the staff friendly. Car was handed over clean. Delivery hassle-free. Gladly again. Guaranteed recommendation.

A localização é excelente e muito fácil de encontrar. O atendimento foi rapido e o pessoal é muito simpático. Apenas ficamos um pouco decepcionados com o carro, mas correu tudo bem.
Prima geholpen hier, auto was ook helemaal prima. Houdt er wel rekening mee dat ze een ID plus rijbewijs nodig hebben. Alleen een rijbewijs is onvoldoende om een auto te huren.

Average service - the gentleman was average, he spent 5 minutes clicking on the computer and looking for a car, and finally he offered a car for 250 euros for 25 hours. Streets away we borrowed a new car with 1,200 km on the clock for 125 euros I dont recommend this place!!!!!!

We werden geholpen door een supervriendelijke en zeer enthousiaste medewerker, die alles snel had geregeld. Dit soort service zie je zelden meer. Ook de auto was top.
Unfortunately agency accept strictly credit cards only, and my debit card was not considered. However they were happy to accept initial 50% online payment by debit card. In the end the booking did not happened, and they did not refund me that initial payment at all. Very disappointed .
Only one member of staff on the till. Plus you need a physical credit card before you can take the car. No alternatives offered. Can t take the details of your credit card (which I had). Can t provide a payment webpage online or even accept a debit card. They take your money, but have found a convenient way of not providing a service.
Via de site de kleinste auto gehuurd. We kregen een bijna nieuwe middenslag auto zonder bijbetaling omdat de mini ,s op waren. Dit voor 85 euro voor 4 dagen. Prima geregeld.
Ich kann den Mietservice nur empfehlen. Auch die Mitarbeiter waren immer für uns mit Rat und Tat zur Seite. Negativ ist uns nur eine Mitarbeiterin aufgefallen. Diese dürfte gern an ihrem Verhalten arbeiten!!!! Trotz der Strafprobleme wurde alles zur Zufriedenheit gelöst. Dennoch glaube ich, das Europcar daran arbeiten könnte, das der Unterschied vor Ort und per Internet zu buchen nicht einen Preisunterschied von 100% haben sollte. Da fühlt sich der Kunde schon eigenartig, zumal die gleiche Arbeit für die Personen vor Ort zu leisten sind. Das versteht keiner. Und es wäre schön, wenn Kunden nicht gezwungen würden immer wieder das Internet zu nutzen. Service am Kunden vor Ort war und ist das A&O

Great experience overall. I hadnt hired a car for years and was anxious about all the scams and rip offs you hear about with car hire companies. Nothing like that here. The employee I saw when I picked the car up wasnt especially friendly and did try to gently upsell me insurance (as Im sure they are obliged to do) but really nothing to complain about. However, I saw a different employee both when I popped in to extend the rental and to return the car and he really was super friendly and helpful and his English was so flawless I briefly wondered if he was Portuguese! I didnt ask his name but greatly appreciated his excellent service.
Arrived at europcar in albufeira Portugal at 130 pm. Walked to locked office door where a nasty woman employee glared at us through the glass door and tapped on the closed for lunch from 1230 to 230 pm closed sign. We sat on concrete steps outside for an hour until they opened up . There were no customers except us. Entering the office at 230 the nasty lady accused us of not having a reservation and or making a reservation in the last 25 minutes ( supposedly while we sat on the steps outside ). We had made our car reservations several weeks before . Everyone in Portugal had been super helpful and friendly except the Europcar bag . Never go there again. Advise others to avoid this business.
I arrived on time to pick up my rental car at Albufeira Europe car. Just FYI: they close for 2 hours at lunch from 1230-2:30pm. I walked up to the counter and advised the woman who served me (black shoulder length hair and not very approachable at all) I had a reservation for a car rental. Immediately she accused me of making my booking for our car rental 15 min ahead of time. Didn t say welcome, hello or anything. I advised her that our car was booked a month ago. Still she did not believe me. Then accused me of booking two hours a head of time! Once I showed her our itinerary she asked for our passports and drivers license. I advised her that our booking agent, Exotik Journeys Tour, was very organized and so was I! She did not look up from her typing the whole time and another woman in the office came over whispering to each other. Once we got to the car and finish paperwork her demeanour changed and she tried to tell me there is always a rush right after lunch and thought we just booked our car before showing up!! Two other people showed up to drop off their cars after I arrived! I advised her I thought she was abrupt and that I was certainly was taken aback by the accusation and unfriendly service. Terrible business service from this woman! I won t be booking with them again!!

This is the worst car rental experience I have ever had. I did minimal damage to a side skirt on the car (a small scratch) I rented. Since I did not take insurance through them as I have existing insurance through my credit card, they claimed that the cost would be 1,124.51 which is ridiculous. When I asked for proof of this cost, the repair estimate and/or itemized repair bill this could not be provided. This is essentially insurance fraud. Avoid at all costs. Location is also woefully understaffed with long waiting times and the staff they do have are poorly trained.

Habe grade mein Auto abgegeben. Alles war problemlos. Die Mitarbeiter waren sehr freundlich bei der Miete und bei der Abgabe. Wir wurden gut beraten und es gab bei der Abgabe keine Probleme. Wir hatten eine Vollkasko Versicherung dazu gebucht, deswegen waren weitere Schäden, oder vorher übersehene Schäden egal. Ich empfehle trotzdem sehr genau vor der Miete darauf zu achten, dass wirklich alle Beschädigungen bzw. Kratzer an Felgen und Lack in dem Vertrag aufgenommen werden! 2 Punkte Abzug gibt es, weil uns die Preise ohne Mehrwertsteuer genannt wurden!
