Worst place to rent a car. Go to any other rental location. I've rented twice from them and both times the woman at the desk was rude. Secondly, the last time I rented from them they asked to charge me €20 for a cleaning fee - I have a toddler and there was some sand on the seats, very little. Such a ridiculous cash grab, considering they also have to clean it either way for the next person. I have rented in the Sintra and Cascais area for a few months and never had such a negative experience. Please if you have children or just want kind service and a smile, don't come here.

A one day rental of €42, they wanted me to buy insurance for €60 despite me having insurance already through my travel credit card. They put an 1100 dollar hold on my card because I didn't have insurance. 8 days later it is still pending on my card and unavailable. There's plenty of local agencies that aren't multinational corporations that are much more reasonable

Very disorganised. I was on holiday in Cascais and extended my rental for a couple more days and specifically asked the employee about the drop-off time and location, to which he said it should be at this location. I had to return the car on the 17th of September, a Sunday. After cleaning the interior and filling the tank, I drive to this Hertz Store at the time I was supposed to return the car, and to my surprise the gates and the store were closed. Spent at least 40 minutes trying to reach a human being on the telefone, and they just said I have to go all the way to Lisbon to return the car. Because of this I had to pay 30€ for an Uber back to Cascais and also missed my flight to top it all off. Upon inquiring about this issue, no one seems accountable or responsible for anything. At least the return in Lisbon was smooth and didn’t take longer than 2 minutes.

Had to wait 2h to get my reserved car because it was not cleaned yet. They didn t have any other cars available.
Serviço completamente desadequado, papeis espalhados e desinteresse, deram-me a chave e eu que encontre a viatura (só sabia a matrícula). à saída vi que depósito não estava nos 100% e alertei a funcionária que disse ser um pequeno desajuste. Quando atestei para entregar a viatura paguei o dobro do que seria normal pelo que o nível estava mesmo baixo não era desajuste. Reclamei e a Hertz devolveu parte do valor que paguei em excesso no combustível. Mas mau atendimento e aldrabar no combustível não tem perdão. Hertz nunca mais.

So-so service. We bought a car and it came with the tank on reserve, it was a bit unpleasant to leave the dealership and have to immediately go for gas.
Hertz Alcabideche - Cascais. Serviço péssimo, pior era impossível. Aluguei uma carrinha e cheguei lá e tinha uma carrinha muito maior que não dava para o que pretendia porque não cabia na garagem. Tive de esperar 2 horas por outra. Na hora de pagar a responsável disse que o meu cartão de crédito dava e tinha de pagar o seguro contra todos os riscos (o valor passou para o dobro). Como já estava sem tempo (por causa deles) só queria ir embora e peguei. Para finalizar recebi passado 4 meses uma carta em casa de uma passagem por uma SCUT com a respetiva multa. Só que não passei por nenhuma e a multa foi às 15.10h e recebi a carrinha às 15.40h. Como é obvio tive de pagar que está em meu nome. Não podia ser pior

This rent a car place has poor customet service, people are not very cearing. Just a lady that help at the end had a much better way of dealing with clients. I do hope that in future I will not have to deal with this place, will choose somewhere else even if less convinient. Really did not enjoy this ecperience.
