Am avut o colaborare foarte bun cu Anna. Am închiriat pentru 6 zile un Toyota Yaris Hybrid din 2024 cu 7000 de kilometri, starea ma inii fiind impecabil . Recomand cu drag Localcar.

We were very satisfied with the service. Anna was a great contact, very helpful and nice to provide some recommendation about the island. One thing we would suggest is to provide the rental contract in English for foreigners rather then in Portugal. Although we received it via email in English but it would have been better to sign the English version.

Mimo e mieli my ma a przygod ( delikatne zadrapanie od spodu, po wjechaniu na kamie ), do którego si od razu przyznali my, nie by o problemów, nawet wobec mojej deklaracji, e poniose koszty ewentualnej naprawy. This is a great rental company! Prices are good, car is like new and perfectly fits Madeira roads. We were using Toyota Hybrid car that has enough power even on steep climbs. We were greeted at the airport, all details were explained well. We asked for some trip advice and got them pretty fast. We even arrived one day later, but informed company when we learned about our delayed flight - we got pretty quick confirmation that they will wait for us next day when we arrive. We even get notification from them about weather warnings, so that we can adjust our plans as needed It really felt like they are our extended family taking care of us, I really appreciate this. I highly recommend using and enjoying their services.

Excellent company. I highly recommend it to anyone seeking ro rent a car in Madeira. Prices are low for the services they offer, they provide assistance by phone, email and chat apps all day around. Anna was kind enough to even send me a full list of places to visit and restaurants near our accomodation. For a full week, with pick-up and drop-off at airport, I paid 380 euro, with full insurance. The car was brand new and the hybrid motor helped me save a bit on the gas too. Will definetely rent again on our next trip to Madeira.

Since we had a large group of people, we took two Toyota Corolla. Both were in excellent condition, new, clean, and very comfortable. The engine was powerful enough for three adult passengers to climb steep hills. And in Madeira this is very important because last time another company offered us a small car that could barely crawl up the hills. We were greeted at the airport and all the arrangements took 10 minutes. Great value for money, we will definitely use this service again.

We asked these guys to help us with a car in April 2023 - and we were NOT disappointed. They welcomed us at the airport, with the car waiting just outside the terminal. The vehicle was spotless, with a full tank. The people were very nice, and kindly provided all details to manage the car and find our way around the island. Great experience, fast service, great (new) car. Everything was extremly good. The price was also very good compared to the other providers. Considering that I didnt have to pay in advance and I didnt have to use a credit card (but only a debit card) offered me some extra comfort. They also offered us some tips and tricks about Madeira, some of which we didnt know. In just a few words: it was one of the best rent-a-car experiences Ive ever had.

Our experience with Local Car has been perfect and we recommend it to anyone: fair price (the best we found) for a Toyota Hybrid automatic that has been easy to drive in the steep streets of Madeira, excellent communication and assistance - we were helped by Anna, who was super nice and also send us a list of things do to in Madeira not to be missed. The communication was easy and clear and everything was set up via email before my arrival. I was amazed to be have been upgraded for free from a Yaris to a Corolla when we met and also including a free handover at my hotel. My flight had been diverted to Tenerife overnight because of strong winds and because of that I could not pick-up the car in the morning as agreed. Anna understood my situation and let me get some sleep before bringing the car in the afternoon. She also helped with sending some nice local attractions and restaurants recommendations. I cannot recommend them enough for the great services that they are offering. You will not be disappointed if you choose them. The prices are also reasonable with full insurance included.

Great service! Car was like brand new, Toyota Yaris which we received in hybrid was something we loved during our stay in Madiera. Whats more we should receive different car (manual with lower engine) but we got suprised with boosted one (mentioned hybrid with bigger engine). Ho noleggiato una Yaris Hybrid per una settimana e mi sono trovato davvero benissimo. Lauto è stata consegnata perfettamente pulita e in ordine. Ho gradito molto la consegna presso un hotel fuori Funchal e il ritiro direttamente al parcheggio vicino al mio appartamento a Funchal. Anna è stata molto gentile nel darmi tutte le indicazioni utili per girare lisola senza problemi. Il prezzo è stato concorrenziale per essere agosto senza chiedere deposito.

Excellent service provided by this car rental agency, run by local people. The booking process and communication during the entire holiday was very easy through whatsapp and email. They also help with useful information regarding Madeiras main points of interest. We recommend Toyota Yaris Hybrid with auto gearbox, an excellent choice.

We had a manual Yaris. It was in a very good condition. We didnt have any issues. It was convenient to drop the car at the airport.

I would highly recommend. Agreement on rent was very fast, car itself was nice, clean, looking quite new. Surprisingly low fuel consumption ~ 6 - 6.5 l/100 km if I remember correctly. We started and finished at the airport, both pick up and return were fine, our flight was delayed on arrival but it was no problem. Anna was very friendly, told us all we needed to know about driving in Madeira and gave us some tips on places worth visiting. Note that you are expected to wash the car before returning, but it just means wash off the dirt, which takes about 10 minutes and costs few euro, so not a big deal (we also got info where is the closest place to do that close to the airport).

Amazing experience renting a car (Toyota yaris hybrid) here in Madeira. Would recommend renting specifically this car for 2 people because it was compact, easy to park in almost every place you want, can go up steep roads and also as the roads are winding, it is very good to have a smaller car so you can drive without any worries. The person whom we rented the car was also very nice person, sent us also the places (restaurants and beaches) we should visit on Madeira island, responded quickly and made us feel welcome on this Island! :) also the price for 5 days was reasonable unlike other car rental companies! If we ever come here again, would rent a car from this company for sure!

Halfway through our weeks holiday on Madeira it became clear that having a car would make it a lot easier to explore this beautiful island. Having made the decision at 18:55 it became clear that the large companies could not provide a car for the next day. From Google maps called the closest car rental company to where we stayed, and had an offer a few minutes later in my email. Communication generally on WhatsApp. Next morning I decided we might as well keep the car until we fly home. And arranged quote for delivery where we stayed and drop off at the airport. Opted for the Yaris Hybrid which arrived spotless and clean. A little over 30.000 km on the counter. I found the car type a good match for the roads of Madeira, which are steep! The electric motor and CVT gearbox make parking in uphill spots easy. Not a sports car but felt entertainingly responsive, though a bit noisy, as it sits on high revs quite a lot. I would not be happy for less power in the hills of Madeira. Following previous reviews I made sure to fill up the car beyond the first click. Calculated fuel economy around 6.0l/100km. Plenty of space for 2 people. I could not get Android auto to work. Cable interface is USB-A only, and the cable I had is a little dodgy. Used my partners Apple CarPlay which worked ok. Excellent communication on WhatsApp with Anna throughout, arranging for drop off at the departure zone at the airport at the agreed time. Did not need to wash car. Understand it needs to be returned clean enough to allow immediate inspection for damages on delivery. You need a physical payment card on pickup. Apparently phone/watch pay does not work. Good price. Good car. Good service.

I really liked the car rental from Local Car. They had good recommendations for my needs and were super kind. I had absolutely no issues and can totally recommend their service :) You have to know tho, that there is no shop at this address, you have to contact them online. Absolute delight! We got a wonderful, clean Toyota Yaris Hybrid and it made our stay in Madeira all the better. The staff were incredibly friendly and kind. We got SO MANY great suggestions for restaurants (not tourist traps) and extra sights to see that it enriched our itinerary. They were also available if we had questions (even not related to the car, but for lunch suggestions and other nonsense). We have rented brand new toyota yaris hybrid this summer for a few days and are very happy and pleased with the Local Car experience. The car was very economic and easy to drive through steep Madeira mountains. Service and communication was very nice and quick. Staff introduced the car very precisely when handing it over to us. Flexible options to choose package, even without the credit card and deposit. Prices are not too expensive. So to sum everything up, highly reccomended and reliable company to rent a car from.

We booked a corolla for a fair price given the absurdity of prices for car rental in madeira this year. We get the car with an employee and everything went great, she was nice and gave us many informations. The sad part came at the drop off; we did a full tank just outside funchal and went to WASH THE CAR because there was some dirt caused by the rain, then went outside a public parking to leave the car, there a man, probably the owner, did a full check up of the car like the narcotics, then started bragging that we did not a full tank, that 6 or 7 liters were missing (he has superpowers and can measure the liters inside the tank with a quick look) and asked us for 15 or 25 euros. This was totally a scam so after 15 minutes of trying to explain thet we did a full tank and drove for something like 5km, we and the employee went to a gas station to fill the tank, find out that a 1,6 liters were missing for a whopping total of 3 euros. When we came back he did not apologize but kept bragging and wasting everyone time. Im sorry for the employers and hope they find a better boss soon, but this was a scam attempt or maybe just poor customer care by a douche owner. La metto anche in italiano perche il proprietario mi ha fatto proprio girare le scatole. Abbiamo preso una corolla nuova accessoriata modello subaro baracca per quasi 500 euro per 5 giorni, prima di riconsegnarla abbiamo fatto il pieno e lavato la macchina perché la ragazza con cui abbiamo parlato ci ha fatto una splendida impressione. Alla riconsegna cera anche il proprietario della compagnia, che dopo un controllo della macchina degno della narcotici se ne esce che non abbiamo fatto il pieno e che mancano almeno 6 o 7 litri, e ci chiede prima 15 euro poi 25 per il costo benzina più disturbo. Dopo un po di alzate di voce in cui gli facciamo capire che non avrebbe visto un euro siamo andati ad un benzinaio e nel serbatoio sono entrati ben 1.6 litri di benzina, per circa 3 euro. Al ritorno nemmeno si è scusato ma ha continuato a inventarsi balle, in sostanza la macchina sarà pure stata nuova ma il servizio clienti è pessimo, sia che sia stata una truffa vera e propria sia nel caso di semplice mancanza di fiducia, lasciate perdere e andate altrove.

In May, me and some friends rent brand new Toyota Yaris for a few days. We were very happy with the car and the experience in general. They offer by far the cheapest cars on the island of Madeira. The service and communication were very good and fast. The best thing is that they offer the service without credit card and deposit. From my side, I highly recommend it as the company is reliable and affordable.

We spontaneously decided to rent a car on Madeira and chose the local car rental. We rented a car for 10 days and everything worked out so great! The staff is really nice and everything went perfect. We even got a list of things to try and do on Madeira which was great. We will definitely rent a car again next time we visit this beautiful island. Thank you :)

Great service from the team at Local car rent. They were very accommodating, dropping off the car at our accommodation and picking it up at the airport for us. The car was in very good condition, clean and comfortable. The only thing was that we had to thoroughly clean the car at the end, which we haven t had to do with past companies. Overall great experience, would highly recommend!

We got the car in really good condition, toyota yaris with mileage of 16k kilometers. Pick-up and drop-off punctual at scheduled time and places. Anna quickly responds to any questions. No hidden fees or suspicious contract.
