For the first days we rented two cars, one of which had no power to go up a larger hill and the other had no brake pads. The other day we rented one car and this car was great. Of course, rental with insurance. No deposit like the competition. We were misled during our first rental. We were offered a large car for 3 days/€600 (two cars for 3 days/approx. €520). After three days, renting a large car for one day cost us €150. So the €70 we could have saved could have been spent on fuel. Payment by cash or credit card.
The service is very friendly and nice. The lady explained to us which options we could book. To be on the safe side, we also chose fully comprehensive insurance without a deductible. The vehicle was in good condition. Unfortunately, the lady didn't explain the basic functions of the car to us, so we had to ask her specifically. But she showed this to us without any hesitation. The navigation system in the car was first of all in Portuguese and secondly a challenge to use. It would be better if profiles in English and German were saved in the navigation system for guests. Because the navigation system simply doesn't know certain destinations (=sights). By the way, the office itself makes a slightly shabby impression when you look around inside.
We booked online and it was the cheapest price of all the companies nearby. Everything went quickly and smoothly in the store in the morning. The return was also problem-free. We paid the deposit in cash and got it back without any problem when we returned. The vehicles are relatively good but safe. We didn't have any problems. The staff was very friendly. I can only recommend this rental station. Good and cheap.
Horrible experience! Avoid this place!!! When booking we were offered two options: limited insurance with higher deposit or full insurance (we were advised it doesn't include glass). As usual, we booked full insurance that was double price, just to avoid any unpleasantries, knowing their roads can be very tricky. Unfortunately we managed to scratch the car. When returning it, they said that as we scratched the headlight as well (very light scratch, it was mostly front side of the car), we need to pay 400 eur, as it's not included in the insurance. We refused, as we booked full insurance. They took the money off of our card without any authorization. We eventually had to call the police and they told us to involve lawyers... Next day the shop told us that it is actually 1000 eur!!! to change the light, so we should be happy they charged us less. We will have to continue to deal with this after our vacation unfortunately. Absolutely horrible experience! Avoid this place!

Rented a car with all-inclusive insurance. But just to be sure, I took pictures in advance because they check the damage thoroughly. Excellent rental.
Everything went really uncomlicated. The staff is very friendly and we had a sufficient car for the steep roads of Madeira (rented a category c car)
Well, reasonable pricing for a preordered b-class car. Got a Renauld Captur, more than enough space for two and almost enough power for the hills on madeira. Receiving the car was quick and without any complication. Also the return was easy and without any doubts because we have made no crashes or stuff. The car has had some scratches beforehand but we dont care about design things. I had some issues with the fuel regulation but this was regulated well after complaining. All in all I would recommend this station!
