Hertz is an internationally operating and reliable rent-a-car company. I rented from Hertz in different countries before. I rented a Nissan Qashqai months ago to start 18.07.2024 from this Hertz point (Cascais Railway Station) and drop-off at Lisbon Airport on 21.07.2024. One day before the start of rental I visited the office and confirmed the rental plan and also asked for a full-coverage insurance. On the day of rental start when I went to the office, the gentleman at the office tried to give me a VW Golf instead of Nissan Qashqai. I objected and he tried to show me other types of cars there. Then I noticed that there is a white color Qashqai parked there and I asked why I cannot take that car. He said it is for another customer. I objected and expressed that I made my reservation months ago, I visited the office the day before rental start for the confirmation and on the day of rental morning he was trying to give another class car while the reserved car type is ready and there. Since I really got angry with the gentleman and objected his unfair tries of giving another class car, he accepted to give the ready Qashqai. However, this time he proposed a higher full-coverage insurance price than he mentioned the day before. I did not want to continue discussion and accepted the price of additional insurance. I clearly can say that this service point is unprofessional and not at the standard of Hertz.

Simple and honest service, something rare in rent cars.

Rented a car here for one day trip from Cascais to Porto. Everything was fine, the only objection is that the variety and amout of cars is limited and they did not have any car with automatic transmission.

Good car rental. Willing service. Nice cars. We just didn't understand when communicating that they would block a higher amount. During the week, the actual rental price was paid from the account and the higher deposit was cancelled. Probably the usual way. So in the end satisfaction, I recommend
