Qué suerte encontrarnos a Hugo, de House on Wheels! Nos ayudó muchísimo y nos ofreció una camper espectacular que nos permitió seguir nuestro viaje por Portugal, tras quedarnos tiradas con la anterior camper que habíamos alquilado en otra empresa. La historia es que saliendo de Lisboa, la camper que estábamos usando nos dejó tiradas, pero queríamos continuar nuestras vacaciones por Portugal. Después de muchas horas de llamadas a diferentes empresas de campers y valorar opciones (nuestro dinero era muy ajustado en ese momento), dimos con Hugo, quien al explicarle nuestra situación fue muy honesto al decirnos que haría todo lo posible por ayudarnos. En 1 hora encontró la mejor opción de camper para que pudiéramos realizar la ruta pensada con el presupuesto que teníamos, también (aunque no fuera parte de su trabajo) nos facilitó un lugar donde pasar la noche tranquilas durmiendo dentro de la campera que él nos ofreció. La camper que nos facilitaron desde House on Wheels, no solo no nos dio ningún problema, sino que nos permitió disfrutar de cada momento del viaje dándonos todo tipo de tranquilidad (su funcionamiento a nivel mecánico) y todas las comodidades (ducha interior, WC, Cocina y NEVERA (La nevera es siempre un puntazooooo). Al terminar nuestra ruta y regresar la camper, nos volvimos a llevar una grata sorpresa cuando Hugo se preocupó por cómo habíamos podido gestionar nuestro regreso a España. Nos permitió organizar en sus oficinas tranquilamente nuestro equipaje y ultimar los detalles de nuestro regreso. Si tenéis idea de alquilar alguna camper en Portugal o semejante, no se nos ocurre mejor empresa en quien confiar (ojalá tuvieran una sede en España). Nosotras no tenemos nada más que palabras de gratitud y buenos deseos para Hugo y sus compañeros, ya que lo que hicieron por nosotras realmente no tiene precio. De no ser por ellos no habríamos podido completar nuestras vacaciones.

It wasn t the best customer service experience. We rented the car tent. It was smaller than most car tents and definitely not big enough for 2 adults so we ended up getting air bnbs the whole trip instead. The bed and pillow kit was weird. Didn t come with real pillows, they were about 1/4 of a pillow and very thin. I wouldn t use them again. I have also still not received my deposit for the tolls or my damage deposit and it has been over a month since I returned the vehicle. I was charged for the tolls in addition to these deposits.

Hatten zu viert 2 Autos mit dachzelt gebucht, die Übernahme ging sehr schnell und wir wurden gut betreut. Bei Problemen jeglicher Art konnten wir HOW jederzeit telefonisch erreichen, worauf wir auch 2 mal zurückkommen mussten. Die Autos waren sauber und ließen sich gut fahren, Apple Car Play gibt es, macht manchmal Probleme, ist aber grundsätzlich sehr nützlich für Maps und Musik. Zum schlafen war das Zelt für große Menschen etwas eng und klein, sonst hat alles super funktioniert. Wir fühlten uns jederzeit sehr gut aufgehoben und hatten eine schöne Zeit!

Wir hatten für eine Rundreise einen Camper für 18 Tage und es war wirklich einfach mi dem Camper. Man kommt durch alle Straßen und unsere beiden Kinder 5 & 8 Jahre fanden es einfach nur cool. Die Kommunikation mit HOW war immer einfach und unkompliziert- ich kann es jedem nur empfehlen.

Wir hatten einen großartigen 17tägigen Urlaub mit einem Dachzeltcamper. Buchung und Abholung war super easy. Besonders gut ist auch der Service, der immer erreichbar ist und uns in ein paar schwierigen Situationen geholfen hat. Das Dachzelt mit PKW waren zu zweit perfekt von der Größe und Auf- und Abbau dauern maximal 3 Minuten.

Waren 10 Tage mit dem Adventurer unterwegs. Für 2 Personen ideal, darüber evtl. mit Kindern aber wird schon recht eng. Service war freundlich und kompetent, wir waren 2 mal darauf angewiesen und bekamen schnell geholfen. Auch die Abgabe verlief reibungslos. Gerne wieder!

Amazing service, we booked a van for 6 days and the team was super welcoming, they explained everything and were also very comprehensive when we came back late for the checkout (tip: anticipate the water refill, it could take a good 30min!). I definitely recommend if you want to enjoy Portugal in a simple and relaxing way!

Super Fahrzeuge und genialer Service. Bei Fragen wird einem direkt per WhatsApp Nachrichten oder Videotelefonie geholfen. Es ist ein cooles Team und man kann viel zusätzliches Equipment dazumieten. Wir waren 17 Nächte mit dem Adventure Van unterwegs mit 2 Kindern (4 und 6 Jahre) und haben ca. 2000km zutückgelegt. Es war super und der Van war perfekt für uns.

Wij hebben met ons gezin (2 volwassenen en 2 kinderen) afgelopen juli de Explorer gehuurd voor anderhalve week en een mooie rondreis gemaakt vanaf Lissabon via de kust naar Porto, Guimarães en via het binnenland weer terug naar Lissabon. We hebben de contacten (via whatsapp bellen) vooraf bij reservering en net voor vertrek als zeer prettig ervaren. De mannen van de verhuur zijn bijzonder gastvrij, vriendelijk en relaxed. Bij het ophalen volgt een uitgebreide instructie en het inleveren van de camper verliep ook heel soepeltjes. Heel fijn ook dat ze ons hielpen met het boeken van een busverbinding en taxi. Echt top! Wij kunnen HOW Campers van harte aanbevelen, wij hebben een geweldige eerste camperervaring gehad met ons gezin!

I rented their Explorer RV by myself and had the best experience of my life. I was a bit nervous to drive the RV for the first time (and alone) but the van is so easy to drive and manage. It was a new van and in great condition. When I had any questions, the answered immediately via whatsapp, they are super helpful and supportive. Highly recommend HOW to anyone (even if you are alone and a girl) to rent a HOW camper :)

Kann ich jedem weiterempfehlen. Total unkomplizierter und freundlicher Service. Zudem sehr flexible und Preisleitung stimmt völlig überein. Da unser Flug um 6 Uhr morgens war durften wir das Auto um 2 Uhr morgens bei dem Depot in Lissabon abgeben und jemand vom Team furh uns für 30 Euro zum Flughafen. Hatten eine wundervolle und unvergesslich schöne Zeit. Danke euch nochmals sehr und vielleicht bis bald mal wieder!

Good service, but since you cannot check availabilities for your desired camper right away you might not get it. They try to make you an alternative offer with the other available campers though. You can book a lot of extras additionally. However, we didn t really understand why you have to pay 17 extra to have levelers for the camper. Normally that s included in the set up

Passamos, minha filha e eu, dias maravilhosos viajando por Portugal a bordo de um camper da HOW. Optamos pela versão de 4 pessoas, assim cada um teve sua própria cama. De tamanho nem muito pequeno nem grande, possibilitou estarmos em locais, digamos, selvagens. Os sócios/amigos Rodrigo, Luis e Hugo sempre simpáticos e prestativos. Inicialmente nossa bateria não mantinha carga, impossibilitando que o refrigerador funcionasse por mais que poucas horas quando estacionados. Após 4 dias voltamos a Lisboa para instalarem uma bateria nova: maravilha, nossa vida mudou da água pro vinho (e pra cerveja gelada!). Sinto de fazer algumas sugestões, que espero serem construtivas e que não gerem qualquer animosidade: 1. O veículo, como fazem a maior parte de locadoras, poderiam ser entregues e devolvidas com tanque cheio. Levei com 1/4, devolvi com 1/2, pois é difícil prever/calcular Com esse sistema, a empresa sempre ganha, o cliente quase sempre perde. 2. Passar as últimas horas de suas férias limpando o interior do camper não é muito agradável. Optaria sem hesitar por pagar uma taxa de limpeza razoável. Mas considerei a multa de 100 euros exorbitante, assim limpei. 3. Acho que poderiam oferecer, mesmo que com custo adicional, ventiladores internos. Fizeram muita falta nos dias de mais de 40 graus que tivemos. Conheço vários de 12 volts que são econômicos e eficientes, feitos para veleiros e autocaravanas. 4. Finalmente, e para mim o mais importante: o camper está adesivado em todas suas faces com diversas propagandas da HOW, inclusive alguns RENT ME . Tão extravagante que onde chegávamos os olhos se voltavam para nós e chegavam a pedir informações, tipo quanto custa, até se poderiam entrar para conhecer. Constrangedor. A boa notícia que Rodrigo me deu é que os 6 novos campers que receberam são mais discretas! Com tudo somado, o saldo foi bem positivo e fico grato pela experiência!

Simply Great Vacation! The Van in v. good condition but the Service BEST ever!!! That was out first Camper vacation so we needed a lot of explanation . The service staff has explained us everything in a great detail. They have even planned our Tour and even recommended best restaurants On the way back we were almost late for our plane and they have helped us a lot with a very quick check out and they have even ordered us a taxi so we have made for our flight . First of all: there is a reason this company scores this high on it s reviews. We ve rented multiple campervans in the past, but we never had a better experience than with the guys from Hostel On Wheels! The van was a bit older and just a tiny bit banged up, but that actually made driving it around much more comfortable. We were assured at pickup that we should just use the van, a small scratch here and there extra wouldn t mind as long as we kept it in one piece for the next renter. It drove like a charm and the little details such as a solar panel and a complimentary table lamp completed it. Contact via WhatsApp was almost instantaneous when we had a slight issue with one of the windows. All in all: great guys with their minds set to campervan life (as they regularly do themselves we assume) running a honest company. Would absolutely recommend anyone renting a van here.

Leider bekamen wir einen alten Camper (letzte Session) der viele Mängel hatte die aber erst im Laufe des Urlaubs zu Tage kamen. Fühlten uns verarscht, dass uns hierzu nichts gesagt wurde und man dann aber cremig jedes Zubehör bezahlen musste. Ein kleines Entgegengekommen - egal in welcher Form - wäre korrekt und fair gewesen. Sprich es war ein teurer Spaß mit einem defekten Camper, den wir selbst provisorisch repariert haben. Einmal und kein zweites Mal werden wir bei euch buchen. Das Campen an sich hat Spaß gemacht und die Größe war für 2 Personen perfekt.

We have chosen this Rental due to high ratings. The three guys were professional and super friendly. We have rented the freedom van, it was very nice. The warm shower and the toilet enabled us to camp (in low season) anywhere we wanted. They are easily to connect to via WhatsApp and very welcoming office. Good atmosphere and passion for their company. Highly recommend.

Eu e o Rui fomos recebidos pelo Luís que nos dedicou grande parte da sua manhã. Conhecemos igualmente os seus companheiros Rodrigo e Hugo que foram muito cordiais connosco. O Luís deu-nos todas as informações necessárias sobre a autocaravana de uma forma tranquila e paciente, respondendo a todas as nossas perguntas; perguntas essas que eram muitas ou não fossemos nós principiantes nesta aventura. Fomos até ao sul de Espanha e, ao longo da viagem, sempre que tivemos dúvidas e dificuldades relacionadas com o funcionamento da autocaravana, o Luís esteve disponível e ajudou-nos na resolução das mesmas. Magical trip through the Alentejo and Algarve region with the campervan. Fantastic to travel at one s own pace and be able to stop wherever the road takes you. Having your home always with you and being able to enjoy the most breathtaking views. Hugo and the team at How campers offered an amazing service: very helpful with tips that are tailormade to suit your needs and interests, clean and comfortable campervan, a proposed itinerary that was spot on, . I can only strongly recommend them. They were great. We will definitely be back

Rund um ein fantastischer Service. Angefangen bei den umfangreichen Erklärungen zu dem Camper, der Hilfe bei der Routenplanung, bis hin zur unkomplizierten Übergabe nach dem Trip. Das gesamte Team ist herzlich und macht einen tollen Job.

We had an amazing time with Hostel on Wheels. We booked the transfer from the airport, which was really helpful, easy and comfortable. Really good communication. The Van itself has everything you need:Fresh water, energy, it is cozy, and enough space for 4 people because of rotating chairs etc. We also booked WiFi because some of us had to work online. Worked well and fast. Amazing time, definitely recommend it and we will come back !!

We had an amazing time in Portugal thanks to HOW! The van was equipped with everything we needed for our holiday. The booking, arrival and drop off was super easy and uncomplicated. The team made us feel very welcome and was super friendly. Doing remote work or stuff for university was no problem, thanks to the great wifi. All in all a perfect trip, 100% recommended!

Best and easy way to spend a vacation in Portugal. Communication was on point and very friendly. The Van was in a super clean state. The Team spent a lot time for the explanation of the vehicle. So we felt more than Safe driving it. We took the adventurer. Absolut perfect (even for four people) and easy to drive. Parking at the coast was no problem anywhere. All extras like the table, WiFi, Wetsuits and boards were absolutely super! We can only say thank you for this experience in beautiful Portugal. We will definitely come back to this amazing rental.

Wir haben uns aufgrund der guten Bewertungen für Hostel on Wheels entschieden und müssen sagen das wir wirklich begeistert waren. Sehr freundliches Personal wo man zu jeder Zeit jemanden erreichen kann, unkomplizierte Buchung, Pick up in Faro hat super funktuniert und Rodrigo hat uns alles sehr gut erklärt. Wir waren das erste mal mit einen Camper unterwegs und fühlten uns mit HOW sehr sicher. Nächstes Mal buchen wir definitiv wieder über HOW!

Everything was perfect. Just got back from a fantastic holiday from Portugal and HOW had big part of it. Everything was smooth, super clear. As I run a small touring business myself, I know how much effort it takes to be responsive and to offer great service, thumbs up on that. Sice of a van is perfect. We had the 5.4m option and we even managed to manover it without too much stress in oldtown Porto. However, I drive a lot professionally, so maybe driving in oldtown Porto, you wouldn t find it too relaxed. But the van is capable to drive even there, so very flexible. I travelled with my wife and kid and the layout was well suitable for everyone, plus the corners of interior were smooth, so the headbumps were tolerable, too. :D We travelled for almost 3 weeks, starting early April and at times, it was still cold outside. Most of the nights were sub 10C. Just an idea, that maybe for the future conversions to kit few of the campers with Truma (or other analog) heaters in a car for winter use. Cheers for being awesome and keep on doing what you do.

Great rental company and no. 1 choice for anyone who wants to rent an affordable and comfortable campervan in Portugal. The staff is really friendly, helpful and chilled. I also rented a surfboard which was in almost new condition. I havent had a better experience with any other rental company anywhere around the world.

Renting a camper with HOW was an awesome experience. The booking process went really quick and was easy to complete. We got contacted soon after to specify arrival time and payment details. Once we arrived at the HOW Office at Lisbon we got a warm welcome by Luis and Rodrigo. We received a detailed tour on our van which explained everything in detail. We chose the Adventure version for the compact size. The vehicle was in great shape and a pleasure to drive. The equipment on the van was extensive and we rarely missed anything. If we had to make some proposals on improvements, it would be two tiny additions to the equipment: an extra blanket for the colder nights Mid-April and dishtowels. Overall we had an awesome time at Portugal and Luis and Rodrigo with their great and helpful service contributed a lot to it. We had a great experience from start to finish! Clear communication from the beginning, easy hand off and drop off that went above and beyond our expectations! It was our first time renting a camper van and Rodrigo throughly went through every detail to ensure we were comfortable before hitting the road. Different to other rentals, we were able to rent a van even though we were all under the age of 25 without having to pay high fees for that. One can ensure that the deposit will be returned as long as it is dropped off the way it was handed to you. The van was clean and easy to drive. Can only recommend to anyone wanting to camp around Portugal!

Small company, very service minded. Have capacity to quickly fix problems in car in other end of country through network of the repair shops. Campervan is very easy to handle and park virtually anywhere. No need to plan in advance, just go and explore. Before they journey we got an incredible amount of tips to visit from Luis in front of the large Portugal map on the wall (video recorded it for reference later). Easy to book, very present and accesible personnel.

Hugo, Luis, and Rodrigo are the absolute best! Renting the overlander was the best choice my partner and I made on our 3 week Portugal visit. We got to drive comfortably through the cities, parks, beaches and camp all over Portugal. We made so many great memories in this vehicle and the team made it so easy to rent what we needed for our whole trip.

The staff at HOW Campers are all extremely friendly and professional. The quick response times on all our questions while away was extremely helpful. Communication throughout the whole process was excellent and made for a stress free process. The van was in great condition. We were very surprised at the space and how well equip the van was. There was plenty of room in the fridge and freezer for us to store all our food. The van was easy to drive and drove well on both the freeway and the smaller roads. I highly recommend, you will not be disappointed. It is the best way to see Portugal.

It was great to be able to leave the confinement with HOW. We travelled in a brand new motorhome, smaller and with everything we needed. Very easy to drive!! Hugo delivered the vehicle and explained everything in detail and we received all the support we could need. And Portugal is the perfect country to explore by motorhome!

All in all we had a great experience with HOW Campers. From the perspective of being in the (hopefully) aftermath of a global pandemic they have been very transparant, friendly and helpful. We rented the SUV with rooftop tent and it came with everything we needed. Cooking supplies, tables and chairs, and they even gave a shower bag we could use. In addition we received a great many tips of places to visit and we enjoyed each and every one of them - we will cherish the beautiful sunset views and remote places where to live freely. We definitely recommend renting from these guys and we will be coming back next year!

Superbe expérience avec le Van, fonctionnel et spacieux. Niveau autonomie pour charger les appareils électroniques, en faisant un peu de route par jour vous navez aucun soucis. Le staff vous explique très bien comment le véhicule fonctionne etc. De plus, suite à une inattention de notre part, nous avons malencontreusement abimé le véhicule, ce qui aurait transformer laventure en cauchemar ; mais absolument pas. Le staff a été très réactif et compréhensif, nous avons pu avoir un autre van dans la journée. Et concernant les réparations, ce ne sont pas des escrocs nous avons payés une somme raisonnable tout en ayant la facture des travaux réalisés, et ces derniers se sont arrangés pour que cet incident ne soit pas trop couteux pour nous. Je recommande à 100% !

In summary, we have had only very good experiences with Hostel on wheels. The communication with the owners worked smoothly and they were always very helpful. The camper was new and super developed. We have lacked nothing. We never had any problems in the 2 weeks of our rental. The pickup and return worked great. We can only recommend everyone to rent his camper at HOW.

Fantastic place to rent a Van. The company owners were really nice, chill, funny and kind. They were very helpful and gave us nice tips on were to go in Portugal and where to stay over night. We booked a CamperVan last minute but that was no issue. The communication with the owners was very good and fast. Uitstekende ervaring! Vriendelijk afgehaald van de luchthaven en onmiddellijk heel wat info over Portugal gekregen tijdens de autorit. Zeer joviaal en van nature uit vriendelijk personeel. In het kantoor kregen we een uitgebreide en duidelijke uitleg met een espresso in de hand. Omdat het onze eerste campertrip was, kregen we extra tips en adviezen mee om op ons gemak te kunnen vertrekken. Via Whatsapp was HOW steeds makkelijk bereikbaar indien nodig. De trip in Portugal was een bijzondere belevenis die ons zeer bevallen is. We raden dit daarom ten stelligste aan. Via de app Park4Night konden we leuke standplaatsen terugvinden en plaatsen met de nodige voorzieningen. Naast het vriendelijke en gastvrije personeel, raden we een camper van Hostels On Wheels aan omdat deze zeer proper, praktisch en voldoende groot zijn. Goed handelbare wagen, zelfs in de iets moeilijke Portugese kleine wegen. Topervaring, zeker een aanrader. Bedankt Luís voor de goeie service!

Wir waren 15 Tage unterwegs. Das Auto wurde uns leider etwas zu spät übergeben, wofür sich die Verantwortlichen mehrfach entschuldigt haben. Einige Extra Gegenstände (Grill, Tisch und Stühle Surfboard) haben wir dafür kostenlos bekommen. Das Auto haben wir wirklich extrem Sauber übergeben bekommen. Sie Rückgabe erfolgte ohne Probleme und war sehr unbürokratisch. Eine klare Empfehlung für die Verantwortlichen.

We rented the campervan with 3 seats in the front row, we travel with 3, but we wanted our little boy (4 yo) to sit in the front with us. The service from HOW was perfect, very friendly guys, who clearly love what they are doing. They gave good advise and support during our 2.5 week travels. We went down the west coast, which is amazingly beautiful and also the Algarve, we loved every bit of it, what a beautiful country, lovely people, friendly and authentic. We can only recommend HOW, we will be back :)

I would recommend choosing Hostel on Wheels because you can choose one way option so you can start your journey at the airport of your choice and end at any airport as well, you can be picked up and dropped of at the Airport. You get a fully equipped camper (warm-water shower inside the camper) which is still considered a normal van so you can move freely in through the cities and towns. We also opted for the extra bbq and that resulted in memorable moment on the beach! All in all, if you want a unforgettable camper adventure through Portugal, do it with Hostel on Wheels.

Rented this car for a week in Portugal. Pick up in Lisbon and drop off in Lagos, which allowed us to travel one way without having to go back to the same place we started and we could experience more. The roof top tent is spacey and when completely folded up the tent is higher than the actual car on the highest point. Comfortable mattress and good possibilities to get air inside. The car isn t that big so you can go easily on the roads and park easily. We had two 7 feet surf boards and they just fit in the roof top tent. Bigger boards wouldn t be possible but might work on top of the tent. Very helpful, service minded and friendly staff! They gave us a good intro of the car, good suggestions of where to go and great service on the way when needed. Would absolutely go again! :)

Infelizmente a minha experiência com esta empresa não foi nada boa. A carrinha transformada em autocaravana deu imensos problemas. Ao segundo dia tive que passar a manhã à porta de uma oficina..... O apoio ao cliente deixa bastante a desejar e a organização das reservas por parte dos proprietários também. Fiz a reserva no inicio de Julho com a recolha da autocaravana marcada para as 12h de dia 12 de Setembro e três dias antes da data d reserva sou informada que só podia fazer a recolha da mesma às 20h da noite. Pois a caravana estava com outros clientes e estes só a iriam entregar às 18h.... Não recomendo.

Foram 2300km espetaculares com a HOW. Óptimo serviço, condições e uma equipa muita atenciosa. Recomendo vivamente.

Foi muito fácil chegar à empresa de transporte público. Fui extremamente bem atendido, por todos, em qualquer momento da experiência. Me passaram todas as informações necessárias para um iniciante em viagens de motorhome, me senti seguro e tudo correu super bem. O motorhome estava em boas condições, é moderno e confortável. Foi uma viagem com minha esposa e meu filho de 6 anos. Não vejo a hora de fazer novamente.

I would highly recommend hiring a camper with HOW. The campers have everything you need and felt so spacious, with a lot of storage and a nice hot shower. Its so beautiful waking up by the sea or on the cliffs every morning too. I really missed this van after going back to staying in an air b n b again afterwards. We had an amazing trip from Faro up to Lisbon. Portugal is perfect. The staff at HOW were all so helpful and friendly. They were also very flexible considering we booked our trip really last minute.

Fijne campervans die zijn voorzien van alles wat je maar nodig heb. Super vriendelijke en behulpzame eigenaren. We werden opgehaald bij het vliegveld, kregen uitgebreid uitleg over de camper en mooie plekken in Portugal en ze hielpen bij het zoeken van een hotel in Lissabon. Aan het einde van onze reis hebben ze ons naar een metrostation gebracht. Top service!! Mensen met passie voor hun werk. Ik zou hier zeker nogmaals een camper huren.

Wow, bin immer noch begeistert von HOW. Super nettes Team und damit verbunden ein top Service! Unser Camper wurde uns sogar zu unserem Appartment in Porto gebracht, so dass wir direkt starten konnten. Ich habe viele Anbieter in Portugal verglichen und HOW ist es echt gelungen das Optimum aus dem Ducato rauszuholen. Mit 2 Kindern hatten wir genügend Platz und konnten sogar im Camper duschen. Perfekt!
