I rented mid-sized SUV via Zest car rental broker. Master King staff was excellent and provided superb customer service. The pick up and dropped off were in and out less than 15 minutes. No hassle and haggle with sales like most other car company. Overall, master king is one of the best car rental that I’ve rented a car from in my years of traveling. I highly recommended and would love to rent from them again when I’m back in Portugal. Thanks Bruno and the staff at Lisbon location.
Augusto and João were so helpful. They bent over backwards to get the car to us in an unusual place. Then on returning the car I got the time wrong but they made changes to pick the car up at a different time. Lovely friendly service, great car, great deal. Highly recommended.
They never get back to you when you request a breakdown of a bill, I know I have been overcharged. Don't use this company
Absolute nightmare to deal with when anything goes wrong. Cars badly maintained and dangerous then they blame you for their own incompetence. These crooked clowns have cost me thousands and now ghosted me on customer service. Use a proper company not this lot.
Really terrible experience. They openly screw you if you don't have a credit card and they will not accept any deposit on a debit card. Was forced to pay mandatory insurance and was charged a non refundable amount of €75 euro for tolls. The guy made out that he was doing me a favour here as apparently the charge should have been €100. I'm sure it's all in the small print terms and conditions but would recommend avoiding.
Rented a 9 seater Ford Transit from MasterKings. Everything was perfect and the experience at pickup/dropoff very smooth. The van was really good quality and perfect for us. Highly recommend and will use again!
Unreasonable cleaning charges. Some sand in the car that would require vacuum for 10 minutes, master kings say it would take many hours to clean and charge €35. Have returned a car in the same condition before and no charge. Terms and conditions say a charge for excessive dirt thus requiring additional or specialised cleaning. Beware!
Last Monday,I arrived at Faro Airport. From the UK. Went to Car Park 4. Met a Guy called Phillip!. Did the Paperwork!. I went to the 🚘 Car!!. Being a Opel!. I then Tried to Leave Car Park 4. 4 Times!!. No GO!!. They Have a Electrical System. Which recognises the Number Plate!. In the end I got hold of Phillip. He had to Take the Car’s Documents. And pay to Let me out Off the Car Park. In all I was Waiting 1.5hours. Very Frustrating!!. Finally, this Car was not Ready for ME. Check’s. Had not been Carried Out!!. I will not be using Masterkings , AGAIN!!. DavidUnsworth. UPDATE!. Masterkings Have Apologise, for the Inconvenience Caused!!. I thank them for that!. However, they have Stated. Their will be No Financial Compensation!. Finally, Zest. The Broker, in 🇬🇧 Uk!.. Will give me 5%. Off my Next Car Hire. It’s worth Giving Positive Feedback! In all Situations!!. 2nd . Update. Alquilámos una Mercedes Vito, el día 26/09/2024, para nuestro grupo en el aeropuerto de Faro. Al recoger el coche han pedido una trajeta de crédito para bloquer 2500 que serían restituidos en el día de la entrega del coche. Después de hacer el check-out del coche en el día 29 de Septiembre, pregunto si es necesario pasar la tarjeta para desbloquear y no cobrar los 2500 , una vez que la Mercedes no tenía ningún daño hecho por nosotros. La persona que ha hecho el chequeo del coche, nos dice que eso es con lo departamento financiero y ellos no pueden hacer nada más. Le pido para que escriba en el papel del alquiler la confirmación que todo está bien con el coche en esa fecha. Unos días después, tengo la sorpresa del cobro de 2500 en mí cuenta. No habían bloqueado ese valor de mi trajeta pero sí, lo habían cobrado. He tenido que enviar un email para MasterKings para solicitar mi reembolso. Después de su pedido de disculpas y solicitud de mis datos bancarios para hacer la transferencia caso no fuera posible por trajeta, he tenido que enviar otro email solicitando información sobre el caso y estuve sin mí dinero hasta el día 10 de Octubre. Es lamentable como se ha procesado todo y dejo esta reseña para alertar futuros clientes en la hora de dejar su trajeta de crédito. Yo y las personas de mí grupo ya no volveremos a alquilar coches en esta empresa.
Depois de utilizar o serviço da Master Kings por mais de 6 vezes, posso garantir que sempre me foi prestado o mesmo nível de serviço: eficiente e profissional. Os preços estão bem esclarecidos, assim como as regras de aluguer. Não consigo entender como outros clientes deixam algumas avaliações negativas; talvez não conheçam as regras ou não as cumpram. Para mim, é um dos melhores, senão o melhor serviço de rent-a-car que já utilizei. Obrigado, MasterKings! Até à proxima!

Vorsicht!!! Wer kein Jurist ist, wird hier deutlich nachzahlen. Es gibt im Kleingedruckten viele Fallen, in die man reinfallen kann. Und dann wird es teuer schon bevor das Auto ausgehändigt wird. Wir sollten erst 320 später 480 nachzahlen für 2 Wochen mieten, weil wir statt Visa Kreditkarte eine Visa debit Karte hatten. Meine Frau hat weinend ohne Auto den Flughafen verlassen. Den Mietpreis müssten wir über Check 24 trotzdem zahlen. Abzocker!!!

Via ECR een auto gehuurd bij Master Kings/Faro. We hebben al veel vaker autos gehuurd bij de diverse maatschappijen en hebben dus behoorlijk wat ervaring. Master KIngs is een absolute verademing. Hele nette huurprijs, afspraken worden nagekomen, prima begeleiding ter plekke, goede uitleg en, vooral, geen gezeur over extra verzekeringen/voorzieningen/bangmakerij. Ook heel bijzonder: de blokkade van de credit card ivm mogelijke schade was binnen 48 uur verdwenen. Complimenten!
A fuir!!!! Arnaque!!!! 30 pour 4mn de retard au retour. 150 pour l absence des papiers de la voiture qui ne m ont jamais été donnés. J ai du appeler la police, pas le moindre effort de la compagnie pour retrouver les papiers dans leurs bureaux ils ont préféré se servir sur ma caution en reportant le tord sur moi. Ça a plus que doublé le prix de ma location. Une honte, arnaque bien rodée ! !!!!!!!
An der Algarve nehme ich immer die Masterkings Autovermietung. ( Buche über zest car rental. Unbedingt dort die Vollkaskoversicherung buchen! ) Sie haben die saubersten und neuesten Autos. Autoabholung ist ist auf dem Parkplatz Flughafen Faro. Ein Container, der groß mit P4 beschriftet ist. Siehe Foto. Gegenüber vom Abflug an der rechten Ecke des Flughafengebäudes. Zur Abgabe die ZWEITE Einfahrt P1 nehmen. Den grünen Knopf drücken. Kein Parkschein kommt raus. Die Schranke geht auf. Bei der Ausfahrt geht die Schranke auch einfach auf. Dann immer am Rand des Parkplatzes bis zum großen Schild P4 fahren. Siehe Foto. Wenn man zu zweit ist die Koffer vorher bei Departures, wo auch die Busse halten ausladen. Das Personal könnte zugewandter sein und die Fahrzeuge erklären. Achte darauf, dass genügend Benzin im Tank ist. Tankstelle ist am Kreisverkehr.
Vorsicht Abzocke, uns wurde eine zusätzliche Versicherung aufgeschwatzt. Ohne Versicherung kein Auto. Leider war es schon spät Abend und wir hatten ein 3 Monate altes Baby dabei. Also waren wir gezwungen zu bezahlen und zwar 25 pro Tag. Das hat dann mehr gekostet als der Wagen an sich. FINGER WEG
Charged $750 penalties on return Eventually found out this was for putting the wrong fuel in the car. However I still had the receipts and could prove I did not use the wrong fuel. Still pursuing.
Bad car rental company that scams people out of money. Rented a car from them in Faro Airport and they charged 15 Euros extra which was supposed to refund a week after we have left the car but still we dont have this. This company is beggar. Never again to rent from them.
Do not rent from this places..!!! Pay the extra 50 and rent with a reputable company, their kiosk in P4 at Faro is a mess, service is horrific and note they do not accept major cards, potential scam I d say when you drop a car back, stay away..!!
Agence de location à fuir. Réservation par holyday car. Reste à payer 192 à larrivée. Finalement il faut ajouter 200 de frais car nous navons pas la bonne carte bancaire et 75 pour les péages. Pour couronner le tout franchise à 1500 qui vide votre compte. Ce sont des voleurs ! Nous ne sommes pas les seuls à avoir eu des soucis avec ce loueur. Finalement nous avons louer chez GOLDCAR. Désastreux

Had I seen all of these reviews I would have never even entertained the idea of master kings. Lots of small print and not one little bit helpful avoid at all costs. Person behind the counter tried to charge extra for turning up early. They obviously know what they re doing. Very unprofessional and underhanded way of handling things

They are scammers, we rented with them, we had a problem on the road and they did not send us help, we waited for more than 3 hours and we had to hire a tow truck on our own. Upon arrival they charged us 1500 euros on the card and that the insurance would later return to us AND IT NEVER HAPPENED. Terrible experience! Dont hire them if you want to save yourself problems. We ve used Masterkings regularly for years, booking via Zest. Good value, honest service and easy pickup and drop off in carpark 4 at Faro airport. As with every single hire company on the planet READ THE TERMS AND CONDITIONS - yes you need a credit card, yes the airport charges 15 euros to everyone, yes you need to put the right fuel in or you WILL destroy the car, and yes there s additional insurance available to cover misfueling, losing the keys, puncturing the tyres and so on. Decent cars, decent prices.
We have hired several times while in Vilamoura, via Zest, and I cannot fault Masterkings service. They really are excellent. We wouldnt go anywhere else.
A very smooth pick up and return after a 3 week stay in the Algarve. The car was a category higher than we ordered and it was almost new. I will rent again from Master Kings.

Wir haben über Check24 gebucht und hatten keine Probleme. Keine Verkaufsversuche oder ein komisches Gefühl. Auto war fast neu und konnte vor der Miete in Augenschein genommen werden. Eine zusätzliche von uns entdeckte Make wurde kommentarlos in Protokoll aufgenommen. Tank war halb voll. Auto war sauber. Konnten es sogar eine Stunde früher ausleihen und bereits um 4 Uhr morgens ohne Aufpreis abgeben. Der Preis war auch günstig. Der Kraftstoff steht sogar in Tankdeckel, kein Plan warum so viele hier zu blöd sind, richtig zu tanken.

Took deposit for scratches that we didnt do, he was an arrogant idiot!!, rubbish company! Steer clear!!! Id give 0 stars of I could. Emailed few occasions as also took £25 and wont reply. have just used master king car hire for the first time for a 13 day hire,we found them to be excellent ,friendly and quick collection of the car and a very early return of the car again quick and smooth,would use again.
We recently rented a Peugeot 5008 from MasterKings. From start to finish, the process was smooth and completely hassle-free. Staff at pick-up and return in Faro airport P4 were courteous, friendly and efficient. We will definitely rent from them again.
Beim Abholen des Autos wurde uns gesagt, wir müssen eine extra Gebühr von 30 zahlen, wenn wir das Auto vor 8h abgeben wollen. Dann sollten wir einfach am Abend vorher anrufen, sonst sei kein Mitarbeiter vor Ort. Wir buchten keine frühere Rückgabe, fuhren aber um 7.45h auf den Parkplatz. Warteten dann vorm Rückgabeschalter, bis uns ein Mitarbeiter unfreundlich aufforderte, doch nun abzugeben. Die Gebühr müssten wir sowieso zahlen, wir wären ja vor 8h auf dem Parkplatz gewesen und nur das zählte. Mussten es dann auch zahlen, beim Abholen das Autos gab es aber keine Info dazu, dass sie Zeit zählt, zu der man auf den Parkplatz fährt. Freche Abzocke!
2 Sterne dafür, dass das Auto 14 Tage gefahren ist (abgesehen davon, dass es nach 30 min anzeigte, der Reifendruck sie zu überprüfen, wofür wir dann hielten, um festzustellen, alles ist in Ordnung). Ansonsten ist das maximale Geldmacherei. Uns wurde gesagt, man kann das Auto nur gegen Gebühr vor 8 Uhr zurück geben. Dafür müsse man anrufen, da sie vorher geschlossen haben. Wir wollten keine Gebühr zahlen und haben im Auto 10 Minuten vor 8 gewartet. Bei der Rückgabe erklärte eins der Mann unfreundlich, dass wir 30 Gebühr zahlen müssten, weil wir vor 8 Uhr mit dem Auto auf den Parkplatz gefahren wären. Er meinte auf unseren Protest, das wäre bei allen Autovermietern so. Bei der Einweisung wurde uns davon nichts gesagt, ich habe das auch bei keinem anderen Anbieter erlebt. Nie wieder Masterkings!!

Achtung Abzocke.Mussten am Flughafen eine Kaution von 25 Euro für die Autobahnmaut hinterlegen. Diese würden wir automatisch zurück erhalten, wenn wir die Autobahn nicht nutzen. Der Wagen wurde im September zurück gegeben und ich warte bis heute auf eine Erstattung. Auf Mails wird nicht geantwortet. Da kann man günstig anbieten.

The car I rented was fine mechanically but it was not cleaned at all. In addition to a damaged front fender, the lock mechanism in the handle of the driver s door was entirely missing. I mean there was a hole where the lock mechanism ought to have been. Had I not photographed these things (and other interior scuffs) and pointed them out before I drove off the lot I would have been charged with the damage since none of it had been previously recorded. Most frustrating of all is that I have been chasing after a promised 25 refund of a toll deposit when I never once in the month I rented the car drove on the toll road as the transponder would have attested. I have exchanged numerous emails with Holiday Rental Cars, which is either the parent company or the broker for MasterKings and at their insistence was required to scan and email my contract and reservation (sending them the numbers was not sufficient). I now realize I have been communicating with a robot set up to fool you into thinking it is a real person in Customer Service because, after sending what they required and hearing nothing in response to my repeated requests for a status report on the refund, I was asked ALL OVER AGAIN to send what I have already sent. It is an endless loop meant to exhaust and frustrate the consumer to the point that you give up, which I won t do. I hope someone at MasterKings is paying attention to these reviews and has a sense of honor. The refund is more than one month past due. Shameful business practices.
Have used MasterKings at Faro for 12 years and never had a problem with them, The staff are busy but always polite and very friendly. Yes, sometimes there is a wait but bearing in mind they are operating from a small unit in carpark P4 they do an incredible job. Our cars are always clean and new and return is very simple. Thoroughly recommend them and will continue to do so.

I have been travelling to the Algarve/Faro for some 20 years now and have booked with probably most of all car rental companies. My last 7 bookings have been with MasterKings. I have never shown much loyalty to car rental companies, but their service has been the best. Pick-up is super comfortable at P4 at Faro airport, no shuttle, you go to P4 where most of the local car rental companies are, you do the contract and the car waits right behind you in the parking lot. The car has always been fine, prices competitive, car return super friendly and fair. I do enquire prices via email though, not via their website. I just booked with them again and figured I leave them the review they deserve.
Habe statt des gebuchten Fahrzeugs Jeep Renegade als gleichwertiges Fahrzeug dieser Kategorie einen kleinen Fließheckwagen namens Skoda Kamiq bekommen. Diese Auto hat absolut gar nichts mit einem Jeep Renegade gemeinsam. Ich war tief enttäuscht. Zweiter Versuch 6 Monate später: Nissan Juke gebucht und auch bekommen. Generell: Die Abwicklung bei Fahrzeugübergabe und -rücknahme ist äusserst professionell. Sehr positiv: es wird einem keine Zusatzversicherung aufgeschwatzt oder untergeschoben. Daher jetzt 5 Sterne

Location très chère pour un véhicule médiocre (une Fiat panda sans clim , pneu usé et sous gonflé, plein non fait). Accueil désagréable à larrivé (attention, ils prennent lensemble des numéros de votre carte bleu sans votre accord). Au retour, surprise, si vous êtes en avance, vous payerez 30 de plus !
Over the last few years during our travels to the Algarve, we have discovered MasterKings car rental company, which is now our go-to car rental agency. The team is professional, super fair and a pleasure to work with. Their cars are also in very good condition, which we really appreciate (LOVED the Fiat CC Cabrio!)! Very rude and unprofessional service , they did not want to give me any receipt when dropping off the car which gave me no proof of safe return , this held me personally responsible if they would have reported damages afterwords. When asking a second time for any kind of confirmation they became angry and started shouting at me
aucun souci pour la location avec un accueil sympa et efficace. par contre, attention à la gestion du badge autoroute au Portugal. Je narrive pas à obtenir le décompte réel des trajets sur lautoroute! Du coup on me rembourse 0.80 après 3 demandes de décompte non reçu ce jour sur la somme de 29 cautionné au départ. Cette pratique relève de larnaque, sauf avis contratire

Finger weg von dieser Einrichtung. Es ist eine Masche!!! Die haben keine eigene Schalter in Lissabon. Wie abgesprochen haben den angerufen Stunde vor Abgabe zu allen 3(!!!) Nummern die zu erreichen, da ging keiner ran. Auch im Parkplatz bei Abgabe war keiner, wo wir nahezu 1 Stunde warten. Immer noch keiner da. Alle Nummer unerreichbar.
Bad company, would strongly disadvise!. Charged extra costs that are covered in contract! Handing in keys at airport was only allowed when paying extra. Threatening with theft and penalties: will not pick them ever again. Carflexi as maincontractor did not help to solve this matter. Just do not respond. Not trustworthy at all.

Charged me 30.00 saying I am 10 minutes early and refused to give the paperwork back until I pay the car park penalty which I was told that they will pay. Jai loué une fiat Panda pour un prix raisonnable du 15 au 29 mai. Pas évident de Trouver le bureau en arrivant . Voiture propre, aucun soucis. A laccueil le jeune homme, très sympathique a fait le tour du véhicule avec nous. Au retour idem à 6h du matin. Le même jeune homme. Aucun souci. Très satisfait davoir choisi ce loueur. Les autres loueurs à côté avaient lair beaucoup moins sympathiques.

DRIVERS BEWARE!! I recently hired a car which was returned today. I decided i would use a local car hire company instead of the airport. The delivery of the vehicle arrived on time and the gentleman was ok and polite. They wanted to take my money and just leave but I requested he complete the form for any marks which he did reluctantly(this was due to a scam that occurred with a car in Spain) They have just collected the car, normally at the airport the returned car is inspected and signed that all ok. I challenged the gentleman who replied well you are insured so doesnt matter! When i didnt reply he said more aggressively well you are insured arent you, you are insured??And i said yes but you need to inspect the vehicle and why are you asking that question!! He replied its fine its ok!! and got in the car and drove off. I rang their office straight away and she basically told me i was lying, (after she spoke to the collection driver) and said i was rude and hung up, a colleague who was listening to my conversation on loudspeaker said i was not rude with her. Fortunately i took a video of the car on delivery and the collection. Be VERY CAREFUL as I got a very bad feeling. Very unhappy with their attitude and will be reporting this to Zest car hire in the UK. I also rang them this morning to make sure they were collecting at 1030am as arranged in my contract but said it wouldnt be until after 4pm as to busy so will see if they try and take extra money.
Horrible service. We landed at 11:00with our baby. We called them around 12:00 to ask where are they (no one was actually waiting for us as we were told they would) We ended up waiting another hour plus to get the car we ordered online. I do not recommend them at all. They had only one person working and they did not help us get it quicker due to our baby being with us

Denuncia feita na Camera Arbitral de Conflito de Lisboa e na Delegacia de Polícia de Lisboa.
Months after renting the car, and thinking everything was great, we got additional charge on our credit card. Nothing was mentioned during the car drop-off, everything was in order, no communication from the car rental. I do not recommend this car rental, and will definitely never use it again, its better to just pay a higher price to a well known companies. Rented a Fiat 500 cabrio knowing that it has android auto. The USB port didnt work so I asked them about it. They said that only thing that has to work is the motor, A/C, radio etc. I argued that the car isnt 100% and that android auto is part of the radio function. Then the fellow told me that android auto has to be registered which is why it doesnt work. He also claimed to be an automotive engineer. Lol. Just lies.Their attitude was too bad for you and accused me of mistreating their staff because I became frustrated when they told me they would not return my money even though I made them aware of the issue within 1 hour of taking the vehicle. I rented the vehicle under the condition that it would be 100% and it isnt. There too bad for you attitude is really what got my anxiety going. Terrible company.
Terrible experience with their Lisbon office. Customer service absolutely was appalling as staff very rude, not empathetic or understanding. Would not recommend.
Wir haben einen 9Sitzer gebucht vor Ort. Der Wagen wurde morgens ins Hotel gebracht (1h von Faro entfernt) und abends wieder abgeholt. Guter Zustand des Wagens und faire Abwicklung. Kein Versuch unnötige Versicherung zu verkaufen. Der Preis, im Vergleich zur Buchung eines namhaften Anbieters im Hotel, war satte 50% günstiger. Also wir buchen da wieder, wenn wir nochmal da sind.
Horrible experience! The guy told us to meet him at the Starbucks in the airport and then never showed up. We eventually found him after calling like 20 times. On our way back, we were told two different things so we were running for 30 minutes. We eventually got a hold of someone who told us they were coming in 2 minutes. Never showed up! We had to keep calling until they were so annoyed of us that they had to come . I feel so bad but I had to share my experiences so that no one has to go through what we did.
We used Zest Car Rental as the broker for a car rental in Lisbon for 15 days. They introduced us to MasterKings. We picked up from Lisbon Airport and dropped back to Lisbon Airport. It was very easy, the lady who greeted us (after our flight was delayed by 1.5hrs) was incredibly professional and spoke excellent English. She even managed to get us out of a pickle because I didnt remember my credit card pin. The car we got was exactly what we had hoped for and when we returned it back - in the same condition we found it (very clean and well maintained) - she was very swift in sorting out the paperwork. My only small gripe is that because we were flying out for T2 and we had to return it to T1 we had a bit of a walk to T2 - but thats just being precious!
Wir haben für Portugal einen Mietwagen an Pfingsten über Argus car bei Check24 gebucht. Sind ehrlich gesagt erschrocken über die schlechten Rezessionen. Lief alles problemlos ab! So wie gebucht haben wir den Wagen bekommen, ohne lange Wartezeiten am Flughafen Faro. Waren freundlich. Haben noch 15 Euro dazubezahlt, da wir für die Autobahn in Portugal ein Registriergerät brauchten. Das würden wir jedem empfehlen, damit fährt es sich leichter auf der Autobahn! Das ist da einzige was wir dazubezahlen mussten, haben uns aber vorweg informiert und es wurde uns dies mitgeteilt, dass dieses Gerät nicht im Preis inklusive ist. Wurde in den Rezessionen auch als Beschwerde geschrieben, man muss sich erkundigen! Sind positiv überrascht worden wie gut alles geklappt hat, können es weiterempfehlen!
DO NOT use this scam company!!!! We were stranded on the A22 for 7 hours due to an error with fuelling. Petrol/Gas pumps very confusing . We were told by MasterKings that we were negligent and that we would be charged the tow unless we tell them we don t know why we broke down. It took all day on the busy highway after MANY conversations with Sofia to finally have a 2nd vehicle come out to us at 6pm. During the 7 hours we had several good samaritans stop. Finally two police offers assisted and communicated with MasterKings directly. They did not offer MasterKings any kind words and were appalled the company did not come to our aide earlier (first call to MasterKings was 11:17am). The guy that brought out the 2nd vehicle after 7 hours even had the audacity to sarcastically ask if we can drive automatic. We were automatically charged a hefty fee without car being properly diagnosed by mechanic which was to happen two days later. I had read reviews prior to booking with zest and did not want to finalize with MasterKings but was assured that they were decent. Also to note when we were picking up our vehicle, a lady came to ask why she did not have the pre booked SAT NAV in her car. The agent rolled his eyes, made some sarcastic comment and then continued to laugh with his colleagues. This was the same man that came out with our 2nd car!!! Customer service goes along way and they have none!!! Read the reviews on this company and trust your gut!!!! Only because I have to give a star, I give to Zest .nothing to MasterKings!
Masterkings: the best way to make your trip in Portugal slow and expensive. Masterkings, which is ruling nothing but those huge delays during deliveries, rented me with an old Fiat during my trip in Portugal. Their agent that was supposed to deliver the car at my hotel arrived 1 hour and a half later. My Swiss watch and habits are telling me that this isnt good. When she finally made it to my hotel, this agent speeded up the explanation of the T&Cs as much as possible to catch up her delay. I dont want to think she did it on purpose to avoid certain IMPORTANT details.... but who knows. The agent mentioned with a big smile that if I wanted to return at the airport directly if would be actually easier for them. I confirmed that I would bring back the car to the airport directly especially if it was easier for them. On the very last day of my trip, while driving back to the airport I received a call from Masterkings saying that they were expecting me at my hotel. Since I was about to arrive at the airport, I mentioned that I would bring back the car directly to the airport and they mentioned that they would charge me 20 euros extra fee for this. When I arrived at the airport, there were two Masterkings employees waiting for me. One of them threatened that if I didnt pay now I would probably be charged more. What a great way to treat customers ! With such a poor service, your competitors are thankful !! Vince
Vorsicht ! Leider kein Schalter im Terminal , man muss erst mal hinterher telefonieren das man im Terminal abgeholt wird. Übergabe findet dann im Parkhaus direkt am Auto statt. Dann hat man versucht uns eine teure Vollkasko aufzuschwätzen obwohl wir diese bereits über Check 24 gebucht hatten . Der Mitarbeiter wollte uns weis machen damit hätten sie nichts zu tun . Auto hatte mehrere kleine Dellen und Schrammen so das ich in seinem Beisein gleich mal ein Video gemacht habe . Wagen war nicht vollgetankt sondern nur 3/8 voll. Hab ich im Vertrag notieren lassen. Rückgabe verlief dann wieder erwarten unkompliziert
Not a good experience, no office at airport , you need to wait for a guy to show up at airport. And to get refund from insurance is extremely difficult, they operate with third parties that make any process extremely difficult.
Poor service and potential fraud alert. I have been charged by them again almost five months after renting and fully paying for my rental, not to mention the ordeal we endured during the trip with a faulty car. They were initially polite and friendly when we picked up the car, and the car was in fine shape. On day 2 we noticed a number of emergency lights come on on the dashboard (we spent most of day 1 at the hotel so this was our first day really driving the car). So we contacted Masterkings for a replacement car, which seems fair given the contract specifies a car in good working order. We even offered to deliver the car to the airport to exchange for a new one. What was meant to me a 1 hour car transfer process became almost 5 as we continued to wait in the parking lot for a car that they claimed would come in just a few minutes. By the time a new car arrived, wed lost almost an entire day of our vacation. When I asked for a discount for the significant inconvenience, they refused, rudely, laughed amongst themselves and finally (after my wife and I pushed and pushed) relented by saying we didnt have to refill the tank before we returned. Some discount for a lost day of a limited vacation. I emailed them later about this to see if I could speak with someone higher up, and months later have received no response. Further, this trip occurred in July and we are now seeing additional charges on our credit card from Masterkings in late OCTOBER. This appears fraudulent, or at least negligent. I am disputing the charge. I would not recommend this car service for tourists unless you want to lose out on vacation time and be charged randomly months later.

Horribly inefficient and potentially a scam, DO NOT USE. Made to wait at the airport for hours to collect our car. Upon return everything was checked and all paperwork appeared to be in order. 4 months later I have just had a charge on my credit card from the company with no explanation as to why. I will be disputing this payment. Disgusting service.
SCAM, SCAM - DO NOT rent from this company. We used a third party site to rent our car in Lisbon. The site gave us Master Kings Rental. They were one hour late for the meet & greet at the airport and over one hour late when we tried to drop off the car (we almost missed our flight because of them). But this was nothing compared to all of the extra fees they charged to our credit cards weeks after we had already returned the car. Charges for services we never even purchased or had during our rental. When we tried contacting Master Kings directly about these fraudulent charges, they ignored us. Our credit card company did an investigation on these charges and found them to be fraud and refunded us the money. We have contacted the Portuguese authorities and reported Master Kings. Not sure if anything can or will be done legally to this Fraudulent Company but you should be cautious and aware of their practices.
BEWARE of Masterkings car rental !! check your car, check your keys and take pictures ! they rip you off by charging your credit car with false claims !
Wow!!! How is MasterKings still allowed to do business in Portugal? I wish I read the recent newest reviews before agreeing to rent a car from them. Over a month after I returned my car to them with reassurance from their agent that all looks good , I was randomly charged another 40 Euros on my credit card. I have written to them several times asking what this charge was for and why, and they have not responded. I have already informed my credit card company that this was fraud, and judging by many many recent reviews, it will be very easy for my credit card company to remove these fraudulent charges. Shame on you MasterKings and really, shame on Portugal for allowing criminals such as MasterKings to still operate and scam innocent tourists. Disgusted!
Terrible companie! Don t rent a car in Master King! And the employee was rude with us! We rent 2 cars and received extras charges and it s wrong. We trying contact companie unsuccessfully!

My flight was delayed and arrived couple of ours late, no service counter at the airport, tried to call from Morroco to warn of delay , their phone numbers provided dont work. Bought a Portuguese sim card . Operator said no services at these numbers, was I scammed?

Know what you re paying for. The company is a scam (to be expected given the price) and the employees are plain rude. Think twice before you book anything with them. Update: MasterKings is unfair to say at least. Im not denying the car scratch but described the attitude of your employees (supper arrogant), the value of the company (super intransparent quotes NOT corresponding to the scratch, which was even confirmed by your employee) and the overall experience as a customer (wrong car, waiting time, communication skills etc). Apparently you have my emails so check your files first and dont ask me to send you stuff. WATCH OUT PEOPLE THERE ARE AT LEAST 10 OTHER CAR RENTALS IN THE AIRPORT SO DONT BOOK WITH MASTERKINGS:
The rating says it all. Awful service, tons of hidden cost, intransparent terms and conditions. This company is the a nightmare to deal with when you want to return the car. Expect a lot of troubles, made up arguments and super unfriendly service. Its better to pay few euros more and book with any of the other car rentals available at the same spot if you dont want to ruin your holidays. Avoid those guys if possible.

Bei der Übergabe sehr unfreundlich. Tankregelung wurde voll/voll gebucht. Bekommen hatten wir einen wirklich komplett leeren Tank. Dazu musste noch 25 Euro Deposit für eventuelle Autobahngebühren geleistet werden. Nach über 3 Wochen noch keine Rückerstattung obwohl kein Kilometer Autobahn gefahren wurde. Alles sehr ärgerlich!!

Apart from providing excellent value for money (and no hidden add ons), their cars are prepared to a very high standard and their staff are always polite, friendly and helpful towards customers. We cannot fault their services, hence the 5* rating.

Bonjour, pouvez vous mexpliquer pourquoi lors de la réception de la voiture il y avait déjà ce choc ? Personne na fait le tour du véhicule avec nous pour la remise des clés. Cette photo date du jour. Et à été prise sur le parking. Nous avons payé un dommage qui existait déjà, nous ne lavons pas vu, mais heureusement que nous avons pris des photos de la voiture. I m a regular customer and have hired through zest for a number of years without difficulty. Our last hire in September 21 in Faro through Zest to MasterKings was smooth and seamless at the beginning and the end. During the hire we had a small problem with the cars handbrake. I called MasterKings Office in Faro and within 1.5 hours you had delivered a replacement vehicle to our apartment in Alvor. TOTALY EXCELLENT SERVICE!! . The staff at MasterKings were professional helpful and friendly as always and Diogo who replaced the car and received it at our holiday end was excellent. Even working out a way around that I had literally just filled the tank as the handbrake malfunctioned.
!!Long delays on collection and a £30 fine for returning a little early !! AVOID. Arranged rental to collect from Masterkings@ Faro airport. On arrival there were long queues with only 1 person working. He was doing all handovers, both collections and returns. approx 8 people in front of us collecting and returning cars, hence a long wait. The car was as booked and in good condition. On returning to the airport , due to the long wait for collection and potential delays at the airport due to Covid , we decided to leave our hotel a little earlier. This was to ensure that in the event of any delays dropping the car off, we would not miss our flight. When we arrived at the airport, there was again one person on the Masterkings desk. On this occasion we were the only people there ( although another two people arrived to return cars while we were handing our car over). The lady on the desk got our paperwork and said oh , you did not call to tell me you would be early, there is a 30 Euro fine for early return. I questioned this and explained the reasons why we were early, but to no avail. Apparently if it is in the contract, it is not a scam ! A 30 Euro fine for returning a vehicle on the correct day, just early, is a scam. They incurred no extra cost and if anything it gave them longer to prepare the car for the next victim. I would suggest you avoid Zest and Masterkings. Just another lowlife company exploiting Covid delays and and tourists
Just returned from 10 days in the Algarve and used Masterkings to hire a VW Polo, Great car had to pay 40 as we were coming in on a late flight so after 9pm is classed as a late pick up its not a hidden charge though as its written on the documents they send you before arrival. Returned yesterday with no problems would use them again next year.
The office is one of many dealerships located in a trailer in the middle of the parking lot at he Faro airport. Long lines trailing outside on a cold night wasn t fun. Then the guy directed me to the wrong car, so it wouldn t start. Then to the right car but I left my cell in the wrong car, had to return to retrieve it and Pay 5 to get out of the lot. It was a long night. So far, car works fine, and I got a good monthly rate through CarFlexi. Especially for automatic transmission.
3 Wochen nach Rückgabe des Wagens ohne Beanstandungen ist die Kaution immer noch nicht zurücküberwiesen. So kann man sein laufendes Geschäft auch finanzieren. Unglaublich!
Überhaupt keine Probleme. Abholung war einwandfrei, unkompliziert und schnell. Kein Versuch, Versicherungen zu verkaufen. Alles Top. Bei der Abgabe auch kein Problem mit früher Abgabe (9 Uhr statt 12 Uhr). Bisher wurden hierfür keine Gebühren erhoben. Zudem hatten wir einen Schaden verursacht. Da nicht unweit von unserem Schaden an der Karosserie vorher allerdings schon etwas kaputt war, hat man das einfach so akzeptiert. Einfach toll, freundlich, unkompliziert. Ich bin froh, nicht auf die negativen Bericht gehört zu haben, da es auch echt günstig war. P.S. wir haben vor der Abgabe, den Sand und den groben Dreck entfernt.
I actually thought this company was pretty good at first (minus the long queue and chaos trying to return the car before our flight home) the car was great, collection went smoothly, then one month after returning from Faro somebody from the company fraudulently accessed my data and tried to use my credit card !!! Needless to say I will not be trusting this company again!
Travel often to Faro and use Masterkings all the time ,odd time I went thru gold car and stood for one hour before even getting into office ,Carpark4 is as convenient as anywhere ,maybe if signage was improved so people would know exactly where to stand ,overall it s frustrating in the heat but I have found the staff very friendly and helpful cars are always first class and returning only takes a few minutes ,in 2019 I used them 4 times ,have already booked for Easter and February ,check out their own website sometimes better deal than using a broker .
Surprise arrivée à laéroport il vous appel, vous donne la voiture puis vous facture 20 pour vous livrer à laéroport, or je nai rien demandé, puis la caution du télépéage de 25 nai toujours pas remboursè, ça fait cher les surprise, je ne vous conseille pas ce louer de voiture.
We have used Masterkings through Zest Car Rental for seven years. At all times we have received excellent service at very reasonable prices. The vehicles are in first class condition and there is a good choice. We shall definitely use them in the future and do not hesitate recommending both companies to anyone wanting to hire a car from Faro airport.

The worst experience ever. When try to return car in the morning you have to pay extra 30Euro for early return at 7.30 in the morning, even if he is sitting there. Nobody told us that before, its not on the terms of rental. The guy at the office said its somewhere in the terms when reserve the car. Also very mean and not helpful at all when returning. Never again!
Accidentally rented a manual and they were cool enough to bring us an automatic(extra charges of course) the car was clean, hard time getting speed but manageable, paperwork and drop off was quick. Good experience.
These guys are the MasterKings of disappointment. Irrespective of which car you book online they send a different one. They have also not released the deposit funds and failed to deliver the car on time. Did not apologise or offer any such compensation for causing a severe disruption to our holiday. Go elsewhere!
Die Anlaufstelle war nicht auf Anhieb zu finden. Man muss Richtung P4 laufen, dort haben die einen kleinen Stand. Vorort wurden wir auf eine Kaution in Höhe von 3000 Euro hingewiesen, die nur per Kreditkarte hinterlegt werden konnte. Davon wurde bei der Online- Buchung kein Wort erwähnt. Hinzu kamen nochmals 25 Euro, da der Kreditkarten Besitzer extra als Fahrer mit angegeben werden musste. Ich weiß nicht, was die extra kosten rechtfertigen könnte. Gebucht und bezahlt haben wir einen Ford Transit und bekommen haben wir einen Peugeot. Nach dem ganzen hin und her haben wir das dann ohne ein Wort akzeptiert. Wir wollten schließlich endlich los. Nach Begutachtung des Autos sind uns auch noch Kratzer und Macken aufgefallen, die nicht aufgelistet waren. Ich würde diesen Laden nur bedingt empfehlen. Mit allen Vorkenntnissen und dem richtigen Auto hätte es eine bessere Bewertung gegeben.
There was a small mix up with my booking alongside me asking for a favour due to the pandemic and having to switch flights. Antonio and his team couldnt have been more helpful, solving all problems and delivering an efficient and trustworthy service. Would recommend them to anyone. Thank you for making this an easy part of my visit to the Algarve.
I rented a car with them in summer 2020. When I returned it they charged me 150 euros for missing documents I was never given. I rent in Faro multiple times a year and the companies never give the client the original insurance and registration documents, the contract covers these. I didn t think much of the fact that they weren t there. I should have read the small print on the contract! When I returned the car I was running late and they insisted I had been given these documents. They would not entertain any kind of discussion and wouldn t check with their office in case of a mistake etc. At the time, they refused to even tell me what documents were allegedly missing. They then refused to provide me with a proper tax receipt for the transaction, it was only after I chased them via Zest that one eventually appeared 2 weeks later. At the time they also refused to give me access to the complaints book. Companies operating in Portugal must provide a tax invoice when asked and must also provide a complaints booked when requested. Threes are legal requirements and I should not have had to chase them for this, irrespective of whether or not they had me trapped with the small print on their contract. I suspect I was targeted because I was late and they knew I didn t have time to kick up too big a fuss at the airport. Stay away from them if you can.

SCAMMED...... Car hired from Masterkings via ZEST from Faro Airport for 13 days on 31 August. Masterkings are NOT a normal car hire operation and do not operate from the Car Hire Offices and Secure Lot that other established companies do. They share a desk in a temporary, open air structure at the opposite end of the airport in Car Park 4. First impressions were of a totally disorganised outfit, with crowds of tourists surrounding this spot anxiously waiting for cars to be delivered (weather was 30degsC & no shade available). The queue to check in was long and the cars were not in the carpark so we had to wait an additional 30 minutes after signing documents for the car to be delivered to the airport. We inspected the car, a Ford Focus estate, and found a number of scratches to the front, rear and side. Went back to report the damage to the busy desk attendant who was not interested whatsoever and said he knew about the scratches, they were minor and he did not need to inspect them with us. I wasn t too concerned as we had booked through ZEST car rentals and had zero excess CDW included. It was a very poor start to the holiday but the car ran OK and we had no problems with it. We returned the car on 13 September in EXACTLY the same condition. The staff did not wish to inspect the car. A week later we noticed a credit card charge from Masterkings for 300 Euros. Phone calls and emails by us to Zest revealed it was for damage and on 22nd September Masterkings took photos showing a surface scratch to the rear (the same that we identified on 31st August that they were uninterested in). Several things are totally wrong here:- 1. ZEST s department dealing with customers refused to speak to us. (How bad is that in terms of customer service)? 2. Masterkings made no effort to contact us prior to taking 300 Euros! (Against best practice). 3. Masterkings provided photos dated 9 days after we returned the car. They have no photos dated 31st August or 13th September (the dates we took possession & returned the car). 4. ZEST have chosen to believe Masterkings but have NOT investigated the matter fairly. 5. We paid ZEST for a zero excess CDW so why should we pay anything anyway? Unless ZEST are part of a scam along with Masterkings ? This is a complete SCAM Masterkings and ZEST have provided no evidence that the car was scratch free before our rental . We strongly advise people to AVOID car hire from ZEST and Masterkings. We believe we have been subjected to FRAUD by Masterkings and ZEST are at best incompetent and at worst collaborators!
Un peu d attente pour la récupération de 2 vehicules et pour la préparation des documents. On laisse plusieurs souches de CB en caution. On y va un peu a reculons mais la prix est intéressant et aucun problème au retour. Les vl étaient en bon état, rien n a été débité sur les comptes. Prévoir un peu de temps pour la réintégration, il y a du monde. Je recommande et je passerai de nouveau avec cette marque.
Sehr schlechte erfahrungen mit dieser Firma ein total verbeultes Auto. Uns ist im Urlaub einer hinten drauf gefahren, die Polizei dabei gehabt und alles und trotz der zugegebenen schuld der verursacher haben wir unsere Kaution verlohren die wurde einfach einbehalten.
Bei uns war alles super, der Mietwagen war identisch mit der Buchung und sogar ein Neuwagen mit 7 km auf dem Tacho. Die Ausgabestation wirkt etwas provisorisch, aber es hat alles geklappt. Der Mitarbeiter war sehr freundlich. Bitte beachten: bei Abgabe vor der regulären Öffnungszeit wird eine Gebühr fällig, da ein Mitarbeiter dann früher kommen muss.
We booked online a rental car with Masterkings for our holiday in Portugal. We booked the car at Faro Airport. I used their online chat service to ask about extra insurance. I was served very quick although it was late at night. Low rental rates and we had a brand new car, pick up very quick.
