Highly recommended Very helpful during the pick up of the car. The car overall (small SUV) had few scratches etc but for the purpose of the trip, exploring coastline was perfect. I didn't take the insurance with the gold car so had to leave the deposit+fuel+motorway but it was returned within few hours after returning. Very fast service ( was warned that it could take weeks sometimes depending on bank...) Overall very positive experience and will definitely be using this company again. Thank you 👍
Even if the car was just 20k kilometers, it had a lot of marks, about 10 on the paper. Ordered a nissan SUV equivalent but I've got a smaller one. They tried to sell an extra insurance insistently even if I have my own one.it took about 1 week to take the deposit back. They charged me for a mandatory daily toll that was not in the original rental price even if I never used the highway
Guys I was very happy with the service. We had full insurance on the car (which I think is important) we had to leave a deposit for the gas and for the highway (if you bring the car back with full gas and don’t use the highway you will get the deposit back). Our flight was before the opening time so we left the key in the key box, everything went fine, only a few hours later I got my deposit back. The car was a Cabrio and was very clean, it had a few dents and scratches but nothing huge.
Second time using Faro Goldcar. Booked direct with Goldcar, opted for an Economy AA group vehicle since I was after value for money and didn’t need anything big. 15 min wait at office and no hard sell on the extra insurance (I have an annual policy with a 3rd party for overseas car hire). Charged extra for the e-toll machine which I think might be refundable as we didn’t use it (could be wrong on this). They did try to add and charge me for their ‘smart return’ service, told them to remove this which they did. I would advise not to rush when collecting the car and to take the time to understand what you’re being charged for before leaving. The car we got was a tired Fiat 500. It was a former Eurocar vehicle and had clocked up 78k miles. Lots of small areas of external damage which were all marked on the inspection report. Not an issue for me as I wasn’t looking for a pristine car. Drove OK for first few minutes and then amber warning lights started popping up related to stop/start, power steering, hill assist, and tyre monitor systems. I ignored them all for the 6 days, a couple of times power steering amber light went red and steering became heavy. For me this wasn’t a problem but for other drivers I can see it being an issue. I mentioned the amber lights to the desk after returning vehicle and the response was “it’s normal, you don’t get a car without the amber lights for the price you pay”. Fair enough I thought, the car got me everywhere I wanted to go so not an issue but worth keeping in mind when you hire an economy car from Goldcar. I would be ok using Goldcar again as they offer value for money and I’m familiar with the extras they and all hire car companies try and sell. Also familiar with their cars and know what to expect. Couldn’t give them more than 3 stars given all the amber light issues despite the value for money.
To get the car meant standing in line for nearly 2 hours. When we received it... after paying all of the extra costs the car looked worn. The radio didn't work as the touch screen was faulty. The car drove ok. On the last day before flying home the car wouldn't start meaning missing flights and having to rebook those as well as the rest of the extra costs included. The worst part was being told that while a taxi could be arranged it would not carry sports equipment... meaning forking out another 180 euros for a private airport transfer. I can honestly say that I hope to never use this company again.
Car was filthy inside and out. The filth inside was not from a previous rental, it was caked in from months. The first car had a misfire and just the general condition was poor. The second car was still very dirty and a manual when I had originally ordered an automatic.
Overall I had a surprisingly great experience - goldcar has really attractive prices, easy and hassle-free pickup and return procedure and the very rare option to pay for everything with a debit card (which usually is a deal breaker for people who don’t use credit cards, like me) I booked a compact class car for 6 days via goldcar website a week before renting it and chose the Key’n’go pack with all insurance options available. All I had to do at the airport was introduce the booking number, place the fuel/road toll deposit (~280 EUR in my case) and that’s it, the machine just gives you the keys. The car return is even simpler - you park it, somebody checks whether the tank is full and that’s it, you’re good to go, no questions asked, no arguments about previously unidentified dents and scratches, you go away and receive a confirmation via email a few mins later I could choose between 2 available models and went for a pretty much brand new Kia Stonic with ~12k km on it - the car was not only in a great condition but also surprisingly well equipped (lane assist, apple car play, cruise control etc, seemed like the highest trim level available) I can see that most of the bad reviews are related to post - rental card charges and unexpected payments (which generally seem to be the main problem for large rental companies) but as the terms and conditions clearly state (I recommend spending 15 mins and reading all of them BTW, saves you a lot of trouble), most of them will not apply if you go for the best insurance option. So my recommendation - either read the terms and take the risk of paying whatever the insurance excess is for whatever you or somebody else does to the car while you’re renting it or pay some more for key’n’go and don’t worry about anything As for negative points - I couldnt log into the goldcar app despite trying multiple times. Also, I couldn’t find any specific estimate of how high the fuel/road toll deposit is going to be and I found that out right before paying it while collecting the keys - not a big deal, but something that I think could easily be improved on. Also, Kia Stonic is technically a small city crossover (noticeably smaller than an Astra/Focus that the website was defining as compact class), but I’ll give it a pass since it was practically brand new (the interior still smelled like they do at dealerships) By the way I received the full deposit refund 2 days after finishing the rental and my debit card was charged for the via verde tolls 1 day after (with the charge list breakdown sent via email), so even that was super fast and transparent So yeah that’s it, if you want to rent a car here just get the key’n’go with full insurance pack and you should have a problem-free rental like I did, I also received a discount coupon so next time I’ll visit Faro I think I’ll know where to go :)
DO NOT RENT YOUR CAR HERE When we picked up our car, the lady at the desk first wanted to sell us an extra insurance (even when we repeatedly told her we already had an insurance). When we finally got to our car, we received a wreck. The car was severely damaged, with dents and scratches everywhere (even on the roof!). The boy accompanying us to the car remained silent (we think he did not speak any English). After repeatedly asking him to speak to someone, he took us back to the desk. This is where the nightmare happened. The lady at the desk was extremely rude and started cussing us out in Portuguese to her colleagues. She did not want to listen to us, nor did her colleagues. Eventually she answered saying that ‘it is a rental car, show me a car on the lot with no damage and you can take it’. Talk about good publicity… After asking the same questions five times, she finally asked another employee to accompany us to our car to write down all the damage the car had. Save yourself the trouble and book at another agency. Cheaper is not always the best choice. (The photos are only a fraction of all the damage we found on the car)
The credit card was in my name. My fault but the staff wouldn t let me add myself as a driver in order to pay. They also wouldn t let me rebook even though the car was available. They were unfriendly, unhelpful and left us sitting on the pavement. They made zero attempt to come to a solution even though we had cash, deposit and cards.

I was very satisfied with the car rental services and they even offered me another vehicle for the same price. My reserved vehicle was an electric Fiat 500, which I also received. When we collected our vehicle we were told there would be a hold on our card for a deposit that would be released on returning the vehicle. But when we got home we realised this money had been taken and not refunded. When we contacted Goldcar customer services they denied this and claimed it was just a hold, but our credit card operator confirmed the money had been taken. Goldcar then ignored us so we sought a refund via our card operator, but Goldcar disputed this. They then accepted that the money had been taken and provided an invoice we had not seen before showing that we had been charged for their total protection cover. We did not choose this when we collected the vehicle or was made aware this was added at the time. Therefore the money had been taken without our permission. I have raised this again with Goldcar for a refund, but they are ignoring us. Appalling fraudulent activity by Goldcar. They charge you for things you havent agreed to (or even know about), deny it and then ignore you. Beware and avoid.

Nel momento della consegna non cera una vera fila allo sportello tutto era disorganizzato e la gente saltava la fila, limpiegata era scortese nonostante avessi gia tutti i documenti pronti ed avessi comprato (con loro) la copertura totale, per questo purtroppo non ho fatto foto. Non mi è stato spiegato come e dove riconsegnare lauto, inoltre le ho fatto notare che il serbatoio non era pieno come mi aveva detto e mi ha risposto si lo sappiamo quello è il pieno non preoccuparti La macchina che ho ricevuto era vecchia, le ruote erano sgonfie e sono dovuto andare a farle gonfiare perché davvero la macchina non si riusciva a guidare in rotonda in quelle condizioni e poi le bocchette dellaria si staccavano quando cercavi di regolarle. Il giorno della riconsegna ho effettuato il pieno alla stazione di benzina dellaeroporto ma il veicolo era difettoso e nonostante il benzinaio avesse riempito tutto il serbatoio, il livello segnava solo 3/4 come avevo notato alla consegna, ho spiegato tutto alladdetta alla riconsegna che mi dice io devo scrivere che non ha rifornito e mi hanno fatto pagare la differenza Molto disonesti, volevo chiamare la polizia ma il mio volo partiva a breve

Wir haben vom 25.12.2024 bis zum 08.01.2025 ein Auto gemietet. Klar, man merkt, dass es eine der billigeren Autovermietungen ist, aber dennoch hatten wir ein recht neues, sauberes Auto. Die einzige Frechheit, wie auch schon viele Kunden bevor angemerkt haben, ist dass das Geld nicht gutgeschrieben wird. Wir haben das Auto vollgetankt abgegeben und warten auf die Erstattung der Tankrechnung. Das war am 08.01.2025, uns wurde gesagt, dass es 3 Tage dauert. Heute ist der 21.01.2025. es wird versucht nachträglich, Geld zu machen. Hier sollte man sehr vorsichtig sein.

Bonjour Très mauvaise impression de léquipe de Faro. Ils nont pas voulu prendre mon permis de conduire soit disant plus bon pour le Portugal.... Ma fille a un permis qui aurait pû permettre de prendre le véhicule.... Impossible de changer selon eux les informations dans lordinateur. Jai appelé Booking par qui javais réservé : les employés nont pas voulu leurs parler. Nous avons du trouver un autre loueur. Je ne ferais pas de publicité pour cette agence très désagréable qui avait un air narquois. Établissement à fuire. Si je pouvais mettre zéro

ACHTUNG AUSDRÜCKLICHE WARNUNG Hier wurde mir ein Reifenschaden untergejubelt, der schon bei Übergabe vorhanden war. Obwohl ich den Schaden fotografiert und bei Übergabe dokumentiert habe. Auf den beigefügten Bildern genau zu sehen. Der Mitarbeiter hält sogar die Taschenlampe auf den Defekt. Im Protokoll mit X gekennzeichnet. Also meine Empfehlung ALLE Reifen vor Abfahrt genau kontrollieren! Oder besser garnicht bei Goldcar Faro buchen. Seit über 15 Jahren Goldcar Erfahrung habe ich so etwas noch nicht erlebt. Reine Betrugsmasche, Null Kulanz, nur der Profit zählt. GOLDCAR NIE WIEDER. Ps: So ein Schrottfahrzeug mit 110.000 km hätte ich garnicht übernehmen sollen Die Erfahrung mit GOLDCAR hat dazu geführt, dass ich jetzt eine Rechtsschutzversicherung habe und in Zukunft in solchen Fällen klagen werde !
I have always rented from Goldcar in Spain and I have never had any problems. But in Portugal it is very different. The cars are all scratched and I was charged 173 for a scratch that I probably didnt make. Its shameful.

jetzt will ich neben den ganzen negativen Berichten die mir echt zu denken gegeben haben mal von meiner positiven Erfahrung berichten. Wir haben für echt günstiges Geld ein Auto gemietet, Goldcar ist einer der wenigen Anbieter der auch Debitcard akzeptiert. Wir haben uns gegen eine Versicherung entschieden welche die Vermittlerin uns bei Anmietung angeboten hat (natürlich versucht die Vermittlerin mit Horrorszenarien einem die Versicherung zu verkaufen - aber dass ist nun mal die Natur des Versicherer - geschäfts) Das Auto war Ok, hatte seinekleinen Kratzer und Beulen welche vorher dokumentiert waren und welche ich bei Abnahme auch nochmal zur Sicherheit fotografiert habe. Wer für billiges Geld immer das Beste vom Markt erwartet hat vielleicht auch irgendwas nicht verstanden ?!? bereits 2 Tage nach der Rückgabe war das blockierte Geld (Kaution) zurücküberwiesen.
Bit of a wait for the staff as there was only one guy trying to manage what felt like a whole planeful of people. Car was grand, extras only offered once and politely declined. Probably would use again and hope for a quicker queue. Whole process took just short of an hour unfortunately.
ACHTUNG von dieser Firma ist dringend abzuraten. Versuchen uns einen Schaden anzuhängen den es nie gab. Absolute Frechheit und einfach unverschämt. Wir haben zum Glück bei Check 24 mit allen Versicherungen gebucht, aber die Scherereien haben wir trotzdem. Lieber etwas mehr Geld ausgeben und bei einem seriösen Unternehmen sein Auto leihen

Das Abholen lief etwas holprig, weil man natürlich noch wieder zusätzliche Versicherungen verkaufen wollte. Ein paar kleine Extragebühren ( 150 Tankpauschale, die es später, wenn vollgetankt wieder zurückbekommt, 25 Mautgerät) später konnte ich den Wagen mitnehmen. Von außen schlecht gewaschen, so dass man Kratzer echt schwer erkennen konnte, von innen etwas schmutzig). Bei der Abgabe lief alles reibungslos und sehr gut. Die Kollegen waren immer sehr freundlich! Innerhalb von 10 Tagen bekam ich auch schon meine Kaution zurück

Ive used Goldcar Faro many times (no, Im not related ) Sure, some of their cars are a little older than the big corporations, but youll get a real bargain, great service and a quick check-in on return. You can also use debt cards, which is perfect and ALL the staff Ive encountered there have been cheerful and helpful. They do have a rapid check-out if youre not willing to wait a bit during their busiest periods. All in all, a great service. Also love the fact they have electric cars too!
Im November (Nebensaison) haben wir ein Auto gebucht. Mit einem 6 Monate alten Baby mussten wir fast 1 Stunde vor dem Eingang in einer Warteschlange stehen. Neben der Versicherungsbelastung werden zusätzliche Gebühren erhoben die zuvor nicht angemerkt waren. Diese sind Benzin und Mautpager Rücklage. Somit kommt man auf nochmals etwa 300 zzgl. der 1200 Schadenskaution. Unser Auto war voller Macken, Stoßfänger hatten ein unterschiedliches Spaltmass. Dringend Fotos und Videos machen, bei Abholung wie auch bei Rückgabe. Darauf achten das die Mängel auch eingetragen sind oder werden. Mangelnder Reifendruck wurde vom Auto immer wieder angezeigt. VISA Belastung von 15,07 wurde veranlasst. Wofür muss ich noch herausfinden, da die Endabrechnung 0 ergab. Auch hier Vorsicht und später nach dem Urlaub prüfen! Hier muss sich nun meine Bank kontaktieren. Ziemlich nervig das ganze. EDIT: ich habe versucht per Mail den Kundenservice zu erreichen, zweimal keine Chance. Die Email geht nicht durch, da die Mailadresse nicht erreichbar ist oder keine Mails angenommen werden.

Una opción a muy buen precio y con excelente servicio. Todo fue muy fácil y rápido. Tanto la recogida de las llaves en la máquina como la devolución del vehículo. La devolución del dinero dejado como depósito se hizo tan solo dos días después de finalizado el contrato. Definitivamente cuando regrese a Portugal serán la primera opción para alquilar vehículo.
Thieves. They made me pay for a scratch I didnt make, even though Ive contested it and sent them the pictures Ive taken when they gave it to me. The car was super scratched and they had the courage to let me pay whats been scratched by other people. Never again with them. Update As a response to your below comment, I have opened your incidents website but, as Ive rented the car in Portugal, Im redirected to contact [email protected], which I already have, but Ive been completely ignored by.
Très bonne expérience avec Goldcar Faro. Jai loué un véhicule 3 jours, sans assurance supplémentaire et tout sest bien passé. Lhôtesse était courtoise et ne ma pas forcé à prendre leur assurance additionnelle. Les choses sont bien expliquées (montants prélevés davance en cas dutilisation du boîtier autoroute ou si la voiture est rendue sans le plein). Lors de la réception de la voiture, lemployé fait bien le tour avec vous et vous envoie le compte rendu par mail. Au retour, lemployé a vérifié la voiture sans non plus regarder à la loupe. Le tout sest fait en quelques minutes. Pour éviter toute déconvenue, regardez bien tous les défauts et signalez les. Petite astuce qui peut être utile: votre assurance de carte bancaire peut prendre en charge les réparations ou franchises payées lors dune location de véhicule (vérifiez les conditions).

Scammers, warning! We booked a car at Faro airport with insurance and at the pickup the manager tried to sell us an extra insurance. We didnt want the double insurance and the manager felt insulted. We had to pay extra deposit for not using their insurance. When checking the car that we booked it had 33 damages on the form (dents/scratches/broken mirror, etc). On our request they reluctantly repaired the broken side mirrow with tape. After first asking us if we had tape with us (we came from the airplane!). We asked for another car but the manager informed us another car had more damages, just to get rid of us. And there we stood discussing with the amanager, with my family with 3 small children, tired from our journey and crying children that needed to go to bed. At the drop off a week later the manager informed me there was to much sand in the car (we went to the beach) and they charges us 50 euro extra from our credit card (no communication upfront the car had to be cleaned by the renter). Goldcar didnt reply to my various emails. We got scammed and after reading all the reviews we felt bad we didnt check Trustpilot and Google before. Do yourself a favor and avoid any stress, dont book at Goldcar at all.

Auto am 17.11. in Faro abgeholt. Check-out den Mitarbeiter auf alle Beulen, Kratzer, etc. hingewiesen, seiner Antwort: ist alles vermerkt, kein Problem (Fiat 500 mit 94T KM aud der Uhr). Rückgabe am 29.11. um 04:00 Uhr morgens, Auto abgestellt, Schlüssel im Briefkasten und fertig. Bin 150% sicher dass ich keine Beule, Kratzer, o.ä. verursacht habe, das Auto stand in der Tiefgarage, bei Fahrten immer drauf geachtet nicht neben den Bürgersteig zu parken, usw. definitiv bin ich mit dem wagen an der Bordsteigkante drauf gekommen. Jetzt kommt eine Rechnung über 120 wegen Kratzer an eine Felge, zu sehen sind nur die Kratzer, nicht das Auto oder der Kennzeichen, kann ersten nicht von mir sein, zweitens kann sich tatsälich um ein anderes Fiat 500 handel, es waren genügend FIATs auf dem Parkplatz, werde die Sache zu meinen Rechsanwalt geben, ich allein habe definitiv keine Chance.... Auf die Frage wie viele Leute diese Felge schon bezahlt habe ich kein Antwort bekommen. Finger WEG von Goldcar, liebe ein paar uros mehr ausgeben

Une catastrophe Nous avons loué une voiture dans un très mauvais état, l avons rendu sans rayure ou bosse en plus. Depuis le 26/10/24, date de retour du véhicule, nous n avons toujours pas récupéré nos 1490 de caution et on nous prélève 70 pour une soit disant rayure sur le rétroviseur Service client incompétent Pour votre tranquillité, fuyez et prenez les loueurs voisins!!

À fuir absolument, cette entreprise est une véritable arnaque ! Si je pouvais mettre zéro étoile, je le ferais sans hésitation. Voici mon expérience : Location d une Fiat 500 du 15/10 au 18/10 à l agence de l aéroport de Faro. Dès le départ, le véhicule nous a été remis dans un état lamentable : sale, non vérifié, et visiblement mal entretenu. Cela donne déjà une idée de leur sérieux. À la réception, le personnel semblait aimable au début, mais leur sourire a rapidement disparu dès que nous avons refusé leur fameuse assurance Goldcar. Leur attitude a immédiatement changé : pression commerciale et mépris ouvert. Et ce n est pas tout : deux mois après la fin de la location, nous recevons une facture de 200 pour une rayure déjà existante ! Heureusement, nous avons l habitude de photographier minutieusement le véhicule avant chaque location (et je recommande à tous de le faire !). Nos photos prouvent que cette rayure était bien présente avant notre prise en charge, et pire encore, elle est mentionnée sur le contrat. Malgré cela, cette société refuse catégoriquement d annuler ces frais abusifs. Ce comportement est honteusement malhonnête, frôlant l escroquerie pure et simple. Ils parient sur le fait que la plupart des clients n oseront pas contester ou n auront pas de preuves suffisantes. Malgré une expérience client réussie, cela fait maintenant 2mois que nous avons rendu le véhicule (dont on nous a confirmé que tout était en ordre) et nous navons toujours pas récupéré notre deposit de 1490 ! Après de nombreuses relances et du à des soucis apparemment technique de leur coté nous en sommes toujours au même point... Cest absolument inacceptable et non professionnel !!

Der Wagen war perfekt sauber und technisch top. Der Preis ist wirklich unschlagbar !! Der Wagen hatte viele kleine Dellen/Kratzer, die alle erklärt und dokumentiert wurden. Die Rückgabe war mit Schlüsseleinwurf, aber es wurde noch während des Heimfluges eine Alles OK Mail gesendet. Der Mietvorgang beim CheckIn war sachlich und reduziert. Ein kleines Faltblatt zum Auto ( Hybrid-Kraftstoff und die landestypischen Besonderheiten und typische Gefahrenquellen wäre sinnvoll ( Kreisverkehr, kurze Einfahrt ohne zu gewähren, übliches schneiden etc...) Dinge an die man sich gewöhnen muss. Ich werde wieder bei Goldcar buchen.
2nd time in a row that we have a nasty windshield inside. This is very dangerous when the sun is low and in front. This is a matter of security and needs to be taken into consideration. Regardless this topic, the vehicle and the personal were simply perfect and we will continue to use Goldcar for our next venues.

De auto was verre van schoon, er mankeerde van alles aan qua niet uitgebalanceerde wielen, computerstoringen etc, maar na een aantal dagen de auto te hebben terug gebracht en mijn klacht te hebben ingediend, kreeg ik een andere auto terug voor de resterende dagen en deze was helemaal perfect!

We highly recommend Goldcar. Every aspect from booking to pickup and return was excellent. Car seats for two toddlers ready for pickup and immaculate. Added bonus, they will hire to over-80s drivers. Second year we have booked with Goldcar Faro - both times excellent.
Would avoid like the plague - charged me for preexisting damage on a car that was an absolute heap and in awful condition, for which I had two separate pieces of clear evidence, alongside a video their staff member took but they wont use, and they stopped responding to me about the dispute and charged my card anyway for £140. Also accused me of doctoring evidence as anyone can edit a video/picture . Woeful
The outside of the vehicle was a lot scuffed, but that doesnt matter that much. I was rather surprised by the pressure to buy comprehensive insurance for such a damaged vehicle. In addition, I had purchased comprehensive insurance with Rentalcars, I had no idea that this information was not reaching the final service provider.
Fuyez, ils trouveront toujours quelque chose en plus à vous facturer cest de la grosse ARNAQUE ! Je reçois un mail 2 semaines après la locations pour quils me facturent un défaut déjà présent sur la carrosserie (qui avait déjà beaucoup dimperfections). Apparemment cest un problème récurrent, fuyez absolument ! Je compte porter plainte pour arnaque cest inadmissible, surtout venant dune agence professionnelle comme Goldcar !

Mise à jour de mon message suite à leur réponse : Comme vous pouvez le constater, Goldcar na rien a faire de ses clients car leur réponse est la réponse quils font à tout leur commentaire négatif, bien-sûr leur lien nous renvoie à un numéro de téléphone et personne ne répond. Message dorigine : Ahhh Goldcar, à fuir, attrapes touriste :) Je suis passé par easyjet pour la location de la voiture, finalement ce nest pas gage de sécurité, voici ma belle histoire. Je devais laisser une caution de 1200 euro mais le vendeur me propose une autre solution à 501.95 qui me permet davoir le télépéage inclus et le complément du carburant si je rends la voiture sans le plein. Je lui demande plusieurs fois si je récupère à la fin de la location les 501.95 moins le télépéage que jai utilisé et moins lessence qui manque à la restitution il mindique que oui en me lécrivant sur une feuille (en copie avec ce message), il ne ma jamais parlé de la couverture extra. Je paie et je signe mais jai quand même des doutes quand je lis la facture qui ne dit pas la même chose que son discours. Je rends la voiture une semaine après, je demande comment cela se passe, on mindique que je serai remboursé sous 6 jours (pratique je ne serai plus sur place). Finalement 6 jours après en France, je reçois un virement de 288 euro et si on fait la différence on voit quils ont pris 213.95 . en reprenant la facture, je lis quil ma vendu des extras (pièce jointe). Ce nest pas très fair play tout cela, vous jouez sur les mots. Dommage car tout le reste sest bien passé, je nirai plus voir ces gens malhonnêtes. Jespère que easyJet va arrêter de proposer cette agence car cela nest pas sérieux.

A fuir des voleurs !!!!!! Nous avons loué une Fiat 500. Pour commencer nous avons eu des frais obligatoires de 34 (autoroute essence...) Nous avons eu une voiture complètement rayée, cabossée et sale. Nous avions pourtant fait mettre des croix partout sur le contrat. Le dernier jour nous avons rendu la voiture de bonne heure et avons donc déposé les clés dans la boîte à clés (pas de contrôle) A notre grande surprise ils ont réussi à trouver une rayure (parmi toutes les autres). Nous avons été facturé de 105 . Je ne vous recommande pas du tout ce loueur !!!
Nooit weer bij Goldcar. Via een boekingsplatform geboekt inclusief verzekering. Kom je de auto ophalen, dan proberen ze je een extra verzekering te laten afsluiten. En wordt gezegd dat die je hebt afgesloten van het boekingsplatform is en niet voor goldcar. Dit hebben we gelukkig geweigerd. Verder komen er wel extra kosten bij voor het tolkastje, wat we niet wilden hebben, maar wat verplicht was. Verder nog kosten voor luchthaven service supplement en operationele en service kosten. Totaal 30,45. Je krijgt een afgetrapte auto mee die niet fatsoenlijk schakeld. Verder probeerden ze een betere auto voor 10 per dag aan te smeren! De medewerker was zeer onduidelijk en ongeduldig. Het enige dat vlot ging was het inleveren van de auto en de terugbetaling van de borg.

Muss leider meine Bewertung korrigieren. Alt und mit 5 Sternen: Schnelle Bearbeitung und Übergabe. Alles Bestens. Abgabe mit Schlüsselbox auch problemlos Neu Habe leider 2 Wochen nach Abgabe Mail erhalten, in der mir Schaden an einer Felge in Rechnung gestellt wird. Hatte leider keine Fotos bei Übergabe gemacht und mich auf Aussagen der Mitarbeiterin verlassen. Im ersten Protokoll waren auch 4 Schäden an Felgen aufgelistet. Habe noch ein weiteres unterschreiben, was identisch sein sollte aber nur noch an 3 Felgen einen Schaden aufwies. Insgesamt hatte ich noch nie (ist mein 15. Mietauto) ein Auto, das so viele kleine und größere Schrammen und Beulen aufwies. Lehre: Egal was man euch erzählt von allen großen und vor allem Kleinen Sachen ein Foto machen

Actually pretty good rental. But, as with any rental - you need be extra suspicious to details BEFORE you drive out. Check car inside out, make everything understandable about car condition, but this information into your contract. And then you can drive.

Attention. Agence de location à fuir absolument. J ai loué une voiture qui comportait de nombreux chocs de carrosserie constatés lors de la prise en charge. Après restitution on veut me facturer une rayure qui existait préalablement. J ai contesté mais nourris peu d espoir à ce sujet. Il semblerait que je ne sois pas le premier à qui arrive cette mésaventure. Précision complémentaire. J ai 70 ans et loue des voitures depuis de nombreuses années sans problème. Il faut savoir qu en cas de contestation une fois l empreinte CB effectuée il n y a aucun moyen de faire opposition au débit. Je viens de l apprendre à mes dépens.

Sehr gute und preiswerte Alternative, direkt vom Airport aus zugänglich. Goldcar scheinen die von Europcar etc. ausgemusterten Fahrzeuge weiter zu verwenden, was u.a. die vergleichsweise günstigen Preise erklärt. Ich hatte in diversen Anmietungen noch nie ein äußerlich makelloses, sauberes Fahrzeug erhalten. Innen sind die Autos allerdings i.d.R. gepflegt, die Funktionalität ist einwandfrei. Der Service erweist sich als unkompliziert, freundlich und kompetent.
In general, pleasant team and efficient rental. Easy to pick up and straight forward to return in Faro airport. It was good to have a reasonably priced zero excess. There were a few points, though, worth noted. I rented with zero excess, via Autoeurope UK. The terms said 150 euro deposit on credit card, but I was asked to pay more than double that, around 275 british pounds, and this amount was physically charged (not blocked as pending!) on my credit card! It is full week after the rental finished, but I still wait for the deposit to be refunded. The car itself was clean and new with tank full. There were multiple, rather small, damages to the body, like small dents and scratches. They were not essential for zero excess, and I was not provided with damage sheet at pick up, however, for other type on insurances might be valid concerns, as some of the damages were indicated in the rental sheet I received after the end of rental, but were not so obvious to me when I inspected the car at pickup, so be vigilant or buy zero excess policy (I noticed that cars in Algarve had lots of small and even significant scratches, dents and other damages to their bodies in general, likely many drive being not very sober) . Tive uma péssima experiência de locação logo no começo com a Goldcar. Primeiro não aceitaram meu cartão VISA porque ele não tem os números impressos (sendo que no cartão está meu nome impresso como é pedido nos termos de locação). Em nenhum lugar desses termos consta que os números precisam estar impressos também no cartão. Mostrei para a atendente que só constava a exigência do nome impresso (e não os números) mas, mesmo assim, ela disse que não podia. Estamos no mundo digital mas parece que a Goldcar ainda usa carta registrada. Depois do aborrecimento inicial, a atendente demorou quase uma hora pra finalizar a locação. Isso que eu já tinha feito toda a digitalização de documentos e cadastro do cartão que ela negou (não por falta de fundos, que fique claro). Assim eu não consegui realizar a minha viagem porque não consegui cumprir o horário de saída para tal. Thanks for nothing Goldcar

Alors oui les prix sont pas chers mais cette agence est à fuir !!!! Cest une arnaque aux touristes français . Jai loué une voiture qui avait déjà 35dégats de signalés. À mon retour le matin juste avant de prendre lavion lemployé vérifie létat de la voiture et direct il me dit que jai abîmé un pneu( bout de gomme arrachée) ça me coûte 133 . Dans cette agence des employés parlent français mais bien sûr quand ça les arrange !!! Si je ne payais pas cétait prélevé quand même avec ma caution. Je nai aucun moyen de me défendre mais je nai pas abîmé ce pneu ! 1ere Expérience au Portugal et bien ça ne donne pas envie dy retourner en tout cas jamais dans cette compagnie !!!! Jai déjà loué des voitures cest bien la 1re fois quune voiture est aussi abîmée et sale .A FUIR !!!!!

Voleur à fuir. Il nous donne une voiture salle et remplis de boss et de rayure, nous faisons le tour de la voiture avec lagent sur place afin de constater toutes les rayures du véhicule, celui ci rigole car, il ny a plus de place sur son papier pour en noter de nouvelle, tellement cette voiture est abîmé. A notre retour à laéroport, il nous montre une rayure déjà existante et qui est clairement déjà stipulé sur leur papier etnpus accuse de cette rayure, et malgré les preuve que cette rayure etait déjà presente, ils nous ont débiter 230 2 mois après . C franchement la honte. Ont voyage Énormément et il ny a que au Portugal, que nous avons se genre de problème. Un conseil...prenez votre voiture en photo devant lagent sur toute ces face pour quil ne puisse rien avoir à redire. Nous allons faire appel à un avocat pour cela. Cest honteux !!!

El servicio de recogida de las llaves del vehículo fue muy bueno. Una vez habías rellenado todos los datos online, desde el email que recibes anterior a la llegada al destino, hay una máquina de recogida de llaves automática, muy rápida y eficiente. En cualquier caso, para cualquier consulta, en la oficina nos atendieron amablemente y nos ayudaron con todo. La devolución del coche fue muy rápida, aparcamos el coche en la zona de Goldcar del aeropuerto, nos atendió un señor al que dimos las llaves y todo resuelto. Un servicio amable, rápido y eficiente
A la récupération du véhicule finalement pas mal de frais non prévus et non annoncés mais obligatoire. Il ma été facturé une rayure qui figurait déjà sur le véhicule lors de sa récupération. Jai fourni les preuves au service client cependant ils ont quand même prélèver sur mon compte sans autorisation la somme prévu pour la réparation. Jattends le remboursement de cette somme depuis 3 mois. Ils ont bloqués mon adresse mail.
Will not rent here again! Never before I had a rental going like this.... First everything was booked online including extra driver and insurance. With conformation all was covered and payed for. But when I arrived at Gold Car Faro needed to pay extra for the 2nd driver (which already was payed) also they tried to get me an extra insurance with the argument with this one its no question asked, the other one is realy unfriendley with providing proof. The extra insurance was 196euros. and all of a sudden the emplyee started talking portugese to her colleage, very clearly about me. Her English was acceptable at first(its also not my native language) but all of a sudden her English became worst. She did not understand me. Than the car. Booked a 2016 Ford Fiesta and got stuck with a very shady Opel Corsa. It was a newer model but very very basic and way underpowerd in the portugese landscape...so read a fuel consumer! The car only had 22000km on it but it was scratched and dented up all over the place. On a positive note the guy at the car really took the time to note all the dents and scratched and was ever so friendly (Employer of the month?) So after 1 hour we were finaly set to drive. The gastank was only just barely filled to top, when we drove of the airport it dropped instantly. After the first day I tried to rinse the windows and the nozzles where blocked. Seems like a hazard? Also no spare tire and realy doubting it had all the stuff requered by Portugese roadlaws. Taking the car back after our holliday the guy was very serious, no laugh not friendly at all, almost intimidating even. The reservation on my creditcard was handled correct. But they kept spamming me to give a 4 or 5 star review. Even got a mail from the manager about a review. I had a question about the reservation on creditcard but she just stopped to reply midway on our mailexchange. So I realy cant give a positive review. 1. Dont try to get me to pay extra when I was ensured all was in order pre-arriving 2.Speak youre languages if you want to operate international and NEVER, NEVER, EVER talk about clients in youre native language...they might understand... 3.That car was NOT in the same category as the one reserved (There wasnt even a Ford Fiesta present in the whole lot) 4. Do not ever rent out that piece of crap again! Youre buisness is to rent cars, so RENT GOOD CARS! 5. Have some decency towards other human beings (and even pay you for service) 6. If you put all that effort of begging for a 4/5 star review into some costumer service and better cars perhaps those reviews will follow automaticly? You only get 1 star overall! The guy giving out the cars on the parkinglot was the only one that gets people and how to interact. He personaly made Goldcar get 1 more star, but its realy for him! Very disapointed with this rental! Pm Google seems to block this review because of profanity??? I would like google to point out this profanity, there is none! This review is the thruth on how this company scams people, and google is covering this up (again!)

I have been renting cars for private and business purposes for over 30 years. I have never experienced such unfriendly behavior as here at Goldcar. The car that was handed over was really scratched, dented and generally not in a good condition. I would never book here again.
Have used Goldcar twice and never again. Each time there is an added, undisclosed cost. At Faro airport its the fact they tell you that you have to pay a DEPOSIT for the gadget that pays if you use Toll roads and if you havent used any Toll roads then this cost will be refunded. Afterwards you wont see any refund for this and will now be told that this was a charge for hiring the gadget. As always from Goldcar more lies & another lost customer. Since the original post Goldcar have refunded the charge so happy to use them again on this basis

Good morning I thank you for your service and prompt return of the security deposit however please could you advise as to why I paid £1297.63 but returned £1230.52. I complied to full to full on fuel and paid rental amount of 35.93. So please would you explain the short amount of £67.10!
Picked up our car in Faro, the front desk guy was very good and helpful, the girl on the lot was not. She was not helpful at all, when I noted a missing cover in the trunk all she said was not my job see the manager. I asked her to make a note in the agreement that it was missing and again she said not my job what exactly is your job then? It would also be helpful if you suggested areas to check for damages (like underneath the bumpers) where a customer might not think to look. The pickup lot was dark and made it difficult to check for damage. The car was clean but not what we had booked. The drop off in Lisbon was quick and easy.

Goldcar is one of the most dodgy rent a car that I ever used. Is now the 2nd time that they charge extras without your permission. The 1st time the tank was one bar less and Goldcar charged me £60 extra for £5 missing of petrol and now I have to pay a £250 insurance that I didnt agree and somehow they say I signed the contract. In 20yrs I travelled home and always rent a car, never paid full insurance because I dont need it since I have other insurances that cover me for any inconvenience. Also the card was fifty and the gears were jumping while driving. I made a comment when I dropped the car that probably nobody cares. PLEASE IF YOU RENT A CAR IN ALGARVE DONT USE GOLDCAR, or be AWARE OF THE SCAM!! I tried to call to find out why I was charged £250 and all I got was an arrogant guy that make me feel that I WAS the STUPID one. GOLD CAR NEVER MORE.

Gute Erfahrung! Wir wollten so günstig wie möglich ein Auto leihen. Es hat alles gut geklappt, die Rückgabe war problemlos und die Kaution wurde schnell rücküberwiesen. Ein Tipp: wenn man sich geld sparen möchte, kann msn direkt über Uber oder andere Portale zu günstigen Konditionen ein auto mieten
Location faite en ligne, sans franchise ni dépôt de garantie. Le prix est plus élevé, mais sans souci. Réception rapide via une borne automatique. Attention, la borne demande une carte de crédit pour les frais de péage. Une réceptionniste ma aidé à trouver mon véhicule car ils en ont beaucoup. Le retour a été très rapide : à mon arrivée au parking, une réceptionniste est venue directement récupérer les clés et ma dit au revoir. Service très correct, seul bémol, la voiture était un peu sale, y compris le pare-brise.
Ganz schlimme Erfahrung. Erst wird versucht eine Versicherung unterzujubeln die man schon längst hat, in meinem Fall über die Anmietung bei Check24. Dann bekam ich eine runtergekommenes Fahrzeug mit ca. 40 (!!!) Beschädigungen (Siehe Protokoll in den Bildern). Ich empfinde es als peinlich ein solches Auto zu vermieten. Und natürlich drängt sich die Frage auf, ob die Fahrzeugmieter vor mir für die Schäden bezahlt, diese aber am Ende gar nicht beseitigt worden sind......Bei der Rückgabe wurde mir dann erklärt o.k., was für mich bedeutet, alles o.k. und ich bekam dann ein Rechnung für angebliche Nichtbetankung (11 EUR Sprit / 50 EUR !!! Strafe). Finger Weg von diesem Autovermieter.

arrived at faro airport to collect our car but were running 15 mins late but when we arrived they were open but had a piece of paper on the door saying 40 euro charge after 11 as they were supposed to be closed so i queried it they said if i had booked car hire and said 11.01 as arrival time i would have no charge but how does that work if they were open

One of the better car hire experiences I have had staff were friendly, helpful, and the experience was fuss free. Fernando (with the resident cat Zeus) assisted me and was very helpful. Five stars!
Very good price, good car in good condition, easy to find the rental location on the airport and easy to return it out of hours. Unfortunately had to wait to receive the car though due to it being cleaned.

Une misère ! Pensez a prendre votre siège auto si bb voyage avec vous le prix de la location étant élevé. Personnel pas aimable , pas arrangeant , 3heures à lagence pour simplement retirer un véhicule payer et réserver en ligne. En plus de cela ils exigent une carte de CREDIT pour le paiement et vous devez avoir un plafond suffisant pour verser la caution de suite . Si vous avec une carte DÉBIT tout se complique . Cest la misère !!!! Et on veut à tout prix vous vendre un pass pour le péage ne vous faites pas avoir ! En bref, c était kk , EN restant poli bien évidemment. Cumulez à cela un accueil vraiment pourri , cest à se demander si les touristes sont les bienvenus . Cétait mon expérience ! Et cest avec bienveillance que je ne recommanderai pas cette agence de location. En espérant pour vous qu un jour vous saurez vous remettre suffisamment en question pour pouvoir améliorer la qualité de vos services

Everything went smoothly as always. I was greeted by a very pleasant young lady, who was very professional and helpful. Picking up and dropping off the vehicle was quick and efficient, thanks to the staff on hand. I honestly cannot fault Goldcar and I will continue to use this service as well as recommend them to friends and family. Recommended to everyone really. A++++
Friendly staff and generally a good experience. Car was not new, had over 100k on the clock, but was in good condition and at a very reasonable price. Pickup and drop off was effortless. Would definitely recommend.

attention ils forcent les upgrade et facturent des frais à la fin sans raison évidente. Ne laissez pas les clés à la fin sans faire le tour, car ils veulent pas le faire faute de temps, mais vous facturent des réparations ensuite. si vous parlez pas portugais ou anglais, ils vous entubent encore plus... bref, pas sérieux

Terrible service, rude lady at desk tried to charge us for everything possible fee, she said 94 for insurance, but she put 119 on terminal, she charged 268 for Toll and gas deposit, and still i did not get back my money, even if i returned car with full tank! At the end she said to review her after rentall but only 8 or more on 10 scale...wich of course i did not do. If i will not get my money back there will be legal actions!
Location faire via carjet. Moins pire que ce que les commentaires laissent paraître. Certains frais en plus au vu du tarifs prévu sur le site ( boîtier autoroute...). S vous rendez la voiture propre pas de soucis.
Une agence que je ne connaissais pas mais vers laquelle je me tournerai pour ma prochaine location.
Apres avoir paye un supplement pour le pass autoroute forfaitaire, retour de la compagnie de location nous demandant de faire les demarches pour regler individuellement les peages sur une periode de 15j sand assistance, detail ni information supplementaire.

Vigyázz! Össze vissza karcolt, vert, sérült autót adnak, majd a végén rád fogják és lehúznak ! Mindenképpen minden oldalról fényképezd le a kocsit és csak úgy vedd át. Beterhelnek kb 1700 eurót a hitelkártyán, erre is készülj, mert nincsen leírva sehol. Ha nem közvetlenül foglalsz akkor vigyázz kinek a nevét és email címét használod mert az lesz a bérl hiába fizeti ki más. Szándékosan siettetnek és nem életszer , hogy az összes hibát feltüntesd a lapon. Ezen felül rugalmatlanok - kártya adatok nélkül szerettünk volna még vezet t cserélni, de nem hagyták. Mindezt teljesen udvariatlan és lekezel stílusban.
Lees hier veel negatieve reacties, die ervaring heb ik niet gehad. Laatst een auto gehuurd in Faro, lees de kleine letters! Er wordt inderdaad een flinke borg ingehouden op de creditcard + extra voor de tol en benzine. De auto zelf was in oke toestand (voor de prijs). En netjes weer alles terug ontvangen op mijn kaart na twee dagen. Lees gewoon de voorwaarden en maak je keuze. Ik was tevreden.
DO NOT GET A CAR FROM HERE !!!! Got a car old Scoda 97k on clock bashed scratches everywhere not even washed. Late flight in the dark and was travelling a fair way so could not return landed up with charges £301 for hire ROBBERS
STAY AWAY FROM THIS COMPANY! They have found a great way to earn extra money by doing the pickup of the car quickly and giving you the feeling that when you ask something about the status and damage of the car that what you do is very strange and uncommon. You end up signing off, but you will then have a problem when you return the car. They will then say that certain things were supposed to be in the car, which were never in there in the first place. They didnt review the inside of the car with me at all at pickup and apparently you sign off without knowing and showing a complete list of items. They then force you to pay that lost item which was never there from the start. They get very aggressive with you if you try to explain what happens and treaten to call security. If you then file a complaint afterwards the Customer Service doesnt even read your complaint and only send standard replies that dont even provide answers to questions you ask. I think they have found a great business model to make some extra money and they are not ashamed at all to use this at any expense. I can already tell you, that below this post they will respond with their standard reply that you will need to contact their Customer Service like they do with all bad reviews, but I can tell you they will not do anything or help you. I cant hardly imagine someone working at this company feels pride in the way they work and how they treat their customer. STAY AWAY FROM THIS COMPANY AS FAR AS POSSIBLE!
All very good just the charges and deposits is a worry. The insurance offered is a little steep. I was able to get full warranty insurance for less than £2 per day.
