Had Fiat Panda from Carwave for Madeira holidays, and I can only recommend their friendly services! Car pickup and return at the airport was easy and the car itself was almost new, without any issues whatsoever. Insurance is included in the rental price, there is also option to purchase full coverage with no deposit required. I took only the included insurance as I trust my driving skills :) and the deposit got returned straight after the car return. Driving in Madeira can be challenging due to steep hills and sometimes narrow roads, but other drivers are relaxed and driving was stress-free

Rented a car from here for my trip with some friends, staff was amazing showed me the in and outs of the car we rented. Also provided us with an interactive map of the island and spots to visit. Quick to reply and respond if an issue arose. Car broke down due to my mistranslation of fuel type but they were understanding and offered us a new car for the remainder of our rental period. I had a great experience at Carwave this week. We rented an automatic and after reserving online the night before, the whole process took about 10 minutes to get our keys when we got to the office. No credit card or hold was required. After driving around the island for a day, we noticed a funny sound coming from the left rear brake. I texted Johnny at Carwave and he told me to take the car by in the morning to look at it. When I arrived the next day he promptly swapped our car with another one of the same model and we were back on the road. Johnnys customer service was outstanding and the rental car was in great condition. I will be using Carwave for all my rental needs any time I am in Madeira!

We rented a car for 2 days to travel around the island and the experience was seamless. After trying to rent an automatic car on the day at a few different places we found Carwave through good reviews. We managed to arrange an automatic car within a few hours very easily. Not having much experience with steep and windy roads I found the car very easy and enjoyable to drive. We got a flat tire a few hours before returning the car and they were very helpful and understanding about the situation. Carlos was also very personable and willing to help with recommendations at any time.

Hands down the best rental company I have had the pleasure of dealing with. Carlos and Johnny could not have made things easier. Pickup and drop off at the airport was seamless. In addition, the car was also involved in a hit and run while it was parked - I messaged Carlos and Johnny immediately and they responded by asking if the car was drivable and if so, don t worry and enjoy your trip that alone put me at ease to be able to enjoy the car and Madeira. 10/10 highly recommend!!

Simply excellent experience. We were met right outside the arrivals area at the airport with a fresh and spotlessly clean car. Carwave also provided an interactive map of numerous sights around Madeira. Dropoff was similarly seamless -- right outside the departures area at the airport at 4:30 am. Highly recommend and we would rent from these helpful folks every time.

We ve rented a scooter for a fee days from Carwave. The owner and the employees are very friendly and helpful. We were given recommendations where to go and eat. We rented a brand new scooter and Carlos (owner) offered to buy us a phone holder, so we can easier navigate through the island! Es war ein sehr unkomplizierter und angenehmer Vorgang. Wir haben das letzte verfügbare Fahrzeug spontan einen Tag vorher mieten können. It was our first time on Madeira and there are a lot of car rentals! I checked reviews, decided for this one and we dont regret! I booked the car online, payed in advance and when I came for pick-up, it was just 5 min. Johnny took me and my wife to the car and explained everything. We rented Fiat panda, on some hills it was a little bit rough but in the end the car made it. I connected my smartphone with car, it worked perfectly. So if youre first time on Madeira or youve been here before, from my experience I can highly recommend this car rental.

We were a bit worried to rent a car in Madeira however we got a lovely brand new car from Carlos with full insurance which gave us the peace of mind for the entire trip. Carlos was super nice and helpful, giving us tips of where to go, where to eat which definitely helped us. The entire process was super easy and I would definitely use their cars every time I would go back to Funchal.

This might be the first time Im reviewing a Biz, I didnt actually get to use ! Our hotel recommended Carwave, but Im still skeptical by nature. I saw a lot of reviews mentioning Carlos, the owner, and how nice he is, Yada, Yada, Yada. So many reviews are fake today; you have to wonder... I tried booking a car but it was a little short notice, (my fault) and they were out of cars. The owner, CARLOS, got back to me and connected me with a few other companies he trusted and recommended. This was about 7 or 8 pm his time on a Friday night. He also sent me his recommend, Local Guide Map, and we had a nice conversation. He said his biggest problem is getting more cars, and I see why. He also has an Excellent website, which is very easy to navigate, pick days, times & and locations, etc. I will be using Carwave next time around, and theyre saved on my Google Maps !

We rented a car in June for two weeks. The pick-up was very simple - they called us after our flight and drove the car to us at the airport. The cars are well-equipped and new, without any issues. The drop-off was very simple as well - we returned the keys and thats it. All communication is clear. There were no hiccups whatsoever with the car or the company, which made our 2 week stay very enjoyable.

Very decent and reliable local car rental. I was equipped with a Seat Arona: the process was fast, rental was cheap enough, right at arrivals, no bs, no credit card, just cash and legal agreement. Dropped a car for a minute at departures. The car was quite new and gave me around 700km on Madeira for a week at ease. I caught up on a Reddit ad from the car rental itself. No regrets, very highly recommend. ps. don t forget to take a cable for carplay, arona had type-c.

I was a bit nervous and hesitant to rent a car and drive in Madeira, but im so glad we did. Both cars we rented - Seat Ibiza and Seat Arona - were new and perfect condition, had zero problems going steep hills in the mountains. That made the driving smooth and easy and we were able to access beautiful places of the island which would be hard/impossible with public transport or tours. Everything is very organised from the start when we were choosing which car to drive all information with car specifications was introduced that it would be easier to choose the model. Also when we came to Madeira we agreed that we will come to company current place to take the car, but the worker Carlos made everything so easy and delivered the car to the hotel. Brand new car! Also the last day we had to deliver car back at 19:00 pm, but company agreed to let us be witj the car untill 21:00pm that we could lead the last sunset.. Also it was not just about renting the car but the companies was helpful to say where is the nest to eat in funshal and what kind of routes to choose for the trip. I rented a car for 4 days in Madeira to travel around the island and this was the place recommended to me. It lived up to and exceeded my expectations. I wanted an automatic Yaris and I got a new hybrid, it was a lovely car and a joy to drive. Some of the roads in Madeira are the steepest Ive ever driven but not a single one was a problem for this car, it was very reassuring to know that this car could drive everywhere with ease. It also gave me the freedom to drive wherever I wanted on the island and to discover some amazing places. I also need to say a huge thanks to Carlos, he was so helpful every step of the way, gave me a great list of things to see and eat in, on the island and even kindly dropped me off to my next destination after I dropped the car back. He was very friendly and really nice to chat to. If youre looking for a great place to rent a car this is the place to do it. If I return to Madeira I will be booking a car with him again. We cannot recommend Carwave enough. Easy booking, flexible and forthcoming. We had our plane diverted and arrived in Madeira a day late, Carlos was kind enough not to charge us for the day we didnt use the car, although other companies wouldnt be this flexible. We really appreciated the gesture and would definitely use Carwave again. The car was great to use in the mountain roads, so powerful and appropriate for the roads (these cam be challenging some places, even for experienced drivers). The car was almost new and very well looked after. Such a convenient pick un and drop off. This will not be the last we see of Madeira or Carwave, Im sure :)

We had a fantastic experience with Carwave! Carlos was extremely friendly and easy to communicate with. He waited at the airport for us even after our flight and baggage claim was delayed. He also provided a list of places to visit on the island which was very helpful. Our car was the Hyundai i30 which was more than capable of handling the steep and winding roads of Madeira. Air con and Bluetooth connection made our lives easier. Car drop off was nice and easy. We agreed a time to meet at the airport - Carlos was waiting and exchange was super quick! Overall great experience with Carwave. I would happily recommend to anyone visiting this beautiful island.

We fully recommend this car rental, the agreement was great, we got the new car Ibiza FR in excellent condition, the strong one for Madeira hills The picking up and returning the car was easy and quick, no hidden fees, no credit card deposit, the fully car insurance included. Excellent service, with friendly owners who are ready to help you at any time. We rented a Toyota Corolla for two days. The car was in excellent condition: new, with good maneuverability and all amenities. The car behaved perfectly on sharp turns in the mountains and on sharp climbs. They also left us a full tank of gas. Another nice bonus: with this service, you don t need to leave a large deposit. I recommend it and next time I will also come here.

We rented over Christmas 2023, Carlos was absolutely wonderful! His service was so genuine; he greeted us with a smile and a warm welcome to Madeira, and whatsapped a list of places to visit and restaurant recommendations. The car was excellent; no hidden costs, insurance included, unlimited mileage. We loved the sport mode feature to give us that extra boost up the hilly terrain! We are so glad we chose to rent with this company, we got engaged during our trip so will definitely be returning and using Carwave again. 100% recommend.

O detalhe da cilindrada do carro não deve ser descurado na Madeira. O Corola, com 1800cc, portou-se bem, mas imagino as dificuldades de um carro com mejor potência. El coche estaba perfectísimo, impoluto, con buena potencia para las cuestas y comodísimo. Tuvimos una mala experiencia con otra compañía al llegar al aeropuerto. Guys with the CARWAVE are great. We had a seat (115hp) with completely full insurance (no additional fees and any hidden traps - tho i didnt need to use insurance). Car was Clean and new (about 1600km). We also get a list of go-to places. Everything was smooth and easy. I recommend this firm. Would take them again if ill arrive at Madeira in the future.

When we landed, Carlos was already at the airport with the vehicle, and we were off to the races shortly after our arrival. They also gave us some wonderful recommendations on what to see while in Madeira, as well as restaurants, etc. The car was in wonderful condition and drove well.
