Very friendly people. When they were going to return the car to me, they called and since we were more or less lost, they saw where we were and came to pick us up and take us to the hotel. The car was new, it was clean and we drove 400 km around the island. If I return to the island, this is the company I want to travel with. Thank you very much for everything.

Just a perfect experience! It was easy, quick and convenient. Everything you want from a car rental! The car was in flawless condition and we had no problem with it whatsoever. They even brought the car right in front of our apartment and picked it up from the airport later on for a small fee. Would choose them again next time!

Quick and easy to book. Clean and tidy car but I did notice that there was a low tyre pressure warning lit up on the dash. The tyres didn t appear noticeably under inflated so may have been a faulty warning light.

Had a Seat Arona from ATOMO this week, cannot fault them in customer service! Their can do attitude made sure my experience was good, easy and fast. Car was clean and delivered to my hotel. Would recommend without hesitation.

No problems at all with this car rental experience. Easy pick-up at the office, and I liked having photos taken of any existing damage added to the rental agreement so there is no doubt later. No office at the airport, but drop-off arrangements worked as arranged.

Desde o momento em que liguei para os mesmo até o fim do contrato correu tudo super bem, o carro era ótimo, super limpo, simpatia dos funcionários extraordinária, tudo perfeito! Que no meu caso eu tinha um veículo próprio mas sofri um acidente que o incapacitou de circular, estando a trabalhar e tendo de me deslocar muito durante o dia seria impossível sem um veículo substituto, a empresa Atomo em menos de meia hora arranjou-me um seat Ibiza dos novos muito bem equipado e que satisfez todas as minhas expectativas! Had a very hard time to find a place to rent a car without deposit and extra fees cause Madeira has plenty of options but found this place so random and decided to give it a try and guess what that was perfect decision. Took a car with automatic transmission for fours days with full insurance for only 189 . Everything went smooth and quick

Wir konnten ohne Voranmeldung ein schönes Fahrzeug zu einem guten Preis mieten. Während den 9 Tagen haben wir kein Problem mit dem Wagen gehabt. Bei der Abgabe gab es aufgrund eines unbemerkten Lackschadens etwas Unannehmlichkeiten trotz abgeschlossener Versicherung. Das heisst, ihr solltet den Zustand während der Miete ab und zu Mal überprüfen und melden falls euch etwas auffällt. Sonst alles top

Excellent friendly service , car was dropped off and collected at our hotel on time as promised. We had a seat altea which wad more than adequate for our needs and plenty of power to get up some of the more challenging inclines and small enough to get through the narrow lanes. The car not surprisingly had a few minor scratches but was presented clean inside and out. Everything functioned as it should (air con especially) and for a guy of 6 4 was very comfortable to drive. Cars fully compatible with apple or android for the GPS. My only advice is to consider an automatic as one less thing to concentrate on. No hesitation on recommending Atomo.

This was the easiest and friendliest car hire we have ever made. Our local representative Tiago brought the car to us, went through the paperwork easily and smoothly while chatting to us, showed us to the car and showed us everything we might need to know and made it really easy. The car was almost new, in great condition, and was perfect for the narrow Madeiran roads, and excellent value for money. Even the return was made easy using our hotel reception to drop off the keys. Very quick and easy way of getting a car without prior booking. It took us approx 1h from inquiry to getting the keys of the car, all in the comfort of our hotel - basically, I asked at reception, they gave the rental a call, 40 minutes later the car was at the hotel with a guy giving us some instructions and tourist recommendations while prepping the rental contract. Wir haben den Leihwagen über unsere Rezeption am Hotel gebucht. Wir waren anfangs etwas verunsichert, aber es war einfach nur klasse. Top Service, super freundliche Mitarbeiter und wir haben sogar ein Upgrade erhalten. Antonio (hoffe der Name stimmt) hat uns alles in Ruhe erklärt und uns das Auto übergeben. Man bekommt eine E-Mail mit allen wichtigen Details, auch Fotos sollte schon Schäden vorhanden sein sind dokumentiert. Die Abgabe war noch leichter. Eine sehr nette Dame schrieb ein über WhatsApp an, wann man ungefähr wieder im Hotel ist und das man ihr schreiben soll sobald man den Schlüssel an der Rezeption abgegeben hat.

This was my second time renting with Atomo. Both times I rented an automatic Seat Arona, which was well suited to the hills here in Madeira. The service the company provides is excellent: they drop the car off at your hotel, it is completely clean and has a full tank of fuel in it. They then pick the car up from the hotel when its time to return it. The price was cheaper than some of the other rental companies and substantially more convenient. Now that I have their number, I just messaged them on WhatsApp the day I arrived and we arranged a time and day to pick the car up. Very easy!

Convenient lock box system to get the car keys. No deposit required if you purchase insurance which is only 10 EUR per day. Clean new car. WhatsApp suppor, which we didnt even have a chance to try because everything was perfect. So if you want a chill car rental experience in Funchal - choose Átomo.

Easy and smooth car renting experience from the beginning to the end. We reserved the car online over and then went to the Funchal office to take it. We then handed it over shortly before our departure at a parking space nearby the airport. The Atomo employee then drove us with the car to the airport. The staff overall was very friendly and the car was really in a perfect condition. So if you dont want to run into issues with the bigger rental companies, this smaller local company is really a good alternative. We had a Seat Ibiza with automatic transition and the size and power of the car was perfect for the streets of Madeira, which are mostly hilly and small.

This agency was very professional. From the minute we started talking to the representatives, Sarah and Isabel, at the office in Funchal, we felt very confident in the organization. Though their fees are higher than some agencies, there were no hidden fees, everything was explained to us properly, and the car was even delivered to our location the next day. As well, when it came to return the car, we got ample notification, reminders and location links to where to drop it off. The representative Isabel was waiting for us, finished our paperwork, and drove us to the airport as promised. Would definitely recommend and would use them again next time we are in Madeira. Sarah and Isabel were so kind and pleasant and even gave us some great suggestions on things to do and places to go to, and offered to provide any other help we may need. The car we got was an automatic VW Polo which was very clean and in good condition, and an excellent choice for all the hills and turns all over the island. Overall an excellent experience with a top-notch company!

Very helpful and fast. Decided to hire a car after the first day in Madeira after realising it was the best way to view the island in all its beauty! Atomo was recommended to us by our hotel who made the initial call. Within 20 minutes the car was at our hotel, a quick and simple process to take the keys and make payment. The rep who dropped the car off was extremely helpful and friendly. The car was in good condition and was exactly what we needed. On return the car need to be returned with a full tank of petrol and the car was collected from the hotel hassle free by Atomo. Great experience.

Nous ne pouvons que recommander...et féliciter léquipe dAtomo, en particulier Daniel, qui sest montré réactif, disponible, lors du check in et idem lors du check out. La voiture (une Seat Ibiza toute neuve) boîte automatique (une découverte mais pas de souci) était idéale pour nos déplacements sur lîle, alors que nous avions essuyé des mésaventures avec une société de location concurrente lors de notre réservation. Avendo fatto l assicurazione premium non abbiamo dovuto lasciare nessun deposito, abbiamo solo pagato un acconto per bloccare la prenotazione e poi saldato appena arrivate e ritirato l auto. Prenotato online, avevamo chiesto informazioni sia tramite whatsapp che tramite mail, risposta immediata. Abbiamo pagato con carta di debito, non cè stato bisogno di una carta di credito, fondamentale per noi. Sia ritiro che riconsegna facile e veloce. Non abbiamo avuto nessun problema o inconveniente. Super consigliato!

Efficient and excellent service, especially compared to international rental companies who make it difficult to book a rental with a debit card. The process was extremely smooth, the representative came to the hotel where we were staying, and we were able to book everything with a debit card.

Everything went very easy! We communicated per Whatsapp and everything was organised very quickly. We got a great car and got it at our hotel where we could also leave the keys afterwards without any inconviniences. The same week we rent a car again. As easy and smooth as the first time.

Was a little bit apprehensive as I hadnt seen Atomo rentacar recommended by anyone and reviews werent many. However I had a fantastic experience with Atomo and will recommend them to family and friends in future. I liked that if you paid for extra insurance (which was extremely low priced) that you didnt need to leave credit card details or pay a holding deposit. They recorded any current dings and scratches Infront of me and then I signed to say I agreed. The car itself was very nice, a Nissan Juke, 5 doors and super easy to drive. Highly recommend!

Amazing experience, super professional and friendly staff. Since booking until pick up and drop off was everything very well organized and executed. The car was new and great for Madeiras roads. I do recommend Átimo if you are planning to rent a car. Heads up that some of the roads are huge highways and some are very challenging small ones.

Excellent hire car company which I didn t find on a google search in the uk for hire cars in Madeira. I was in Funchal a month before we needed the car and saw this company on a walk. I cancelled my booking made from the UK with 7M as this was more expensive and the car on offer was a fiat 500! We got a much better car from Atomo and it was great customer service too. I m going to ge using them again for my 2025 trip to Madeira.

It is our first time in Madeira and we had a great experience renting a car from Atomo. At one point, our car broke down up in the mountain and they were quick and efficient to give us a replacement car. What I like about them is that they asked for our safety first and never gave us a hard time about what happened to the car, this company deserves more than five stars, I highly recommend them for anyone visiting the island.

Mooie auto gehuurd bij dit bedrijf via het hotel. Auto wordt naar het hotel gebracht en daar ook weer opgehaald. Auto was netjes en probleemloos. Voor paar euro meer complete verzekering erbij. Goed geregeld.

Seat mit Automatikschaltung gemietet. Die ist auf Madeira unverzichtbar. Hatten Glück/ neuwertiges Auto bekommen.Auto wurde bis ins Hotel gebracht und dort abgeholt. Etwas teuer in der Miete, dafür reibungsloser Ablauf.

The automatic car (Seat Ibiza) that we got was brand new and perfect for the small roads on the island. Expecially if you plan to visit the western/norther side of the island where the roads are smaller and more steep, the smaller automatic is perfect. Staff at the office was great, and they responded promptly on Whatsapp to any request. Recommended if you want explore more then the Funchal area of Madeira.

Absolutely great company to deal with. We had hassle with another car hire company, then the taxi driver we had told us about Atomo. They took no deposit, didn t ask for credit card details, all insurance and excess waiver was included. Got a new car for 55/day, no hassle, no usual carry on, just straightforward and dropped off/collected the car from our hotel. Moreover, the guys who came with the car were really friendly and gave us contact details in case of any issues, so we could contact them directly. They gave us advice on driving on the island and tips on parking and things to watch out for. This was the best car hire experience I have ever had and wouldn t look anywhere else if we came back to Madeira!

Very smooth car rental experience. I had almost brand new car (it had had only 300 km from car showroom). The car was Seat Ibiza automat. I had a good experience renting a car from Atomo. The car was clean and in good condition. The price was fair; there were no hidden extras. The gentleman I dealt with was helpful, friendly and efficient. They did what they said they would do in terms of drop-off and collection and I was very pleased.

The Hotel Orca Praia recommended and help us get in contact with Atomo car rental. The hotel phoned them and they came to see me and my wife. The price for 3days was excellent and that included insurance with no deposit as it was covered in the price. Antonio from Atomo was absolutely brilliant explaining all the details and ensuing that any marks to the car had pics taken and sent to us prior to driving it. Will def use again on our next trip to Madeira

I found them randomly while walking, and within 10 minutes, I booked a car. The service was very fast and professional, making the entire experience smooth. The premium insurance and the quality of the car provided peace of mind. I rented a SEAT Arona, which was perfect for Madeira. It wasnt too big (though I would still avoid some streets in Funchal), and it had hill assist, which made driving much easier. The only feedback I have is regarding the pickup location. It takes place on a street next to the shop, which is convenient for a quick departure but makes it a bit difficult to inspect the car. Other than that, it was the best car rental experiences Ive ever had. The staff is amazing and available 24/7. Great job!
