Es war eine schöne und interessante Wanderung. Der Schwierigkeitsgrad war am Anfang aufgrund der schmalen Wege anspruchsvoll. Die Reiseleiterin hat auch einen guten Job gemacht.

Tour sollte um 13 Uhr Starten haben en Tag vorher den Termin um 30 Minuten verschoben. Reiseleitung war deutschsprachig aber viele Infos neben der Tour gab es wenig und der Bus mit dem wir abgeholt wurden hatte auch schon einiges an Mängel. Schiebetür verzogen und hat nicht richtig geöffnet, Sitze waren schon sehr verschlissen und das Auto sehr laut auch.

We chose 25 fountains levada. Our guide Leo was amazing, always funny, keeping us and others around in a great mood. It was also very nice to see that he genuinely cared about the Madeira nature, picking up trash and explaining to some tourist that feeding birds may actually harm them. Overall great experience, small group of great people, definitely recommend for all age groups!

Lido Tours hat in pünktlich am Hafen abgeholt. Der moderne Minibus hatte insgesamt 17 großzügige und komfortable Sitze. Die Tour war sehr schön, der Fahrer und Tourguide Oberto hat uns viel über die Sehenswürdigkeiten der Insel erzählt. Wir hatten ausreichend Zeit für die einzelnen Stopps. Insgesamt hatten wir einen absolute fantastischen Tag. Wir können die West Tour absolut empfehlen. Wir werden das nächste Mal wieder hier buchen.

Oh là là, mais quelle expérience inoubliable avec cette entreprise, je ne saurais trop vous la recommander ! Tous ceux qui souffrent de claustrophobie devraient absolument tenter leur chance ici ! Sérieusement, il suffit de mentionner votre petit souci avant de monter, et hop, le chauffeur se pliera en quatre pour vous trouver LA place parfaite. Non, mais mieux encore, vous pouvez même choisir la place que VOUS voulez ! Franchement, c est le top du top, un service 5 étoiles, je vous le dis : dix sur dix, les yeux fermés !

Wir waren mit Marco auf der Westtour und mit Rubina zum Fanal Assobiadores unterwegs. Beide Male top organisiert und super. Service im Lidotour-Büro freundlich und kundenorientiert. Alles top. Herzlichen Dank dafür und für die tollen Trips.

I had a great day with Lido tours on the 25 Fontes tours. Our guide Sara was an excellent host and provided much detail about the flora, fauna and geography.

Gebucht haben wir die Fanal Wanderung bekommen haben wir ein Paradebeispiel an Geld ist wichtiger als die Sicherheit der Kunden . Nachdem wir fast eine Stunde auf unsere Abholung warten mussten, wurde uns erst im Auto mitgeteilt, dass die gebuchte Tour aufgrund der Wetterbedingungen nicht möglich sein wird. Auch die alternative Route war bei einer Sichtweite von weniger als 5 Metern und strömendem Regen eine Zumutung (Wir hätten 80 dafür bezahlt, im strömenden Regen im Nebel über rutschige Steine zu laufen.) Die Aussage des Guides so ist halt Madeira war offensichtlich auch nicht hilfreich. Bei anderen Anbietern wurde uns 24 Stunden vorher genauere Informationen zur Tour, alternativen Routen und dem Wetter geschickt. Oder die Option gegeben, die Tour abzusagen, wenn sich die Route geändert hat oder es aufgrund des Wetters nicht 100 % gewährleistet werden konnte. Wir verstehen nicht, wieso der Anbieter dies nicht auch getan hat. Wir werden nie wieder bei Lido Tours buchen, die Organisation war von Anfang bis Ende eine Katastrophe und eine Sicherheitsgefährdung.

We took a tour of the west side of Madeira by minibus and it was a wonderful day. Out driver João kept up a very informative commentary for all of the journey and was such a friendly, knowledgeable man. The locations and scenery were to die for and very reasonably priced. Would highly recommend.

Better than we expected the weather was cold and horrible but not only did we feel safe, the guide made js feel safe and take up to great local points. I would book again

Wir haben sehr kurzfristig noch Plätze ergattert für die Führung/Halbtagestour ins Nonnental. Die online-Buchung ging total unkompliziert und den Treffpunkt konnte man online auch wählen! Der Guide war 15 Min vorher da, sodass es echt gar keinen Stress gab. So sammelten wir dann an 3 weiteren Stationen alle ein. Der Bus war neuwertig, klimatisiert und mit einem Headset über die Lautsprecher verbunden, sodass jeder alles problemlos hören konnte. Der Fahrer und Guide Marco war aber das eigentliche Herzstück der Tour. Er sprach neben Portugiesisch auch noch fließend Englisch, Französisch und Spanisch! Ein sehr sympathischer Kerl, der ganz viel Geschichte der gestehenden Orte preisgab. Das Nonnental selber war atemberaubend schön, grade von dem oberen Aussichtspunkt. Der Halt im Tal selber war schön, wir haben hier traditionellen Kuchen mit Kastanien gegessen und Poncha bestellt. Der letzte Halt im Fischerdorf war eher nicht ganz so meins, das Örtchen ist einfach sehr auf diese Art Tourismus angewiesen und ansonsten passiert dort eher wenig bzgl Sanierung etc. Aber das ist völlig ok, wenn man durch diese Touren die Wirtschaft ankurbeln kann. Jeder wurde an der Anfangsstation wieder ordentlich verabschiedet. Positiv war, das kein Klingelbeutel herumging, denn dann bin ich total bereit von allein etwas Trinkgeld zu geben. In Summe war an jeder Station genügen Zeit, der Guide ist super gefahren und hat alles mega erklärt, und ich kann somit dieses Unternehmen und die Tour nur empfehlen!!

Ich habe kürzlich an einer Tour mit Lido Tours auf Madeira teilgenommen und war begeistert von der Erfahrung! Besonders beeindruckend war der Panoramablick von einem hohen Berg auf die umliegenden Gebirgsketten einfach atemberaubend. Man fühlte sich, als stünde man auf dem Dach der Welt und schaute auf die majestätischen Gipfel unter sich. Während der Wanderung entdeckten wir auch einen kleinen Gecko am Wegesrand, der sich in der Sonne wärmte ein schönes Detail, das die natürliche Schönheit der Insel unterstreicht. Ein weiteres Highlight war der Besuch eines abgelegenen Dorfes, in dem eine charmante alte Kirche steht. Diese kleine Kirche, eingebettet in die unberührte Landschaft, strahlte eine besondere Ruhe und Gelassenheit aus ein perfekter Ort, um innezuhalten und den Moment zu genießen. Die gesamte Tour war hervorragend organisiert, die Guides waren sehr informativ und freundlich. Ich kann Lido Tours nur weiterempfehlen, wenn man die wahre Schönheit Madeiras entdecken möchte!

I have been on several Madeira tours and walks in the last three years. I liked Queimadas / Caldeirão Verde Walk the least of these. The place is unique and interesting. The problem, however, is over-tourism. On October 19, when we went on the Queimadas / Caldeirão Verde Walk, there were too many people walking ahead of us and behind us. Since the walking path is mostly narrow-to-very narrow, the experience of walking in a line of people is underwhelming. I must add to this that there are (naturally!) no toilets and practically no way to get out of the sight of people if you feel like it, for about five hours. Something else to keep in mind is that most places along the walk and the final point are shadowed and wet. There are a few viewpoints, but no spectacular vistas and breathtaking views as in other parts of the island. Basically, this walk is a technical exercise, and this could be o.k. if it wasnt crowded by too many people. Our guide could speak English but the quality of his English was not good.

Absolut NICHT zu empfehlen. Es wird garantiert, dass man Delfine oder Wale sieht.. wo? An der Küste? Garantiert nicht!! Das Boot fährt nur an der Küste auf und ab.. absolut enttäuschend nachdem einem so viel mehr versprochen wurde! (Natürlich wissen wir, dass dies scheue Tiere sind und man sowieso Glück haben muss aber diese Abzocke ist ein absolutes nogo!)

Wir haben im Rahmen unserer Maderia Reise einige Touren über Lido Tours gebucht. War preislich absolut fair. Unsere Guids waren mega lustig haben uns soviel erklärt und sind immer sehr sicher und entspannt gefahren selbst auf den smallsten Pass Straßen. Wir wurden von den Guids auf Touri Abzocken hingewiesen und generell wirkten die Guids sehr ehrlich und aufrichtig. Danke Lido Tours für alles. Ihr habt mindestens 5 Sterne verdient!!!

Booked a walk tour in madeira, but 2 days before the trip they called to tell me no french guide available and asked if i would mind do it in english. As i said no and asked for a refund they gave me immediatly my money back.

Hola a todos: He estado 11 días en la isla, mis excursiones han sido en minibus, ninguna andando ni haciendo senderismo. Tengo que decir que he conocido a un conductor-agente que llevaba mis viajes en su furgoneta. Se trata del Sr. D. Luciano Marques que se encargó de todo, nos fue explicando en varios idiomas todos los viajes que hice con él. En principio sólo iba a hacer uno pero fue tal mi satisfacción por un trabajo bien hecho que acabé contratando 3 viajes. No pude hacer más por falta de tiempo. Recomiendo a todos pedir a éste conductor-agente, las rutas eran escarpadas y su conducción no podía ser mejor, relajada, profesional, parando en los lugares más pintorescos y un largo etcétera....a mi mujer y a mí al igual que al resto de viajeros, nos concerto a petición una comida que fue excelente y barata en cada excursión de día entero saliendo a las 9 y regresando a las 16. Cuando vuelva a Madeira pues ésta ha sido la primera vez, buscaré a éste señor en la empresa. Lo recomiendo a todos como excelente. Gracias, saludos, Mario y esposa.

Fiz a tour oeste e gostei imenso. Guia Marco muito atento,dinâmico e foi transmitido informações muito interessantes sobre diversas temáticas ligadas ao percurso, à ilha e suas características. A repetir! Repeti este ano fazendo a tour este,guia Nuno excelente também, duas experiências que recomendo!

Hab hier meinem Mietwagen gebucht Freundlich, unkompliziert und weitaus günstiger als anderswo. 40 am Tag für einen Ford Fiesta.Klasse. Und was größeres will man auf der Insel eh nicht fahren.

We recently did a West tour and Nuns Valley tour. The guides were very knowledgeable and we enjoyed seeing what the island had to offer. Highly recommend.

Cant fault Lido tours as they were excellent and kept us well informed about arrangements. Our mountain guide on our first walk, Rabaçal / Risco / 25 Fountains was brilliant, highly knowledgeable and always had the tour group safety as highest priority. Shame about the walk itself as was absolutely saturated with people many of which have no regard for anyone else and as for the fountains themselves, well hughly underwhelming once you got through the crowds, toilet paper remnants, drones and social media posing. Such a shame really but that is todays reality and I know that lido also feel the frustration in the extent of tourism.

Took our 2nd Lido tour last week to Referta / Castelejo on Madeira. Great scenery. Loved the guide. Great explanations and not too many stops. Coffee stop at the end was a little small but it worked. Driver drove a little fast

I had booked with Lido Tours the hike of Madeira peaks. Unfortunately that day the peaks were closed, because of strong wind and snow. The day of the hike the guide proposed us an alternative walk or full refund. I decided to take the alternative walk and it was a wonderful 10km from Machico to Porto da Cruz. The guide, Sarah, has been amazing, very friendly and providing us a lot of info and curiosities about the places we were visiting and the whole island. I will go back for the peaks and for sure I will go with Lido Tours!

Twee tours gedaan: oost en west. Twee keer een mooie dag gehad. Prima georganiseerd, keurig op tijd opgehaald en terug, prima bus, afwisselend programma, goede gids. Aanrader.

Our 1/2 day tour to Nuns Valley was well worth booking. Bruno, our driver/ guide was not only friendly, very knowledgable & multi-lingual. He was very entertaining. The scenery is breathtaking. Booking process was simple & for the price of 24 pp was also a bargain. This company deserves all the best success.

Would recommend their tours to anyone travelling to Madeira. The tours guides were so kind and felt like we were in very capable hands. Will be going back to them next time we go.

Loved the Larano Walk with Charlotte. The walk can only be described as gorgeous and stunningly beautiful. Charlotte was professional and impressive with her knowledge of the hike (which she leads every Monday) and fabulous language abilities, switching quickly between Portuguese, English, German and French! She led our group of 14 (the max # on the Lido minibus) on a moderate pace to hike up to the path that wove around the mountains, providing incredible views of the water. The walk is not challenging but anyone attempting a lengthy walk should wear adequate shoes and clothing and be fit enough to handle the distance and some climbing. I recommend walking poles as we found them useful. Lido is our tour company of choice and we will use them in future for our next ventures to beautiful Madeira.

Zum wiederholten Mal habe ich Wanderungen mit Lido Tours gemacht und ich würde es immer wieder so machen. Es macht riesigen Spaß, die Natur beispielweise von Sarah und Rubi erklärt zu bekommen. Die internationalen Gruppen sind zudem ein guter Beweis für schönes Miteinander. Sehr gutes Preis-Leistungs-Verhältnis, tolle Auswahl an Ausflüge und die Reiseleiterinnen sind klasse, immer wieder zu empfehlen. Ich komme wieder. Jederzeit! Obrigado.

We used Lido Tours for a hike to 25 Fontes. I cant say enough good things about our guide Charlotte. We were probably the slowest in our group and Charlotte made sure we felt comfortable and explained options in case we couldnt match the physical demand required to complete the hike. Her genuine concern and spirit is what got us thru this beautiful hike. It was a great experience. I recommend Lido Tours.

I did both the East and West tours with Nuno and would recommend them both. Got to see a lot of places with plenty of stops, but did not feel rushed, and drove safely. A great way to see the beauty of Madeira

Halbtags Tour über den Westen der Insel. Der Fahrer war sprachlich und fahrerisch sehr gut. Die Reise war nicht langweilig, trotzdem würde ich Sie eher am Anfang eines Urlaubs empfehlen, da man sonst schon viel selbst gesehen hat.

Belle journée à visiter l ouest de Madère. Jose notre chauffeur et guide a été très sympa. Minibus climatisé car fin Mars, il fait quand même chaud. Précision: on avait réservé l excursion en français, mais l opérateur nous a informé que cela serait en anglais. On est loin d être bilingue, mais on a compris l essentiel de ce que disait Jose. On recommande.

Took a couple of tours with Lido over a week in Madeira - 25 Fontes and West of the island, which we both enjoyed. Found the staff to be polite and friendly, the days went smoothly and we got to see and learn a bit more than we would have done without doing it through guided tours.

Very accommodating I rented a car for a week. After a day problem with tires it was solved immediately.. They are all professional...

This was way back in November 2019. We booked the Madeira best of the West day tour with Lido tours and it was well worth the money spent. It was 25 per person with an optional lunch at Porto Moniz for a set menu 15 per person (wine, main course, dessert and coffee). The tour started at 8.30 am picking us up near the Cable car station in Funchal and dropping us back at around 5.00pm. Our guide was fantastic, knowledgeable and gave us ample time to take pictures at various viewpoints mentioned in the itinerary. You will also find several souvenirs shops at various stops. The weather was glorious with clear skies throughout the day. Fabulous day out and highly recommended!!!!!

Nous avons fait 2 excursions : le tour est et le tour ouest en minivan (16 personnes max) et les deux sorties se sont parfaitement bien déroulées. Les guides sont extra et les paysages sublimes. Les excursions sont dun très bon rapport qualité prix.

Wir hatten heute eine traumhaft schöne Tour mit einem phantastischen Guide (Sarah - Tour Ribeiro Frio). So charmant, kundig und fröhlich, nicht zu toppen.

Esperienza piuttosto scarsa con questa agenzie .Solo la Levada delle 25 fonti con Charlotte é stata davvero splendida. La guida , simpatica e sorridente ha dimostrato veramente grande professionalità , il pulmino era spazioso , nuovo e l autista gentile. Il tour verso est con un certo Ricardo ,(waktours ) che faceva sia da autista che da guida é stato scadente. Il tizio non rispondeva neppure alle poche domande postegli , sussurrava nel microfono e si é mostrato seccate e scostante per tutto il tour . Non ha mai accompagnato il gruppo, ma ha solo dato indicazioni sui punti d incontro . Da dimenticare . Il tour a San Lorenzo, una lunga penisola con vedute magnifiche, era guidata da un signore non giovanissimo , ma allenato , solo poco abile con le lingue. L ultimo tour , verso ovest, é risultato molto scomodo. Con posti a sedere strettissimi , che non consentivano nemmeno spazio alle gambe . La sosta a Porto Moniz doveva essere di un ora , ma in realtà é stata allungata a un ora e 45 minuti . A parte una signora, nessuno ha fatto il bagno perché faceva freddo . Arrivati comunque in albergo alle 16,10, anziché verso le 17.

The service was 5-star! So very helpful and accommodating when injury unfortunately changed what we could do. We will definitely be back to Lido tours the next time we come to Madeira.

Wonderful minibus tour of the east island. Stunning scenery and some beautiful stop off points. Bruno was the best guide ever, giving us a full and interesting commentary. Extremely friendly and approachable - he really looked after us! The tour company was easy to book with, at a fair price, and the pick up was on time. I would have no hesitation in recommending this company if youre looking for some marvellous tours.

Fantastic tour operator. Went on two levada walks with lido tours. Brilliant guide Charlotte, loved every minute. Will use again when we return.

We came to Madeira for a couple of days and since we don t have a car license, we decided to buy tours in Lido to places where it s impossible to get there without a car. The first tour was to Fanal Forest, which is located in a national park and is famous for its fog, which makes it especially mysterious. Entering the park, we saw a beautiful thick fog, it rolled around the trees and cows that were standing on the road. But our guide said that the weather is not very suitable for walking (although there were many people who came for hiking) and he has another route for us. We were taken away from the park, and his new rout it was just a walk along the levada where we were shown what people grow in Madeira. There was no limit to our disappointment, because we really wanted to visit this forest and see that mysterious fog for which everyone goes to this, for this we paid almost 80 . When we came to the company to ask if it was possible to somehow at least partially return the money, because it was absolutely not what we bought, we were told that the guide has every right to change the route if the weather seems unsuitable to him (of course, we were not warned about this when buying tickets) and they didnt even offer any solution to this situation. By the way, the guide was very friendly, just keep in mind that when buying a tour you can be taken to a completely different place. Well, we are infinitely sorry for the precious time wasted (during this tour) on this beautiful island

Great tour where we got to see true gems of what Madeira has to offer. Marco was a friendly and charismatic tour guide that gave explanations all along the way. I recommend taking the West Tour as you get a 2-hour lunch break in Porto Moniz where you ll have the opportunity to swim in the unique ocean pools. Would do it all over again in a heartbeat!

It was an amazing trip on the East Madeira tour! The tour is well organised so one can see one of the most beautiful landmarks in one day. I am happy to have had Jose as our tour guide. Jose provided a lot of interesting insights and valuable information on the sights. His professionalism stands out not only during the drive and the guide, but also how considerate he was when I suddenly felt sick on the peak of the mountain. I was accompanied to the local health center during lunch and received huge help which allowed me to continue the trip afterwards. Anything unexpected can happen during the tours, so I really appreciate that Lido Tours has such employees. I will definitely recommend the company and Jose as the guide to my friends when they come to Madeira.

Tolle Touren mit vielen einmaligen Fotospots und ein Top-Preisleistungsverhältnis. Auch die Guides sind sehr zu vorkommend und kümmern sich soweit möglich auch um persönliche Belange. Die während den Ganztagstouren angebotenen Menüs in einem jeweiligen Partner-Restaurant von Lido-Tours sind inklusive Beilagen, Getränken, Nachtisch und haben m. E. ebenfalls ein gutes Preisleistungsverhältnis. Zudem sind sie eine gute Gelegenheit mit netten Menschen aus anderen Ländern ins Gespräch zu kommen und sein Englisch wieder etwas aufzufrischen. Also alles in allem nur empfehlenswert!

Palvelu oli ystävällistä ja sujuvaa. Käytiin madeira peaks 4x4 jeeppi safarilla. Ajelut hoiti green devil firma, 10 tuntia puhdasta hauskanpitoa, mahtavien kuskien kanssa upeissa maisemissa. Oli off roadia, pico arieroa ym. Kuskit olivat todella huomaavaisia,huumorintajuisia ja asiansa osaavia.

Une arnaque. Je réserve le dimanche pour une visite le lendemain. Il est spécifié Des transferts en dehors de la zone de Funchal sont disponibles (moyennant un supplément). Je suis prêt avec ma partenaire à payer ce supplément car nous nous trouvons dans une autre ville. Lido Tour me contact alors pour me dire quils ne souhaitent pas faire ce déplacement et quil faut que jannule. Je leur réponds que si jannule de mon côté, vu que le tour a lieu dans moins de 24h, je ne peux pas me faire rembourser par le site partenaire. Ils me répondent que si, ils pourront le spécifier au site partenaire qui me remboursera. Je mexécute de suivre leur procédure. Le lendemain, le tour opérateur me contact pour me dire que comme lannulation a été faite moins de 24h avant le tour, ils ne me rembourseront pas. Bref, cest du vol pur et simple. Jimagine que si vous êtes basés à Funchal vous aurez le droit au tour. Mais si vous nêtes pas à Funchal, ils vont vous voler votre argent.

We did the Madeira Peaks walk with Sarah as the guide. We had quite a large group of 18, but Sarah kept us all together and stopped regularly to tell us about the area, and the flora/fauna of the mountains. She also warned us on steep parts, though the tunnels what was coming next with no dramatics. I thought she was an excellent guide, and her passion for the area is obvious. Thanks for a great trip.

My partner & I took a tour of The Best of the East, which was operated on the day by our fantastic driver & guide Roberto. The sights are wonderful, from peaks to small villages, a small city and the coast - a truly unforgettable experience! Roberto was very knowledgeable patient & witty, has a voice made for a soothing Audio book and treated us to traditional Portuguese music on the way home for a siesta - an absolute delight!

Wir haben 2 schöne Wanderungen mit Lido Tours gemacht - Rabacal und die Pico-Tour. Jedes Mal wurden wir morgens direkt am Hotel abgeholt und zum Startpunkt der Wanderung gefahren. Am Endpunkt der Wanderung wartete dann unser Lido Tours Bus, um die Gruppe wieder abzuholen. Für die Rabacal-Tour wäre es noch gut gewesen, wenn wir im Voraus gewusst hätten, dass wir am Rabacal Nature Spot Café vorbeikommen würden. Dort kann man Getränke, leckeren Kuchen und Sandwiches kaufen. Außerdem gibt es dort eine Toilette, deren Benutzung 50 Cent kostet. Es ist also hilfreich, Geld dabei zu haben. Beide Touren waren sehr schön. Bei der Pico-Tour, die wir bei schönem Wetter begonnen haben, fing es unterwegs an zu regnen, was der Tour dann einen Hauch von Abenteuer verlieh. Ich würde empfehlen, auf der Pico-Tour nach Möglichkeit eine Taschenlampe dabei zu haben, für die Tunnel, die durchquert werden. Die Reiseleiterin Liana war super und wir haben die Tour sehr genossen. Auch die Kommunikation mit Lido Tours insgesamt war sehr gut. Da mein Mann am Abend vor unserer gebuchten Pico-Tour nicht ganz fit war, haben wir sie storniert. Lido Tours hat uns dann angeboten, am nächsten Termin mitzukommen, obwohl die Absage unsererseits sehr kurzfristig war. Nochmals vielen Dank an Lido Tours! Vor jeder Tour gab es die Abholinformationen auf WhatsApp und darüber konnten wir uns auch problemlos verständigen. Wir können Lido Tours absolut empfehlen, für schöne Wanderungen mit netten Leuten aus verschiedenen Ländern - Tourensprache war immer Englisch und auch Deutsch, beide Tourguides konnten auch Deutsch sprechen.

Went on the Sunday market half day tour. The minibus was ok, the tour guide had a microphone for about 30 seconds then it stopped and the whole back of the van couldnt hear much the whole time. The small town we stopped at first had about 6 stalls of a market then the main market wasnt very busy and looked quite run down, its not any better than the Funchal market and was expensive, they wanted 5 for tea towels, I walked away. We returned alot earlier than the tour suggested, more like midday than 1pm.

I did one of the many Levada walks, and was very happy with the whole days experience. Pick up was on time (although I got the place wrong), started going inland but because of a forest fire we had to go to a different walk, but was of a similar length and flat. The guide (Sarah if I remember correctly, sorry) was very friendly, as was our driver. Very informative all along the route pointing out different trees, bushes, information on the Levada system and some background on Madeira. Every one else in my group was German, I am from UK, so Sarah explained everything to them first, then we continued walking while she then explained things to me. A great day, some fabulous scenery, very interesting and very happy to recommend this company.

Booked on Monday evening for the Wednesday full day hike across the Madeira peaks at the Lido tours office. They failed to tell us that that you couldnt walk between the 1st and 3rd mountains due to storm damage the previous weekend which is fair enough. But to not tell us upfront and take our money felt wrong. At least we could have made an informed decision whether to still go ahead with booking it. We only found out this information as we were picked up and told by the guide that it would be a much shorter hike. This does leave you feeling deceived and annoyed at paying full price for half the service.

Great guide to the Nuns village with Joao/John who was probably the best guide we have had and he kept switching between English / French. Very knowledgeable and gave us great stories along the drive to the places we visited. 10/10 recommend the company- they booked us last minute too and made everything easy.

We hebben deelgenomen aan de westtour en aan de nunvillage tour. Op beide excursies was niets op aan te merken. Stipt op tijd, duidelijke opstapplaats, goede chauffeurs op deze kronkelende wegen en goede gidsen die heel veel informatie gaven over fauna flora, geschiedenis van Madeira.

Went on the Larano walk today. I have to say this is our favourite walk so far. It had a mix of everything Lavada, Forest, and spectacular coast and mountain view. Thank you to the lovely Liana who was our guide for the day. Very knowledgeable and let us go at our own pace.. she really made it an enjoyable tour and we would love to do another tour with her. Lido tours were excellent with communication and can highly recommend them. Our driver Nuno was also very pleasant and a good safe driver.

I took the Levada Walk in the Rabaçal Valley, to the 25 Fontes. It was brilliant!

Hier kann man gut geführte und preisgünstige Touren machen. Wir hatten über GetYourGuide die 25 Wasserfall Tour gebucht. Super Kommunikation vorweg, Abholung am ausgemachten Punkt. Die komplette Tour war sehr angenehm, interessant und schön! Immer Mal wieder Pausen um die Landschaft zu genießen und die Gruppe beinander zu halten. Unsere einheimische Führerin war Klasse! Sie macht die Touren schon seit 8 Jahren, aber hat alles schön erklärt und war keinesfalls langweilig. So muss das Sein wie hier.

Wir hatten durch GetYourGuide eine Tour mit Lido Tours ins Nonnental. Toller Guide. Alles ohne Probleme. Gerne wieder.

Great tours. Knowledgable and informative guides. Their own fleet of mini-buses. Hotel pick ups. Others offer cheaper prices but Lido Tours provide a superb service which is well worth the little extra. We would definitely use again and highly recommend to others.

We would like to recommend Lido Tours if you feel like you want to book a hiking tour. We have booked a tour to Pico Ruivo with transfer included. It took us five hours to reach the top and go back to the parking where a tour bus waiting us. It was the great journey and also suits you if you have never hiked before. Our guide Charlotte was amazing!

Used Lido Tours for two half day levada walks, pick up was on time on both occasions, both the driver and guide were very pleasant ( sorry we cant remember the names). The guides on both days were full of interesting information on many different aspects of the island. We also found the admin side excellent as we needed to make a day change, which was arranged very quickly. Plan to use Lido again when we return.

Very organised, lovely guides. Nuns Valley is a great half day tour. Rabacal was good but it rained a lot so bring waterproofs and warm clothing!

Very nice excursion in a small group. The tour guide only speaks English or Portuguese. The excursion led to Nonnental.

Great tour and a very nice guide. For the West-Tour: Dont forget to bring swimwear if you want to take a swim in the natural pools in Porto Moniz! The only downside: The bus was extremely narrow, normal people (Im 1.85m tall) dont have a chance to sit normally on the seats because of the lack of legroom.

Good choice for a tour

Une belle randonnée des 25 fontes de Rabaçal pour débutants, longue mais facile (11 km sur un parcours principalement en descente ou plat, avec quelques marches en monté mais rien de difficile). Notre guide Charlotte était très bien, polyglotte et passionnée par son île. Seul bémol : la randonnée est très prisée par les touristes, beaucoup de groupes au même temps sur le même parcours et surtout trop de monde devant la cascade du Risco pour pouvoir en apprécier la beauté. Mais les levadas et le paysage naturel sont exceptionnels ! Ça vaut le coup.

Nous avons fait deux excursions avec lido tours. Le guide Marco parlant très bien français nous a fait découvrir pleins de jolis coins avec beaucoup dexplications intéressantes. Nous recommandons cette agence.

So, Im really conflicted about this review. On one side, the tours, the guides and the drivers are awesome. Cant fault them. But on the other hand, the tour operator leave a lot to be desired. I got a reservation cancelled, notified about this through an email received at 8PM, the evening before the planned tour without any explanation. I called them first thing in the morning the next day. Not enough people on that tour. They said they contacted everyone from that tour to offer them another one for the same price. They said they contacted me too but I refused and they refunded me. Yes, they refunded me, but they never actually contacted me about this situation. They lied. I booked 7 tours on consecutive days, in 4 of them it was not the correct pick up time, or they changed the pickup location. For the changes, I had to contact them, they did not emailed me or called. One morning, at 8:10 AM I received a call from them, where am I? The driver was waiting for me. But the pickup time was 9:15AM (in my booking confirmation) and they did not find it necessary to inform me about the change (or maybe they had no clue), they cant seem to track their customers situation. I showed my booking confirmation to the guide and driver. So 10/10 for the tours, guides and drivers, but there are no qualifying points for the unprofessional behaviour of the staff working at the office.

Lido Tours ist ein guter Anbieter für Teilnehmer, die unter 1,70 m groß sind. Es werden enge (Klein-)busse eingesetzt, die voll besetzt werden. Vorteil der Kleinbusse: es werden nicht so viele Abholstationen morgens und abends angefahren. Die Touren waren mehrsprachig (Englisch, Französisch, Deutsch). Aber es wurde mehr auf Englisch als auf Deutsch erzählt, was uns nicht gestört hat (sprechen gut Englisch). Außerdem waren mehr Englische als Deutsche Gäste auf dem Ausflug. Die Ausflüge sollten wegen der hohen Nachfrage schon online vor Anreise nach Madeira gebucht werden. Sonst ist man womöglich auf Madeira, will Ausflüge machen und alles innerhalb einer Woche ist ausgebucht. Fast alle Ausflugziele auf Madeira (Levadas, 25 Fountains, Pico Rivo, Lorenzo etc.) sind schon in der Vorsaison Mai 2022 stark überlaufen gewesen (Overtourism). Richtig gut ist Port Moniz (Badesachen nicht vergessen!), Levadas (1. wenn es ist nicht regnet, 2. vorher nochmal zur Toilette gehen/unterwegs wenig Möglichkeiten), Wanderungen zum Pico Ruivo (Kondition, Schwindelfreiheit, gutes Schuhwerk und Wanderkleidung erforderlich!) und Wanderung auf Lorenzo im Osten Madeiras.Die Eastern Tour mit den rot-weißen reetgedeckten Häuschen lohnt sich definitiv nicht! Botanischer Garten, Palastgarten und Korbschlitten kann man von Funchal aus auf eigene Faust machen (ggfs. Stadtbus und/oder Seilbahn nutzen.....).

We had a wonderful day with Lido Tours by walking Rabaçal - Risco - 25 Fontes levada. The guide was professional and knew a lot about flora and fauna and also about the history of Madeira. The driver was very good at driving the car. Sometimes the route was looking impossible but he just handleded that without any problems. While the tour we also learned more about the Madeira while driving through the island.

Fiz duas tours pela lido tours- Madeira . Uma dia 2 e outra dia 4. A de dia 2 com o guia Nuno foi incrível, uma pessoa extremamente simpática e muito bom no seu trabalho! A de dia 4 foi péssima , para além do guia turístico não ter o mínimo de cuidados higiénico, ou seja NINGUÉM usava máscaras, o autocarro cheio e ninguém sem máscaras ! Péssimo como guia , mal falava , não interagia com o público! Muito mau !

Während meines Aufenthaltes auf der wunderschönen Insel Madeira durfte ich einige positive Erfahrungen mit dem Unternehmen machen. Das Personal im Büro war steht s freundlich und hat sich für alle Fragen Zeit genommen und ist auf meine Wünsche eingegangen, ohne mir was aufzwingen zu wollen. Das empfand ich als sehr positiv und leider was das nicht überall der Fall. Die Guides haben dies gute Gefühl nur noch bekräftigt. Ich habe mich sehr wohl in den Gruppen gefühlt, die alle eine übersichtliche Größe hatten. Gute Laune sowie Interesse Fakten sind hier Alltag, mit keiner Frage fühlt man sich im Stich gelassen oder gar Dämlich. Zu meinem persönlichen Fazit kann ich sagen ich würde immer wieder ohne Sorge zu Lido Tours gehen und werde das auch tun sondern es mich wieder nach funchal verschlägt. Danke für die tollen Erfahrungen und die Schöne Zeit .

Wir haben über Lido Tours zwei tolle Ausflüge auf Madeira gebucht. Die Delfin Tour war ein voller Erfolg, sehr gut organisiert und spannend. Der Levada Walk mit Charlotte hat super viel Spaß gemacht, war sehr gut und interessant erklärt. Wir haben die Zeit sehr genossen und werden das auf jeden Fall wiederholen.

Fantastic proposals. Very friendly and attentive staff. We did 3 excursions and they were 5 stars. I totally recommend it to anyone who wants to get to know the island.

It was ok. Bruno was fine, but after hearing about other experiences, I wish I had gone with another company. It was more like a transport service... The stop in Santana was Far too long. There was no experience. Another group (i had taken a different tour) the group went to a real house, met the family. Overall the tour was a bit boring. I also dicovered the fact that the real views at Pico were on the other side. There was no time to actually walk the Levado in Riberio Frio. (other companies allow time for that) Just overall disappointing. I used other companies for my other tours and they were much better.

Sehr schöne Tour in den Westen mit einem witzigen und netten Tourguides Bruno. Nicht so gut gefallen hat mir der Umgang mit Corona. wir waren die einzigen mit Maske und hatten das Gefühl, dass es eher gefördert wurde keine Maske zu tragen Zudem war es sehr warm im Bus. Insgesamt hat es aber trotzdem Spaß gemacht

Excellent day out with Luciano giving us full value for our money.this was the west of island tourHe went above what would be expected of him.we had numerous official stops and a couple of photo stops .the highlight for me was Porto Morinz.Great to swim in the sparkling clear lava pools.very refreshing!! Lido tours provided us with excellent service and would not hesitate to use them again.

Unfortunatelly I had to cancel my tours with Lido Tours. However, thanks to the efficient help of David Ornelas I got my money back. Highly recommended!

Wir haben mit Lido Tours 4 Wanderungen und 2 Touren gemacht. Besonders gut haben uns die Wanderungen Fanal/Assobiadores und Ribeiro Frio/Portela (beide mit Rubina und Nunu) und die Osttour (mit Bruno) gefallen, diese können wir uneingeschränkt weiterempfehlen.Unsere Guides waren alle sehr gut. Die Guides Rubina und Bruno und unser Fahrer Nunu möchten wir nochmal extra lobend erwähnen. Nunu hat uns besonders sicher über die Insel gefahren. Bruno, der auch gleichzeitig ein sehr guter Fahrer ist, hat uns so viel über die Insel erzählt, spricht super deutsch und hat eine sehr witzige charmante Art. Rubina haben wir sehr schnell schätzen gelernt, mit ihr durfen wir drei Wanderungen genießen. Sie hat uns in ihrer ruhigen und doch sehr aufgeschlossenen, fröhlichen Art die einmalig schöne Natur von Madeira näher gebracht. Sie hat immer besondere Picknickplätze ausgesucht, mal mystisch angehaucht, mal mit überwältigenden Panorama. Auch war die Weiterempfehlung von Epic Madeira für das Canyoning von Lido Tours ein voller Erfolg. Da wir sehr viel unternehmen wollten, hatten wir alles bereits vor unserer Anreise mit LidoTours geplant, das hat ganz wunderbar geklappt. Wir waren mit Lido Tours sehr, sehr zufrieden und würden jederzeit wieder dort buchen. Danke nochmal an alle Mitarbeiter von Lido Tours, die zu einem tollen Urlaub beigetragen haben.

A não recomendar. Fiz uma reserva por telefone para um passeio 4x4 ao receber o valor para pagar verifiquei que o mesmo não correspondia ao passeio que eu queria. Respondi com mensagem escrita para me confirmarem que o pagamento era o do passeio 4x4 pretendido. Obtive a confirmação que sim. No dia do passeio ao aguardar no hotel, recebo chamada telefonica que me esperavam no escritório da empresa para ir numa excursão de autocarro. Chegado ao escritório a situação ficou esclarecida e foi me proposto, sem pagamento adicional, para o dia seguinte um passeio 4x4 alternativo, o que aceitei. No dia seguinte quando a empresa de safari nos vai buscar, a informação que tinha estava errada quer no nome e número do quarto,pelo menos o hotel estava certo! Felizmente o guia/condutor prontamente esclareceu a questão e podemos seguir para um fantástico passeio com o Roan da GreenDevil. Contactos com a Lido Tours jamais nem a recomendar. .

Ich war das erste Mal in Madeira und habe, da ich nur eine Woche Zeit hatte die Süd-, die Ost- und die Westtour sowie eine Wanderung am Ponta de São Lourenço gebucht. Die Buchung war unkompliziert, schon von Deutschland aus, über die sehr übersichtliche Webseite möglich. Vor Beginn der ersten Tour bekam ich eine Erinnerungs-SMS. Alle Touren begannen pünktlich und wurden jeweils in zwei Sprachen (Englisch-Portugiesisch oder Englisch-Deutsch) durchgeführt. Abgefahren wurden die wichtigsten Punkte, während der Fahrt gab es zahlreiche Informationen zum jeweiligen Ort oder zur Insel. Verpflegung war bei den Touren nicht inklusive, was ich aber gut fand, da man selbst entscheiden konnte ins angefahrene Restaurant zu gehen, sich selbst etwas mitzubringen oder den Mittag in der Umgebung zu verbringen. Alle Guides und Mitarbeiter waren super freundlich und ein besonderes Lob geht an Marco, der uns mit seiner herzlichen Art einen unvergesslichen Tag auf der wunderschönen Osttour beschert und bestimmt dem einen oder anderen Lust auf Weihnachten auf Madeira gemacht hat. Da eine Woche für Madeira viel zu kurz war, werde ich wohl wieder kommen und mit Lido Tours ein paar Levada-Wanderungen machen. Ich kann Lido-Tours uneingeschränkt weiter empfehlen.

We did the 25 fountains levada walk tour (Madeira Day Trip: Levada Walk in the Rabaçal Valley). Nunu (driver) and Sara (guide) were excellent. We got a WhatsApp message the day before to confirm pick up location and hour, very helpful and welcome. Sara was passionate, knowledgeable and personable. Took time to explain bits of history about the island, flora and its natural reservations. We were a mix of English and German speaking people where she comfortably switched between. Amazing walking tour paired with a an excellent guide. One of the highlights of our trip.

Had a very enjoyable one-day tour of the west of the island with Lido Tours. Tour guide Marco was excellent - very friendly and informative. The van was comfortable, with some 16 people so a nice size of group. The booking process very easy, and Lido Tours replied quickly to a query I sent to them before the tour. Would go straight back to Lido Tours myself for any future tours in Madeira.

Pour la visite de la vallée de Rabacal notre guide était Charlotte, qui a pris soin du groupe et nous a bien expliquer la faune, la flore ainsi que lhistoire des levadas. Noubliez pas votre équipement en cas de pluie et de bonne chaussures Cest un peu sportif, mais les pauses permettent de récupérer pour les moins endurants. La belle vue est au rdv

Brand new, almost no history....everything just couple of years old...everything for tourism...but nice,cosy,in good proportions...could have been much worse....

We have used Lido Tours on all but our very first trip to Madeira (when we hired a car instead), and have enjoyed every single one. We have taken coach and car tours (to the Northern Wonders, the East Coast, the Nuns Valley), as well as the walking and levada tours (25 fontes, Pico do Arieiro / Madeira Peaks, and the Lakes of Madeira). Each one has been so wonderful - the tour guides and the drivers are so lovely, with excellent knowledge about the island and where the best places are to stop. Most of them can speak a number of languages! The staff in the office are also incredibly helpful and kind when we have needed to make amendments to our bookings or in the event of cancellations, they have been very proactive in arranging for the refund, etc. Really cannot recommend their minibus tours enough in particular, as the smaller groups are much cosier and (seem to be) easier to wrangle in terms of getting on/off at various stops. Really rcommend booking with them if you are considering any sort of tour or walk on the island.

Really recommend this tour operator. I did the West, East, Nuns Valley tour in addition to 2 hikes: 25 Fountain Levada and Mountain Peaks hike. The guided I had for all the tours José and Charlotte were extremely professional, friendly and knowledgeable. They maximize the day, change the order of the stops based on weather and even made additional stops so we could see more if we had extra time. The only reason why I am giving it 4 stars is because the seats in the van are extremely uncomfortable and my legs didnt fit and I had to sit sideways many times (I am 194cm). Thank you Lido and hope to do more tours soon.

Haben die Westtour (mit Bruno) gemacht. Pünktliche Abholung vom Kreuzfahrtschiff zum Stadtbüro, wo dann auch andere Teilnehmer warteten. Fahrt im Kleinbus mit vielen Erklärungen während der Fahrt, gut dosierte Pausen. Stopp in Porto Moniz für meinen Geschmack mit 2.5 h etwas lang, aber für Leute, die baden wollen, passend. Insgesamt sehr empfehlenswert

We had an amazing day today with Marco on the West Tour. I booked last minute on last night and travelling with a baby and I require hotel pick as I m staying a little further out of Funchal and the team were amazing in arranging a pickup and providing a car seat in the mini bus. The tour it s self was amazing and so informative. I will definitely be using Lido Tours when I m back in Madeira.

Waren Anfang Dezember 2022 mit der Mein Schiff Herz auf Madeira und haben mit Lido Tours die Wanderung Serra DÁgua Tal gemacht. Tour war echt toll und wie beschrieben nicht wirklich anstrengend. Tour Guide Luisa war sehr nett und hat es super gemacht. Preis-/Leistungsverhältnis sehr gut. Wir würden beim nächsten mal wieder was bei Lido Tours buchen.

Wir haben die Ost-Tour auf Madeira gebucht. Obwohl die Tour auf deutsch beworben wurde, wurde letztendlich nur Englisch und Portugiesisch gesprochen. Aus der einstündigen Mittagspause wurde eine zweistündige, man hatte den Eindruck, dass der Guide keine Lust mehr hatte. Schade...

Professional tour company with friendly and knowledgeable guides. We booked the West tour which we really enjoyed. Nice transport, very informative and a good pace. Went back and booked a half day Levada walk which was also very enjoyable. Would recommend and will use again when we return to Maderia.

Great tours, we went on 4 throughout the week, the West and East tour, both full days. The Nuns Valley and Paradise Valley levada walk. The day tours are great value and you get to see so much of island. Fingers crossed you get clear days as the views are spectacular. Nuns Valley is also very picturesque with amazing views. Our guide Bruno was very informative and good to hear the same jokes on the 2 tours for which he was our guide. The only disappointment was the Paradise Valley levada walk, which to be honest was far from Paradise and very expensive for what it was, just a stroll on section of one of the levadas. Overall we were glad we did all 4 as we saw so much of the island, which is stunning.

If youre under 90, and dont want to have the most miserable experience of your life - dont book this tour (Valley of Nuns). The guide talks to you only in a mini bus (while commenting on the traffic most of the time), and just leaves you to wander around for 30-40 min each time in the most boring places in the universe wheres nothing interesting to do, or see. You cant even use that time to have a meal because restaurants cant prepare it on time, so you just end up waiting for time to pass. So bad its funny.

If youre under 70, arent a heavy drinker, or want to actually enjoy your day - dont bother with the valley of nuns tour. Not only did the tour guide just tell us all about the traffic, roadworks, and her persoal life, she actively pushes you towards her friends businesses. 40 minutes at a lookout that is 90% souvenire shop and 10 minute walk for to take an average photo. Then in the valley itself your dropped off next to another souvenire shop and have 30 minutes to kill time as you dont have enough time to eat a meal, but 3x the amount needed to see everything in the village. By the time we reached the third stop we knew the drill. Kill 30 minutes and smell what you could have eaten if you had taken a taxi there for half the price, then rush back to the rickety minibus.

Lido Tours seems a wel organized company. The booking proces is easy and they respond to your emails. I did enjoy the smaller, shorter hikes on the less popular Levada walks because they where done in a small group, maximum 6 or 7 people and where not overcrowded. All the guides are very nice and professional. The very popular and more demanding walks (Picos and 25 fountains) where done with 21-22 people and just one guide. Even in September 2021, still in the pandemic, these places where very much overcrowded since all the (many) tour companies keep to the same schedule (more or less 9 till 5). For these walks I would advice to find a smaller company who can avoid these times or places.

Hatten einen wunderschönen Urlaub auf Madeira und das lag unter anderem an Lido Tours. Wir haben insgesamt drei Wander- und zwei Bustouren gebucht und waren mit allem mehr als zufrieden. Die Touren waren alle perfekt organisiert, wir konnten unfassbar viel von der Insel sehen und hatten jeden Tag viel Spaß mit unseren Tourguides. Der nächste Madeiraurlaub ist schon geplant :)

We did several tours with Lido Tours (all with Sarah) and it could not have been any better. The Rabacal/25 Fontes/Risco Walking Tour was super informative and I am very happy that we did not go on our own, as we first planned. We learned so much about the plants and the wildlife, it was great (and sometimes almost unbelievable!). The walk is a bit exhausting but if you have good walking or better hiking shoes and are ok with walking a bit faster (at least faster as just strolling around) and dont have too many issues with knees (one long staircase), youll be fine. And Sarah was just the best guide. She was informative, helpful, very caring about her group and super friendly and fun - what else could you wish for? The Larano Walk is a different walk when it comes to nature and views. First you should be absolutely sure not to have issues with vertigo because at some point youll walk along the cliffs and not too far from the rim. But if you are ok with this, its an amazing walk! Again lots of information about nature and the environment, about the old capitol Machico and so much more. My husband also did the mountain tour and he was totally happy with Lido Tours and that he did it as a guided tour. For all tours we were picked up at our hotel in Canico by busses and Sarah told us about the things we had to do due to Covid19 (sanitize hands, wear masks etcv.). The drivers have been friendly and they are quite good drivers as we could see along some narrow streets. So over all we can absolutely recommend Lido Tours and, of course, especially Sarah as a guide. We certainly would book with them again!

Absolutely beautiful excellent hiking excursion. The guides were great!

All booking process with Lido Tours was correct and everything worked fine. We had 3 tours - on 2 of them, the guides were correct and provided some basic information about the different locations (Idalina and Roberto). The last one (Jose) barely spoke, and gave a clear impression that talking to the people is not his strong point, despite being a guide. During the east tour we spent long periods without a single word in the van ( not even radio/music to better spend the time). It seemed that we were in a taxi, being taken from place to place and not in a tour. The explanations were very basic and should have been more complete ( this also applies to the other guides, although in a less extent).

We went on on a tour as far as Porto Moniz in the northwest and all around Our driver Roberto had the most calming voice as he narrated all the history of the area Was well pleased Id recommend that anyone that is new here to do at least one of the tours

I thoroughly enjoyed my tour with Roberto he was a fabulous tour guide! I learnt so much about Madiera. The stops were great and he gave us enough time at each stop. He also asked about lunch if we wanted to eat with him or not and it didnt feel pressurised. It was a wonderful experience and defintiely recommend!

Pleasant stroll along the lavada with a lovely helpful guide but I spent most of the time looking at the ground to keep an eye on my footing due to the drop on one side and the lavada on the other so missed most of the scenery

Sara was absolutely fantastic! It rained during our trip but it was still very beautiful.
