Portugal by Van - Campervan Hire Lisbon, Porto, Faro em Linda-a-Velha

Aluguei uma carrinha para 3 pessoas, pois era a mais barata, e usei-a só para mim, para um evento ao ar livre que ocorreu durante o fim de semana. Para aquilo que precisava, a carrinha foi perfeita. Conforto para dormir, uma cozinha básica e eficaz. Sem WC, mas tinha WC no evento. A bateria interior deu para carregar equipamentos e usar o frigorífico durante os 3 dias. O serviço no pré e no pós aluguer foi também impecável, ajudaram a esclarecer todas as dúvidas rapidamente, e foi tudo claro e eficaz em relação aos pagamentos e devolução da caução. Única nota menos positiva (mas ainda assim merecem as 5 estrelas) foi que no final quando fui entregar a carrinha, a pessoa responsável avaliou o estado da carrinha, e escreveu numa nota que fez questão de me mostrar e assinar, que a carrinha estava suja por dentro e por fora. Ora, quando se usa uma caravana durante 3 dias, é normal que mesma fique suja. O responsável não foi capaz de me esclarecer quanto seria o pagamento extra para a limpeza, e com isso fiquei preocupado, pois não contava com esse pagamento extra. Mas tudo acabou, pois no dia seguinte recebi msg doutra pessoa, a dizer que estava tudo ok, e não foi cobrado nenhum extra para a limpeza (a carrinha estava suja, mas nada fora do normal dada a utilização típica). Recomendo este serviço, e conto usar mais vezes!

Perfect trip with the van !

Má experiência, não recomendo a ninguém. A empresa intitula-se como low cost , mas não mencionam nos orçamentos taxas de limpeza e outras taxas que depois exigem na entrega da mesma. Posto isto, o depósito de 2000 inicial, nunca os vão recuperar na totalidade porque irão aplicar taxas para só devolverem uma parte desses 2000 As carrinhas têm problemas técnicos e várias amolgadelas que não estão registadas pela empresa e que causam dúvida na entrega das mesmas. Neste caso só conseguimos provar que não tínhamos sido nós porque tínhamos feito um vídeo. Resumidamente, não recomendamos esta empresa

We had a great, hassle-free, and comfortable two weeks with our rented campervan. From communication and preparation to the handling of pickup and return, everything went reliably and perfectly with the company. We always felt safe and well taken care of. Personally, we are not fans of plastic dishes or cutlery, but with a small set that you might bring yourself, that wasnt a problem either. We can highly recommend Portugal by Van.

Esperienza assolutamente positiva! Come da accordi, abbiamo ritirato il van a Porto e lo abbiamo lasciato a Lisbona. Il van era pensato per accogliere 3 persone ed era assolutamente adatto a questo numero di ospiti. A disposizione, senza costi aggiuntivi, erano inclusi: lavandino, frigorifero, fornello da campeggio con bombola, 3 sedie, 1 tavolo, 2 pentole, 1 padella, utensili vari per la cucina e ovviamente i set di piatti, posate e bicchieri. Il van era inoltre dotato di un doccino esterno, un tettuccio aprile, una finestrella laterale e le tendine per la privacy. Erano presenti due prese USB e una presa classica (questultima utilizzabile però solo se collegati alla corrente). Lenergia del van si ricarica attraverso i pannelli solari e il movimento dello stesso mezzo. Non siamo mai rimaste senza energia. I letti erano disposti a castello: uno adatto a due persone in basso e uno singolo sopra. In quello superiore può stendersi con gambe distese una persona alta fino a 1,70 cm. Il deposito dopo il noleggio è stato restituito in pochissimi giorni. Un ringraziamento speciale a Teresa, che ha risposto in maniera tempestiva e puntuale a tutte le nostre domande!

Ottima esperienza. Comunicazione via mail e whatsapp velocissima, ragazzi sempre molto disponibili, prezzi onesti. Ci siamo divertiti molto a esplorare le meraviglie del Portogallo in van! Il mezzo era comodo e spazioso, consumo diesel inferiore alle aspettative (con un solo pieno abbiamo girato da nord a sud e siamo tornati!). Consiglio di visitare il paese come noi in bassa stagione, abbiamo potuto godere di panorami splendidi esclusivamente per noi o quasi, girare in van è stato quindi abbastanza semplice.

Tive o privilégio de fazer uma semana de van com esta empresa. Estou muito satisfeita com tudo, desde o atendimento, até às condições da caravana e conclusão de transação. Fiquei na Elegant Duo, uma pequena, mas super completa carrinha Mercedes modificada, que comporta muito bem ate duas pessoas. Recomendo e irei repetir!

Wir waren 2,5 Wochen mit dem Van unterwegs. Die Abwicklung über Teresa war wirklich perfekt - besonders vor Ort war es sehr herzlich und wir konnten sogar schon früher starten. Auch die Rückgabe war total problemlos. Können wir wirklich nur empfehlen! Gerne wieder!

I had a superb experience and I reccomend to everybody. They are extremely professional and kind. The van was really nice equipped, solar panels gave us a huge autonomy without being connected to the line (for phones, lights, fridge). The kitchen worked nice, the fridge had nice space and made its job and less than a half of the gas bottle was enough for 5 days (as italian you know, moka in the morning and pasta for lunch). Teresa and the crew were wonderful and I will use their vans again in future. A little, little not nice experience with the bed, its just my personal opinion but it was too thiny and needs to be improved with a foam model or anything else more comfortable. But yeah, its a van not a hotel room, if you bring some inflatable with you is better for your back. Excellent experience....looking forward to come again!

We rented a van for 2+1 people a few weeks ago. Actually, it was brand new, with just 2500km, equipped with everything you may need during the stay. Great staff availability for communication before reservation and during your stay. The van presentation is accurate and complete, even if you re very inexperienced with campervan life, you ll be able to manage with clean/dirty water, energy supply etc etc. very important: deposit has been 100%refunded shortly after drop off! Ì didn t realize I forgot a jacket inside it and they shipped it at my spot in a few days. 100% I would advice these guys!

era una empresa familiar conocimos a Sofia hace años! que fuimos por primera vez mi pareja y yo y suuuuper bien. Éste año volvimos con el peque y ya nos atendian por correo varias personas distintas....ya no es familiar y pequeña. Se volvieron un tanto peseteros cobrando gastos de administración... y el depósito de 2000 euros q hay q dejar no es una retención en tu tarjeta es un dinero q te cobran y te devuelven pero tardan 1 semana....

Teresa is the chillest person you will ever meet. She responded to all my inquires quickly with attention to detail. And when I dropped in unannounced to have a look at the vans, she wasnt the least bit put off. Kind as they come. After reading all the horrific reviews about IC and most of the rental car companies, my experience at portugalbyvan was a breathe of fresh air. Ultimately I didnt go with the only van they had for my schedule because Im 63 (190cm) and the bed would have been a tight squeeze. Obviously this review lacks a full experience from pickup to drop off, but after seeing their operation in person, I felt like I could trust these guys. My only suggestion would be to add a layout with dimensions of each van to the website. Maybe they had one and I just couldnt find it. Either way, make sure you address the bed dimensions if youre a little on the taller side. Muito obrigado!

We spent two weeks in the Ducato Van and it was a great experience! The customer service and communication was really good. If you have a question or problem in advance or on the road, Portugal by Van is always available and happy to help out. Would defenitively recommend it.

Nous avons réservé le van pour notre road trip au Portugal en famille avec notre bébé de 1 an en mai 2022. Van propre, fonctionnel. Nous avons passé de très bonnes vacances. Il manque juste des draps et couettes qui ne sont pas fournis.

I had a great time exploring Portugal with Portugal by Van! Teresa was wonderful to work with, very kind and easy to communicate with. I booked one of the smaller vans, which was great for one person. It s simple but comfortable and in good condition, had everything I needed. I appreciated that the prices were very affordable compared to other van companies I looked at, a great value. Just make sure to get the extras you need, like bedding. I also got WiFi which was very helpful. Highly recommend. Obrigada!

Very helpful and friendly staff with fast response time. Van was as described, had no major problems. The problems we did have are the following: - the table was very wobbly and God forbid somebody put some weight onto it, youd break it in half. - the sunshades were very difficult to fixate onto the windows with those vacuum fixations and would fall off if you looked at them wrong, so we just gave up on them and didnt use them. Id suggest replacing them with magnets. - water in the kitchen sink was draining very slowly. - some closets opened a couple of times during driving and stuff fell out. Id recommend a stronger closing mechanism. - while driving on bumpy roads it would get very loud in the van due to everything in the van shaking. We werent expecting that, but than again it was our first van ride so perhaps that is normal. Still, less noise on bumpy roads would have been appreciated. But all and all a great experience, would recommend.

Super friendly and competent staff! Their response time via e-mail is fast. The instructions for the van are clear and documented in a video. Very cool! We had a Renault Master (4 seater) which accompanied us for 2 weeks during our stay in Portugal. Reliable car, no issues. The cost-benefit ratio is good. I can strongly recommend it!

Expérience excellente !! Toute léquipe est à lécoute, répondant rapidement aux messages, que ce soit par mail ou par WhatsApp. Nous avons choisi la formule de livraison de la van à laéroport. Cétais super. Dès la sortie de laéroport on était déjà bien installés dans la van. Après quelques minutes dexplication et détat de lieux on est vite partis à notre destination. Par rapport à la van, rien à ire. Très propre et fonctionnelle. Nous sommes allés avec notre petite fille de 3 ans qui a adoré lexpérience. Côté conduite, la van est facile à conduire. Theresa was really really helpful and answered all of our questions. Van ran good and was easy to drive. One tip though: If you have anything (chairs tables, etc) outside your van in a natural park area, it counts as camping and GNR can hit you with a 120 fine! Theresa was also super helpful in helping us deal with this fine. Overall great experience and great value for money

We loved our road trip with Portugal by Van! They were such an awesome company with the nicest employees - Teresa in particular was super helpful, friendly, and a great communicator. When we had a minor issue with the van she helped us solve it straight away. The van was really clean and nicely taken care of. We loved being able to explore Portugal in a camper van!

Zunächst das positive. Teresa bemüht sich wirklich einen guten Job zu machen ! Nun kommen wir schon zum Schlechten. Wir hatten schon noch 2 Tagen einen einen Tausch-Van weil der erste einige Macken am Herd, der Batterie und dem Wasser hatte. Er war so nicht brauchbar! Der zweite Van hat 3 Tage durchgehalten und war dann 3 Tage in der Werkstatt. Wir wurden komplett im Stich gelassen und haben auf Druck erst Abends 21 Uhr eine Unterkunft über AirBnb bekommen. Und das mit zwei Kleinkindern. Unser Urlaub wurde zum Alptraum. Keine Erstattung für die Tage in der Werkstatt. Wir waren an den Tagen wie Obdachlose gefangen in Portugal. Horror der mit der vorzeitigen Kündigung und einem selbstbezahlten Mietwagen und Ferienwohnung endete. Nie wieder !!!!

Portugal by Van est une entreprise locale. Jai été impressionnée par la qualité du service donné par Teresa avant, pendant et après ma réservation. Elle a toujours répondu clairement à toutes mes questions. La caravane quatre places était propre et bien équipée. Pour un meilleur confort, je vous suggère dêtre seulement deux ou trois adultes dans cette caravane, les lits ne sont pas très larges et le lit du haut est un peu moins long. Par contre, comme il ny a pas de système de chauffage intégré, cétait un peu frais pour la fin du mois de février. Malgré plusieurs petites routes très étroites dans certains villages, on a réussi à bien se diriger et à se stationner. Je vous conseille, par contre, de vous stationner à lentrée des petits villages et de vous promener à pied, cest plus agréable. Tous les stationnements étaient gratuits, sauf un à 1,50 euro. En passant, on a fait environ 1 000 km à travers ce beau pays ! Merci Portugal by Van !

Der Van war ideal für unsere Bedürfnisse und den Beschreibungen auf der Webseite entsprechend ausgestattet. Für so einen fairen Preis darf man keinen Luxus erwarten, wir waren trotzdem mit allem zufrieden und es hat an nichts gefehlt. Wärend und vor unserem Trip hatten wir Support vom Team, Teresa ist ein herzlicher, hilfsbereiter und vertrauenswürdiger Mensch. Sodass, wir nie Bedenken haben mussten. Good value for money. Very friendly, helpful and professional staff. The only thing missing is a few bowls in the crockery available. Otherwise, we really enjoyed it.

6 days in the small van went by so fast and we really enjoyed the experience from the beginning to the end. Very good communication and flexibility, simple but well equipped van. We (2 friends) had the Fiat Ducato and I would recommend it for 2 adults, but not 3, as beds are smaller than regular ones. Plenty of space underneath the beds to store your luggage, as well as some compartments inside the cabin for clothes etc. The kitchen provides everything you need, including a powerful gas stove. Bring your bed sheets, towel and moka coffee maker, and you are good to go! Thank you for everything, Portugal by van !

We just had 2 fantastic weeks in the campervan of Portugal by Van. Very friendly organisation, high quality van: warm water, outside shower, fridge on solar energy (as well as light and usbs). I cannot wait to go back and enjoy the coast of Portugal again!

We had an amazing experience with the team of Portugal by Van. Everyone was extremely helpful, friendly and responsive. The Van offered everything we needed including cooking supplies, showers etc. - only the beds are a bit shorter than in other camper vans so make its sufficient for your needs :)

I genuinely thought the reviews were fake before booking with this company because they were so consistently good! After renting a van from them for a week I can confirm that they are worth the consistent 5 stars. They literally have the best customer service I have experienced from any sort of rental company. They dont make you feel ripped off adding on extras or make you panicked about making a little scratch, they are professional, but so friendly and calm. The van is just what you need if you want to be outside exploring and parking up in remote spots for sunsets. I will definitely be sending people their way and returning in the future. Thanks very much guys for such a great experience!

To travel Portugal by Van has been a perfect experience We booked a 3 seats and used as a couple but, for few days, also my son Andrea, joined and the Van was comfortable also for the 3 of us. The luxury is that, by Van, you may join places so beautiful and sleep there...great ocean view. See pictures here. It was our first time to drive a camper van but - thanks to Sofie and Andrè (who gave us all instructions) - the experience have been smooth and unforgettable! I will surely recommend it to anybody.

(We did not rent a van in the end). Before deciding what to do on our holidays wewere in contact with Portugal by Van. We received fast and great replies within just a few hours. Sofia helped us with all of our questions and made suggestions that would fit our plans. In the end we decided something else for our trip. This company is legit. Rundum zufrieden. Kontakt, Reaktionsfreudigkeit auf Anfragen, alles klasse. Wir bekamen den den Van pünktlich nach Porto geliefert, um von dort unsere Reise zu starten. Der Van selbst war in gutem Zustand (130.000km Laufleistung), das Zubehör war allerdings etwas in die Tage gekommen. 1 Stuhl kaputt, Töpfe sehr gebraucht und ohne Deckel und leider keine Schalen (für Müsli oder Ähnliches). Matratzen schienen ok, aber unsere Rücken sind wohl mittlerweile etwas wählerischer (wir hatten ziemlich schnell Rückenschmerzen). Beim Rest war alles top, hatten unsere Kaution auch zügig wieder und wurden sogar zur nächsten Metro gefahren. Können PBV nur empfehlen!

Just back from a trip using Portugal by Van and cannot recommend them more. We had the most incredible time, the van was extremely reliable and roomy, Sofia and Igor and the team were so so helpful and Portugal was an absolute dream. We will be back to do the south coast as soon as we can!

Me and my girlfriend booked a van with PBV for a week in October 2019. Since the beginning Sofia gave me clear indications of their process through e-mails. We took the Fiat Ducato with surfboards and internet. Once in Portugal, I took possession of the van in Faro and returned it in Odivelas. When we noticed there was a mistake with the items we had reserved, Sofia immediately came to me with alternative solutions and commercial gesture. The problem had been solved before anything. When we gave back the van Sofia explained me their process regarding the 2k euros payment I had made and that they had to give me back, which they did in time. I basically think and feel PBV is a great, friendly and reliable company from A to Z for all of those who want to hit the road with their vans, that are very well thought and equipped!

I am French and my partner Australian it was the first time for us to visit Portugal (we took the van for 16 days). I warmly recommend to everyone to hire a van with Portugal by Van. Camper was in weak condition: radio, cooking facility, surfboard mounting and air condition were completely broken or at least didnt work properly. And they provided a wrong bill at the end! So after all I would not recommend them. Two stars only for a nice crew.

She answered all of our question before the actual booking. We picked-up the van in Porto, as we started our trip there. The delivering person was perfectly in time. The return of the car was fast and easy. These small damages, we oversaw at the delivery, were no problem. The car was in good condition and reliable. The price of the headlight bulb, we fixed during the travel, was refunded by sophia afterwards. The deposit was fastly transfered back to our bank account. Portugal by van is perfectly reliable and there is always someone to talk to, if there arise any questions. We really enjoyed our holiday hosted by PbV it was a great experience and the service of sophia and her team is more than recommendable. The reason for rating one star less is due to the point, that we had to find the small bumps on our own at delivery. We booked the camper for a longer weekend to explore the whole coast from Peniche down to Sagres. The team is very nice and helpful. The Camper has everything needed, was spacy enough for luggage, surfboards etc. It drives well and in comparison to some private Campers doesnt have any issues. Recommended - CU next time :)

A very nice team, comprehensive and effective. Really good communication and exchanges per mail, phone and sms. The camper was quite new and easy to drive. Weve apreciate the solar panel which charge the secondary battery, we never had to ask for electricity at the camping-place. Maybe few little things to add as basic equipments, for example basin, sponge and a strainer.

Auch bei Problemen wurde eine Lösung gefunden, die für beide Seiten Akzeptabel war.

We rented a van from Portugal by Van in August 2018 for 8 days and it was truly one of the best travel experience we ever had. We were travelling with a baby and everything went better than we expected. We did have a mix-up with the times of departure and arrival at first but they made great efforts to make sure that we were satisfied and they delivered. To me, its when problems arise that you see how good a company is and I am there to tell you that they are exceptional. The person that greeted us when picking up the van and bringing it back was extremely nice and helpful. He was very thorough in his explanations and helped us around the neighborhood to find a grocery store and a restaurant. The vans were in good shape. A few things didnt work perfectly, but not to a point that it became a problem. It is to be expected from vans that are used so much by different people anyway. Im sure its the same for all companies. They offer the Via Verde system so you dont have to worry about tolls on any highway in Portugal. The wi-fi worked well, the solar shower was helpful. Do bring additionnal sheets or a sleeping bag because nights can get cold even in August and the two sheets they provide might not be enough. We parked overnight on beach parkings in several spots and we never had any trouble. We used the Park4night app on our phone to find the best places. I highly recommend touring Portugal in a van and if you do, you really should trust Portugal by Van. There are many great ways to see Portugal. Renting a campervan from PORTUGAL BY VAN is NOT one of them. They are a budget campervan company and you truly get what you pay for, which is nothing by a headache and an empty wallet. We had one of their Vans for 8 nights and that was 7 too many. The mattress was about 3cm thick, there isn t a fridge (despite being told there was one), bedding is not included and there is hardly any room to store anything. To top it off, the way they treated us was nothing short of deplorable. Sofia, the main point of contact, was a nightmare to deal with. They do not accept foreign credit cards and the security deposit is actually just a payment that they are supposed to pay back after the van is returned. We paid 2000 euro for this deposit which took 3 international bank transfers at $30/transfer and then when it came time to get the money back they shorted us because they expected us to pay their bank fees as well. There were red flags all over this trip. I am sure there are great rental companies throughout the country, PORTUGAL BY VAN IS NOT ONE OF THEM. Consider yourself warned.

The transfer, the briefing, the most detailed, Ive never experienced anything like that! PortugalbyVan was a nice experience, the features in the van, 2 USB ports, 12 volts Interface with which I could run my notebook, and the service to questions via whatsapp, I got a quick answer.

We (2 person) rented this camper in June 2018 for 1 week and travelled with it along the coast between Lisbon and Porto. And it was AMAZING! Camper has all we needed and we never had any trouble with it. It also easily could fit our two surfboards (64 + 72) inside the cabin while driving/sleeping. Well rent it again :) (Hopefully in 2019 already ;) )
