Worst experience at a rental car agency I've had. Scam alert
Your company did not have anyone at the airport for us to get our cars. Someone from the airport gave you a call, you said that you were closing, and that we can pick up our cars the next day. We called the next day and you would not help us in any way at all, deflecting all responsibility. Worse still, you have not refunded all of my money. I'll be getting in touch with the Portuguese complaints department to make an entry in your black book. I could not control the issues that occurred with my flight, and I was looking for your rental people before 6pm. It was only when we gave up because we could not find them that we called. In the United States, even businesses generally show compassion on their customers, even if they don't value human beings, because they value their bottom line profits. Such disregard for my family is inexcusable, not simply because I am a paying customer, but because I am a human being, and you stranded my family of 6, including four children under 8, at the airport after having traveled all night/morning. Furthermore, you lied to us when you said we could pick up the cars the next day. You should be ashamed of yourselves. As for the money, there was a fee paid when we made the reservation and paid for insurance. VIPcars, the company through whom we made the reservation, said you were keeping that money as a no show fee. With this money not having been returned, I will file a formal complaint in Portugal in addition to the one I already filed with the United States FTC. I will also contest the charge with my credit card company with full documentation of how the situation was handled.

Just had the worst experience ever with this terrible branch. My brother, sister-in-law, and four children just arrived after a very long flight from the United States. Their airline lost their car seats. Their youngest is an infant. And this Ace branch, even after promising to hold TWO cars for them, knowing they wouldn't touch down until 1600, was CLOSED at 18:00! This young family of 6 people, three children under 5, were stranded in a foreign country and no car seats to even use in an Uber because of this awful company. We only wait to see if they will refund the money THEY ALREADY TOOK. Don't listen to their "promises to do better" or their "we're so sorry" replies. They don't care about customers. Period. Let them die as a company which is what happens when you constantly fail your customers. EDIT: I've come to add more to this story. After calling the branch again this morning to see if any employees had managed to drag themselves out of bed to be at work by 11:00am, we were told that they would not even look up the reservations they were supposed to hold and deliver to us the afternoon before. We were denied service from them for a second day in a row. I can confirm with what others have said below that their staff are very arrogant. In the end, we will most likely cancel the reservation and go with a completely different company, never to use ACE again in any part of the world. A bad branch reflects on a bad company.
Reading the bad reviews, I can understand that some people might have had bad luck, because according to my experience, this company delivered on what was booked. They were clear about the holds, polite, and provided good customer service. Something worth highlighting: the deposit hold from the bank was released the next day, and the full insurance they offered wasn't as high as it usually is with other car rental companies. We only had to wait 20 minutes for the transfer, but it wasn't a problem. I would book with this company again.
Avoid - super dodgy… phone number in app and phone number on confirmation do not match. Wasted hours getting my rental car at ACE Rental Car at Lisboa Airport !!

Quero partilhar a minha excelente experiência com esta companhia de aluguer de automóveis, foi um serviço excelente desde a recepção até à devolução do carro, viaturas fantásticas em frota, muito acima do que é disponibilizado em outras empresas no mesmo segmento! Recomendo vivamente os serviços da ACE Rent A Car! Um bem haja a toda a equipa!
Péssima locadora. Nos deixaram esperando no aeroporto de Lisboa. Tivemos que falar com outra locadora para ligarem e avisar que estávamos esperando. Quando chegaram ficaram nos procurando sem nenhuma identificação. No momento de retirada do veículo quiseram cobrar o mesmo valor da reserva como calção, mesmo eucontratando seguro total do veículo. E como eu não tinha o saldo suficiente no cartão, não liberaram o veículo e perdi o dinheiro. Uma vergonha para essa empresa tomar o dinheiro das pessoas que vem de outro país. Espero que sejam éticos e devolvam o meu dinheiro.

Bedienung war sehr unfreundlich und wollte die Kreditkarte nicht annehmen. Haben dann ein Schmutziges und total verdrecktes Auto bekommen. Es war nicht mal Spritzflüssigkeit im Auto vorhanden. Und jetzt 3 Wochen nach dem Urlaub buchen sie UNBEFUGT Geld ab. Gehe dirt niemals wieder hin !!! Ist NICHT zu EMPFEHLEN! Wenn ich 0 Sterne geben könnte würde ich das auch tun ! Und unter anderem steht nicht ausdrücklich in den Geschäftsbedingungen, das sie lediglich VISA Karten wollen. Hatte eine Nagelneue Kreditkarte die aber von meinem Normalen Girokonto abgeht, wollte der er nicht, sei angeblich keine VISA/kreditkarte, obwohl dick und fest drauf stand Mastercard !!! Sehr komischer laden
Allucinante ! Siamo bloccati in aereoporto da piu di due ore .. non rispondono al numero di riferimento datoci al momento della prenotazione e non si vede anima viva che ci recuperi e che ci consegni lauto .. servizio PESSIMO! ..

La personne sensée nous accueillir à laéroport était en retrait avec un tout petit écriteau, il a fallu appeler 3 fois le bureau et faire toutes les entrées de laéroport pour le trouver. Ensuite, 35 min dattente avec que le chauffeur (fort sympathique) ne vienne nous chercher. Désillusion au moment de prendre la voiture, lagent qui nous reçoit nous dit quil ny aura pas de location si nous ne prenons pas la formule dassurance toutes options à 25 par jour !!! Ce qui double le prix de la location. Cette personne nous explique de façon réellement antipathique que cest comme ça et quil ne fera rien dautre. Soi disant pour sassurer du débit de notre carte ...... Ce qui na JAMAIS été indiqué au moment de la réservation ni au moment du premier paiement. Au moment de restituer le véhicule, lagence ouvre avec 45 min de retard sans aucune explication. Nous avons été très fortement déçu et ne recommandons pas cette plateforme.
Locamos uma viatura com an ace, para além da espera de 1h no aeroporto pelo transporte quando chegamos à locadora tinha APENAS UM FUNCIONÁRIO ! para todo o serviço abertura do contrato a recolha dos que chegaram na altura e ainda ir buscar os carros para os entregar! Em plena época alta inacreditável para tantos clientes. Quanto ao funcionário o seu atendimento foi impecável no entanto com demora visto estar sozinho . Não recomendo

Personale disponibile e gentile, non insistente su ulteriori servizi aggiuntivi e chiari nella spiegazione. Macchina nuova, ibrida (quindi consumi bassissimi), dotata di tutte le moderne tecnologie (driver assistant, limitatore di velocità, retrocamera, sensori, ecc) a prezzi più bassi che auto di minor categoria di altri noleggi. Abbiamo usufruito del servizio navetta per laeroporto. Per noi un servizio perfetto.
Unfreundlich! Wir wurden mit den Worten schauen Sie auf Ihre Abholzeit begrüßt. Keine Erklärungen, keine freundlichen Worte. Auch beim Aufsetzen des Vertrags (eine halbe Stunde später) wurde mir nur auf mein Nachfragen einige Details dazu erklärt (bitte lauter sprechen!). Das Auto wurde mir mit den Worten das ist Ihr Auto übergeben, ohne gemeinsamen Rundumgang oder Erklärungen zur Bedienung. Es war dann ein Automatik obwohl ich Schaltgetriebe gebucht hatte.... Der zweite Mitarbeiter war sehr nett, wir haben uns zwischenzeitlich mit ihm unterhalten. Keine Erfahrung, die ich wiederholen werde.
Not a hello from José, the person who came to pick us up with the shuttle. Then credit card problem (due to my bank) this gentleman was unfriendly or even disrespectful. Unacceptable! A letter is being drafted.
