The vehicle lost power at some point and also had the old sign throughout the rental. Perhaps needed a service.
We rented a car during the low season (last week of November), and had a pleasant and easy experience with the pick up and drop off of our car. We rented from the Santa Alpónia location. Finding the location was a bit tricky because of construction, but we managed to find it and had no issues. The employees who served us were great and were flexible with our drop off time, which we really appreciated. The car we were given was an EV that was clean, new, and the battery capacity was perfect for our trip. No need to charge upon return, which was super convenient. We enjoyed our experience and would rent from EuropeCar again.

Agent in charge on did not accept my documentation for renting a car. My temporary replacement license didn't have an embossed seal. California doesn't do that. Had my passport and a print out of the stolen license as well. Took the same documentation to another EuroCar location in Lisbon and we were rented a car, no problem. Booking.com was of no help at all when we needed them to switch renter first name to my wife. I was disconnected on transfers between departments 4 times. Filed a complaint with Booking. They only sent a standard, "sorry about that" reply.
Be aware this location is closed between 2-3pm on Mondays-Fridays. I had a reservation made for 2pm and received no alerts about the location closing at that time. I arrived at 2:02pm and had to wait the whole hour.
Santa Apolonia was our pick-up point. The pick-up staff was friendly and helpful. We needed a car 2 hours earlier than originally booked and it was kindly provided to us. We got the same car that was booked in advance, the child safety seats were of high quality (!) and the car was pretty new and in good condition. We had a good experience and were very satisfied with the service.
We had a couple of problems renting our car at this Europcar station in Lisbon. Not only couldn't we pay our deposit with my debit card, also the owner of this place was quite rude when we confronted him with our issues. Of course we were quite disappointed as he told us that it isn't possible to rent a car without a credit card although we payed more money in order to rent the card with debit card. After a lot of discussions the owner got very unfriendly and even screamed at my friend. After discussing for about one hour, his assistant told us another option on how we can get a car. Our visit at this Europcar station was quite stressful and I wouldn't recommend it. Next time I will choose another Europcar station in Lisbon.
The only issue was a small queue during the pickup, but since it was a public holiday, it was understandable. The car was amazing; it was new with only 20 km on it. The downside was that everyone was a bit nervous about potential new scratches and dents during the rides. However, everything else was perfect. The company provides excellent overall service, and I will definitely rent a car from this provider again. Thank you!
I booked a car through Europcar s website and scheduled my pickup for 6 PM. I arrived ON TIME at 6 PM guess what? The shop was CLOSED! What kind of business allows you to schedule a pickup when they re NOT EVEN OPEN?! This is beyond unacceptable. I had a trip planned for 6 AM the next day, and now I m left stranded without a car, all thanks to Europcar s absolute incompetence. I tried calling customer service, thinking surely they d fix their huge mistake but nope! Their response? Sorry, we can t help. Seriously?? This is how you treat paying customers? Europcar, you completely ruined my plans, wasted my time, and left me without any solution. If I could give zero stars, I would. Do yourself a favor and book with literally ANY other rental company unless you want to be stranded with no car and no help. Never again!

If we book a car size and you dont have that size for the pick-up you should give us a bigger one. Period. Instead, the staff member didnt informed us and gave us a smaller car, and when we asked for an explanation he was very rude and told us that if we didnt like it he would cancell de booking. Never booking with this company again. But if you should, DONT PICK UP YOUR CAR HERE. Use Airport or Alameda. This one is too small and the staff is awfull.

Quite possibly the worst car rental agency. I was given an electric car instead of the gas car I booked. We told them we were going to Spain, for which they charged us an additional 30 . Long story short, we got stranded in Seville, had to sleep in a parking lot, and struggled the whole drive back to Portugal to charge the car. Charge stations require their own apps, for which you have to register. Confirmation text measages and adding credit cards with American addresses failed every time. When we called for support, they were not available. When we thought we needed road side assistance to come get the car, we called them and were told they needed to first check with the tow truck driver to see when they could come get us. The tow truck driver called FOUR hours later. Thanks to the kindness of strangers, we were able to charge the car in parts to get back to out hotel in Armaçao de Pera, PT.

Grundsätzlich hat die Einweg Miete von Faro nach Lissabon reibungslos funktioniert. Das Auto war wie erwartet und in gutem Zustand. Leider war bei der Abgabe des Wagens keinerlei Information zu finden, wo er denn abgestellt werden sollte. Der Schalter war telefonisch nicht erreichbar und die Hotline überfordert. Gegenüber vom Bahnhof befindet sich ein kostenpflichtiger Parkplatz, wo die Europcar Fahrzeuge geparkt werden- einfach einfahren und nach Mitarbeitern suchen. Die Abgabe war dann reibungslos.

A bit of a challenge to return to if you are coming from a different city. After reading others reviews, I figured out that I should navigate into the paid parking lot with the Casanova restaurant, across the street from the Apalonia station. The europcar guys doing returns were at the very end of the lot, towards the southwest side.
No signage. Read other complaints to find it. Obviously don t care enough to update the location on maps. Spent 2 hours driving around and asking people.

Je suis un client régulier depuis des années de l agence Europcar Santa Apolonia mais aujourd hui ils me font un sacré coup de vache, ne pouvant pas me présenter le jour de la réservation, mon père ayant été hospitalisé la veille, j ai du reporter mon séjour à Lisbonne de quelques jours, J apprends que la réservation a été annulée pour non présentation et que Europcar conserve l argent, ils ne remboursent pas. Même si c est écrit dans leurs conditions générales c est du vol manifeste et une honte! Surtout que j ai envoyé un mail et tenté d appeler 20 fois l agence qui ne répondait jamais. Honte à vous!! I have been a regular customer for years at the Europcar Santa Apolonia agency but today they are playing a real dirty trick on me, not being able to show up on the day of the reservation, my father having been hospitalized the day before, I had to postpone my stay in Lisbon by a few days, I learned that the reservation was canceled for no-show and that Europcar is keeping the money, they are not refunding. Even if it is written in their general conditions it is obvious theft and a disgrace! Especially since I sent an email and tried to call the agency 20 times which never answered. Shame on you!!
This was the most difficult/confusing drop-off experience I have encountered. Zero signage outside the station and no help available via the customer service line. Basically you are supposed to leave your car with a guy in the unmarked lot near the cruise ships across from the station at the far end SW end of the lot (close to the cruise customs building). You ll have to get a ticket to enter this unmarked lot, which may take several minutes or longer to dispense if the parking lot is already full. When you get to the part of the lot where you leave the car (still unmarked), you ll need to give your keys and the ticket to an attendant. In our case it was a man with a gray shirt that did not say europcar. Good luck!

Never choose Europcar. They re terrible company that scams people and provides terrible service. When I came to the office to pickup the car that I ve booked in advance, the employee told me, that they don t have it, and instead of providing a car of higher class, they ve told me that they only can offer me a car of lower class. I ve accepted, but as it turned out this car had a broken lock. Which we didn t check, because the employee assured us, that we have full insurance, so we don t need to check anything. But because of the broken lock, we couldn t leave the car, and we learned that only when we were already in Sintra. When we came back 10 minutes before they were supposed to be closed, we ve learned, that all employees have already left and we had to urgently find another place to return the car, since we had a bus to catch. After the rental they ve recorded the damage to the lock on me, even though I told them, that it was broken from the start. Fortunately, it was covered by the full insurance, so this time they couldn t scam me (unlike another time, when I rented at Oriente)
You can try to make more difficult the procedure to return the rental car...!!!!! Try it ....then I give you 5 stars. You will have hard time.
Worst experience with this Europcar location. The drop off area is not signed, nor can any instructions be provided by customer service. They simply say it s at the train station. It s not. The actual return location is over the road at the cruise terminal - and we only found it after TWO hours of driving in circles and eventually spotting someone with a green Europcar shirt crossing a road. A complete waste of our time and a terrible experience

The staff at the desk at Santa Apolonia was great. The staff at the parking lot was rude and unhelpful and missed a huge dent in the car on his inspection. I think he missed it on purpose with the intention of blaming the damage on me. I had to ask him to redo the inspection, much to his annoyance. The first car was great but I then switched cars when I extended the contract by two days and was given a horrible car. The car had a lot of damage, many miles, and the infotainment system was completely broken. It was also a GOLDCAR car, as seen by the documents in the car, not a Europcar car. I think GOLDCAR must be a substandard arm of the Europcar companies.

Its not obvious where the drop off area is. Theres no signage at all. The drop off area is in the car par by the Passenger Terminal of Santa Apolonia. You need to get a car park ticket to enter the car park, park at the most south westerly point. There may or may not be a Europcar person there. There wasnt for me, I had to wander into the office (in the Western part of the station) to get a staff member to help with the return. Summary: Needs some online directions for car drop off. 4 stars due to 45 minute delay on car pickup in Porto due to it being so busy and the hire car not being ready. Otherwise straightforward car hire.

They had several cars avaliable online for $50/day. Went to counter and cheapest was a BMW for $400/day, took it since we had no choice, but this is what you get when they know you are a foreigner, they are a scam, use another company or book online

I wish we got his name, but the gentleman that helped us was so kind and considerate and compassionate. There was an accident on our way to drop the car off and it made us a little late but the guy (who could clearly see the accident from the window) saw the reason we were a few minutes late and was so nice about it. We were so stressed and he assured us. We have heard bad stories about Europcar but this was such an easy experience and we had a great holiday with the freedom of a brand new car to use. Highly recommend! And thank you so much to this employee. Europcar thrives because of people like him and they should give him a raise (maybe his name was Ignacio? I m not sure but he was a tan middle age gentleman) thank you!!!!

Dont rent a car from here. They charged me a whole extra day, 50 cause i was late at the drop off 5 minutes. There was an accident in Vasco da GAMA bridge and i was late 5 minutes, so they charged me, plus they do not pick up phones
Agence médiocre. Nous avions réservé une voiture pour 13h. En arrivant à l agence nous avons été très mal accueillis, la dame nous a fermé la porte au nez en disant que ça fermait pendant une heure. Résultat, nous avons dû attendre plus d une heure pour récupérer notre voiture pour une réservation à 13h. Pourquoi proposer la réservation à 13h et 13h30 si l agence ferme ? Je ne recommande pas du tout.

Never rent a car here! Theyre trying to charge me for 9 days even though I rent the car for 5 days and it broke down for no appare reason on the last day. I also paid for the car via Booking and they try to charge me separately for the days I had alreypaid for via booking. The branch never answers the phone so trying to sort via Booking customer service.

Apparently they emailed us a 4.30!!! They did not ring and we did not see the email as we was on holiday and it was 1.5 hours notice before pick up They were rude and aggressive and it was a lie as the car park was open. I think they just wanted to go home early as other reviews have stated. We were caused a lot of stress and out of pocket as we had to pay for taxis to the airport and we paid a premium for this location.

I have rented from Santa Apolónia many times and each time the people at the balcão are friendly and efficient. Mr. João, who works in the lot to hand over the keys, is always friendly and professional.
We were at 17.45 h at this return post. Its inside a train station and you have to park 500 metres away. The employee told he is not working overtime, and we were to late, but this office is opened untill 6 pm!!! Very very bad service!!! Now we had to go to another point, 45 minutes away, return the car and book a taxi!!!! Again very bad service of this employee!!!! We are a well paying customer, who should be taking care off.
Bei uns hat alles reibungslos geklappt. Ein bisschen Wartezeit morgens um 11 Uhr, aber freundliche Mitarbeiter. Im Netz gebucht, war super günstig. Rückgabe war in unserem Fall in Porto (sogenannte Einwegmiete). Es gab auch im Nachhinein (bislang) keine Probleme und keinen Ärger.
The car we hired was a new one.It was very clean, big and comfortable.The employers at the europcar offices were extremely gentle, organised and provided us with all the necessary information.
Excellent experience. The guys working here were very helpful. The car we were given had tires that were worn. When we pointed that out we were given a new car without any hesitation. Super efficient and friendly service. Would definitely recommend this Europcar location.
I was obliged to take out full insurance through Europcar even though I already had this insurance through Booking. Of course the price was double! The pretext, the card with which the reservation was made was debit, not credit. With that debit card, Visa Gold, I have booked cars several times before, in several countries, but I have never experienced anything like this before.
Dont let them talk you into a hybrid because they dont have the proper cables to charge at some hotels! Ours came with one that only plugged into a regular wall jack so we couldnt charge our car.

La voiture était conforme à notre demande, très propre aussi, avec le plein. Un petit bémol pour la durée d attente de sa prise en charge à l agence de la gare de Lisbonne....environ 1h30... retour à laéroport très facile et rapide. Globalement satisfaits. Nous aurions dû creuser la question de l assurance avant le départ, pour être zen nous avons pris celle qu ils nous ont conseillé, le coût était supérieur à la location....donc faire un point avant.
Wir sind spontan vorbei und hatten das Glück noch ein Auto zu bekommen. Die freundliche Dame hat sich viel Zeit genommen und uns auch gut beraten. Wir konnten mit einem tollen Auto einen schönen Tag außerhalb der Stadt verbinrgen!

Déjà on arrive et l agence est fermée. Ensuite on attend dix minutes de plus et même pas d excuses . Ensuite il nous demandent quand on a réservé comme si nous ne l avions pas fait et avec une grande stupéfaction ils retrouvent la réservation. Une fois la route entamée,un voyant signale que la pression des pneus est faible donc on a dû s arrêter sur une station essence pour s en occuper. Il manquait carrément les deux bouchons sur les pneus arrière.
Good prices, many locations. I got a smaller car that I rented, but staff was very courteous and helpful. The car Peugeot 2008 was brand new, so we were happy with it.

I recently rented a car for three days from Europcar in Lisbon and I must say that my experience was great. I had requested a Renault Captur with an automatic gearbox, and they provided a brand new Citroen C4 with tons of features instead (an awesome car, really enjoyed driving it). I did not purchase any additional insurance from them as I already had rental car insurance on my credit card. The staff did not push me to purchase any additional insurance, which was a relief. They also informed me that a security deposit of 300 EUR would be blocked on my card, which was clearly mentioned on their website. After completing the check-in process at the counter, an employee took me to a parking lot across the street where we did a thorough walk-through of the car. They marked all the existing scratches and dents on the paperwork and I found a few more which were also marked without any fuss. The employee clearly explained all the instructions on how to get out of the parking lot and where to park the car when I returned it. When I returned the car, I went to the counter to inform the staff. They promptly went with me to inspect the car to ensure that no new damage had been done. The whole process was nice and easy, and the staff was friendly and happy to help. Overall, my experience with Europcar was great and I would definitely rent from them again. Their staff was knowledgeable and efficient, and the car was in great condition.
Great experience at the Europecar shop em Lisboa Santa Apolónia! Catarina is great and a problem solver! She found us a renting solution in no time, although being high season and not having made any pre-booking with Europecar in advance. Pick-up and drop-off with John (not sure if I spelled his name correctly sorry if not correct!) were totally hassle-free. Europecar fleets are always well maintained and super clean. Definitely 100% recommended!
I used my Amex when I booked the car. When we arrived to the location they said that they do not have contract with Amex. Still you can find Amex from their accepted credit card list. They said that they take 100 deposit for if we return car with fuel tank empty. Due to the tight schedule we decided to take that option on return. Suddenly the same Europcar person said that there is an extra 24 penalty for that. It is a matter of principle but feels like rip-off. Car (Opel Astra) had driven 60.000 km but it really felt like 160.000 km. Engine warning light was on, for some reason. Stearing was wabble... And now they send a feedback request only in germany!! Europcar never again!

Our car was fine - which we picked up from Faro - but it was incredibly difficult to drop off. No information is provided on where to park the car in what is a busy central area of Lisbon. We also waited in line for 30 minutes before a member of staff said we just needed to bring the car to an outside parking lot. Silly set up that can be easily resolved by providing the relevant information on where to park the car for returns! (incidentally, there were a number of hidden charges, but this doesnt apply to the Santa Apolonia branch)

We rented Mini Cooper cabriolet for a one day. Car was okay, but the worker, who asks rental papers in parking, was very rude and unfriendly. Almost messed our day.

Took more than an hour to return the car, as there is simply no indication on where you have to go. After driving around looking for any type of signal and trying to call their Santa Apolónia office with someone repeatedly picking up but then starting the answer phone, I surrendered and left the car on the side of the road, and entered the station to ask. Turns up the return location is a car park on the port site, not signalled or anything, with two employees (with no Europcar shirt or anything) processing returns. So basically one has to enter the large parking area of the port and just try and identify who takes care of Europcar returns more or less around the Casanova restaurant. In summary - they could have at least sent an email with return indications, or at the very least put some signs telling you where to go. Wasted an hour for this. Rent was otherwise ok.
Overall it was really easy from start to finish. Prices were competitive and the car itself was excellent. In comparison to other rental agencies I have used in the past they were definitely superior. Would rent from them again for sure.
The worst service experience. We stayed in a que for 2 hours for nothing. The stuff don t know anything, the guy was very slow and rude, he was not trying to do his job at all. It s better to pay more in different company for better&professional service.
Long wait time (1-2h) even if you book in advance an check-in all your information in advance - to then be told with a group of 7 other renters that they don t have your car.

When returning to this location (Sept 2023), we had to navigate our GPS across the street to parking lot - Parque Santa Apolónia Telpark by Empark. Pull ticket, then turn right and drive down to find a parking spot, then look for EuropCar person (green shirt). EuropCar office also in train station. The car itself was fine, but the EuropCar checkout at airport (1hr+ wait) and return (-1hr driving around in traffic to get into lot) was not a good experience.

Pas de pression de la part de la commis chez Europcar à l agence Santa-Apolónia à Lisbonne. Cependant, lors de la prise de possession de la voiture, la personne assignée pour vous remettre la voiture vous pousse pratiquement vers la sortie puisqu il doit vous lever la barrière de sécurité. Malgré que l on vous indique quelles coordonnées inscrire dans votre gps (ou cellulaire), j ai eu du mal à trouver l entrée. Mais bon j y suis parvenu avec l aide de ma conjointe/co-pilote. Voilà une autre anecdote à raconter au retour
Very good service. All the members of the staff were friendly, we got a car upgrade and the car was clean and in a very good state. The staff spoke English and a little french so it was easy to communicate. Well use Europcar again.
Super! Wir haben das Auto in Lissabon abgeholt und 10 Tage später in Faro wieder abgegeben. Die Abholung war problemlos (<30min+nettes Personal) und auch die Rückgabe nachts hat perfekt funktioniert. Wir hatten ein Auto ohne Selbstbeteiligung gebucht. Das kann ich nur jedem empfehlen, die paar Euro mehr ersparen viel möglichen Stress. Es wurden uns freundlich Upgrades angeboten, die wir aber abgelehnt haben, da unser Buchungsumfang gut überlegt war.
Went well. Good location. Little line when the store opens, go a bit later. Also check the map when returning on how to enter the parking space from both sides.
Good experience with this Europcar location. Renting in low season I had no wait aside from the normal time to prepare the paperwork. As others have pointed out, you need to visit the office inside the train station first then the pickup and return point for the car is a parking lot across the street next to the cruise terminal. Stress free rental, no funny business. Muito obrigada!

This location was our best rental car experience in a very long time. The two guys who worked there were friendly, quick, and not trying to sell us anything we didnt want. We were in and out within 5 minutes and very impressed with the service we received. It was also the cheaper option compared to the Lisbon airport, so it was a win-win. It seems most of the low reviews are for the difficult to find location which is unfortunate because the actual staff are very good.
It took almost 2 hours to pick up the car. They did not return the deposit. They did not provide any reason why. They are not responding to support emails. Edit: the deposit has been returned. They had wrong email.
We returned our car rental without filling back our gas tank because we were in a hurry to catch our plane. The deposit was 7/8 full. For that 1/8 we were charged with 40 Euros! This is absolutely insane and a complete rip-off. Stop stealing your customers money.
Unfreundlich und unmotiviertes Personal. Müsste eine halbe Stunde warten auf das Auto und die Mitarbeiter sehen alle ausgebeutet und unglücklich aus. Insgesamt will man nicht so lange Zeit da verbringen. Schlechte Kommunikation unter den Kollegen. Die autoübergabe funktionierte nicht so organisiert. Ich empfehle die Firma nicht aber zwischen diese Firma und Enterprise ist das hier einiges besser, da hier zumindest Autos vorhanden sind.
Everything worked just fine for us. Easy and quick with no extra charges. We picked the car up from Santa Apolonia and returned to the Lisbon airport. We had the second highest insurance plan and the transponder for road tolls. Luckily got a brand new Kia. I suggest to reserve the car beforehand
The guys at the pick up location were great. Highlighted all the scratches on the car and gave me an upgrade. Drop off was in Faro. Returned it with full tank, checked the marks and were good to go. Great experience for us.

Bei uns war der Wagen online gebucht und bezahlt worden. Leider war der Kollege der die Fahrzeugübergabe machte null motiviert. An sich hat alles funktioniert, außer die Sache mit der elektronischen Maut. Hat er überhaupt nicht erklärt, nur gefragt ob wir da ein Abo abschließen wollen. Wollen wir natürlich erstmal nicht, wussten aber auch nicht, dass es Strecken mit ausschließlich elektronischer Maut gibt. Ich bin der Meinung, da hätte er nochmal darauf eingehen können, wie die Maut denn dann bezahlt werden kann!! Ist nämlich gar nicht so einfach, insbesondere vom Ausland aus das später zu überweisen.
I returned a car to this location. The actual process of returning the car in terms of admin was straightforward, however finding where to drop off was extremely frustrating. The office is inside the railway station, however there is no obvious place to actually park the car. Eventually we used the carpark across the road by the waterside (the one with barriers), and this was by chance where Europcar expected it to be.

Europcar, Not everyone drops off the car at the same location they picked up! There are no clear instructions as to where to park the car for drop-off, since the office is inside the train station. I called the customer service number and all they could provide was the phone number for the branch, which I tried several times and nobody would answer. Eventually, I parked the car in a private lot and walked into the station to ask. It turns out this was fine by them, but there was no way to know. As some other comments pointed out, the parking area is across the main avenue and you can give the ticket to the Europcar employee when returning.
Got our Car in September 2022. Very friendly and helpful Staff, not a long time to wait. The location is easy to find, the car was nearly new. Very good experience, highly recommended!

Hired a car from here. The staff were helpful and friendly. But, they recommended paying for an upgrade that automates toll roads. We got this, but at the end of the trip, instead of charging us for the tolls we used, they just forwarded the tolls to the fine agency. They claimed to not have been able to have charged my card, but were able to charge me for the rental, and were able to pass all my contact details to the fine agency. They did not contact me. I can only conclude that they didnt even try to charge me for the tolls, or perhaps they left it too late to charge me and accrued a fine. Either way, this left me having to pay a fine onto of the toll, despite having purchased the package that was supposed to prevent this.

Pros : central location, friendly staff Cons : no indication about the check out (see below) and couldnt reach the agency the day we gave back the car due to an electrical power outage. You need to drive to a parking which is the other side of the street of the train station, parking is called Estacionamento Santa Apolonia, get a parking ticket and park your car. Then walk inside the train station and go. To the europcar agency where you can proceed with the check out and give the parking ticket to the staff while checking the car.
rented a car for a week. They put all the maxed options like gps and total insurances, bringing the bill to 500 euro for a week and they had the gal to give me an old fiat full of scratches with a completely outdated gps and the security lock didnt work which made it possible for my toddler to open the back door at the highway. Despicable service, they take as much money as they can and dont even provide a good service.
Usual Europcar tricks at the return of the car. Car returned on time, but in the statement of return time is set 3 hours later - meaning additional day of rental is charged. Complaint submitted, but do not expect any positive solution. Guys watch the details - day/time of return when dealing with this office!

We called to ask wether the company could rent us a baby seat. We had the rudest person over the phone who would tell us that he did not need to have baby seats just because we needed it.

After experiencing some difficulties trying to rent a car in Lissabon, I stumbled upon this Europecar in Santa Apolonia. From beginning to start the employee behind the desk was friendly & professional. He did his very best to come up with good solutions, a real problem solver. In the end of it all, I was able to rent a car because of his help. And that enabled me to enjoy the beautiful country of Portugal through a road trip. Une honte ! Ils proposent des prix vraiment attractifs, semblent très professionnels... Mais si vous refusez de prendre lassurance en plus (ce qui double le prix de la location ! ) , veillez à relever scrupuleusement la moindre égratignure sur la voiture, même sur les enjoliveurs ! Cest là dessus quils nous ont eu, alors que nous navons rien touché, ils nous facturent 3 fois le prix de la location en plus pour une rayure imaginaire ! A éviter à tout prix... A moins davoir de largent à se faire voler...
Immense déception. Méfiez vous du faible prix affiché. Si vous refusez de souscrire une assurance doublant le tarif de location à la journée, vous risquez des frais additionnels (contestation de létat du véhicule et frais administratifs associés). Une approche commerciale contestable quand le véhicule nous a été confié avec plus de 3/4 dheures de retard. Surprenant quune agence de ce type puisse être autorisée à conserver lenseigne dEuropcar. Un audit interne serait certainement très instructif pour le réseau...

We returned our rental car here, as it was right around the corner from where we were staying, even though officially we should have gone to the Gare do Oriente office. The staff were very helpful, especially the car receving guy. Their car storage is in the secure park across Av Infante Dom Henrique from the station. Very convenient and secure.

Bref europcar au top et kilométrage illimité que ne propose pas les autres concurrents même en France.

Das Personal im Büro versuchte gleich mal mein im Voraus gebuchtes Auto als eine Doppelbuchung darzustellen um ein Storno bei meinem Reiseveranstalter zu erwirken. Als das nicht funktioniert hat stellte man die Preise für Diesel und Benzin falsch dar, um meinen Benziner Kleinwagen in einen Diesel Mittelklassewagen für nur 15 EUR pro Tag zu wechseln. Da ich dies auch nicht wollte reagierte der nette Angestellte mit einer Gratulation zu meiner weisen Entscheidung und strafte mich im weiteren Verlauf mit noch mehr Unfreundlichkeit. Daraufhin bat ich ihn doch bitte mal seine freundliche Einstellung dem Kunden gegenüber zu überdenken. Nun kamen wir zügig zur Abwicklung meines bestellten Fahrzeuges. Solche Methoden bei einem renomieirten Anbieter wie Europcar... Das gibt mir zu denken.

Malgré une réservation de véhicule plusieurs jours à lavance 1 seule personne à laccueil pour une attente dune heure inadmissible pour une ville comme Lisbonne . Laccueil est plutôt froid.
A tip for anyone returning your car to this spot: dont bother try to find Europcar car park, because you wont find one. Just park the car some place close to the station, and go inside the station to the information desk ask for the direction to Europcar office. Europcar staff will then lead you to a parking space to complete the car check.
They will not answer the phone !! The website will tell you that you to call, and when call the number nobody answers.

DO NOT USE EUROPCAR. This was by far the worst experience I ve ever had with a car rental agency. We were renting a car at 9am to drive to Lagos. We had a boat tour in Lagos at 2 pm so we went to the Europcar location the day before to make sure everything was all set. We wanted to change the name of the driver and were told this would not be a problem. The next day, we arrived at 9am and were told we could not change the driver and that it would result in a large fee. Then, we were told that we could not get the car until we bought there insurance. I had already told him that my credit card covered rental insurance. He kept refusing to give us the car and was extremely rude. After arguing for half an hour he finally gave us all the paper work for the car. By the time we finally got the car, it was 11am. We had decided to rent a car to save time during our short trip to Lagos but with all the hassle it added almost an hour compared to what the train would ve been. Also, it has been 3 weeks since the car rental and I am still being billed for unknown expenses. My latest bill was for 57 euros. Before that we were billed 23 euros. I had paid in full for the car upfront. They will not respond to questions about these expenses. I will absolutely never use europ car again.
I was afraid with all the problem I read online with rental company trying to rip off everybody. First of all, the place is hard to find. Its located inside the Lisboa Santa Apolonia train station. We waited only 10 minutes. The transaction was smooth, they did try to sell me the full insurance but I declined and I had to sign a waiver. We waited 20 minutes to get our car. While waiting, I took picture and video of the car and I inspected it meticulously. I pointed every scratch or dent and the employe wrote everything on the paper. We dropped the car in Porto and we had no issue! Also, we didnt got charge anything more than the highway tolls we took. So our experience was far more better than the horror story I read online. For that reason, I recommend this company . The price was higher , but I fell it was worth it.

Rented a car to go to Sintra and both Pedro and Silvio could not have been any better. Pedro did the paperwork smoothly and I was out within 10 mins. Silvio checked the car out with me and took his time to note any previous damages. He was patient and friendly the whole time and had a very happy demeanour. Booking the car back in was even easier. Maybe at peak times its busy but for me, it could not have been any better. Very happy!
Europcar Lisboa: Desonestos, querem cobrar coisas já pagas e ainda discutem que estão certos. Me alugaram carro com freio quebrado e sequer foram buscar o carro, me fizeram pegar estrada com carro nessas condições e não me abateram nenhum Euro como compensação. Nunca mais utilizo está empresa

Unorganisiert, chaotisch. Eine Bedienung um 11 Uhr vormittags ging gar nicht. Nach knapp einer Stunde warren wir an der Reihe, aber unser Auto musste noch von einer anderen station hergebracht werden. Wir waren sauer, aber dann kam eine große Entschuldigung und ein kostenfreies Upgrade. Außerdem zwei weitere Bedingungen. So waren wir alles in allem dann doch zufrieren .

We booked online, and when we went to the front desk, the person that greeted us was friendly and helpful. The process was super quick, and in little time we were driving to Algarve. Be sure to have the automatic tollway device in your car, then you pay the tolls automatically through Europcar afterwards. This was a great experience- I highly recommend.

Renting the car wasnt a problem. The staff was nice and helped a lot. Although few days later I experienced that they had charged the money from my account twice. I went down there, but they couldnt help, as the problem must be with the web-page. Fair enough. After contacting them by mail, 3 weeks ago I still havent heard anything. I Still havent got my money or and explanation, despite several attempts to contact the company. COME ON!!!

Atendimento normal dentro do esperado, poderia ter mais pessoas no atendimento pois chegamos ao local e ficamos aguardando por quase 15min só para ser atendido, apesar de já ter feito o check-in antecipadamente não vi muita vantagem. Pelo menos tivemos um upgrade, pois tínhamos alugado um carro de 4 lugares e pequeno e foi nos disponibilizado um com 5 lugares (SW). Até o momento satisfatório.
One star is already too much. We booked a car at 9.00 a.m. and at that time nobody was in the office or answered the phone. Moreover at the door you cant find the opening hours and information about it on the internet are wrong. In the end we got no car at all.

Der Tank unseres Fahrzeuges war zu 3/4 voll als wir es abholten. Bei der Rückgabe brachten wir es mit exakt der selben Füllung retour. Uns wurde ein Zettel ausgehändigt, vor Ort wurde nichts bemängelt. Einen Tag später erhielt ich eine Rechnung als pdf Datei, welcher zu entnehmen war, dass das Fahrzeug auf meine Kosten vollgetankt wurde ( 15,40) und für den Aufwand der Betankung nochmals 15 verrechnet wurden. Anzumerken ist, dass uns, ohne unser Wissen die Premium Versicherung verrechnet wurde, obwohl wir lediglich das Basic Paket wollten. NIE WIEDER!!!!!

Such a big international company with no sense on customer service! Had to waste 1 hour waiting and deposit for car. Did not stay in the end.

Charged in US dollars when the rate was in euros and my card was in euros as well. Couldn t cancel the transaction, had to contact my bank to dispute the transaction.
