We do not rent trucks. We have a fantastic parking lot at our Lisbon Airport. Our Sixt Branch is inside of the Lisbon Airport - in the reserved Rent a Car wing, with easy access for both individual customers and families. To make things even easier for our customers, we have a key Drop Off Box available between 12pm and 06am.
I’ve rented from a lot of companies over the years, and most fall short in one way or another. Sixt, however, stands out for their consistent focus on quality. It shows in their staff, their vehicles, their smooth processes, and their excellent customer service. Every experience I’ve had with them has been easy and stress-free. Highly recommend!
The process of renting a car was easy and convenient. The car was new and clean inside and out, so I was satisfied. I was even more satisfied because I could easily return the car to the desired location. I will be using SIXT rental car again in a few days. I have high expectations. Thank you.
Pre-booked the car 2 weeks before. Was greeted by Miguel, who was very helpful, answered all my questions and gave a few useful tips. Car pick-up very smooth and on time, all as promised. I've waited a week before posting this because I believe emotion-driven reviews are less helpful. Three days after I returned the vehicle, I received an email that damage occurred during the rental. One additional day later, I received pictures of scratches. The vehicle was not damaged when I returned it and I have a clean return receipt. I also have insurance via the credit card I used, but I refuse to make a false claim on it and I will dispute any charge on the card. As I write this, we are still going back and forth on this post-rental damage. I did not make a video when I returned the car, you will want to do that if you rent from Sixt. It feels like the employees are under a lot of pressure to generate extra revenue. Up front, it was the under-30 surcharge for my just-under-30 second driver. At the end, it was a hefty fee for scratches and a refusal to admit that the last renter may not be responsible. I won't rent from Sixt again. If you do, I hope you find a better customer culture than I did.
I recently rented a Renault Austral SUV for a week during my trip to Portugal. I was pleased to find that the vehicle was in excellent condition, clean, and well-maintained. The staff at the Sixt Rent-a-Car airport location demonstrated professionalism and were very courteous throughout the rental process. I opted to decline the insurance offered by Sixt, choosing instead to utilize the coverage provided by my credit card. The staff made it clear that if I returned the vehicle with any damages, my credit card would be charged for the necessary repairs, and I would then need to initiate a claim with my credit card company for reimbursement. Additionally, I was informed that the vehicle needed to be returned with a full gas tank; otherwise, I would incur a charge for fuel at a premium rate. Regrettably, on my final day in Portugal, I was involved in a minor incident where I accidentally struck a tree, resulting in damage to the front part of the car's hood. Upon returning the vehicle, I promptly communicated the situation to the staff. They handled the matter with professionalism, taking photographs of the damage and informing me that an invoice for the repairs would be issued within a week. Upon returning home, I was understandably concerned about the potential costs associated with the vehicle repairs, particularly after encountering numerous unfavorable reviews of Sixt, which depicted the company in a negative light. I was prepared to contest any charges that I deemed unnecessary. However, I was pleasantly surprised when Sixt contacted me via email to provide detailed information regarding all the repair charges prior to processing payment. The email also included instructions on how to request reimbursement from my credit card provider. Although my credit card was charged for the repairs, the comprehensive information supplied by Sixt facilitated a smooth approval process for reimbursement from my credit card insurance. I was highly satisfied with the services provided and the swift resolution of my issue. I intend to utilize their services again in the future and will opt to use my credit card for insurance coverage. Thanks,
1. Know the counter location before your arrive. It is easy to find. You will see a circular glass wall between terminals 1 and 2, and walk into the long building outside south of this for the first stop rental counter, as shown in an attached photo. To get to the car, you walk a litlte further south to the parking garage. 2. Realize they give you a list of prior damage, and you should check over the car, including the wheels, for this stated pre-existing damage. Take photos of all sides of the car, and of the alloy wheels, and tires, and of the roof and hood. 3. I made a reservation here October 2, 2024. The Sixt check-in person was fantastic, talked slowly. He did not have the car I reserved so put me in an upgrade, a beautiful blue Nissan Qashqai, similar to a Rogue, with e-regeneration, for the same price. He did not, though, as I recall, tell me about any pre-existing damage. 4. He was good to sell me on some extra damage insurance for about €5 per day with I think a €2,800 deductible saying it was a $42,000 car. The Via Verde toll pass cost €17 which was fine, and then the charges were billed after the rental, with VAT but no additional charges. 5. The 4 instead of 5 stars is because the person who showed me the car did not go over any damage with me, and I signed something I thought was just that I got the car, but was really that I had reviewed all the prior damage (minor). 6. When I returned, the check-in person noted scratches on a wheel. Someone at customer service emailed me very nicely about that. But I noted seeing the check-out person take photos all around when I got the car, but they could not produce those for me to see if the scratches were there earlier. The customer service person graciously waived the administrative fee and immobilization fee that went with the damage. A lesson learned for me - to not rely on them, but instead to take my own photos before leaving. I was thrilled with the car and overall it was a great experience.
Rental from Sixt Lisbon Airport. Pleasant, courteous and helpful check out crew. The car they provided had a smaller boot than I needed. Then found the gas tank was not full so they replaced it quickly with another vehicle in the same category with more boot space. Everyone we met was friendly. They also reviewed the minor damage with me. A follow up on return. Dealt with very pleasant young man named Vasco. He did a quick check - reported no new damage. Their invoice for the full rental arrived several days later, with all toll charges nicely itemized. Very professional, and how it should be done. Getting to the car rental return in Lisbon is not as smooth as some other airports, but overall it was an excellent process from start to finish. Also Sixt Portugal was always responsive to emails, which is definitely not the case with some other countries.
If you are thinking about renting a car here, consider this facts. they will charge you the damage or wear that you did not even make. As you guys can see other reviews they will scam you like other cheap rental car company. but this is Sixt I always trusted this company. I reached out regarding this issue to SIXT where the owner of this business replies to everyone has same experience. IT WILL NOT BE RESOLVED they said even though I took a video before I picked up it is not evidence. it's a joke. I literally have no reason to lie. my credit card company is really good and will cover the damage but this is just not right and let's be fair. This is really just you can tell immediately they are trying to scam if you have common sense. Since it seems like only toward foreigners it's not just about rental car company reputation but also reputation about your own country Portugal. Because of this experience I will never even consider going there again or if there's anyone want to go, I ll not recommend. Please see the big picture. its maybe beneficial for short term cash flow but not long run. I even got charged bolt that I did not even see. I ve been renting with sixt a lot but never ever experience this scam activity. Lucky my credit card company has collision coverage but this is just not right. tire condition was the condition you MUST replace immediately, car was stinky. I am giving two stars because a guy who helped me out checking in was nice. Maybe it is not this location's issue I returned in Faro airport but keep in mind. if you have an option not rent the car in Portugal, do not rent.

15 minutes dattente avant de comprendre quil faut retirer un ticket à une borne (aucune signalétique ne lindiquant) puis 30 minutes pour enfin être accueilli par un agent. Service long et inefficace. Beaucoup de blabla pour rien. Très mauvaise expérience avec ce loueur !

I love SIXT...but as there was a SIXT return within a block of the Holiday Inn where I was staying in Lisbon, retuning the car there was far more convenient for me and the return was spontaneous. I was charged 20 euros for not taking it to the airport and I never got a receipt - only confirmation that I had returned the car. I was tole on pick up that I had a 40 euro credit as my flight was a late arrival. I returned the care several hours before the stated return date, but did not get credit for that. I have no surity that I received the 40 euro credit and as the gasoline was not at empty - I dont know what the charges were for gas? Please send me a full receipt as I am sharing expenses with a friend and need to charge her the proper 1/2 of the bill. Many thanks, Susan (Van Etten) Lawson

Decepción Total, lo barato sale caro. Para mi es la peor compañía de alquiler que he tenido, tanto en atención, condiciones y post entregas de vehículos alquilados. Por motivos laborales he estado trabajando en Lisboa, he alquilado cuatro coches, en la estancia más corta por 14 días, en todos absolutamente todos hemos tenido conflictos. Enumero algunos de ellos porque la lista es grandísima: - El seguro a todo riesgo excluye cristales y llantas. - Si no tienen el coche asignado, no te dan en su lugar uno del segmento superior tal cual dice la ley. - Te llegan peajes, días posteriores a las entregas del vehículo. - La facturas finales, no son enviadas en un plazo inferior a una semana post entrega y con posibilidad de mandarte una factura superior pasadas tres semanas. - En caso de avería del vehículo, no te entregan en sustitución otro vehículo en ese mmento a menos que entres en una discusión en mostrador exigiendo tus derechos. - En caso de querer nombrar algún conductor más o activar el suplemento de salida del país ha de hacerse obligatoriamente en la oficina del aeropuerto. Existen más conflictos generados, pero no quiero hacer de esto una novela, pero aconsejo que hagáis mil fotos antes y después de la entrega, y que guardéis todo con lupa, porque ante cualquier problema, casi siempre te dicen que es política de empresa y que dirijamos nuestras incidencias a atención al cliente. Es cierto que en precio, es lo más barato, pero os garantizo que a veces es preferible pagar algo más y tener la certeza de que ante cualquier problema la atención es inmediata, y con esta compañía os aseguro que la intranquilidad es permanente.

NÃO RECOMENDO a Sixt, que é muito desorganizada, entregam veículos errados e cobram valores indevidos. Péssima experiência em locação ou aluguer. O que é dito no balcão de atendimento não é cumprido na cobrança dos valores pré pagos no cartão de crédito como garantia. A viatura que me entregaram não correspondia com a placa de licença do contrato de aluguer. Cobram o tanque de combustível com valor de aprox 100 euros, sendo que devolvi o veículo com tanque quase cheio. Lamentável o serviço da SIXT NEVER MORE

Quero me desculpar com a Sixt Lisboa porque havia feito uma avaliação negativa no Rental Car deles por conta de uma cobrança pelo combustível pré pago indevida. Porém quando enviei um e-mail informando tudo, eles prontamente resolveram para mim e me estornaram o valor. O carro que aluguei era excelente, novo, estava limpo, sem problemas, foi uma Captur. A retirada e devolução, sem palavras, super rápida e os funcionários foram sempre educados e solicitos. Recomendo fortemente a Sixt, já havia alugado em Orlando e ainda mais agora depois de todo esse profissionalismo e entrega. Obrigado!
Achtung: Nie wieder, sehr schlechte Erfahrung. Das Unternehmen Jabrac ren-a-car hat uns Reparaturkosten eines Schaden i.H.v. 600 Euro in Rechnung gestellt, den wir nicht verursacht haben. Schnell wurde uns mit einem Inkassobüro gedroht. Scheinbar eine gängige Masche.. Aufgrund fehlender Beweise und Androhung anwaltlichen Konsequenzen wurden wir endlich in Ruhe gelassen. Wichtig zu wissen ist, Sixt Lissabon ist ein Subunternehmen und gehört aber Jabrac ren-a-car. Leider wird der gute Ruf von Sixt genutzt. Zahlreiche negative Bewertungen über das Unternehmen sowie deren Inkassobüro sagen alles!

Prenotato dal sito booking una Ford Puma per 12-13 giorni al prezzo di 650 circa con assicurazione Kasko. Il giorno che sono andato con alcuni amici per ritirare lauto ci è stato detto al desk che il modello di auto in questione non era disponibile. Oltre a ciò Sixt voleva farci pagare degli extra dato che a loro non risultava lassicurazione Kasko nel noleggio auto. Come auto sostitutiva ci è stata data una Mercedes A200 con la quale ci siamo trovati abbastanza bene anche se abbiamo dovuto modificare degli itinerari di viaggio sia per i consumi diversi tra le due sia per la differenza di altezza del paraurti da terra. Abbiamo restituito lauto come ci è stata lasciata (senza graffi e con carburante pieno). 2,5/5.

the reserved car was of a lower level than the one reserved. I returned the car at 5:14 p.m. instead of 5 p.m. and Sixt charged me 106 euros on my card without any explanation!! Without any explanation from them, I could not recommend this car rental company.

We got a good car. the wait was a long at the airport because of what seemed to be laziness or incompetence. The worst part was they lied to us. we reserved a car from North America, and denied the insurance because we have insurance from our Credit card. They did not accept that, and said their system says we accepted the insurance. they basically forced us to pay for insurance which doubled our cost of renting. If we knew the real price, we would not have rented a car in Portugal. no need to drive since there are trains and busses and hard to drive anyway because of small roads and construction.

Kann ich nur empfehlen. Unkomplizierte Mietreservation und Abrechnung schon nach drei Tagen per Email bekommen. Das Auto war schon bereit am Flughafen Lissabon. Genau meine Vorstellungen entsprechend. Ebenfalls die Rückgabe funktionierte professionell, so dass ich nach 5 Minuten schon im Flughafen war.

Normal rental service, the car was practically new, although of a different brand than what I ordered in the app. Advice for those who want to use this rental service - buy insurance on the spot and pay extra for an incomplete tank of fuel and you will not have any problems at all when returning the car. Also, immediately clarify where the return is made, because the entry is from the other side.

SCAMMERS!!!! I had an extremely frustrating experience with this company. When I went to pick up my car, the staff insisted that I present my physical passport, even though I had my UK ID card with me. It wasn t even mentioned in the reservation email that I need to show my passport physically. Retrieving my passport from my hotel would have taken hours, so I asked if I could cancel the reservation and get a refund. The staff assured me I would be refunded, and they even consulted a manager/senior staff member who confirmed this. Based on their assurances, I agreed to cancel the reservation. However, when I followed up with customer service, I was told I wouldn t be getting a refund. This completely contradicts what I was told at the location. It feels like I was misled, and now I m left out of pocket for something that wasn t my fault. This is absolutely unacceptable, and I wouldn t recommend this company to anyone. Their lack of transparency and poor customer service has left a very bad impression.

Its OK to find and use although returning the car is stressful - bad access road into airport then watch very carefully for the return hire car signs - miss them and there is no easy route back. Our hire was a van/people carrier and it was extremely tight in the parking garage. The van/carrier had only 13k km on the clock, so quite new but was battered - it had 11 dents/scratches listed, some serious. so OK but not great experience.

We rented a car in November for a week. When we checked in, we were told we could return the car with the tank at whatever level we wanted and would only be charged market rate to fill it back up. We were not told it would be a flat rate that almost doubled our rental rate, which was prepaid. When we were handed the iPad to sign the agreement, it was zoomed in to only show us the hold that would be put on our CC, but never the full breakdown of the additional charges. We only received this by email after we had signed-thus, Sixt says we signed it knowingly. We were also told we could use the fast lane on the tolls and pay after. We paid almost 80 additional euros in tolls, taking the highway only twice. I don t think this was correct. The car we received did barely fit the people and luggage it said it would. It was in good condition and drove fine, though. We were never given the option to check the car over, but were handed an iPad again zoomed in by someone who didn t say anything to us about what we were signing that later showed we signed what the damages on the car were before we received it. Luckily they were minor but again, we didnt really get this explained-just an iPad zoomed in to the signature page shoved over. I have contacted sixt during my rental and after-they were dismissive and unhelpful, saying that we signed the agreement and that it was not their fault. Fraudulent practices of their agents is absolutely their fault. We have rented from sixt many times in various locations-we will never rent from Sixt Portugal ever again and will tell anyone we know to avoid.
Pedro Silva at Sixt Lisbon did not do his job properly. He initially tried to blame me for his own errors. He is not professional and has ruined my trip. I made a booking request on the 23rd of December for c. 800. Sixt replied that day and sent an email offering something else for double the price. I replied asking for an alternative because of the price. I received no reply. I followed up on the 27th and they again didn t reply. I called sixt, and they said that it was my fault because I didn t accept their offer. This is just not true, I queried the offer and no one replied. No one replied to my second email either. By the time I called and spoke to someone, they tried to make it out like it was my fault. They neglected their emails and didn t do what they were supposed to do. I have no car for my trip now and the only others cost thousands now because of how late it is. Again. Pedro Silva at Sixt Lisbon airport tried to act like a mistake he made was my fault. Horrific customer service and I will never use them again.
É a pior da Europa! Eu viajo constantemente pela Europa e normalmente quando chego a um país uso a Sixt, mas a Sixt, mais concretamente a Sixt Portugal, por favor, as pessoas que estão a ler e a pensar se é boa ideia alugar um carro aqui... PF não se metam em problemas, escolham outra empresa, qualquer uma tenho a certeza que é mais honesta, a primeira vez devolveram me a caução quase 3 meses depois, agora da 2x viram que não tinha feito seguro e milagrosamente descobriram um defeito no parabrisas... Por isso é que as concorrentes estavam com uma fila enorme para alugar carro e a Sixt não tinha ninguém.. Ainda queriam 900 e tal euros, mas quem lhes fez as orelhas que vos dêem.. Não fazem ideia aos anos que uso está aplicação e exclusivamente só em Portugal é que curiosamente está empresa é uma ladrões e oportunistas.. Mas pronto, a SIXT PORTUGAL, ABSOLUTAMENTE NUNCA MAIS!

Check in assez long mais check out rapide, comptoir et parking faciles à trouver proches du terminal. Trés bonnes voitures, jai été surclassé avec une DS4 toute neuve + badge télépéage. Par contre assistance téléphonique aux abonnés absents, je me suis retrouvé avec une erreur clé non détectée impossible de démarrer alors que javais la clé dans la main. Lassistance ne répond pas, le répondeur vous invite à laisser votre numéro afin dêtre rappelé, jattends toujours... Heureusement la voiture a fini par redémarrer aprés de longues minutes qui mont paru des heures, surtout le soir dans le noir. Pour info il faut essayer de placer la clé sous le volant ou un peu partout dans le vide poche et ça finit par la détecter avec un peu de chance.
Zunächst sollte die Wartezeit eine halbe Stunde. Dann war das vorab reservierte und bestätigte Auto nicht vorhanden. Es sollte von einer anderen Station geholt werden, was eine weitere halbe Stunde dauern sollte. Wir entscheiden uns dann für einen anderen, kleineren Wagen. Als wir dann den Schlüssel in Empfang nehmen sollten, dauerte es wieder eine viertel Stunde. Alle sind sehr busy und entschuldigen sich, aber das nützt nix, weil es ineffizient ist. In Lissabon, nicht bei Sixt mieten!!

Abholung des Fahrzeuges, alles super. Rückgabe war eine Katastrophe am Flughafen von Lissabon. Wir müssten das Fahrzeug auf der Zufahrt zur Parkgarage stehen lassen, da die Schlange sehr, sehr lange war und es keinen Millimeter nach vorne ging. Wir und viele andere, auch andere Mietgesellschafter haben die Autos einfach stehen gelassen und den Schlüssel im Sixt Büro abgegeben. Keine Hilfe vom Personal. Personal war völlig überfordert.
Como sempre, muito bem atendido. Com eficiência e rapidez. Estava muito cansado no momento, mas o Sr Miguel da Sixt no aeroporto em Lisboa fez a minha experiência ser Smooth. Foi extremamente educado, pois assim São os staff da Sixt. Foi super atencioso, e cordial. No momento tentou fazer um upgrade, porém pela falta de opções e por conta do horário, o upgrade nao foi possivel. Porém nada a reclamar do renaut clio em que aluguei. Viatura nova limpa e cheirosa. Perfeito. Levantamento da viatura também ocorreu de maneira bem tranquila. Obrigado mais uma vez Sixt
Friendly and fast car rental
Careful!! I confirm the other reviews regarding the fake damage charges. I returned the car on Sunday Nov 3rd after 2 days of rental. The car was in the exact same condition as when we picked it, and their onsite staff said we were all good to go upon the return on the car. 2 days later, they email me and claim that we made new damage to the car! Even before that claim, they didnt deduct the correct rental amount from my deposit, they took over 123 instead of the 68 as stated in the contract, and said it was a technical error... They also falsely claimed in the contract that the fuel was full upon pick up, but it was only 6/8, they would also have overcharged me if I hadnt told them immediately after leaving the rental car park!
Very professional rental, amazing service. Marco gave me very clear instructions and was very helpful the whole time. I was able to enjoy my rental and everything went like i expected. Thanks to the company and Marco i will be using them only from now on.
Absolute disaster-Save to say, just go with the cheapest car hire as they are all the same. We paid more for what we thought was a reputable international business but it was just run by kids who have no idea what they are doing. We got a flat tire in Comporta and rather than change it roadside, they sent a tow truck to collect the car (which was 3 hours late) and we had to get a taxi to Lisbon (90 mins away). When we got there, the people had no idea of our issue and didn t help. I was then charged over £500 for this. Save to say, just go with the cheapest car hire as they are all the same.

I was skeptical reading over the overwhelmingly negative reviews of SIXT , but better believe it.Booked a car rental through Expedia. When I left my hotel and commuted 35 min to pick up my rental, they told me I couldn t pick it up without two forms of ID. The rental agent female insisted that I go back to my hotel and bring my passport otherwise they wouldn t be able to give me the car. I stated to them after looking over my rental agreement it does not state that 2 forms of identification are necessary , the agent insisted otherwise. She began to read over the policy and proved to me I was correct. She was rude and malicious. I asked her to cancel and she said no. She said that I had to go online to do it myself and refused to help. She is such a miserable person. Ended up rented with AVIS who require one form of ID and better rates. Anyone renting from SIXT, save yourself the hassle.
This is the second time I have rented from Sixt in Portugal. On both occasions, they overcharged for fuel. Both times the customer service agents misinformed me about the policies, and both times when I made a complaint, I was told that I should have read the agreement upon renting the car. NO ONE has time to read the fine print at a checkout counter, and we rely on the customer service agents to distill the information to us in an honest and reputable way. This was not the case on either occasion. Very deceptive company policies and representatives, I will never rent from Sixt again.
I hired a really nice car and I met some really nice people who work for Sixt at Lisbon airport. Unfortunately all of that good experience was ruined by the Sixt desk operative who told me that there was no need to fill the car up with petrol when I returned it because Sixt would do that for exactly the same cost as the petrol station outside the airport. This was completely incorrect information and Sixt charged me 110 instead of 30 for the petrol that I had used when I returned the car. That took away all the good feelings that I had after my family holiday. So I got in touch with Sixt customer service to explain what had happened and to request that they give back the money they had taken from my credit card, and a very nice Sixt person basically told me that I should have read the small print. I have learned from this experience, and of course I had to pay 80 for this training provided by Sixt, so I will certainly not consider renting a car from Sixt in the future.
Extremely unpleasant time wasting experience for a prepaid reservation from website. Had to waste a whole important day to get the payment back because the local branch didnt like the way our credit card looked (turned out that local branch does not have to follow their own rules written on their website) and they had to cancel the reservation only for this reason. We used same card with another company in front and they had no issue, Infact we got even better deal than a month old prepaid reservation.

Fuyez Sixt! Ce sont des voleurs! Vehicule loué du 3 au 10 octobre 24 à Lisbonne. Ils mont facturé 75 euros de carburant alors que le plein était à 11 traits sur 12. Leur seule réponse étant que le réservoir nétait pas plein jusquen haut. Je veut bien payer le peu quil manquait mais là cest de larnaque pure et simple. Au final tout confondu, le prix de location est doublé. Quelle affaire! Javais déjà loué chez eux il y a 3 ans et là aussi, ils avaient trouvé une micro rayure sur une jante en toc, facture de 150 ! Je pense quils sont spécialistesden la matière. Lorsque lon voit le temps passé à tourner autour de la voiture au retour....cest bien plus rapide à la prise du véhicule... Ils ont perdu une cliente. Bsp ne fait rien pour défendre ses clients, eux aussi bye, bye.

Absolut unseriös. Uns wurde ein Schaden nach Tagen untergeschoben. Außerdem war das Auto nicht vollgetankt, als wir es abgeholt haben. Wir haben sie darauf aufmerksam gemacht und uns wurde gesagt, dass wir das Auto mit dem gleichen Tankstand wieder zurückgeben können. Wir mussten dann aber trotzdem eine Gebühr bezahlen. Hier werden alle Maschen gezogen, um Kunden abzuzocken.

They take advantage of the tiredness of customers who have just arrived from the airport and do not provide complete information, especially about the additional insurance charges. They delivered the car to me in terrible condition. When I returned the car, they charged me for almost a full tank of fuel, even though it was almost 3/4 full. Never again SIXT!
ATTENTION AUX ARNAQUES . Nous devions récupérer à 23h30, deux véhicules que javais réservé en ligne pour à peine 350 . Jai appelé lagence pour les prévenir que lavion aurait du retard. On ma répondu de ne pas minquiéter, que je pouvais récupérer ma réservation jusquà 1h. Nous sommes arrivés un peu avant la fermeture et avons pris possession des 2 véhicules. Ma grande surprise le lendemain en me connectant sur mon compte Sixt ??? On mavait facturé 80 parce que nous étions arrivés hors des horaires douverture de lagence et ajouté des garanties que je navais pas demandé. Résultat , une facture de presque 900 au lieu de 350 à lorigine.
We ve rented cars from Sixt at LIS (probably 5-10 times in the past year) and never had any issues until our most recent rental where the car broke down in the middle of the highway. Cars break down - that part we appreciate and sympathise with, but Sixt now charging us fuel surcharges for the car being returned with not 100% fuel is absurd. We would have loved to drive to the airport and on-time with our rental car as paid and drop it off fully refuelled but that s hardly possible when the car breaks down in the middle of a highway (at no fault of our own). Here the exact wording from Sixt to our complaint for the £105 charge for a car that btw had 80%+ of fuel filled as it was only used for one trip from airport to Cascais and a couple local trips ( the value of the fuel used until the vehicle breaks down is always charged to the customer ). If we had been charged £10-20 fine - not OK, but fine. £105 for a tiny car that does not even take that much fuel is unreal. Very deceptive.
Une éperience désagréable du début à la fin! Le seul point positif est la rapidité de la prise en charge à laéroport, mais... : Au moment de reserver, je fais une demande par mail a SIxt en expliquant que Booking.com me propose une reservation a 800 avec Sixt mais que jaime travailler en direct et leur demande donc un devis..... 1400 !! Evidemment je reserve donc via Booking. Ensuite arrivés sur place, je recupère notre véhicule. Au premier freinage sur lautoroute, la voiture tremble de partout! (Classe V Mercedes avec 100 000kms, et qui affiche un entretien dépassé a chaque démarrage). Je téléphone et demande un autre véhicule, demi-tour et cest parti pour 200 kms Aller/Retour puisque nous étions localisés à Nazaré. Le nouveau véhicule est beaucoup plus récent (même modèle), mais au bout de 2 jours, la porte latérale éléctrique ne se ferme plus! Impossible même en fermeture manuelle, ce sont des soucis qui peuvent arriver, Sixt ny est pour rien. Je téléphone à nouveau à lassistance, 4h00 plus tard une dépanneuse vient récuperer le véhicule, et on me téléphone pour me dire quil cherchent une solution car ils ne possèdent plus de véhicule en stock de même catégorie, nous sommes donc coincés sans véhicule depuis 10h00 du matin. A 18h00 on me rappelle pour nous dire quils ont trouvé un véhicule mais de catégorie infèrieure (Mercedes Vito) et que nous devons aller le récuperer par nos propres moyens (Prenez un Uber ce sera rapide et attention lagence ou nous devons recuperer la nouvelle voiture ferme a 19h00) car ils narrivent pas à trouver de taxi disponible!! Le carburant des 2 véhicules rendus nous a bien entendu été facturé ainsi que les frais de Refuelling. Nous avons donc perdu pratiquement 2 jours sur un voyage de 6 jours, jai effectué une reclamation par mail il y a maintenant 10 jours et je nai jamais reçu de réponse!!!
Sehr enttäuschendes Erlebnis bei der Mietwagenbuchung über ADAC und SIXT. Aufgrund einer Flugverspätung und einer defekten Kreditkarte vom Hauptfahrer (nur für die 300 Kaution, die vollständig Buchung war bereits bezahlt) konnten wir das gebuchte Auto nicht abholen (die Kreditkarte von der Ehefrau / Zweitfahrer wurde nicht akzeptiert). Trotz intensiver Bemühungen und Unterstützung durch den ADAC wurde keine Lösung mit SIXT gefunden. Wir mussten eine neue Buchung vornehmen und tragen nun doppelte Kosten von knapp 4000 . Diese Situation (+3 Stunden am Schalter) war extrem stressig für uns und unsere drei Kinder. Wir hoffen auf eine Kulanzregelung und eine Erstattung der ersten Buchung via ADAC Mietwagen. Leider eine sehr frustrierende Erfahrung mit SIXT, obwohl uns ADAC sofort via Mail eine Fahrerautorisierung zugeschickt hat. Wurde nicht akzeptiert. Wir werden rechtliche Schritte einleiten müssen falls die erste Buchung nicht erstattet wird.

Bom dia, essa empresa pratica desonestidade com seus clientes, altera data de devolução dos veículos, altera valores sem explicação e tem um péssimo pós venda. Para quem for a Lisboa/Portugal todo cuidado é pouco, experiência bem ruim e até agora sem resolução. Recomendo que não utilizem os serviços dessa empresa em nenhum local do mundo, especialmente em Portugal.

Zero stars. Rented a full size SUV BMW X1 or similar well in advance and for 11am pickup and was handed a Nissan and waited over an hour for the car to finish getting washed . DO NOT BOOK WITH SIXT If you want a luxury suv because they will give you whatever they have and not refund you the difference. Will never book with SIXT again and will make sure I let everyone know to not book with them as well as customer service did nothing to try and fix the situation.
Awful experience, I highly recommend that you don t book with Sixt. Booked a luxury full size SUV and was given a Nissan. On top of not giving us the correct car they also made us wait way too long so that the car could finish getting washed. Nissan most likely built the car faster than they washed it. After waiting almost an hour for the car when we get in the car the passenger seatbelt didn t work so we had to wait again. Just know that if you plan on booking with the intention of a specific level of car, you will be given whatever they want to give you. The guy at the desk was rude and did nothing to justify the situation.

Terrible service, we paid the car from 17:30, it was only ready at 18:30. We also got a worse car than we paid for. Actually each time we book with sixt there is something, I hope it would be different this time but no. They also rejected to give us another car which is ready so we just had to wait for an hour we paid for to drive.

Has a much better experience here than other countries(Warsaw Poland). Pickup: Very easy access from the terminal to the kiosk with all our luggage and trolley. Car was ready at the venue. Drop off also in the same building and has a big elevator. Agent: Pleasant guy but tried to mislead us saying it is cheaper to buy fuel for them. But then says its a flat fee regardless if you have lots of fuel left in your tank. Also, damage coverage for the car was a ridiculous 3500EUR (they block EUR500 on the card). This kept me worried the whole trip. He constantly kept scaring us how just yesterday some guy wrecked his car and paid the whole amount. Car: 2024 Mercedes C class wagon. Very nice car. However i was surprised to see a new car with so many scratches all over the body. I was worried they will put the blame on me. So i spent 30 minutes photographing the car for scratches. I found about 20+ but thankfully none were blamed on me in the end. Inside was clean but outside was very dusty, easily visible because the car was black. Price: Got a good deal for the dates i booked on the app with flexible cancelation. I canceled and booked again for much cheaper a few days later when the price dropped further. Drop off: Very quick check and release. Friendly people. The drop off parking is very narrow with lots of bends and dark. Lots of scratches on the walls. Drive very slow and cautiously unless you want to get into trouble at the very end of your trip. Would book with them again!

I have rented with Sixt numerous times Wordwide with great experiences. My experience with Sixt Portugal was unlike previous times. I am a car and tire dealer. I arrived to be offered a car that had bald front tires in the middle of a driving rainstorm. I asked that the car be replaced with a car with safe tires. After trying to convince me I was wrong, Sixt Faro offered up another car that was safe. Upon the completion of my trip, Sixt Portugal billed me for more than the reservation amount, despite me returning the car undamaged and full of fuel. To further compound things, they did not respond to numerous emails pointing out the billing error and Im now having to get in contact with Sixt Corporate head office in Germany. Apparently the Sixt Portugal franchise does not operate on the same business conduct standards as the Sixt Corporate group. Very disappointing!
