I know Sixt is a large car rental company, but this store is too outrageous. I advise everyone to avoid it! Below is my experience. (1) When we picked up the car, they never asked us if we needed roadside assistance service or not. They just added it into the contract (we only found out when we were charged after returning the car). (2) When we picked up the car, they asked us if we needed an extra tank of petrol or not. We replied that we would return the car with a full tank of petrol. In the end, after we returned the car with a full tank of petrol, they charged us an extra tank of petrol (much more expensive than the market price)!!! After I been charged for additional a tank of petrol, I contacted the car rental platform to negotiate with this store. As a result, the store did not respond to the petrol surcharge situation for nearly 2 months! (3) When we picked up the car, I provided my email address, but there was no email communication during the entire process (the store should send the rental contract, vehicle condition report, charge details, etc. to my email address). It's the worst experience I've ever had for renting a car!

We have been waiting more than 60 min to pick up our pre-reserved car. We rented the car as we had an appointment at 11. We got the car at 11, we missed our appointment although we were here 10 min before 11. There was a crazily long queue. Although people at the counter did they best to attend customers, the place is just very badly organized and understaffed. All my appreciation for people who work there. I do not recommend using this car rental company

This was the worst car rental experience I’ve had in all of Europe. Most of the negative reviews are justified, but I thought it couldn’t happen to me. I rented a Dacia Sandero (AV-33-QE) in Lisbon, with drop-off in Porto. At pick-up, the Sixt agent told me I needed to pay a €1,500 deposit instead of the €300 stated in the confirmation email and on their website (for a basic fare). This is nothing but a lie; €1,500 is actually the amount for damages not covered by their basic insurance. Customer service confirmed the next day that the deposit should indeed have been €300. Given the lies and the shady nature of the agency, I decided at the last minute to pay double and add full insurance. The car was handed over with existing damage, but none of it was mentioned in the report provided by Sixt at pick-up. Since I was in a hurry and there was a long queue of waiting customers, I didn’t address the missing damage report on the spot but instead documented all damages with photos and videos. At drop-off in Porto, I was unpleasantly surprised to find all the damages on the car attributed to me, despite showing the agent photos taken right outside the Sixt Lisbon office. The insurance likely saved me from an additional charge. In short, this agency is to be avoided. They are not trustworthy, operate as a Sixt franchise, and the experience is even worse than with Sixt Italy (also a franchise) and far below the standard of Sixt Spain or Germany (where you rent directly from Sixt). - they lie about the deposit. - they charge customers for damages they did not cause. PS: No AI-generated reply is needed for this review, Sixt.

SCAM. Please, be aware that they can charge you with random payments. I was charged with extra 20€ by “technical error” for returning the car in different location. I was lucky that another location was closed in fact when I was returning a car. Also, I requested the breakdown of charges, but it’s impossible to understand the calculation)) so just be aware, they you would pay more than agreed. Btw, I bought the full insurance and still was scammed. The car was good, no issues.

Very convenient to get to from the city centre. There are 2 metro options to get there. I had a great experience renting 24 hrs before. Rented a compact with 2 child seats, the entire process was seamless. Once I got there, Julia provided me with excellent service, the car was as expected. Overall I had a fantastic experience renting from this location, will definitely do it again.

I was a bit hesitant to rent from here given some of the bad reviews, but I can only say that for us personally everything went very smoothly. We’ve rented the car for 4 days. There was a bit of a wait time to get the car - We rented it for 11AM and were ready to go at 11.15AM, so really no issue! The woman at the counter (Ms. Silva) was very nice and helpful! They gave us a free car upgrade and we got a new Ford Focus which was great. We added my boyfriend as a second driver and got full insurance. I can recommend renting the e-toll device as it works super smoothly. On the last day we wanted to delay the return by two hours. I called a few hours before and they changed it for us immediately without any extra charge as it still fell under the 24h limit 🙏🏻 The return was super simple given that we had full insurance. We returned it in the same place. I got my deposit money (300€) back right after 👍

Went there without a reservation, talked to Ariana who was friendly and helpful and offered us a car ready in about an hour (which i think is okay without a reservation). Gave us a nice tip for a café where we could spent some time while we weit for the car and offered to give us a call when the car would be ready. The Café was excellent, we did get the call (took about an hour, pretty good guess ;) ) and went to pick up the Car. The pick up was easy, uncomplicated, everything was explained nothing to complain. To our surprise it was a brand new car never rented before, so of course it was in perfect condition, freshly cleaned of course no damage. I guess its a bit more expensive to rent a car here than if you look online for rental cars, but there are no hidden costs, everything is explained, you get insurance (which we didnt need, so cant say much about that, but you never know, better to have it than to need it and dont have it). Return of the car was also pretty easy and uncomplicated, a quick check by the guys for any damage, car condition in general, fuel level and so on, took about 5 minutes i would say. So all in all a very good experience, nothing to complain, would recommend it to anyone looking for a rental in Lisabon ;)

If you have a few hours to spare, then I highly recommend them. The cars were nice and the agent was friendly. However, if after flying all night, and you don t want to wait 3 hours with hundreds of other cranky, tired tourists to get your car, I d go with any other rental company than Sixt. Reservei o carro on-line especificamente pela cor , quando cheguei ao stand pedi que o carro fosse escuro , não me interessava a marca nem o tipo mas sim de cor escura , quando vem me entregar o carro traz em um branco que para alem de ser o completo oposto do que pedi , ainda vinha riscado. Sempre reservei na Syxt de alfragide e isto nunca me aconteceu. Ainda queriam que eu alterasse para outro mais carro e paga se a diferença. Serviço bastante demorado , detestei a experiência e foi uma perca de tempo. Não tentaram resolver a minha situação e ainda tenho esperar 10 dias para me ser devolvido o valor total da reserva de vinte dias quase.

Probably one of the worst car rental experiences I have ever had. First, the initial car they gave me needed to be serviced, so as soon as I pulled out of the driveway I had to exchange out the car. Then, the second car they gave me had a known crack in the windshield, which the company deemed safe to drive, so we continued with this car. Overnight the crack became significantly larger, which prompted our return to the shop. We ended up returning the car 22 hours earlier than our expected return time, and the company did not offer any compensation for their terrible service. Instead, the lady at the counter said we can change the car, and you can drive it somewhere local since you have until 10am tomorrow. Cheap cars = cheap service, I should have known better. Only positive feedback I can give is that the other lady who was helping with pick up and the two guys that checked out the damage cars were very helpful and empathetic to our situation. However, will not be renting with sixt ever again.

Attention : menteurs et malhonnêtes! Jai réservé une voiture avec assurance. Une fois surplace, ils mexpliquent que, comme ils sont en centre-ville, il ny a pas besoin de faire le plein et que seront déduis sur la facture uniquement le prix au litre de la station la plus proche. Je rends la voiture le soir à 7/8 du réservoir en les remerciant de ne pas avoir à faire le plein : aucun commentaire. Surprise sur la facture reçue une semaine plus tard : 50 de frais pour lessence, et la facture est douteuse car je paye lIVA deux fois. Résultats, pour 53 prévus, plus de 120 débités ! Ils ne répondent pas au mail et le groupe Sixt refuse de prendre le sujet. Ny allez pas !

I rent a car for the day and agreed to bring it back full. I refilled the nearest possible gas station according to Google Maps. I returned the car and no mention that they don t consider it full until I received a horrendous gas & service fee. This is a total rip off. Good customer service would mention it and allow the customer to do something about it. I honestly hate such practice. I even believe they cheated me, because I totally filled it as near as I could. Lisbon is totally traffic jammed, so maybe being stuck in traffic on the way back consumed some gas. But again, tell the customer and allow to fix it rather than secretly charge it. They earned 50 but lost a customer forever.

Poor customer service. High probability of errors and no responsibility for committed mistakes. I bumped into an unprecedented problem when I was trying to pay my rent. POS terminal was refusing transactions for my different cards with no obvious reason. Cards were from Portuguese banks! First I tried to pay with a credit card. The transaction was declined but full amount of money was put on hold. I showed it to the manager but he wasnt able to explain me what happened referring to problems with my card. But obviously there was no problem since the whole amount was on hold. Next the manager didnt tell me that it was possible to use a debit card. So I had to spend a lot of time calling my bank and visiting the bank office just to find out that there was a problem in the POS terminal of the rental office. Moreover when I returned to the rental office and insisted on using a debit card (another one) the first transaction was declined! And only the second attempt was successful. I spent a lot of effort and time just to rent a car. Moreover the amount that was put on hold on my bank accounts was 3 times more! And I wasnt able to use that money for about a month! I wrote to the customer service asking them to check POS terminals to make sure that situations like this would not happen again. Also I asked about compensation for this poor service and the fact that I wasnt able to use my money for a month because of the hold. Needless to say that they didnt check POS terminals and didnt pay me any compensation.

Scammers. Every little thing they can get away with to screw you over, they do. Waited 2 hours to send me the return receipt to charge me extra 10 euros. The initial employee straight up lied to me saying the rate with bonus insurance was cheper than the rate without. Incompetence or Malice, I dont know, but I suspect its malice.

Abzocke und Betrug!!! Nach zwei Monaten wollen die uns einen Schaden andrehen (kaputte Kupplung), diesen wir nicht verursacht haben. Das Auto wurde für 5 Tage geliehen und nicht einmal 2 Tage gefahren. Wann hätte mein Mann diese Kupplung kaputt machen sollen? Er hat mehr als 15 Jahre Fahrerfahrung und hat das bei all unseren Autos nicht hinbekommen.. Mitte September wurde das Auto in Faro abgegeben und da wollten sie uns schon etliche Schäden unterjubeln. Nur gut das wir vorher/ nachher Fotos gemacht haben. Der Bericht der Werkstatt von der kaputten Kupplung ist von Ende Oktober. Ihr wollt uns doch komplett veräppeln!!!! Wir haben schon sehr oft bei Sixt gebucht und noch nie so eine Schweinerei erlebt

Sixts Disorganized Chaos: A Reservation Nightmare My recent experience with Sixt was nothing short of a disaster. Despite having a pre-booked reservation, I was forced to wait in an excessively long line with other customers who hadnt bothered to reserve. The customer service staff seemed overwhelmed and understaffed, leading to an excruciatingly slow process. Sixts failure to prioritize customers with reservations is unacceptable. Its incredibly frustrating to arrive on time, only to be treated the same as walk-in customers. This lack of organization and respect for customers time is inexcusable. I strongly advise anyone considering renting from Sixt to reconsider. The potential for significant delays and inconvenience is simply not worth it.

They don t make any difference between people that haven t booked their car and people that have indeed reserved it and paid for it. To be honest this shouldn t be this way, customer service is 0. Entao o meu problema foi que fiz reserva para 4 dias e esses 4 dias tornam se num inferno fui de lisboa ate a covilha com pneus caoticos que podia ter tido um acidente pelo caminha se houvesse um deles que tivesse um furo e la ia eu Passei uma tarde toda com telefonemas e mail para resolver o problema e so me diziam que tinha que ir buscar outro carro no porto ou em lisboa onde eu sou da covilha.chegou a conclusao de me darem ordem para mudar os pneus tive. Que pagar do meu bolso e agora passado 10 dias ainda estou a espera do remborso da soma efctuada Ligo todos os dias para agencia e dizem me que tenho que esperar Nao é normal que me dizem que ainda tenho que esperar mais 10dias porque o problema so foi ontem enviado para a direçao dia 19novembro entao quer dizer que ainda tenho que esperar mais 10 dias do que ja esperei ao todo vai fazer 20 dias uma vergonha nao aconcelho esta agencia a ninguem aluguem no outro sitio Uma vergonha para o cliente Anabela barroca E aqui a prova em fotos do problema que hoje acho que nao sei se tava em vida ao caso tivesse acontecido algum acidente E ainda por cima perder uma tarde inteira para a mudança de tal E 4 dias sem poder fazer o que tinha previsto

Très déçue et pratiques malhonnêtes pour faire gonfler la facture. Jai rendu le véhicule avec 98/99% de plein dessence. Lors du retour, la personne men informe. Je demande combien me couterai de laisser SIXT rajouter les 1/2% manquant. La personne me dit quils facturent le prix de lessence. Je lui re-demande sil est sûr et il me confirme quen effet, la facture correspondra à ce quil manque dessence. De retour en France, je vois que lon ma facturer 30 pour le service de ravitaillement et que lon ma facturé 28 pour léquivalent de 1/2% de la capacité du réservoir. Cest impossible quil faille 28 pour remplir un réservoir dessence plein à 98/99%. Jai une photo preuve que jai envoyé lors de ma réclamation. Cest donc faux et selon moi une technique pour faire gonfler la facture. Et cest scandaleux que SIXT ne prévienne pas ses clients que le service de ravitaillement est payant. Sinon, je serai allée rajouter les 1/2% dessence manquant puisque javais 1h davance lors du retour du véhicule et quune station était à 5 minutes (celle où je suis allée mettre de lessence avant de rendre le véhicule). Je suis déçue quune compagnie aussi connue pratique des méthodes malhonnêtes.

Tomas was the best part of our experience. There was a 45 minute wait to meet with the associate, and another 1 hour wait to get the car. Even with the waits, the customer service was great. We were greeted with a smile and told that there would be a wait and the representative kindly recommended that we get coffee and come back in about 40 minutes. We did exactly that! About 5 minutes later, Tomas started our appointment. He was both patient and kind despite the long line. He treated us as if there was nobody else waiting. We had questions about the ezpass, and he immediately showed us a picture of what to do and not to do. He treated us so well that we had forgotten about the wait by the time we finished :)

I recently booked a car online with SIXT to pick up at their Picoas location, as I had a reservation that required me to be on time. Unfortunately, when I arrived, I had to wait in line for an hour, despite having a reservation. The check-in process was very slow, and when I asked the staff why I was waiting in line with customers who hadn t booked online, they didn t offer any explanation. However, I should mention that the guy who checked me in was truly polite and helpful. Th check-out process was smooth and fast. Overall, the pick-up experience was frustrating, although the return process went well.

If you re considering Sixt rental car, do yourself a favor and steer clear. They handed us a car with expired documents, which led to an embarrassing encounter with the police who towed the vehicle. We ve spent three excruciating hours trying to reach customer service, only to be met with complete silence. Our belongings medications, clothes, important documents are stuck in that towed car. We missed our hotel reservation in Faro, and I can t express how infuriating it is to deal with such incompetence. This is, without a doubt, the worst customer service I have ever experienced. Save yourself the headache and rent from a company that actually cares about its customers. Sixt is a total disaster. If not refunded we will def do a court case

El peor lugar en el que alquile alguna vez! Todo parecía de maravilla, nos dieron un upgrade hasta que al subirnos al auto, el mismo arroja un cartel de problemas con el motor. Si bien insistieron en que lo llevemos igual con los riesgos que eso implicaba, no íbamos a hacerlo, por lo que pedimos otro auto. No tenían nada disponible, quisieron ofrecernos autos enormes, riéndose de nosotros porque no los queríamos debido a que eran muy grandes. Se pensaban que por ofrecer un Mercedes Benz íbamos a irnos felices, pero no entendían que no podíamos por una cuestion de espacio. Luego de soportar por mas de 1 hora su burla y falta de respeto, nos dieron finalmente un auto y pudimos irnos de alli. No vayan! No lo recomiendo!

English: Warning to anyone thinking of renting a car from this company: Do yourself a favor and go somewhere else! I had the misfortune of renting a car from this company and was hit with outrageous additional fuel charges. Even though I returned the car with 6/8 of the tank full, I was charged for a completely full tank. When I complained, they claimed I had signed a contract that justified this absolutely ridiculous and unfair to customers! They explained the option as follows: You don t necessarily need to refuel when returning the car. How it really works: You pay an extra fee for this service. They will still charge you for a full tank, no matter how much fuel is left when you return the car. Service usefulness: 0/10 Service scam level: 11/10 It must be clear that I still haven t received my money. They offered this service and told me not to refuel. So, I paid for a service only for them to charge me for a full tank anyway. On top of that, when I returned the car, they spent 30 minutes inspecting it, trying to find any hidden scratches. When they couldn t find any, they tried to claim damage that was already there. It felt like they were waiting for me to offer them money as a thank you for overlooking things. I ve rented cars many times before, but I have never experienced such unprofessionalism. The worst part is that, after almost three months, I still haven t received the refund. Every time I called, I spoke to a different agent, and each one said they would follow up, but they never did. I ve called at least eight times and sent multiple emails no response, no refund, nothing! How can a company treat its customers like this? I feel completely ignored and ripped off. If you value good service and fair treatment, avoid this company at all costs! Absolute disaster. Quando não conseguiram encontrar nada, tentaram alegar danos que já estavam lá. Parecia que eles estavam esperando que eu oferecesse dinheiro como agradecimento por fecharem os olhos. Já aluguei carros muitas vezes, mas nunca vi tanta falta de profissionalismo. Mas o pior é que, depois de quase três meses, ainda não recebi o reembolso. Cada vez que liguei, falei com um consultor diferente, e cada um prometeu que iria acompanhar a questão, mas nunca o fizeram. Já liguei pelo menos oito vezes e enviei vários e-mails sem resposta, sem reembolso, nada! Como uma empresa pode tratar seus clientes assim? Sinto-me completamente ignorado e enganado. Se você valoriza um bom serviço e um tratamento justo, evite essa empresa a todo custo! Um verdadeiro desastre.

We rented a car from Sixt Lisbon airport. The pick up and car were fine and as expected. We needed 2 more hours on the rental on the return date due to traffic conditions. We were advised that we had to pay for another day. Fine, we paid for the extra day. However, the contract was only for the extra 2 hours. So, we paid for 22 hours we didnt get. This is an extortionary and predatory system. I would not recommend Sixt, nor will I ever do business with them again.

If I could give negative stars I would, this company is very dishonest with how they deal with charging customers. I booked my rental through a third party website, when I got to the location to pick up my rental I mentioned I did not need extra insurance as my credit card covered everything I needed, and third party is included in the price of the rental. I reiterated 3 times that i did not or want to be charged for extra insurance as I didn t need it, I was reassured by the employee that helped me that I would only be charged for the etoll which I agreed too. She said that was all that would be charged and asked me to sign papers for the deposit left to take the vehicle. Come time to drop of the rental I asked twice if there would be any extra charges she assured me there wouldn t be only the toll charges and that I was free to leave. Come a few days later, I got an invoice stating I owed 227 euro extra for smart protection insurance, and gas refill that I was not told about either. I have sent numerous emails to rectify the situation to only be ignored by customer service as well as the stores manager, completely ignoring what I had said about being wrongly charged and told that they had signed paperwork which was wrongly portrayed as what I was signing. Lesson learned I will never sign paperwork without reading which, the employee that helped me insist I didn t need to read that it was only for deposit and to take the car.

Lenfer et arnaque... Nous sommes arrivés à 12h30 pour récupérer notre voiture et avons attendu quasiment 2h avec une queue interminable. Aucune excuse de la part du personnel pour cette attente (qui avait lair de subir aussi la colère des autres personnes devant nous). Si lexpérience ne sarrêtait quà cela... Mais malheureusement non ! Lhôte daccueil dun anglais médiocre ma fait payer une caution de 90 en mexpliquant très clairement quils me seront restitués au moment du retour du véhicule. Cela fait 3 semaines que nous avons rendu le véhicule et je me rends compte en lisant mieux les petites lignes quil ma fait payer une option pour rendre le véhicule avec le réservoir dessence vide. Nan mais larnaque... Ca veut dire que jai rendu un véhicule avec le plein dessence en ayant payer une option rendre le véhicule avec le réservoir vide. Donc faites attention à ce premier point ! Et jai déjà envoyé un mail à Sixt pour expliquer la situation et je nai toujours pas de retour au bout dune semaine... Evidement, ma terrible expérience ne sarrête pas là... Lorsque nous avons récupéré le véhicule, personne pour venir avec vous pour faire le tour et constater les éventuels dommages. Par expérience car je loue 5 à 6 fois des véhicules par an et de préférence chez la concurrence, je prends toujours toute la voiture en photo et en vidéo le 1er jour. Evidemment ça na pas loupé au retour du véhicule, jai reçu une notification dun grosse rayure à larrière. Jai tout de suite envoyé la photo faite le 1er jour à Sixt.... Et devinez quoi ? Jamais eu de réponse encore une fois ! Bref, passez votre chemin si vous ne voulez pas vous faire arnaquer !

In my case the money for prepaid fuel was returned only after I wrote to them twice! And in more than 2 weeks they want to take money from me for tolls, but I already paid. Very fast and efficient pickup, no other clients were there when we went to pick up the car so there was no waiting time at all. Francisco was super helpful, he explained us the whole process and the fees, answered all our questions and he even suggested some places to visit during our trip, which was really nice. I reserved a compact automatic car(Renault Clio or similar) and we got a Ford Puma, which I believe is an upgrade. The car was really nice, clean and with no damages and the added Apple Car was a really nice touch and helped a lot. I bought the smart cover, so I had 0 excess to pay, they just put a 300 euro deposit hold, from which they deducted the tolls paid during the trips and I got the difference back 2 days later after the return. Also the return was super quick and on point, they just checked briefly the car and the fuel level. As I returned the car with a full tank and had no damages, there were no issues and everything was fine.

Very bad rental experience. The car itself was great but the service was not. The lady, with whom I was signing the contract, misinformed me about the fuel options - I was compelled to buy prepaid full tank and the amount on the contract was different from the one on the final invoice. I have not received the rental agreement until the very last complaint. Furthermore, I have inspected the car upon pickup, with another Sixt employee, just to be sure which damages are described in the email confirmation. The man pointed to the damages and then to the system app, indicating that damages are marked in the system with a red dot. Upon car return I was informed that one of the damages (the biggest) was not registered in the system. After two months of complaints and waiting for the decision from the car damage department I was informed again that I am to be charged for the damage, which I saw upon pickup. Lose of money and nerves. The car damage department did nothing to try to establish the source of the damage and have not tried to go the documents itself. I asked for the footage from security cameras numerous times, and never received a reply. In theory, you can send them feedback. In practice, no one cares and they will simply charge you anything they want. The only thing they returned was half of the money for unused full tank. It was my second time using Sixt and my last one.

Tankfüllung-Abzocke mit System, nach den Rezensionen bin ich offensichtlich nicht die Einzige. Bei der Anmietung in Porto sagte man uns, dass wir das Auto auch mit leerem Tank abgeben könnten. Wir haben dennoch unmittelbar vor der Rückgabe in Lissabon vollgetankt. Die Rückgabe ging super schnell und es kam dann auch direkt eine Bestätigung per Mail, worin auch der volle Tank bestätigt wurde. Wenige Tage später kam eine Abrechnung, u.a. inkl. knapp 100 für den Tank-Service. Abgebucht von der Kreditkarte wurde dann zudem ein Betrag, den ich überhaupt nicht nachvollziehen konnte anhand der Rechnung. Ich hatte glücklicherweise über den ADAC gebucht, der sich auf meine Beschwerde hin eingeschaltet hat. Nach 2 Wochen habe ich immerhin die knapp 100 von Sixt zurück überwiesen bekommen. Trotzdem scheint mir diese fragwürdige Praxis bei Sixt Portugal System zu haben.

Another shady car rental business. I booked our reservation on Expedia so that when we arrive, we would just need to pay and pick up. It was a long travel day, and I was already exhausted by the time we walked up to the Sixt counter. The agent was well dressed but spoke English fast and confidently with a heavy accent that I could only understand some of his words. Asking him to repeat himself made him visually agitated, but he kept his professional composure. When he finally processed payment and I reviewed the paperwork, I saw that the amount he charged was almost doubled from the Expedia booking. Apparently, I had agreed to insurance on the car that I don t usually add on. At the time, I was too tired to do anything, so I called Expedia to look into it. It s just a little too shady to try and pull something like that on tired travelers.

If you re planning to rent a car, be sure to go early to avoid a bit of a wait. The reason for the queue? Exceptional customer service! They really take their time with each customer, ensuring everyone gets the attention they deserve, which can cause some delays. As a suggestion, it would be great if they could speed up the process by sending the contracts in advance so we can read through and ask questions before picking up the car. A special shout-out to Ivo for keeping the line moving efficiently while still providing top-notch service. I booked a car for the day, and it was fantastic! Smooth ride with no complaints. We did encounter an issue at the end of our trip when the car suddenly stopped working. However, their emergency service was excellent and efficient no issues at all over the phone, and they provided a solution within 5 minutes. The car started working again on its own, so we ended up canceling the assistance, but their readiness to help was impressive. We returned the car a bit late at 10:30 PM, and thankfully, there was still someone at the reception. Unfortunately, there was no space for more cars, so we had to return it the next day. Since the rental goes for 24 hours from the booking time, we only had to pay a £10 late return fee. The next morning, returning the car was a breeze, thanks to Lina. She s a wonderful customer service professional and made the process super easy. We booked the car from 9 AM to 10:30 PM, picked it up at 9:30 AM, and returned it at 9 AM the following day. We used it for a lovely trip to Cascais and the Palacio da Pena. In total, we spent 90, which included scratch/wheels insurance, the late return fee, and petrol. I highly recommend this service! The team is friendly and warm, and while we had a few issues, they always had quick and effective solutions. Special thanks to Lina for the great restaurant recommendation too! They speak English, Spanish and Portuguese of course.

Je ne fais que rejoindre les différents avis émis... Catastrophique. Je déconseille fortement de louer chez SIXT. Mon expérience avec cette société a été extrêmement décevante. Tout dabord, le service client laisse vraiment à désirer. Jai eu affaire à un personnel peu aimable et peu professionnel, qui na pas su répondre à mes questions de manière satisfaisante. Enfin, les frais supplémentaires facturés par SIXT sont exorbitants et totalement injustifiés. Non seulement les tarifs de base sont déjà élevés, mais en plus, ils ajoutent toutes sortes de frais cachés qui font grimper la facture finale de façon astronomique. Qui bien entendu vous éloignera fortement de votre réservation en ligne. Aucune proposition doptimisation du prix, ils préfèrent ajouter des options dont personne na besoin (assurance, essence, flexi late return, conducteur supp). Cest simple, comptez le DOUBLE ! Je vous conseille également de faire extrêmement attention lors du rendu de la voiture. Pensez à réaliser des vidéos de la voiture lors de la récupération. Lors de la restitution, EXIGEZ de le faire sur place avec une personne compétente et signer le document sur place. A croire quils sont payés à la commission. En résumé, louer chez SIXT a été une expérience désagréable et coûteuse. Je ne recommanderais cette société à personne et je vais certainement chercher dautres options pour mes prochains déplacements. Cette entreprise mérite un procès pour abus de confiance, arnaque et facturation abusive.

Rented a car for 8 days. From start to finish, no issues. Staff was great. A little bit of a wait to get my car as there was a little line of people and only one counter open, but it was a holiday. Once at the counter, a few minutes until I got my car. I forgot the guys name manning the counter but he was nice and explained everything. Loaded the car and drove off. Return was even easier, just pulled into the return spot. Attendant inspected car while I was unloading. After unloading, everything was good; I signed and left. Very easy and quick. From my experience, I would definitely rent again from this location. Disclosure, I didn t mess around and had full coverage so I didn t need to inspect and take pictures before I drove off and it probably made for an easier drop off too.

Made a booking online for a car for 3 days, including 2nd driver. I lost my driving license the day before picking up the car, but my partner was registered as 2nd driver and had her valid license. We were advised by the lady at the counter that the booking couldn t be processed without my license (I had my passport) and that because there were no other cars available (what about the one I booked?) the price would be triple through a new booking. Of course with the most arrogant attitude. We left without a car, minus 100 for the first booking, but with a lot of anger. Go to another company.

Dubious transaction, based on reviews here I find a pattern here of there fraud practices. If not resolved will have to take all available legal channels. You refund false claim of rim damage, also insurance was bought on recommendation by agent that it has zero deductible. They will act dumb when you call them. And will respond via automated message saying they are busy(hopefully not for long) . I m posting this review here for clients who are going to rent for upcoming summer season. Do whatever you may, but this place is best to avoid.

Catastrophique : nous avions rendez-vous à 10h pour retirer la voiture louée, étions en avance pour ne pas perdre de temps pour la suite de notre journée, et finalement il nous a fallu attendre plus d1h30 en plein soleil pour la récupérer. Organisation catastrophique.... Ceci dit la voiture au moins était en bonne et due forme, mais on nous a poussé à ajouter des tas doptions en plus, pas du tout adaptées qui nous ont fait perdre de largent et plus du temps.

Aluguei um Clio por uma plataforma terceira, porém não tinham mais o veículo e por isso me ofereceram um T-Roc. Fui muito bem atendido por uma Sra que não recordo o nome, porém me explicou tudo nos mínimos detalhes. Optei por não colocar o seguro, pois tinha o seguro da plataforma na qual aluguei, tentei usar um dos meus cartões onde tenho seguro para locação de veículos porém não foi aceito e precisei alterar para um outro. Agradecer pelo atendimento e disposição do Jefferson que fez a vistoria no veículo antes de eu retirar e me informou com clareza de detalhes como o carro deveria ser entregue (no horário, limpo ) Um ponto negativo acho que seria a localização, pois não há um espaço para fazer a vistoria do veículo com mais calma antes de sair A localização é bem central e acessível com os transportes públicos. Vorsicht: Hier sollte man kein Fahrzeug mieten, denn was diese Sixt Station macht, ist kriminell. Vorfall: Ich habe am 10.01 einen Ford Puma gebucht. Leider habe ich den Schlüssel kurz danach verloren. Das wurde sofort gemeldet und man versicherte mir, das der zweite Schlüssel organisiert wird und es 2-3 Tage dauern würde. Eine Parkkralle wurde nicht angebracht, das heißt Auto mit Inhalt hätte jederzeit entwendet werden können. Nach einigen Tagen mussten wir dann direkt zu Sixt fahren, da diese Filiale sich nicht mehr gemeldet hatte und das Auto aber auch wieder abgegeben werden musste. Dann kam das böse erwachen, denn Sixt hatte kein zweiten Schlüssel. Daraufhin gab es ein Gespräch mit dem Filialleiter. Er versicherte uns das wir uns bei dem Auto um nichts mehr kümmern müssten und die Miete zum Ende des Mietvertrages beendet werden würde. Das Auto wurde dann mit einem abschlepper abgeholt. Wir haben ein neues Auto gemietet und alles schien gut zu sein. Betrug: 1. Der Herr T. Cavaco (Filialleiter) mit dem wir gesprochen haben, war überhaupt nicht der Filialleiter, aber hat sich so ausgegeben. 2. Ich musste über 500 für die Schlüssel, Abtransport und Betankung nachzahlen. Jeder der sich ein wenig mit Autos auskennt und auch nach Anruf bei Ford, weis das einen Schlüssel nachmachen nicht über 500 kosten. Ich habe deren zweiten Schlüssel mit bezahlt und das ist Betrug. Ich kann das ganze beweisen, da es dokumentiert und auch aufgenommen wurde von einer 3 Person :). Da Sixt hier in mehreren Fällen betrogen hat, sollte man diese Filiale unbedingt meiden. PS: Die eigene Angestellte vom Schalter hat uns ebenfalls mitgeteilt, das sowas mit den Schlüsseln schon mehrfach vorgekommen sei. Wie kann es sein, das Sixt keinen zweiten Schlüssel zum Fahrzeug hat? Wie kann es sein das sich Mitarbeiter mit falschen Positionen ausgeben? Im übrigen haben wir bei 2 Fahrzeugen komplett schmutzige Fahrzeuge erhalten.

Used this service to rent in Lisbon on 08.03.2024. My total was 66.44 euros for one day of the rent, and 300 euros deposit. I requested a full insurance, and after I have returned a car, the guy checked it and told that no new damages were found. So no more charges should have been done. After a few days I received a deposit of 300 euros back, and at that point everything was correct. But the next day there were 2 more transactions done in my banking app. As the result, I was charged twice (132 euros), although no charges should have been done. After I wrote tons of emails and made a lots of calls to Sixt in Portugal (phone calls from Poland where I am based are quite expensive), I received an answer that based on their calculations everything is correct. Then, I have sent them a screenshots of each of my transactions from banking app with English explanations, since my app is in Ukrainian. I have received the same answer - that everything is correct based on my screenshots. But if you use a basic calculator and sum up everything - you will get 132 euros, which is twice the amount of my initial rent. I have called them multiple times, for this date still anybody on the phone line does not know anything about my case, and they are constantly telling me to write an email AGAIN. The commutation is poor, it takes for them 1 week to answer my very simple email. It is still no clear how long is it going to take. But anyways, do not recommend using their service

Never use the services of these scammers. I was charged 500 euros for existing damage that was on the car. They use tricky processes to absolve themselves of any responsibility in the event of any damage. They ask for your signature to confirm that the car is in the condition described in the agreement before you even see it. Instead of showing me the damage before I returned the car, they said the car was in good condition and everything was fine. They sent me an email with blurry photos 4 days after my rental ended, claiming these as proof. The damage was on the windshield, so their super cover didnt include those cases, only separate windshield protection. When I asked for details of these proofs, like the size and additional photos from different angles to verify that the damage was not a scam and at least existed on the vehicle I took, they ignored my complaints, replying with a standard ChatGPT-based email that they have enough evidence for the damage. The person who picked up the car and started all this unfortunate case is Pedro M, as stated in the rental checklist. Even if you like Sixt or have already rented a car from them, be wary of him when returning a car. You can see the proof attached.

Completely fraud. You will be charged extra for EVERYTHING. I made the most complete full insurance (0 deductible) through the website, when i got the agency, they obliged more to add 25% more because the insurance is not including glasses, tires etc then they charged my card with deposit correlated to 8 times the cost of the rental and the insurance. When i asked why i still need to pay a deposit they say that these are the rules of SIXT. Six T car rentals in Portugal - AVOID AT ALL COSTS !!! We rented a vehicle from them at Lisbon Airport, which was a headache on its own. Yes, they were extremely busy but we waited 90 minutes at the pickup location for them to get our rental. Thats not the kicker though. When they finally brought our vehicle to us, the agent nonchalantly tossed me the keys and said, good to go. I inquired about doing an inspection for damage and he discouraged it. Nonetheless, I went over the vehicle, in a dark parking structure, with people honking there horns and staff telling me to leave, as thorouhly as possible and had him make a note on the contract for body damage I found. Lo and behold, when I returned the vehicle the next day in Faro as had been pre-arranged, it was outside in the sunshine and the check-in agent went over the vehicle with a fine tooth comb, noting a little scuff on the lower air deflector below the front bumper. I know it was pre-existing damage, as I would have known if I had hit something or scraped a curb. However, my protests and elevating the issue to Head Office, fell on deaf ears and I found it abundantly clear that this is how they add revenue to their rental fees. They ended up charging me 350 euros to repair and repaint the component It was black impregnated plastic under the vehicle so their repair estimate made no sense. Lesson learned. On another note, I played golf with a guy from Ireland while in Portugal. He told me his friend returned a vehicle to Six -T Rentals and they accused him of returning the vehicle without the floor mats. He claims they were never there in the first place. They charged him approx 200 Euros. Steer clear - Gangsters.

Contudo, na semana passada, ao devolver um carro alugado, fui informado de que estava em falta a chapeleira do veículo, algo que não estava a chapeleira no carro quando o aluguei. No momento da devolução do carro, não assinei qualquer documento porque não estava de acordo com essa falta. Agora, estão a tentar cobrar-me 400 por um dano pelo qual não sou responsável. Aluguei um carro DACIA 7 lugares nesta agência. Ao pegar o carro a disposição dos 7 lugares já estava montado, não tive que mudar nenhuma configuração de banco. Optei pelo seguro total. Utilizei o carro por menos de 24h, devolvendo intacto no aeroporto. Pra minha surpresa 48 h após a entrega do carro sou notificado de um dano à uma peça interna( cobertura do porta malas) que sequer sabia que se encontrava dentro do carro e que me foi informado que não estava coberto pelo seguro total. Uma cobrança autoritária de 400 euros pelo custo da peça debitado no meu cartão. Apesar de contestar no email do customer service, não tive sucesso em reverter a cobrança. Deixo alerta aos clientes futuros, checar todas a peças possíveis pois a sensação é ter caído numa armadilha, sendo inputado a mim um dano de uma peça que sequer tive contato.

Rented a vehicle in the heart of Lisbon from Sixt. The vehicle I initially reserved was too small for what we had (extra luggage, stroller and car seat for infant). I was sent to the airport to get a larger vehicle as they have more inventory. This took some time but overall the staff couldn t have been more helpful. We got the vehicle we needed and they were great about it. Returning the vehicle in Lisbon was an experience. It s not overly far but the countless narrow and one way streets have you going in circles to get you to where you need to be. Consider returning to the airport as it s much more straightforward. That said, once I arrived the staff were great and the return was very quick. I definitely recommend Sixt!

Interesting to see that I wasnt the only charged for damages that I found before I left the garage. The had a guy come up and measure the scratch on the rim, take pictures and then had me sign something on his phone. Turns out it was a document that says I caused the damage. Between the language barriers and my trust of people, I got screwed. Took me forever to get them to respond to my many emails, to no avail.

Reservamos un coche por 42 al día y dos horas antes de la hora de recogida nos mandaron un email cancelando la reserva diciendo que no disponían del coche, pero ya estábamos en la oficina cuando vimos el email. Allí nos ofrecieron otro vehículo por 95 /día y cuando dijimos que nos parecía caro, que no íbamos a pagar nos dijeron que nos hacían un descuento y nos lo podían dejar por 70 (osea que si no me hubiesen visto renegar del precio me cobrarían 25 más por todo el morro) por supuesto rechazamos también los 70 . En la calle de atrás está europcar, por 60 nos ofrecieron un vehículo mucho mejor que incluía además seguro a todo riesgo. No volveremos a repetir con Sixto nunca más. Son los que más se anuncian porque el servicio es pésimo. Basta ver otras reseñas...

Yesterday I had a reservation for a car at 06:00pm. Arrived at 06:05pm and the worker in the front disk told me that their where closed and I needed to come back tomorrow to pick up the car at 8am(this make no sense, since I didn t got any information about the closing time of the store.) Completely understand the position of the workers at the front disk(the don t want to work extra without getting paid). Thankfully a guy named Paulo had good sense had helped me to get the car that same day(however ended up paying 40 euros extra, as an after hour fee) My point with this review is to endorse that Paulo did its best to helped me and actually worked extra to solve the problem. We should have more guys like Paulo in our society. Another point I want to make is that Sixt should inform their customers about the closing time of the store, so that situations like this don t repeat. Never had any issue with Sixt in 3 years I have been a client, it was the first time. Hopefully you guys can do something with this. Thank you for your time!

Rental car from November 27, 2023 to December 2, 2023. When placing the order, the manager wanted to charge more money than originally agreed upon. We noticed the difference. The manager redid the contract without explanation and the cost became the same. No accidents happened during the rental and we delivered the car on time and in good order. On December 6, I got my deposit back and was immediately charged additional money without explanation. I did not receive any letters or checks in the mail. On the same day I wrote a letter to Sixt. I did not receive a reply to this letter, but I received another one. I was told that everything was written off correctly and enclosed a copy of the document for the additional debit. At this moment I requested more detailed information and am waiting for a reply. I did not like the fact that they wanted to cheat at the beginning of the lease and then write off the money from the account without warning. They dont send letters about the intention and explanation of the debit in advance. I plan to seek justice and will act according to the law. I hope the management of Sixt will be more responsible to work and control employees for high service.

Almost stuck in middle of no where. They didn t check the battery before we got on the road. On the highway we went into warning signs. We thought possibly a false positive since they had given us the car. We were wrong. Car wouldn t turn on. We were lucky to get a jump or we would have been waiting for some time for a tow. We were lucky to make it back - we tell them the problem and instead of saying sorry and thank you so much for getting the car back, they blame us for the problem, claiming we must have left the light on. I asked for an apology for that and they refused. This is the man who blamed us and would not apologize. I hope mgmt takes care of this.

I don t have any pictures to share but I ll say that I have only had good experiences renting from Sixt from LA to Miami to Lisbon. The location where we rented a car for the day was great - extremely hospitable & helpful staff, a clean & modern car at an insanely good rate. We rented an automatic transmission Ford & drove out to the ocean for the afternoon, returned the vehicle the same day to avoid having to park the car in the very narrow Lisbon city streets. Perfect!

We booked a electric car on official website 2 weeks before our trip but when we got the the place they told us the reservation was cancelled and they tried to propose us an another car with 3 times price ! Firstly, we received no email communication from their part about the cancellation like they said ( Not in the spam neither !), and when we asked them to show us the proof of the email that they said, they could not provide. Even more, we received an email from them few days before the pick up day regarding the booking information but with no cancellation mentioned ! What is worse is that on the official account, they just cancel our reservation without even leaving any track history of the reservation ( they just simply cancel the booking !) Shameful and what a fraud scheme ! They show on the website with low price car available to trick you and but in reality they will always find any ways to make you pay higher price as they won t have the car you reserved and you have no choice to accept their new proposal ! Please MAKE SURE to UNDERSTAND what is the meaning of the word called ´RESERVATION ! It means that the client booked the car they chose and you need to keep the car in the store so they could later pick up the car with the agreed price!

I see lots of reviews here about renting a car with preexisting damage and then being blamed for it. This is easily refutable, just be sure to take a video of the entire car upon receiving the vehicle. Then you have video proof for any future disputes. It is as easy as that folks.

The agent at the Lisbon centre branch straight up lied about the additional service she added without my consent! I had a reservation. The agent at the branch tried to sell me additional insurance - that is fine, I declined. But after that, the agend said I recommend to return the car with empty tank. Now, please, pay the car deposit with your card. (Note that I did not confirm adding any extra nor was communicated that an extra service is being added.) To my surprise, the amount on the terminal was approx. 500 , not 380 from reservation (300 deposit, 80 rental)! The agent did not communicate the amount at all. She handed me the agreement after (!) paying and I saw that the difference in price is caused mainly by tank special. I asked what is that and the agent said that it is the posibility to return the car with an empty tank. I said, that I dont want to do that so what will happen if I return the car with full tank. The agent then said that THEY WILL RETURN THE MONEY (93 )! I accepted the (false) explanation and signed the document. But something seemed off to me so I contacted the reservation central and they obviously explained to me that there will no refunds for unused fuel. If I were to believe to the agent at the branch and return the car with full tank, not only would I lose the 93 euros, I would also lose the money for the full tank of gas. To try to sell extras is understandable, but to straight up lie to customers is unaccetable and unheard of. I chose Sixt because I did not want to deal with some local scam artist car rental. I wont do the same mistake again.

Fraudulent business practices, recommend to avoid. They will bill you for pre-existing damages after rental, regardless of insurance type or evidence provided. Customer service only forwards your email to invoicing. Over an hour long wait times during pickup and return, during that time several customers having heated discussions about also being scammed. Absolutely horrific experience, I do not understand how such a business is legal.

Total Nightmare! We rented a A class or similar small hatchback and were upgraded to a Nissan SUV. We declined the upgrade as the streets of Lisbon and the garage we were to park at was narrow and small. However, the rental agent (Female) told us that in a very rude and obnoxious manner that we have to take the Nissan or else we pay an additional 50 euro for another smaller car. We told her our reason and she kept on insisting that a 2 series sedan was much bigger than a Nissan Qashqai SUV. Saying she knows a lot about cars and went on a rant. Totally unprofessional service and attitude! We told her we wanted to speak to her manager and she kept on refusing until she eventually gave in and he came over and went on the same rant. The manager was more receptive to us not wanting to be forced into upgrading into a bigger car and eventually allowed us to take the smaller sedan. We got a 2 series sedan which is the exact same as a 1 series hatchback so we got the car which we booked after 20 minutes of being forced into taking a larger car or paying a penalty. They brought the car over, gave us the keys and told us to leave asap. Not checking for damage or anything. It was extremely wet and dirty inside. We drove off and went to Sintra and once we parked we realised the car was dented and scratched all over and had 69,000 kilometres it. It has a warning light too for the arblue. To sum it up just shocking, do not rent from Sixt ever. Or maybe it s just the outlet in the city. Take a bolt to the airport if you must rent with sixt. The queue at sixt city Center is horrendous. We are sixt platinum but there wasn t a separate queue and clearly it didn t matter judging by the way we were treated. Terrible Service, poor cars and shockingly poor attitude from the rental agents

I have been renting a car from Sixt for years and although there were sometimes problems, I was very satisfied. I rented a car at the Lisbon center agency today (28:01:2024). Ms. Arianna, the office staff, was very helpful to us and it was a quick car rental. My only criticism will be about the car, because the car has 100 thousand km. It was old and very worn out, so I think its time for maintenance. Also, I think there was smoking in the car because after a while I had to wipe the steering wheel and touching areas of the car. In a busy office, I guess some things are not taken into consideration. I was told that the vehicle was delivered to me with full tank, but when I bought the vehicle, the gas range was 680 km. When I fill up with gas, it reaches 920 km. became the range. But still, this is an office I will choose again on my next trip to Lisbon.
