Good day! I rented a car in June, a Peugeot 2008, everything went quickly, easily and clearly! The staff was kind, attentive and explained everything clearly about the roads, gasoline, etc. I returned the car at the airport, there were no problems there either. I returned it quickly. The only question is why they are still writing off the money from the card and have not sent the documents? I can't get through to the guys who gave me the car. Please contact me. Thank you.
Getting the car was fast. The guy at the reception was nice and he explained everything including tolls, gas, etc very well. The car was in good shape and price was reasonable. We actually paid more for gas and parking than for the car. Returning was also straight forward and took less than 5 minutes. If you are looking for renting a car in Lisbon, I definitely recommend this place.
First time renting a car in Europe and AVIS has secured repeat business. Staff was extremely friendly but most importantly, informative and answered all the questions we looked up to ask before we asked them. Drove from Lisbon to the Algarve and did a few day trips while based in Albufeira.
I do not recommend renting from Avis as a company, particularly from Lisbon or Lagos. At the pick-up location in Lisbon, the guy at the front desk reiterated that it was cheaper if we did not fill up the gas as long as it didn't get below 1/4 tank. We should've known better but also they should be honest. I was charged $75.00 when I returned it when I could have filled it up for less than $20. The bigger issue is when I returned the vehicle in Lagos and they accused me of damages that were simple wear and tear of the vehicle that were likely there before I even took the car. Review left for their location accordingly.
Didn't have a record of my privilege plus status, meaning I was queuing for over half an hour. They offered me a fairly new car with low mileage, told me to wait outside for it. After waiting another 30 minutes - there was still no car. I went back in to ask what was going on, at which point they told me my car had a puncture and were therefore changing it. Unsurprisingly it was an absolutely battered older car with high mileage. Every single panel was damaged. I was given zero instructions on how to return the car to the Porto station Avis rental office, which turned out to be extremely problematic too. Overall, one of the poorest Avis rental shops I have dealt with. I would avoid.
Male agent (without glasses, sorry didn't catch his name) and Rita were a pleasure to deal with. She was very cordial and responsive in recording the scratches that were already on the car before I began my journey. Make sure to get there early as line ups can get long.
Beware of pressure tactic and Bait and switch tactic of agent at this AVIS counter: On August 3, 2023, I made an online reservation for a Peugeot 3008 or similar, Mileage: Unlimited, Automatic Transmission ( the quote was $338). When I showed up on August 10, 2023 at the Avis location, the reserved car type was not available. The clerk told me that there was a Mitsubishi hybrid with automatic transmission available BUT I must have a second credit card OR MUST buy full insurance before he would release that car. He would not accept my wife's credit card because it has a different name. I do not see what could be wrong with my Visa in the first place. I paid with that card when I returned the car later. I always used my Visa for car rental insurance. I ended up renting that car with the full insurance under duress just so that I would not have to waste my valuable vacation time. I felt like I spent two hours at the counter that morning before I could drive away. The final bill was Euro 624 (about $674 about twice the initial quote!) which included a higher rental price for the car and full insurance. I called AVIS customer service after my trip last September 2023 to contest the bill and just got an email reply early January 2024 which basically included the copy of the bill and said that I agreed to pay it last August. I have never had to pay a higher rental rate when AVIS or any car rental company had to give me a substitute through no fault of mine. This is a most unsatisfactory car rental experiencer for which I am filing a complaint with the FTC.
I was pretty disappointed that even though I filled the tank with gas, I still got charged over 50 euros for filling it. Maybe there was something wrong with the gas nozzle, but the range meter on the dash said there was over 700km of range, so why would I think there was something wrong? It's so disappointing that you choose to treat your customers in this way and I would think there would be a better way to build the cost of refilling cars at a more reasonable rate. The gas in Portugal is already astronomically expensive, but then to jack it up 3 or 4 times the cost is really just wrong. If you get the "return empty" option, then you lose that way too because in a foreign country, there's no way to know how to get the car back exactly empty. Even in familiar environs, this is impossible. So you're setting your customers up to lose. Secondly, you have your website set up so that it's not possible to return when I wanted to return the car, but when I talked to the very nice staff there, they said there were indeed options for returning the car. So I had to change all my plans on the fly. Then the car was terrible. There was absolutely no way to navigate and adjust the environmental controls or the music at the same time. Well, maybe there was, but there was no user manual in the car, so I couldn't figure it out. The environmental controls are controlled using the touch screen, which is also where the navigation is. You can't do both at the same time. So it's hot or cold until you have miles to go and can change away from the navigation screen. This car should not be in your inventory. The cruise control was a ridiculous design. Also, I didn't figure out until the last morning when I was returning the car that you have to have the car in neutral and let the clutch out to have the car auto off at stops. All the cars in the US are automatic transmission, so this is unfamiliar and should be explained. Just silly, but you might mention this to your American customers. The windshield wipers needed replacement. This was surprising as I've never had this issue in 35 years of car rental. The staff was very nice though, that saved this from being a total bad experience.

Très mauvaise expérience dans cette agence (jeudi 12 décembre2024). Dès le depart, jai eu un souci avec la réservation effectuée par le biais du site internet partenaire. Sur place, les deux jeunes hommes de lagence (que jai réveillé en ouvrant la porte) nont fait aucun effort pour maider. Ils ont été très désagréables. Aucune gentillesse, aucun respect vis à vis du client. Pendant que je tentais de trouver une solution avec le site partenaire au téléphone, les deux jeunes hommes jouaient au foot sur leur téléphone et nont mis aucune bonne volonté à trouver une solution. Jai du annuler ma réservation et en partant ils mont dit de degager du magasin. Choquée de cette situation A fuir!!! Jai trouvé mon bonheur chez un concurrent avec un VRAI service client

Doy uno, porque no se puede dar un cero. Reservé un coche el jueves 31 de octubre a través da Rentalcars. Pagué, como hago siempre por precaución con una tarjeta virtual. Cuando llegué allí, me dijeron que no me daban el coche, porque la tarjeta de crédito que llevaba, no era con la que había hecho la reserva. Me quedé en shock! Les enseñé con mi móvil la tarjeta virtual utilizada que coincidía con la de ellos, pero decían que, quién les decía a ellos que yo podía haber robado el móvil. Completamente surrealista. Además, ellos dijeron... además ha hecho el seguro con Rentalcars. Me tuve que ir de allí, sin coche, y con hoja de reclamanciones. Llamé a ªRentalcars, que fueron impecables, y dijeron que, siempre se puede pagar con tarjeta virtual, y hacer el depósito con una tarjeta de crédito o débito según las condiciones de la compañía. Hice una segunda reserva con rentalcars, y recogí el coche en Álvares Cabral, donde fueron impecables, y también se quedaron en shock con la historia. Dicen que ellos aceptan, obviamente los pagos con tarjeta virtual, como hacemos todas las personas que tenemos algún cuidado con lo que pasa en la net. Por eso, solo puedo decir que no vayan a este sitio, porque los pueden engañar como me pasó a mí. De verguenza. Envío aquí el pago que hice con mi tarjeta virtual. Rentalcars ya me ha reembolsado una parte, y estoy esperando que haga el resto.

I told the agent at pick up I would likely be returning car earlier than the 6 day rental. Unbeknownst to me, the agent gave me a rental with a minimum 5 day rental. I returned the car after only 3 days and I was charged almost 600 euros for a small car. I complained when I returned the car and asked for relief but I was denied any. I have been a Avis preferred member for over 25 years and now that have been ripped off by Avis I will never rent from Avis again!

We rented a vehicle for the weekend at Hotel Mundial, Lisbon. We were given a vehicle with an invalid/expired registration, which clearly violates their own agreement. The car was towed for improper parking. We intended to pick up the car at the impound but would not be released for having invalid/expired registration. Customer service was horrible! We called all the telephone numbers provided in rental agreement with no success and locations around the city were closed on the weekends. As such, We were without the rental for the entire weekend. When I returned the keys on Monday, they expected me to to pick up the car from the impound. They were unapologetic that they violated their own agreement in giving us an invalid and/or unregistered vehicle. And, they expected us to physically go all around Lisbon to try to find an Avis that was open during the weekend. And finally they had the audacity of charging us for retrieving the vehicle due and for their incompetency! How absurd!
I m giving one star because I can t give it less than that. Rude and incompetent staff.

Was charged $91.70 Euro for fuel tank being returned 1/4 less than full. When I added fuel during the week I rented vehicle I paid 52 Euro for half a tank of fuel. the closest gas/fuel station 20 minutes away so it was impossible to return vehicle with completely full fuel tank. This was made clear in the small print of rental agreement but impossible to provide full fuel tank because of vehicle return location. The staff was friendly and the car was practically new. I wish employee had pointed out that reverse gear is engaged by pulling up on lever on shifter. That may be a Citroen feature but it led to an interesting situation.
When I picked up the car the agent had me sign a damage survey on a tablet in the office. It showed damage marks on various places overlaid on the vehicle. Then I was instructed to wait for the vehicle. When I received the vehicle I noted there were small scratches on the vehicle including a chip on the windshield. Upon drop off I was told this chip on the windshield (which was there when I picked up the car!) was my responsibility to fix and would equate to an $880 charge. When I told the representative that this was the condition I received the car in he said if I can t prove it with a photo I need to pay. -I should not have been told I need to sign off on damages before being able to inspect the vehicle -any damage to the vehicle should have been properly noted on the damage form. Instead I was charged for damage I did not do to the vehicle Following the rental they sent me an invoice and charged my CC for over $1k for this chip which was there when I picked up the car. I m furious that they are charging money for an error that one of their employees made when recording damages from a previous renter.

Service client était très bon. Mais la voiture nécessite beaucoup de maintenance. J attendais à quel moment je perds controle. Il y a un bruit fort qui fait peur au niveau de la suspension, en plus d un bruit légère au niveau du steering wheel, en plus la voiture tremblait beaucoup. Franchememt, c etait un cauchemar pour un trajet de lisbon-fatima!!

I decided to stop by the day before to change my pick up time, I spoke directly to Andre and the other nice gentleman at the front desk. He said he would take care of it. I arrived the next day at noon as we discussed and Andre had a very nice car picked out for us and our needs (better than I expected for myself). By listening to his recommendations we were very happy with our car and felt he really did us a solid by giving us additional valuable information for driving in Portugal. We really appreciated his assistance and help given some of the other reviews I have seen for renting in Portugal and if I had to rent again I would recommend this location. Thanks Andre and fellow Avis worker (im so sorry I didnt get your name). You both really made for an awesome trip without any problems given the location downtown. You guys are awesome and a great value to Avis!
Extremely rude staff. I dropped off the car and parked it in the garage. I handed my keys to an attendant at the desk who told me I was good to go. 30 minutes later I got a call from the manager saying I had left the car but no keys. He was very accusatory and was yelling. I asked him to check the desk and the keys were there. Turned out fine, but the manager had a very bad attitude and started out very angry rather than checking if they had made a mistake. Overall a horrible experience.

Everything went very well and the Portuguese staff was so helpful..The car was very good and new and we didn t spend much money to fulfill the petrol.
I was fraudulently charged a late fee and refueling fee. Luckily I kept receipts and photo and video proof the I returned early with a filled up tank. They are super friendly up front but are scamming tourists. Do not book here or take the precautions I did and keep all proof and be ready to dispute with your bank. Update: they do not have social media accounts for this location to get ahold of anyone. It s sad that to make money they stoop to fraud. Stay away!

Do not use Hotel Mundial Lisboa Avis Rentals. Unethical and dodgy masters. Will push all insurance products including accidental life insurance etc to make more commissions and promote sale. They dont ask but charge your credit card for pre-authorisation. Stay away from them

We returned the car on time and they charged us for another rental day contrary to the agreement. Dont believe any representative, just what is written. Renting a device to travel on toll roads, charge 3 times from local companies. In the rental agreement it is written that the insurance includes theft and they tried to include in the agreement that they give/send to an email that does not include insurance against theft, in legal language this is called getting rich outside the law and in the vernacular crooks .
I checked rental option in advance and was perfectly welcomed by Lianne and Fabio. Booked for two days after, all handled by Andrée. The car, an almost new Toyota Corolla Hybrid, automatic as wished, was a dream to drive. We had a great day in the countryside. Return was easy also after closing hours at the Mundial Hotel. Just to park in the garage with friendly instructions by the warden and key return at the desk. The bill afterwards was perfectly as expected and the 100 caution for fuel was returned. With many years of experience with renting cars in many countries, this was the best experience ever. Lianne, Renée and Fabio were very friendly and easy to speak with. Next time in Lisboa, I would be happy to rent here again.
Slechte service. Staan al 2 uur in de rij, men lijkt totaal niet verstand te hebben van het proces. Staan drie mannen niets te doen. Echt heel slecht. Verwacht dat het nog minimaal een uur gaat duren, we hadden andere plannen vandaag ipv in een rij wachten.

Wir waren zu früh dort, daher mussten wir warten. Haben das Auto auf die Minute pünktlich bekommen. Alles reibungslos und kompetent abgewickelt. Keine versteckten Kosten (Habe ich in Kreta schon anders erlebt). Allerdings hatte ich schon das Maximalpaket gebucht. Die elektronische Mautabbuchung ist zu empfehlen. Rückgabe dann am Flughafen ebenso problemlos und ohne Wartezeit.
Car was delivered as booked. Was very quick to obtain and get us on our way. No issues dropping car off at Hotel Mundial beside during the 3 hour daily closure. No extra fees charged. All in all great experience
How this branch has 3 stars is a mystery to me. Just had one of best car rental experiences ever. Fast, efficient, polite, explained everything well, converted console to english for me and booted up apple carplay navigation, upgraded car was meticulously clean. I rushed out without doing pre departure inspection as lineup had formed behind me, only to discover dent morning of day 2. Thought, oh no, this is how they ll get me but sure enough all damage had been previously noted on contract. So most importantly, these guys are honest!
Avis is extremely well located within walking distance of central Lisbon. Great point to take note when renting a car. Staff were extremely warm and friendly. Best point No payment was required until collection of car.
Check in went smoothly except when we drove off with our rental car and not even 2km away we started to have engine problems and had to pull over. We called this location where we received the rental car from and was told to call roadside assistance and did not give us any assistance from this location. We had to be driven to the airport to pick up a replacement vehicle, wait for the tow truck and thankfully at the airport was given the replacement. Would recommend to deal with car rental location at airport. This location has abnormal hours as well which forced us to stay in that city for several hours.

Beware of charges if you leave the car at the Hotel garage without being checked by Avis staff I got stung.... Changing to 3 stars as Avis UK Damage queries reverted the charges, however, still disappointed with the trouble caused by a ghost charges.
The staff were friendly, efficient, and helpful. This is a great location because its a straight shot to the highway. Our car was exactly the model we booked (so it fit our bags and passengers). The free toll-pass was invaluable--I cannot thank the excellent agent for including it AND explaining how to use the special lanes.

Rented a fiat 500 at this location. Pickup was easy and the service was friendly. However... Our rental return was scheduled for 5 pm and the rental agency closes at 6. Got there at 5, no one in the office, lights off. Called Avis, they were no help. Thank god for the Hotel Mundial and their helpful front desk staff, otherwise I m not sure what we would have done. They said the Avis agent(s) never came back from lunch... so, yeah, I d never rent from this location again and likely never rent from Avis.

Watch out for them because they are dishonest. The car was supposed to be able at 12 oclock and we got it at 12:40. The staff member told us we rent it for 24 hours but in fact we should give it back at 6pm the same day. The contract must be signed on a small screen where we are not able to read everything. An additional fee has been charged to us so we are trying to appeal against this decision.

Nous recommandons cette agence de location située juste en bas de lhôtel Mundial. Attention au parking de lhôtel qui est assez serré dans sa configuration, les places et voies de circulation sont petites.

Worst rental ever. Don t go here! They gave me a station car, I booked the smallest they had. The guy in the office was rude for no reason. Just a simple question could not be answered on a normal tone. We asked to speak with the manager. He did some effort, had to comeback in an hour. When we came back 10 min after that the office was closed for at least 2 more hours. I don t have my suitcases because they are inside, not the car key, and I paid for it. After calling 100 times they told me they are closed for 2 hours and had to come back after. This ruined the whole they, worst experience and very rude people.
Si existiera la opción de cero estrella pondría esa, 1 estrella es regalar un punto a un servicio de post venta nefasto. He alquilado un coche por 1 día, me han cobrado 87 y he dejado 103 de garantía por combustible, he cargado combustible y dejado el coche, a las 20h el problema es que a esa hora no hay personal que lo reciba y lo debes dejar en el hotel dónde nadie chequea nada. Luego al llegar a España veo que me han cobrado los 190 sin más. No hay teléfono de reclamo, nadie contesta, ni tampoco mails, SOIS UNA VERGÜENZA Y UNOS ESTAFADORES.

Worst customer experience ever!! First we had to wait for the car for 1 hour even though we made a reservation ahead. Then they charged us fuel costs although we did bring the car back fully fueled up. Now I am still waiting for the response on my online request to refund the money on the fuel. It has been a month now and there was not been any response at all!

As an Avis Chairman s Club member I can honestly state this is the worst experience I have ever had with Avis. Waited 45 minutes so far and line barely moved. They have a queue for Avis Preferred but are allowing non-members to use it slowing everyone up. I literally prepaid and prebooked, it should take a second to grab the keys and go but....

OMG! This was the most painfully SLOW process I ve ever experienced in my life!!!! MShow up at 10 am or expect to wait a minimum of 40 mins per person that is ahead of you in line. One person seems like they want to know your life story and the other takes a 10 min break between every customer
This was the worst experience I could have ever imagined! We waited outside for over 2 hours(mind you it was 97 degrees out), while the people inside had full conversations with each person that got to the front, totally oblivious to anyone else who had things to do that day. My family and I needed to be somewhere with this car, and because of this awful company we ended up missing our appointment by 2.5 HOURS! NEVER COME HERE. There are other car rental companies PLEASE USE THOSE. I would never recommend this place to anyone! One star is extremely generous, google you should start having a one star review button because I would use it for this place!

Stay away!!! This has been the worst customer experience of my life from begininf to end. The rep was arrogant, they had us wait forever, they tried to upsell us a bunch of upgrades we didnt need and the list goes on. I m not sure if this horrible customer service experience was because we are not in canada/usa, or because avis is a really bad company, but i am never going back with avis again thats for sure!! Stay away from this dealer in particular if you want to enjoy the rest of your vacations!
Worst customer service ever. Arrived early yet still waited over 90 minutes to be served despite there not being that many people in front of us. The employees took forever to go through the paperwork due to the relentless up selling trying to get customers to add various additional extras to their bill after scaring people into how much it would cost them if something went wrong. There was absolutely no excuse for it to have taken this long and I will avoid Avis at all costs.

We waited almost 2 hours in queue as it was high season for car rentals, but by the end of the day excellent service which gave us absolutely fantastic gentelmen in glasses from Avis office recompensated us everything - thank you very much, you was special and made our day in tour to Algarve Ewa with Zuzanna from Poland

Generally fine experience booking and picking up a Fiat 500. The staff seemed nice and did their best to be helpful. The car itself and no water in the windscreen reservoir but far, far worse than that did not have working aircon. The lack of aircon made for a miserable two days and left me feeling that they do not sufficiently prepare and maintain their fleet.
Estábamos atrasados para la entrega del carro, llamamos en 4 oportunidades y nunca contestaron. Llegamos a la oficina 1hora y 30 después de lo pautado y nos cobraron 180 euros por 1 día adicional 30 euros más que la causion por retirar el carro. Nos negamos y dijeron que presentarámos la reclamacion por correo a la semana nos cobraron los 180 euro. Y sin respuesta de Avis. Cabe destacar que alquilamos en coche 3 días por el monto de 55 euros....
Had reservations for 12. Its now 130 and according to the rep its still getting cleaned . Im not sure how the other companies are but if I knew this I would spend the extra $ for a company that provided better service
Cette agence est une catastrophe et prend les touristes pour des C.... Le 25 juillet, nous avons réservé et payé la location dun Jeep Compass diesel, du 12 oct au 15 oct; Le jour J, on nous a remplacé le jeep par une Kia Proceed essence, nous affirmant que cette voiture est de la même catégorie, ressemblant àen plus à une porche Panamera. De plus ils nous ont informé que le choix de modèle de voiture nest pas garantie! Et quils navaient pas de Jeep compass. En gros, nous devrions être content davoir ce quils veulent bien nous donner... bien sûr... le prix na en aucun cas été révisé, ni aucune offre commerciale proposée... mais on nous a proposé de payer 190e de plus pour annuler la franchise en cas d accident. Je précise également que la connectivité à bord du véhicule est une option payante!
Dont ignore the bad reviews and ratings! Worst car rental experience ever! Our issues were: 1) We were the first people there at 9am and it still took us 1.5 hours to get our car. 2) We were told we were getting a brand-new car but when the car arrived it had clearly been in an accident. The staff was hesitant and not helpful in recording all the damage. 3) One of the tires was low of pressure and the tire pressure symbol in the car was on. I was told that it would be fine and that I simply needed to fill the tire up with air at a gas station. I was told that they were not able to do this for me. I was assured that there was no hole in the tire. When I requested a new car, they refused. 4) When I went to fill the tire up with air, I noticed a large gash in the tire and it was leaking air. When I went to change the tire, I was surprised to see that no spare tire was in the car. 5) I returned the car to this location was greeted with hostility by the staff. They claimed to have offered me a new car when I first presented the issue, but this was a complete lie. They yelled at me for voicing my concerns that they had but my family in danger. 6) Upon returning the car, they tried to charge me extra fees with an explanation at all. It is not until I refused to remove my bags from the car and sign anything that they explained things to me. They wanted to charge me for a full tank of gas when this was clearly not the case. I know that this location is central and easy to get to but I HIGHLY recommend not using this location. You will save more time using another company or going to another location.

Très bonne agence de location. Nous avons été très bien accueilli et avons eu une Peugeot 2008 quasi neuve et très propre pour moins de 30 0ar jour. Le personnel est très sympathique!

Je loue tres regulierement des voitures dans cette agence et tout sest toujours bien passé je nai jamais attendu plus de 15min pour récupérer les clés de la voiture (autant que chez les concurrents) je ne comprends donc pas les commentaires précédents,.. Jai peut etre eu de la chance! Pour rendre la voiture tout se fait tres simplement, et le personnel a toujours été tres gentil.
This rental went ok and I consider myself lucky. There were several others clients in their office complaining about the price. I had reserved online in advance, which was probably a good idea. The car was already with some scratches, which is completely normal in Portugal considering the less skilles drivers and narrow streets. The total price was close to the original estimate. I would be careful about returning the car during their siesta hours.

Rented a car from Avis in June. Booked for 1200, by the time we waited in queue and completed paper work very close to 1 pm by time we left. They rented us a Garmin GPS but when we drove off we realised the car already had one. Given we had already spent an hour waiting opted not to go back and query it at end. Told at end they may be able to adjust the price (they didnt at all). Emailed avis and basically told a contract is a contract. Hence avis has now lost a future customer and has this negative review. Poor customer service. My advice is look elsewhere.

We booked a car from this AVIS shop at sunnycars.de three times. Two times AVIS gave us a better car than we booked. Once we paid a small additional fee the other time not. The staff is very friendly and explains everything very patiently. We never had any problems. Everything went perfect. I guess you should come between 9 and 10 am. Later its getting very crowded fast.

Estuve una mala experiencia cuando alquile un coche y se me pincho la rueda en España a las 9 de la noche llame al nro del seguro que me dieron a otros que busque en Internet y jamas me respondieron estuve suerte de conocer buena gente que me ayudó a sacar la rueda (estuve casi 12 sin el coche porque las gomeria estaban cerrada ) y nunca se hicieron cargo el arreglo lo estuve que pagar yo !!

Very poor customer service. Staff wasnt clear neither professional. We rented a car and realised after 1h drive that the door was broken and couldnt lock at all. We tried to call the agency and the emergency number many time but no one replied... so finally had to drive back to Lisbon to ask for another car (they didnt proposed us) We also had to insit to get conpensation for the time lost and they were only able to offer a a voucher... Thanks but no thanks Avis.
A EVITER ! 1H15 dattente fin septembre, jimagine en juillet-aout ! Comptoir minuscule vu le nombre de client. Jai eu droit à une voiture non lavée à lextérieur et à lintérieur, le plein dessence était à la moitié alors que le contrat indiquait le plein. Refus de me fournir un autre véhicule car ils nen avaient plus... Aucun geste commercial proposé... La seule chose sensée quils mont : allez à laéroport ils vous la changeront, eux ils ont plus de voitures, nous nous nen avons plus !!! Ce que lon a fait : si vous avez le choix allez à AVIS de laéroport.
The prices stated in the internet change, if you really need to get a car here expect the insurance to be quite a bit more expensive than the price on the web. Terrible service
Denk twee keer na, voordat je besluit een auto in Lissabon te huren. En al helemaal op deze locatie: want het is een grote ramp naar mijn mening! Vooral vanwege het feit, dat deze verhuurlocatie van Avis onderbemand is. Er zijn namelijk maar twee medewerkers aanwezig, die alles moeten afhandelen. Dus van het papierwerk, tot het klaarzetten van de auto. Dit alles neemt makkelijk 1 uur beslag, eer je überhaupt weg bent gereden met de auto. En dan is er nog het feit, dat ze vaak niet de auto beschikbaar hebben die je geboekt hebt. In mijn geval, had ik een Renault Clio Benzine auto geboekt: maar ik kreeg een Ford Focus Diesel Stationwagen mee. Terwijl, ik juist een kleinere auto wilde omdat ik liever niet in grote autos rij. Daarnaast, vormt het verkeer binnen de stad van Lissabon een groot probleem. Wij wilde de auto namelijk persoonlijk afleveren, maar door file liepen wij ruim 30 minuten vertraging op. Dus ik kan een auto huren, in het hartje van Lissabon echt niet aanraden. Dus als je net als mij Sintra wilt bezoeken: doe jezelf een lol, pak de trein. Want in Sintra is het verkeer ook een grote ramp! Ik zou trouwens, wel gewoon het eigen risico afkopen: want 1300 is veel geld! Dan beter iets meer betalen, dan denken dat je voor 8 een huurauto rijdt.
Pleased with our visit, honest and no surprises. The attendant was very friendly too. Pick up process was about 40 minutes, but that seems to be normal everywhere nowadays.

We had a good experience with this AVIS station. Courteous staff. Not crawded at 10 a.m. It was no problem to change the pick up station one day before. AVIS even called us back after we didnt reached someone by phone. We rent a small car just for a 2 day trip at the coast. And received a free upgrade to a medium sized car (SEAT Leon station wagon). I would choose AVIS again

Never use Avis in Lisbon. Car broke down in the middle of the highway by no fault of our own. They assured us that this type of problem was because of the car and not our doing. Upon return to the states we were greeted with a HUGE repair bill. When we challenged the claim the Lisbon office denied they ever claimed responsibility and that the damage was only something that a car user could cause. Disgusting. Multiple staff members were rude to us which is so unlike the true portuguese culture.
