Great car / price and service!

Die Autovermietung CAEL ist nicht zu empfehlen. Meine Kaution von 2000 Euro wurde über mehr als 4 Wochen einbehalten! Zudem wurde 3 Monate nach der Mietwagenabgabe erneut ein Betrag abgebucht. Und das ohne jegliche Rechnungsstellung, oder Ankündigung. Das empfinde ich als absolut unseriös.

Wir haben im Sommer 2024 einen Kleinwagen (Citroen C1) für 8 Tage bei CAEL in der Rua Braamcamp gemietet. Der Wagen hatte einige kleinere Kratzer und Dellen, aber das störte uns nicht. Dafür war der Preis gut, das Auto lief absolut problemlos und verbrauchte auch sehr wenig Benzin. Das war uns wichtiger als die Optik und für zwei Personen reichte er auf alle Fälle aus. Wir haben über booking.com gebucht und eine zusätzliche Versicherung vorher abgeschlossen. Der Check bei der Rückgabe war schnell erledigt, über die zu zahlenden Mautgebühren bekam man eine genaue Auflistung, was ich sehr gut und transparent fand. Es wurden auch keine weiteren Forderungen gestellt. Die Kaution von 1500 Euro, die bei der Ausleihe von der Kreditkarte abgezogen wurde, landete dann aber erst einen Monat nach Rückgabe des Fahrzeugs und einer Mail an die Zentrale diesbezüglich wieder auf meinem Konto. Das war etwas komisch. Aber aufgrund der insgesamt guten Erfahrungen würde ich diese Autovermietung weiter empfehlen und auch selbst nochmal dort ein Auto mieten.

Agence de confiance. Nous avons payés une cinquentaine de dollars plus cher que chez les compétiteurs, mais cest facile de louer via DiscoverCar, pas de problème au retour de la voiture et il ny a pas de charges cachées.

The staff is kind and attentive, they will pick you up at the airport and take you to their office. The car was as booked, clean and in great condition. The return of the car was fast and stress free, and the staff drove us back to the airport.

Schon mehrmals (4) an verschiedenen Standorten bei Cael gemietet. Waren immer sehr zufrieden mit der Freundlichkeit der Mitarbeitenden und hatten auch gar nie Probleme. Wir können Cael nur empfehlen.

Il faut dire quand ça ne va pas mais aussi quand ça va ! Location au mois daout pour 10 jours agence centre ville. Trés bonne voiture avec peu de kilométrage, bien équipée et trés propre. Personnel pas très accueillant mais ne pose pas de soucis particulier. Ils nont pas essayer de nous vendre dautres services. Contact par email assez facile avant la location afin de préciser quelques détails. Comme beaucoup de personne problème avec le type de carte de paiement (doù 4 étoiles). Bien quayant une carte à débit différé, que jai faite exprés pour ne pas avoir de soucis, elle ne ma pas été accepté car il est écrit dessus carte de crédit (conformémment à la loi européenne et qui signifie être à débit différé et normalement censé faciliter les locations). Heureusement nous avions une autre carte mentionnant crédit/débit qui elle a été accepté alors quelle était à débit immédiat et qui normalement nest pas accepté par les agences de location mais comme il est inscrit dessus le mot débit cela a rassuré le personnel daccueil. Au final on ne sait pas quel type de carte ils veulent et mieux vaut partir avec 2 types de cartes différentes. Sans ce détail je recommande cette agence facile daccés en centre ville avec pas trop de monde.

Service exceptionnel, rapide , efficace, pas de zone dombres dans la procédure ni dans le prix, jai loué une voiture pour 16 jrs, une 208 neuve ( seulement 100km ) Comme tout les autres commentaires laissés sur les sites de location, jappréhendais de louer à Lisbonne, mais surprise , ils ont accepté sans discuter lassurance de Discovercars , le dépôt retourner après une inspection rapide, pas de recherche à la loupe sur les graffignes. Merci à vous !

Una stella perchè non posso dare di meno! Dopo aver effettuato il pagamento, ci siamo presentati al negozio, non abbiamo potuto prendere il veicolo perchè non avevamo una carta di credito fisicamente dietro, intestata a noi, e non andava bene neanche una carta intestata a genitori o parenti, fisicamente dietro. Abbiamo provato a cercare delle soluzioni, ma la risposta era sempre un no, e che in qualsiasi rent a car in Portogallo, non affittano le macchine senza una carta di credito. In poche parole, serve una carta di credito fisicamente lì, neanche in digitale, e altri tipi di carte o altro non sono accettate. Lasciati a piedi senza tanti problemi con tour del Portogallo da fare. Menomale c è Hertz dietro l angolo, che in 15 minuti, senza tanti problemi e molta disponibilità, ci ha fatto prenotare una macchina senza rovinarci il tour nelle spledide terre portoghesi. La parte più divertente? il rimborso incompleto, in quanto è stato un errore nostro non vedere i termini e condizioni prima di spuntare la casella (scritti in una dimensione da lente d ingrandimento e dentro i termini generali)

Alquilamos un cohce para ir a Setubal, y fue todo muy bien. Rápido, claro y sin letra pequeña. Es obligatorio presentar la tarjeta de crédito (incluso habiendo hecho la reserva on-line), en su web lo especifica claramente. Te obligan a usar el via verde, pero esta especificado tambén durante el contrato. El personal que nos atendió, fue realmente muy amable. Escogimos unas sillitas de niño, y con ellos estuvimos mirando si por edad eran las adecuadas o no. Si tengo que alquilar otra vez coche, seguro que lo haré aqui.

Très bon accueil, avec une grande amabilité. Honnête et répond à toutes les questions demandées, il ny a pas eu darnaques dans les explications au niveau des tarifs, il faut juste faire attention aux assurances quils veulent vous vendre (comme dans tous les loueurs) et avoir une carte de crédit et non de débit. Efficacité dans la remise du véhicule (administratif, chek-in). Nous avons loués la voiture pour deux semaines. Départ Lisbonne et remise à Faro. La voiture louée était neuve, avec peu de kilomètre, comportant le boîtier pour les péages automatiques. Une navette de transport vient vous chercher et vous ramène à laéroport ! Cest à 5min cest tout prêt Nous avons était très satisfait de lexpérience !

Leider beim Abgeben des Wagens nochmal um Geld geprellt, weil Sand vom Strand im Wagen war... Reinigungsgebühr. Das war ärgerlich und wurde zu Beginn auch nicht angesagt. Es hieß wir hätten vor Abgabe des Wagens (mit zwei Kindern wohlgemerkt) nochmal saugen müssen.

Mauvaise expérience pour ma part, déjà il y a une mauvaise explication des consignes, de plus le personnel est non chaleureux et hautain, sans oublier la caution de 1800 pour une voiture d entrée de gamme. Je ne recommande pas du tout cette agence de location.

Sehr gute lokale Autovermietungs Firma. Unser VW war sehr gepflegt, als wir ihn in Empfang nehmen durften. Die ganze Administration dauerte nur 5 Minuten, ohne eine Wartezeit. Man wollte auch nicht noch zusätzliche Versicherungen uns andrehen. Ein sehr speditiver Ablauf. Auch die Abgabe in der Nähe des Flughafens dauerte nur 2 Minuten und wir wurden danach direkt ans Terminal gefahren. Insgesamt waren wir sehr zufrieden mit Cael und würden bei einem nächsten Aufenthalt wieder Cael wählen. Unsere Erfahrung ist allgemein, dass der Service bei kleineren, lokalen Vermieterstationen viel besser ist als bei den grossen Playern. Der Chip für die gebührenpflichtigen Strassen war fix eingebaut im Auto und bei der Abgabe wurde es korrekt abgerechnet. Danke für den guten Service!

Agence de location sérieuse aux tarifs raisonnables. Nous avons réservé une voiture et c est bien le modèle exact qui nous a été remis. Voiture propre et bien entretenue. Il y a pas mal de Mercedes. Agence pas très connue, je la recommande en comparaison des grosses agences classiques et connues qui se font un peu plaisir sur les tarifs . Conseils: Bien réserver avec une carte de crédit et non de débit. Et pour plus de tranquillité, rachetez la franchise (sinon 2 500 ), une bonne assurance pour voyager tranquille

Saw a lot of mixed reviews online, but I found this rental company very easy to work with. I would definitely use them again. Very central location for drop off and pick up.

We huurden een volkswagen grand tourer omdat we met 6 volwassenen reisden en bagage. Met de tourer zou zeker lukken. We kregen een seat alhambra. Dat wordt heel krap zitten op de kleine zitjes achter met onze bagage erbij. Maar cael zegt zelfde categorie. De grand tourer is dus een lokkertje op de site. Deposit evenwel 4000 euro. Erg onbetrouwbaar dus.

Tolle und vorallem ehrliche Autovermietung. Wir haben über MietwagenCheck gebucht inkl. Versicherung über MietwagenCheck. Es wurde zwar kurz nachgefragt, ob wir eine weitere Versicherung wollen uns aber keine aufgeschwatzt. (man muss aber 2500 Kaution hinterlegen, was aber vor der Buchung klar ersichtlich war). Die Abholung vom Flughafen hat gut funktioniert, der Wagen war noch recht neu und die Abholung und Rückgabe unkompliziert. Gerne wieder, habe schon ganz andere Autovermietungen erlebt.

A FUIR ! Nous partageons la même expérience que Carmen...je vois que cest répétitif et très malhonnête. Nous étions là avec nos 4 enfants après un long voyage sans solution. Cest un scandale. Nous nen resterons pas là. Nous avons proposé 2 cartes de paiement avec solde suffisant et la grande excuse était que nous navions pas 3 mois de validité avant la date dexpiration. Le tout dans un contact glacial.

Easy, quick and painless experience. I booked online which was simple and clear. The staff at this location are efficient, clear and courteous (English spoken). The car was clean and well maintained. The location is close to the big highways, so its perfect for driving right out of Lisbon to start your journey.

Agence de location sérieuse. Nous avons dû les appeler une fois arrivés à laéroport de Lisbonne car personne ne nous y attendait. Arrivée rapide du petit bus de Cael. Ils nous ont conduit dans un local à quelques minutes pour récupérer le véhicule. Véhicule très propre et en parfait état de marche. Ayant pris toutes les assurances supplémentaires, nous navons eu aucun soucis pour rendre la voiture. Pas détat des lieux. Néanmoins, lors du retour, nous avons eu quelques difficultés dans le trafic de Lisbonne et navons pas eu le temps de faire le niveau dessence (il manquait 1/4 du plein demandé). La personne nous a fait payer 45 ! Pour faire 1/4 du réservoir pour une Opel Corsa cest un peu abusé...

Excellent experience. The car was great - there was one minor scrape that I pointed out when picking it up. I refused the extra insurance and was surprised at the amount of the damage deposit hold they required on my credit card ($2,000). No incidents on the road, so they promptly canceled the hold on return of the vehicle. It took almost a week for my credit card issuer to remove the hold. During that week, I inquired about the cancellation with CAEL and they responded quickly to provide the evidence of the cancellation. The delay was all on my credit card issuer.

Location d un Cupra Formentor pour 5 jours, c était juste parfait Pour info pour les étrangers qui ont peur des arnaques ou autres( retour de commentaires sur d autres loueurs lisboetes) je vous conseille de prendre la formule full assurance ça vous évitera tous les ennuis ! Après avoir cherché pendant plusieurs jours sur les sites Sixt et Cie j ai pu trouver ce site et c est sûr à 100% que si nous revenons un jour au Portugal je repasserais les yeux fermés par Cael !

That s the best car rental in Lisbon! After a giant queue and terrible service in Hertz and Sixt even after reservation we tried to go to a local car rental and we weren t disappointed. The owner is wonderful man, prices are better that in other places and the car condition was pretty good too! 100% recommendation!

Reservé (y pagué) un coche con una tarjeta de débito. Viajamos a Lisboa, llegamos a recogerlo y no nos dieron el coche porque pagué con la tarjeta de débito. Le ofrecí la de crédito a través de mi banca electrónica... ¡pero tampoco!, nos dijeron que sólo podía ser con tarjeta física (política de empresa). No nos dan ninguna opción. Nos quedamos tirados con dos niños pequeños de 7 y 10 años en la calle... ¡¡y el coche estaba pagado!! Giramos la esquina de la calle desesperados, probamos en otro rent a car... y nos dieron la solución al segundo con la de débito (con una solución OBVIA para garantizar la garantía con la de débito). Elegimos CAEL por sus reseñas positivas. Es justo ahora que los futuros clientes conozcan esa práctica abusiva y trato con el cliente. No nos dieron ninguna solución y se quedaron con nuestro dinero. Nos dejasteis tirados en la calle sin coche y habiéndolo pagado. Quien lea esta reseña que se prepare con las políticas abusivas de esta empresa.

Servicio paupérrimo, no recomendable.

Presencié cómo dejaron tirados sin coche a una familia con 2 niños pequeños por no tener una tarjeta de crédito, habiendo pagado ya el servicio online con antelación. El cliente intentó por todos los medios dar una solucion, dejando una tarjeta de débito, dar una fianza en efectivo... pero se le negó. No les devolvieron el dinero de la reserva, y se quedaron sin coche. Pagaron por un servicio que nunca disfrutaron. Me pareció una situación muy poco profesional.

Awful experience with this CAEL office! They didn t gave me the car I reserved because they didn t accept credit card, only debit card accepted, they said. Plus, no refund since I paid less than 60 for 1 day rent This was the most disappointing experience in Portugal.

I had an easy time picking up a car rental here at CAEL. Bruno was very helpful, he showed me everything I needed to know about the car. Never having driven in Portugal or a European car, I appreciate the time he took to inform me how the toll roads work , educating me on the gasoline I should use and how to use the gear shift for an automatic. The CAEL on Braamcamp was a convenient location to get on the motorway and out of the city and the drop off was easy as well. I would absolutely rent a car from here again!

Not sure how to write this review. I rented from this company with no issue at all. Second time I took the car I got stuck on the highway with no windshield fluid when I need it. Had trouble driving to the gas station as I got few big bugs and my windshield was just so dirty and there was no fluid at all. Imagine you take a car with 3/8 of the gas tank that you need to return it the same and with no fluid when you need it. I filed windshield fluid and continued my trip. Problem started when I returned the car. I told a guy that I bought out of my own packet the windshield fluid and he started laughing and telling me they don t use that. They just put plain water. Told him I had no idea. And he told me very arrogantly it s not their problem, I should ve call the company. I could not believe how arrogant he was. He continued arguing with me over a 12 euros. Told him don t worry it s on me at least now next renter will have a full tank of fluid. And yes I took a car only for a day. Anyway Take this review as you want I really don t have any issue with the company but only this unprofessional employee who laughed at me that I put a real windshield fluid

Apesar do alto valor de franquia (1.800 euros), o atendimento e o serviço foi excelente. Temos que priorizar locadoras sérias e que não tratem os clientes como reféns.

Easy to book online, they need up to 24h to confirm your booking. You can also rent a car quick if available - just walk in. Had nice car for 2 days. No problem, no issues. With full insurance option there is no deposit. You will need present credit card on your name but there is no money secured at this moment. They need it for tickets and quick gates on motorway if you wish to use them. Second driver, baby seat or tyres/windows option available. Definitely recommend as weve checked same car with Europcar and the price was almost double.

Bonme expérience, personnel gentil et serviable, la voiture recent et en bonnes conditions, bien propre. Lassurance franchise 0 assez chers pour 3 jours, plus cher que la location. Un suplement de 30 euros de plus pour rendre la voiture plus tôt/ tard que lhoraire douverture...Dispositive pour les telepéages est devenu obligatoire, selon la personne qui ma fourni le contrat de location.

Easy to book online. Price was very competitive with other well known companies. Communication was good through e-mail. Upon landing at Lisbon Airport, I called the provided telephone number and within minutes, a CAEL staff member arrived in a van and drive my family to their facility. Check-in was painless and we were not bombarded with sales pitches for extras. The vehicle was a brand new Mercedes which gave us peace of mind as we drove up and down Portugal during our two week trip. It was obviously very clean and flawless. All in all a very pleasant experience and I would recommend this company to everyone.

Got lied to and treated very very unkindly. Got told over the phone it is possible to rent without credit card and that they have cars ready to rent. When I got there I got ignored for 40 minutes and then they told me to go away. Very clear the people there think they are more important than they actually are.

Easy to work with, very accommodating (vehicle booked was too small & they had larger options available). Only downside is the limited on-site parking.

NIGHTMARE SCENARIO. BEWARE OF FRAUD! CAEL booked through Discover Cars. They are nice people and fairly responsive, but it ended with a nightmare scenario. I arrived at 6 am with 2 and 6 year old kids to drop the car before our morning flight. Car was dusty with a small amount of sand on floors and in trunk. A US rental agency would not blink. The woman says she needs to clean the car to assess damage before she will give us a ride to airport. I say OK and sign the paperwork, trusting her that things are OK. She charges me $400 for a quick cleaning and a scratch on the hubcap. DO NOT TRUST THESE PEOPLE.

Very dishonest. I was charged over 300 Euros for cleaning and scratch on bumper. Car was hardly dirty. needed a standard carwash and vacuum. Small scratch on bumper. They nailed me for 350 Euros, including a $150 Euro cleaning fee. Absolute bandits!

Scam

Walked in to book a last minute car for road trip to Lagos. Pedro Anjos assisted me during the booking and it was a smooth one! I had no deposit to pay with renting a Merc A200 in full coverage, totally worry free upon return. Only need to put your card for Toll. Initially was so worried to rent a car after reading multiple car companies bad reviews, however CAEL is a trustworthy company and I had a wonderful experience with them!

Stole 342 from us for something they said we lost but we didnt! They charged us without notifying us and had a terrible customer service.

Meilleure expérience de location de véhicule de ma vie. Aucune surprise, tout est très clair dès le début jusqu à la fin. Aucune escroquerie comme beaucoup font. Chez CAEL, j ai payé pour 3 jours de location une Fiat 500 décapotable hybrid avec moi s de 5000km pour 200 assurance 100% comprise. Cela change beaucoup des autres loueurs à Lisbonne qui vous prennent une caution de +1000 ou alors vous font payer des suppléments en fin de location. Je recommande fortement. Vous pouvez y aller les yeux fermés.

À FUIR ! Nous avons eu une tres mauvaise expérience avec cette agence. Nous n avons pas pu récupérer notre voiture en présentant la carte bancaire avec laquelle nous avons effectué la réservation (qui n a jamais posé problème pour louer une voiture) car il s agissait d une carte de débit et non pas crédit. La personne n a pas du tout voulu nous aider ni essayer de trouver une solution. Nous avons essayé de contacter le service client, personne ne répondait au téléphone. On vient de nous dire que nous ne pourrons pas être remboursés. Je déconseille vivement cet endroit !

One of the nicest experiences I ever had with a car rental company. No fishy stuff, clean and easy. The guy was also nice enough to provide me with a phone holder as my phone didnt want to connect to the car.

Keine Touristenfalle, die Vertragsdetails (Maut, ,Vollkasko, Sprit) wurden im voraus voll umfänglich erläutert. Die Betreuung vor Ort war äußerst angenehm. Preislich auch völlig in Ordnung (smart circa 50 pro Tag). Vorschlag zur Verbesserung: online können Autos nur 24 Stunden im Voraus gebucht werden, so dass eine spontane Buchung am selben Tag nur vor Ort möglich ist. Dies könnte zu einer ,,In-Time Buchungsmaßnahme geändert werden. Ja

Rented from this company almost 2 years ago. When I purchased the rental, I chose to also purchase the toll pass which meant I didnt have to pay for each toll out of pocket. It was in my agreement. Cael assured me they would cover the tolls since I purchased the pass. Fast forward almost 2 years later I am now receiving a fine in the mail for $120 for not paying for tolls!!! This is completely ridiculous and I wish they would get back to me about this.

Good Car Rental. No upselling and deposit returned easily. Price a little higher than competition but seems pretty trustworthy so would recommend.

Paid for a rental in advance but unable to pickup for lack of a credit card. No alternative options, such as with holding on a debit as most places do nowadays. Poor communication (cant find where this was mentioned) about this in the emails prior. Now left without a car for our trip. Disappointing. TBD whether a refund will be issued.

We were delighted with the the friendliness and professionalism of the service we received. The car was brand new and considerably cheaper than the major car hire companies. Initially I was concerned about the depot being off the airport unlike the other car hire companies. But Cael were extremely efficient in collecting us. I will definitely use them again.

Absolut unkompliziert und schnell. Ohne Vorbestellung, nach 15min mit einem kleinen, quasi neuen Mercedes, für günstiges Geld, wieder rausgefahren. Auch Retoure war in 5min. erledigt. Kann ich sehr empfehlen.

Sehr angenehme Autovermietung mitten in der Stadt. Schnelle und unkomplizierte Über- und Rückgabe. Würde wieder direkt hier buchen. Auto tadellos. Waren sogar so nett auf unsere Taschen aufzupassen während wir nochmals in die Stadt spaziert sind. Haben auch eine Kundentoilette.

De vrais escrocs! En raison d un retard de vol (EasyJet) et alors qu ils vous laissent attendre 25 minutes à l aéroport, ils se permettent une surtaxe, car je suis arrivé quelques minutes après leurs horaires d ouverture. Quand on demande un remboursement, ils disent qu il faut passer par l opérateur (EasyJet car). Ce dernier répond que les conditions générales ne permettent pas de remboursement. Cael le savait très bien. Du coup, ils empochent 5 jours de location, sans que j ai pris la voiture, alors que leur comportement est absolument détestable avec les clients.

Agence très professionnelle, nous avons rapidement récupéré notre voiture. Elle était parfaitement propre et conforme à la description Gros avantage : il ny a eu aucun souci pour payer avec notre carte de débit. De nombreux autres loueurs de voiture au portugal exigent une carte de crédit, ce qui peut être à lorigine de mauvaises surprises pour des français. La dame qui nous a prise en charge parlait très bien français. En cas de problème, lagence est très réactive et propose des solutions. Vous avez la possibilité de prendre une assurance a 75 euros qui couvre tous les dommages et vous dispense de bloquer la franchise sur votre carte bleue. Le retour du véhicule na posé aucun problème et nous avons été conduits en minibus à laéroport. En résumé une agence professionnelle, réactive, et surtout sans mauvaises surprises, on ne cherche pas à vous appliquer des dizaines de frais supplémentaires inutiles.

Nette auto en vriendelijk personeel bij het ophalen van de auto. Echter, bij het retourneren is alle vriendelijkheid niet meer te bekennen en wacht je een zeer chagrijnige dame. Bij het ophalen van de auto werd er vermeld dat iets later inleveren geen probleem was, maar bij het terugbrengen werd er direct een hele dag in rekening gebracht omdat we enkele minuten te laat waren. Houd je dus strikt aan de afspraken mocht je hier een auto huren, maar een beter advies zou zijn om bij een fatsoenlijke maatschappij je auto te huren.

Abbiamo noleggiato una Seat Ibiza per una settimana, sono gentili e disponibili. Lauto pulita in ottime condizioni e col pieno. Dopo 4 gg abbiamo beccato un marciapiede, si è tagliata una gomma, abbiamo montato la ruota di scorta e in agenzia ci hanno dato unaltra Ibiza uguale senza fare problemi. Complimenti..

Après une très mauvaise expérience chez Turist Prime, on sest orientée chez CAEL grâce aux commentaires et notes Google, quelle bonne surprise ! Récupération de la voiture niquel, la voiture était conforme à notre choix, elle était propre... et quasi neuve ! Parreil aucun soucis pour rendre le véhicule alors que nous avions fait plus de 1600Km avec. Le véhicule a été regardée normalement sans exagération de la part de la compagnie. Un service de transfert Aéroport - CAEL est disponible et gratuit ( il faut juste penser à appeler ) ! Je recommande +++

CAEL is the only car rent company Id consider from now on in Portugal. As said by others - service is fast, cars are excellent, prices are honest and the experience has been hassle free, even got tips for my trip. Took their time to take care of an item I forgot in the car which is rare.

Ils parlent anglais et portugais. Remboursement de la caution en moins de 36h. Aucun problème sur le véhicule. Vous devez rendre le véhicule au même niveau dessence quà la récupération.

Très mauvaise expérience chez CAEL. Je DECONSEILLE VIVEMENT. 1/ mécanique douteuse malgré la propreté apparente de la voiture (train avant flottant) 2/ facturation supplémentaire de 177 euros pour une rayure sous la jupe avant de la voiture, avec un état des lieux contradictoire très rapide et approximatif à la prise du véhicule. Conseil: prendre des photos et vidéos soi même à la prise du véhicule, et sous tous les angles.

Prima service voor een prima prijs. In vergelijking met de meer gekende verhuurbedrijven was de prijs heel scherp. De auto was zo goed als nieuw & proper. Het inleveren ging heel vlot en binnen het kwartier stonden we met de shuttlebus terug op de luchthaven. Een aanrader.

Just gave our car back after 8 days of renting, picked it up at Lisbon Airport and brought it back at Braankamp Lisbon, it was amazing! Got a better car than we booked because it was available, new Ford Puma from 2020, 8000km, smooth as a glider. 11,50 extra for insurance per day, no deposit therefore, paid with PayPal, which was really comfortable. No problems at return. Friendly staff, took time to explain me everything about portuguese roads. Would recommend 10/10!

Jétais très méfiante dans ma recherche de location de voiture sur Lisbonne suite à la lecture davis souvent effrayants sur les loueurs. Jai choisi CAEL qui sest avéré excellent. DiscoverCars ma contacté après ma réservation pour préciser quelques points et éviter tout désagrément à larrivée ce que jai beaucoup apprécié. Sur le site DiscoverCars, il était précisé que le loueur offrait un service daccueil à laéroport pour nous emmener récupérer la voiture à lagence. A réception de la confirmation de réservation, il apparaissait que nous devions par nos propres moyens nous rendre à lagence de location. Soyez donc attentif ! Grace à lappel de DiscoverCars où nous avons pu évoquer ce point, jai envoyé une capture décran prouvant que le service accueil était prévu et ils se sont arrangés avec CAEL qui ont accepté de venir nous chercher et nous ramener à laéroport gratuitement. La qualité du service de CAEL sest avérée excellente: personnel très aimable, efficace et de bon conseil. Contrairement à ce que lon peut lire pour de nombreux loueurs, CAEL na pas essayé de nous vendre des assurances complémentaires et a été réglo au retour du véhicule sans chercher une petite rayure qui leur aurait permis de garder notre caution.

La location sest réalisée comme prévu. Aucune mauvaise surprise. Equipe très accueillante et agréable. Je reviendrai au Portugal et je louerai de nou eau une voiture chez CAEL braampcamp. Merci!

Pas de tour de magie consistant à vous facturer des services ou assurances superflus, contrairement à la plupart des autres loueurs. Fourniture de véhicules propres, peu kilométrés, et en bon état. Mais le plus important est ce qui suit : chez CAEL, lors de la restitution du véhicule, on ne vous invente pas des rayures ou sinistres fantaisistes, contrairement à la plupart des autres loueurs qui nhésitent pas à vous facturer honteusement des dommages que vous navez pas commis. So you know how it is, all the horror stories you hear about car hire firms, trying to rip you off. Cael at Faro is not like that. They are relaxed, easy to deal with and reasonable. I would happily use them again. They are trying to be different. I hope they succeed.

The car we rented was an automatic Mercedes A180. It had many options, was very clean and comfortable. The car was ready when we arrived and we didnt have to wait either to pick it up or return it. The staff was very friendly. The only minor drawback is that we need to be picked up from the airport as the agency is 5 minutes away by car, so I would recommend to call them as soon as you get your luggage.

Não recomendo. Aluguei um carro durante 15 dias durante uma viagem por Portugal. Quando cheguei, me deram um carro similar dentro da categoria. Mas o carro era muito pequeno para minhas bagagens. Eu não gostei da postura do atendente, em tentar ajudar na troca do carro por um maior. Ele não demonstrou nenhuma atitude positiva. Muito diferente da locadora europcar, que na época que aluguei na Itália. Não tinha o carro que eu tinha alugado, me ofereceram um carro muito melhor pelo mesmo preço.

Im quite ambivalent regarding this review and Il explain why. The good things: Car (Citroen C3) was new (1500KM) and clean. The representative had very good English. Taking and returning the car was quick. The representative was patient and answered everything I asked about the car (Last time I drove a manual gear was 20 years ago). The bad thing: I made an order and payment over the Internet few weeks prior to arriving to the agency. Before doing the payment, I asked CAEL sales department weather the car will have a Via Verde device installed. The reply I got was all our cars come with Via Verde device. Having this reply I made the payment and rented a car. When I came to pick up the car, there was no Via Verde installed in the car. I asked the representative about it and his answer was The car doesnt have Via Verde and you have to pay tolls at the toll booth. I had to argue with the representative and show him the message I got regarding Via Verde from their sales. Only then he went to a closet, took a device out of it and attached it to the car. I dont know why I had to argue. You pay the agency 1.5 euro + vat for renting the device. (and the toll fees of course when you return the car). I wasnt expecting to argue on this issue. Moreover, if I was told in advance that the device isnt available, I wouldnt order from CAEL in the first place. It was mandatory for me. For those of you who arent familiar with toll roads in Portugal, here is a quick explanation about the device. Via Verde device enables you to use the toll roads without waiting in line (which can be quite long) before and after you enter the toll road in order to do the payment manually. There are dedicated lines in which you dont need to stop, just lower your speed so the device can be contacted. The device records your points of entrance and exit and charges your credit card directly or the car rent agency for rented cars. Moreover, some toll roads dont have the ability to pay manually. You have to pay your toll at the post office. Not something you want to do as a tourist.

Noleggio velocissimo, mi ha dato una citroen c3 pratic nuova. Ovviamente ho noleggiato con copertura extra totale per evitare soprese ( lo consiglio a tutti). Ho guidato fino all Algarve. Raccomando a tutti che nel caso in cui si passi in alcuni tratti di autostrada o superstrada a pagamento, tramite fotografia alla targa, di non preoccuparsi. Allaereoprto, basta recarsi nell ufficio postale ( zona partenze) e comunicare dettagli targa per pagare il dovuto ed evitare possibile multe.

Após ler muitos comentários negativos sobre as várias empresas de aluguer de carro em Lisboa, escolhi a CAEL pois era a que tinha maior pontuação e melhores reviews. Não poderia ter escolhido melhor! Desde a reserva online, do levantamento do veículo até a entrega, tudo foi perfeito. Carro espaçoso, confortável e super econômico deu conta de levar uma família de 04 adultos com 04 malas grandes sem problemas. O levantamento no escritório da CAEL em Lisboa foi rápido, em 10min já estávamos na estrada. A entrega do veículo no Porto também foi rápida e sem problemas. Gostaria de agradecer a toda equipe da CAEL pelo profissionalismo, simpatia e seriedade. Super recomendo!

We have used Cael many times with great success! This time however, we were met with a rude man that told me immediately he had to charge me another day and that we were late. We had been told different information in person when we picked up the car as to what time the car had to be back and given the wrong contract with the wrong time on it. This man was aggressively yelling at me and asking if I could read. As a women that seems inappropriate to have a man yelling at me because of a simple miscommunication. Really unacceptable to be treated that way no matter what the circumstance as a paying customer. We really loved Cael in the past but we won t ever use them again and I wouldn t recommend - as you don t want to wrap up a wonderful time being yelled at by a car rental company and treated like you are stupid and can t read. It was an awful experience.

Excellent service!!! We arrived in front of the office without any arrangement or reservation in 9:15 and in 9:30 we we already in the car on our way for the day trip. All the paperwork and payment was done in few minutes, the girl on the front desk was really kind and helpful, she gave us info and recommendations. We got a brand new Renault Clio (1200km) for a day with full insurance for 40euro. From what i saw their whole carpark is great and all of the cars are pretty new. I would totally recommend them and book with them again. Thanks!

Very good rent a car experience. The whole process lasted for 15 minutes and at the end we got a brand new car with 0 mileage.

Alles netjes geregeld door vriendelijk personeel. Geen opdringerige verzekeringen (al vooraf geregeld in Nederland) en een zeer nette auto. Je ontmoet ze op het vliegveld en een shuttlebus brengt je in een paar minuten naar de locatie met de autos. Gewoon goede, nette en vriendelijke service. Geen verborgen schade o.i.d.

I rented a car for one week with pick-up in central Lisboa and return at the airport. I got a almost new Mercedes Bendz so very happy with the car. Pick-up was smooth and service nice. Upon return I just looked at my rental contract which said Lisboa airport, so I drove to the general drop-off place at the airport where the big companies are. After a lot of confusion and a few telephone calls it turns out that CAEL office at the aiport lies some ks from the airport. They usually provide info upon pick-up but had forgotten to tell me (maybe I shouldve looked it up myself also...). The thing that pulls 2 stars off the review is the fact that they charged my credit card for road tolls, one month after returning the car, without notifying me in advance. They had not communicated before that such charges could occur since we settled everything with the tolls at drop-off. Im sure the tolls are correct but I really advice the company to notify customers BEFORE they charge there card with an unexpected cost.

A grown up car rental agency. Rental August 2018, 7 days. Car was brand new with 70km on the clock. They didnt query my decision to source my own CDW. The returns process was unfussy, and they went out of their way to make it simple for me to settle a parking ticket without it impacting on the rental agreement. Im fed up of shoddy car hire agencies. The central Lisbon location is convenient, without the hassle of finding airport terminal carparks etc on your return, trust me Ive rented maybe 40+ times in total, always from Lisbon airport but this worked better for me and we will be using this company in future. Professional and courteous and Im happy to recommend CAEL.

Used this company when we did a road trip arrive Portugal. They were courteous, friendly and we had no issues. They meet us at the airport, a little late, but we hadnt given flight times so that was ok. They took is us minibus to collect the car. It was a Corsa, quite new, and fine for our needs. We had our own CDW. The full up policy was explained, we checked the car together for marks, and took a tolls charge monitor. The lady plugged the return address into the sat nav, and there were no issues when we brought the car back. We paid the tolls and were then dropped off at the airport by a friendly young lady. A good experience all round. I would recommend.

Super compagnie de location. Nous avons attendu environ 5 minutes a larrivé et 15 minutes après nous étions sur notre départ avec la voiture. Nissan Micra 20000km, comme neuve, avec le gps intégré! Tout etait si simple. Nous avons pris le toll road pour les poste de péages. Cela nous a permis de payer a Cael le montant due au retour du voyage. Ils nont pas essayé de faire de ventes, etc. Retour de la voiture, cela a pris environ 10 minutes max :) aucun soucis, quelle belle expérience! Je recommande!

Friendly service and no problems

Great experience of renting a car with CAEL. Check-in took about 15 minutes without prior reservation. Check-out about 2 minutes. The car was brand new, just rolled out of the shop. And the rest of auto park seems to be in great condition. Prices are reasonable for such service. Definitely recommended rental!

its a good service in general but.. if they offer you the BMW, you have to triple insist if they have another car. In the end I got the Megane for 70% of the price for the BMW. They made me sign a paper which said I was receiving the car with no visible damages, but the car was not there. I said I have a problem with that, to which they replied but its covered by insurance. I signed but also wrote I havent seen the car when I sign this document - they made me and the guy started being aggressive. Nevertheless I got the car - almost new, clean, no damage lol, no issues.

Tout simplement PARFAIT ! Très vite pris en charge, nous avons eu la voiture en 15 min : une Peugeot 208 neuve avec GPS intégré 300km au compteur ! Le personnel est accueillant et ne force pas la vente dassurance. Nous avons pris le système de télépéage pour plus de liberté. Au vu des commentaires sur les locations à laéroport, je recommande vivement CAEL !! Merci CAEL, ne changez rien !

Après avoir regardé les avis sur internet concernant les locations de voiture à Lisbonne, nous nétions pas rassurés. CAEL semblait être la meilleure option. Et en effet, laccueil est excellent, la prise de contact également. Pour louer une voiture à laéroport, le RDV se fait au checkpoint du hall darrivée. Un chauffeur CAEL vous y attend pour vous emmener au garage situé à côté de laéroport (5 minutes de navette). Ici vous serez pris en charge par léquipe. La voiture louée était une Nissan Micra neuve et entièrement équipée. La remise de la voiture en fin de location fût également très simple et rapide ! A recommander les yeux fermés !

Friday around 11 am, we did rent budget car - Seat Ibiza (almost new!) for 40 for one day, we returned the same evening. The paper work took just 10 minutes. Without any problems, very nice staff. Practical, fast and easy. Highly reccomend !!
