I had a bad experience with this rental company. When I returned the car, they accused me of minor scratches on the alloy rim and charged my entire deposit, which was the cost of replacing the whole rim. The scratches didn’t look new, so I wonder if this is something the staff does regularly. I reached out to customer support on January 6th, but no response yet. Funny enough, they reply to reviews quickly, but ignore direct inquiries. Their prices and fleet are good, but their service feels like a scam. If anyone else rented a Jeep Avenger and was charged for a scratched rim, let me know in the comments.
I wish I could give a zero… You blatantly downgraded the car I rented, applied scare tactics to get me to buy your insurance, diminishing my arrangements with expedia. Gave me a smaller car and with 1/8 of a tank gas. Causing me to immediately purchase gasoline as I had to drive to Porto. The worst was after returning the car. I had to fill the gas to the same level at pick up and there's no easy way to gauge correctly. And then, your staff had the audacity to tell me the tank was not full without even looking at the pick up slip indicating it was picked up at 1/8 of a tank. As he acknowledged that the car was returned with more than double the amount of gas (more than 1/4), and told me everything was all good, your office proceeded by charging me the refueling surcharges and the cost of the fuel at premium. What more can I say? The whole experience has been very disappointing and you are definitely trying to take advantage of any money grabbing opportunities you can get your hands on. Your customer service is not better as they are not able to resolve when I called. Asking me to wait and deal with the matter via email. Very inefficient. Wouldn’t it be better if all this were finalized when I dropped off the car? You’re inefficiencies are quiet jarring, and very offensive. Even your forms to ask for support failed to work. I will never recommend anyone to rent from your station and we’ll do everything I can to deter anyone from renting from Europcar. PS: what kind of business cannot provide return receipt? Your manager at the station I rented the car from was grossly incompetent and refused to speak with me and try to simply pass the message to the staff while he was actually only a mirror 10 feet from me. PS2: The car you gave me was already involved in quite a lot of incidents as evidenced in the photos attached. I am willing to bet that you have collected or somewhat persuade the other drivers to get it fixed. But why are you giving me not only a downscaled car and a rather banged up one? Also, a crossover is not a midsize SUV. The latter has bigger space and taller chassis. PS3: Photo added showing gasoline tank level at pick up and at drop off, clearly showing it was picked up at 1/8 and returned at over 1/4. Spoke with their customer rep (Nuno) who was provided with the same picture but still couldn’t resolve the issue. And their online support form? Doesn’t work!!! As soon as you click submit, it errors out and everything you write, gone! Either very maliciously or incompetently designed.
Easy pickup. Nelson was thorough and made the process very easy. We declined all add ons and paid a deposit. Only negative was that we were told the car came with a full tank of gas (showed full at pickup), but a few blocks away, the gas was down 1/8 on the dash.
Overpay (we came 20 minute's late which Eurpcar wants 1 day full rent for - unacceptable !!!!) and non-functioning windshield wiper system. We will fight this ancient recommended this behavior from Europcar = we tried to say "ok we were 20 minutes late but you delivered a vehicle that had problems". Europcar could not accept this and no reduction (so far) for the problem with the vehicle on the rain.
The whole experience of renting a car with Europcar was delightful. I had uploaded all the documents online when booking the car, so at pickup, I only needed to sign the papers. Both times, at pickup and return, the Europcar staff spoke perfect English, which was really helpful. I'd highly recommend to pay a little bit extra for zero excess car insurance which saves nerves and a lot of time for yourself and the Europcar staff even though the driving experience in Lisbon is smooth and safe. Needless to mention that the car was new and in perfect condition. A huge plus was out of box availability of Android Auto which streamlined the jorney.
I had a terrible experience. Despite returning the vehicle with a full tank, they still charged me for fuel. On top of that, they added a 100-euro fee for upgrades that were never mentioned during the rental process. I’ve sent numerous emails to their support team about the invoice issues, but haven’t received any response. BEWARE! Be cautious about blocking your card for the security deposit—they will deduct money without explaining the charges.
Great experience renting from Europcar. After hearing horror stories about various car rental agencies and experiences in Portugal I was a little apprehensive, but everything was easy, quick and hassle free. Service was fast and friendly at pick up location downtown and dropping off at the airport was equally quick and easy. Our little Fiat was perfect for Portugal's winding narrow streets and challenging parking. Will rent from them again and highly recommend.
First suggestion for the readers is to please book your car in advance and online because at the counter the prices will be way too high. So we rented a toyota but we didnt get that rather we got a similar option which was a kia. It was comfortable, we paid 80 euros for full coverage insurance, more or less we ended up spending 300 including petrol, insurance, security deposit plus tolls on the highway. Do not rent if you are staying within lisbon city as driving here can be bit complicated. Overall it was a good experience.

Car was clean And they went over the whole car to see if there s any scratches or dents and they marked them, it just what I requested. Service was great. They spoke English very helpful.
I am very satisfied with Europcar at this station. After got rid of problematic Drive on Holiday at the airport, I rebooked a car here through Booking.com. Manuella at the counter provided excellent service, and the process was quick within 10 minutes, I had the keys, and 20 minutes later, I was on the road to Algarve. The only question I have now is about potential toll charges. Since there were no issues with the car when returning, but I assume these tolls will be deducted from my deposit. However, it has been a week, and I haven t received any updates.

Terrible experience. Initially, the costs mentioned didnt align with the documents, and hidden fees were not disclosed. They charged for petrol despite the tank being full upon return. Customer support is nonexistent; emails and calls go unanswered. Weeks after settling, an unexpected 80 charge appeared on my card, which I had used for the security deposit. Be cautious about using a card for security deposits. Also, I agree with other comments, book online, prices of offline are very very high its like 3X. Adding comments after Europcar added their comments: I used below link multiple times to send my concern to the team, not a single response, highly unprofessional.

Kannattaa ottaa erittäin hyvät kuvat eri kulmista, koska muuten he huijjaavat. Otin videon ennen vuokrausta ja kuvan vuokrauksen jälkeen. Kummassakaan ei näy naarmua. Tietyssä kulmassa naarmu tulee näkyviin ja siitä he veloittivat yli 300 . Ennen vuokrausta eivät huomanneet yhtään naarmua, ennen kuin sa oin niistä. Vuokrauksen jälkeen tarkistivat paikat valon kanssa. Luotin Europcar yritykseen aivan liikaa. Koskaan aiemmin vuokratessani autoa en ole kokenut vastaavaa.

très bonne expérience à Lisbonne. Mais tj les mêmes soucis : On ne recoit pas le véhicule désiré. Il était présent et a été donné a un client précedent alors que lon était à lheure dans la file dattente. autre soucis récurent, une fois le véhicule recu on est chassé du lieu. On a pas le temps de shabituer au véhicule ni au gps. On doit se jeter dans la circulation (ici Lisbonne) sans savoir ou aller. Mais aussi non véhicule impeccable et dépose à laéroport impeccable.
Be careful, the tour of the vehicle was not done at the start, and it is dark... But hey with high-end insurance it works, but its expensive...

Eu assinei um documento ao retornar o carro com informação sobre o tanque estar completo e recebi um outro documento, dizendo que faltavam 6 litros de gasolina, com uma assinatura que não era minha. Um absurdo! E ninguém do serviço cliente me respondeu. Ladrões de galinha, pois para roubar 12 euros, sinceramente, ridículo. Perderam uma cliente!

Rented a car online directly from europecar. We came from North America and scheduled a pickup time. When we arrived, car was not ready. When they finished cleaning the return they brought it out and the front bumper was falling off. I had chosen a full sized sedan for my family of four (Passat or equivalent) while touring Portugal for 3 weeks. They upgraded us to a Ford escape (called a Kuga in Europe) with 67,000kms and a lot of wear and tear. It worked out okay, but was car was a piece of **** hunting for gears all the time on the hilly streets. I had requested a manual originally, but they provided an automatic. I hate the or equivalent nonsense as it leaves the interpretation of what a decent car is up to the person at the desk. In the end, it was an okay experience, just okay.

Très déçu par le service client dEuropcar Portugal Je suis extrêmement déçu par le service client dEuropcar Portugal. Jai été impliqué dans un accident avec un véhicule de location le 24 avril 2024, et malgré avoir soumis tous les documents nécessaires et envoyé plusieurs courriels au service client, je nai toujours reçu aucune réponse ni mise à jour sur ma réclamation et le processus de remboursement. Laccident sest produit à un rond-point lorsque jai été percuté par larrière. Jai immédiatement signalé lincident à lagence Europcar dÉvora, qui a transmis le constat au service des incidents. Cependant, depuis cette date, le suivi de ma réclamation est inexistant et mon dépôt de garantie est retenu depuis ce jour. Le manque de communication et de soutien est inacceptable pour une entreprise de cette taille et réputation. Je demande une réponse urgente et une résolution rapide de cette situation. En attendant, je ne peux pas recommander Europcar à dautres clients potentiels et je suis très déçu par cette expérience.

Atención en carretera nefasta. No te solucionan los problemas porque solo dicen atender accidentes. Atención al cliente nefasta también porque no te solucionan el problema y dejan en tus manos la solución inmediata (del tipo si el coche te deja tirado déjalo y coge un taxi para hacer los casi 200 km que nos separaban de nuestro destino, pagado por nosotros). Como no nos convencía nada esta solución, nos dirigimos a las oficinas de Europcar en la ciudad donde estábamos, Coimbra, para intentar una solución real. Allí milagrosamente apareció un coche de sustitución que hasta ese momento se nos había negado si no llegábamos a Oporto. Aunque el coche estaba en unas condiciones bastante peores que el coche que nos habían entregado en primer lugar, funcionaba correctamente. Pero perdimos nuestro día de viaje y nos sentimos muy mal tratadas por esta empresa que no te facilita el servicio que pagas. Muy poca eficiencia y servicio telefónico nefasto, justo en momentos en los que estás agobiado y esperando que te ayuden a solucionar una situación que no es responsabilidad tuya. Muy mal.

Pésima, soy extranjera, de vacaciones, alquilo un coche y me da problemas técnicos. Llamo a atención en viaje y me dicen que si no es accidente, que no van. La atención por teléfono fue nefasta, y además me dicen que pida un taxi, que lo pague yo y que luego lo reembolsarán. Por mi cuenta fui a Europcar de Coimbra, y sí tenían coche de sustitución, aunque el que nos dieron eran viejo y con muchos kilómetros. Perdí un día de mis vacaciones de 6 días. No lo recomiendo para nada

Aluguei um carro elétrico no Aeroporto de Faro para devolver em Lisboa, já na retirada do automóvel iniciou-se uma história de terror que só iria terminar em Lisboa 4 dias mais tarde , Uma empresa despreparada para alugar carros elétricos, sem conhecimento algum sobre este tipo de veículo (ao ponto de nem saberem como funcionava o carro, tive que pedir ajuda ao pessoal que lavava os carros na entrega, pois eram os únicos que o sabiam fazer , o que deveria ser uma experiência de descobrimento de uma nova forma de transporte, se apresentou como um fiasco que trouxe tensão as férias com a minha companheira que quase tevê um ataque cardíaco ao chegar em Lisboa pela ponte Vasco da Gama com somente 10 porcentagem de carga na bateria, mas tudo isso poderia ser evitado se as pessoas tivessem uma formação adequada sobre este tipo de veículo, Então não posso dar menos que 1 estrela , mas se houvesse estrelas negativas com certeza daria 5 , não recomendo

Renting a car without any problems, the staff was very helpful. The only problem was to find the place to return the car in Lisbon at the airport, the link sent to the car drop-off place was not accurate and the navigation could not cope with it. So we wandered around the airport a bit. Fortunately, we had time to spare and were able to fly.
A DISASTER EUROPCAR. NEVER RENT A CAR HERE. The boss treated us very badly. They gave a us a car in bad conditions and then they wanted to give us a smaller car in comparison to what we paid for, and never apologise to us and treated us very bad. A DISASTER AND THE SERVICE AND TREATMENT OF THE STAFF WAS A SHAME. I will never rent a car again here. Bruno, the boss of this europcar is a violent man.

I rented i20 and pay 287 (which include 100 deposit).Returning a car was on time and without any damage and rude lady tell me that they will cancel my deposit paying in a day and i will get them in a day or two. Thats never happends and that was 120 days ago. So watch out

1. I have a question as to whether the Peugeot 3008 I initially reserved and the Hyundai Tucson are similar vehicles. At least as far as I know, it is a cheaper vehicle and there was no discount or explanation for it. 2. When receiving the vehicle, there were more than 8 defect points already checked. The trunk was dented and the wheels were scratched. I waited for about an hour and saw various vehicles being dispatched, but ours seemed to be in the worst condition. 3. If you pay the same price and get this kind of treatment, would you use Eurocar next time? I would like to make a formal complaint.

Overall, the experience is very good! I got a better car than I thought I would get (but at first they tried to if I wanted to pay extra for an automatic transmission (And I said NO), in the end I got a hybrid, new fully equipted). The people at the branch are nice. When I was picked up, they brought me a fredhy washed and wet car. When I asked about the damage, the guy told me that it was a new car. It was almost impossible to search for scratches among the drops of water. The guy said that I could look at it and he didnt look (its obviously not in his job description) for any damage. Then I discovered about a 20cm multiple scratches on the bumper and alu wheels. Everything marked in protocol and OK. But what if I hadnt discovered the scratches there myself?

Trust all the bad reviews on this one! Look carefully at your car when they do the initial check-up and point out every single details! Even more the wheel caps! I had a perfect drive and the scratches were probably already there. Dont trust them to do their job correctly... Take pictures too! Otherwise have a nice trip. Oh, and they put the message they will help with the customers e-mail and then: no follow up... So dont be fooled by that either

Absolutely horrible place, do not rent from them. They are scammers and try to pull fast ones on you during the rental process. Updated as of 06/21/24: Europcar worked with me and corrected the wrong with my billing. It took quite a bit of back and forth but it was done finally. Changing my review to 3 stars.
Don t recommend. Picked up the car dirty with 3/4 tank of petrol. Car was super old and nothing special. Dropped off the car full and we were charged a random 120. No invoice, no explanation. Super difficult to get in touch with anyone. Go somewhere else. You ll end up paying heaps more than the prices they advertise.

In Lisbon the lady at the office was rude. She gave incorect information about the Europecar Porto Office.
The old lady at the counter was absolutely unbearable, dealing with customers like they are all idiots, with the most arrogant attitude possible. Made a booking online, never received the confirmation by email, nothing in their system. She said that I had to make a new booking and that I will have to call the customer service to get my money back in 2 months. Left there without a car, minus 80 for the first booking. I am not surprised Europcar is going bankrupt with people dealing with business like this. Go to another agency, don t loose your time, your patience and your money with them.

Wir haben unseren Mietwagen an einen Sonntag um 9:00 übernommen. Wir mussten nur 10 Minuten warten bis wir an der Reihe waren und wurden super Freundlich von Herrn Nelson Henriques betreut. Keine Zusatzverkäufe, tolle Informationen über das Autbahnsystem und das kein Hartschalenkoffer auf der Rückbank sein darf (weicher Koffer -Ja). Auch dann nur kurz auf das Auto warten müssen und auch dies wurde uns von eine Dame sehr freundlich übergeben. Auch meine zwei kleinen gefunden Fehler wurden nachträglich ohne Probleme und rasch in das Übernahmeprotokoll eingetragen. Wirklich Hut ab an alle Mitarbeiter hier bei Europcar in Lissabon! Zur Info: Wir hatten einen Seat Ibiza - Automatic - mit gerade mal 1.200 km!
Quelle expérience horrible ! Jai lhabitude de louer régulièrement des véhicules à Lisbonne. Chez Europcar plusieurs fois, et jai déjà été mécontente 1 fois car le véhicule ne fonctionnant pas, jai été déclassée ! Mais là, jai payé 3x plus que prévu ! On a refusé ma carte, celle que jutilise à chaque fois, (mais ça la personne au comptoir a été incapable de retrouver mes anciennes réservations, ou plutôt nen navait rien à faire) car la réservation a été faite par internet (directement sur leur application) et ma dit navoir aucune solution Mais finalement il a demandé à sa chef qui grand seigneur a proposé de prendre les assurances et que ça serait OK pour cette fois-ci. Ça a triplé le prix, mais il ma dit quand même que javais de la chance car il existe des assurances encore plus chère !! Une incompétence incroyable, alors si vous souhaitez louer à Lisbonne, sachez quil y a plein dautres agences bien plus professionnelles, et moins chères (même de petits loueurs ) Je loue environ 2x par mois depuis 4 ans, et je raye définitivement Europcar

Ich bekam ein halb betanktes Fahrzeug, mir wurden dann bei Abgabe Kosten für die Betankung in Rechnung gestellt. Ich kann nur von Europcar abraten.
Reserved in advance. Pickup was smooth and the car was clean and nice. BEWARE: they didn t tell me the place closes promptly at 6 and their google hours don t stay current (it said 8pm). I pulled up at exactly 601. By the time I got to the back through the side door the guy says what do you need? I said to drop off the car. He says sorry too late. I said I m one minute late. He says actually you re 3 minutes late (true). He Wouldn t budge said we all have families to get back to. Says go look at the sign and go to the next place. Really annoying. Killed another 30min for no good reason. At least warn people about the strict closing time and update the hours on google which is why I didn t think I was at risk of being late. European isn t going to be the first place I look next time.
Was perfect. Very organized, freindly representatives (Emmanuela was great). No hidden payments or anything, booked in advance with premium coverege. easy drop off, pay attention that they close at 18:00 sharp.

Its better to avoid this europcar division, its employees committed a fraud against me and fabricated my signature. Ive rented a car there for a few days and returned it in time. Companys employee accepted the car, signed the papers that everything is correct and Im good to go. So I have a copy of papers with date and time of return with mine and employees signatures. On the next day I took a plane back home and after awhile I received an email with new invoice that stated I missed deadline and returned the car one day later. The invoice has a customer signature and its not mine, some employee decided to sign the invoice instead of me, so they just fabricated it. On my hands I have the paper with correct date signed by Europcar employee. I have Google Maps Timeline that confirms I was in the Europcar office exactly at the time of returning the vehicle. And I have a plane ticket that confirms I was flying home from airport supposedly around the same I was returning the car in the center of Lisbon. With all these documents the problem should be solved quite quickly, but Europcar customer service takes a lot of time to solve a mistake on their side. So it looks like a fraud, especially because they fabricated the signature on the invoice.

Très déçus par cette expérience avec Europcar. Cela fait 15 ans que je loue des voitures et je n ai jamais eu le moindre problème. Nous avons pris l assurance médium. Au retour, nous sommes facturé de 609 pour un minuscule coup dans la porte conducteur. Je suis persuadé de ne pas l avoir fait moi même car nous avons pris grand soin de la voiture. N ayant pas inspecté la voiture dans les moindre détails à la prise en main, je ne peux rien faire. Voyez la photo en pièce jointe, c est édifiant! Méfiez-vous de cette agence de location! Agence malhonnête à éviter!
Honteux! Agence à fuire absolument! Plus de 600 eur pour un minuscule coup quasiment invisible à l il nu. Nous avions pris l assurance moyenne mais visiblement cette agence cherche à se faire un max d argent! Nous avons reçu la voiture dans un parking très sombre et pour le retour, le garage est beaucoup plus lumineux laissant apparaître le moindre détail non visible à la prise du véhicule. Bref, ma dernière fois chez Europcar. Des escrocs tout simplement!
Europcar in Lisbon (Portugal) has kind employees. I wish I had been provided some more info about the car when I took it, as the model was slightly different from the ones in my country. Now I would not recommend to return the car at Campanhã office (Porto City, Portugal) . That is a central train/metro station with awful access

I was happy to receive my car quickly and easily and returned it to the different place as requested and agreed before. However there are not so good options to choose the car model and condition as well as fuel.

Rented an electrical car for 10 year anniversary and trip in Portugal - Car was 1 hour late from the cleaning (1 hour missed) - Didnt provide information about the charging (about the app!) and we ended up spending the last 4 hours trying to find the charger with a banking card accepted (no results) - Returned 2 hours earlier because of low battery (declined to charge it!!) So its 7 out of 24 hours of 10-year anniversary auto trip wasted with no apologies and refund

Booked online. Seamless pick up and drop off. Oh, just watch, there s 2 Europcar agencies within 500m of each other right around the Marquês de Pombal roundabout. I went to the wrong one initially but clearly I wasn t the first to make such a mistake. I was quickly pointed in the right direction and there I was greeted by Nelson. Super helpful and quick on the data entry. In and out in no time thanks to Nelson!

The cars tank had an issue and it would not get to the full level. I had to discuss with the staff after returning the car. Since they didnt accept the car back, they charged us two days. The next day I had to come back to the rental and only after some 10 minutes of back and forth (and the guy at the counter saying that he couldnt do anything), they changed the bill. Pretty terrible experience. I cant recommend it.

Fiz uma reserva, chegando no local atendente fala que não posso pegar o veículo porque precisa de um cartão de crédito que passe no estabelecimento e precisa que o cartão seja físico. Então como não temos cartão internacional para pagar caução somente débito, eles falaram que não poderiam nos atender. Mas não cancelaram a reserva. Foi debitado na fatura
Amazing people, I rented a manual car but I wasnt good at driving it. I didnt want to break it so the agent helped me change to a automatic car at a different location. They even offered to drive the manual car to the other location to help me change cars. 10/10 service, would recommend renting from here.

I am with just anther costumers there right now, we are just 2 people and the stuff of europcar are 5, it takes more than 1 hour to get it done, they are so slowly and unfriendly. If there was another choice available i would definitely choose it. Very expensive and unprofessional.

Etat de départ peu minutieux dans un garage sombre, sur une voiture sombre, résultat : 2 dommages non cités dans le constat, dont un nous est facturé au retour de la voiture. Plus obligation de prendre (et payer) un badge de télépéage, alors quon peut toujours payer à la barrière. Je recommande de choisir une autre agence ou bien de faire sortir la voiture au jour avant le départ. Première fois que jai ce genre de problème avec Europcar.
A complete scam. After trying to fool us that they upgraded our car for the same price even though it was actually a downgrade from what we paid, we had to pay almost one year later a toll fee even thought they told us at that time that everything is included and that we do not have to worry about anything. Please do not be fooled by the cheap small talk while they try to distract you. Such a disappointment, never again!
Très bon accueil, nous avons sans demande de notre part été surclassé et avons obtenu un véhicule neuf avec moins de 500 kms au compteur, suréquipé et très bien motorisé. Satisfaction totale, nous recommandons.
Méfiez vous! Nous avons loué une voiture pour 3jours, tout sest bien passé. Lors de check-out, lhomme en charge de faire létat des lieux à tout de suite pointer du doigts une petite rayure sur larrière du véhicule. Son but facturer un dommage qui était là avant nous. Nous avons pu sortir alors les dizaines de photos et vidéos que javais fait de la voiture au moment du check-in. À la simple vue du dossier photo, lhomme à de suite abandonner son jeu en disant que tout était bon finalement (alors quil na même pas vraiment regarder). Tout est bien qui finit bien mais que ce serait il passé sans ces photos ? Conseil: PRENEZ DES DIZAINES ET DES DIZAINES DE PHOTOS ET DE VIDEOS SOUS TOUT LES ANGLES AVANT DE PARTIR DU GARAGE !!!

Abbiamo chiesto un seggiolino per il bimbo e non sapevano montarlo, ci siamo dovuti improvvisare noi, la macchina che ci hanno dato aveva l olio motore basso ( non era stata controllata????)
Visitato nellagosto 2023. Lunga attesa sia per accettazione sia per la consegna dellauto (circa 45 nel complesso). Personale molto gentile e preciso sia nellinformarmi sulla modalità di pagamento delle autostrade in Portogallo, sia nellannotare le imperfezioni dellauto presa a noleggio. Purtroppo, esso si è però mostrato approssimativo nel gestire laccensione della spia pressione pneumatici una volta consegnatami la vettura, provando prima a resettarla senza successo, dicendomi poi che si trattava probabilmente di un problema allelettronica ma di star tranquillo perchè le gomme erano state controllate il giorno prima, nonostante una delle gomme fosse evidentemente più sgonfia delle altre. Il problema si è infatti risolto fermandomi alla prima stazione di servizio e gonfiando la gomma.
No issues, good experience. Point of attention is that there are two EuropCar places in the center and my confirmation did not clearly show to which one to go (so went to the wrong one at first unfortunately). I did get an upgrade, which was very nice. The staff was friendly and helpful.

They will scam you. My agreement was for $931.13 but they charged me $2726.66. Clende Neto (rental agent) and Bruno Aires (manager) said it was an error and they would fix it after I left. I have them on video saying it. However , NOPE they charge me the incorrect amount. They charged me triple my agreement amount. Do not trust this place
Be careful not to take their toll pass!!!! 1 month after renting from them, I realized that they made me pay for a supposedly essential toll pass even though there is a free site (easytoll) to pay tolls in Portugal.
Worst place to rent a car. They re at the airport which means a lot of traffic! They indicated time to bring the car back was flexible, when we arrived we were 40 minutes later than expected and they charged us 100,- (1 day of rental and insurance) extra!!! Outrageous. They didn t even tell me at check out, I had to find out when they took the money from my credit card. WORST SERVICE EVER;

Ho effettuato la prenotazione in Aprile 2023 avendo pagato la somma totale prima del ritiro, per questioni logistiche non mi hanno potuto dare lauto e ad oggi ottobre 2023 non ho ancora ricevuto il rimborso, che non riceverò mai!! Azienda pessima, super disponibili per prenotare ma per ricevere un rimborso tutto tace e nessuno risponde mai!! Sono veramente deluso, arrabbiato e schifato da questo auto noleggio. Lo sconsiglio a tutti, la peggiore esperienza della mia vita VOGLIO I MIEI SOLDI INDIETRO
Lange Wartezeit (auf 11 Uhr bestellt, ab 10.45 Uhr in der Warteschlange, um 12 Uhr abgefahren). Auto qualitativ sehr gut, top ausgerüstet mit sehr gutem Preis-Leistungsverhältnis. Leider hatte ein Pneu deutlich zu wenig Druck (also bei erster Gelegenheit zur Tankstelle, um zu Pumpen und nach Studium der Bedienungsanleitung im Internet eine Reset der Reifendrucküberwachung vornehmen). Aufgerundet 4 Sterne, da ich die Qualität des Autos stärker bewerte.

WARNING! Be very careful with this establishment, they scam you for damages on the car if you do not take pictures of the car. I got charged 420EUR for scratches on a rim, that 1) was there before I took possesion of the care and 2) can be polished away at a tire store for 50EUR.
I rented a car, everything was fine, we had full insurance coverage and made no damage before returning it. They told us everything was okay and we would get the deposit back in a month. I never got it back more than 6 months after. I contacted them and they kept saying they had sent it but without showing any proof and it never arrived on my bank account.

Problemas enfrentados para resolver um simples problema de pneu furado; 1- não havia pneu reserva, carro teve que ser guinchado 2- mais de uma hora para resolver o problema e perdi compromissos importantes 3- carro substituto nível bem inferior ao primeiro, em termos de conforto, porta malas e danos na pintura 4- dificuldade para devolver o veículo no aeroporto, não havia sinalização da Europcar para facilitar essa devolução. 5- ponto positivo somente para a equipe da recepção e entrega do veículo em Lisboa
Dont trust this car rental location, they try to scam people. I had booked a car online with europcar and presented the confirmation to the female experienced staff member. The email came directly from europcar and contained the price, location, category and date but not apparently not the necessary confirmation number. This should not be my issue but the lady refused to give me a car. She lied that there are no small cars available, only luxury car. Instead of my 79 booking she offered me a 400 rental which I declined. Then suddenly she found a 300 rental car and I declined. I did not have any other option and needed a car, so I went online again and was able to book another small car from the same station, immediately available, also for 79 . I went back inside and the lady had disappeared. Her colleague gave me that car. However, they also charge a 12.50 fee for a highway toll device. The website says its optional so I tried to decline. The staff member insisted in the fee and said that I would get it back if I havent used it. I never used it but they charged me anyways and never paid it back - its been 2 weeks now. Over all - this location tries to scam, upcharge and take advantage of tourists. I dont want to imagine what happens if you actually have an accident or so.
Do NOT trust this place with your credit card. They charged me an additional $70 two weeks after returning the car, and now again, THREE MONTHS AFTER returning the car I suddenly have another charge for $15. Edit: Once again, FOUR MONTHS AFTER my rental, I wake up to a another new charge of $15.

Helpful, efficient, easy. All in all - a good car rental. We decided to swap to booking directly with them, instead of a third party, which made the whole thing much simpler.
Unfortunately, the attendant that handled the return had limited English that made communication a little difficult. Our one issue involved in the communication was we had no idea where a fuel station was to refuel, so we had to return as was with half a tank. We understand they will charge the cost to refuel, which will be absolutely over the top, but we had trouble communicating that we knew what the deal was. The other issue was that the car was riddled with small dent and scuffs that had not been listed on the handover documentation when we picked it up.in Porto. Overall, it was a good experience, but that will be dependent on what and how long it takes for the holding deposit to be refunded.
These scammers put down on a document that my petrol tank was full but never made me sign it. When I dropped the car back I was told I needed to fill the tank or else Id get charged. Be warned, they wont even check your car before leaving but will put down on the documents that its all good.
This company are fraudulent DO NOT USE. They took hundreds of £GBP in charges off me after the car hire. Several months later they are stealing small amounts of money from my account randomly. Theft at this scale must be stopped. Avoid using this company

This is actually my second time using Europcar in Portugal and Ive also used them in France a couple times, though the last time was pre pandemic. Back in the day this was the only way I knew for a casual American tourist to rent a car in Europe, walking to the spot today I actually saw another option, so maybe things are changing. This is a clean, modern location. If you want to rent from Europcar you need to be serious: reserve in advance, show up on time (and bring your passport if you are visiting) and dont expect any favors. I asked about an after hours return (they close at 6 pm...on a Tuesday) and got a flat no. The clerk tried to upsell me on insurance like I was a clown, nobody has tried thar scam on me in the US in 10 years (about 5 rentals a year). But the car was great and I hustled my butt back from Nazare so I wouldnt have to confront the nightmarish parking scenario outside my airbnb. Another protip is dont wait till you get back to Lisbon to refuel bc Ive been here for a week and havent seen any. Not one gas station inside Lisbon. The bathroom was good. Gasolina is unleaded and Gasoleasa is diesel fuel, dont mix them up!

TRUFFATORI/LADRI questo è l unico termine con cui posso riassumere la mia esperienza di noleggio con Europcar di Lisbon Downtown City Center: veicolo noleggiato dal 08/08/23 e riconsegnato il 19/08/23 all aeroporto di Lisbona, ci siamo ritrovati addebito dell importo di 259,78 sulla carta di credito per Premium protection package da noi NON richiesto con conferme ricevute via email con FIRME FALSE!!! Chiesti chiarimenti al Customer Service italiano e mostrate le firme false NON siamo riusciti ad ottenere risposta: dopo averci detto di rivolgerci direttamente all ufficio di Lisbona, nuovamente senza risposta, dall Italia ci hanno detto che loro non potevano farci niente infine, ciliegina sulla torta, a fine dicembre (a distanza di ben 4 mesi dal noleggio) abbiamo ricevuto ulteriori addebiti per pedaggi autostradali (già interamente pagati a settembre) per i quali abbiamo chiesto delucidazioni ma non abbiamo ricevuto alcun riscontro. STATE LONTANI DA QUESTI TRUFFATORI
This was by far one the best experiences with the car rental companies I have ever had. Special shout out to people at the pick up counter - they were great, explained everything in great details. Would definitely rent from this location again!
