The worst company you will ever deal with - they gave me 3 cars - 2 were not fit for purpose (and I was transporting children around on holiday) and the last car was not 7 seats as I had ordered so I was making multiple trips to transport everyone around and pay for taxis - then they had the audacity to charge me £3K for excess for some scratches. Terrible company.
Booked a car and it was delivered to the hotel (Fiat hybrid)
Easy rental. We needed a seven passenger van because we had family visiting. The van was perfect for us and they even delivered and picked up the van from our house. Very reasonable price. We will absolutely rent again. We have used eurocar in Portimao but had trouble with larger vehicles when we had five people or more. Cars were always to small.
Rented a car back in September. Process was very straight forward. Called the company on arrival. Staff arrived not long after. Completed the paperwork and was shown to the car. Car was brand new with very little mileage. Had no problems in returning the vehicle. Staff where very friendly and I wouldn't hesitate to use this company again. Only query I have was a recent transaction on my credit card statement a few months after rental that I don't recall. An email to explain what the charge is for would be appreciated but as I have read in another review charges can be made months after booking. Tolls I believe where included in the booking and I paid for this separately. Thank You
Do NOT hire from here. A tin shack in the middle of a parking lot. The rudest customer service I have ever experienced. Un equiped and just so not worth the hassle. Spend a few more £"s and go to Sixt or Guerin on the other side of the airport. They left us without a car and we had a toddler. Honestly have never been through anything so troubling in my life. AVOID AT ALL COSTS.
Price seemed a bit high in our opinion (€150 for a medium sized automatic car for 1 day) but we wanted to drive to different beaches and decided it wasn’t worth missing out on. The staff seemed nice and accommodating (until they weren’t). We received the car with 1/4 tank of petrol and filled it up full thinking we would be reimbursed for any extra petrol (this is the experience that I have had with other major rental companies in the States). Upon returning the car, I asked about how they do petrol refunds and immediately they became agitated and argumentative saying that they do not and nor do any other car companies. After a short exchange they continued speaking to me rudely and I had to ask them to please stop speaking to me as the argument wasn’t worth the extra €40 in free petrol they got from me. Moral of the story — don’t be surprised if the staff are rude to you and don’t be nice and put in more gas than was in the car when you got it.
Very rude staff!! They open at 9am but wouldn't come in until 930 on the day of my rental. I said I needed the car at 9 they said they could come in at 830am but it would cost an additional €20. I returned the vehicle in perfect condition, on time but with beach sand on the mats. That's it, no stains, in perfect condition, a 24hr rental in a beach town. Of course there's going to be a bit of sand. They said that vacuuming sand is very difficult and both the young lady and the manager were very rude to me saying that was "disrespectful". I was shocked. This is a business, not personal. It's not about respect returning a car with some sand in it. They charged me a €50 cleaning fee!!! That's almost half of the entire 24 hr rental. Even when I offered to take the vehicle to a cleaning spot they said I would have to pay an extra day's rental. Walked out of there with my heart racing and feeling bullied. Very upset!! Terrible, rude, unprofessional staff hugely lacking in customer service skills or concern. Find another rental agency that values your business and treats you with courtesy.
Première location de voiture au Portugal effectué chez Luz Ocean Drive ou tout cest bien déroulé. Prise en charge à laéroport en dehors de leurs horaires (40 en supplément) avec véhicule conforme à la description et état irréprochable ! Véhicule hybride peut kilometré rendu en fin de location avec caution de 1450 ,sans encombres. Je recommande cette agence de location
Freundlich, unkompliziert, schnell, günstig. Unkomplizierte Kommunikation über WhatsApp Nachrichten & Anrufe. Auch die persönliche Übergabe des Autos sehr freundlich. Der Preis war unschlagbar!!!
2 Anmietungen innerhalb eines Jahres am Airport Faro. Bei der ersten waren wir etwas genervt weil wir dem Mitarbeiter zur Rückgabe des Fahrzeug hinterher telefonieren mussten. Er war nicht am Flughafen. Allerdings war der restliche Service okay. Bei der zweiten Anmietung hatten wir das Problem nicht. Das Fahrzeug hatte zwar einige Dellen aber nichts was die Nutzung beeinträchtigt hätte. Der Mitarbeiter hat auf alle Beschädigungen hingewiesen, Rückgabe und Tankregelung erläutert und die Mautpsuschale angeboten. (Die sich für uns ganz sicher ausbezahlt hat.) Bringen Sie für Abholung und Rückgabe genug Zeit mit, am Tresen gibt es viele verschiedene Anbieter von denen der richtige gefunden werden möchte und der Andrang am Tresen ist recht hoch.
Be careful, we paid for and had an electronic tag in the windscreen of the car for toll roads in Portugal for our car in 2019, however, just now in 2024 we have received a fine for using the tolls roads and not paying to do so, no way around this other than to fight it which you can imagine is difficult from another country

Well the car was a great little convertible mini ,,, all went well ,, bit expensive but I think they all are now ,,, late picking up but they had my mobile number down different. With it being very late picking up by an hour I took it out on the lady and regret it now, life s too short so I apologise for that. Alls well that ends well though and the sun still shines.

Goede service en vriendelijk personeel. Onze vlucht was wat vertraagd maar we werden vriendelijk opgebeld en de medewerker bleef even op ons wachten. Heel erg vriendelijk. Ook bij het inleveren van de auto ging alles heel soepel. Een aanrader!
Vorsicht vor dieser Agentur. Auto wurde angemietet. Bereits bei Übergabe fehlte die Hutablage, jedoch haben wir das nicht fotografiert weil gesagt wurde nur Schäden von außen dokumentieren. Bei der Rückgabe wurde direkt der Kofferraum geöffnet und gesagt das die Hutablage fehlt. Kosten 374 . Es wurde darauf beharrt, dass wir ja eine Vollkasko hätten und wir das Geld ja zurück bekommen. Sehr unseriös.
Abholung und Rückgabe des Wagens gestalteten sich anstrengend. Auch wurde bei der Abgabe eine Lackschaden entdeckt, der ... naja ... Es gibt in Faro im Bereich des Flughafens viele seriöse und freundliche Mietwagenanbieter, die wir seit 30 Jahren (jährlich) ohne Probleme und Stress nutzen. Auf diese werden wir künftig wieder zurück greifen und auf Luz Ocean Drive verzichten.

Wir haben eine Wagen für ursprünglich 20 Tage ab und bis Campingplatz in Luz gemietet. Soweit alles in Ordnung, nur als wir uns nach 10 Tagen entschieden haben, den Campingplatz zu wechseln (wir sind nah Porto Covo gezogen, ca. 150 km nördlich) mussten wir feststellen, dass es keinerlei Rückerstattung der nicht genutzten Tage gibt - steht wohl im Kleingedruckten und wurde als üblich bezeichnet. Nun bin ich zufällig aus der Reisebranche und habe einen ganz guten Überblick auch über die Mietwagenindustrie weltweit. Daher meine klare Aussage, dies ist nicht üblich. D.h. meine Empfehlung ist, sich vor Anmietung sehr genau zu überlegen, für wie lange man sich verpflichten will, es gibt bei Oceandrive kein Geld zurück! Natürlich für die Firma ein geschicktes Geschäftsmodell, denn so konnte der Wagen potentiell 10 Tage doppelte Einnahmen generieren. Ich habe nicht geprüft, wie andere Vermieter das im Großraum Lagos handhaben, kann aber sagen, dass wir auf der gleichen Tour in Tarragona eine 21 tägige Miete sogar nach 2 Tagen abgebrochen haben - es hörte einfach nicht auf zu regnen - und wir haben die Differenz anstandslos zurück bekommen.
Aus meiner Sicht Abzocker. Wir haben für einen akzeptablen Preis gebucht. Wir verpassten fremdverschuldet den Hinflug und konnten den Wagen erst 20 Stunden später abholen. Luz Ocean Drive verlangte das 2,5-Fache vom gebuchten Preis und war nicht kompromissbereit. Wir hatten den Wagen einen Tag weniger als geplant und zahlten drauf ohne jegliche Kooperationsbereitschaft.
We rented a car for 2 days and we had a good experience with them. They were in time, professional, clean and good car, I would recommend them. We took the fully insurance option which gave us the possibility to take the car without a credit card.
Dont get tired of these. The employees are rude and not very service minded. The premises are deserted for several hours a day during opening hours. If you are going to rent a car or deliver a rented car, you must therefore call and agree when you will meet. These times are not respected and they do not answer the phone. If I had caught a flight, I would have been delayed.
Expensive. Very unpolite employees. Rude. Compared to other rental car companies in Lagos double prices. I would not recommend anyone to rent a car there.

A fuir absolument! Nous avons réservé une voiture dans cet agence pour une durée de 5 jours à l aéroport de faro. A notre arrivée les clefs nous ont été remis pour la location d une Seat Ibiza soit disant neuve de concession (30km). Première surprise: la voiture ne démarrait pas. Nous avons patienté 30 minutes pour qu ils puissent la faire démarrer mais le plus dommageable est le fait que nous aillons du payer un extra fees de 250 euros pour des dégâts (griffures plastiques) minimes sous la calandre du véhicule que nous n avions pas causé!! C est inacceptable et malheureusement non contestable puisque la vérification n a pas été faite en amont. Le discours est bien rodé il est évidemment peu fréquent d aller mettre sa main sous la voiture lors de « l état des lieux » pour vérifier ces parties du véhicule... Faute de temps pour allez prendre notre vol nous n avons pas pu faire autrement que de payer. Un conseil, fuyez cette agence pour des prestataires certes un peu plus cher mais toutefois plus honnêtes!!
Agence malhonnête méfiez-vous!! Location d une voiture que nous paierons finalement avec un extra de 250 euros soit disant parce que nous avons abîmé un morceau de plastique sous le véhicule: « front bumper scratched », c est vraiment inacceptable et malheureux de tomber sur des personnes qui ne cherchent qu à vous piéger avec des scénarios à priori bien maîtrisés ! Un conseil : à fuir de toute urgence
Très bon accueil par Andréa et son collaborateur qui nous ont tout bien expliqué, étant à Praia da Luz ,il était bien pratique de trouver une agence de location à côté !Un grand merci à eux!

These guys are out of touch with reality, they wanted to charge us 85 euros to the airport and wanted us to book ahead even, I opened bolt and it s 61 euros to go to the airport! Even bolt is cheaper , what kind of business model is this? Ripping people off!
Had to take the car back a day early due to current virus conditions at 8am was charged euro 30 I feel that this was unfair as it was circumstances beyond anyones control and a little common sense could have been applied, car was 6 years old but clean and reliable.
Das Preis - Leistungsverhältnis stimmt. Wir haben sehr günstig einen Combi für eine Woche ab Flughafen Faro gemietet. Der Wagen war nicht mehr der Neueste, doch das ist bei dem Preis auch völlig in Ordnung. Die Abholung und Abgabe war unkompliziert und alles hat wie erwartet geklappt. Man muss wissen, dass man 2500 als Kaution hinterlegen muss und daher ein entsprechendes Limit auf der Kreditkarte benötigt. Das Geld war innerhalb kürzester Zeit nach Rückgabe wieder auf der Karte. Also gab es nichts zu beanstanden.
Never rent a car there!!! You will get scammed!!! They will come up with made-up charges and PUSH them to your credit card which is completely illegal. We got charged EUR 50 for cleaning because there was some sand left. Also, we got charged EUR 250 for a allegedly damaging the key while the car was not starting. The whole experience was accompanied with the lady hysterically screaming on the street.
We just had a nice Fiat 500 Cabriolet from this company. Price was good and delivery of the car to the campground on the next morning. Scratches on the car were documented on check-out so so issues when handing it back. So all quick and fair. thanks.

Came by 10 am. No managers. Waiting already more than half hour. Nobody answers phone calls. I would put 0 star of five due to absence of any service.

Very good hotel price but definitely 3 star not 4 but this is reflected in the price. Great cleaners and garden staff reception really good. Breakfast can be variable but generally good variety. I have stayed here 5 years in a row for between 6 to 8 weeks in the winter. Very quiet.
Avoid! Go to a well-known car hire company, it will pay off at the end. Rude staff, extra (hidden) charges for everything and the worst of all is the trouble of finding them (they dont have a stand, Just a shared one). So I end up paying three time the agreed amount. Good luck if you decide to go with Luz Ocean.
The first car was so battered that it made me think if it was safe to drive. A/C not working properly, cables hanging... complained directly to the owner who offer to replace the vehicle if I went to their offices in Praia da Luz. There was nobody there. After waiting for almost 1 hour somebody turned up, with a seriously bad atittude who blamed everybody else apart from them, for the state of the vehicle. After fumbling around, managed to repair A/C and hide cables. Next day I found out that the wipers were not working properly either. New phone call, new complaint. Finally theyve agreed to exchange the vehicle and they upgraded to a much better car. Whill I ever rent from them again? Big fat NO.

Awful car grinding brakes. No working handbrake. 18 items of damage when we picked up car and were charged 240 euros for damage which was already there but they disputed. Never in 30 years of hiring cars in Portugal have we had these sort of problems. Not willing to discuss sensibly. Dont use them.

Do not use!!!! We did not have a great experience with the hire car company. 1st we booked and paid for a vw transporter and instead got a Vauxhall vivaro that has numerous dents, scrapes and bits haggling off and only a quarter of a tank of fuel - we had to except it!! We have never in our history been offered a rental vehicle in such poor condition. On the return of the of the car, there were no reps there to meet with so I had to call them and they told me to wait until they got there with no estimated arrival time. When they did arrive they checked around the car inside and out and said I had not come back with the right amount of fuel- luckily I had kept the paper work and mine was different to his; he quickly backtracked and then said the car was dirty inside. At this point I told him to stop there as he was clearly trying to con more money out of me. We had genuinely looked after the vehicle whilst in our care and as you would expect from a rental being used on a holiday there was some light sand crumbs on a couple of seats and floor. The man was very rude and made an ongoing complaint to us that the car was dirty. Both my wife and I had to make it clear that no matter how dirty it is they would still be required to valet the car ready for the next customer. He was quite clearly finding any possible reason to claim more money from us and his attitude was very rude. This was the most awful hire experience I have ever experienced!!
Was a bit worried after I randomly booked a car with Luz Ocean Drive ( after all these scary reviews here). Even wanted to cancel the reserwation. But I got a new car from them with everything like I booked. The guy at the reseption was polite, quick and friendly. Return of the car was even faster. Couple of minutes for him to check the car and thats it. Highly recomended. Only disadvantage for someone that they freeze 2,000 euro on your credit card, but it has not bothered me. Got them back right after I returned the car. In my case they were 5 star car rent.
STAY AWAY! ×See pictures× Got charged an excess fee for damage that was pretty existing! Had time stamped pictures of when the car had been picked up and left off which the damage corresponded with which the took no acknowledgement off. Clearly a scam as the car had not been used apart from to and from the airport then was in an underground car park. Have sent numerous complaints and asked for management etc to absolutely no avail. If you want to be ripped off and your money stolen for damage that was already on the car then this is the place to go! Disgrace ×See pictures×
Worst car rental ever
***ABYSMAL*** * The car was five years old or more. * As soon as you turned the key, a warning appeared on the dashboard: Immediate Service/Revision required. * The two front tyres were so bold, they were illegal. * The front wheels were not balanced. The steering wheel shuddered on the motorway. * The breaks were so worn out that they screeched. * One of the back windows would not close properly and thus the wind whistled in our ears for hours. * There were cobwebs on the wing mirrors and the interior was dirty. * I selected the option to collect with a full tank and to bring back full but Luz Ocean Drive said that was just another way of saying you bring it back with the same amount thats in the tank . * Without taking me to the car, the young lad from Luz Ocean Drive said it was half full and asked me to sign. It wasn´t half full, it was a third full. * I had selected the option for meet & greet in the (Faro Airport) terminal, however, there was no one there from Luz Ocean Drive. * I made my complaints to the same young lad when I returned the car. He said the car whistled because it was tall!!! He had no training or process for logging a complaint. * He refused to give me evidence that my 3,000 deposit had been released on my credit card, insisting that it would be done automatically.
