The service was at a level that I haven t seen in a long time. They arrived an hour earlier than expected, called us on the phone, came and picked us up from the airport and took us to the office. I accidentally gave them 50 more than they needed, they returned everything on the spot, everything was processed very quickly, 10-15 minutes and you re good to go. I recommend Rentx to everyone if you are flying to Madeira. Rating 10/10

Rentx ist die beste Autovermietung auf Madeira. Ich habe online über Check24 gebucht und die Abwicklung war perfekt. Nachdem ich am Flughafen angekommen war, habe ich die Servicenummer von Rentx angerufen und mir wurde sehr freundlich mitgeteilt, dass der Shuttlebus in kürze direkt vor dem Flughafenausgang eintrifft. Die Fahrt zur Vermietung dauerte keine 15 Minuten und das Team war sehr freundlich, effektiv und organisiert. Ich hatte einen Citroen C3 Aircross mit 100 PS und Automatik gebucht und auch bekommen. Für die steilen Straßen auf Madeira gut geeignet...drunter würde ich nicht empfehlen, eher noch etwas mehr Leistung. Die Autos sind technisch und optisch in sehr gutem bis hervorragenden Zustand. Sowohl außen und auch innen sehr gut gesäubert. Die Rückgabe erfolgte problemlos. Stellvertretend für das ganze Team von Rentx möchte ich Helena und Alverino (Fahrer Shuttlebus) nennen, die sehr freundlich und sympatisch im perfekten Englisch die Anmietung zu einem tollen Service-Erlebnis gemacht haben. Wenn ich wieder nach Madeira fliege, werde ich auf alle Fälle wieder bei Rentx ein Auto mieten.

Wirklich sehr seriöser, ehrlicher und zuvorkommender Service. Hier hat man nicht nur zu keinem Zeitpunkt das Gefühl, schnelles Geld verdienen zu wollen, sondern werden einem aus Kulanz sogar ein paar Stunden Verlängerung ermöglicht und das Ganz ohne Aufpreis. Kommunikation lief einwandfrei. Die Station liegt zwar außerhalb vom Terminal, das macht aber der schnelle und äußerst freundliche Transport allemal wieder wett. Wenn ich wieder komme, Buche zu 100% wieder bei diesem Anbieter.

I had a really good experience with Rentx. I rented a KIA Rio with full insurance. After arrival I called the number that was provided and asked for pickup. Pickup was at the airport in 10 minutes. I did the early check in. Thanks to that the whole process was literally just getting the keys. Returning the car was also very fast, they only checked the odometer and took a pic of the gas station receipt, because apparently many people struggle with filling the car with correct fuel... From beginning to the end everyone was professional and very friendly. I can recommend Rentx to anyone searching for a good car rental in Madeira.

Haben über Check24 gebucht und wirklich alles hat super geklappt. Es gab ein wunderbares Shuttle Service. Der Abholen und Abgeben hat super funktioniert. Das einzige Manko ist die etwas hohe Kaution von 1300 Euro.

Nos dieron un Dacia Lodgy (quizás algo justo de caballos para todas las montañas y cuestas que hay en Madeira), pero no nos dio ningún problema. El local está en Machico, te llevan y te traen del aeropuerto (10-15 min de trayecto). Muy buena atención del personal, Victor nos estaba esperando a las 7:00h. *Si tienes que devolver el coche antes de las 8:00h, hay que pagar un suplemento de 30 .

Sehr nette Angestellte! :) Die Station ist 10 min vom Flughafen entfernt. Wenn man das weiß und ein bisschen Zeit mitbringt für den Shuttle zur Station ist alles ok. Mein Mietwagen war top! Der Angestellte hat mir freundlicherweise sogar sein privates usb c Kabel gegeben, damit ich mein Handy verbinden kann! Total lieb! Der Shuttle zurück zum Flughafen ging super schnell und man hat sich nett unterhalten! Mir wurden keine zusätzlichen Versicherungen angedreht und man war auch sehr geduldig mit mir als ich 1000 Fotos und Videos vom Wagen gemacht habe

I rented from RentX through discover cars for my 10 days in Madeira. Great honest car rental company. They are actually open 24 hours however theres supplemental fees if you want to pickup/return cars outside of the normal business hours which is understandable but at least dont worry too much if your flight is outside of the operating business hours. The shuttle pickup at the airport was a bit hectic as there were quite a few customers waiting + several different rental companies operating their shuttles as well. The car at pick up was in good condition and I liked how they had detailed documentation on the pre-existing scratches and damages which they email you pictures of as well. I booked an automatic in the economy class however was given an intermediate class (Citroen Aircross 3) - some might enjoy this unexpected upgrade however I was not as thrilled since it meant a slightly bigger car which for the streets of Madeira is not the best thing lol. But it is what it is and the car fared well against the steep roads. The only con however is that the car was pretty basic in features and did not come with a rear camera which made parking in tight spaces tricky for someone who is used to having that aid lol but otherwise everything was fine and Id recommend booking with this company.

Es lief wirklich alles super und wirklich sehr einfach und schnell, vor allem wenn man im Vorhinein schon alles bezahlt und online ausgefüllt hatte. Die Abholung vom und zum Flughafen lief auch sehr schnell und problemlos. Ich persönlich kann nur eine Auto mit genügend Power empfehlen, da es in Madeira sehr schnell sehr steil werden kann. Generell fand ich den Preis mit einer Vollversicherung sehr fair. Ich kann diese Autovermietung wirklich nur empfehlen und würde hier immer wieder ein Auto mieten!

Diese Autovermietung ist sehr zu empfehlen! Wir hatten das Auto im Voraus über Check24 gebucht und haben genau das Auto erhalten, was wir reserviert hatten. Generell ist ein Automatik-Getriebe für Madeira sehr zu empfehlen. Der Transfer von und zum Flughafen hat wunderbar funktioniert und dauert etwa 10 Minuten. Die Mitarbeiter waren freundlich und haben sich viel Zeit genommen, die Schäden zu erklären. Hinterlegung der Kaution auch mit einer VISA Debitkarte möglich. Das Auto war sehr sauber und wir haben es schon eine halbe Stunde vor unserer eigentlichen Reservierung erhalten können. Preis-Leistungsverhältnis sehr gut im Vergleich zu den Anbietern direkt am Flughafen oder in Funchal.

Perfekte Abwicklung, top organisiert, und schnell ging es auch noch. Trotz Ankunft nachts um 3 Uhr sowohl Shuttle-Service als auch Abwicklung vor Ort unkompliziert. Ein durchweg positives Erlebnis. Das Online-Check-In funktionierte unkompliziert einwandfrei, Abholung des Autos in der City von Funchal reibungslos schnell. Auch die Rückgabe des Autos um Mitternacht hat super funktioniert. Vitor hat uns nett empfangen und im Anschluss zügig zum Flughafen gefahren. Klare Weiterempfehlung.

Prise en charge efficace à l aéroport. Tarifs intéressants pour une courte durée. Voitures en très bon état. J aurais pu enlever une étoile pour l accueil qui est un peu tendu au comptoir, mais j étais là à des heures où ils avaient bcp de clients en même temps et donc ça courait dans tous les sens je recommande !

Wir haben bei RentX für 15 Tage einen Seat Arona gebucht, einen Citroën Aircross bekommen. Sowohl die Abholung am Flughafen per Shuttle als auch die Abholung des Autos erfolgten super schnell. Ich muss zugeben ich habe schon eine Vielzahl an Mietwagen abgeholt bei diversen Vermietern abgeholt, aber ich habe noch nie ein so sauberes Auto abgeholt Respekt und das trotz 33TKM auf dem Tacho. Doch woran erkennt man eine gute Autovermietung Genau wenn es mal Probleme gibt. Wir sind an unserem vorletzten Tag am anderen Ende der Insel mit einer leuchtenden Motorkontrollleuchte liegengeblieben. Nach einem Anruf bei der Hotline und einem anschließenden kurzen WhatsApp Chat stand der Mechaniker inkl. Ersatzauto rund 1h später bereits vor uns. Auto getauscht, neuer Mietvertrag kam direkt per Mail TOP wenn ich 6 Sterne vergeben könnte dann würde ich dies auch tun ! Klare Empfehlung für eine ehrlich und sehr professionelle Autovermietung

Picked up Opel Corsa (has Android Auto) for 7days with full insurance with no deposit from rentx. No credit card needed. Paid by debit card. Pick up and drop off was easy. At drop off lady from rentx did not even checked any scratches just fuel gauge. If you want a relax vacation pick full insurance with no stress when returning the car. As for the car it lacks power when driving steep roads. I would pick next time little bit more powerful car.

Alles hat gut funktioniert. Am Flughafen muss man bei der mitgelieferten Nummer anrufen und wir dann mit einem Shuttlebus abgeholt und zur Ausleihstation gefahren, die einige Kilometer abseits des Flughafens liegt. Das Auto wurde gemeinsam mit dem Mitarbeiter genau begutachtet, der selbstständig Schaden aufgenommen hat. Laut Aussage des Mitarbeiters sind kleine Lackschäden nicht relevant, wir haben das Auto sicherheitshalber trotzdem selbst fotografiert und Schaden gefilmt. Leider war unser Flug verspätet, sodass wir erst nach 19 Uhr am Schalter ankamen. Dafür wird von RentX eine Pauschale von 30 berechnet. Da wir nicht die einzigen waren fanden wir den Preis dafür ziemlich hoch. Innerhalb kurzer Zeit wurden so 4 x 30 gezahlt von verschiedenen Kunden. Das Auto war ein kleiner Citroen mit Automatik, für Madeira absolut zu empfehlen. Leider war die Klimaanlage für die heißen Temperaturen oft zu schwach oder funktionierte nicht richtig. Die Abgabe war auch unproblematisch, das Auto wurde direkt nach abstellen gecheckt und ohne Einwände angenommen. Die relativ hohe Kaution wird einige Tage später wieder freigegeben.

RentX ist eine tolle Vermietung. Von der Buchung über Abholung bis zur Abgabe hat alles wunderbar geklappt. Alle Mitarbeitenden waren unglaublich nett und professionell. Sehr empfehlenswert!

Von Abholung am Flughafen über Mietwagen-Ausleihe bis hin zur Abgabe und Rücktransport zum Flughafen hat alles reibungslos funktioniert. Gebucht hatten wir den Wagen bereits im Vorfeld über bekannte Buchungsplattformen.

Sehr freundliche, verständisvolle und hilfsbereite Mitarbeiter, hier ist vor allem der Vittor zu erwähnen, der andere Kollege der mich abgeholt hat war auch sehr nett, nur weiß ich leider nicht der Kollege heißt. Unkomplizierte Kommunikation, man wird direkt vom Flughafen ins 4 km entfernten Machico verbracht um dort dann das Fahrzeug abzuholen. Nur hätte ich einen kleinen Verbesserungsvorschlag: bitte schafft diese schwachbrüstigen Saugbenziner mit 75 PS der Kategorie A ab. Die Motorisierung ist absolut ungeeignet für eine Insel, die zu 80% aus Hügeln und Bergen besteht, sogar auf der Autobahn. Man kommt nicht gut hoch ohne das Auto ständig quälen zu müssen, ansonsten wird man zum Verkehrshindernis. Besser wären hier min. 100 PS Turbodiesel mit mehr Drehmoment. Diese Autos Opel Corsa, Kia Rio etc. sind eher was für die Stadt mit geringen Steigungen. Man sollte finde ich persönlich immer ein Fahrzeug kriegen (egal welche Kategorie) welches zumindest sicher einen Berg hochkommt. Was sehr positiv war ist wie sauber und gepflegt die Fahrzeuge übergeben werden :) Ansonsten weiter so vielen Dank!

Sehr gute Autovermietung. Shuttle hat einen vom Flughafen abgeholt (ca. 10 Minuten Fahrt), vor Ort ging alles schnell, generell war die Abwicklung sehr einfach. Wir haben einen VW T-Cross bekommen, war super sauber und gepflegt und fuhr sich sehr gut. Die Abgabe lief auch reibungslos ab.

Perfekter Service! Das Personal war stets höflich, hilfsbereit und professionell. Unser Flug kam zu spät, der Shuttle wartete bereits am Flughafen. Die Abwicklung der Unterlagen ging schnell, da mehrere Mitarbeiter sich am Schalter drum kümmerten. Das Auto kam frisch gewaschen und gesaugt. Alle vorhandenen Schäden wurden im Vertrag bereits dokumentiert. Bei der Abgabe lief alles ebenfalls schnell und reibungslos und wir wurden direkt zum Flughafen gebracht, auch wenn der Shuttle noch nicht voll war. Sehr zu empfehlen.

I was a bit sceptical on arrival at the airport to find the car hire place was nowhere near the airport but we rang them and true to their word they were about ten minutes to pick us up in the bus and drive us to by the hire shop in Machico. Nice clean new car and for the first time ever we got the car it said in the site. Often Corsa or equivalent turns out to be a panda but nope, Corsa size was a Corsa here with decent boot space and four doors. When we dropped the car off they even offered to take us to a bar for a drink because we were a bit early. Fantastic service, would definitely use these again on our next visit to Madeira.

Toller Service und wirklich unkompliziert.

Eine sehr gute Autovermietung, die ich uneingeschränkt weiterempfehlen kann. Bereits die Kommunikation im Vorfeld war sehr nett und hilfreich und der gesamte Abhol- und Rückgabeprozess war sehr einfach. Wir hatten für zwei Wochen einen Opel Corsa gemietet, der bereits bei der Abholung einige Schrammen hatte. Diese waren jedoch bereits dokumentiert und einen weitere Schramme, die wir entdeckten, wurde von dem Mitarbeiter dann ins Übergabeprotokoll aufgenommen. Der kostenlose Shuttle vom und zum Flughafen hat problemlos funktioniert, man sollte sich aber ggf. bei der Abholung auf etwas Wartezeit einstellen (da sehr viele Reisende auf den Shuttle gewartet haben, mussten wir auf einen zweiten Shuttle warten und vor Ort bei der Vermietung stand eine kleine Schlange an).

We used this company when we visited Madeira in July. All the representatives of this firm are super friendly and very efficient. A mini van met us at the airport when we arrived on a Saturday and took us to their offices based in Machico.....which is a very short drive from the airport. The drop off was very easy. We drove to the offices at the end of our stay and were taken to the airport by a mini van. Another member of our group had used a different car rental company and they were still waiting for a driver to collect their car when we arrived at the airport with the minivan from Rent X. We would definitely use this renal firm again. One top tip is to book you rental as early as possible. We booked the last preferred sized car 3 weeks before we arrived in Madeira.

Rented a car from them for 2 days and couldn t be happier. Super smooth experience right from pickup at the airport to drop-off. Since I chose full insurance, no deposit was taken and both pick-up as well as drop-off (thanks to Viktor) took a couple of minutes as all they check is the fuel level. The car was pretty new (just 16k kms) and in great condition. It even smelt great inside which is rare for a rental. Glad I chose an automatic transmission as some of the slopes are quite steep and I couldn t be bothered with switching through gears. Super friendly staff as well. Will rent from them again when in Madeira.

Normalerweise leihe ich Fahrzeuge immer bei den großen Autovermietern aus, daher war ich anfangs sehr skeptisch. Die Skepsis war allerdings überflüssig! RentX ist wirklich ein sehr guter Autoverleih. Die Abwicklung ging super schnell, der Shuttle funktioniert auch klasse. Der Preis war unschlagbar! Auch das Personal war echt top. Wir hatten als Leihwagen einen Opel Corsa F, welcher in einem super Zustand war. Der Corsa war ein 1.2 mit 75 PS was etwas zu wenig für die steilen Berge auf Madeira war. Trotzdem hat alles geklappt. Gerne wieder!!!

Freundliches & sympathisches Personal. Haben ein sehr sauberes & frisch geputztes Auto erhalten, welches uns gut durch die bergige Landschaft auf Madeira gebracht hat. Die Abholung & das Zurückbringen liefen unkompliziert ab. Es gab allerdings einen Punkt, der mich ein wenig verärgert hatte: es fahren Shuttle vom Flughafen zum Autoverleih und wieder zurück. Wir haben 3 Anläufe gebraucht, um endlich ein Shuttle zu erhaschen. Dadurch, dass das Shuttle immer an einer anderen Stelle am Flughafen hält, muss man Glück haben, an der richtigen Stelle zu stehen. Daher kommt es öfter mal vor, dass Menschen, die erst später ankamen, früher ein Shuttle bekommen, wenn sie an der richtigen Stelle stehen. BITTE AN DAS UNTERNEHMEN: Lasst euch eine Lösung dafür einfallen - z.B. dass es immer der selbe Abholort/die selbe Einsammelstelle ist, damit sich eine Warteschlange bilden kann und man nicht ewig warten muss, weil andere mehr Glück hatten und an der richtigen Stelle standen

Unfortunately my experience was not good. First we look over the car in a dark tunnel, as I leave from renting a luxury SUV the brakes are squeaking very loudly. I called to let rentx know and their response was is it stopping, do you feel safe? I said it is stopping and I feel safe. So we listened to that for 2 weeks. Upon returning the car we look it over in the bright sunlight outside, I agree I did notice a scratch that was not there prior. However I never received an estimate from a garage on the damage and my cc was charged $611.21. My insurance company needs actual information to process a claim that I am not receiving. The response when looking the car over was we will see what the boss thinks the damage is worth. I guess I am eating this cost as rentx has not provided any real documentation. I will never recommend them. I rent cars often and wish Google had a 0 star option!

Sehr zu empfehlen am Flughafen wurden wir abgeholt und uns wurde mit einem Check up das Auto übergeben. Wir hatten 14 Tage lang einen wundervollen Urlaub mit einem wirklich tollen Peugeot 208 - keinerlei Probleme auch beim abgeben des Autos. João und alle anderen Mitarbeiter haben 5 Sterne verdient!!!!

Everything went really smooth. Got a brand new car with CarPlay! You can use Debit card for the deposit, and it was put back to my account in just one day! Returning took like 5 mins and you can get the shuttle any time, so we were able to spend time at the beach before our flight! Great experience.

Wir hatten für eine Woche unser Auto über Check24 hier gemietet. Einfache, schnelle Abwicklung mit freundlichem Personal. Das Auto war sehr gut. Wir mussten spontan um 2 Tage verlängern, da es meiner Freundin sehr schlecht ging und wir ungeplant länger auf Madeira bleiben mussten. Die Verlängerung war sehr unkompliziert und der Preis extrem fair. Wir können die Vermietung uneingeschränkt weiterempfehlen und würden hier wieder mieten.

Completely satisfied! On my Monday arrival there a lot of planes arrived in morning. BTW. As I passed on my exit I noticed a big guys (Namely 6T) have a line of about 7-8 customers waiting. Using airport free WiFi I got in touch with RentX via Whatsup and about 10 minutes later I was in charter van. After 12 minutes ride - I was at the counter and few minutes later in the car! I got exact car I booked (not a similar)- C3 Aircross with 16,000km on it. As I have coverage on my CC- I politely declined additional insurance, but!!! At the rate they offered (couple hundred) later on I thought to myself that it would not be a bad idea to get it in case I do need it and from my experience working on claim with Chase is PIA. Depending on where you plan to go -some roads on Madeira do have a debris falling on the road and parking spaces and roads tend to be tight. Return was also very fast and uneventful. Highly recommend RentX!

Experiencia muito ma, nao a nivel do carro mas das pessoas que la trabalham. Cheguei ao aeroporto tive à espera que alguem me viesse buscar ao fim de 15 min lembrei me de ligar para o nr que no dia anterior me tinha perguntado a que horas chegava o meu voo, la me mandaram um sr muito mal encarado e rude com as pessoas de passagem.. entre a espera e chegar e nao chegar as instalacoes para ir recuperar o carro coisa que tambem nao sabia, que o carro nao era levantado directamente no aeroporto, passam mais de 30 min e cobram.me 30 por ter chegado depois das 19h quando a culpa é deles de nao estarem no aeroporto a espera dos clientes à hora que sabem que o voo chega. Inadmissivel !

Wir hatten einen Opel Corsa bei RentX gemietet. Es hat alles bestens geklappt. Man wird per Shuttle ins 4km entferne Machico gefahren ( und wieder zurück). Der Papierkram ging schnell. Sehr freundliches Personal. Achtet auf alle pregnanten Stellen bzgl. Kratzern. Fotos machen! Ich hatte einen übersehen; man hat in den Vorgänger-Akten nachgeschaut. Es war ein anderer. Hätte man auch einen Fall draus machen können. Die Autos haben nicht allzu viel PS, da geht es schon mal länger im 1. Gang bergauf. Insgesamt Daumen hoch. Gute Preise bei noch besserem Service.

We rented a car with RentX for our week in Madeira. The prices are reasonable, no extra hidden fees and the customer service is impeccable! Phillip picked us up from the airport and got us all set up, not only with our rental car but with lots of great local recommendations and a bag of the delicious Madeira cookies! He was so helpful, friendly and made a very long travel day a little bit easier. We got upgraded to a Volkswagen SUV and it was like new, we loved it. When we got a flat tire, we dealt with Victor over the phone and he was also a delight to interact with. He efficiently got the roadside assistance to come help us out and we were right back to our adventures in no time. Overall this was the best experience I ve ever had at a rental car company and would recommend them to anyone!!

Had a great experience with this company, everything was very simple, from the collection at the airport to hiring and returning the car. Very friendly staff, I highly recommend.

This rental didnt start well with the car not being ready. Apart from that, this rental agency was a very pleasant experience. The shuttle runs immediately whenever needed and there were no queues at all. The staff is very friendly. No upsell tricks and no problems despite not taking the full insurance. The car was brand new, clean, and the perfect choice for exploring the island (get something reasonably small - narrow roads, tight parking and many oncoming badly driving tourists) with a powerful engine (some of the steepest roads - met folks who didnt made it uphill in their rental cars). Would rent there again when returning to Madeira.

Die Autos, das Personal und der Mietwagen im Verhältnis zum Preis war alles top. Sowie Shuttle Service zum und vom Flughafen im Preis enthalten! Warum bewerte ich nur mit 2 Sternen? Am Ende wurde versucht Kasse zu machen, alle Felgen waren zerkratzt was wir im Vertrag und auch per Foto festgehalten hatten. Trotzdem wurde versucht uns eine komplett zerkratzte Felge auf unsere Kosten nochmal abzurechnen da angeblich ein neuer Kratzer dazu gekommen ist! Zum Glück haben wir wie schon gesagt alles dokumentiert und fotografiert und konnten beweisen das die Felgen schon alle zerkratzt und mit sämtlichen Kratzern ausgestattet waren! Das ganze hat leider ein bisschen geschmäckle und System, hier wird ein Kratzer öfter als 1 mal abkassiert.

Excellent decision to choose Rentx if youre planning on renting a car in Madeira. Really happy I chose them instead of one of the larger more well known companies. Pickup from the airport and drop off was quick and efficient with a super friendly driver. The car was clean, in good condition and was exactly what I wanted. Prices are very fair, and overall is just a good service that I will definitely use again. As long as you drive carefully, and dont bring the car back in a terrible condition you shouldnt experience any problems!

Die Kommunikation, das Abholen vom Flughafen, die Fahrt zur Vermietstation (da bekommt man noch Urlaubstipps vom sehr freundlichen Fahrer ) der eigentliche Papierkram, sehr detaillierte Erklärung im Bezug auf Versicherungen und den Ablauf und auch die Rückgabe lief wunderbar einfach. Meine Erfahrung mit XRent in Machico/Madeira war durchweg positiv und machte unseren Aufenthalt auf der Insel unkompliziert und angenehm. Direkt nach der Landung haben wir XRent via WhatsApp kontaktiert, und innerhalb kurzer Zeit wurden wir vom Shuttle am Flughafen abgeholt. Das Fahrzeug trug deutlich sichtbar das lila Logo von XRent, was es leicht machte, es zu erkennen. Die Fahrt vom Flughafen zur Mietstation dauerte nur etwa 5-10 Minuten, und auf dem Weg dorthin fiel uns auf, dass eine Tankstelle nur ca. 1,5 km entfernt liegt praktisch für die letzte Betankung vor der Fahrzeugrückgabe. Das Personal bei XRent war freundlich und hilfsbereit, was den gesamten Prozess sehr angenehm gestaltete. Wir entschieden uns für einen Citroën C3, und das Auto übertraf unsere Erwartungen. Es meisterte jede Route mit Bravour egal ob bergauf oder steil bergab. Das Fahrzeug war in einem hervorragenden Zustand und bot genau die Leistung, die wir für die Erkundung Madeiras benötigten. Wow, what an exceptional experience. The drive to and from the airport was quick and very convenient. I worried that we might was time as they are located offsite but this was NOT the case. The shuttle driver gave us lots of excellent suggestions for things to do. The check-in went smoothly and Philip was generous with his time and gave us the names of his favourite restaurants around the island - we tried many and they were good! We were in Madeira for 10 days and on day 3 we realized the car we had pre-booked did not meet our needs. We called them up and they switched our car for another that had more power and as a bonus was automatic. They treated us exceptionally fairly in switching us to this better car. Wow, this extraordinary service not only made our day but completely changed our driving experience and rescued our vacation. RentX really came through for us. Thank you!

Car was more or less OK, though the tires resembled slicks and Madeiras topography would ask for a stronger motorization fro small cars as well. Having to climb up the hills in first gear isnt fun. The reason for the negative review is their policy of charging a night fee if you return the car before 8:30 - although the office was obviously in full operation. Many customers have to return their car before 8:30 because a lot of flights leave in the morning - so this seems to be a way to charge some extra money if customers bring back the car earlier.

Rented the Cupra Formentor and it did not let us down for the price and the insurance included. Car was in perfect condition and took less than 10 mins to walk out with the keys. Upon drop off at 2am i was greeted by Vitor. Vitor was very friendly and polite, Had a good laugh with him whilst dropping the car off mid night and on the way to the airport. Not a single problem even though the brake check light came on in the last day. Signed the documents within 4 mins of dropping the car off. All employees are very respectful, Well dressed and well cultured. Covered more than 1.6k km in 6 full days at the age of 19. Couldnt have asked for a better company to deal with in Madeira.

Les conditions météo à Madère ont rendu impossible notre atterrissage à Funchal . Trop de vent .... Bref atterrissage prévu à 11h.... Retour à Lisbonne pour atterrir le surlendemain à 1 h du matin !!! Sortie de l Aéroport à 1h 30 après l épreuve des bagages...... ( Une autre Aventure.....) We rented a car from here and had a flat tire during our rental period. We were overcharged with 390 euros for one flat tire. That type of tire can easily be bought at 80 euros so the amount of money they requested was 4 times higher than the normal price.

Ganz guter Autovermieter, unkomplizierte Abwicklung. Die Fahrzeuge werden in Machico übergeben, das heisst, dass ein Shuttle fortlaufend zwischen der Autovermietung und dem Flughafen verkehrt. In der Regel wartet man nicht länger als 10-20 Minuten. Das gilt auch für die Rückgabe, man wird als auch wieder zum Flughafen chauffiert. Gute und neue Fahrzeuge, ich selber hatte einen Citroen C3 Handschalter mit 110 PS. Dieses Fahrzeug ist perfekt für Madeira, klein und kompakt und dennoch ein leistungsstarker Motor. Auch größte Steigungen waren kein Problem, auch auf der Autobahn hat man genügend Leistungssreserven. Ich empfehle eine Handyhalterung mitzubringen, da die Fahrzeuge kein Navigationssystem habe - meiner Meinung nach ist Googlemaps sowieso am besten Gerne wieder, volle Empfehlung.

Friendly staff - good car rental experience with RentX. We rented Citroen crossover with automatic transmission for $13.50 euro/day (lowest price anywhere) and they didn t push the optional full coverage insurance that all other rental companies everywhere scare renters into getting for a lot more. I wish they noted on their site or in the email after booking (directly from their website) that you need to call them for pickup from airport - waited for them at the airport for 35 minutes and then had to spend $18 on taxi.

We rented a Peugeot 308. It was a nice car with some cool features but the brakes were very squeaky and there was no windshield liquid. The pickup from the airport took some time, we called the place and had to wait over 20 min outside the airport for the shuttle. Similarly, the shuttle back to the airport also took some time.

We rent audi a1(automat) via discovercars and it was a good choise in a good firm! Here you can rent a car without any deposit but in this case you shoud buy full insurance(15 /day). On this roads it will be cery helpful :D Recommend!
