Scammers. Will never be using Avis again. They falsely charged for coverage after we specifically denied the insurance. They added it behind our back and charged us an extra $800 without our authorization. We have been calling and trying to contact someone to resolve this for months and and getting the typical runaround. We have not received any response nor our money back. Shame to be doing this to people and taking advantage! We would like to be refunded immediately. (Margarida Monteiro - Rental Agreement starting on 11/28/24 - 12/7/24)
The rental was generally fine, but they shoved a bit of paper in front of me to sign when I returned ... check my email back home and my signature is at the bottom of an incomprehensible bill, not for very much, but it was not what I signed. Turns out it was simply that my prepayment didn't cover the rental. What's that about? This hasn't happened with other companies. They should tell you what you are signing, and life is too short when you have a plane to catch, to read their legalese - which wouldn't make sense anyway.
[Emailed in response to reply below, have received zero response] I'm hoping this gets your attention since I cannot get a hold of anyone. I will change my review if I am able to find resolution. We booked a package rental through Booking.com. After our travel was complete, we had an (expected) $120 charge after-- tolls, border (E20), fill up. However, a month after our trip, another $85 charge showed up. I didn't worry too much and just contacted cutsomer service of Avis. First I was told to wait 15 business days. Then after 17, told it is 15-30. After 30, told give it up to 45 business days. At 52 business days I said it's time to provide the refund given they have not provided any additional info, only repeatedly asked me to keep waiting. After that final submission, I was told to call the Porto Avis. That incurs me significant international fees by the minute, and who knows how long I'll be on hold or having this long conversation. There is no way on avis.com.pt website to communicate except by phone. When pulling up my reservation, there is no additional way to communicate either. Only receive another copy of my invoice which does not flow with the charges we received. Reading other reviews here it looks like they offer social media communications, which I do not use. Overall the experience was good, car was good, people were polite, little hectic getting in and out but it was busy and I get it during high season. I hope this gets your attention and we can find a way to communicate respectively.
Be careful. They charged me an additional €2500 to upgrade to a slightly better vehicle for seven days. It was explained to me that this was just a credit card hold but upon returning the vehicle they charged the full amount (around €3000 for a Volvo, for a week!). Total fraud. I would never rent from this Avis outlet, or any other after this experience. Really shameful behaviour. I am beyond disgusted.
I would give it a zero star if i could. The worst customer service i’ve ever had in my life. We didn’t collect the car on the day we booked it due to to the fires, but we advised our travel agent of the delay. I called them to check about picking it up and the man on the phone said “ no, it has been rebooked” - i said how is that possible, we’ve paid for it for 10 days”. He responded, no it’s been rebooked” and hung up on me!! No sympathy for the situation, no offer of a new car (even one we have to pay for if that’s the policy), no resolution. Leaving us stranded with two young children. So exceptionally rude. I’m in the travel industry and i would advise everyone to avoid this company.
Avis staff at Porto airport didn't explain anything about the vehicle on pickup, including how the Via Verte toll charging system works. Because I didn't know, I received a 30 Euros fine for using the wrong lane. Upon return, the agent simply said that they had no mandatory duty to tell customers about it! Great customer service - NOT Further to my poor experience with Avis including never receiving any reply to multiple emails from me, someone called David at Avis contacted via this Google channel to say that they always respond to social media messages! But he didn't mention that they never respond to emails! Why can't Avis send me an email- they have my customer details. As I said, Avis aren't interested in responding to customers.
My rental was handled efficiently and quickly. The process was a little delayed due to there being only one agent in Porto but otherwise he was knowledgeable and helpful. Very polite and respectful. The car was in good condition. I didn't encounter any issues. Pricing is an issue as sometimes pricing is extremely high which makes renting unaffordable for the duration of the vacation.
Total scam. Look for any other rental place We were charged €600 for a scratch that we did not make. The car had other severe damage on the sides (see photo #1), clearly done by someone who did not know how to drive this car around columns or small areas. Avis claims they had documented these damages. When returning the car, they charged this ridiculous amount us for another (smaller) scratch that they claim they ‘had not documented’. This scratch is also a result of hitting another car or a column when parking (see photo #2). We simply drove from airport to countryside, and countryside to airport. I know we did not make this scratch The rude Avis employee only told us that we should have taken a video of the car before using it. There was a severe thunderstorm the day we picked it up. Am I supposed to stand in the rain and document the state of the car? Isn’t your job to take photos and document it? Of course they say they do not have a video or photos of the car either…so why is the burden of proof on me?? You just cannot trust them to do their job honestly. What a scam Avis is supposed to be a more ‘premium’ rental company compared to budget companies. Nothing further from reality. They are simply robbing us Also they provided a completely different type of car than what we booked, but who cares at this point…
Beware of up selling there in house insurance as I was. Told me my insurance through booking.com was valid if damage to vehicle
Esperienza con AVIS partita con il piede positivo in aeroporto ci ha serviti Alexandra S. è stata molto chiara e precisa nel darci le informazioni sulla macchina. Ci è stata consegnata una macchina nuova con cambio automatico. Rapporto qualità prezzo direi ottima ! Tra tutti i rent a car mi sono sempre affidata ad Avis.

Tive que pagar valores diferentes do que havia contratado e ainda fui obrigado a fazer novo seguro, pois o atendente alegou que com meu seguro eu teria que pagar 2.500 euros de franquia
Péssima, má vontade,aluguei um carro ,na devolução tudo ok, tudo verificado, só que depois estão me cobrando combustível , (completei o tanque 7 km antes do aeroporto) suplemento de estação de aluguel,um absurdo, não alugo mais nada na Avis,tomem muiiiiiiiito cuidado
Fiz aluguel de veiculo com Alexandra Silva no aeroporto OPO, e o atendimento foi excelente. Sanou todas minhas duvidas, e me guiou para melhor escolha! A entrega do veiculo tambem foi tranquila. Está 4 estrelas porque o carro precisa fazer alinhamento/balanceamento e nas estradas cheias de curvas do norte, impactou minha viagem.
NÃO ALUGUEM NA AVIS / BUDGET!!! Pessima experiência e ainda com um prejuízo enorme ! Fiz a reserva e o valor era de EUR 224,00. No balcão de atendimento o atendente informou um outro valor e informamos que era sem seguro.. Mas informou que o sistema que informava o valor e que após a devolução do carro o valor seria devolvido, pois esse era o valor de bloqueio como garantia.. Foram bloqueados mais de EUR 800,00 no meu cartão de crédito ! Questionamos mais de uma vez.. Utilizo as palavras dele: Fiquem tranquilo, pois é só o valor do bloqueio e esse valor irá voltar.. FOMOS INDUZIDOS A ASSINAR.. Pois com a fila, o contrato era na tela do atendente e ainda com a falta de paciência.. Ele ainda circulou o montante que pagaríamos e o montante que iria supostamente retornar para o cartão.. Ligando no atendimento fui informando que o atendente adicionou seguro sem o nosso consentimento! Isso é um absurdo, falta de caráter, má fé e a AVIS / BUDGET não querem resolver..
Scandalosi mi hanno fatto pagare 194,00 euro per due ore di ritatdo rispetto all orario di consegna. Sul contratto non c è scritto nulla di tutto questo. Il noleggio complessivo per 7 giorni è stato di 238,00 euro e per due ore di ritatdo rispetto alla consegna programmata mi fate pagare 194,00 euro!!! Scandalosi!!! Non mi è mai capitata una cosa del genere!!! Affittate le auto dai lowcost e non dalle compagnie blasonate costano meno e per due ore di ritardo non ho mai pagato nulla!!!
Quanto ao servico oferecido na retirada do veiculo, tudo ok. Porem na devolucao, estava fechada e fui obrigado a deixar a chave, até aqui, tudo normal, porém o estabelecimento estando fechado, o servico de transporte para o aeroporto nao estava disponivel. Tivemos que ir a pé, com a temperatura 1,5 graus, e, logicamente, uma roda de uma das malas quebrou, visto que nao é feita para andar na rua, longos trajetos. Como nós (minha familia com duas criancas), tinham outras pessoas. No site, nao tinha nenhuma informacao de variacao de horario e todas as outras agencias de aluguel de carro estavam funcionando normalmente. Uma total falta de respeito. Melhor pagar um pouco mais e alugar o veiculo de uma agencia mais séria.
Statt des gebuchten VW wollte man uns den deutlich kleineren Ford aufbrummen. Gern könne ich aber für 25 am Tag upgraden. Erst nach langer Diskussion bekam ich das gebuchte Fahrzeug. Eine Übergabe fand nicht statt. Die unversehrtheit des Pkw unterschreibt man ohne ihn gesehen zu haben. Ich hab einige Schrammen gefunden und viele Fotos gemacht. Bestimmt gibt das Theater. 6 Stunden nach Rückgabe habe ich noch nichts gehört. Nicht einmal den Empfang des Fahrzeugs bestätigt. AVIS => NIE WIEDER 3 Wochen nach Rückgabe: Avis blockt 80 auf der Kreditkarte. Wofür weiß ich noch nicht, den nach eurer vor hab ich von den Verein nix gehört. Ich sag doch das gibt Theater.... Saftladen NUN HAT AVIS AUCH NOCH EINEN ANGEBLICHEN SCHADEN ABGERECHNET Jetzt gibts noch einen Rechtsstreit. Unglaubliche Abzocke!!< Nächster Nachtrag: es soll eine Schramme an der Spiegelkappe sein. Jegliche Beule im Blech hätte ich mit Fotos widerlegen können. An den Spiegelkappen ist nichts passiert, leider sind die letzten 2 cm der Kappen nicht auf den Fotos. Auf dem Video der Rückgabe ist nichts zu sehen. Leute, lässt die Finger von AVIS
Buenas tardes, os aconsejo que tengáis mucho cuidado con AVIS en el aeropuerto de Oporto. Nos quieren cargar más de 200 euros, por un roce de menos de 5cm en la llanta, acusando que lo hemos realizado nosotros. Os adjunto la foto para que veáis a qué nivel de detalle pueden llegar para poder sacarle al cliente el dinero. Aquí les adjunto también la factura y el detalle, una auténtica barbaridad. Y por último esta es la respuesta recibida por parte de AVIS. Lo dicho, muy atentos a los alquileres de coches con la empresa AVIS Saludos
Shuttle right in front of the arrival exit, reception of the vehicle very good, impeccable welcome, rental for 7 days fiat 500.95 euros by Booking.com, final price 411 euros insured. I was debited one month after 17th of fees??? I recommend booking through the Avis website.

Très mauvaise expérience chez AVIS à Lisbonne. Faites bien létat des lieux du véhicule lors de sa prise de possession. Je soupçonne les employés sur place de retirer sciemment, lessuie-tout glace arrière pour que ce dernier vous soit facturé à la restitution. Résultat 234 euros pour un essuie glace, qui de plus nest pas couvert par lassurance de votre carte, sagissant dun accessoire du véhicule. Je déconseille.

Just look at all of these awful reviews I cannot fathom. I ve always rented a car through SIXT, but had to use Avis because they could accomodate our last minute request. Kept my credit card holding deposit of 3000 PLUS the charge of the car rental. Disputed with American Express and they ve agreed that it was fraudulent and credited me 3000. Avis said that the 3000 was for the charge for an additional driver what a load of crap. Use SIXT car rental instead.
Une catastrophe !! La voiture que l on a commandé n est pas celle que l on nous donne. Je demande un changement car mobilité réduite. On me le refuse en me disant qu on m a surclassé. Je n ai pas eu ce que je voulais. Les gens sont désagréables. A fuir.
Agent added additional services saying they were only a deposit while we clearly stated we wanted no additional charge above what we had booked online (and prepaid) + deposit. felt scammed.
Unethical. Do not rent from here. The prepaid gas option is not presented as an option and misrepresented by ALL. I heard multiple customers be told by different people that any unused portion would be refunded. Its not what I am used to so I had my agent repeat it. When I returned the car, I checked again with the person receiving the car. Everyone says the same thing, but it is not true. Obviously, the staff is being trained to mislead in this way. To top it off, my $214 rental that became $274 thanks to the deception showed up as $308 on our credit card account. I called their customer service and it is under review.
Veículo pretendido não estava disponível. O atendente solucionou nos oferecendo um que nos atendeu perfeitamente. Fiz seguro total , talvez por isso não tenham feito vistoria na liberação do veículo.
Ao vermos aqui diversos comentários negativos ficamos um pouco apreensivos antes de usufruir do serviço mas felizmente a nossa experiência foi boa, pessoal simpático valores cobrados conforme o combinado sem nenhuma surpresa. Sem dúvida para a próxima ocasião vai ser uma empresa para voltar a alugar um carro.
Unlike other rentals, AVIS has their parking lot gate opened, making it much easier on the return if your flight is outside of working hours. Service at the counter is good

Was tricked into paying 400 euros for insurance, it was already covered in agreement. Next time Ill read the contract and not trust staff. LOL your response perfectly exemplifies my issue with your service. I said next time I will read the contract and you respond should have read the contract. BY THE WAY, we rented from Guerin Enterprise in Azores for 3 days, extra insurance was 14 Euro, yours was 404 euro for 8 days. I was ripped off, just leave it at that!

I am a many years Avis preferred client. We got a car in the complete dark. Next day we saw there where some spots on the paint. We mentioned this after we delivered the car. When we were 10 minutes gone, we got a huge bill. Completely crazy. I think I rented at least 50+ times at Avis never experienced anything like this before. Very disappointing!!

Aucun problème, navette très rapide et pratique, prise en charge de la voiture très rapide également (30min), et rendre la voiture sans soucis. Par contre prenez bien des photos des éventuelles rayures de la voiture car ils ne font rien apparaitre sur le contrat mais il faut justifier quand vous rendez la voiture. La personne parlait français ce qui est très pratique.
O carro atribuído diferente do reservado, com transtorno com as bagagens e carrinho de bebé. Avaria nas primeiras 24h, e sem sucesso nos contactos para assistência em viagem como com a estação do Aeroporto do Porto. Embora tendo sido atribuído outro carro, não foi possível entregar a viatura com depósito atestado, que apesar das motivações técnicas, fomos informados que haveria lugar a um custo adicional.

Cancelaram a minha reserva no dia da retirada, sendo que cumpri todos os requisitos informados na reserva. Não informaram o motivo e me aconselharam a entrar em contato com o site por onde efetuar a reserva (rentcars). Cobraram 100% do valor mesmo não retirando o carro, descaso total.
Son unos ladrones, tengo acuerdo de precio y reserva escrito por email y al llegar allí me han cobrado 4 veces más y se rehusan a devolver el dinero... sin contar que para que te den el coche tienes que perder una hora esperando
Poor service, you spend a lot of time waiting and waiting (1h to receive my car when I arrive) . Only one employee was very polite when I arrived to pick up the car. Otherwise very poor service. There are like 10 people in the office and only one is working, that does not make sense. Rent a car to another service.

Questa la nostra ultima esperienza (forse ultima in assoluto) con il noleggio di un auto AVIS.Abbiamo prenotato sul sito ufficiale AVIS un auto a noleggio come di consueto con molti mesi di anticipo, pagando al momento della prenotazione. Arriviamo al punto AVIS all aeroporto di Porto e iniziamo il check in. L addetto prepara i primi fogli poi ci dice che deve andare a cercare un auto e che è un problema. Restiamo in attesa un quarto dora, alla fine torna e corregge A MANO il contratto che aveva preparato dicendoci che l auto prevista non è disponibile e che ci ha trovato una FORD FOCUS STATION. Non esattamente l auto che abbiamo scelto, sulla carta una Renault Captur. Chiediamo se è possibile fare un altra scelta e ci dice che non ci sono auto a disposizione. Dopo vari minuti di correzioni ci viene presentato il contratto base completamente corretto a penna, dove l iniziale Renault KANGOO (ma noi avevamo scelto una Captur!) veniva sostituita con la Ford. Facciamo buon viso a cattivo gioco e andiamo verso l auto. Il piazzale dell AVIS risulta effettivamente e desolatamente vuoto, sono presenti solo tre auto e la Ford Focus nera assegnataci per 4 giorni alla modica cifra di 750 euro. L auto ha all incirca tre anni (ricerca su internet del tipo di targa adottata in Portogallo) e quasi 47.000 chilometri, la carrozzeria è interamente ricoperta di graffi , zone scrostate e mancante del coperchietto che copre il gancio traino anteriore. Aprendola la situazione non migliora, i sedili posteriori sono macchiati e c è la presenza di ciocche di capelli (vedi foto). Torniamo in ufficio e veniamo affiancati da un addetto che ci conferma che non ci sono altre auto a disposizione. Nel piazzale ci sono due auto, una con targa spagnola e una con targa francese non noleggiabili. Inoltre una Peugeot 2008 mai presa in considerazione dagli addetti. Chiediamo se l auto è stata sanificata e la risposta è immagino di si . Viene comunque riportata nella zona lavaggio per la pulizia dei sedili posteriori. Torna dopo pochi minuti nelle identiche condizioni della partenza (capelli compresi) ma con una piccola zona del sedile posteriore umida (avranno provato a smacchiare?). Nel frattempo sono le 9 passate e il contratto dice che abbiamo ritirato l auto alle 8:30. Noi, i bagagli e i capelli partiamo per i nostri 4 giorni on the road. L auto non e comodissima, la frizione durissima per un auto diesel e le stradine dei piccoli centri Portoghesi avrebbero preferito un auto piu compatta. I motore non freschissimo ha dei vuoti di carburazione ai bassi regimi. Guardiamo incuriositi i documenti in dotazione e ci accorgiamo che manca la copia del LIBRETTO DI CIRCOLAZIONE, che in nessun documento è presente il nome AVIS, che manca un adesivo, un disco orario marchiato AVIS, un riferimento qualsiasi alla compagnia di noleggio. Anche la chiave dell auto, a differenza di tutte le altre volte che abbiamo noleggiato una macchina, non ha il consueto portachiavi con il logo, manca semplicemente di tutto, è la chiave pura e semplice tra l altro piccolissima e facile da perdere (vedi foto). Durante il viaggio abbiamo notato molte auto facilmente individuabili come EUROPCAR, SIXT e ENTERPRISE nuove e dei modelli che ci aspettavamo che sarebbero costate come, se non meno di quella assegnataci. Ma noi alla fine abbiamo puntato alla sicurezza e qualità del servizio .. Percorriamo in ogni modo 2.000 chilometri in 4 giorni e portiamo l auto all aeroporto di Lisbona con qualche affanno entro l orario previsto. Ci mettiamo in fila nel marasma che contraddistingue il punto AVIS nel parcheggio sotterraneo e facciamo l ispezione della consegna. Alla fine ci vengono addebitati 3 euro per aver ritardato 10 minuti. Lasciamo perdere questo piccolo dettaglio e lasciamo l aeroporto. Nulla di tragico, ma molte piccole e grandi cose sull auto e sulle strutture AVIS che non ci saremmo aspettati viste le precedenti esperienze. Piccole e grandi cose che ci faranno fare valutazioni diverse al prossimo noleggio.

Venho por meio desta manifestar minha insatisfação com os serviços prestados pela Avis durante meu último aluguer de veículo. Fiz um aluguer com previsão de custo de 250 , mas fui surpreendido com uma cobrança de quase 1.500 . Esse valor não foi previamente autorizado por mim e não foi bem explicado no momento do aluguer. Além disso, não houve clareza nas alternativas de seguros oferecidas. Tentamos resolver a situação amigavelmente e entramos em contato com o Avis Customer Service, mas fomos informados de que o valor se manteria e que seria necessário pagá-lo. Isso é inaceitável, especialmente considerando que a caução deixada no momento do aluguer ainda não foi devolvida após mais de meio mês. Estamos extremamente insatisfeitos com a falta de transparência e a má qualidade do atendimento que recebemos(no acto da devolução do automóvel) Este serviço está muito aquém do padrão que conhecemos e esperamos da Avis, uma empresa que outrora era reconhecida pela sua excelência mercado.
Spent an hour waiting for the shuttle bus to be picked up from the airport. The rest of the service its fine. However the rest of the companies had a shuttle every 5 minutes
Horrible experience turning car in days early. At mercy of emailing customer service. Once Avis has your money, good luck with customer service! Guess this is sadly all in the fine print, electronically!

Nul une réservation fait a mon nom et je paye avec la carte de mon épouse et ils le refusent et me force a payer en plus pour avoir la voiture, je n ai jamais vu ça a fuir absolument. Dans tout mes 30 ans de voyages je n ai jamais vue un service aussi nul.
DO NOT USE THIS CAR RENTAL AGENCY. After rental they add on extra charges that were not mentioned previously. They also added a late return fee even when the car was delivered on time. They keep the entire value for the fuel even if the car is delivered with gas. Expect your bill to be tripled if you rent here
Hemos llamado por teléfono antes de ir a la oficina y nos dijeron que reserváramos sin seguro y que lo añadamos en la oficina porque sale mas económico. El precio del seguro era según la llamada y el mail era de 20 euros el día. Cuando llegamos a la oficina para añadir el seguro nos dijeron que eran 64. Nos han timado y encima no nos quisieron dar ninguna compensación por triplicarnos el precio.
No issues at all with Porto airport pick up or drop off. Only gripe was that the costs were not explained in full at pick up or drop off. Estimated cost given, but then bill we received when back in UK has added another 20 euros which I assume is because we drove into Spain from Portugal, but this is not described as such on the bill and was not asked at pick up / drop off (even though wed said beforehand that we may do this). Clearer descriptions of what each individual cost refers to would help understand.

Parle exclusivement en anglais,rapidement Vous pose la question pour une assurance, sans attendre une réponse, vous la met doffice au résultat quand vous rendez le véhicule 500 supplémentaire avec le mail dun service client pour réclamation. Veículo em péssimo estado com riscos em todos para-choques, portas e jantes. Passado 1 mês da devolução enviam fatura para reparação de danos que não foram causados por mim nem mencionados na vistoria exaustiva aquando da entrega...
Nous avons loué avec ma famille une voiture il y a 15 jours , notre sommes arrivés en retard car lavion était en retard . La personne a laccueil ( Bruno .G) nétait pas content de notre retard ! désolé mais ce nest pas moi le pilote davion.... Aucun check in fait lors de la récupération du véhicule cest un peu dangereux pour la caution. Ensuite nous avions réservé une golf break ou similaire nous avons eu une Seat Leon . Le prix de ces deux voitures nest pas égale difficile de sentendre sur la notion de similaire. Je rajoute quand même 1 étoile car le transport navette sest bien passée et nous navons pas eu de de problème avec le véhicule.

Bonjour, Je souhaite préciser que ce commentaire ne concerne pas lagence AVIS de Porto, par laquelle je suis passé, mais bien lentreprise AVIS dans son ensemble. Étant donné quil nest pas possible de laisser un commentaire directement sur le site de la société, je le fais ici. Je suis extrêmement déçu par votre service. Vous avez prélevé par erreur 1119 sur mon compte en confondant mes coordonnées bancaires avec celles dune autre réservation. En temps qu étudiant, cette somme est bien évidement très conséquente pour moi. Bien que jai finalement été remboursé après une semaine, cette situation est inacceptable. De plus, les échanges avec votre service client ont été surréalistes. Lorsque jai appelé pour obtenir des nouvelles de mon dossier de remboursement, un employé ma répondu : Si toutes les personnes dans votre situation appelaient, on ne sen sortirait pas. Lorsque jai évoqué la possibilité dun geste commercial pour compenser cette situation, la réponse a été : Nous vous remboursons une somme déjà conséquente, nous verrons cela après. Cette somme conséquente nest que mon propre argent, qui me revient de droit. Après toutes les démarches entreprises, je nai obtenu aucun geste compensatoire pour cette situation. Je recommande vivement déviter le groupe AVIS, car vos coordonnées bancaires pourraient être utilisées par erreur pour une autre réservation, comme cela mest arrivé.

J ai loué un véhicule pour un week-end au Portugal, je me vois trois semaines après être prélevé de 26 . Je ne trouve pas ça honnête de leur part car le véhicule a été rendu en excellent état vu avec un agent Avis et avec le plein.Document à l appui. Impossible de joindre un conseiller pour trouver une solution, dès lors que vous avez mis votre empreinte de carte bancaire, on peut vous prélever de tout et n importe quoi sans justification. Très déçu par cette société qui plus est ne parle que le portugais.
1 a reserva foi feita com uma carta visa premium a qual nao ha segura a acrescentar resumindo obrigaram a pagar un seguro a 387.18 pur 7 dias sorte que eu nao estava e a pessoa que estava nao sabia. 2 carro sem defeitos aparentes a entrega ninguem foi confirmar e acabo por receber uma fatura de 655.60 a pagar pois o carro esta danificado... e viva a pulemica do entrega o carro e depois confirmamos e por falta a pessoa nao ftografou nem filmos antes da entrega nem a entrega do carro.... conclusao pagar um seguro e um montante de reparacao sem tao pouco ter causado o que fosso. ficou a licao de que confianca e impossivel dar pois metem-nos nas costas um divida a pagar que nada foi feito pa a acausar.

Har försökt nå dem från 18:00-24:00 per telefon ingen svarar även om de har öppet. Missat Connecting flight pågrund av Lufthansa 2 timmar försenat och kan därför inte hämta bilen samma kväll 23:30. Kommer dagen efter klockan 10:25 å då har jag inte rätt till att få min tredagars bokning eller bilen. Varför svarar de inte när de har öppet, det har andra uthyrnings företag gjort på samma ställe. Hyr bil 12 gånger per år minst i Porto. Väldigt besviken på så fint varumärke som Avis.
We returned the car with the fuel tank full but they said there were 3 liters missing while the level indicator of the car show tank full. Because of this they charge you a fine of 18 euros. I do not recommend this company.

Am Sonntag-Nachmittag scheint die Mannschaft von AVIS/BUDGET etwas müde zu sein. Als einziger Kunde betrat ich den Empfang und ging direkt zum Quick-Schalter, wurde zum Normal-Annahme geschickt und von dort wieder zurück. Da mußte wohl zuerst ein Videospiel beendet und gelöscht werden. Dann begann die Prozedur nach einigen Minuten. Ich erhielt ein sehr gepflegtes Auto (Renault Captur) mit ein paar Kratzern aber weder einen Vertrag noch eine Schadensliste. Also mußte ich wieder in den Empfang, wo mittlerweile eine andere Person am Quick-Schalter saß. Der andere stand außerhalb, wurde gerufen und kam mit der Zusage, daß alles bereits per Mail an mich gesandt sei. Allerdings ist bis heute - 5 Tage danach - noch nichts bei mir angekommen. Die Rückgabe verlief schnell und einfach, ebenso der Shuttle zum Flughafen.

Hice la reserva a través de easyjet. 1. Ofrecen recogida y devolución en la Terminal y es un bus lanzadera como los demás. 2. Contrato el vehículo y un seguro Premium a través de la aplicación y al llegar allí me dicen que no tengo seguro ninguno. Para el cual me reservan casi 250 , a la entrega del vehículo compruebo la tarjeta y me tienen reservado 503 + 200 de fianza que todavía no se me han devuelto. 3. El mismo día de la entrega recibo una factura, en la cual lo anteriormente pagado coche+seguro, es tan solo un anticipo del importe total del coste, del que no se me informó en ningún momento. He alquilado en muchas ocasiones vehículos a través de la aplicación de easyjet, y nunca me había sucedido esto. Ni la recomiendo ni volveré a alquilar yo misma un coche en esta compañía.
Sin motivo alguno no me devuelven el dinero total de la fianza

Muito má experiência, fui la alugar um carro que tive que prolongar o aluguer, como tinha dado um cartão multibanco e não de crédito alegavam que não podiam prolongar o aluguer porque não tinham autorização para ir debitar diretamente de um cartão multibanco, devido à minha situação profissional e pessoal não me era possível passar no balcão pois ao fim de 5 dias de prolongamento de aluguer quando todos os dias eu falava com eles estava eu e os meus filhos na morada de um familiar quando recebo uma chamada da AVIS a dizer que estão atrás do carro para o levar, volto a salientar eu não estava na minha morada por isso eles usaram o GPS do carro para saber onde estava, e deixaram me a mim e aos meus filhos a pe, sendo que eu tinha alugado um carro por 44 por dia, passado de uma semana de terem vindo buscar o carro, FORAM A MINHA CONTA sem autorização para tal porque o cartão continuava a ser MULTIBANCO e serviram se de 1405.20 !! Por mais 5 dias de aluguer de 44 cada!! Deixaram me com saldo negativo e nem sequer uma chamada da parte deles tive. Agora pergunto para prolongar o aluguer não tem autorização para mexer num cartão MULTIBANCO mas para irem se servir de 1405,20 já está tudo bem e já o podem fazer? Pois de minha parte já fiz queixa na polícia, e irei prosseguir com o processo e pedir indemnização por danos morais!!!! Pois deixaram me a mim e aos meus filhos a pé numa área que não tem transportes, senti me perseguida pois não tinham como saber onde eu estava sem ser pelo rastreado do carro, para além de ter ficado com montante negativo no banco por eles terem feito algo sem autorização. AVIS NUNCA MAIS!!

La prise en charge à l aéroport est rapide grâce à des navettes toutes les 5 minutes. De plus, le véhicule que nous avions était moderne avec une boîte automatique ce qui est très agréable à conduire. Pour finir, le retour à l agence c est fait très rapidement et la personne au comptoir était agréable.

À ne surtout pas faire ! Véhicule avec pneu abîmé, jantes abîmé même si le tour du véhicule a été fait par le loueur qui bien sûr na rien dit. Absence dinformation sur la location donc du coup en rendant le véhicule. Et des personnes très désagréables à en venir aux mains mais vu les commentaires jaurais dû y faire attention avant. Aller chez sixt un peu plus cher mais très correct et très avenant.

Après avoir mis un 5 étoiles, je mets un 0/5. Jai réservé sur internet pour un montant précis et AVIS me facture 100 Euros plus cher la location. 10 jours pour avoir un mail sans aucune explication, jattends la deuxième réponse mais délai de 10 jours chez Avis ! Lamentable dessayer descroquer ses clients de cette façon en prélevant directement sur leur compte !

Like many others here, I had a horrible experience dropping off the car. The car we got had plenty of damage, so I took a few photos of them beforehand. When we dropped the car off, we were told we were responsible for SO MANY of these damages! Basically every single dent and scratch my photos didn t cover, we were held accountable for them. I didn t remember to take photos of the wheels, despite some scratches visible in some pictures, and of course we were held accountable for more rim scratches, even though we ve never even parked the car near a sidewalk. We were also held accountable for a whole missing rear bumper , when the towing cap fell off while driving because of previous bumper damage. 500 for a new bumper when all we did was drive an already damaged car? Why am I being held accountable for other peoples careless driving? Everything about this felt scammy, unfriendly and unprofessional. I particularly love the idle fee , a massive fee they charge you because when you have the car, no one else can rent it so it s considered idle Avis, that s called renting a car . Avoid this place, and avoid Avis if you can. The only good thing about this Porto location was the sweet and helpful lady at the counter when we first picked the car up.

Wir haben ein Fahrzeug erhalten mit einem Kratzer an der Felge. Eine Übergabe des Fahrzeuges erfolgte nicht. Leider habe ich kein Foto vom Kratzer gemacht. Bei der Rückgabe wurde mir der Kratzer in Rechnung gestellt. Hier ist Vorsicht geboten. Die Abläufe bei der Übergabe und Rückgabe des Fahrzeug in Bezug auf Schäden sind sehr intransparent. Hier gibt es ein weites Feld um zusätzlich Gewinn zu generieren. Avis nie wieder.

Reservamos uma viatura com antecedência efectuamos o Check-in online, efectuamos o pagamento e o nosso voo atrasou e chegamos depois das 00h e não conseguimos levantar a viatura porque estava o balcão fechado e sem informações. Lamentavel.Quando efectuamos a reserva demos o número do voo, estabelecemos contacto via telefónica e garantiram que se houvesse atrasos havia sempre alguem para nos receber. Tentamos estabelecer contacto telefónico diversas vezes e sempre sem sucesso.

The car and service were good. Avis policy regarding auto damage is another matter. I chose not to take Avis insurance at the time of rental, preferring instead to pay for any damage I might cause. I did not expect however that this would be a profit center for Avis, which the return inspector confirmed. I paid over 300 for a very minor wheel rim scrape. Close to half the charge was for the vehicle being unavailable for rental while being repaired. I appreciate that should this damage ever be repaired the vehicle would be out of service for a short time and unable to generate revenue for Avis. However, and as the inspector noted, this repair would only be fixed when there are « many » other repairs need, for efficiency. Thereby allowing Avis to charge multiple customers for the same « out of service » need. Profit before customer. What a terrible experience. You lost my business.
Escroc, fuyez. Nous avons rendu le véhicule à 5h du matin à cause de notre vol tôt le matin. Nous avons pris en photo et filmé lintégralité du véhicule, qui montre que les jantes sont sans aucune rayure. Lagence fait le mort et ne répond pas, ne prend pas en compte nos photos et vidéos datées. Lagent qui a fait la restitution marcio, que nous navons jamais vu, à envoyé des photos du même modèle de véhicule mais visiblement pas le nôtre dans son compte rendu, avec une rayure sur une jante, dans le but de nous facturer. On nous facture donc une rayure sur jante alliage à 250euros (sans parler du fait qu au Portugal cela coûte 50euros :D) Pour résumer, les prix sint inférieurs aux autres agences mais on vous facture des frais fantômes pour rattraper, il vaut mieux loyer avec une agence de confiance. Service clients 0, jai demandé les factures et preuves des réparations sur le véhicule loué qe nous avons soi disant abîmé, mais comme ce sont des escrocs et que tout à été inventé, forcément personne ne répond et je ne reçois aucun document :) Bref, le bon marché coûte toujours plus cher

We had a good experience with Avis at Oporto airport. Our car was clean and only had a few scratches. The service at the desk was kind, respectful and answered all our questions. Only the window cleaning liquid in the car wasnt filled up, we had to fill it up after just one short use, therefor only 4 stars. All in all I would recommend this rental car company.

Es wurde über billiger Mietwagen. de ein Auto am Flughafen Porto von Budget/ AVIS gemietet. Die Summe wurde vorab von der Kreditkarte abgebucht und bezahlt. Bei der Abholung des Autos legte man uns einen Vertrag vor auf dem die abgebuchte Summe gar nicht auftauchte, aber Summe die als Sicherheit dienen sollte, sowie ein Betrag der zurück erstattet wird wenn das Auto vollgetankt zurück gegeben wird. Den vorab erhaltenen Voucher wollte man gar nicht sehen. Bei einem Telefonat unter der deutschen Nummer mit AVIS sagte man mir erst das Geld nach dem Urlaub sind Mautgebühren, die Maut wurde aber immer direkt an der Autobahn von uns entrichtet. Dann nach raussuchen der Rechnung teilte mir die sehr schlecht verständliche Mitarbeiterin mit das ja extra Leistungen gebucht wurden. Also werden Kautionen einbehalten und dem Kunden im Vertrag als Extraleistungen/ Zusatzversicherungen untergemogelt. Obwohl man nachgefragt hat für was die Summen sein. NIE WIEDER BUCHE ICH BEI AVIS / BUDGET. Bitte was sind den Ihre Social-Media-Kanäle? Und wie soll man dort jemanden kontaktieren? Einfach mal ne E-Mailadresse hier hinterlassen.

Per chi è un cliente fisso AVIS, ed è contento di esserlo per lattendimento, qualità dei veicoli e up-grade, la città di Porto in Portogallo, può essere una delusione: il primo ritiro lattendente fui scortese nonostante ero nella fila quick pass... se riservi un tipo di veicolo speri di trovare quello che hai richiesto o migliore... qui la prima delusione.... la seconda ancora peggiore la stessa attendete ha ridotto ancora di più lo standard, mi sono ritrovato con una scatolina senza motore per fare un lungo viaggio, così la mia decisione di fare a mie spese un up grade pagando personalmente senza lasciare questa spesa allimpresa per cui lavoro, bene dopo aver fatto quasi tutto non è stato possibile perché non si poteva dividere la spesa con due carte di credito....immaginatevi di fare 1200 km con un motore 990 CC e non aver neanche CV per fare una salita, per questo la mia esperienza è recensione con questa agenzia in questa città è negativa, il loro parcheggio era pieno di veicoli, avrebbero potuto evitare questi frastorno.

Want a friend to pick them up, but cannot reach the center. Talked to one of your staff when in the airport, but could not get back out to get the glasses. Was told you found them and would really like to get them back, but have no way of contacting your center. The Avis costumer service is useless. They have sent you mails, but do no get reply. Please beware!!! Take pictures of all sides of the car inside and out before leaving the parking lot. They get you with made up damages after the car is returned. I ended up being charged more than $600 thankfully I had pictures of the rental before I took it out of the parking lot. Also try not to return the car overnight speak to a rep and get a receipt for no extra charges and show pictures if needed. The process of disputing charges is way too long and no customer service all through email.
Be careful of all the hidden charges. I paid what I thought was in full in November only to have additional charges for location and additional products not to mention a completely bogus charge for refueling when I filled car and full tank was acknowledged by person dealing with the return of the car.Have lodged a complaint but not holding my breath for a reply

Zeer slechte communicatie op de website en zeer ontoegankelijke en inzichtelijke werkwijze en facturering. Een Renault Clio voor één dag huren kost mij ruim 200 blijkt achteraf. Ten eerste, op de website staat dat je een Fiat Cinquecento kan huren voor een bedrag rond de 70,-. Ik krijg bij aankomst een Renault Clio, want de Fiat Cinquecento staat niet klaar, zeggen ze. Deze auto staat gewoon in dezelfde rij bij ophalen. We doen een check op schades. We rijden weg en binnen 10 minuten brand het lampje voor brandstof. De tank is bijna leeg! Slechte service van Avis. We gaan bijtanken voor exact 70. Volgende dag afleveren. Krijg die 70 niet terug. We hebben twee maal uitleg gevraagd bij de factuur. Nog steeds niet helder. Bij terugkomst check ik kijn creditkaart account. Wat blijkt, 134,65 (voor wat precies? Staat nergens uitgelegd, ik heb ook geen factuur ontvangen die dat zonneklaar aantoont, en 70 bijtanken. Kortom, Avis staat symbool voor opzettelijk onduidelijkheid creeren en afzetten van klanten. Slechtse commerciele service die in de afgelopen 20 jaar heb meegemaakt. Avis wordt nooit en te nimmer een aanbeveling naar niemand.

My disappointment relates to the vehicle and its handover. It was the wrong vehicle. Whilst they said that they reserve the right to supply a similar vehicle I do not see the similarity in a Toyota Avensis manual estate and a Seat Ateca 1.5 G Auto SUV. An SUV may be capable of carrying 5 passengers but not 5 suitcases. Fortunately I have driven automatics in the past so this was not a problem to me, but it could have been. Their representative waved a document in front of me and asked me to initial, which had blue squiggles on representing any damage on the vehicle. I feel that this should have been printed off as the representative did not wish to take me to the car and point out the marks that already existed. Fortunately the vehicle was returned in the same state as documented by yourselves. So I did not incur additional charges.

J ai loué 2 véhicules sur l agence d Avis Porto aéroport (l une pour notre famille et l autre pour les amis nous accompagnant). Les véhicules étaient propres, récents, rien à redire sur cela. Bien évidemment je ne pouvais pas être le conducteur principal des 2 véhicules, je pensais que le bon sens l emporterait mais non, j ai dû payer un conducteur additionnel sur le véhicule de nos amis J espère être recontacté par un service client pour corriger cela, mais jusque là les divers conseillers étaient impuissants face à cela

Took 2hours to finally collect the car and then it was 300pounds extra due to vat, added on to the original quite we had paid, plus the rental was charged at higher than the prepaid quote anyway, plus additional services. Over 700 pounds to rent a fiat 500 for 8days is very expensive. Whats the point of paying I advance.

Voiture avec pleins de rayures , pets et un pet au pare brise . L agent ne sait même pas pris la peine de se lever pour venir constater une vrai honte . Rien de notifier sur la feuille de contrat . J ai dû prendre photos de toute la voiture pour justifier au retour ( perte de temps à justifier il y avait sa puis sa etc !!! ) je me demande à quoi sert d être client prefered pour perdre son temps dans ce genre de détail !! Tout se passait bien avant de recevoir la facture après réservation à mon retour en France. J ai appelé leur service après-vente pour demander des explications et le service a juste été très désagréable et m a même raccroché au nez. On prélève de l argent 1 mois après que la réservation ait eu lieu sans qu on puisse demander la raison et on nous traite comme des chaussettes ! Une fois l argent encaissé, on se permet tout et n importe quoi et de raccrocher au nez des gens sans leur laisser le temps de s expliquer. Arrêter de jouer avec l argent des gens durement gagner !!! Méfiez-vous. Belles voitures, agence qui paraient professionnelle au premier abord mais vous serez surpris le jour où vous rencontrerez un soucis ou que vous souhaiteriez obtenir des informations sur la raison des prélèvements effectués sur votre compte. 0/100 (l étoile c était juste pour que mon avis soit publié mais sinon c est 0/100). Et je me retiens, en restant polie et en disant que c est une agence minable, déplorable, sans éthique et sans professionnalisme. Ps : Dieu se chargera bien du cas de cet agent qui a osé être odieux et impoli en me coupant la parole intempestivement et en me raccrochant au nez !

A minha experiência, não foi muito desagradável, mas acho que há alguns pormenores que deveriam ser melhorados; a explicação das condições, dadas telefonicamente, não coincidem com as que são dadas ao balcão e a inspecção da viatura ao ser levantada, deveria ser feita pelos funcionários da empresa e não pelos clientes, porque depois é a nossa palavra, contra a empresa. De resto, obrigada pelo atendimento e pela forma e simpatia como fui atendida.

Lors de la restitution pas de Check car agence fermée à 6h. 2 heures après avis de débit des dommages liés à la jante réceptionné par mail. Suite appel service client aucun autre choix que de payer puis ensuite déposer une réclamation. Ne jamais faire confiance service deplorable - de plus on nous raccroche au nez au service client - aucun respect!

Nous avons loué une voiture pour 6 jours, voiture propre 3000 km au compteur sur linsistance de la personne à laccueil nous prenons lassurance à 180 pour éviter de payer la franchise de 1700 en cas de soucis nous faisons le tour de la voiture pas de rayures voiture impeccable nous avons roulé pendant 6 jours principalement sur autoroute et sur des grands axes stationnement du véhicule sur un grand parking à lhôtel. Quand nous rendons le véhicule confiants le technicien fait le tour rapidement et se baisse directement à larrière du véhicule pour regarder sous le pare-choc et trouve miraculeusement une rayure sur le plastique impossible à voir , il faut se mettre à plat ventre. Nous protestons , réponse cétait à vous de voir et de signaler. Nous pensons quil sagit dune belle arnaque sur un vice caché, ils sont gagnants à tous les coups, soit ils encaissent lassurance de 180 soit ils encaissent la franchise à 1700 . Nehmt andere Anbieter!! Nach einer Panne des Fahrzeugs, wurde das Auto nach 3 Stunden abgeholt, ich nach weiteren 2,5 Stunden. Sie lassen Euch einfach bei 37 Grad in der Sonne auf der Strasse stehen!!! Dehydriert und natürlich aggressiv, zurück bei denen im Büro bekam ich nicht mal Wasser zu trinken!! Natürlich musst du dich nach dem 6 Stunden Überlebenskampf dann hinten anstellen! Menschenverachtende Vorgehensweise!!

Están intentando cobrarme por daños en el coche que no fueron originados por mí, al cabo de las 3 semanas me mandan email con reclamación cuando a la entrega me dieron el ok de todo, por suerte siempre hago fotos a la recogida y entrega del coche para que no intenten estafarme luego. Consejo: con esta oficina hacer siempre fotos del coche!!! luego quieren cobrarles por daños no existentes previamente, a saber si los mismos daños se los quieren cobrar a más de uno.

Je ne recommande absolument pas ! On avait une réservation déjà payée, on arrive à lagence comme prévu, et ils refusent de nous donner la voiture car la voiture réservée est un petit utilitaire (donc plutôt orienté pro ?) et ils nous redemandent donc de payer (2 fois plus cher) pour une toute nouvelle réservation car ils nont pas la voiture en question. Et refusent de nous donner une autre voiture peu importe le modèle. Cest donc une grosse arnaque, cette agence. Ils refusent les locations qui ne leur sont pas rentable. Et vu que le service client ferme à 18h en France, impossible de faire une réclamation auprès de quelquun. Édit : après avoir contacté par telephone le Service Client le lendemain, nous avons été remboursé. Mais le mal est fait. Et toute la faute revient à cette agence.

Péssima. De cara, na retirada, me entregaram um modelo inferior ao que tinha alugado, sob a alegação de pertencer ao mesmo grupo... No momento da entrega acompanhei a vistoria e não foi apontada nenhuma avaria. Para minha surpresa, posteriormente recebi um Email dizendo que após uma melhor verificação acharam um arranhão no para choque do carro. como isso não foi visto na vistoria? Para azar do vistoriador, eu tenho uma foto da dianteira do veiculo tirada no dia da devolução, pq fiz para marcar a vaga em que tinha estacionado momentos antes. Não bastasse, como eles obrigam vc a fazer um deposito caução quando retira o aluguel, enfiaram o suposto dano na caução e fui debita em 3 vezes o valor original da locação. Nunca mais alugo com a Avis!

Everything seemed to work perfect and fast until we noticed that we got a car one class smaller than paid. Simple comment, no other car is available. You do not believe this for an airport station, as we only booked an automatic compact car, which is nothing unusual.

The Avis location is close to the airport and has shuttle. The car was in a good condition and appropriate for our party. The billing aspect of it was a roller-coaster and the deposits have not been returned as advertised. I dont think I would recommend them or use them again. If you choose them anyway, better reject all their refundable charges, as it is unlikely you will see your money back.
I had a terrible experience at this Avis location. I rented a car, a Zoe Renault. The car was already damaged, and I had to get the car rental agent to document everything. I had the vehicle for 4 days, no accident, but there was a small scratch on the back panel. Now I did not take Avis own insurance because of the insurance was 75% cost of the rental and I took a third party insurance. So I was charged for a small scratch and peeled off paint 500 euros! Yes you read that right 500 euros. One of the charges for 70 euros just for the fact that they wont be able to rent the car to someone while it is being repaired . This is simply not true, they have rented a damaged car to me with existing damages. Tip: Document everything through video and photo and make sure the agent signs off on the damages, which could be pre-existing.

Our car was upgraded because we wanted an automatic. Got the Peugot 3008 hybrid. Amazing car. A bit pricey to be honest but the service was quick and hassle free with no hard sales that you get from other car hire places. Would definitely use again.

Il était désagréable à essayer de m ajouter des frais. Heureusement j avais les preuves. Parle mal a été même provocant envers moi. J ai dû faire un rappel à sa responsable pour régler la situation.

We should have read the reviews. We are also victims of the mysterious damages scam and will have to fight with our credit card company. The agent who rented to us was great, and we really enjoyed having an electric car. There were tire pressure warnings from the beginning, and the power steering would malfunction randomly. I adjusted the tire pressure - the light stayed on - no biggy (I thought) those detectors arent so reliable anyways. The steering issue was creepy - we did a web search - known problem, just drive on but keep two hands on the wheel !! Returned the car - they added some fees. After we returned how we were notified of the extra damages found - but without much detail. Over 1000 euros added to the bill. I thought these things only happened in the UK. When I noticed their corporate office is in the UK it all made sense. Try not to make the same mistake we did. -Mike Duggan Gatineau Canada

I do not recommend Avis Portugal! I rented a car during my vacation in Portugal. I left a deposit of 300, only to find out after a month that they charged another 92 from my account, without reason, without explanation. I have been trying for 2 weeks to contact them by email to ask for an explanation and they do not answer. The car was returned as received and with a full tank. This behavior is neither fair nor legal.

Unfreundlich, arrogant und sehr lange Wartezeit. Und dies obschon ich online eingecheckt habe und damit ein Quickaccess geboten werden sollte. Übergabe des Autos: Schlüssel in die Hand. Thats it. Keine Erklärung, keine Abnahme, kein Protokoll. Und das, obwohl das Auto an mehreren Stellen beschädigt und verkrazt ist. Darauf angesprochen wird man verdutzt angeschaut und kribbelt einige Kreuze aufs Übergabeprotokoll. Natürlich nicht im Doppel und ohne Unterschrift. Kurz nach der Losfahrt kommt auch schon die erste Meldung des Fahrzeuges: Schweibenwasser nachfüllen... nicht schlimm, aber ein Zeichen, mit welcher Qualität gewartet wird. Wir haben weltweit noch nie eine so schlechte Autovermietung erfahren und sind gespannt, wie sich die Rückgabe in Lissabon gestalten wird. Mit Sicherheit aber empfehlen wir Avis keinesfalls weiter.
Achtung Betrüger!!! Bei der Abholung wurde mir das Geld zur Unterschrift vorgelegt, unterschrieben und das gebuchte Auto abgeholt (Buchungsklasse Seat Ateca). Bei der Endabrechnung dann gesehen dass mir eine höhere Klasse berechnet wurde für insgesamt 400 , dann noch eine Mietwagenpauschale die vorher schon bezahlt habe, also Mehrkosten von 500 für eine Buchung in Höhe von 800 . Keiner meldet sich auf Rückfragen. Nie wieder Avis, bucht lieber woanders!

Charged 245.42 for rim scratch which no other companies such as Sixt or MasterKings (which I ve rented before just a few days earlier) did. In fact other companies told me that scratches are common and not to worry at all. In this case, worse of all I was not aware of the scratch in the first place. The staff also did not went through with me any damages in the first place. Most terrible experience that spoil one s holiday!! Update 11 Oct 2023 After sending feedback and review as instructed. Still no response whatsoever. Paying lip service to rectify. Meanwhile charged my credit card as per the actual sum. Update 24 Oct 2023 Budget has decided to reverse the unfair charges for the rim damage. I m appreciative that they have done so but it should be reminded that this should not have happened in the first place. Not only it distressed the customers but also caused unnecessary work for all parties concerned. With this resolution, I have upgraded my original 1 star to 2 star. Hope Budget will learn from this experience and revise their unreasonable policy.

Where do I start? This is the 4th rental as a President s Club member and despite the guaranteed upgrade at airports, it hasn t happened once!! Secondly, we were provided a vehicle and advised the fuel was full and set off, realising 15 minutes after departure this was not correct. We therefore had to return to the station and get a different car that was actually fully fuelled. At 11pm after a long delay this wasn t ideal. The vehicle we were given had problems with the display screen which meant everything was frozen and we were unable to move between the screens. We tried calling Avis but every number on the documentation rang once and then cut off. In the end, we googled it and worked out how to reset the screen. Finally, on returning the vehicle, we wanted the station to check the vehicle to confirm everything was correct as on our last rental from Avis, we were advised there was damage to the car which we had caused. This turned out to be incorrect but it took significant time from me to prove it. The agent at Porto refused to check the vehicle point blank which we felt was shocking. Based on my last experience at Gibraltar airport and this experience at Porto, I would definitely never recommend Avis. If this is how they treat President s Club members I dread to think how other one-off customers are treated. The customer experience is so crucial nowadays and customers have a choice. Avis don t seem able to recognise this. UPDATE: So based on the reply below I contact Avis via email (as I am not on Social Media) and after two days get a reply, you have to contact this email address rather than forwarding it on like any customer-centric business would.

A FUIR ! Nous avons réservé Une voiture avec le vol via Easyjet. Nous avons le Quick pass Pour au final, attendre comme tout le monde. Une fois à notre tour, l agent prénommé, Ricardo nous propose une plus grande voiture pour 120 de plus la semaine donc nous refusons nous voulions la voiture que nous avons loué. Il nous dit qu il faut payer 255 d assurance qui ne seront Pas prélevé est rendu au retour de la voiture Au final, nous avons été facturé, 369 au lieu de 255, Il nous a compté les frais du véhicule qu on a refusé. Impossible de contacter le service service client, il ne répondent pas par Mail

Whereby a premium brand plays in the same class as a mid-range brand. Sedan and an SUV are apparently in the same class. Thus absolutely not transparent. He was talking about the above-average range. Now it was a plug-in hybrid and the battery was empty. There were also more similar vehicles in the parking lot that were apparently reserved. No price concessions. Edit: Online you offer a Mercedes E-class or similar e.g Audi A6, BMW 5 or similar. All in a price range of >70k You gave a 50k Citroen ds7 who def. not play in the same class.
I rented an electric car for the first time and told to the Avis employee that could he tell me all the necessery steps to use the car. Info was that it s like a normal car. Well charging wasn t normal, I used hours in phone to get the information and finally one officer told that they forgot to give me the card for charging. I had to drive back to the airport and there they told me that I should ve known to download some application. Basically they sais that everything is my fault. Avis customer service is rubbish. They just turn you into a different employee until the phone call ends. In the airport I wanted to change to a petrol car cause I didn t want to lose anymore time for charging, downloading apps etc. They gave me Dacia which has to be the worst car they have. Overall very disappointed.
Correu tudo bem so foi pena que o carro que estava anunciado nem sequer existe na frota pois escolhi um volvo carro e deram ne um Renault arcana pois a diferença é muito grande para dizerem que é équivalente. Pois o diferença de preço entre ambos é enorme pois um custa entre 30 a 40 mil euros e outro custa entre 55 a 65 mil euros .pois se não tem o carro não facam publicidade do mesmo ..não e nada bom para vocês. Rented a car here, and they didnt have what we booked so they put us in something different that they did have. When they asked us to sign the paperwork to take the car, they circled the fee and said this would have been the cost, but that it was no charge to us because it was what they had. Turned out, after we returned the car, they told us we are being charged for a requested upgrade and now we have to pay the fee that they said we didnt have to pay! BE CAREFUL!! sneaky practice to screw clients! Fighting with head office now get this corrected. Update: After HEAD OFFICE reviewed the shady piece of business this place pulled off, they are keeping our money for the upgrade we never asked for!! AGAIN!! BE CAREFUL!! DO NOT TRUST WHAT THEY SAY, MAKE SURE YOU READ EVERYTHING THEY GIVE YOU BEFORE YOU SIGN ANYTHING!! Or better yet, do business somewhere else!

$1600 miscellaneous fee for damage that was signed off as vehicle condition before we got the car. Complete scam - look at other reviews. The charge was not defined to us before charging. The call center said it will take a month before the international team does an investigation. Brought it back full of gas, clean and with no damage whatsoever. This was not a mistake.

Deram-me um Toyota Corolla cheio de riscos e amolgadelas e imundo por dentro. Aluguei por 10 dias e acabei por fazer pouco mais de 200 km com ele pois tinha vergonha de andar com aquele carro. Se me perguntarem porque não reclamei e aceitei assim o carro é fácil, fui levantar o mesmo às 23h00 num dia de chuva e nevoeiro e só no dia seguinte de manhã percebi o que tinha em mãos. Sinto-me burlado pela AVIS.
Jai loué une voiture en septembre 2021, avec loption payante boitier autoroute pour les péages. Depuis plusieurs mois je narrête pas de recevoir des amendes pour des péages non payés sur ces dates là, jai contacté plusieurs fois AVIS, mais rien ne bouge. Les amendes, elles, continuent daugmenter. Je ne conseille pas ce loueur, impossible davoir un service client compétent qui règle le problème.
Foram-me cobrados serviços adicionais que não contratei. A empregada do balcão da Avis no aeroporto do Porto não me informou de forma alguma sobre os serviços adicionais cobrados, mas deu-me a entender claramente que tudo estava coberto pela reserva efectuada, pelo que não tinha de me preocupar com mais nada. Não me informou de quaisquer extras nem esclareceu absolutamente nada. Simplesmente instou-me a assinar o mais rapidamente possível. E eu assinei, deixando-me enganar. Mas como é que eu podia ter concordado com isso? Como é que eu poderia ter aceitado uma secção chamada combustível simplificado (porque eu entreguei o carro com o depósito cheio) e outra chamada produtos adicionais? Motivo: porque me enganou, pois a funcionária apressou-me a assinar sem me explicar o que estava a assinar. O seu interesse em fazer-me assinar rapidamente deveu-se ao facto de ter incluído no contrato rubricas tão obscuras. E eu não precisava de nada disto, porque cheguei com um vale de crédito total (full credit) pré-contratado. Quando contactei o serviço de apoio ao cliente, a única resposta que obtive foi: Lamento, mas ao assinar já concordou com tudo.
Alugar um carro em Portugal exige paciência, resiliência e uma dose de coragem. Pensei que na Avisa seria diferente. Não foi!

L accueil, la réception et le retour du véhicule se sont très bien passés, vraiment rien à redire sur cela. Cependant, nous avions fait le choix de nous faire plaisir avec une mercedes classe E nous avons reçu une volvo car selon eux, le véhicule est de même niveau j aimerais connaître les critères de sélection pour penser que c est de même catégorie. Si je demande une mercedes, je n ai aucun problème à recevoir une BMW ou une Audi mais pas cette voiture à problème. Bref ne payez pas le prix de la mercedes.
