A deeply disappointing experience with Al Maamari Tours We traveled with Al Maamari Tours in October, and while the planning phase with Mr. Yassir was smooth—he was very helpful and everything seemed perfect—our actual experience upon arrival was far from it. Despite the exceptionally high cost of the trip and the fact that we entrusted the agency with every detail, there was absolutely no flexibility. Even the tour of Muscat was timed to the minute, and we were constantly rushed from place to place because the guide/driver was waiting. They didn’t even take us to some of the most iconic parts of the city, which we naturally assumed would be included. The situation worsened when they abruptly changed the program during our stay, citing heavy rains a few days prior. Instead of visiting the wadi as planned, they substituted it with a cave packed with tourist buses. We were hoping for an exclusive, authentic experience but were given something completely generic and lacking any charm. To make matters worse, friends of ours who were traveling independently at the same time had no trouble visiting the same wadi we were supposed to see—and they had an amazing time! In Jabal Akhdar, we had booked the stunning Anantara Hotel. Instead of taking us there for lunch to enjoy its beautiful restaurants with breathtaking views, they took us to a dirty, unappealing place nearby. Only later did we realize how close we were to the hotel. We also booked cars with drivers and guides, but again, there was no flexibility at all. The entire trip felt rigid and uninspired, lacking the personalized touch we had expected. Instead of a memorable journey, we were left with a boring, uninspired itinerary. This agency seems to do the bare minimum while charging exorbitant prices. To top it all off, at the end of the trip, I accidentally left my vanity case in the bathroom and asked them to retrieve it. They assured me they would take care of it but simply left it there. No service, no consideration, no value for money. Al Maamari Tours failed on every front. Avoid this agency if you’re looking for a thoughtful and rewarding travel experience.
We booked a selfdrive 4WD at al Maamari tours. From the reception at the airport till the final end it was a big succes. The pickup was smooth and the driver gave us time to change money and buy a simcard. There was no time pressure. The car delivery at day 3 was on time and efficiënt. Nice car too! During our selfdrive Jasmin kept (pro)active in contact with us through whatsapp and gave us nice tips and advice. Whenever needed she was available on very short notice. Very satisfying. The accommodations booked by al Maamari were very authentic, special, clean, comfortabele and hospitable. I would recommend this touroperator without any doubt. Sure to rebook in future! Thanks to the entire Al Maamari crew!!
We have just returned from a week long self drive trip around Oman organised by Jasmin. From start to finish Jasmin worked hard to give us our perfect itinerary. She always responded in a friendly way, quickly and efficiently answering any queries and we felt that she really wanted us to make the most of our visit. The 4x4 car, the hotels and the route were all excellent. A big thank you to Nasr too for his help. We can thoroughly recommend Al Maamari tours for a holiday in Oman.
Excellent way to get a taste of Oman. Highly recommend the round trip tour of Oman with Al Maamari tours. From pre planning to organising departure times Jasmine did a great job with the program and nothing was forgotten which made for a seamless holiday. Our guide was Yasser, a fun and energetic tour guide who had a passion for showing us the sights of Oman - he added extra parts to the tour where he thought we might be interested. Hameed was an excellent driver who also provided the group great company. We spent time visiting the beach, villages, mountains and the desert. Accommodations provided were all nice and so were the restaurants they took us to. They really do make the effort to ensure you have a wonderful stay in Oman. I would not hesitate to book another vacation with Al Maamari. One big thankyou to the Al Maamari team for a wonderful holiday.
I booked a private tour for myself and my sister through the Travel Local website. I submitted a query with the dates we’d be travelling to Oman and I was put in contact with Jasmin. She was in touch on the same day and proposed ideas for an itinerary that could be put together. I was in contact back and forth until we’d put together a plan which we were happy with and went ahead and booked. Upon arrival to Oman we were greeted by one of the friendly team and taken to our hotel. Our main driver throughout our trip was Yasser who was extremely professional and friendly. He accommodated all of our needs and assisted us with any queries we had. We also had Nasser for our trip to Bimmah sinkhole and Wadi Shab. He was always very professional and friendly. We thoroughly enjoyed our trip to Oman. We were shown its true beauty and were so grateful to have booked through Al Maamari Tours. I would recommend them to anyone who is visiting and needs a local tour company/guide as they have years of experience and you will not regret booking with them. Thank you for making our trip a memorable one and for the hospitality shown by the team.
This was not only our first time to Oman, but our first time doing a private tour with a driver. After our experience, this will definitely not be our last time! Jasmine took the time to meet with us prior to our tour, and she answered all of our questions and saw to any concerns. As for our tour, Aftab was a walking swiss-army knife. He was our driver, guide, historian, interpreter, and off-road adventurer! He saw to our every need, in some cases even before we were aware of the need, and a great conversationist. He truly made the trip as wonderful as it was! Our only hope going forward is that, as we consider doing private tours in other countries, that those tour groups can keep up with the high bar that Al Maamari Tours set!
We really enjoyed our trip, seeing so many different beautiful places, climbing and swimming at Wadi Bani Khalid, Bimma sinkhole and Wadi Al Arbiyyin with wonderful photos of the landscape, spectacular sunset in the desert at Wahiba Sands and in the mountains at Jebel Akhdar. Visiting the Falaj at Birkat Mouz and of course beautiful city of Nizwa. Our tour guide took good care of us, and answered all of our questions, showed us hidden places for taking spectacular photos. A big thanks to Jasmin for organizing our trip and of course to our tour guide Hamed, for making this trip an unforgettable experience. Petra & Joachim

Unsere Reise wurde nach unseren Bedürfnissen zusammen gestellt. Sehr herzlicher Empfang vom Team vor Ort. Uns wurde ein 4x4 Offroad Fahrzeug zur Verfügung gestellt. Absolut ideal für den Besuch der Wadis sowie eine Fahrt in die Berge auf 2000 m und der Besuch der Wüste. So haben wir sehr viel von diesem schönen sehr sicheren Land und einen Einblick in das Leben der Omanis erhalten. Al Mamaari Tours können wir allen weiter empfehlen.
In vacanza a marzo 2024 con un amica abbiamo soggiornato al Ramada Encore Hotel e all interno c è un ufficio dell AL MAAMARI TOURS & RENTAL CARS. Ci siamo rivolte a loro per il noleggio di un auto. Abbiamo conosciuto Nasir che ci ha seguito con professionalità nella scelta dell auto. Consegnandoci un auto nuova e perfetta con cambio automatico (aveva solo 8.000 km). La cortesia del popolo Omanita lascia sbalorditi e Nasir ne incarna l essenza. Ci ha dato il suo contatto tel in caso di qualsiasi necessità. Un agenzia che mi sento di consigliare ad occhi chiusi. Inoltre un collega di Nasir parla un italiano perfetto avendo studiato a Milano anni fa. Consiglio vivamente questa agenzia. Di 3 gg con Km illimitati abbiamo speso 75 rial.
Nous avons apprécié la disponibilité sans limites de ce tour opérateur et le parcours qui a été organisé ensemble cest révélé extrêmement plaisant. Nous avons voyagé en autotour, sans guide, ce qui était le bon choix .Les hôtels ont été bien choisis, les chambres étaient les meilleures. Le tout pour un coût inférieur à ce que proposaient les tours opérateurs situés en France.

Sehr zu empfehlen. Ihr habt unseren Urlaub zu dem gemacht, was er war und er war einfach ein Traum in Real. Immer wieder gerne. Wir wurden bereits bei unserer Ankunft im Oman herzlichst von einem äußerst zuvorkommenden Fahrer empfangen. Während der Fahrt rief uns eine deutsprachige persönliche Ansprechpartnerin an um uns willkommenzuheißen und es wurde angeboten sich vor Ort zu treffen um die weiteren Pläne und Möglichkeiten zu besprechen - alles unkompliziert in unserem Hotel. Alle Touren und Guides liefen nach Plan und haben gehalten, was versprochen war und sogar mehr als das. Es war Traum. Danke Leutenund people, hier seid Ihr richtig!

I had a wonderful time in Oman and enjoyed my trip very much. A big thanks to Al Maamari Tous for organazing. I went solo, but I booked a guide to travel with me. I dont regret it at all. The service was exceptional. Aside from driveing me from A to B, he made tons suggestions, checked to always have water and answerd many of my questions. Since summer isnt the main season, there are less tourists and the prices are cheaper. I was warned its hotter. But dont worry too much. It was usually around 39°C (less in the mountains). It really only gets unbearable from 12 to 3pm, when the sun is the highest. My four highlight were: 1. hikeing alongside a canion near Jebel Shams 2. Wahiba Sands desert 3. hikeing and swimming in Wadi Bani Khalid and Wadi Shab 4. Misfah Village
Wir haben kurzfristig auf den nächsten Tag eine Stadtrundfahrt inklusive der wichtigsten Sehenswürdigkeiten (Sultan Al-Qabus Moschee, Opernhaus), Besuch des Souks etc. gebucht mit deutschsprechendem Tourguide - und es war super interessant! Wir haben sehr viel erfahren über Land und Leute und wurden super betreut. Absolut empfehlenswert!

Un guide sympa, un joli tour, petit conseil si vous partez de muscat départ à 10h cest bien pour avoir le temps daller jusque dedans le désert afin de voir le couché de soleil
Nous avons réservé deux excursions à la dernière minute avec lagence Al Maamari. La première excursion de 3 heures pour une visite de la ville de Muscate avec un guide de la région à lécoute et très cordial et la deuxième pour une excursion de deux jours depuis muscate vers le désert Wahiba Sand, une nuit dans le désert et visite de Wadi Bani Khalid avec un autre guide, Adil, très professionnel et qui connait très bien la région. Un guide vraiment courtois et aimable! Nous ne pouvons que recommander cette agence pour vos prochaines excursions.

Ich kann Al Maamari Tours nur weiterempfehlen. Jasmin hat uns super beraten, wir konnten den Reisevorschlag jederzeit nach unseren Wünschen anpassen. Es wurde immer sehr schnell geantwort. Auch auf der Reise selber wurden wir pünklich abgeholt. Unsere Guide konnte uns vieles übers Land und die Kultur erzählen wir habben viele Sachen gsehen die wir ohne Guide nicht gesehen hätten.Es ist auf jedenfall eine Reise wert.

Bei unserer privaten Tour hat alles hervorragend geklappt. Während der Tour durch Maskat hatten wir Aftab als unseren Führer und Fahrer. We had a wonderful experience with Al Maamari. Communication was perfect in the weeks before travelling, Jasmin is incredibly responsive and a pleasure to be in touch with. The quality of their service is truly impeccable. Our guide Al Roby went constantly above and beyond to make our stay enjoyable and special, with his tips, recommendations and guidance to do things a bit off the beaten track. Would definitely recommend.

Excellent tour, with a fantastic driver/guide. He made the tour very enjoyable by telling us about the city, its history, its people and the cultural background. The visit to the Grand Mosque and to the palace were particularly interesting. A view from the top of one of the mountains was thrilling. The sea shore, the museum and the souks were nice. Overall, it gave us a great overview of the city and of Omani culture. It was very enjoyable and is highly recommended for anyone visiting Muscat. Oman is beautiful country.and grate people
