nc Rent a Car em Nazaré

We rented a car from nc Nazare Rent a Car and had a very positive experience. Their service was professional and courteous and delivered what they promised. We returned the car on a Sunday evening and, even though they were closed, they came in to receive the car. One piece of information that might be useful for anyone who is not familiar with Nazare. Their office is in Sitio de Nazare, which is up by the Santuario de Nossa Senhora de Nazare. Although this is not by the beach, it is easily accessible by the Nazare Funicular. We actually prefer this area because it is less noisy than the beach area. Overall, we had a great experience with nc Rent a Car.

If I could give this place less than 1 star I would. Do not ever waste your time or money renting from this place. I am being forced to pay full price for a rental that I cancelled within one day of the booking reservation. Their policy states that you must give them 30 days to cancel a reservation in order to not be charged 100% of the total rental amount, which is impossible in my scenario. I can understand paying a service or a delivery fee for the inconvenience but 100% of the booking amount when I never took possession of the vehicle?? This is such unprofessional and shady business practices. I feel that this company just completely stole money from me. Drive outside Nazare and rent from a legitimate car rental company. This company is a complete scam.

I must confess that I took this all deal with a pinch of salt from the beginning. I sent an email in, that took months to be replied and in the website, you apparently choose a car that in the end isn't the one you thought ... and then a quite hugely discussion over the phone about this and then another one at the counter ... where the client is always wrong ... maybe a bit of training to your people would be a good idea. Ok, it was a bad day for everyone, step back and breed. After this shaky start I have to say that the service was quite ok, though I asked 2 baby chairs (or 2 children's chairs) and then I got a jumped one which was then substituted last minute by whatever they had; they did their best, no issues there. The car is handed over in a petrol station close to the airport, I was a bit unsure how this was going to proceed but in the end all went fine. All in all, the guys did whatever they could to make my life easier, and that's fine by me.

I can’t recommend Nazare Cars enough! They dropped the car off for us in Lisbon and picked it up at a different hotel a week later. All the staff were really helpful before hand and whilst we had the car. They were quick to respond and were able to make changes easily. The staff that dropped the car off and picked it up were really kind. Great service and a great price! Go with Nazare cars if you want a personal and helpful service!

The only service in the city. 80 eur for the car + 18 eur for weekend fee + 27 eur for kilometers above 120 km limit + 20 eur fee coz they couldn't book the money from Deutsche Bank card(this money v been taken from my card without even notification, so I had to block my card after). It would have been cheaper to rent a taxi for the whole day.

The only car hire company in town. Wanted to charge us over €100 for a single days hire, starting at 14:30 in the afternoon. We decided to sightsee by taxi instead (sadly no Uber round here). I see Nazcarecar have responded below. 1. I am not American. 2. Service was provided to us in the form of a quote. 3. We asked for the car to be delivered to us as Nazarecar office one hour walk or a taxi ride from our base.3. All communication by email and fairly slow.4. Full quote including all extras only provided day before we wanted the car. 5. We have been living in Portugal for more than a year and have hired cars at much more reasonable rates during that time. So my rating is, I believe, fair.

Rented a car from Nazare in October 2019 and have only great things to say about them. Dealt personally with Paolo and gave me total confidence that I was dealing with a company that would provide me with the service I was looking for. I wanted to avoid the usual scammers at the airport, and can only wholly recommend Nazare Rent-a-car. They operate a totally honest and 100% reliable service. Thank you Paolo and your team! What a terrible experience. Told we could get a car the next day, they took our credit card info and we duly marched off to their “office” in the hinterlands of Nazare. After numerous phone calls over forty minutes someone arrived to say they had no cars but we were promised one first thing the next day. Morning arrived and the car is driven to us but we are told that it is more expensive because it’s a Saturday. (We, of course, had booked it for Friday.) When we questioned this charge in a normal fashion we were yelled at for arrogance and the driver sped away in the car. So, thoroughly unprofessional and pretty darn nuts to boot. A frustrating and maddening experience and a waste of several days as it is impossible to book a car on a Sunday.
