Amazing Island Car Rental was excellent - I would use them again. Price was good, service was excellent. Car was fine. I would recommend taking out all the insurance if renting in the Azores for the first time. We had to be very careful, the streets are narrow and the curbs are at just the right height to damage rims and tires. We managed to avoid any problems, but i can see how people have issues. Good company, rent from them. We will use them again.

I rented a car for three days. I made the reservation on the same day and was very grateful that they allowed me to pick it up earlier than the reserved time. I had initially booked a GROUP B DACIA SANDERO, but since they were all rented out, I was given a Peugeot Partner instead. This car was brand new, having only 2,000 kilometers on it. And It was very eco, with fuel efficiency of about 5.8l/100km (17km/l). If I had to point out some issues, the car was quite large, and the seats weren t very comfortable, which made driving rather tiring. Additionally, the entire car was covered in an advertisement with a grass pattern, and when I encountered a herd of cows during my drive, they mistook it for food and blocked the way for a while. Regarding fuel, the car showed a range of 740 km when I rented it, but when I returned it with a full tank, the range displayed was 900 km. This suggests that the tank wasnt completely full when I picked it up. There was also no windshield washer fluid, so it was difficult to clean the glass. The GPS connection was poor, Android Auto never worked, and Apple CarPlay disconnected every time the engine was turned off. Reconnecting was difficult, making it quite a hassle. However, I believe these issues were likely inherent to the car itself and not the fault of the rental company.

Hemos tenido súper buena experiencia con Amazing Island. Desde la reserva hasta la entrega. Cogimos el coche con seguro a todo riesgo y a mayores el seguro de las ruedas para prevenir y estábamos totalmente cubiertos. Yo me equivoqué al elegir el coche y alquilé un automático y les escribí para cambiarlo y lo hicieron sin ningún problema. Nos lo cambiaron por un Dacia Sandero que estaba en nuevo. Cuando llegas al aeropuerto te van a recoger y te llevan a los almacenes donde te entregan el coche. Habíamos puesto una hora de recogida y llegamos antes de lo previsto y les escribimos para ver si nos podían recoger antes y en 3 minutos estaban con nosotros. La entrega también ha sido perfecta. Cuando volvamos a la isla repetiremos.

AMAZING SCAMMERS! Weve rented car in November and Ive been waiting for the papers they promised to send me. However, since they did not bother, at least I will write the review. Firstly, when we arrived, there was noone at the parking lot to meet us at the agreed time. We called the provided number and weve been told to wait and find some shelter (Its been raining and we were at the open parking lot, the only roof was over the other car company pick up place where we were certainly not welcomed, as people were going back and forth with the cars). Secondly, we were offered to pay extra 84 euros for wheels insurance (we had Zero risk, but obviously they need to rename this option as it is not corresponding with reality). Weve been told that tire change is 120 EUR and the whole wheel with tire is 240 EUR. We considered that potential damage and risks are ok combined with the fact that the rest of the car (possible scratches etc.) is covered by insurance already. However, when we came to drop the car, the math was not mathing. Weve got a little incident and back door paint was scratched (which does not matter, it is covered by Zero risk insurance in our case). There was a tiny scratch on the wheel tho (3rd one, 2 scratches were there from the beginning and I even had photos of it). And for this one scratch they charged us 100 EUR which is making no sense. As per their first said prices the whole wheel with tire change is 240 EUR, my scratch is 3rd, therefore I logically should have paid only 1/3 of the price of changing the wheel (without tire, which is less than 240 EUR). Theyve promised me to send invoice to my email (it never happened). As well as they promised to send me check from service, showing that only this part of the wheel (the rim without tire) repair was costing to 300 EUR minimum to justify the amount I paid and provide refund in case they wont be able to. No receipts, no refunds. Obviously, they never did it, as it is a regular tourist scam. Additionally, the worker was late again when we came to drop the car, therefore we were already worrying about catching our flight. There was a young guy with a hat (already tells a lot about his manners as he was wearing it inside), who started to tell us that they will call the police if we dont pay. We would gladly do it, but understood that we would be even more worrying about cathcing the flight. So its a perfect scam scheme as you see. Seeing business owners like this giving a lot to compehention about the current economical state of the country:(

We rented a car from Amazing Island in 2023, so this review is a bit late, but nonetheless wanted to post it. Our experience with them was great, our car was ready for us when we arrived, the process was timely, they were very patient and kind with our kids while we were doing the paperwork and settling into the car. The return process was easy and timely as well. Thanks for helping making our Sao Miguel visit wonderful.

Smaller rental car provider with excellent service and no hidden fees. They delivered the car to the hotel and we returned it near the airport, upon which they transferred us to the airport next door. Highly recommended over the mainstream car providers.

Buena experiencia. Habíamos contratado el seguro total aunque este no incluye protección de llantas. Al llegar a la oficina nos ofrecieron coger este extra. Dada la orografía de la isla decidimos cogerlo, pero esto siempre queda a tu elección. Te recoge una furgoneta en el aeropuerto y te lleva a donde tienen los coches, 1km de recorrido aprox. Lo mismo para la devolución, la cual fue muy rápida ya que al tener el seguro total solo te comprueban el depósito de gasolina. Nos decantamos por esta compañía porque no tienes que dejar fianza como en otras que habíamoa visto en la isla

A very good experience for our week in Sao Miguel. The Peugeot 208 Hybrid we had was perfect for the roads there. The Zero Risk insurance is nice to take as the streets in cities and the roads in the countryside are small and sometimes bumpy. Would definitively use there services again, thank you !

We used Amazing Island Rent a Car during a recent 5 day break end October in Sao Miguel island. I always read reviews for several companies/suppliers before choosing where to go/which car rental company to use. I was immediately attracted to Amazing Island, but diligently searched through other sites before going with my initial reaction to use Amazing Island for our car hire. And I am very happy with my choice. As many others have already commented, the service and client support is excellent. The pick-up at the airport was seamless. The car was ready and waiting at their garage hangar 3 drive from the airport. I only had to sign the contract. And when we returned the car, we were dropped off in the city centre, as we had requested. Rafael responded quickly to emails/calls and is a charming, polite person. As was his colleague. The car itself (a Fiat 500) was spotlessly clean and the perfect size for the small island roads. I took out the full insurance and also the extra insurance for wheels and tyres, which is extra - and once we started driving around, we soon understood why. The streets in Ponta Delgada are very narrow, with cars parked on one side, furthermore, the kerbs are high, thus making it very easy to scrape the tyres and hubs as you squeeze through the narrow streets. Three conclusions/recommendations : - use Amazing Island for car hire in Sao Miguel, you will not be disappointed; - no need to hire a car any larger than a Citroen C3, or Fiat 500; and - take out the full insurance, including wheels and tyres, for peace of mind and a relaxing holiday.

Fantastic experience with great communication! We landed a bit early and I reached out via WhatsApp when we were waiting for a bit & the shuttle was there in less than 5 minutes. Great quick trip and easy check in process. Fantastic, safe, clean car, and most impressive ready upon arrival and a super easy return process. This is the right choice for a rental. I even left my glasses in the car and they brought it to me right away before the shuttle took off. Will rent again and 10 out of 10 highly recommend!

Amazing Island is a great place to rent a car. They provided us with a free transfer from the airport to their location. When we arrived, all the formalities were handled quickly, and the car was already waiting for us, clean and with a full tank of fuel. We had full insurance, so we didnt have to leave any deposit. The car was almost new. I highly recommend this place.

Un trato muy cercano y familiar, el coche de alquiler excelente, el mejor servicio de alquiler de coches en la isla de san Miguel, azores. Ya incluye el seguro a todo riesgo en el precio al contratar online excepto el de los neumáticos y llantas, que te lo ofrecen al retirar el vehículo, en caso de no contratarlo; realizar un vídeo a las llantas y neumáticos para no tener problemas al devolver el vehículo.

Personal muy amable y precios buenos teniendo en cuenta que fui en octubre. El coche fue un Skoda Fabia automático que para la isla es ideal, ya que a veces las calles son algo estrechas. Hay que tener cuidado con los bordillos y las aceras, ya que el seguro de llantas y neumáticos se paga por separado. Volvería a repetir.

Wir hatten die Zero-Risk + Reifenversicherung und können die Option weiterempfehlen für Leute, die ein stressfreies und einfaches Erlebnis haben möchten. Das Shuttle war pünktlich und die Abwicklung ging super schnell. Auch die Rückgabe war unkompliziert. Das Auto hat uns überall hingebracht, wo wir hinwollten. Fazit: Der Autoverleih wird seinen guten Bewertungen gerecht und wir sind vollstens zufrieden.

Ich bin so glücklich, dass wir uns hier ein Auto gemietet haben. Die Mitarbeiter vor Ort sind unglaublich freundlich und hilfsbereit und alles verlief super unkompliziert! Die Preisregelung ist sehr fair im Gegensatz zu den Mietwägen am Flughafen. Ich kann es nur weiter empfehlen!

Ottima agenzia di noleggio, macchine pulitissime e nuove, noi abbiamo preso una Sandero con cambio automatico, la consiglio. Personale cordiale, vengono a prenderti e ti riaccompagnano allaeroporto poiché la sede è a tre minuti di macchina. Mi sono scordato delle cose in auto e me le hanno addirittura spedite al mio domicilio. Cos altro di più? 10!
