Low prices, AWFUL costumer service, if you rely on English. Whenever I reached someone, they put me on hold after 2 seconds or just hung up.
Booked here because it was the best price of the 7 companies at the airport, that's where the good news ends. As mentioned in many of these reviews, the lines for both pick up and return were multiple HOURS long. That is not an exaggeration, we were 4th in line with a reservation and it took nearly 2 hours to get to the counter as the line grew behind us. Once I got to the counter the process took an additional 25 minutes. Despite having a reservation I had to provide all of my information (name phone, email address, etc) again which made it take longer. Shouldn't that already be in the system with a reservation? At the end of the long check in process I was told the car was getting washed and I should "go get a coffee" and come back...after waiting 2 hours at that point.... The staff, while polite, seemed indifferent to the huge line literally filling the concourse. One casually mentioned this is how it is on the weekends. Important to note that this company is the only company at PDL with multiple counter positions and was still incredibly backed up. None of the other companies had lines more than 5 customers at any one time. Below are pictures of the separate lines for pick ups and returns.
Very easy, straight forward handling of everything. Cars are very clean and at a fair rate. Returning the car could be handled faster if there would be more than one person responsible for the returns when there are several flights leaving at the same time.
Don‘t use this car rental! I would not recommend to anyone because of the following reasons: 1. When we picked up the car, it took a long time till we got the keys. 2. We booked a small car with manual and got a big one with automatic. That’s not what we booked! 3. On the 2nd day they called us and told us that the car needs to be replaced because of “safety reasons”. Obviously they just wanted their more expensive bigger car back. 4. When the guy came to change out the cars, it took more than 30min of our time because he didn’t find the address of our apartment. 5. When we returned the car, there were lots of people waiting but only 1 person working. We almost missed our flight !!! No recommendation !
Friendly, easy, quick, I brought my car back dirty and they charged me 10€ for it. Questionable of it is the best way, but I was happy because they were cheap and I had absolutely no problem. I would come again. I got the car early in the morning and have it back, maybe that helped for not having to wait or they did improve the people working there. It was definetly not written by hand.
I had two cars on two islands with this rental campany via third party online service. Both times happened that I received a car with fuel tank not being full (but the contract said full for full). At Ponta Delgada, I had especially horrible customer experience with very poor customer support. It takes more than 30 minutes to get a car even when you are the first in the line (45 minutes in my case). They can't transfer information from online vouchers to their contracts. They don't use IT at all. The assistants writes everything by hand and that is why it takes so much time. Another nonsense is the deposit. They put a pressure on you instead of their third party partners. Even when you have a car with full coverage insurance, they still FORCE you to block deposit because the car is insured by third party partner but you have to deal with that. Literally they don't care (Silvia from Ilha Verde Ponta Delgada: "We don't care, that's your problem.") exchange difference between blocking date and returning date when you don't have an account listed in euros, e.g. in my case I've lost €53. I hardly doubt that Ilha Verde changes its approach but I STRONGLY RECOMMEND TO AVOID this company. As Google local guide lv7, I will talk to Google representative at the next meeting to penalise them somehow in the search and service index.
The car was fine. Lines for picking up and dropping off the car are long and ridiculous. They are very slow. 1+ hours to pick up the car and 1.5 to drop off. Price is good though and the car was fine. They also charge a 1300 Euro deposit and get upset when you ask for proof that it will be refunded.
I feel bad giving a 1 star review because the rental company we dealt with on Faial were perfect, I will give them 5 stars. All of our issues are with the the station at Sao Miguel airport. They tried to charge us for our rental on arrival despite pre-paying it all. The desk operator was horrendous, going in a huff when we suggested we had already paid. They then tried to sell us additional insurance for 95 euros which we rejected. No issues with our car on return despite a 30 minute queue in the airport, we returned home to find a bill for 95 euros, despite not taking out the additional insurance. Multiple attempts at contacting the company failed, we will be going through our bank to get a refund, so very disappointing!
Support gives false information, after a conversation with the staff my holiday joy was destroyed! extremely unfriendly!
Very friendly reception and quick service at the counter when taking over. Got a new Ford Puma. So everything is fine. No problems with delivery either. Gladly again at any time!!
Guter und schneller Service am Ticket Schalter. Freundliches Personal. Auto sauber und, wenn man die Straßen und Parkplätze auf der Insel kennt, in angemessenem Zustand. Rücknahme des Autos ohne Probleme.
Alquilamos un coche en esta compañia y a los 10 minutos de haber salido del aeropuerto se encendió la luz de fallo del motor, aunque nos canviaron el coche sin problema. Una semana después de haber devuelto el coche sin ningún desperfecto, aún no han devuelto la fianza de 1200 euros. Empresa poco seria y responsable en todos los sentidos. Apuntar también que el personal de la empresa del aeropuerto fue un tanto grosero.

Mietete einen Wagen über einen Drittanbieter bei Ilha Verde. Ilha Verde erweckte uns keinen zuverlässigen und vertrauenswürdigen Eindruck, infolge von schlechten Rezessionen, die bestimmt Richtigkeit haben. Kaution im Vergleich zu anderen Anbieter mit derselben Wagenkategorie ist doppelt so hoch (1 300 Euro). Personal an Frontdesk und Autoübergabe schroff und unfreundlich. Administration sehr langsam. Bei der Rückgabe mussten wir fotografisch den Nachweis für einen bei der Übernahme auf dem Übergabepapier festgehaltenen Schaden erbringen. Wir raten von Ilha Verde ab.

Primero, al llegar, nos dicen que tenemos que pagar una fianza de 1.300 . (Obviamente nadie nos había avisado de eso). Solo lo podía pagar la persona que tenía el alquiler a su nombre ( en este caso mi pareja). Él, tiene limite en la tarjeta de 1.000 /diarios y, nos era imposible pagar esta cantidad. Fuimos al cajero de al lado a sacar dinero (para sacar yo también y así pagar los 1.300 )y, como maximo se podían sacar 200 No sabíamos que hacer, y, la única solución que nos ofrecía Ilha Verde era pagar un seguro a todo riesgo de casi 200 .. Como no nos quedaba otra, lo tuvimos que pagar. Después, nos dieron un coche que no se correspondía al que habíamos acordado. Habíamos pagado un poco más por tener un coche bueno para nada Por último, cuando vamos a devolver el coche nos dicen que el depósito no está lleno. (Nos lo dieron con 647 km y lo hemos devuelto con 643 km) y, por ello nos hacen pagar una penalización de 30 ya dentro del aeropuerto y cuando habíamos dejado el coche..si nos lo hubieran dicho nada más dejar con el coche, hubiéramos salido a la gasolina de al lado a echar los 3 que nos faltaban. Todo un despropósito. Todo el mundo que estaba con nosotros estaba descontento

Esta empresa es una estafa . Mucho ojo con alquilar con ellos . Te van a empaquetar problemas del coche que tu no le hiciste .
Lange Wartezeit, danach wird an der Kreditkarte 1300 sicher gestellt wenn mann das Auto mit macken oder beschädigt abgibt. Das übliche immer wieder ein Ford Fiesta gebucht, ein Renault Clio gekriegt, wo ich allerdings immer ein,, upgrade gekriegt habe, hier wörde ich sagen ein schlechtes Auto bekommen. Die berechnen auch 10 für innen Reinigung. Also nach dem Urlaub noch schön putzen oder bezahlen, ob wohl sie die Autos so oder so vor Vermietung reinigen. Lieber draufzahlen und wo anders mieten!

Aunque os salga, a priori, más caro, optar por otra agencia porque esta es lo peor de lo peor.
Los coches estan viejos, ruedas gastadas, pastillas de freno totalmente desgastadas. Por último, mi novia y yo habíamos comprado un soporte para el teléfono movil para usar los dias que estuvimos en las Azores con el coche de alquiler, sin embargo tras hacer el check out, como 1h después aprox nos dimos cuenta de que nos lo habiamos olvidado colocado en la rejilla del aire acondicionado del coche, por lo que hablamos de nuevo con los operarios, y nos dicen que en el coche no hay nada y que ya habia sido alquilado, siendo que es imposible ya que el soporte se quedo enganchado en la ranura del aire acondicionado. Espero que al menos me lleguen los 1200 de fianza de vuelta.
I chose a car on the website based on the price and ended up getting another similar one that was on the website at a lower price. And I also had to pay a cleaning fee which I was only informed about at the counter after payment. I do not recommend it. The only star is due to the person behind the counter who was always cordial and friendly.

Auto war toll, wir bekamen einen Renault Clio mit 90PS. Manchmal minimal untermotorisiert, von daher vielleicht einen kleinen Wagen wählen. Auf Flores hatten wir einen Micra mit 90PS, dort waren die Steigungen steiler; das war eindeutig besser. Im Vertrag war eine Klausel, dass man für eine evtl. Innenreinigung 8 zahlen sollte. Wir wurden aber hierauf aufmerksam gemacht. Personal am Schalter beim Abholen nicht übermäßig freundlich. Personal bei Übergabe und Rückgabe sehr freundlich und schnell.
Great car cheap rental. They will try to rip you off. They tell you to bring the inside of the car back clean and charge you for returning the car dirty regardless of the state (ours was clean). The cues are so long there is no point in arguing. Anyways, I guess it s what you get for a cheap rental.
Ilha Verde rentalcar Una pena que despues de haber pasado una semana maravillosa en Sao Miguel este sea nuestro ultimo y agrio sabor de boca. En general el coche no estuvo mal, precio muy bueno y entrega mejor.. pero cuando fuimos a devolver el vehiculo, primero, el marcador de gasolina estaba estropeado o trucado porque a pesar de ponerle gasolina a tope en la gasolinera incluso forzando al maximo, la aguja no llegaba a marcar el tanque como lleno, curiosamente marcaba lo mismo que cuando nos lo entregaron, lastima no le sacamos una foto. Otro tema fue la limpieza. A la entrega, te avisan que se debe devolver limpio por lo que nos aseguramos que el nuestro lo estuviera. Al hacer el chequeo, la persona que lo recepciono dijo todo ok excepto por el problema de la gasolina, que teniamos que mostrar los tickets de la gasolinera en el mostrador de la terminal. No dijo en ningun momento que estuviera sucio. Luego, en el mostrador de la terminal comentamos lo de la gasolina , con lo comprobantes de la gasolinera nos salvamos de pagar cargo pero nos dicen que el coche esta sucio.... discutimos y pataleamos... porque no estaba sucio y porque no nos dijeron al recepcionarlo que lo estuviera...pero aun asi nos cobraron 8 eur, y no es por los 8eur, es por sentirnos engañados. Pedimos ir de nuevo al coche y que nos dijeran donde estaba sucio y la respuesta fue El coche ya no esta ahi. Y a todas las personas que llegaron antes y despues de nosotros les paso lo mismo, unas patalearon otras no. A todas les cobraron...

Wszystko zacz o si bez wi kszych przygód i by em zadowolony. Na koniec wynajmu poczu em si oszukany. Zda em auto i nie by o adnych problemów. Po czasie dzwoni do mnie Pani z biura i mówi, e auto stoi na jakim parkingu podziemnym i jest z niego spuszczane ca e paliwo bo rzekomo zala em do niego olej nap dowy i tak przejecha em na nim pó wyspy.. Bez protoko ów i adnych informacji jak równie mojej obecno ci przy wyja nianiu tej sytuacji, zosta o mi policzone 1000z za usuwanie tego problemu przez t firm . Niestety nie polecam. Proponuje Pa stwu popracowa nad form wyja niania takich sytuacji bo by a bardzo kontrowersyjna. Nie wiem czy Waszym celem jest nabijanie klientów w butelk ale to nie nie s ju czasy na takie zachowania.

O carro que nos foi dado não prestava. É ainda nos fizeram pagar mais .
Nefasta experiencia. Trato pésimo desde el minuto 0. Cuidado, porque buscan estafarte desde lejos. Nos cambiaron una rueda sospechosamente pinchada por otra en mal estado y con un corte en la zona lateral. Reclamación oficial tramitada. No lo recomendaría por nada del mundo. Ni una estrella les pondría.
Mucha espera para la recogida del vehículo (UNA HORA),el trato del personal muy seco, el tanque supuestamente lleno que bajó una ralla haciendo menos de 10km...no lo recomiendo para nada.

Com reserva feita e paga online, reforçada com um seguro para evitar azares, dirigi-me ao balcão do aeroporto, mas dada a fila extensa fui reconduzido para uma carrinha e conduzido para os escritórios desta empresa. O meu conselho é.. não aceitem esta sugestão porque é uma forma desta empresa reter o cliente, longe do aeroporto e caso alguma coisa corra mal, está retido nas instalações deles e longe da concorrência. Depois de ter dito que já tinha tudo pago, exigiram um cartão de crédito para reter 1000 , ao qual me recusei a dar. Por fim, e no meio de alguma exaltação e ameaçando escrever no livro de reclamações, conseguiram-me arranjar uma solução pagando +40 de seguro ao qual já tinha contratado + 60 de franquia (devolvida no fim do aluguer). A informação não é explícita nos sites tipo edreams, e refugiam-se em termos e condições aos quais confrontados não souberam clarificar o que exigiam ao balcão. Primeira e ultima experiência com esta empresa.

Günstiger und netter Auto Vermieter. Etwas längere Wartezeit beim der Abholung dafür schnelle und problemlose Rückgabe des Fahrzeuges. Das Fahrzeug muss bei Rückgabe nicht gereinigt sein. Allenfalls enorme Verschmutzungen würde ich vor Rückgabe etwas beseitigen. Indes sollte vor Übernahme zur Sicherheit der Wagen einmal von hinten bis vorne fotografieren werden, um eventuell bestehende Beschädigungen nachweisen zu können.

Neste momento dou 2 estrelas pois as alterações contratuais não foram indicadas ao cliente. Aluguei o veículo há alguns meses. Nunca recebi um mail ou contacto com alterações. Apenas no balcão soube que já não teriam o carro que aluguei e fiquei, pelo mesmo preço (!) com um veículo mais pequeno e menos potente. A franquia subiu quase 20% sem aviso prévio. Como toda a gente sabe, até a minha gata sabe, qualquer alteração contratual tem de ser comunicada ao cliente. Em suma, uma franquia maior sem aviso e um carro pior pelo preço de um melhor. Gostaria de obter uma explicação.
Il personale è stato molto gentile e professionale nel verificare assieme lo stato della vettura prima del noleggio. Inoltre la cauzione è stata restituita con ricevuta al momento della riconsegna (senza danni) del veicolo.

É a empresa mais requisitada no aeroporto de Ponta Delgada e, por isso, é normal haver filas. O que não é muito normal é obrigarem-nos a voltar para uma fila do balcão depois de entregar a viatura. E ainda menos normal é, perante as minhas queixas, ter de ouvir piadolas de uma funcionária (Andreia Alegre) sobre o tema. Eu podia responder a isso, mas ainda é muito cedo ou É por isto (por obrigar os clientes voltarem ao balcão depois de entregar o carro) que somos únicos. Conselho: por mais um ou dois euros por dia, escolham outra empresa. Assim farei da próxima vez.
Charges occured without being notified a priori. Requested a 800 euros deposit while at the register,where we could not decline. Utter disappointment.
Cliente satisfeito! Fiz reserva do carro on line. Após o levantamento segui o meu destino, como não gostei do carro que me foi atribuído, regressei ao balcão passadas duas horas. Fizeram up grade sem problemas e por um valor que considerei aceitável. Vou continuar cliente!

Check-in and Check-out were ok, no surprises when returning the car. Waiting time was as short as possible, but they had to serve more customers as the other rental companies. The car itself was a bit old, Ford Fiesta with more than 100.000 km, air-conditioning was not working properly and the car was already covered with scratches when we received it. However, at drop-off they only checked for big damages, it took not more than 2 minutes.

After visiting the Azores Sao Miguel over 11 times in 30 years I have always used this company. Until my last trip Aug 2016 3 week vacation and was refused a rental because I had a Bermuda drivers license.
