Do not use this place. There is no one here they have to call someone to come and it takes 20 minutes to an hour. We had a reservation and the person could not come so we had to go to airport to get car and pay extra for airport pickup. Then we were told some one would be here when we returned and Noone here and they wanted us to drop at airport. This is a scam for airport hertz.
No fuss excellent customer experience! After an horrible car rental experience a few weeks earlier in Madeira, this time around my experience was one of the best in recent memory. When we got to the additional coverage upsell part, Jenny accepted without fuss using my Credit card’s coverage. The only minus is the steep 1750 € security hold on my CC in to cover any damage. Other than that, the check in and check was a breeze and both employees were extremely courteous. Another huge perk was that I got to drive a brand new sleek Peugeot 208 with around 5K kilometers (far better than the old dented Fiat 600 with almost 80K Goldcar gave me in Funchal).
Beware these scam artists! We were rented a heavily dented and scratched car. (We documented this on the contract and with photos.). We did not cause a single new scratch or dent. There was no one in the lot to check in the car when we returned, so we went to the terminal where we had to wait for someone to return the keys to. 11 days later, we received an email saying our credit card was being charged for damage we had done to the car. We got no explanation, documentation, or photos of this supposed new damage; this makes sense because there was no new damage. This Hertz franchise is being run by thieves. Beware and stay away!
Very inexpensive way to travel around the island for the day at our pace! The little car we got was so rugged it traversed dirt mountains and felt really reliable. Friendly customer service, the woman picked us up from the location and brought us to the airport because this location happened to be closed when we arrived.
I booked a car through Azores Getaways 5 months in advanced and paid the fee but when we finally got to the airport to pick up the car, they refused to let us pick up the rental without a 10,000 euro security deposit. Unfortunately, they couldn't accommodate us but we were able to rent a car from Autlantis with no fuss. Was just a disappointing experience that they couldn't accommodate our needs. Is this a normal amount of sec dep for a car rental company?
I reserved a Hertz car through Azores Getaways, but Hertz/296 Rent-A-Car did not honor the price on my reservation. They admitted, via email, that they overcharged me and owe me a refund. For many months, they have been ignoring my emails about receiving the refund. Be careful if you reserve a Hertz car in Ponta Delgada. Not sure if this is a scam.
Our experience with the Hertz Transportation (airport transfer service) on Wednesday 3.23.18 was horrible! First of all, they were late picking up the scheduled group of passengers... all of us with reservations from Azores Getaways Vacations. They sent a van much to small to accommodate everyone (knowing how many passengers and suitcases there would be). We had to load and unload our own suitcases as the disorganized team finally brought another van over to split up the group. Then, our driver who arrived with a serious attitude problem, proceeded to drive north of 150 kilometers in a 90 throwing passengers in our completely full van from one side crushing one-another. She was reckless and her attitude and behavior was completely unnecessary. We made other arrangements for our return trip even though we were not refunded by Azores Vacations!
I specifically ordered months in advance a Mercedes van (Vito), however, got a Peugeot van instead. I guess Hertz is allowed to do this as same category. At pick-up, the van didn’t start. Battery was dead. We had to wait 45 minutes for a different car to arrive (same model). This specific car had issues, some of which involved safety: while driving on a mountain twisty road at night we realized that the driver-side headlight isn’t working. One of the front windshield wiper blades rubber was peeling off (at the driver’s side), suboptimal water clearing (yes, it was raining hard). Minor issues: Sliding passenger door handle loose which made it difficult to operate the door. Part of driver’s door handle also missing. Inside: support holding handle missing, passenger side. I have pictures documenting the above. The break paddle was annoyingly squeaking. When returning the car I asked the Hertz associate for a coupon or discount. She said that she would love to do so, but since we booked online and not directly with the local office she couldn't provide any discount. I paid an arm and a leg for a bad car. This was the last time we’re renting with Hertz. Next time back to Enterprise, like our previous trips. VERY disappointed.

++ Hertz sitzt beim Peugeot Händler ++ Wir haben den Mietwagen über Check24 gebucht, Anbieter war sunny cars. In dem Angebot waren alle Versicherungen und zusatzfahrer inklusive, das wurde von Hertz auch 1:1 so übernommen (wir hatten schon mal einen Anbieter, der die Zusatzversicherung von Check24 nicht akzeptiert hat und wir extra eine abschließen mussten um das Auto zu bekommen). Der Service war gut, sind mit der Dame von Hertz gemeinsam ums Auto gegangen, sie hat alle Mängel genau aufgeschrieben, Tank exakt notiert und fertig. Das Fahrzeug war frisch gewaschen und hatte einen sehr sauberen Innenraum. Die Rückgabe war ähnlich unkompliziert - zusammen ums Auto gegangen, keine neuen Schäden festgestellt, Unterschrift, fertig.
Fuyez cet endroit !! La dame qui a vérifié le retour de la voiture de location a directement signalé une rayure microscopique sur laile arrière gauche sans même se donner la peine de frotter un peu pour vérifier si ce nétait pas de la poussière !! Jai frotté avec du tissu et on ne voyait plus rien à l il nu. Photo à lappui. Un peu froissée et comme elle avait déjà appelé lagence avec une photo de la trace de poussière elle a commencé à chercher dautres dégâts hypothétiques !! Nous avons du signer un document en contestant. Jattends de voir la suite mais nhésiterai pas à me défendre si ça devait aller plus loin !! Une seule personne peut vous gâcher les vacances ! Est elle encouragée à le faire..? Je me pose la question

Aluguei um carro na Hertz ponta delgada um renault Clio 2015 mas tinha umas escovas de limpa vidros todas desfeitas. Telefonei para a hertz disseram que iam trocar de carro.levantei o carro um Clio de 2014 ainda pior escovas limpa vidros gastas, a deslocação do vento infiltra-se no carro carro pela porta do condutor depósito com um quarto de combustível enfim, Hertz nunca mais...
Falsche Auskünfte bei der Übernahme des Fahrzeuges führten zu Problemen, Problemlösungen wurden von den Mitarbeitern nicht angeboten, friss und stirb ist hier die Devise der Büroleitung. Können wir leider absolut nicht empfehlen. Besser bei Ilha do verde buchen, die sind ein deutlich kundenfreundlicheres Unternehmen, auch wenn die Schlange etwas länger ist. Hertz sollte in seinen Büros vielleicht ab und an Qualitätskontrollen durchführen, das Büro am Flughafen Ponta Delgada ist meines Erachtens kein gutes Aushängeschild für das Unternehmen.

Wir sind am 10.05.2017 pünktlich am Flughafen in Ponta Delgada angekommen. Wie ca. 15 andere Mitflieger wollten wir unser bereits in Deutschland vorreserviert Fahrzeuge abholen. Am Schalter war lediglich ein junger Mann, im hinteren Bereich des Schalter befanden sich 3 andere Mitarbeiterinnen. Der junge Mann bevorzugte, warum auch immer, ständig später kommende Kunden. Dadurch verzögerte sich die Fahrzeug Übergabe auf über 2 Stunden. Erst kurz vor auflösen der Warteschlange erschienen drei andere Mitarbeiterinnen. Ich empfinde es als eine Frechheit Kunden so lange warten zu lassen. Insbesondere weil bekannt war das zu dem Zeitpunkt ein hoher Andrang zu erwarten war. Bei den Anderen Autovermietern am Flughafen bildeten sich keine Warteschlangen da dort zügig gearbeitet wurden. Nach diesem schlechten Service wird HERZ wohl mindestens 15 Kunden verlieren. MfG
Teníamos un coche alquilado con un paquete ya contratado desde España con Portugal tours, nos tenían que traer el coche a las 10 de la mañana, pedimos ayuda a las recepcinistas del hotel atlantico para ver si podían llamar por qué el tf de la oficina que nos figuraba no lo cogía nadie, decían que en 20 minutos traían el coche y después de 2 horas y media al no aparecer y no coger el tf decidimos alquilar un coche por nuestra cuenta con otra compañía, VAMOS UNA VERGUENZA Hertz ponta delgada no lo recomiendo nos dejaron tirados
