I had good past experience from renting cars from Gold Car in Spain. In Azores, Portugal, I rented from them again but this time, I have not been happy with my car. It is waaaay too expensive for what it is and it is not something I would feel very comfortable with. I rent cars regularly, and my lessons learnt here (and also from talking with others in the island) is not to book in advance (and fall into the cancellation fee trap) and try to book at the airport. By the way, Gold Car at this point does not have a desk in the airport and you have to call them on their direct office number (good luck seeing that in the tiny footnote paragraph of your booking confirmation). All in all, I don’t think I will work with this company again. On the positive side, the staff have been nice to me, but hey, you drive the car not the nice staff.

We have rented a car from Goldcar for several times. We always book the car directly with Goldcar with full insurance. The service is of a high standard, exactly as quoted. I don't understand the lower ratings from some other users as we always get what we booked and paid for, we have never been asked for any services beyond the booking at an extra cost. Their cars are reliable, the staff are helpful and there has never been a problem. The airport tranfer was perfect and immediate in both directions, all instructions absolutely clear

Renting from Goldcar in Ponta Delgada was such a great experience! The shuttle picked us up promptly at the airport, and lovely Catarina and Vania helped us out right away. They made sure to offer us a great upgrade with the best coverage on our rental, which made the trip hassle-free! On a side note, I would strongly recommend renting larger cars, like a Jeep Renegade, to tour the island. So many amazing spots became accessible for us!

5 stars but with one important point! We hired car rental 3 times from goldcar in ponta delgada. Each time they were fast, friendly (Nancy in particular) and the vehicles were new and clean. We’d highly recommend using goldcar. Make sure you get the super insurance which will allow you to relax and not worry about anything bumps or scratches to the car. He’s the big catch for some people. This car rental location is NOWHERE NEAR the airport. We were renting an Airbnb near the motorway and the goldcar location suited us perfectly as we could walk. But if we landed in airport and expected to get the car at the airport we would have been very disappointed. So I would just recommend goldcar change the name of their location. And for people to do their research. But other than that it’s really smooth and enjoyable!

Be careful to sign,book and speak with this company. After the checkingofthe salesman in the end of the rent( was everything good with the confirmation of the sales man)I have been charged for kind of smell that nobody felt it before. Tengo que decir que fueron muy agradables, rápidos y que nos dieron la informacion que necesitábamos. cambiamos de centauro a Goldcar. En Centauro nos pedian una fianza de 1300 , mientras que en goldcar, cogimos el seguro a todo riesgo (no el de devolucion, sino el que tienen ellos en el local y que cubría todo) Nos recogieron en el aeropuerto, un servicio bueno, rápido... Muy recomendable (eso si nosotros no nos complicamos y cogimos el seguro y un nisan juke por 119 , 4 dias)

No puedes ni recoger ni dejar en coche en el aeropuerto porque no tienen oficina. Te recogen en minibús. Si tu vuelo de vuelta es antes de las 8:00 te cobran 43 extras para llevarte. Publicidad engañosa. Nos engañaron con absolutamente todo. El coche que nos dieron tenía un fallo en el motor y nos dejó tirados. Nos cobraron también 15 extras que aún no sabemos de qué son. La chica de la oficina (morena pelo largo negro y rizado) fue extremadamente desagradable, sin ninguna voluntad de servicio ni intención de ayudar. En resumen, un auténtico fracaso. Hasta nunca GOLDCAR.

Très bonne expérience. Une navette vient vous chercher au P5 de l aéroport, le trajet dure à peine 5 minutes. C est très simple ! Les voitures sont en bon état et propre. La restitution du véhicule s est bien passée. L agence est sur une aire de station service; ce qui facilite le retour pour faire le plein d essence sur le lieu même ! Tuve una excelente experiencia con Goldcar en Ponta Delgada. Desde el principio, Henrique, el conductor de la furgoneta, fue muy amable y puntual al recogernos. En el mostrador, la persona que nos atendió fue igual de cordial y eficiente, lo que hizo que el proceso de recogida del coche fuera rápido y sin complicaciones. Además, dejar el coche y el regreso al aeropuerto fue igualmente ágil, facilitando todo el trámite. ¡Un servicio muy recomendable!

Fuyez ! La technique est bien rodée ne réservez pas chez eux ce sont des voleurs organisés je vais vous expliquer ! Ce n est pas mon habitude de critiquer mais là il faut dénoncer les abus de cette société. Tout d abord c est la seule agence qui n est pas dans l aéroport mais il faut marcher 500m voir un peu plus pour arriver à une guérîtes où vous devrez téléphoner pour qu on vienne vous chercher. Ils ne répondent pas de suite vous font attendre. Jusque là pourquoi pas si on paye moins cher mais l astuce de ce voleur est ici ! Il vient vous chercher en camion à ce poste à l extérieur de l aéroport et vous emmène 8 kms plus loin au bord d une rocade. Et là c est le fait accompli. Votre carte ne passera pas puisque c est marqué débit et non crédit et tout ce qui va avec comme méthode d intimidation. J ai voyager dans pleins de pays avec cette carte et je n ai jamais rencontré ce problème mais j ai voulu comprendre avec eux. Ils ont l air embêter mais ne veulent pas prendre la caution à 1200 sur votre carte prétextant que ce n est pas possible. « On va vous remmener à l aéroport.. » du coup il propose une assurance ! Surprise pour 60 / jour de plus pas de caution ! En négociant on arrive à 50 mais c est long et frustrant et on se prend 50 /jour de plus !!!! Par contre au moment de payer pas de soucis pour prend une caution à 111 pour le plein d essence (si vous ramener la voiture vide) Et là le loueur sourit et vous savez que vous vous êtes fait arnaquer !!!!! Bravo bande d escrocs ! Je vous confirme que ma carte bancaire fonctionne puisque revenant tout juste de Pico j ai utilisé la même carte bancaire qui a fonctionné parfaitement Je vous passe le détail qu ils n ont pas voulu me ramener au centre ville puisqu ils ne peuvent vous ramener que et uniquement à l aéroport !! Même pas à 1km derrière la rocade !! La personne m a donc laissé repartir à pied le long de la rocade ! Bravo la sécurité ! Je suis passé par EnjoyTravel pour louer la voiture chez ce voleur mais pour l instant leur réponse est clair c est ma faute !

Ni coges el coche en el aeropuerto ni lo dejas allí. Si no te amoldas a sus horarios te cobran 43 euros. Hemos esperado una hora para que alguien viniera a recoger el coche que dejamos. Encima nos cobran 13 euros por un concepto que llaman devolución inteligente. Tenemos que ir a aeropuerto en taxi porque no hay oficina. O sea se puede ser peor empresa??? Nunca más alquilaré un coche con esta empresa tan inútil.

Son unos sin vergüenzas, no alquiléis con esta compañía, me dejaron sin coche por no poder pagar con mi tarjeta virtual, se han cobrado 280,14 y se niegan a devolvermelo, me ofrecen que pague algún amigo con su tarjeta que eso infringe la política de la compañia evidentemente estaba en Ponta delgada y no conocía a nadie, me dejaron sin coche menos mal que al día siguiente pude alquilar con una compañía súper competente Micauto.

Siralmas reptéri felvételt és leadást választottunk az uberen keresztül. Felhívtuk el tte a céget, mert a szállásunk néhány km-re volt az irodájuktól, de azt mondták reptéri felvétel van. Taxival kimentünk a reptérre, ahova értünk jöttek és bevittek a központi irodába, ahova alapból menni szerettünk volna. Itt közölték, hogy 7-kor nem tudjuk leadni majd az autót a reptéren, hanem az irodában kell, de k csak 7-kor nyitnak, de ha fizetek 40 eurot, akkor kinyitnak 6-kor Azt, hogy kivisznek a reptérre 7:20-ig (max. 9 perces út) azt nem tudták garantálni, de ha el z este leteszem az autót akkor kimehetek taxival és így biztos nem késem le a gépet Arogáns, egyáltalán nem segít kész hölgy az asztal másik oldalán azért megpróbálta elsózni a 250 euros drágább biztosítást. Az autót nem vettük fel, természetesen nem hagyjuk ennyiben. Kerüljétek ket, remélem az uber sem futtatja sokáig a céget, a bérbeadás legalja.

Creímos haber cogido el coche con todo riesgo y la sorpresa nos esperaba en la oficina. Para completar el seguro sin problemas subió 180 el alquiler para una semana. Yendo con la familia no quisimos arriesgar ni tener problemas. Nos ofrecieron un kdjar en vez de un Clio por 15 más aún al día. El coche estaba bien y tiraba bien de potencia. Una vergüenza. Deberían poner todas las condiciones.

SON UNOS LADRONES, dejamos el coche igual que nos lo dieron, lo revisaron y todo perfecto, firmamos para cerrar el alquiler y nos dicen que nos devolverán la fianza de 1200 , a los 10dias nos devuelven 300 porque supuestamente lo han revisado otra vez y hay desperfectos en el coche, sin justificarlo con fotos ni con nada. Llamamos y no nos quieren atender en Español que o portugués o nada cuando ambos trabajadores tanto el que nos dio el coche como el que lo recogió hablaba perfectamente Español. SON UNOS MISERABLES.

Una vez llegados al aeropuerto como goldcar no tiene oficina allí si no que te llevan en un vehículo lanzadera no sabíamos donde teníamos que ir porque nadie nos avisó, por suerte dimos con Fabio el chico que nos llevó hasta las oficinas de goldcar unos 4 minutos en coche que aparte de llevarnos nos recomendó sitios que visitar de la isla que agradecimos mucho, un 10 para Fabio que aparte que le gusta su trabajo se ve que es un enamorado de la isla y eso se agradece.

Todo muy bien! Hemos alquilado un coche en esta oficina y fue todo en orden. Direcciones a donde encontrar la furgoneta que te lleva a la oficina salen en la web, está todo claramente indicado. The company is very far from the airport! The company s shuttle bringing the customers from the airport to the car rental s office was late. We had to wait 25 minutes to be picked up. I booked a car with GOLDCAR through their business partner discovercars . I paid for the car rent and a full coverage offered by www.discovercars.com. At GOLDCAR, they did not respect the car insurance offered by their business partner and made me buy another GOLDCAR S full coverage insurance . So I paid for the car rent and two full coverage insurances. At GOLDCAR S, we asked them to print out for me the terms and conditions of the rental. They told me to visit the website without stating what the exact link is. Terms and conditions are very important, as there are many exclusions in the insurance, where you lose your insurance however we could not find out what the exclusions were

I had no issue with goldcar. Yes they tried upselling me with an offer for a better car, and i expected it and did it on purpose - reserve a cheap car, then accept the cheap offer for an upgrade. Also, to prevent insurance scams on Rent a car for $4 a day! websites, I always check the actual agency website for their cost of insurance, and reviews on how these agencies accepted an exterior website insurance. In this case, their insurance was a bit more painless than all the insurance scams going on in Azores with rental agencies. All in all, as much as I hate this process of finding a decent agency, goldcar went smoothly. When booking, I would suggest making sure they have your contact number to pick you up at the airport in their shuttle at the right time, and paying close attention to the phone number in their email (there are 2 numbers) in case there is any issue.

Please don´t book here! Due to the wind conditions, our airplane can´t land on the airport Ponta Delgada. I tried to call the goldcar center, but it was closed. We called the the next day and the say, we lost our car and money, cause we haven´t pick up the car. This what they are doing many times a day and thousand times a year on an island, where many times, the arrivals by plane are impossible.

Serviço completamente deplorável a evitar a todos o custo! Está situação passou-se na Goldcar nos Açores! Para além das raparigas que estão a atender o cliente e a fazer o pick up serem bastante mal educadas foi cobrado no ato de entrega 250 de danos que nunca existiram! No ato da entrega do carro a trabalhadora da Goldcar nem se dignou a ver os danos da viatura comigo (cliente) , tendo eu avisado de um dano feito em um dos espelhos ao qual ela respondeu ok e nada fez !! Qual o meu espanto quando na entrega me cobrar um espelho novo por danos ao mesmo!! Simplesmente um serviço deplorável e a evitar a todo o custo !!

No recomanam en absolut aquesta companyia. A Terceira ens varen cobrar 38 euros per haver recollit el cotxe 3 minuts més tard de les 21 h, que era lhora estipulada. Ens varen dir que ens retornarien aquesta quantitat a canvi de contractar una assegurança de 67,02 euros. Ho vàrem fer, però no ens varen retornar mai els 38 euros. A São Miguel no varen acceptar que pagàssim la franquícia amb una targeta de crèdit que tenc comuna amb la meva parella perquè la reserva, lhavia pagada amb la meva pròpia. Tampoc no acceptaven el pagament en efectiu. Només acceptaven la targeta de crèdit comuna si contractàvem lassegurança més alta, cosa que no ens va quedar més remei que fer. A lhora de tornar-lo, no varen acceptar que la persona que fes la devolució fos una amiga que viatjava amb nosaltres i, per tant, el vàrem haver de tornar el vespre abans, 12 hores abans de la finalització del contracte.

We don t recommend this company at all. On the island of Terceira, we were charged 38 euros because we picked up the car 3 minutes later than 9 PM, which was the agreed hour. The girl at the counter said she would return us those 38 euros if we booked an insurance policy of 67,02 euros. We did, but the 38 euros were never returned. On the island of São Miguel, they didn t accept that we could pay the allowance with a credit card I share with my husband. Since I had booked the car with my own credit card, I could only use the same credit card to pay the allowance. They didn t accept cash either. Funnily enough, if we agreed to pay a highest allowance, then we could pay it with any credit card. We didn t have any other options. They even claimed they didn t have access to our on-line booking, which was totally unbelievable. Besides, we were a group of 4 people. Since 3 of us had an early flight, we wanted the fourth one to return the car. They didn t accept that either, so we were left with no options, rather than returning the car the night before, which was about 12 hours before the end of the booking period.

Rental in Ponta Delgada - Azores, terrible service (by 2 local employees), security deposit of 1790 , my visa didnt have such a high ceiling. I had to pay + 70 for an insurance to get around the security deposit, so a 1 day rental costed me 120 . Shameful. Avoid GOLDCAR as much as possible and if it has to be, check the car, or you may lose part of the deposit. Unscrupulous company. I did not give zero in the evaluation because it is not possible.

Please exercise caution when considering this rental location. They have been known to exploit customers through their scratch finder application. I highly recommend avoiding renting a car from them altogether. However, if you do choose to proceed, I advise conducting a meticulous inspection and documenting any existing damages with detailed photographs.

Best rent a car ever, I dont know about the others, but maybe, just maybe if they read everything, they would know what theyre buying, best service, they pick you up at the airport with a big welcome smile, they make you the rental, but of course, if youre paying 12/20 euro per day, you have to put the insurance, otherwise, its not worth it. I have been reading some coments, for exemple the gentleman how says they give them a car with a issue in the tire, my friends the car is delevered clean as new, maybe that person hit a side walk, without knowing, and off course its always better to put the complain in somebody they dont know, or maybe the weather wasnt great, or maybe is just somebody that is not satisfied with himself, resuming and after renting cars all over the world, is the best rental car, any dout let me know.

. Fomos muitíssimo bem recepcionados pela colaboradora Débora, quando chegamos ao aeroporto de São Miguel (sábado, 21:00). Conforme orientado pelo email de confirmação da reserva, a GoldCar não possui (pelo menos até a data 2024-03-16) balcão de atendimento interno ao aeroporto, mas logo ao saírmos da área de desembarque, a Débora já estava a nossa espera. A mesma nos atendeu ao levantamento da vitura e neste momento ela, nos orientou sobre todos os detalhes do veículo e ainda partilhou alguma dicas sobre a ilha, que nos foram bastante úteis. A viatura que recebemos, conforme contratamos, foi um FIAT500, do qual gostamos muito. Para duas pessoas (que foi o nosso caso), o veíulo antedeu muito bem (acredito que para até 4 pessoas, este veículo pode ser interessante). Quanto ao momento de devolução da viatura (horário 07:00), correu tudo rápido e sem problemas e logo já estávamos ao aeroporto novamente. Resumindo, gostamos muito da experiência com a Goldcar e com toda certeza, caso voltarmos a ilha de São Miguél, iremos fazer outra contratação com a Goldcar (inclusive, já recomendamos para alguns amigos). Temos apenas um detalhes para apontar, mas isto é em relação a experiência no Website: não consegui concluir/finalizar o contrato de aluguél da viatura, tivemos que ligar par ao atendimento (que também fomos muito bem atendidos) ..

I dont reccomend this car rental company. It is advertised as the cheapest car rental in the island - but that is obviously before THEY SCAM YOU they create create a ridicolously narrow set of criteria and if you dont fill those in your are charged a hefty price! Also, the car we got in the end didnt match the category of the one we booked and the side view mirrors were permanently dirty (if that if even a thing) we tried cleaning it, but to no avail.

0 recomendable! Reservamos por 4 días pero los 2 primeros estuvimos aislados en la isla de flores por mal tiempo. Al llegar te percatas de que no están en el aeropuerto sino fuera de él. Te ponen transfer pero al llegar a la parada otros clientes nos dicen que tardan como 30 en llegar. Empezamos bien. Al hablar con una trabajadora nos dice que al no haber llegado el primer día sí queremos usar la reserva nos deben cobrar un suplemento por falta de coches de esa gama. Y no solo eso sino pagar por los 4 días de la reserva cuando solo nos quedaban 2. Inaudito!! Tuvimos el mismo problema con otra compañía en otra isla y el trato no tiene absolutamente nada que ver. Incluso nos descontaron los días que no habíamos estado. A todo esto hay que sumarle la soberbia pura de una trabajadora de la que todavía estamos esperando una llamada con relación a nuestra reserva. Ojalá poder puntuar con un 0/5.

La dame qui nous a accueilli, était extrêmement désagréable et malhonnête. Nous avons loué un véhicule qui était dans un piteux état. Elle était rayée de partout avec des endroits où la carrosserie était carrément enfoncée et mal lavée ! Une honte. Jai voulu filmé le véhicule pendant que nous faisions le tour de celui-ci afin quil ny ai pas de problème au niveau de la restitution de la caution mais cette dame qui était dextrême mauvaise foi, nous a dit quelle ne nous autorisait pas à faire cette vidéo car nous étions susceptible dentendre sa voix en fond et ainsi de la reconnaître. Je nai jamais entendu ça et pourtant jai loué beaucoup de véhicules que ce soit chez Goldcar et/ou chez dautres loueurs. Je déconseille fortement !

Não se deixe enganar pelos preços baixos! O local é longe do aeroporto, terá de se afastar a pé do aeroporto para ser transportado. O carro oferecido não era o que eu reservei, e eu fui à força vendido porque não tinham um igual no local (o local tem muito poucos carros). Todos os carros estão em mau estado e danificados. Quando devolvemos o carro, foi-nos dito que nos seria cobrada uma taxa de limpeza por excesso de sujidade nos tapetes do chão. Tirámos fotografias para documentação e foi-nos dito imediatamente que já não haveria qualquer taxa. Muito suspeito!

Wir haben das Auto über Check24 mit Vollkasko und ohne Kaution gemietet. Die Abholung war super einfach und die Frau am Schalter ausgesprochen freundlich. Trotz Verspätung unseres Fluges wartete sie und empfing uns freundlich. Wir mussten lediglich eine Kaution in Höhe von 125 für den Tank hinterlegen. Bei Abgabe hat sie den Tank geprüft und uns bestätigt, dass wir das Geld zurück überwiesen bekommen. Wir können aus unserer Erfahrung nach Gold Car (über Check24)weiter empfehlen.

Todo perfecto. puse una reseña negativa porque no tenia la devolución de la fianza y después de enfadarme mucho con la compañía (casi un mes después) el error era de mi banco en cuanto he escrito a GOLDCAR Han solucionado el problema en cinco minutos, han vuelto a dar la orden de ingreso, la cual fue devuelta por mi banco el mismo día de la devolución del vehículo. Te recogen en el aeropuerto rápido en una furgoneta amplia y limpia. En menos de cinco minutos estás en la oficina ( en plena estación de servicio) y la devolución del vehículo rápida, sin problemas y en tres minutos estás en la puerta de la terminal con su transfer. Perdón por las críticas negativas que expuse, que en realidad correspondían a mi banco.

Fiz a reserva online e passado alguns dias deparei-me com um engano meu na reserva, ao qual foi resolvido prontamente por telefone. No local fui bem atendido e esclarecido por pornemores que na reserva online não fui bem ilucidado. O único ponto negativo a apontar é o transfer do aeroporto à loja da Goldcar ser no parque 6 que fica a +/- 1 km a pé. Aquando da viagem de regresso deixaram-me à porta do aeroporto. Se nota que los empleados van a comisiones cuando nos hacen coger el seguro completo. Estábamos dispuestos a depositar la franquicia, es más llamamos días antes para ver si se podía depositar con tarjeta de débito (para organizar a que nombre poner la reserva y a que disponemos de tarjeta de débito y también de crédito) y nos dijeron que sin ningún problema, al llegar nos dice que hay comisión muy elevada por dejar franquicia con tarjeta de débito (casi 100 euros), todo lo contrario que nos dijeron por teléfono. Una pena que siempre terminas cogiendo seguro completo Por lo demás, personal excellente y muy buen servicio.

The fact that the Pick-up of the car isn t at the airport was not communicated at all, we just had to get into a van and they didn t even explain why. After that at the front desk we had the worst experience ever. The insurance we paid for was completely useless according to the lady and she aggressively convinced us to buy a bigger one that costed as much as the whole rental itself. She literally made me cry she was so pushy. I guess she gets a comission on these as she was trying to scare us how bad the roads are at Sao Miguel. We never felt so betrayed and will never recommend GoldCar to anyone.

The rental office is not at the airport. The information is cleverly hidden, so we didnt expect that. Information about the possibility of a free shuttle bus is almost zero, so we preferred to pay for a taxi and get there on our own. The car was cheap and the quality and age corresponded to that. We rented a car from Goldcar, May 16 - May 30, 2023. We travel to Sao Miguel frequently and have rented many different cars there, but this was our first rental with Goldcar. We were told at the time of picking up our car that our booking included a 19 euro charge to fill up the car, so we could return the car either empty or full. We stated we preferred to return the car with a full tank of gas, as this is what we always do, but we were told that this was part of the booking process and could not be changed, so we did not fill up the car when we returned it. Everything was fine for the return and we were told the receipt would be emailed to us. We were taken to the airport for our flight home. When we looked at the receipt we saw a 50 logistics charge. We immediately called Goldcar and were connected with someone in Spain. They said we would have to email the company, which we did on our return. Several emails back and forth resolved nothing. The company refused to credit our 50 charge and a request to speak with a manager about their unclear policy was never honoured. This appeared to be a sneaky way of upcharging customers and we will not rent from Goldcar again.

Propose une assurance en disant que celle faites avec lapplication de réservation ne couvre pas tous les frais, donc frais supplémentaires. Il faut marcher pendant 10 minutes à la sortie de laéroport (avec tout ses bagages) pour arriver sur un parking et sentendre dire quil faut appeler par téléphone, donc attendre encore un quart dheure pour quils viennent nous chercher. It was the cheapest offer we found, and we were prepared for the standards of a low cost car rental service - it turned out to be better than we expected based on the reviews. The employees were nice, and we got a small but recent car (which nevertheless had some issues, such as impossible to adjust the rear mirrors). We didnt have any issues when returning the car. The agency is not easy to find, and the shuttle that takes you to the agency leaves from a parking space that is quiet far from the airport terminal. Overall, it worked out fine for us.

Ils vous disent que votre carte de crédit ne peux pas être prise pour le dépôt de garanti... car carte de débit, jamais vu ça. Nous sommes parti nous avons perdu l argent versé pour la réservation. Mais nous avons bien fait car c est une arnaque très bien rodée, qui mérite d être dénoncée, et ces personnes devraient ne plus avoir le droit d exercer.....

It is very inefficient to walk to a meeting point (P6 at the airport) and then be picked up by a bus to get to your car. I apparently did not pick the right refueling plan. Full tank on return. Instead I had to leave it as it was and they would do it for me. Part of the CarJet middle man scheme. The woman behind the GoldCar desk could not change that but upgrades were possible of course. They will block 1200 euro on your creditcard for damages. If you need that money for your holidays you are forced to make more payments etc. All in all horrible experience. There are other options. Explore those ;)!

Seid langem mal wieder eine schlechte Erfahrung mit einem Mietwagenanbieter gehabt. Einen festen Zeitraum gewählt und diesen auch angegeben. Abgabe 06:00. Alles kein Problem. Keinerlei Komplikationen ersichtlich. Preis online bezahlt. Vor Ort heißt es dann wir machen erst um 07:00 Uhr auf und eine Schlüsselbox für die Rückgabe gibt es auch nicht. Einfach auf den Hof stellen ist ebenfalls nicht erlaubt und Schlüssel deponieren wäre nicht möglich. Einziges Angebot 40 extra dafür das jemand um 06:00 Uhr kommt oder das Auto 1 Tag früher abgeben (ohne Rückerstattung) und 2x Taxifahrt bezahlen. Mietwagen Station - Hotel - Flughafen. Für so einen Aufwand und diese versteckten Gebühren bezahle ich tatsächlich keinen Mietwagenanbieter am Flughafen... Eine einfache Schlüsselbox ist mittlerweile nahezu überall vorhanden und ja wohl wirklich kein Aufwand. Den enormen Zeitaufwand jetzt mit Taxi und Bus hin und her zu fahren habe ich jetzt obwohl der Mietwagen von Landung bis Abflug am Flughafen gebucht und bezahlt wurde. An den Zeiten hat sich nichts geändert. Schade aber das war mein letztes mal mit Goldcar. Ilha da Verde konnte ich bei der letzten Anmietung hingegen sehr empfehlen. Sind auch direkt am Airport!

Experiencia nada recomendable. Para empezar, la oficina no está en la terminal y cuesta un poco encontrar el aparcamiento desde donde te llevan a su sede. Esto no sería gran problema si no llega a ser por lo que vino después. Hay que destacar que la barrera del idioma no ayudó nada (la empleada que nos atendió hablaba portugués e inglés). Fue muy muy lenta, lo que hizo que tuviéramos que salir ya de noche. Hizo muchísimas cosas en el ordenador, papel para arriba, papel para abajo... Nos dice que no hemos contratado ningún seguro y únicamente nos da la opción de pagar la franquicia...la friolera de 1321 que se nos devolverían a los 20 días más o menos. Nos explica que se nos devolverá en su totalidad si el coche se entrega sin ningún daño y con el depósito lleno. Esto nos lo explica metiendo miedo de que si el coche sufre el mínimo daño tendríamos que pagar grandes cantidades si no cogemos la franquicia. Tras haber parecido entender que no queríamos cogerlo y nos arriesgábamos a pagar los desperfectos que pudiéramos causar al coche, nos pone directamente en el datáfono la cantidad de 1321 para pagarlos. Para salir de una vez de allí, los pagamos. Ya de noche, nos invita a ver los roces con los que nos llevábamos el coche...sin ver absolutamente nada, con la linterna del móvil. Finalmente sí que nos devolvieron la totalidad de la franquicia el mismo día de dejar el coche. No recomendaría absolutamente nada Goldcar. Me parece que juegan al engaño y utilizan publicidad engañosa.

I never rate businesses but this one is truly worth avoiding. You have to walk as far as possible,almost a kilometer, to dial a number to wait for a shuttle that takes you a dirty gas station to get your car. If you are dumb enough to use this company please pay close attention to the reserved rental start time. I made the mistake of using the default time of 12 noon knowing that I would be after that. I arrived at 2 and they told me I had to return the car at 12 noon not 2 pm. My flight was 4pm. They stole 2 hours of my time and it was very inconvenient. I advised that I have a handicap that makes walking difficult and that the original trek was unbearable. I asked if the return shuttle could drop at departures. Nope.

A éviter! De vrais commerciaux! les tarifs sont attractifs mais lorsque l on récupère la voiture on nous propose, en insistant, une assurance (qui double le tarif) pour ne pas avoir besoin de laisser une caution (empreinte bancaire) de plus de 1200 . Les locaux ne sont pas à l aéroport comme on pourrait le penser, une navette s occupe de faire les A/R mais elle vous déposera pas devant l aéroport mais au P6 où il faudra ensuite marcher avec vos valises pendant 10min. Le personnel n est pas agréable et ne souhaite pas vous aider.

Chequea bien la hora a la que tienes que dejar o coger el coche porque fuera de horario a mayores tienes que abonar 40 , está lejos del aeropuerto aunque te llevan y te traen su horario es a partir 7 de la mañana ojooo a vuelos que hay que hacer el check in, aunque hagas reserva te van a meter un seguro adicional de 60 por lo que al final te merece la pena revisar todas las posibilidades disponibles y mirar las que están en aeropuerto que son más cómodas a la hora de dejar y coger el vehículo, por lo demás todo OK

Update 16.10.2023: As described by goldcar in the response to my review, I have contacted customer service again, but have not received an answer for a week. Even by phone they could not or would not help me. Original review: Unfortunately, our experience with Goldcar was very bad. Here is a brief overview. Location: In my opinion, it is absolutely brazen to list Airport in the name of the rental, when the station is anything but at the airport. In fact, the station is located at a rest stop and that caused us some back and forth in the planning. There is a shuttle, but you have to wait until an employee takes time to drive you. Payment and Deposit: Payment by debit card worked without a hitch. Also the deposit was made in this way. What really made me mad is that almost a month has passed since the return and I still havent received the deposit back. This is simply unacceptable in 2023 and in the age of instant transfers and the changing interest rate environment. I am not willing to lend money to a company like Goldcar. There is no real way to get in touch with customer service regarding this. Insurance: As also written in other reviews, they try to sell an expensive insurance during pickup. Fortunately, I had already taken out one through the booking portal and paid there only 20% of the price offered by Goldcar. The discussion with the employee on the subject was nevertheless very unpleasant. She wanted to see the insurance document and searched it for anything. Only when I said that I would be happy to call there to clarify the scope, we could suddenly change the subject. The car: To be fair: The car was relatively new and in good condition. Damage: When I received the car, it was raining, so it was difficult to see any damage so far. Only one damage was marked on the note from Goldcar, but I found another one, which the employee noted on the sheet at my request. What makes me really angry: After the handover, you automatically receive an email with the handover protocol and the note that only this is valid. However, the second damage that I found was not listed there. When returning the employee noticed another scratch on the hood, for which I must of course pay. Contraté un vehículo en Ponta Delgada (Azores) del 15 al 21 de octubre. Debido a climatología, el vuelo de Ryanair tuvo que volver el día 15 a Lisboa, así que hasta el 16 no pudimos volver a intentar llegar a Ponta Delgada. Cual fue mi sorpresa que, cuando pudimos contactar con Goldcar, nos dijeron que no podríamos recoger el coche alquilado puesto que no me presenté a recoger el coche el día contratado. Me han hecho alquilar de nuevo el coche, algo totalmente surrealista teniendo el cuenta que el vuelo no llegó por fuerza mayor, no es que yo perdiera el vuelo o no me presentara por propia voluntad. Evidentemente, al tratarse de una cláusula totalmente abusiva, llevaremos este tema a la Oficina del Consumidor. CONSEJO: Contratar por teléfono el alquiler del vehículo. Si no te presentas no pueden cobrarte el alquiler.

You get what you pay for. They were the cheaper option, meaning off the airport, and you had to get a shuttle from the last parking lot. They arent 24H, so if you have a very early flight, a 7am return cuts it very close. The computer operated damage system seems questionable, so I inspected the car with a fine tooth comb and flashlight as it was nighttime, making sure to point out everything that I didnt think was listed.

Bitte hier nicht buchen! Der Preis war zwar günstig und das Auto okay, bis auf bisschen viele Warnzeichen. Das Schlimmste waren die 1228 Euro Deposit, das wir bezahlen mussten, was uns bei Check 24 nicht angezeigt wurde. Nur durch 90 Euro extra, hätten wir kein Deposit bezahlen müssen. Es wird mit günstigen Preisen gelockt, die aber den besagten dicken Haken haben....

A company that cheats customers. 1. Not at the airport 2. They forced overpriced insurance on us 3. They didnt have a car in the category we booked 4. They contacted me after 8 months to say I had received a parking ticket. They wanted me to fill in identification information they already had from when I rented the car. I did not provide them with anything without submitting the fine. All they sent me was that I got the ticket at a time and place that according to my location history from my phone I was not! I sent this to them and they still charged my credit card without my knowledge for the 50 administrative costs with the fine. Luckily I noticed this in time and notified my bank, who refunded the money. Never again the worst car rental company!

Scammy as hell. If you dont own a credit card they will require a 50eur per day insurance. Since I dont have a credit card I was supposed to pay 300eur extra for 6 days for a 650eur rental (for like the smallest car in their fleet) which is just ridiculous because they knew and admitted I could use my debit card and it will work to block the deposit, but they just wont do it so they can upsell you their scammy insurance. Other companies will only ask for 10eur per day for their insurance, but these guys are out to make a mint on you. I ended up canceling that booking (I only lost 40eur which I paid upfront) and after a bit of search I went with a local company which gave me a better car for 50% less than what I would have paid here and no deposit required because they actually value and trust their customers to respect their contract. I recommend you not to give in, cancel, find another company and enjoy your vacation.

In short: Consider other providers if same price. Cheap rentals, but the car I got had more undocumented damages than documented ones. Including chips in the windscreen, dents, scratches, cracked mirror housing and water in rear light. Nothing dangerous, but look out or you may be presented with a surprise bill at the end. Id call it unprofessional, although Im under the impression its not on purpose. Its a bit inappropriate though, that certain staff get upset when you decline extra insurance and point out the undocumented damage upon pickup...what am I supposed to do, let it go and hope for the best with a 4 digit excess payment? No thanks, been there, done that. Calling it an airport station is misleading. Its at a gas station on the other side of town. Albeit with a shuttle service. EDIT: I used the link Goldcar provided below. Leads to an email address, not sure what to do and their response time is within 14 working days. I can see they are trying but are perhaps being let down by their own processes.

To begin with, it is not at the airport. On top of that, they give us problems with the card because it has to be a credit card and it cannot be virtual and for the joke they go and charge you 300. As mentioned in the other reviews, the name is misleading as the car rental is not at the airport. The staff was friendly, but they were trying to sell the additional insurance quite harshly but this is common in car rental business. In the end, we had only basic insurance and the returning of the car was quick a simple. The car was new with some scratches and we did not have any problem with it during ou travel. We did not pay any additional money for the service, they send me the deposit of 1 200 EUR + 129 EUR for gas 5 days after the car has been returned. I suggest you to spend some money on car wash before returning the car, so it is clearly visible, that there are no new scratches or dents. Generally, I do not like car rental services, but this one was OK.

¡¡MUCHO CUIDADO!! - La oficina no está en el aeropuerto, te llevan en un transfer. La forma de conducir de la mujer rubia que nos llevó fue totalmente temeraria. - A pesar de llevar seguro todo riesgo sin franquicia, nos casi obligan a pagar otros 21 para que el servicio en carretera sea eficiente si nos pasa algo, metiéndonos miedo de que podrían tardar horas en recogernos si no pagamos este extra. - Nos cobran otros 152 en concepto de fianza por si no devolvemos el combustible lleno. - Al llegar al coche vemos que el depósito está a 7/8, y en el contrato pone que te lo entregan a 8/8. Se lo decimos, se hacen las locas diciendo que no pasa nada, y a base de insistir conseguimos que nos pongan a mano en el boli que va a 7/8. - El sitio del conductor iba sin alfombrilla y muy deteriorado. - El día de la devolución empieza el show. Vienen a decirnos que no hemos entregado el depósito lleno, que va a 7/8. Acabábamos de llenarlo en la gasolinera de al lado y como sospechábamos, tiene una boya puesta para que nunca pase de 7/8 y puedan cobrarte la fianza. Menos mal que pudimos enseñarle su anotación a boli de que nos lo dieron a 7/8. - Nos dicen que nos envían al e-mail el documento de fin de contrato y que en unos días nos ingresarán de vuelta los 152 . Nos empiezan a meter prisa para que subamos las maletas al transfer, pero les decimos que vamos a esperar a que llegue el email. Dicen que no se habrá enviado bien y lo vuelven a enviar. Ahora sí me llega, y son dos PDF con las plantillas estándar que usan pero sin datos. Les decimos que esos documentos no nos sirven y nos lo enseñan en la pantalla de su ordenador, pero ¡Oh sorpresa! dicen que no les funciona la impresora y que si queremos llevárnoslo tenemos que esperar un largo rato a que llegue su responsable. Le decimos que no tenemos prisa y se empiezan a poner nerviosas, diciéndonos que tienen que recoger a otras personas, que confiemos en ellas que ya nos llegará la documentación. Finalmente, al ver que no nos movíamos, cogieron nuestro documento de recogida y sobre él escribieron y sellaron que el vehículo se devolvió lleno y que nos devolverían la fianza. - Tuvimos que conformarnos con esta única evidencia de que el coche se devolvió bien, y de nuevo viaje con conducción temeraria de vuelta al aeropuerto, esta vez cortesía de la otra chica rubia, Joana.

VERY FAR FROM THE AIRPORT, even though on the contract they give information as they are at the airport of Ponta Delgada - WRONG. Staff doesn t even pretend to be friendly and make you feel welcomed. They don t even pick you up from the arrival parking zone but you need to walk with all your belongings at least 400 meters to catch the shuttle that will take you to the local office. and they don t even drop you back at the departure gate. They will again stay on their spot and need to walk back to the airport. Very old and used cars. GO FOR A LOCAL COMPANIES - they are sooo much better! Gold car may be good only on mainland.

A goldcar não tem os carros no aeroporto. Mas assim que cheguei e fui até ao parque 6 onde tem o posto liguei para o contato e o transfer foi de imediato nos buscar. A funcionária que nós atendeu foi fantastica. O carro estava em ótimas condições. A entrega foi super rápida e voltaram a nos levar de transfer até ao aeroporto.

Troppo lontano dallaeroporto. Praticamente ti portano con il pulmino a 5 km circa. Totalme fuori mano. Chiude alle 23 e riapre alle 7 di mattina. Se per sfortuna, come è capitato a noi il volo è la mattina presto , ti tocca portare la sera prima e prendere taxi per alloggio e taxi la mattina dopo per aeroporto. Scortesi. Sia in loco che al call center. Nessuna voglia di trovare una soluzione. Addirittura dopo un po il call center ha sbattuto il telefono in faccia a mio marito. Mai più. PÉSSIMO, NÃO ALUGUEM CARROS AQUI!! Pagamos o aluguer+seguro on-line e quando chegamos lá tínhamos de fazer um co-pagamento de 1300 ou pagar 80 de seguro (segundo a funcionária, o seguro que fizemos on-line não valia de nada, o que não se percebe então porque é que colocam esse seguro do carro no site de 25 +/-) RIDÍCULO. Para quem não conhece e foi a primeira vez aos Açores, para ir buscar o carro alugado da Goldcar tem que andar a perguntar onde é que está a carrinha dos mesmos para transportar as pessoas; enquanto que as outras agências esperam mesmo ao pé do aeroporto pelos clientes com uma placa de indicação, quem aluga nesta agência tem que andar meio quilómetro até encontrar a carrinha.

Really dont recommend this place. They scam you in trying to get a insurance which is more then the cost of the car itself. Also if you dont have a credit card you cannot pay a deposit for the car forcing you to get the insurance, other then this they advertise that they are at the airport which they are clearly not. The last point is that we got a way older car then we chose on the website and the car was a bit dirty as well. So overal I really do not recommend this place, try to hire your care someplace else.

In the car appeared 3 signals, blinker back right didnt work, lost power and tyres pressure. When I called the assistence for the power they told is a warning (yellow), no need to do anything. If you want you can change the car. Also they sold me an extra insurance (with a charge over the webpage, telling me that I will go offroad and there was a possibility of punch tyres, etc...) That was an offer with megarelax and super relax (But then was more expensive and in different lines). This girl was a true lier. Last time with goldcar. Cars quality and service cheaters. Pior experiencia com uma rent a car No aeroporto P Delgada não tem loja, Existem cerca de 15 rent a car mas gold car nada, andei a chuva cerca de 1km ate encontrar o tal P6 onde está uma carrinha a vossa espera. Com tudo pago tive que pagar mais 150 de seguro ROUBO!!! Paguei por um carro sem ser o mais barato ( nao gosto de carros pequenos ) aparçem me com um fiat 500 NUNCA MAIS
