Jai vécu un incroyable expérience avec Northroad . . Jai pu mentretenir avec une dame très gentille et accueillante parlant parfaitement le francais . Jai aussi pu changer avec le personnel avec mon niveau danglais limité . Ils sont très sympatique, et de tres bons conseils pour aller faire une balade sur la douro . La moto loué était en tres bon état . Les prix pratiqué sont vraiment tres correct . Merci Northroad, je suis rentré en france avec une superbe experience et pleins de belles images de votre pays .. Wir haben uns für einen Tag zwei Maschinen ausgeliehen. Wir wurden sehr freundlich empfangen und super beraten. Uns wurde eine Route für eine Tagestour ins Douro Valley empfohlen. Die Tour war klasse! Leider hatten wir einen kleinen Zwischenfall bei dem etwas Lack vom pulverbeschichteten Sturzbügel abgeplatzt ist. Uns wurden für die Reperatur 40 berechnet, was absolut gerechtfertigt und vollkommen verständlich ist. Die Kaution blieb dabei unberührt und wurde sofort nach Abgabe der Bikes wieder freigegeben. Für die hohe Kaution ist es ratsam eine Kreditkarte mit einem hohen Kredit Rahmen zur Verfügung zu haben. Da meine Freundin ihren Führerschein erst seit einigen Monaten hatte, betrug die Kaution alleine für ihr Bike 2.400 , welche dann auf der Kreditkarte geblockt wurden. Wir würden Northroad jederzeit wieder nutzen und vielleicht machen wir das auch, wenn wir mal wieder in der Gegend sind. Betonen muss ich am Ende noch die professionelle und freundliche Art aller Mitarbeiter. Hier hatte man von Anfang an ein sehr gutes Gefühl. Vielen Dank für die schöne Zeit Liebes Northroad Team. Update vom 06.09.24 Nach ziemlich genau einem Monat wurde die Maut von der Kreditkarte, durch Northroad abgezogen. Es gab Tracker die automatisch an den Mautstellen gescannt wurden. Einfach durchfahren und durch Northroad sogar noch ein paar Prozent Mautgebühren sparen. Top! :)

I went to the shop with the intent to look at the bikes. I met Francisco a very passionate and friendly guy. He let me browse all their bikes and equipment. The bikes are well maintained and the service for sure is great. Once the sun is back I will come for a ride. Obrigado see you! Edit. I had a day of sun. Rented a Honda 750XL Transalp. Perfekt ride. Gave it back everything perfect. Today there where more guys at the shop. All cool and kind. Open for a little chat about biking and eager to know if you where happy. If you need a bike. Rented a scooter for touring 5 days. Got free upgrade to larger topbox and deposite was returned no problem. Had to get road-service to kickstart because flat battery (Own fault). This was with no extra cost. Trustworthy place and good service!

Excellent experience with the rental of the LML 125 scooter -like the Vespa- at the best price. One of the best ways to explore Porto is by motorcycle. It is very easy to get around the city, they give you a map and recommend various routes -they speak Spanish, English, etc-. We take the opportunity to see and do everything. Brilliant!!

Very warm welcome, everything went well and we had a good day with our royal Enfield interceptor in perfect condition. If you want to rent a motorbike in Porto this is the place to go.

Rented a motorcycle for two days, booking only a few days in advanced. They only had one available, a CB500X. This was in April, so prepare to have few options, if any, during the high season unless you book well in advanced. Traffic in Porto is MISERABLE, and getting two and from the location on the river is an absolute nightmare. Like, hours long traffic jams to go a mile or two. Apparently it s far worse in the summer. Get moving early before traffic gets bad, and just give up on trying to return the bike between the hours of 4PM and 7PM (at the river location) unless youre willing to break every traffic law known to man. Bike was mostly fine. It was really dirty, as they didn t bother to clean it before I got it. Not the most comfy, especially 2-up. Frankly, I would have overlooked just about all of this if they hadnt scammed me for 100 euro on a small scratch on the storage box. I m sure that I didn t even cause the damage. I took photos of the bike when I rented it, but I didn t even think to include the storage box hanging off the back, so the photos cut off right where the scratch was. The scratch was VERY minor, about the size of a golf ball (see pics), and would have easily been missed by me and the rental guy, as we were focused on the bike itself. I noticed it on my second morning, but I ended up having pics of it from some point during my first day. I mentioned it when I brought the bike back thinking that they d shrug it off. I doubt they would have even noticed had I not. So much for being honest They don t even have a storage box on the damage diagram, only a diagram of the motorcycle itself, so there s not even a place to mark if there were damage. I feel like they just used it as an excuse to charge me an extra from the card they had on file. They originally threatened to charge me something like 190, but I had pointed out that a brand new storage box would be way less. Note that the storage box already had thousands of KM of use on it and small scuffs throughout and was really dirty. Also note that they did the extra expenditure without my authorization. I would feel different if I had caused the damage, and especially if that damage were on the bike itself, or maybe even if they were more reasonable with the costs, which I would have considered as a lesson in making sure you have enough photos when you rent something. But instead, I feel like I fell for a scam. So be advised, if there is even the slightest ding on a part that isn t even the motorcycle, they re gonna try and get you. I can t imagine what they would do if you did actual damage. Or if you scratched a helmet or other gear. While motorcycling around was fun, there are plenty of other activities that won t involve dealing with Porto s horrible traffic AND run you the risk of getting scammed.

Fantastic company and experience. I had a last min reservation and they took very good care of me. I had a wonderful time riding on the Royal Enfield Interceptor. The bike worked perfectly and was well maintained. I will ride with them again!

I cannot recommend NorthRoad highly enough. We rented a Honda CB500X for a two day trip. The bike was great, the pricing excellent and the service beyond exceptional. Tiago the owner is an absolute star. The best part or our tour in Portugal, they totally made our trip. I would definitely be using this company again.

Rented a 110cc scooter, great overall experience - friendly & flexible staff, bike in very good condition, reasonable price. Check-in process could be a bit quicker, but they even gave a heads-up how long it ll take.

Notre road trip s est parfaitement déroulé grâce à la moto proposée, une Himalayan de chez RE, très bien préparée, avec des extras de bonne qualité (veste, gants, boîtier péage, support téléphone). Le gérant parle 5 langues, est extrêmement sympathique et de très bons conseils, un vrai passionné ! Un petit coup d oeil à sa magnifique Royal Enfield des années 30 et hop, on démarre direction la vallée du Douro ! Mille mercis pour cette excellente expérience et à bientôt !

Tiago and Alexandra are like a breath of fresh air. They are very friendly and helpful, and really made my rental experience in Porto, a positive one. After dreadful dealings, trying to rent with Hertz Ride and Europcar, I came across their website. Alexandra was extremely helpful and friendly over the phone and was able to accommodate a booking of a BMW R1250GS for the following day. On top of that, they have a full range of accessories for hire (jacket, helmets, gloves, phone mounts, in addition to readily available motorbikes at the location. They also provide toll tags at no cost (other than usage). Tiago was happy to provide advice on my day tour over the Duoro River, and I spent the most exciting 12h riding on the day. Highly recommended Northroad for bike/tours whilst in Porto!

We rented a CB500 from Northroad and we had an awesome experience. Manuel & Alessandra were both extremely helpful and the whole experience was a great one. I would easily rent from them again!

The BMW F 750 GS what just ok. Maintenance was just OK. Chain and clutch needed to get tight up. Windshield was too short. People were pretty nice. Just a thing, we had experienced some traffic jam on the way back and they obliged us to pay for another day because we were 2 hours late whereas no one else would be taking the bike after us. Riding equipments are way too cheap and low quality. GPS Support was great.

Unfortunately we had forgotten to confirm the reservation, so thats our own fault. But the person there just said no I dont have any bikes available and walked off. He didnt offer any advice on what to do next or where else we could go looking or if we could perhaps come back the next day.

Pros. The location and convenience of the the shop is exceptional. They were quick and easy to work with. When I called they were quick to help and got me on Motorcycle quick. They gave fantastic advice about which routes to take and how to get where I was going. Cons. (This may be bais.) Im an avid motorcycle rider and have riden through multiple countries. This has been the worst maintained equipment I have seen from a shop. The motorcycle, tenere 700, T7 ( a bike I am/was looking to purchase for myself) had major chain slip issues. Anytime I changed gears I had to feather the clutch so it would engage. Good luck overtaking anyone. With that said, I was two up and my wife was uncomfortable after one hour (this is probably due to the mods on this T7, center stand, crash bars, and OEM seat). Ultimately this experience soured my perspective of the yamaha tenere 700 (mostly drive chain isues), but was a fantastic experience riding one of the best motorcycle routes arguably in the world.

People were really willing to propose me the best solution they could. I went there for renting a motorbike that I could drive with my car driving licence, and they did everything to have a motobike that suit me. They also gave me some good advices for trips around Porto. I really recommend them for the good service.

The service and advice are great. Here we rented two e-bikes and 2 Ducati Scramblers and took the bikes on a great tour along the coast and beaches of Gaja. We were in Pinhao with the motorbikes. This route consists only of curves. A dream to ride a motorcycle.

We rented a BMW GS for four days at Northroad and everything went very smooth and well. Before picking up the bike we received some helpful route advice for our tour through the Douro valley and Serra da Estrella. We could also leave our luggage at the office. The bike and the equipment (side and top cases, helmet etc.) was in good shape. I would definitely recommend them, especially because they run their business in a professional and warmly manner. If ever Ill be back in Porto, I know where to grab a bike.

Easily the best rental experience Ive ever had. I did the 7 day self-guided tour of Portugal and split up my review based on the bike, the itinerary and the Northroad staff. The bike - 5 stars, got what I wanted (BMW 750GS), comes with side bags and top case with a GPS unit. Bike was new, great tires, protective cages, performed incredibly well and was a pleasure to ride. The itinerary - from twisty mountain roads, to rolling hills, to oceanside cliffs, to cobblestone villages with castles - this tour has it all. There is no better way to ride a motorcycle and explore the beautiful country of Portugal. The staff - I dealt with Tiago over email and Manuel/Miguel in person. Couldnt have found anyone more passionate and dedicated to the work they do. They were extremely helpful from initial emails to pick up and drop off. I wish we had an organization like this in the USA. When Im back in Portugal, Im hitting these guys up again and you should to!

I was on the guided trip in November 2021 and I have to say that It was one of the greatest experiences in my life. First of all, the staff. Our guide Tiago who is not only a great rider but also extraordinary navigator, sometimes teacher, and all the time person who take care of good atmosphere among the team. Tiago was also a link between our international group and Portugal: local traditions, cusins and language. When we were riding along the Portugal off-road and on-road sections our group was fallowed by Jose who made sure that nobody would get lost, was helping us each time we had any problems e.g. with lifting our motorbikes after falling down. Last but not least Miquel, who was taking care of our luggage and supported us from the van, and during the evening gave us pieces of information about Portuguese history. Second, very important element, of the whole trip is the track. We had mix of all: off-road with mud, dust, stones, gravel, rivers (not very big ), mountains with climbing, on-road with tight corners and even highway at the end. Each person can find something for himself, and each part is interesting, sometimes challenging, sometimes tiring but each time satisfying. Rout type is one thing but the views is another: Portugal is a beautiful country, with different landscapes, with mountains and lowlands during the trip we could see it all, and it was breathtaking. Each night we spent in different place, and again it was mix of different types of accommodation: sometimes very simple hotel rooms, sometimes luxury apartments near vineyards. Each element of the trip had been buttoned to the last button. The trip for sure is worth the money one have to spent. It was unforgettable experience for me, and I am sure that it will be for you too.

Pour ma part, N108 en partant de Porto puis N210 destination Mondim de Basto. Northroad dispose également dautres modèles très récents (+ou- puissants). Tarif tout à fait correct compte tenu des véhicules proposés.

Rented a Ducati Scrambler and I cant describe the joy I felt driving a couple of days around Portugal. The bike was perfect for riding the mountains and valleys in lovely Portugal on the national roads. It was simply amazing. The staff was very friendly and helpful, they helped me plan the trip and let me know of any problems I might face also gave me a device to use highways for free. First day I went from Porto to National Park Geres and Guimares. And the Next day I went Mondim de Basto, then through Alvao to Pinhao to finnaly head back to porto across the wonderful roads next to Duro river. Thank you NORTHROAD :)

For me is the best place to rent a bike in Portugal. The employee is very atencious. The bikes are new and very well maintained. I recomend! The region is very beautiful too!

Top organisierte Motorradtour Portugal/Nordspanien (Self Guided Tour 5 Days) Ende September/Anfang Oktober 2019 haben meine Frau und ich eine Motorradtour (Self Guided 5 Days) mit Northroad gemacht. Die Buchung und Vorplanung im Internet verlief unkompliziert. Tiago von Northroad hat uns sehr freundlich begrüßt und die Tour anhand Roadbook und Navigations-Planungsprogramm erklärt. Kommunikationsprobleme gab es nicht. Er spricht fließend englisch, portugiesisch, spanisch, italienisch, französisch und lernt gerade deutsch! Das Motorrad (BMW F750 GS) war in einem Top Zustand (vor der Reise noch beim BMW Service). Das Garmin Navi mit den abwechslungsreichen und gut zu fahrenden Routen durch die portugiesischen/nordspanischen Nationalparks funktionierte einwandfrei. Die vorgebuchten Hotels waren erstklassig (min. 4 Sterne) und immer in bester Lage! Die ganze Tour ist gut durchgeplant und sehr empfehlenswert. Der mitgebrachte Tankrucksack wurde ohne Aufpreis von einem Mitarbeiter auf die Leihmaschine montiert. Nach 5 Tagen und 1913 km haben wir die Maschine zurückgegeben. Das Motorrad war für diese Strecken die optimale Maschine. Zwei BMW Koffer (Vario System) und ein großes Givi Topcase waren ausreichend. Auch der Sozia wurde es aufgrund der landschaftlich sehr schönen Strecke nicht langweilig und der Sitzkomfort auf der BMW F 750 GS war hervorragend. Den von Northroad angebotenen Roadassistance haben wir glücklicherweise nicht benötigt. Vielen Dank für das wunderschöne Erlebnis und den Top Service, vor allem einen Dank an Tiago, der mit seiner freundlichen und lockeren Art zum Gelingen beigetragen hat. Wir kommen gerne wieder!

On est bien accueilli par une équipe sérieuse et sympathique. Les motos sont en parfait état et bien équipées pour un prix raisonnable. On peut louer léquipement aussi... Casque, blouson, gants, etc... Nous avons loué une moto pendant une journée pour visiter la vallée du Douro...on sest régalé sur ces routes très sinueuses au milieu de paysages magnifiques. Je recommande !

I rented a BMW F700GS for 18 days for my trip circumnavigating the Iberian Penninsula. Bike was great, initial pick up and the return could not have gone better. Manoel could not have done more or been more friendly. His English is very good. No problems in communicating. With friends retiring to Portugal an hour north I will be back.

Brilliant service!! Hired a BMW 1200GS and traveled all down the coast to Albufiera. The bike was fantastic, in great condition and ideal for what myself and pillion needed for our trip and came complete with detachable panniers. The guys at Northroad couldn t have been better. Spoke great English, easily contactable, polite and gave us loads of recommendations for our trip. Really recommend these guys and would definitely use again!

Nothing but good things to say about my experience with them. Nice choice of motorcycles for different budgets. No hidden fees. Helmets and storage paniers were included with the rental of the gs700. MotorBikes in very good condition. Very helpful with trip preparation. Pationate folks. They really thinking like fellow riders, not just as business people. Thank you very much!!
