Our guide Nuno was really nice and knowledgeable, we first stopped at a waterfall, then had a copious lunch with vinho verde (theyre very generous with the refills!) and ended with a visit of the old village and one last stop at a viewpoint for breathtaking scenery, everything was great! This is a small group tour which is even better, maximum 8 people and everyone on the tour was really nice and got along really well. Communication with the company prior to the tour was also good, I highly recommend.

We had a multi day tour with Oporto and lived both our guide Petito as well as the itinerary and everything around it.

Amazing day with Mariana guiding :) off roading was a blast, the waterfall was beautiful, lunch was delicious, and the walk through the village was inspiring. Mariana is hilarious and easy to get along with! Couldnt recommend this tour enough

NATURE, WATERFALLS & GIVING BACK Easily one of our favorite day trips & activities in Portugal! Thankful for Elena, our guide & friend, who made us braver, kept us safe and could tell us all about the national park and the local village. We also vibed so much with the music! Oporto Adventure Tours did an amazing job crafting the group, as we were with a group of 8 open-minded, fun and wonderful people (similar age range/life phases as well). (Viking 99!!) We also appreciate the fact that we were picked up at our hotel and dropped off afterwards. The waterfalls and nature of this park are stunning, and we would love to go come back again. Finally, Oporto Adventure Tours preserves Portugals cultural heritage and actively participates in the reforestation project of the national park. Obrigado & obrigada!

Our waterfall tour with Oporto was amazing! The trails to the Green Pool and Waterfall was just the right length and challenge for this office desk jockey. The walk through Fafião with lunch was a perfect way to break the day. Our tour guide Pedro, kept us all engaged and adjusted the day based on our abilities. my wife wife and I were fortunate to be part of great group. While we didnt exchange numbers, Ill always remember the day we spent with Rick, Rachelle, Nicole and Sara.

Had a wonderful experience on this excursion from start to finish. Our tour guide, Emanuel, was very professional, kind, knowledgeable and funny! Lunch was excellent.

We had a lovely tour with Inês, in Geres Park. Everything went as expected, the kayaking and swimming were very nice and peaceful. Really enjoyed the nature. The hiking was minimal and easy. Inês was very energetic and passionate, answered all our curiosities and gave us many infos and tips. She also picked us up from our location which was amazing.

Had a great trip up to peneda-geres national park. Kayak AM, walk and swim PM. Guide was great and the small group (5 Inc guide) format worked very well.

We had a fabulous time on our tour. The day was not rushed, the food was delicious. We thoroughly enjoyed kayaking and walking through the National Park, though admittedly I chickened out on swimming in the waterfall swimming hole. Pedro was very knowledgeable and maintain a steady stream of dialogue about Portugal. Highly recommend this tour.

Emanuel was a superb supportive guude who made sure everyone felt comfortable during the trip, especially while climbing down slippery rocks. The hike has the exact amount of adrenaline to keep the visitors excited, as long as they know how to swim and are medium-fit. The views were spectacular and it was made sure that everyones dietary requirements will be met. Last but not least, Emmanuels witty sense of humour made the whole trip pretty unforgettable experience. Special mention goes to my fellow visitors, who greatly contributed to the great vibe we had that day.

We loved our tour to Geres and Braga. The waterfall area was magical, and the food provided was delicious. Extremely good value. We loved our guide, Alejandro. He did a great job and was very flexible & accommodating.

He provided us with a truly comfortable and informative experience, guiding us through every intricate detail and historical significance of the entire tour. The tour was amazing, I can definitely recommend to everyone visiting Porto. Our guide, Sofia was picking up at our place in the time we agreed on. The car is not a luxury car but believe me, you will be happy it is how it is, in some places any other car would not be able to go through. The tour itself was great, if we were stuck a bit in some places Sofia always helped us to find a way. The places we visited were magical, hidden places which we would never be able to find alone. The dinner was at the right time, we brought some snacks but did not eat it. Definitely bring something to drink, especially during the summer! After dinner Sofia saw that we were a bit exhausted and not ready for another long trip, so she changed plans and chose a sport which we could reach faster and we had more time to swim in the river. She answered every question, she knows the park really well. We really had a great time, I will definitely recommend to every friend who are visiting Porto.

I did the national Geres parc with Alejandro! He was so nice, funny and we have a very good time hiking and swimming in the river pools. Its so beautiful, peaceful, and must be preserved as much as possible. Thanks for this moment!

Ricardo is a great guide. This is good day trip to get out and see the countryside of Portugal. Jumping into the pools of water from the rocks was my highlight. I also loved the Portuguese food that s included it was cool to see what the authentic cuisine is like. Would recommend this trip.

I had a two-times tour, Waterfall, with guide Ricardo and another with guide Ines! The first one I had by myself, and the second with my wife. The impressions were above the expectations! I strongly recommend them. The guides created a good atmosphere in the group; it was lots of fun, friendly, and good communication.

I recently experienced the Gerês Park Tour Adventure from Porto with my teenage son, and it was unforgettable! We had the most amazing day hiking Portugal s national forest, swimming and explore a small village. The organizers and guides were great with communication, super knowledgeable of the area and provided the experience as it was described. Our lunch was delicious and plentiful. The park was beautiful and such a nice way to get out of the city and enjoy nature along with our super kind and sweet host Elena who did such an amazing job!

We had an amazing day with Nuno! High recommend. The river we kayaked on was warm so when we went to swim in it, it was lovely. The waterfall swim is the highlight, very scenic and refreshing. The weather wasn t great but we still had a great time. The afternoon is filled with the sights of the park. The actual walking time isn t too long but some bits are intense so make sure to have grippy shoes and be confident in your ability.

Wow! I ve just got back from a day of kayaking, SUP and swimming in crystal clear water by a stunning waterfall! The Best day especially when it s so hot to be in and near water! Delicious food for lunch and the best part of the day was Ines our guide, nothing was too much trouble stopping for a bathroom break, excellent driving and answering all our questions I d go again if I was staying in Porto for longer !! thank you Ines

We had such an amazing trip yesterday kayaking, swimming and hiking, it exceeded our expectations completely. A wonderful organisation with a purpose of providing adventure and knowledge of the local areas around the national park.

From beginning to end, I really loved my experience with Oporto Adventure Tours. Our guide (Emanuel) is such a great person. Very kind, patient and good natured. He just goes with the flow and has a fun loving spirit whilst still maintaining his professionalism. I appreciated how he checked in every now and then with each of us and made sure everyone was safe and having a good time. He took our group to a couple of spectacular waterfalls where we swam and enjoyed getting to know one another. The lunch provided was delicious and there was something to delight most palettes and dietary restrictions. It was great value and really created some wonderful memories. The scenery alone is breathtaking. Highly recommend to anyone.

We had an amazing day out exploring the Douro Valley with Luis, Sofia and Martina for my friends hen do. I would recommend to any group if you want to have fun and explore nature. We went kayaking, paddle boarding, hiking and swimming beneath a waterfall. The traditional Portuguese lunch was delicious too. We had so much fun! This trip had it all: knowledgeable and engaged tour guides (thank you Rafael and Elena!), beautiful views, pristine waterfalls, and rugged Land Rovers. The hikes to the waterfalls were not too difficult...just enough to work up an appetite to enjoy a truly fantastic lunch in a lovely village. Our group loved our visit to Portugal, and this day was voted best of the trip.

We had a fantastic day with Di from Oporto Adventure tours. Di created a fun atmosphere for our two daughters. They loved the hikes as well as jumping in and swimming at the two waterfalls we visited. We weren t sure what to expect for this tour but everything was amazing. Every place we visited was beautiful, the hiking was exhilarating and the lunch was delicious. My wife and I toured with Antonio to the Peneda-Geres National park and we had a fantastic time. I had the most amazing tour with Oporto Adventure Tours. The day was filled with great company, amazing views, great local food and lovely adventure. Diogo, the tour guide was exceptional. He s great at his job, and made the day absolutely unforgettable.

This is a must! Not just because it s fun but it also gives you the opportunity to see a side of the national park that you would never get to on your own. The guides are professionals, canyoning is fun, the scenery is amazing and the lunch afterwards is awesome. Do it!

We had an amazing time. Hands down our favorite tour in Portugal. It had adventure, beautiful scenery, and even included a history lesson of the village and their struggle to remain autonomous. The kids loved swimming in the waterfalls, riding in a Land Rover and seeing different animals along the way. Our guide Pedro was knowledgeable and seemed to love the tour as much as we did. The lunch prepared in the village for us was delicious.

I had an amazing time on the adventurous tour I went on yesterday. Renate and Sofia, our guides, were absolutely lovely and made sure we had a fantastic experience from start to finish. The highlight for me was definitely visiting the stunning waterfall - it was incredibly beautiful. The traditional Portuguese lunch was delicious, especially the tender meat dishes, and the restaurant had an authentic atmosphere. The kayaking and swimming were great fun, and the off-road journey to the waterfall added an extra thrill with all the bumps along the way. Renate and Sofia shared interesting insights about the village we visited and made sure we got some great pictures. I would wholeheartedly recommend this tour to anyone looking for adventure and authentic Portuguese experiences!

Our group had a wonderful, unusually warm winter day dipping into the bracing pools, learning about the local culture, eating well, and contemplating Ivar the Land Rovers amusing quirks. Although the nature, community, and views are outstanding on their own, it really was Luiss leadership that made the day unforgettable. He has genuine enthusiasm and a seeming sense of responsibility for building real connections between people and nature. We never felt rushed or herded (as you can on these kind of tours), but we also covered a lot of ground and material. I only wish we could have had another day or two in the park!

The national park tour was the perfect combination of peaceful time in the nature, fun people to connect with, delicious local food and a bit of adrenaline while riding those off-roads in the mountains. I felt like I experienced the essence of Portugal in the small village while seeing the traditional houses, friendly local people, wild cows and ancient tools. The hiking was pretty easy even with my bad knees. My favourite part was the incredible mountain sights! <3

The trip to Peneda-Geres National Park was our best experience during our stay in Portugal. It was nice to learn about the traditions of this beautiful country. We got an amazing trip with wonderful people! The adventure was well organized and the company itself is really ready to answer all the possible questions you might have in advance. I was worried to go to the mountains to my first ever hike, but our guide Luis was very thoughtful and made sure everyone had enough time to follow The national park is a beautiful place on its own, but we also got a chance to see the life of local people who are still living there as many generations of their families did before and that is wonderful. Luis is the best guide we ever had!!! He was so attentive, patient and caring. He went out of his way to pick us up and drop us off since our hotel was in the Gaia side, and our bus didn t show up. We learned so much about the history and facts of the village, the national park and even random topics. The 4x4 Land Rover National Park tour is well worth it and best tour we ve done so far.

Forget about Geres - its Luis you should meet ;-) He absorbed all the perspectives from all the visitors from all over the place and you can discuss everything with him. As it would be just a side effect that he also tells you about birds and plants and Wolfes in Geres. It really touched me how he approaches the community in this hidden place. Its rare to find people that are mindful about and really love what they re doing.

Tiago was a lovely guide, it made our day super fun. Always taking care of us, taking pictures and telling us good stories and a lot of jokes. I highly recomendTiago and the 4x4 experience to every one!

My brother, sister and myself went on a lagoon and waterfall tour, hosted by Renate. We had an incredible time filled with the aforementioned lagoons and waterfalls, however the highlight was getting to see the local towns and learning a bit of their history. Renate is an accomplished guide with a wealth of knowledge and fantastic social skills. She provided a wealth of knowledge and her personal relationship to the towns and their inhabitants made this a highlight of our trip to Portugal. Thanks Renate!!

Had an absolutely wonderful time. It s nice having a small, sociable group to travel with. Our guide, Tiago, was a delight and made the whole experience very interesting. Peneda Gerês is astonishingly beautiful and a real must-see when visiting northern Portugal. The company also has a responsible relationship with the villages in the national park; benefiting them economically and socially in a way that was good to see.

Lovely relaxing day. We went on the KAYAKING IN PENEDA-GERÊS NATIONAL PARK tour. Small group as stated, met some great people. The location is very beautiful, a short kayak across a reservoir surrounded by green hills, chance to try an SUP as well. Restaurant very popular locally with very good food, and great short walks to waterfall and viewpoint from the park. Many thanks to guide Tiago for making our day so fun and relaxed (and safe). Also thanks to Caterina in the office for great pre and post trip communication.

We had a wonderful experience with Oporto Adventure Tours. It was a nice and mesmerizing whole day trip, where we visited some beautiful hidden Lagoons and had a bit of swimming experience because of the weather. The tour guide was super nice and had explained everything pretty well, some nice stories also along with the Land rover trip. We would definitely recommend you, if you want to plan a future trip with them.

A really great kayaking and hiking tour with three course lunch thrown in. Excellent guide. Would love to give this 5 stars but the trip was let down by the fact that we (2 adults) were crammed into the kids pop up seats (with all the bags) in order to fit 7 people into the land rover

Amazing tour with our guide/friend Diogo on June 4, 2023. You learn a lot about the history of the area. Its a must do if you visit Porto. Everything was great, including the weather, fortunately. The village and its people were friendly and welcoming. Very good food included for lunch. Recommended 10/10.

We had the most amazing adventure with Luis in the National Park. He is very knowledgeable and kind. We swam in the pools underneath waterfalls in refreshing water. Our favorite part of the tour was eating lunch and walking around a small village and speaking with the locals. It was a truly wonderful experience! I would absolutely recommend this day trip.

If you get a chance to book Pedro for the Geres National Park tour, just do it. Amazing guide & even more amazing scenery. Swimming in stunning waterfalls, worthy hikes, a little off-road action, and brilliant historical & cultural explanations of the areas (and peoples hosting you on their traditional lands). This company pretty much does one thing and does it right from start to finish... comms, updates, genuineness, sense of humor & very good value for money ... really cant say enough good things about the experience. If I have one piece of constructive feedback it would be to perhaps strive to improve the ride comfort as you continue to evolve the business. Bit of a long drive (especially coming back - 2 hrs) in the tail end of a Land Rover . Thanks again Pedro

Really fun , varied and worthwhile tour . So much fitted in . Saw so much of the park and got a lot more adventurous with the rock scrambling in the river than we expected ( fun ) . Our guide tiago was friendly, informative, fun and tailored the tour to us as a group ( even had some karaoke in the jeep on the way back). Would highly recommend.

I had the most incredible trip to Gerês yesterday with a very knowledgeable and attentive guide - Diogo. He was passionate and enthusiastic about the tour and full of energy. He took us to some beautiful hiking spots with scenic rock pools. I would highly recommend this tour for anyone wanting to visit nature.

We just got back from our 10 Day Portugal trip and we spent our last day with Diogo in the Peneda-geres National park. We did 2 hikes to waterfalls/rivers and a little swim lagoon. We had an amazing lunch and saw amazing views. This was a wonderful adventure for our group. We had ages 16 to 72 and found Diogo worked well with the variety of fitness levels we had. Would highly recommend this company. Great to work with.

Our tour with Nuno was truly exceptional. He was extremely kind, patient, and knowledgeable. He made the hikes accessible and exciting for everyone in our group and the swimming spots he took us to were magical. Riding through the mountains in the Land Rover was also a huge plus and really fun. I can t recommend this tour enough if you re in Porto!

I dont often leave reviews of tours, but I was really blown away by Oporto Adventure Tours and our guide, Luis. Kayaking and hiking were great, but it was really Luiss personality and genuine love for the area that made a difference. I also think experiences are all about the attitude and energy that you bring to them, so if you show up for this tour enthusiastic and ready to engage and have fun, youll have a great time. Swimming in the waterfall was a highlight of my trip! Oh and be advised you are riding in an old 4x4 over bumpy roads and some seats face sideways. Im usually not great with car sickness but I felt ok the whole time and thought it was super fun. However if you have a very sensitive stomach or inner ear, beware!

1ère expérience canyoning réussie ! Lorganisation était claire, simple et bien encadrée (que ce soit par mail en amont et le jour J). Le parcours suivi est accessible à tous avec quelques instants démotions fortes et tout cela, dans un décor superbe et préservé. Notre guide Marta, a été très pédagogue, agréable et patiente. A lissue de lactivité, nous avons été dans un café à proximité qui est vraiment très abordable (4,50 le hamburger et 1,30 le Coca par exemple) et bon. Nous avions opté pour le fait dêtre amenés et ramenés à notre logement à Porto par la société mais vous pouvez vous y rendre par vos propres moyens. Bref, nous recommandons :)

The tour of the National Park we did with Oporto Adventure Tours and Ines (our guide) was fantastic. A brilliant option to get out of the city for the day, and Ines was so informative about the area, the culture and specifically about the National Park - we learnt so much. Swimming in the waterfalls, traditional lunch, learning how the locals had to deal with wolves in years gone by.... a fascinating day. I would highly recommend!

Luis is knowledgeable and an empathetic guide. The tour exceeded my expectations, which were already very high as a friend had told me it was wonderful. Not only did we visit two pristine waterfalls with beautiful fresh water for swimming, eat a delicious and generous lunch, visit a village and learn about pressing olives and a bit of village life, but Luis helped change a group of strangers into a group of friends. He made everyone feel welcome and took care that everyone had a wonderful time. If you only do one thing in Porto, let it be this tour!

I had the pleasure of joining Oporto adventures on the PENEDA-GERÊS NATIONAL PARK TOUR, and despite the challenging weather conditions, it was a fantastic experience. Our guide, Miguel was exceptional, making sure we had a great time despite the rain. The highlight of the trip was the incredible scenery we encountered along the way. Plus, the home-cooked food provided was simply amazing. Although highly recommended wearing proper hiking boots as it s quite slippy (especially when it s been raining!) and it s can be quite steep, I d say it was moderate so not for the faint hearted

We could never have done this without our amazing guide. We hiked to a swimming spot on a beautiful mountain river with a waterfall. The history lessons and visiting the town and ancient 1500s site was an unexpected bonus.

Disgraceful. Booked an adventure tour 4 months ago for my family to celebrate my wifes birthday on our first trip to Porto . 2 months later the Company rescheduled the date so we changed our holiday plans to fit in. Up at 6.00am today with some very excited children to get a call, less than 1 hour before we are due to be picked up that the day is cancelled. Extremely poor service. I would never use this Company again.

Had a great time with Ricardo! He was very knowledgeable of the region and made the drive & hike enjoyable. Learned a lot about the local flora and community. He was like a best friend going on a walk with you for the afternoon showing his home town. The restaurant afterwards was a great way to end the day with a fantastic meal at a LOCAL restarting with plenty of wine! Highly recommend booking if you want to get outside of the city for an afternoon for fresh air and perfect views

Our Peneda- Geres National Park Tour was amazing because of Luís. He is very knowledgeable and anticipated our every need. The weather wasn t great but we had a wonderful time because of Luis. We took the Peneda-Gerês Park Tour with Lunch and had Luis as our guide. What an amazing day. The hiking was only a small portion of all we saw and did. Visiting the town of Fafião was an amazing experience. A UNESCO farm site, it was amazing to learn about their current farming and the heritage of the community. As a conservationist/environmentalist minded person, it was wonderful to see these practices working in this community. Our lunch was wonderful and the authentic Portuguese dishes were just another bonus this trip offers. Luis authentic enthusiasm was refreshing & energizing. The way Oporto cares for the park and Fafião is very apparent and we were glad we chose them as our guides. Beautiful scenery, history, ecology, education, wine & food...we enjoyed it all!

Luis took three of us on a wonderful trip in the National Park. He is very well informed. He introduced us to the local culture, the biodiversity in the region, the plants, the animals, how the culture changed in response to the environment and knowledge (e.g. the local attitude toward wolves). We visited two waterfalls, hiked some trails, visited old olive press facility, water tanks, storage rooms, and of course plenty opportunities to take photos. Luis knows everyone in the village, even knows all the dogs by their names and their characteristic behavior. The lunch was a banquet, with local cheese samples, sausages, cucumber salad, grilled chicken breasts, fish cakes, meat balls, etc., completed with soup, bread and green wine. Best meal we had in Portugal!

This was one of the best tours Ive done! My friends and I planned this as a way to get into nature on our trip to Portugal and it did not disappoint. The places we went, the things we saw, and the people we met were all wonderful. The food was fabulous too! I think it would have been a great trip with any tour guide but with Luis, it was on another level. He was so kind and considerate of every member in the group. He took time to get to know each and every person and made everyone feel welcome. Hes charming, knows the answer to every question asked, and hes quite funny too. I would highly recommend a day with Luis!

This trip was a great opportunity to visit a magical place outside the city. Marcelo was the absolute best guide that Ive had during my 2 months in Portugal. I highly recommend this company and tour.

Our tour to the national park with Oporto Adventure tours was definitely the highlight of our trip to Porto. Although the website appeared to be booked for the date we wanted to take our tour, we dropped them an email and they replied promptly with available space for us. Our guide, Marcelo, was very friendly and accommodating. He knew interesting facts about the places we visited and was also familiar with the locals. Our tour had lunch included, and we were impressed with the food we ate at a local restaurant in a remote village. We had the chance to hike and see two waterfalls. Marcelo advised us on the best place for a swim. Highly recommended, and good value for money!

We had the best day!! Our guide (Luis) was absolutely amazing and so knowledgable. Saw and swam in secluded and untouched waterfalls, were fed delicious food and met amazing people along the way. Couldn t recommend Oporto highly enough! Also so great to see and hear about the efforts being made to preserve the nature, local environment and culture. Kind people doing good things.

My husband and I had a wonderful day with 2 guides Luis, Diogo and 3 other fellow travellers from around the world! Luis and Diogo shared with us lots of stories, both facts and fiction about the national park, while entertaining us with their cheesy but infectious jokes :) Their respect for nature and communities living inside the national park is inspiring. I would recommend the tour to everyone! P/S: Photos will be taken by the guides, but to be honest the waterproof camera does not give the best quality (see my photo attached), so make sure to take extra photos on your own if you want to do the beauty of the place justice :)

We had a wonderful time on this trip! Diogo was so accommodating and a great guide. You could really see his pride for his country and the land we explored throughout the day. This is a different Portugal than visiting the cities but a great one and should not be missed. PS the water is COLD!!!

This tour was more than we had imagined it to be, there was not one thing we did not like! Miguel was fantastic, so informative but in a relaxed way! He made the day so much fun, we all agreed that the tour guide can definitely make or break the day and we were all so happy to have had him as our guide!! I did the Off road, hiking & exploring Gerês park tour and had a wonderful day with Pedro as the host. Our group was small, just 6 of us, but it was really nice getting to meet some new faces. Without renting a car while staying in Porto, I would have never seen this park or the charming village without doing this tour. So glad I did as some of the roads inside the park I would not have wanted to navigate on my own. The park was serene and beautiful. The tour of the village was very interesting and the people welcoming. The lunch was delicious! Pedro kept things moving along while he gave us a lot of background and history of each place we toured. Theres not a ton of hiking, but your heart rate will get up there a couple of times with the climbing.

Such a fun day! Our tour guide (Miguel) did an awesome job and was up for all the adventures. Lunch was fantastic and authentic to the area/region. Miguel was great at providing historical facts and we always felt safe in his care. Our overall group got along very well with each other and that also made for quite a pleasant day. 10/10 would recommend this tour if you love nature and hiking.

We had a fantastic day out with Ricardo! We started off with a small hike and swimming, then we went up a viewpoint, had lunch and walked around a medieval village. We finished off with one more lagoon. Lunch was great, they were happy to accommodate my dietary requirements (Gluten Free Vegan) and we left the restaurant stuffed! The whole trip was just perfect. Also Ricardo adjusted the trip for us on the day to account for little rain (it was only raining during our lunch - so lucky!) It wasnt difficult as far as hikes go and Ricardo made the trip very interactive and fun. I would definitely do it again :D

To be honest, my flight changed and we had an extra day in Porto and wanted to book something adventurous. I had not heard of Geres National Park and now I would make sure any friends/family traveling to Porto would make time to go. Geres is incredibly beautiful and the lagoons were fabulous. The water so extremely clear and despite the cold water, it was great to jump in. Our local lunch was lovely and the other travelers on the trip became good friends. However, what really made this excursion so special was our guide, Marcelo! He was so kind, funny, knowledgeable, and fun! Cant wait to go back!

Emanuel was our guide for the day and took us on a beautiful tour of Geres national park, the waterfalls for beautiful, food was lovely and his knowledge of the local town, the birds and biology of the area were fantastic.

We also had much fun with our guide Miguel, who not only took good care of us but also contributed to a good team dynamic and showed us around as he would be part of the community. We had the most amazing day with Luis as our guide on Geres national park tour. We were a group of 8 people which included 4 adults, a 17 year old, 14 year old, 4 year old and 1 year old. Because of the range of ages and number of people in our group we had a private tour. Luis was brilliant in planning our day to suit our group. We loved the 4x4 (Gloria) and the kids thought it was the absolute best car ride theyd ever been on. We walked down to an amazing waterfall. Luis kindly sat with the kids on the rocks looking for wildlife in the ponds while we had a swim. We then went to a viewpoint to look out over the valley followed by a lovely lunch made by locals. After a walk in the little village and planting a tree we made a final stop at another waterfall where Luis showed us a spot where the little kids could splash about and the older ones could rock jump and swim. It was an amazing day, thoroughly enjoyed by all. Luis had great stories, read the group so well and guided us through the best day we had in Portugal. The 2 smallest in the group loved him, treating him like the fun uncle throughout the day! I highly recommend this company - the communication and organisation of the tour was fantastic. Vehicle was great, tour guide was one of the best weve had on any tour and the location amazing.

Great day trip from Porto. Marcelo was awesome and kept the group engaged - it was nice to get to know each other. Marcelo taught us quite a lot of how the old villages in Fafião operate too which was really interesting. Amazing views/lochs/waterfalls in this area of the national park. Definitely recommend booking through this tour company - they take sustainability into account and help to preserve nature and the culture in Fafião.

I took the 4x4 trip to Peneda-Geres national park. The tour was amazing , the views, lagoons and waterfalls were wonderful. El servicio muy bueno y amable, el parque natural merece mucho la pena y las actividades están muy bien para su precio. La comida podría haber sido mejorable ya que el primer plato es una sopa que no apetece mucho por el calor y el vino no es de buena calidad, aunque el resto de platos están bastante bien y te quedas satisfecho. Por último el punto más débil del tour es la calidad de las fotos, ya que es muy regular. Una vez más, recalcaría el trato excelente recibido por los guías, muchas gracias!!

Such a fun adventure! Diogo was a fantastic guide and so helpful with helping our daughter on the hike. She has special needs and would never have made it without my husband and Diogo walking her through the entire trail. Water activities and driving through the old villages was great and the hike/waterfall at the end was the highlight! Absolutely recommend. Canyoning activity for a group of 13 friends and we had the most amazing day! We had an amazing day in the National Park. Our two guides shared a lot of knowledge with us about the park which was super interesting. Especially the secret waterfall was absolutely stunning and we were almost the only people there. Lunch and the views from the top of the mountain were amazing. However, there is a couple of points that result in this review. First, the kayaking was rather short. We expected it to be way longer than just going around in the reservoir and coming back the same way. It was less adventurous than we thought. The worst part was the passenger Van which we were transported it. It had no air conditioning in the back and we could not open any windows. Since the drive to the park was over one and a half hours and we also drove during the day, the temperature in the car was just unbearable. It was 39 Grad Celsius outside and probably not much less inside the car. We were also very disappointed in the pictures. We expected them to turn out great, but the camera our guide used was very poor quality and now we only have very blurry pictures of the day. Overall it was a great day though!

Los pozos para bañarse parecen sacados de una historia del paraíso así como las cascadas . La interacción con nuestro guía Luis fue muy educativa r amigable . La comida fue abundante y muy buena en especial el vino verde frío de la zona es exquisito y puede comprar una botella directo en el restaurante para llevarse esa magia sl paladar a casa. El tour es una inversión para una experiencia familiar inolvidable.

We booked the canyoning tour for the family and absolutely loved it. The company had top quality gear, picked us up in Porto, and provided a wonderful guide. The nature was truly beautiful and let us see some of the natural beauty of Portugal outside of the cities. The canyoning was just hard enough to be fun but not so simple that it was boring. We felt like we really had an adventure and my kids were smiling and laughing the whole time. We would definitely do this again.

Ines was amazing! This was definitely the highlight of our trip. We went with our two young kids and we couldnt ask for anything better! The lagoons were refreshing, the hike was not very hard. The destination is amazing and Ines made it unforgettable. This was our favorite day in Portugal! HIGHLY RECOMMEND!!!

At first we thought ok this is just another typical tourist trap, where our guide would just be regurgitating the same old information he would do with other tours, but instead he really adapted the tour to the group needs and enjoyment. The quality and quantity of the lunch we had was more than acceptable: we tried many different dishes and we could eat and drink as much as we wanted. We got to see a good few spots in the park and stayed longer than planned. Really well worth the experience if you dont have a car.

His energy helped the group to bond and relax with each other so well which made the experience so enjoyable. His knowledge of the national park and its surroundings was so detailed and we felt like we got a great insight into life in the area. Each activity was timed perfectly, so we had enough energy to tackle the next! The kayaking was really good fun with a refreshing swim, lunch was delicious (thanks for the green wine!), the Waterfall was the perfect thing to refresh us after lunch and we loved hearing about the traditions and history of the people in Wolf Village. This has been undoubtedly the highlight of our trip to Porto, our thanks to Luis and Ivor!

We got picked up in our accommodation in PortoWe hiked in the park and bathed in beautiful natural swimming pools. We ate in a wonderful traditional restaurant in Fifiaõ. The views were so beautiful. I totally recommend, it was great. Please do not hesitate. Please be aware, the hiking is not light. Rather medium level. I would not recommend if you have any pains or if you are not in good shape. Brings loads of cold water !

We spent the day exploring the breath-taking Geres National Park with our guide, Emmanuel. It was a day filled with adventure and fun! Emmanuel made the experience by taking us to remote places and adjusting the tour for our group (we were quite adventurous)! He was funny, very knowledgeable, and kind - we felt safe with under his guidance all day. This was one of the best tours we have ever done and would definitely recommend!

Well, what a fun day! Ines took us out for the day to Geres National Park. My wife and I had never kayaked before, but we both enjoyed ourselves! A swim in the national park, along with an opportunity to paddleboard was great! Lunch included was fantastic, perfect for this type of trip, make sure to try the wine, its fantastic! We did some hiking down to a waterfall and swimming hole afterwards, fantastic, this was definitely the highlight of the day! Even though it had a rained a bit Ines showed us the safe way down and man was it worth it! Communication from Caterina at Oporto Tours was the best Ive ever had from any company. Thank you Caterina! I hope you get the chance to do this your if you stop into Porto, the genuine friendliness of Portugal comes out with the people operating this company! Thanks for a great memory from our trip to Portugal!

September 2022 - Peneda-Geres Park 4X4 tour with lunch. This tour was advertised on Get Your Guide site as an easy to moderate hike in trails in the park appropriate for anyone between the ages of 2 to 75. This was anything but easy. These are rocky steep trails, and one member of our group spent most of the day in the village café after attempting the first trail. The lunch was good, but there were so many flies all over the food, you need to eat quickly. The water was so cold, I could only stand putting my feet in the water. Only two people from our group actually swam in the water. The site does not advertised accurately what you are paying for. The guide was very nice and the negative posting has nothing to do with any of her actions.

We picked the lagoons and waterfalls tour, and highly recommend a day trip to Peneda-Geres with Oporto Adventures. Everything was well-organised, from being picked up at our hotel, to having local specialties for lunch and being guided through the region. Our tour guide Emanuel was wonderful, he was friendly and very knowledgeable about the local area. The small group size (8 people) was also very good for socialising without the tour feeling too crowded. It was definitely a highlight of our trip.

Et un guide, AFONSO juste parfait, adorable, aux petits soins pour nous. Faute de musique dans la voiture (radio en panne) il a meme eu droit à un karaoke improvisé de notre part. We had a wonderful day with extremely great, funny and dedicated guides! Many thanks to Emanuel and Renate for this beautiful day in the National Park! This tour was the highlight of our stay in Porto! The programme included two short hikes to beautiful waterfalls, a tour through the local village and an authentic lunch. During the whole tour we were always explained interesting things by our knowledgeable and passionate guides. What is also important to mention is that the guides responded to our individual needs and planned the day together with us. Overall we had a great time in a stunning region with amazing views and excellent guides!

I had such a good time going on the tour to the national park with the group and our guide Luis who has great energy. The hikes in the park and the swims in the lagoons were awesome. The lunch was served at a local restaurant and everything tasted so delicious. I loved every bit of the tour and would highly recommend.

Si te gusta Portugal y te gusta la naturaleza, este paseo no te lo puedes perder! Estuvimos en lugares preciosos y nuestra guía Renata transmitió un gran amor y respeto por los lugares que conocimos. Algo de mucho valor es que Renata hizo su máster en esta reserva, concretamente en el pueblo en el que comimos Fafião, entonces ella tiene mucho conocimiento y amor por el lugar, lo cual sin duda transmitió y así que no quedó todo en un simple tour. Yo más bien lo llamaría una introducción a Gerês, porque sin duda te deja con ganas de ir a conocerlo a fondo. Otra cosa destacable fue que comimos en un sitio local y todo estuvo muy lindo, además que este paseo tiene causa social, ya que no sólo se sirve del lugar sino que devuelve parte de las ganancias. Precioso paseo muchas gracias Renata!

The tour with Oporto Adventure Tours was great! National Park of Gerês is a truly magical place and to discover its hidden spots with our guide Alex was so much fun! Every detail of the tour was thought through and though it was sometimes quite challenging to get through the rocks on our way to the lagoons, we always felt safe! We met some very nice local people and had an amazing lunch in a small restaurant overlooking the mountains. If you re looking for an adventurous hike in a beautiful landscape accompanied by a knowledgable and attentive guide, I highly recommend to book this tour!

Our first time in Porto and we were wanting a break from the city. Luis was extremely knowledgeable and helpful. The swimming, kayaking , small village and history were absolutely phenomenal. We had a wonderful group which made the trip more fun as well. Id highly recommend this trip to get out of the hustle and bustle of the city and learn about the small villages outside of Porto.

Das ist pures Abenteuer! Bei Oporto Adventure Tours bekommt man genau das was man sich unter Outdoor Aktivitäten vorstellt. Allein die Fahrt mit dem Jeep zu den jeweiligen Badespots hat es in sich und das Team ist wirklich sehr sympathisch. Hinzu kommt, dass man im Dorf Fafiao, in der Nähe des Nationalparks, leckere lokale Snacks zum probieren bekommt und auch erstmal entspannen kann bevor es dann weiter zum Highlight, den Badespots geht. Hier kann man sich kaum satt sehen an dem kristallklaren Seen und Wasserfällen, es ist fast so, als wäre man in einer Oase gelandet. Hier kommt jeder Outdoor Liebhaber auf seine Kosten!

Samen met onze kinderen (17 jaar) en 2 andere deelnemers hebben we een zéér leuke dag gehad met gids Luis. Het klimmen en klauteren over de rotsen werd beloond met zwemmen in de lagunes. Tussendoor kregen we van Luis veel informatie over de natuur en het leven van de lokale inwoners. Dat vonden wij erg interessant. Goed verzorgde lunch in een lokaal restaurant en de hele dag leuke gesprekken gehad met Luis en onze overige reisgenoten. Je komt op plekken die je zelfstandig niet zou vinden, dus deze tour is zeker een aanrader!

On a passé une excellente journée au coeur du Parc National du Gêres avec notre guide Mario. Il a su partagé sa passion de la nature et être aux petits soins pour notre excursion privée. Nous étions 6 avec notre garçon de 15 ans et nos ainés de 60 à 70 ans et tout sest parfaitement déroulé. On a particulièrement apprécié les plongeons dans une retenue naturelle dans une rivière du parc... Merci Mario !

A truly great experience to get to know Gerês National Park. Our guide Luis knows nature, the park and the village very well. 100% recommended!

The all-day tour to Geres National Park was memorable, relaxing and lots of fun with swimming, light trekking, off-roading and lunch. Highly recommended if you want to avoid crowds and tourist hotspots. Geres National Park is worth a visit but requires a tour guide as it is a large area. The day started with a hotel pick-up at 8.30 AM and a one hour drive on a 4 x 4 Land Rover. Throughout the day we off-roaded and climbed to two spots along the river. The river bed is characterised by rounded rocks and boulders which create small kettle ponds to swim in. Luiz the tour guide was passionate, friendly and knowledgeable - balancing safety with fun all along. He found a way to establish connections between all the people in the group, which made the tour a shared experience. His drive time music selection is to be commended and turned into a playlist on Spotify! More importantly, Oporto Aventure contributes funds to the local associations that help to preserve nature and the locals living in the area. The cost of the tour was GBP 82. Highly recommended if you are looking for a tour company that supports sustainability and offers a great experience.

We (my girlfriend and I) did a canyoning tour with Aurélio in August 2021, and we had a wonderful day! It was a great break from our week in Porto, and we enjoyed the activity, the views, and some interesting information from our guide. We were picked up at our apartment in Porto by Aurélio (included in the price!) and brought back there after a very nice lunch (not included but affordable and very much recommended by me). If you are looking for an adventurous activity near Porto, this is a must!

We had a fantastic day out with Oporto Adventure Tours in the Gerês national park. The guide, Alfonso, was deeply connected with the area and had a tremendous amount of local knowledge, including some of the lesser known but most spectacular places in the park. We particularly enjoyed the wild swimming and learning about the village of Fafião. We would not hesitate to recommend this tour.

The best day tour in Porto A really enjoyable day. We started early in the morning and we arrived at the Fafião village around 10 am. We left the 4x4 and after we hiked a little, we arrived at the first spot: the waterfalls. What a place ?! It was a big waterfall with crystal clear water that ended up to a small lake. The purity of the landscape was so tempting. Fortunately, I had my swim shorts, so I got in the lake. The water is so cold this time of the year but at the same time its so refreshing. After that, we hiked back to the 4X4 and went to a viewpoint where one can have a majestic 360° view of the place. Then, we went to the only restaurant of the village and had a hearty meal of traditional Portuguese food. At that point, we had the change to get to know each other and recharge our batteries. Afterwards, we headed to a different waterfall, and then we explored the Fojos do lobo (an old wolf trap). The day ended by returning to the village where a fundraising auction was taking place. We had the chance to interact with local people who seemed really warm-hearted and treated us with some local wine. Last but not least, this day wouldnt have been so great if we hadnt Luiz (our guide). For the whole trip he was trying to make everybody feel comfortable. He told us a lot about the flora and fauna of Gerês and the way of living in Fafião village. Everyone in the village knew him and that means that these kind of tours really benefit local people. You should try it !!! P.S. trekking boots would be really helpful

Last week I went to the Geres national park with this agency and it was one of the best experiences I have had in my life! We have seen the most amazing places hidden in the park, tasted local organic food and had so much fun! :D Definitely recommend!

A rainy day in May my boyfriend and me had a day long tour with a super cool and laidback guide called Luis. Since Covid19 still affected the country the company had taken certain safetymeasures. We wore masks sitting in the car, and we were only 4 people, and outside we kept the safety distance. We felt really safe and well taken care of. Even though it was raining, we had a awesome time with good food, kayak, swimming, hiking and offroad jeep ride. We also learned about Portuguese food and history. I really recommend exploring Geres with these guys. They have a lot of experience, and know special places in the park. We have visited Geres national park, which is definitely one of the mustdo tours if you are vacationing in Porto. The trip was well-organised while Luis also nicely adapted to our relaxed mood. We had a great time kayaking and swimming in the best hidden spots of the park. The lunch was delicious, too. Thank you so much Luis for this experience!:D PS. I guess it is also important to mention to the guide your expectations about the tour. We wanted to swim mainly, thats why the hikes were really short. If you are more into long hikes, the tour can be easily adjusted.

What a wonderful day in the Geres National Park - Autumn is magical time even 2020 - at least in Northern Portugal. I Arrived in Porto at night and my friend suggested to go kayaking & trekking the next morning, the best idea! Easy pick up in the city and on the road on our way. Morning haze was lifting up while we headed towards the park, revealing the beautiful countryside of Portugal to a new sunny day. All tiredness of travel washed away in the pristine waters of river beauty and scented air of eucalyptus and pine. Kayaking was so good and to my surprise it was still comfy to swim - bit cool at first and then it was very nice indeed. I even got to try paddle board - and I could not believe how easy that was! Lovely villages,waterfalls, trees, scrubs, even flowers everywhere. Such a bliss to all senses and so grounding and invigorating after so many months of restrictions. Fresh air and historical villages, small group in land rover, which literally drives through every possible road and track. Guide, Luis took such a great care of us all and we five travelers had many interesting discussions with each other and of course with him. Relaxed and unforgettable experience. This will stay in my best memories.

Though a little past due (told you I would post, Miguel ;) ), I had the pleasure of going Canyoning last September with Miguel and the crew- it was amazing. They were very professional, passionate, and so much fun! I actually had gone canyoning the day before with another company, and I am SO thankful I decided to tough it out and go again with Oporto Tours! The experience was incomparable. The views were incredible, the jumps were a blast, not to forget the car ride and fun spot for lunch afterwards were all quite an adventure! I could not recommend this enough if youre at all interested in hiking, adventure, waterfalls, cliff jumping, jokes :) , and meeting lovely people along the way.

Breathtaking views all around and absolute wonder for Mother Nature. It s an awe inspiring experience. Luis was our guide and is a true gentleman in every sense of the word. He was courteous, funny, informative, and most of all responsible. You can tell he enjoys what he does and takes pride in making sure you get the most out of your adventure. The lunch is a real full blown sit down Portuguese meal and absolutely fantastic. Lastly, he was great with my kids and kept them engaged answering all their questions, no matter how silly. Thank you Luis!

Great tour!! Isabel was THE BEST tour guide. Id recommend asking for her! The whole experience was great including the outdoors experience but also getting to know the culture of the people who live near the national park. The lunch was the best food we had in Portugal! Thank to Oporto adventures tours for the great experience!

Super journée dans le parc de Geres !!!! Grace à Mario, nous avons découvert des trésors naturels que lui seul peut faire découvrir. Mario a été au top avec les enfants, sécurisant tout le trajet depuis le stationnement du 4x4 jusquà la rivière. Il nous a tout expliqué sur le parc, sur les essences darbres et les animaux qui y vivent. La visite du village est également super !!!! Et le déjeuner parfait !!! Merci Mario pour cette journée dont nous nous souviendrons longtemps !!!!

Great experience! The kayak tour in Gerês National Park was absolutely amazing thanks to our guide Luis. The day included a delicious lunch and many exciting activities (even a chance to cliff jump). Would definitely reccomend!

Geweldige dag met een super enthousiaste gids, met onze vriendengroep als vijftigers een mooie dag genoten van de natuur, hiken. s ochtends werden we voor de deur opgehaald en rond 19.00 terug, genoten van de lunch die ook prima was. Echte aanrader!

Fantastic 1 day tour to Gerês National Park.

Excellent tour with amazing guides and a great group of like-minded people. Peneda-Geres NP is a beautiful part of Portugal, just a couple of hours from Porto and well worth the trip!

For beginners stand up paddle boarding, these guys are excellent. They picked us up from home, took us to a beautiful countryside location with a serene river, and taught us how to paddle. We had paddling in the silence, and river swimming too. Then Nuno brought is straight back to our door. All in all, perfect. Highly recommended.

Good company, a great trip, nice people! good organization! did an activity with a group, everything was no problem, it was arranged great, and even an extra activity last minute when we asked for it!!

The day trip with the Oporto Adventures team was the highlight of our stay in Porto. You get to spend some time in nature, hike and enjoy amazing waterfalls and swimming in lagoons. Everything is also organised with a huge respect to the community in Geres and some funds from the purchased tickets go to special projects that are supposed to help preserving this beautiful place. Special thanks to Rui, who is such a natural as a guide. He tried to chat at least a bit with all of us (8 participants), explained the most important things about Geres and its community and made us feel comfortable. Obrigada Rui!
