A real nice camper van we had real great trip!

On me loue un van qui fait un bruit à chaque changement de vitesse, je fais demi-tour au bout de 3km pour leur ramener le véhicule. Il tombe en panne. On me prélève la caution mais également 2x 2000 euros sans me prévenir. Soit 6000 pour 4 km. Je nai jamais signé ni eu le rapport des dommages... La facture sélèverait a plus de 12000 . Bref une entreprise a fuir.

Das Fahrzeug war bei der Abholung noch sehr dreckig und viele Gegenstände der Inneneinrichtung kaputt. Die Fensterrollos konnte man nicht mehr runter machen und eine Gasflamme funktionierte nicht. Auch der On Site Hilfsdienst war über die Weihnachtsfeiertag nicht zu erreichen. Als Entschädigung wollte die Vermietung mir die Kosten für eine Gasflasche erstatten, was leider nie passiert ist und sich der Vermieter letztendlich doch rausgeredet hat. Die Bettdecke war zu dünn für den Winter und die Kopfkissen sehr schmutzig und durchgelegen. Kann dies absolut nicht weiterempfehlen.

Em hipotese alguma alugue com essa empresa. A van por si só já é horrivel e mal preparada. Já tem 2 meses que devolvemos a van e eles estão tentando fazer cobranças indevidas no meu cartão de crédito. Mesmo tendo tudo pago e documentado por email.

A nossa experiência está sendo TERRÍVEL. Alugamos a van para viajar pelos mercados de Natal Europa, alugamos em Lisboa. Na ida ainda, em Franca, o veículo apresentou defeitos na luz do motor. Fomos atendidos 100% em inglês, mesmo tendo alugado em um país onde a língua, é portuguesa. Nos direcionaram ao suporte de França onde fomos auxiliados. O veículo até esta altura, havia perdido força. Na volta, o veículo começou a apresentar falhas às 17:30 do dia 30, e parou de fato, dia 31/12, às 05 horas da manhã O único contato é WhatsApp que não nos atende, o seguro total que pagamos, não aceita o contacto afirmando que só devem ser contactados pela indiecampers, estamos abandonados no meio da estrada na França sem suporte algum. A oficina parceira em França, só aceita ajudar se o contato vir pela indiecamp Portugal. Estamos abandonados! Já fazem duas horas sem nenhuma resposta da empresa para a nossa situação. Descaso total! Perdemos tempo de viagem, gastamos combustível e estamos no frio no meio da estrada, sem saber o que fazer. ATUALIZAÇÕES: já são 12:25. Às 11:30, a empresa conseguiu um reboque para buscar a van e deixar num pátio. Foi cobrado uma taxa de 183 do reboque até o pátio (9km de distância do local onde a vã parou de funcionar, até o pátio do reboque). Nós nos recusamos a pagar a taxa e estamos aguardando o segundo reboque chegar para pagar o montante e nos dizer qual será nosso destino. Até o presente momento, não há previsão quando chegará o outro reboque. Deixarei uma reclamação a cada hora que tiver que aguardar. Já somam-se 7h e 30min desde que o veículo parou de funcionar completamente. Feita a substituição do veículo às 16:30 com pagamento de um novo caução de 500 , pois tínhamos contrato o seguro Premium, caso fosse o básico o caução seria de 2.500 . Em resumo, o atendimento na recolha e entrega das viaturas, não há reclamações, apenas a nescessidade de acionar a assistência é que deixou 100% de insatisfação, e tem o atendimento todo em inglês mesmo sendo um contrato feito em português, o telefone indicado de Portugal também é feito em inglês. Por esse motivo da deficiência na assistência não recomendo esta empresa.

Heres a fantastic way to win back a customer whos already had a terrible experience: 1. Supply them a faulty vehicle for a week 2. Barely offer a refund, and a future credit they dont want to use 3. Charge their credit card 20 euros for a 5 euro toll fee, 15 MONTHS LATER 4. Customer cancels their credit card because of a suspicious transaction from WCC PORTUGAL, PENICHE, DUB 5. Customer eventually finds a suspicious email in their spam folder related to toll fees, and now has to wait two weeks for a new credit card to show up Do not trust this company. Their marketing is great but their product and service is terrible. We were unable to contact a single person the entire time we had our vehicle and we had several issues.

We had a really nice first time experience booking with Indie Campers! We choose the ducato L2 H2 and were in nice comfort overall. The customer service at the pick-up // drop-off was awesome, Mafalda made easy and clear explanations of all functionalities plus was cheering about our experience at the check-out. If you want to rent a van for a road trip this is the place to do!!

We hired a Atlas camper which was a pleasure to drive with for our journey in Portugal. Great explanation, friendly service, customer service also good. We were provided with basic cooking utensils which was ok. However, the cooking pan was overly used and should have been replaced. So we tried to limit the use of it and the pillows were very very soft. So we ended up buying our own travel pillows. We rented two foldable city bikes and had to buy lock ourselves since it was not provided. Besides the practical things, the service and the staff was really supportive and friendly.

Not fancy, but everything was fine for our trip. Friendly staff!

Great vehicles and great service. 24/7 support while on rental. Transparent pricing and no hidden fees. There is no other way to see beautiful Portugal than by campervan.

Esperienza TERRIBILE abbiamo prenotato settimane prima il nostro van Nomad per 4 notti da Lisbona, pagando in anticipo e ricevendo solo informazioni su dove andare a ritirarlo. Solo qualche giorno prima del nostro arrivo ci hanno mandato una mail con un numero da chiamare non appena saremmo arrivati in deposito. Una volta li, nessuno presente all accoglienza, sono le 22.30 chiamiamo il numero e ci risponde una ragazza dall inglese da rivedere che chiedeva codici di carte per la cauzione di 500 nel nostro caso, ok, va bene, un ora al telefono per capirci, avrebbero dovuto avvisarci prima della partenza di questa procedura. Ma non è finita qui, ci dicono che per ritirare le chiavi nel lock hanno bisogno di una firma di un contratto che mandano con un link CHE NON FUNZIONA CON NESSUN DISPOSITIVO. Una volta riusciti nell impresa ci ritroviamo un van sporco, con i sedili distrutti, tendine improvvisate, il serbatoio praticamente vuoto, elettricità interna a zero ed il mezzo con un faro anteriore non funzionante. ASSOLUTAMENTE SCONSIGLIATO! Il guardiano del deposito ci dice che ogni volta succede questo! Per non parlare della riconsegna, arrivati dove indicavano loro, li ti rimandano in un posto diverso. MAI MAI MAI PIÙ E SOPRATTUTTO NON FATEVI FREGARE!

La mia esperienza, ancora in corso, è estremamente negativa: non ho mai avuto esperienza di un servizio così scadente e, oserei dire, fraudolento. In data 2 ottobre ho restituito a Lisbona un van dopo un viaggio di 10 giorni. Alla riconsegna, un addetto del posto ha controllato che il van non presentasse danni o comunque fosse nelle condizioni uguali alla partenza (ad esempio il nostro van aveva un grande ammaccatura e una strisciata su una fiancata già alla partenza) e ci ha salutato dicendo che il van era in perfette condizioni. Tutto sembrava perfetto, ma qualche giorno dopo sono iniziati i problemi. In primis, ho dovuto contattare IndieCampers molteplici volte per avere indietro la cauzione di 2000 euro che avevo versato alla consegna. Dopo giorni di insistenza da parte mia per risolvere questa situazione, la cauzione è stata effettivamente riconsegnata (ma mi domando come sarebbe stato il servizio se non avessi insistito continuamente per giorni). Anche a quel punto, pensavo che fosse tutto finito per il verso giusto. Invece, in data 31 ottobre, IndieCampers decide di sottrarmi circa 800 euro utilizzando i metodi di pagamento usati per il noleggio. Tutto questo avviene senza nessun tipo di comunicazione da parte di IndieCampers. Decido quindi di scrivere, per lennesima volta, allassistenza, la quale mi risponde che gli 800 euro sono dovuti a dei danni scoperti nellultimo mese e che tutti i danni sono perfettamente riportati in un Damage Report che avrei dovuto ricevere. Peccato che questo report non mi sia stato inviato. Rispondono che in massimo 24 ore lo avrei ricevuto: di ore ne sono passate circa 72 e del suddetto report non ho ancora ricevuto notizia, nonostante io stia scrivendo allassistenza ininterrottamente. - English Version - Do not rent from this company under any circumstances! My experience, which is still ongoing, is extremely negative: I have never encountered such poor service, and I would even say fraudulent. On October 2, I returned a van in Lisbon after a 10-day trip. At drop-off, a staff member inspected the van to ensure there was no damage and confirmed that it was in the same condition as at pickup (for instance, the van already had a large dent and a scratch on one side when we picked it up). He assured us the van was in perfect condition. Everything seemed fine, but a few days later, problems started. First of all, I had to contact IndieCampers multiple times to get back the 2000 euro deposit I had paid upon pickup. After days of persistence on my part to resolve this, the deposit was eventually returned (but I wonder what the service would have been like if I hadn t continually insisted for days). At that point, I thought everything was finally settled. Instead, on October 31, IndieCampers decided to take about 800 euros from me, using the payment methods I had used for the rental. This was done without any communication from IndieCampers. I decided to write, yet again, to customer service, and they replied that the 800 euros were due to damages supposedly discovered in the last month, all of which were detailed in a Damage Report that I was supposed to have received. Too bad that I never received this report. They said I would get it within 24 hours, but around 72 hours have passed, and I have yet to see this report, despite my continuous messages to customer support.

Alles in allem waren wir sehr zufrieden. Preis Leistung ist hier definitiv besser als bei der Konkurrenz. Abstriche muss man speziell bei der Sauberkeit hinnehmen. Einzige wirklich negative Punkte: der Abwassertank hat unangenehm gerochen, was speziell bei der Fahrt auch im Innenraum bemerkbar war; Nur eines der beiden Kochfelder hat zuverlässig funktioniert. Ansonsten alles top. Abholung und Abgabe war problemlos. Wichtig ist nur eine funktionierende Kreditkarte parat zu haben.

Some thing on van did not function but overall good experience. Be sure to check all functions before you leave terminal because there are only two Indie Camper centers in all of Portugal to get repairs.

I wish I could give Indie SCAMpers 0 stars because it was by far the worst travel experience of my life. STAY FAR AWAY FROM THIS COMPANY or any of their services. EDIT 6 months later after this horrible experience, they have the audacity to start making monthly recurring charges for 95 euros with absolutely no authorization. Thankfully American Express has had my back throughout this whole ordeal and has reversed all fraudulent charges. EDIT 1 month later; Lots of responses from Indie SCAMpers to the many 1 Star Review but those are just to pull the wool over more peoples heads since if the issue was resolved, most would edit their review to say so. Also find it very curious that the 5 star reviews are all from people with 1-2 reviews (aka bots or fake accounts created by them). I see a CLASS ACTION LAWSUIT coming your way Indie SCAMpers. From the pickup being told the van is not ready (its still charging and the water kpump being replaced) then getting a completely different van that was 7 years old where the whole house electrical system was not working with no 12V outlets functional to the supposed clean water smelling like diesel and feeling oily to the touch. Made the best of the 5 days in the Algarve but had to plug-in to shore power every night so I was pretty much stuck to one place rather than doing the road trip I planned that included stops in Spain. Then as I set back to drop off the van in Lisboa 300km away, the engine light came on and I had a loss of power when the engine went into limp home mode that cuts max rpms to 2500 and is used to protect the engine when a fault is detected. I called their main line repeatedly to try to use the 24/7 roadside assistance that was included in the Premium insurance I added to the booking which also included a van replacement policy if the original van was disabled. It was Easter Sunday so could not even reach anyone on the phone until the following day when I was told I would need to open a ticket in their WhatsApp or using a chat on their website when I repeatedly told them I had no mobile Internet and was in a remote location that barely had a mobile signal. After 48hrs of waiting for roadside assistance or even a call back, I was forced to dangerously drive the broken Fiat Ducato 275km back to. Lisbon on only national/local roads since on uphill climbs the speed was reduced 30-45km/h depending on steepness. A trip that usually takes 3 hours took 9 hours. The cherry on top was getting an 3000 charge for interior damage that was either there at pickup or did not exist, with no evidence or pictures when I paid an extra 20 /night for the Premium insurance with a 500 deposit (which was also not returned) and a 199 maximum liability / deductible. Needless to say I have disputed all charges with American Express who are investigating, filed a complaint with the police and will be speaking to an attorney about the fraud and breach of contract that INDIE SCAMPERS seems to pull on a lot of customers.

We took Atlas 5 motorhome, Which was very cofortable and amazing. It delivered us the best experience we could have asked. We took the basic kit, surprisingly we needed to add more bed kit and gas galon, for 50 euros each. We did not get any response via whatsapp from the support when we had a question.

Had a wonderful two week trip with our family. Everything worked out nice for us. Our camper was pretty tired and used but everything essential was working. The staff at check in/out was super nice. If you do not expect to have a brand new car, then you will be fine with Indie Campers. Dont freak out if the damage list on your received contract is not the one you saw on the tablet, they are not always up to date. Damages will be compared by pictures taken at check in. Nevertheless I recommend to take pictures on your own too. Thanks to the Inde Campers Lisboa team!

Serviço pós aluger muito fraco, após entrega da van sem qualquer problema indicado iniciaram uma série de cobranças no VISA associado ao aluguer sem qualquer autorização ou justificação. Não recomendo e sugiro não recorrerem aos serviços desta empresa.

Extremely Disappointing Experience Never Again I had a deeply unsatisfactory experience with Indie Campers this past summer. Unfortunately, the problems we encountered with the campervan were numerous and severely impacted our holiday. Here s a summary of the issues we faced: 1. Shower Water Irritation: The water from the campers showers was heavily chlorinated or contained some other irritant. Even after draining and refilling the water tank, the problem persisted, causing eye and skin irritation. 2. Dirty Bedding: The bedsheets provided were stained with blood upon arrival, which was incredibly unhygienic and unacceptable. 3. Faulty Camping Gas: The camping gas did not work at all, leaving us unable to cook during the trip. 4. Malfunctioning Portable Fridge: The portable fridge only worked when the campervan was plugged into an external power source and emitted a horrible odor, making it unusable most of the time. 5. Water System Failure: Halfway through our trip, the campers water system completely stopped working. We couldn t shower, wash dishes, or use the kitchen tap for two days. 6. Non-Functioning Electrical Outlets: Several electrical outlets in the van didn t work, further adding to the frustration. Despite reporting these issues, we were told that to resolve the problems, we should either buy new sheets, camping gas, or visit the depot for an inspection. We even requested to return the van due to the awful experience and find our own accommodation for the remainder of the trip. However, we were informed that returning the camper would result in losing the full payment, and swapping the van wasn t an option either. The most upsetting part of the experience was the damage charge we received for a scratch that occurred due to a poorly parked car, as I had explained and submitted proof. The photos clearly show the fault was not ours, and I believe the insurance should have covered it. Furthermore, the person at the checkout estimated the damage amount by eye without proper inspection by a specialist, leading to an inflated and unjust charge. Overall, this was a terrible experience, from the campervan s poor condition to the lack of proper customer service. I would strongly advise against renting from Indie Campers, and I hope my review helps others avoid the same disappointment.

Overall a very good experience, a slight waiting time to collect the vehicle. The latter was great apart from a few details (blinds sometimes not fixing well and drawers opening in turns).

Todo increíble, hicimos un viaje desde el norte hasta el sur de Portugal y fue un viaje para recordar, el camper muy cómodo y la gente que nos atendió muy amable! Recomendado el Atlas 5. Agradecida!!

Leider können wir Indie Campers in Lissabon überhaupt nicht empfehlen. Der Camper wurde bei der Abgabe weder von aussen, noch von innen oder auf seine Funktionalitäten geprüft. Er verwies bereits Mängel auf wie defekte Autolichter, fehlendes Motoröl, defekte Zentralverriegelung (nur manuell mit dem Schlüssel möglich), aufleuchtende Kontrollleuchten, fehlende Abdichtungen oder einen komplett leeren Dieseltank. Zudem war der Camper von innen extrem dreckig, das erste was wir machen mussten, war es, den Camper von innen zu reinigen. Wir haben einen Camper für 2 Wochen gemietet und mussten nach bereits 3 Tagen abgeschleppt werden, weil der Starter defekt war. Der Camper sprang nicht mehr an. Das schlimmste war, dass Indie Campers keine Telefonnummer zur Verfügung stellt für solche Fälle. Sie sind ausschliesslich per WhatsApp erreichbar (diese Nummer kann man nicht anrufen, nur schreiben), was bei einer Panne extrem mühsam ist. Auch über WhatsApp wurde uns nicht geholfen und wir mussten lange auf eine Antwort warten, während wir eine Panne hatten! Schlussendlich mussten wir alles selbst organisieren und uns wurde überhaupt nicht geholfen. Wir mussten zurück zum Depot gehen und haben dann einen neuen Camper erhalten, der dann die restlichen Tage durchgehalten hat. Die ganze Organisation stellt sich als unprofessionell heraus. Der Mechaniker vor Ort hat uns erklärt, dass sie nur die Camper und Wohnmobile herausgeben und zurücknehmen. Bei einer Panne oder bei finanziellen Angelegenheiten sind andere Personen zuständig, die nicht vor Ort sind und nur über WhatsApp erreichbar sind. So werden Ferien nicht erholsam sondern stressig. Wir werden bei Indie Campers keinen Camper mehr buchen und empfehlen es auch nicht!

The car we rented (Sporty) was too old. The oven was dirty, we could not use it. The cooler and the ceiling light in the back did not work. There were several damages at the outside incl. a larger accident damage at the side. There was no sufficient upholsery foam anymore in the lower bed, car is too old.

Camper interior was ok. Motor of the camper van died every second time right after starting it, kitchen supply was terrible, half of the necessary stuff was missing, pans not useable and dirty. Essential travel kit for 4 persons included only one bed linen and cover. Baby seats were as dirty as the pans and pots. At the check-out, they charged us for a missing part of the exterior of the van which was clearly stated as missing/defect in the rental contract. Never again, I would recommend everybody to watch for a different rental company!

Péssima experiência! Em maio de 2024, juntamente com dois amigos, alugamos uma van para fazer uma roadtrip na Islândia durante uma semana. Acontece que tivemos o azar de um pato embater contra o nosso vidro, danificando-o. Tal como nos foi recomendado pela empresa, contactamos o serviço de assistência 24h para solucionarmos o problema, foi que começaram os problemas. Tal como está no contracto é da responsabilidade do contratante chamar um reboque. Inicialmente deram uma solução rápida que estaria a mais ou menos 50 km de distância, o que permitia uma resolução rápida do problema. Avisaram-nos que podíamos ficar descansados que eles iam tratar do assunto (contrariamente ao contexto). Qual não é o nosso espanto quando, sem saber porquê, a empresa contacta um outro serviço que estaria a mais de 700 km do local onde nos encontrávamos, serviço este que demoraria cerca de 7 a 8 horas a chegar, acabamos por esperar mais de 10 horas! Visto que nos foi comunicado que este serviço estava a caminho só nos restou aguardar pelo mesmo. Durante este processo falamos com mais de 4 pessoas no chat da assistência, todas elas sem saberem o que se passava exactamente tendo de ser nós a explicar novamente tudo. Com a chegada do reboque vem a pior notícia possível, teríamos de ser nós a pagar uma quantia exorbitante, cerca de 5400 . Fizemos a viagem de regresso até ao único estaleiro da IndieCampers em toda a ilha e, em conversa com os funcionários, percebemos que seria um valor absurdo mesmo tendo em conta os valores altos praticados no país. De regresso a Portugal contactamos um advogado para perceber se todo este processo estava correcto. Nunca nos foi devolvida a comunicação, nem mesmo por carta registada. Foi impossível contactar a IndieCampers. Após este episódio a imagem da IndieCampers fica muito mal, uma empresa na qual não se pode confiar, que fornece informações contraditórias e não é clara na sua comunicação. Uma grande desilusão e decididamente nunca mais irei contratar os seus serviços.

Keine Empfehlung. Der sporty van war in einem unakzeptabele Zustand. Generell schlecht gewartet. Das Bett einfach unbequem, Gardinen teilweise defekt oder verschmutzt. Die Frischwasser Abdeckung war auch kaputt, der Kundenservice eine Katastrophe. Kauft Panzer-Tape war die Antwort.

Sehr gutes Buchungssystem und moderne Autos. Sehr freundlicher Service und unkomplizierter Vorgang beim Check-in und Checkout. Verbesserungsvorschlag bitte den Camper besser Reinigen, gerade bei einer Vorbereitungsgebühr hofft man auf ein sauberes Auto. Dies war leider nicht der Fall, wir putzen erst vor dem Start, um uns wohl zu fühlen. Gern buchen wir nochmal einen Camper.

Wir hatten eine sehr gute Zeit in Portugal auf unserer Reise mit dem Van. Leider war der Zustand des Vans nicht einwandfrei. Bei Abnahme des Vans war oberflächlich alles ok. Als wir jedoch zu unseren ersten stop kamen, stellten wir fest das der Van überhaupt nicht sauber ist. Die Oberflächen wurden halbherzig abgewischt, der Kühlschrank war super schmutzig und hatte bis zum Ende einen ekelhaften Geruch, so dass einem der Appetit vergeht, sobald man ihn aufmacht. Die Koch Utensilien waren ebenfalls sehr schlecht gespült sowie der Campingtisch mit alten Essensreste versehen. All in all war es trotzdem irgendwie ok, jedoch für den Preis erwarte ich zumindest einen sauberen Van. Ich persönlich werde wahrscheinlich bei Indie Campers nicht mehr buchen.

Heureusement, javais eu la présence desprit de filmer létat du véhicule à la restitution, ce qui ma permis de contester ces fausses accusations. Cest regrettable quune telle précaution soit nécessaire avec une entreprise de location. Leur service client laisse beaucoup à désirer. Lors de mes interactions avec eux, jai eu limpression quils étaient plus intéressés par lextraction de frais supplémentaires que par la résolution de problèmes ou lamélioration de lexpérience client. De plus, leur manque de transparence dans la facturation et leur insistance à utiliser des méthodes de paiement peu sûres (comme demander des détails de carte de crédit par e-mail) ont sérieusement entamé ma confiance en leur professionnalisme. En conclusion, bien que la location du camping-car en elle-même se soit bien passée, les pratiques post-location dIndie Campers ont laissé une impression très négative. Je conseille vivement aux futurs voyageurs de bien réfléchir avant de choisir cette entreprise et, sils le font, de documenter méticuleusement chaque étape de leur location. Une expérience qui aurait dû être agréable sest transformée en source de stress et de frustration.

Check-in and Check-out was good. Very friendly staff. The camper was not in a good shape. E.g The drawer could not be fixed well. The bed was very hard we didnt sleep very good. The process to book was not userfriendly at all.

It s a bit expensive for what you get. The interior is very cheap designed and the bed was very uncomfortable to sleep in. The pick up and drop off are very uncomplicated.

they tell you that the automatic highway fees will be charged to you at the end of the trip. once the trip is over they tell you that there is nothing to pay so they ask you for 15 in commissions months after your return, threatening to take legal action if you do not pay within 7 days. so maybe 2 for the highway becomes 17. unfair.

Poor van, and shocking customer service. It forced me to write my first ever Google review. We rented a van in Portugal, Lisbon and we had multiple issues: - The team sent us on our way without the power cable, so after multiple hours of driving the first day we realised this and we had to drive all the way back. Paying additional fuel + highway toll costs + losing valueable time. The team said this would be noted on our booking and we would be well-compensated for our troubles. - The water in our van was not functioning. The tap was not even properly attached and water did not come out. - The van was in poor state, with many loose screws, loose curtains and the bed wouldnt fit and lock properly. - We tried calling the Lisbon depot 10 (!) times but they didnt answer the phone or returned our calls. When returning the van, they said we should take our complaints up to general indie campers customer service. After writing multiple detailed emails to describe the situation, they only offered to compensate a laughable and insignificant amount compared to our booking fee. Cleary complaints are not taken seriously and they just dream up some small number to further dismiss the complaints for which we had hard evidence. Just very disappointing for such a large company. Will definitely never book with them again and I wouldnt recommend them to anyone. Never experienced something like this where customers who paid a (heavy) price and are failed because of a companys shortcomings are ignored. Personal touch with customers seems completely lost, just shocking. Update: months later they now also try to deduct another 22 from me for open toll fees, while the employee that handled the return of the van assured me after hearing my complaints with 100% certainty that at least didn t need to worry about the toll fee. The toll costs are 7, they just decide to add 15 to it. This company is insane Also the reaction from them under here is pointless, they never reached out to actually set this right.

Nette Mitarbeiter, sehr bemüht. Großer Fuhrpark. Super Abhohl-Center. Leider hatten wir selber viel Pech mit dem Van. Es gibt einen großen Fuhrpark mit sehr alten und neuen Fahrzeugen. Alles ausführlich Checken (auch Innen) bevor man losfährt! Auf den ersten Blick alles gut, aber dann... Ein Reifen hatte einen defekt und 2 nicht genug Druck. Equipment war unvollständig und dreckig. Tisch, hinten, war so abgenutzt das er IMMER quietscht. Bei jeder Kurve, Bodenunebenheit. Von der Funktion dieses als Schlafplatz gar nicht zu reden. Mit einem anderem Van würde ich es allerdings empfehlen und auch wieder machen. Update: Kundencenter hat sich gemeldet und entschuldigt sich mit einer Entschädigung. Sehr nette und schnelle Bearbeitung. :)

Renting an IndieCampers van is all great until you get to the security deposit part. You can read all about it from Reddit posts and I will contribute here with my story. I delivered a van after an 8 day trip, which went OK. I left it clean and treated it as if it was my own. There was some damage on the top-right-back corner of the van which was found by their after-trip analysis. I dont recall the moment the damage was done but I dont question it as they take photos before and after. I also parked close to trees so no problem there. As expected I would cover the damages. All good so far. Now lets get to the value! They are going to keep 1869.24 euros from my deposit because that is the cost of the repair. ??? Almost 1.9K to fix a light dent; their words not mine? They also didnt send this damage report until now, 2 months after the trip, I guess because they were not sure how to deliver this ridiculous news. If you are comfortable with trusting them with a large security deposit or paying overpriced insurance, go ahead, otherwise, I would avoid. I am completely open to negotiation and paying for damage in rentals but not like this and not these values.

Good experience overall, although a bit disappointed about the way the van was equipped: a bit old, some pieces were broken (the fridge, the grey water tap, some lights). Also it would be a good idea to change the curtains: the were old, dirty and more important: not suitable for the windows, which is not very convenient for a vehicle in which you spend the night... The kit options (kitchen set, bed set,...) were very helpful !

Booking ref: J5VO9E Initially, the car seemed fine, but issues quickly surfaced. The dishes were dirty, but this was the least of our problems. After parking for one night, the car wouldnt start the next day. We had confirmed with support staff, Sana Naeem, that we could use the air conditioning overnight as long as we were plugged into a power source at the campsite, which we were. Despite this, the car wouldn t start at 10 am on July 19th. Customer service advised us to jumpstart the car, which failed. They then instructed us to call towing services ourselves. Many did not answer probably due to language barriers. Eventually, a campsite neighbor helped us charge the battery manually, taking over four hours to get a 50% charge. We drove back to Faro depot for inspection and potential vehicle change. At the depot, staff insisted the issue was due to using the air conditioning overnight. Despite their earlier advice, they assured us nothing was wrong with the van and dismissed a check engine warning as a sensor issue. Other issues at Faro depot: Unprofessional and uncomfortable attitude from the staff, who talked down to us and scolded other staff members in front of us. Met a stranded family with three small children who received no help from the company and had to Uber back, paying 100 euros. 21st July: We had no critical problems until we stopped at a toll booth an hour north of Lisbon, and the van wouldnt restart. Despite driving for two hours earlier, the battery seemed empty. On-trip support apologized but offered little help. We had to find and pay for a towing service ourselves (369 euros which is a lot of money for students like us, still awaiting reimbursement). We arrived at the Lisbon depot with the towing truck and were booked a hotel 20 minutes away, causing our trip food to go to waste. The next day, July 22nd, we went back to the depot to discuss options. We chose to end our trip early as there was no guarantee of another van s availability. Additional problems with the van: Portable gas stove malfunctioning. Dirty dishes and cabinets. Water leakage from the shower or sink, causing a wet floor. Only 1/4 tank of fuel provided initially. Customer service was incoherent and uncoordinated. They often took hours to respond, frequently misunderstood our messages, and changed agents often, requiring us to repeatedly explain our situation. They couldn t guarantee anything, leaving us uneasy and worried about refunds or reimbursements. Our trip was ruined by multiple breakdowns and poor service. As students, we saved up for this trip and are extremely disappointed. We re still waiting for compensation and reimbursement. We sincerely hope, that IndieCampers will back up their apologies, with action, and show us that they actually care about their customers and their experience. We have now been through weeks of communication back and forth regarding how much of a refund we will get back. Unfortunately IndieCampers will not provide us with the refund that we deserve. Given everything that has taken place we must express how incredibly disappointed we are with their conclusion. Our vacation has practically been turned upside down, which regrettably has resulted in a stressful and frustrating holiday. The organization has apologized countless times, but when it came down to business, they were simply not able to follow through, and prove that they were anything more than words. We are dumbfounded at the way, in which Indie Campers conducts business. We feel overheard and overseen in every way.

All in all a great experience with the van, even though the customer service could have been friendlier. However we didn t get two wetsuits even though renting them because they didn t have any left. Response to that also wasn t customer friendly. The van though was great with all the equipment.

This is a great way to see Portugal, and driving a camper is a fun experience.

Das Camperlebnis war okay, allerdings erst nachdem wir den gesamten Camper selbst gereinigt hatten. Zum Zeitpunkt des der Übergabe waren viele Mängel feststellbar (Fenster Verriegelung defekt, Rolladen defekt, Toilette und Bad sehr schmutzig, Schubladen und Ablagen dreckig, Bettbezüge zerrissen oder schmutzig...), wurden zum größten Teil schnellstmöglich beseitigt. Nach 3 Stunden Mängelbeseitigung wurden die Verschmutzungen in den Schubladen sowie Boden und Bad hingenommen und selbstständig entfernt. Rückgabe unkompliziert jedoch wurde ein wichtiges Ladekabel vergessen und der Support antwortet nicht. Hatten nur den Ersatzschlüssel (ohne Fernbedienung) bekommen.

Amazing experience from start to finish!

Great campervan and very friendly pick up and drop off team. This was my second booking with IC and we enjoyed the van. The van itself was having some damages that I consider not okay with this high price of rental. The USB plug at the kitchen was broken. Some of cabinet doors were not maintained well. The showerpipe was losing its mantle. We still enjoyed it very much, but this shows to me a lack of good maintenance practices. When we picked up the car the tank was empty (50km to go) as was the ad blue and we should return it like that. This leaves the impression to me that there is purpose behind this to also make money with the difference in gas at the end. I consider full/full the market default fair solution and not using that feels odd to me. Also the pricing strategy is very exploitive and misleading. The final price when booking just essentials is much higher than all the advertised prices initially. When wanting to change the drop off time to a late drop off two days in advance, the price increase would have been 140 for six hours more. This seems unethical and like a throroughly optimized capitalistic practice without being customer friendly. Also the online support can take ages. Ive used it three times and even for very trivial things I waited more than half an hour as each response can take up to ten minutes despite the service people seeking very mechanical in their way of communication. The phone service was useless as they referred me each time to the online service. Will try out Roadsurfer the next time, as their pricing seems much more transparent and fair. Their online service cant be much worse either.

Cleanliness needs to be improved. The fridge does not work well, maximum duration at an optimal temperature is 5 hours. In our camper it would have been useful to have the mini computer where we could see the amount of energy present and also the amount of water. For the rest it was a great experience!

We recently rented a van in Lisbon and, unfortunately, had a disappointing experience. Due to overbooking, we were given a larger van than requested, which we were not fully prepared to drive. While the upgrade could have been appreciated, the van was in poor condition. Inside, the driver s seats were torn, the doors of the cabinets couldn t open or close properly, and the mosquito nets and window shields were broken. We also paid for an essential kit that was supposed to include chairs and a table, but one of the chairs was missing its backrest, making it unusable. Externally, the van showed visible damage and was not cleaned to a standard we would expect. Despite these issues, we did manage to enjoy our trip, but given the price and expectations, the vans condition was far below what we had hoped for. We would urge the company to improve vehicle maintenance to better meet customer expectations.

Indiecampers the Ryanair of rental campervan. Reservation number: #1710378 Ever wonder why people take Ryanair until something goes wrong? It is because that is the moment they realize how bad a company is and the reason they paid such little money. Indiecampers is the same all good until you have a problem. That is when you start to realize why is so cheap because you are stuck with extra cost they just charge from your credit card without informing you or providing proof! Same as Ryanair you need to add on everything that is not basic. However Indiecamper doesn t consider bed linen a basic or at least one bottle of gas basic, nope it is all add-ons for hefty prices. You are aware that Ryanair is not a synonym of quality neither is Indiecampers, we got a run down van full of outside scratches, things in the inside not working and so on. You need an explanation no worries the employees are as helpful and nice as the ones in Ryanair. Providing you always with the correct information and looking for you to pay the least possible, this of course with a smile on their face (ironic of course). On that note at Ryanair and Indiecampers they are very nice employees that do their best to help you but are sadly limited by high Management in their decisions . Ever felt like Ryanair was ripping you of? Indiecampers is the same they overcharge you for repairs and will not provide you with a cost-break down so that you won t notice how little sense it makes. Also don t forget to read the small letters at the end of the contract they will reveal to you that you are basically zero insured, because the insurance doesn t cover this and this. If you are looking for an ethical, high-quality company with integrity skip Indiecampers! Never ever rent with Indiecamp we will upgrade to a better company next time, in the end with the added cost that came our way we could gone for a more expensive trip and enjoyed it!

Worst camper rental experience ever. There was no gas when we got the camper, and really bad communication about this, which meant we couldnt use the stove, shower or fridge. Additionally, the bathroom smelled bad (it turned out afterwards that the toilet was not emptied before we got the camper....) and the bathroom door was broken so we couldnt even lock the door. Additionally, after half a day of driving, we had to buy Adblue liquid for the van because it was empty (costed 20 euros) and we could not get this back. When we communicated all the problems with Indie Campers and asked for some money back, they offered 19 euros, we we paid around 1500 euros for a week in total. Terrible service.

sehr schlechtes preis-leistungs-verhältnis. wir sind nicht kleinlich und haben schon viele van/camping-touren hinter uns, aber die aktuelle erfahrung mit indie camper ist wirklich schlecht. 5cm dicke matratze , das bett quietscht schon nur beim fahren, die window blinds sind nahezu alle kaputt, die schranktüren schließen nicht, die dichtungen an den autotüren sind locker, nur 6h nach dem mieten ist der strom leer und die kühlbox (die super winzig ist) funktioniert nicht mehr. und das alles sollte ein upgrade sein von dem auto, das wir eigentlich gebucht haben. ziemliche enttäuschung. immerhin antwortet der kundenservice zeitnah, aber bisher ohne entgegenkommen. haben das active plus modell, alles sehr sehr runtergerockt und für den preis inakzeptabel.

The problems start after arriving to pick up. They claimed they did not have any other vans and gave me a run down van which would not even support the number of people I had reserved for. After a lot of arguing with the agent he confessed that they had vans but had not cleaned them and I would have to come back a day later to get one. Needless to say this was infuriating. Plans had to be cancelled a day and a half lost. He also said I had to contact whats app support to get any sort of adjustment to the fees. Still waiting on someone from whats app to help.

Wir hatten einen Campervan für 4 Wochen. Natürlich hatte dieser ein paar Gebrauchsspuren, aber alles wichtige war funktionsfähig, oder super schnell über den Support zu regeln. Würden wir sofort für eine Tour durch Portugal weiter empfehlen.

Die negativen Bewertungen sind wahr. Eine höchst dubiose Firma! Der Vertrag ist eine Frechheit, sie können mit einem machen was sie wollen. Buchen sie NICHT hier wenn Sie das noch rechtzeitig lesen!

Too many people scheduled for the same pick-up time, so it was more than 45 minutes late. The van had some damage from previous users, which, although not significantly detracting from the experience, the price paid justifies more care.

If you rent from here protect yourself from this dirtbag company by taking high quality videos & photos of the WHOLE van at pick up including the roof - that way you have proof if youd like to press charges. Here are a list of things to check upon arrival. - functionality of all the curtains - functionality of radio - functionality of cabinets and trash inside - horrible smell of the fridge - horrendous sewer smell in the toilet (which will slowly fill the car as you drive) I hope this raises some awareness for others and please react to this review if you had a similar experience! P.S. dont be fooled by their friendly replies including the one that they come up with to reply to this - awful scammers trying to cover up their image

Hemos tenido una buena experiencia con Indie campers. Han sido bastante eficaces en resolvernos las dudas. Lo único negativo a destacar es que ni el cable de eletricidad ni el del agua tenian adaptadores.

Had a partly non-functioning van (e.g., water, key, fridge) and waited for a long time (although you book an appointment, so kind of funny that you have to wait for >1h). Staff rather unfriendly and uninterested. Would rather choose other rental agency if possible.

FUYEZ !!! Les vans étaient sales et en mal état, des pièces (fenêtres, etc.) sont tombées durant le voyage. Au moment du check-out ils nous ont dit que tout était bon et on nous a demandé de leur mettre 5 étoiles. Puis... une fois chez nous, on nous envoie un mail pour nous dire quà cause dune rayure ils doivent nous enlever 2.145 !!!! Sans justifier le coût réel et quil faut quon paie. Nous allons prendre des mesures légales. Compagnie malhonnête quil faut éviter.

This company seems to have structural problems. The electricity in the car was broken. We paid extra for 24/7 roadside assistance. The only thing you get is a repetitive cycle in a WhatsApp chat helping you not at all. They have send us more than 250km around the country to repair shops and a depot. Nobody knew anything when we arrived there. We lost 4 days of our Holidays and were treated like it was our fault. The guys at the repair shops told us this is not uncommon with Indie campers. They just Run the Cars until broken and never repair them properly. If you get a new car you can be lucky if everything goes right but if you are having a problem, you are completely lost and pay way too much. They gave us a kids surfboard for two adults. Nobody WE were in Touch with assumed responsibility about anything and just pointed at others while our Holiday got worse and worse.

No recomandation for Indie Campers! Very bad experience. Our van was in a very bad condition, the windows, the window blinders and the bed were broken, the engine had a problem and we had to swap the van, lost a lot of time and even if the team in Lissabon was very nice, the conditions of the company are not customer friendly at all! Spoiled our holidays!

Esperienza fantastica con Indie Campers ! Abbiamo noleggiato 2 camper da Lisbona e percorso tutta la costa del portogallo. Nonostante il ritardo causato dall areo , il servizio di assistenza ci ha garantito la possibilità di ritirare i nostri camper fornendoci il supporto necessario per il check-in. Assistenza h24 funzionale e veloce, basta un messaggio su whatsapp per essere ricontattati e risolvere qualsiasi tipo di dubbio o problema! Camper Puliti e comodi per tutte le persone ! Forniti con tutto il necessario. Riconsegna dei camper veloce e cordialità dei ragazzi che ci hanno accolto. Grazie anche ad Igor per la sua gentilezza e professionalità! Consigliatissimo!!

Ich kann diesen Wohnmobilverleih absolut nicht empfehlen. Das Wohnmobil, das wir gemietet haben, war in einem sehr dreckigen Zustand und wurde nicht wie versprochen gereinigt. Als dreckig bezeichne ich nicht den Dreckigen Fußboden sondern, immense Essen und fett Reste voriger Reisenden sowie SÄMTLICHE Fäkalien im Porta Potti. Als wir den Support kontaktierten, erhielten wir nur die Antwort, dass wir das Wohnmobil selbst reinigen lassen sollten und man uns die Rechnung dafür erstatten würde. Daraufhin haben wir geschrieben, dass es nicht Teil unseren einwöchigen Urlaubes ist eine Reinigungsfirma auf zu suchen, die auch Innenräumen und Fäkalien aus der Toilette reinigt. Es war frustrierend, dass der Support zwar schnell antwortete, aber bei der Lösung unseres Problems nicht wirklich hilfreich war. Auf ein Preisliches entgegenkommen war auch schwer zu hoffen, 50 erlass wurde uns vorgeschlagen bei einem Preis von 1.000 Mietkosten. Nach wiederholten Betteln wurden uns 100 angeboten, was meiner Meinung nach ein Witz ist für diese Mentalen Strapazen. Insgesamt war es eine enttäuschende Erfahrung, und ich würde anderen raten, sich nach einem anderen Anbieter umzusehen.
