Sehr guter Kundenservice, immer sehr freundlich. Habe bei der Übergabe nie Fotos gemacht und es gab all die Jahre auch bei Rückgabe keine Beanstandungen. Einzig kleines Manko, dass in letzter Zeit die Sitze nicht sauber sind, einmal auch der Reifendruck zu niedrig war.

Haben heute nach 1 Woche unsere beiden kleinen Flitzer zurückgegeben. Es war einfach super, die übernahme der Fahrzeuge, sehr professionell und dann die Woche damit an der Algarve hat uns als Grossfamilie einen riesen Spass gemacht. Die Fahrzeuge sind quasi neuwertig und in einem super Zustand gewesen. Preis Leistung top. Super nette und zuvorkommende Mitarbeiter. Nur zu empfehlen. Auch der Shuttle vom flughafen dauerte nur wenige Minuten. Gerne wieder mit CAEL.....danke für alles

Unsere Erfahrung mit der Cael Autovermietung war wirklich erstklassig! Von der unkomplizierten Buchung bis zur problemfreien Rückgabe des Fahrzeugs lief alles reibungslos. Das gemietete Fiat 500 Cabrio war in perfektem Zustand, sauber und gut gewartet. Besonders beeindruckt hat uns der freundliche und kompetente Kundenservice, der stets hilfsbereit war und alle unsere Fragen schnell beantwortet hat. Ich werde definitiv wieder bei Cael mieten und kann die Autovermietung jedem empfehlen, der auf Zuverlässigkeit und Top-Service Wert legt!

Wir hatten für 14 Tage einen Peugeot. Uns wurde eine Erweiterung der Versicherung angeboten aber als ich ablehnte wurde nicht weiter gedrängt. Die Übernahme und Abgabe des Fahrzeug lief schnell und Problemlos. Die Mitarbeiter waren sehr freundlich und hilfsbereit. Ich war sehr zufrieden. Nochmal vielen Dank an die Mitarbeiter.

Erstes Auto mussten wir zurück bringen weil eine Motoren-Lampe aufleuchtete, beim zweiten leuchtete Pneudruck andauernd und bei Rückgabe hat man uns Kratzer aufgebrummt welche wir nicht verursacht haben und offensichtlich älter sind; leider keine Fotos gemacht weil im Stress bei Austausch. Erstes und letztes Mal bei diesem Anbieter!

Los autos están en buen estado, es rápido el check in y el check out. El servicio del shuttle no es bueno. No nos ayudaron a meter ni sacar el equipaje y traiamos las 4 maletas llenas y solo éramos dos personas a bordo, además nos dejaron en la terminal equivocada porque no nos preguntó la terminal y nosotros no sabíamos que estábamos en la terminal equivocada. Solo le interesa sacarte rápido de la camioneta y que te vayas porque está de mal humor.

Top Service, schnelle Abwicklung und super preiswert! Nichts zu beanstanden. Lediglich der Transfer vom Flughafen zur Location war etwas schlecht - nicht beschildert bzw. beschrieben - am besten direkt dort anrufen, dann erhält man die Anweisungen.

Trouble-free online booking. Car pick up took a bit long as the car was still being cleaned, however it gave us time to finish all the paper work. When we felt the car was smaller than expected, they were willing to give us a bigger car with no trouble at all. The car we got was super clean, with specifications as described on the website. It had some insignificant scratches here and there, nothing major - I documented all of these on a video the day of the pick up, made sure they had them documented in their records as well. Drop off was super fast and smooth, as I had the full insurance. All in all, it was a good experience with a reasonable price. Just make sure you use a CREDIT card (not debit), which has to be valid for 3 months AFTER the drop-off date - it needs to be valid because the toll fees will be withdrawn at later dates. Super nice experience with Cael. They were there to pick us up when we walked out of the airport. The car was okay, not the newest or biggest but did the job, the price was good (we didnt take any extra insurance as those are quite pricey). Be sure to book the car on the name of the person whose credit card youre going to use (you need a credit card for the deposit, if you dont have a credit card they wont give you a car I think). Super friendly staff!! Returning the car was super quick too, and after a few minutes they took us back to the airport again. Would choose this company again next time!

Fiz a reserva online, paguei online 3 semanas antes , cheguei no dia para levantar O carro, nao me deram O carro pk O meu cartao de credito nao tem os 3 numeros atras , entao como eles Nao teem outra maneira de resolver O assunto , nao pude levantar O carro.. Refused to give a car, because of my card. I already rented several times from them, but now they refuse to take same card! Fraud company!

The car rental itself was fine, but the process to check in and out was just not that friendly. I worked with 3 people overall, in addition to speaking to a couple on the phone. They are not clear about what to bring...until you are there. No explanation on the car, how it worked, features, beyond mentioning a toolkit in trunk. No cruise control available not mentioned. Car itself was fine, but often unintuitive - parking, steering wheel design, console all illogically designed. Everyones attitude, with the exception of the person I spoke with on the phone initially, was annoyed, exasperated, cold and not helpful at all. They did their job but with what appeared as the minimum effort and no joy. I wouldnt rent here again based on the overall car quality and experience.

Rented the MB GLA180d at CAEL Lisbon airport for 02 - 11 of March 2023. Ive got completely new car (2000km run since production) and it was perfect. Didnt leave any deposit, but paid the full insurance instead. They have picked me and my family up in the Lisbon airport out of working hours and allowed to change the return location to the citys one. That was really nice. Pay attention to the office working hours and if you land/arrive later you should notice them by email in advance(30eur added cost will be applied). Ive got transponder and highly recommend doing the same if you plan to travel a lot across the Portugal, like I did. Pickup from the airport is done by call upon arrival. In my case they called me, because Ive notice on my late arrival in advance. So far this was my best car rent experience by price/quality.

we thought it was a serious company given the reviews on google! we had so many problems at the car pickup; they didnt accept our credit card or even our debit card having done all the insurance we could! Plus not content with that Miss Anna Praia tried to take every last cent away from us by charging us extras even though they were not necessary! Szuka em ma ego crossover dla rodziny 2+2, cael wychodzi bardzo konkurencyjnie. I wysz o wietnie. Dosta em nowego Seat Arona, mia wszystko co potrzeba, w tym CarPlay i kamer cofania. Odbiór szybki i bezproblemowy, tanie foteliki dla dzieci (jako niestety adekwatna), samochód oszcz dny i bezproblemowy. Oddanie samochodu - zero problemów, zaj o 5 minut. Ogólnie - rewelacja.

Agence de location sérieuse. Ils viennent vous chercher à laéroport (il faut juste les appeler à votre arrivée et ils arrivent dans les 5 minutes). Voiture en parfait état proche du neuf. Le personnel est très gentil et sympathique. Ils parlent un peu le français pour celui qui ne parle pas langlais. Retour du véhicule simple et rapide. Cest parfait. Merci.

Everything was paid and reserved with full coverage but they refused to give me a car because they demanded a credit card. This information wasnt anywhere on the rental reservation or payment invoice. They told me they have it on their website. What about putting this information to confirmation email where there are tons of useless text but this important information doesnt? Finally I found a company which normally accepts debit cards because its not rocket science to block money there. PS: We were waiting at the airport for almost an hour for transit to the rental office because the driver wasnt waiting on the agreed place and we had to call him multiple times to get information he was waiting somewhere outside.

You want rental car in Lisbon? Dont bother with airport companies and go with those guys. Even a little bit off the airport, the shuttle will pick you up within 10 mn. Clean car, easy pick up and drop off, no scam or forced insurance and quick refund of the mandatory 2000 EUR deposit. They also speak perfect English.

Very smooth rental and we loved the car. Pickup was a little unclear as the meeting point in the airport has a ton of rental companies showing up. Nonetheless, we highly recommend them and we would gladly rent again. The rental was set up with a toll pass which you will NEED if you take any major routes out of Lisbon. They can also help you with the proper documents if you would like to travel to Spain. They speak English well and it was very easy. We rented the Opel Corsa and the gas mileage was great. We drove all over the western portion of Portugal between Lisbon and Porto and it maybe used just over one full tank. *** Regarding airport pickup, I suggest calling Cael or just ubering from the airport to the car location as its probably only a 3-4 euro Uber and its not worth waiting at the airport for 45+ minutes. There are a ton of shuttles and youll want to know what theirs looks like so you know what to look for. *** If youre from the US, international phone charges are usually $1.99 per minute if you need to call. You can use WhatsApp if you know how to set it up.

Came all the way for nothing. They didnt accept my revolut card apparently they only accept a certain types of credit cards which I didnt have. They had no other solutions to propose at all.

Airport pickup was not actually an airport pickup. They forgot to show up, so I had to call them. Then they refused my card, after I had paid! Left me stranded in some weird ass neighborhood in Lisbon. Rude service. And stop telling people we informed you about needing a credit card . Firstly, you accepted my payment in the first place - just deny it. Secondly everyone uses the term credit card for all cards - even your own website, you should have said you don t accept debit cards if you wanted to be clear.

Cael ist meines Erachtens die beste Autovermietung in ganz Portugal. Wir wurden direkt von Flughafen abgeholt. Alle Mitarbeiter waren super freundlich. Uns wurden keine unnötigen Versicherungen aufgeschwatzt. Nach einer unkomplizierten Übergabe der Autoschlüssel wurde uns noch das komplette Auto gezeigt und alle Funktionen erklärt. Auch die vorhandenen Schäden wurden detailliert mit uns zusammen durchgegangen. Das Auto war technisch und optisch in einem top Zustand mit wenigen Kilometern (ca. 18.000km). Auch die Rückgabe war echt unkompliziert und dauerte nur ca. 5 Minuten. Das einige was erwähnt werden muss ist, dass es keine Keybox beim Checkout gibt.

The rental was smooth, and they were accommodating to my needs. The car was clean and no surprises during inspection. The only negative is that they request quite a large security deposit. Also note that their location is not a walking distance from the airport. They offer a shuttle service for the transport instead.

We rented an A-class Mercedes from this place for 11 days. The reception and staff were very nice, attentive and helpful. After one day, we noticed that the car s own GPS does not work outside of Portugal and since we wanted to visit spain we required either the GPS to work in Spain or the car has Apple Carplay which it didn t. We called them and returned the car in 30 minutes later and they replaced it with a car of same class with no issues. Obviously they had another car available and we didnt care what the car would be as long as it wasn t too small but they seemed to care to give us a car of the same class. Highly recommending this company.

Agence de location très très mauvaise avec des pratiques commerciales douteuses,2500 EUR de caution sinon obligé de prendre une assurance sur place, ce que fait doubler le prix de départ de la location, obligation de prendre la via verde a 18Eur une espèce de télépéage, et en plus si jamais pour une raison quelconque vous avez un imprévu et que vous devriez partir plutôt sachez que vous êtes pas remboursé la différence des jours. A fuir allez plutôt dans les agences de location dans laéroport beaucoup plus sérieux

The meeting service offered is actually a regular shuttle. The store is far from the airport and there is an additional charge for early departures. I paid for full insurance through the website and they said I had to hire another one... Terrible service

We rented a car at the CAEL airport location several months ago. The employee at the desk Fabia or Favia (spelling?) has a disgusting bad attitude. She also behaved rudely to another couple. She sighed, tapped her nails, rolled her eyes, and spoke poor English but became easily frustrated when she couldnt understand us. CAEL should fire this employee before she ruins the companys reputation.

J ai rarement rencontré une personne aussi antipathique et désagréable. Madame, changez de métier. Vous n êtes pas heureuse et l agence entière est emplie de vos mauvaises ondes. Nous sommes arrivés après de longues heures de vol. Malheureusement pas possible de récupérer la voiture sans carte de crédit (ce qui est assez commun au Portugal et que nous avons appris à nos dépends). Cependant, pourquoi avoir accepté notre paiement en ligne via une carte de débit 1 mois avant lors de la réservation ? Je ne comprends toujours pas la démarche si ce n est de nous faire perdre du temps, de l argent et vivre un très mauvais moment. J ai loué des voitures sur tous les continents et jamais je n ai vécu une telle situation par le passé. Nous avons par chance pu louer (et repayer) une voiture en dernière minute avec Goldcar et sans carte de crédit. Merci à eux! Le seul point positif c est la réactivité du service client par mail qui a remboursé notre location annulée en conservant 60 de frais d annulation bien évidemment. En bref, passez votre chemin!

Nunca fomos tão mal atendidos. A atendente que nos recepcionou, não consegui verificar o nome, mas ela tinha cabelo com tom avermelhado, é extremamente rude, grosseira e debochada. Tentou nos intimidar para fechar seguro a parte e no momento que falamos que não seria necessário, mudou o tom de voz para falar que se acontecesse qualquer coisa, mesmo que não fosse nossa culpa, a gente ia pagar. Além disso falou que se a gente chegasse 5 min atrasado para devolução do carro, iria cobrar uma nova diária. Quando solicitei que passasse meu cartão no debito, ela fez um som de deboche e bufou pra falar: aqui não tem isso. Quando fomos devolver o carro, o local ainda estava fechado e ficamos aguardando na frente, ela chegou com um van em velocidade e quase pegou a lateral do nosso carro. No começo achamos que o problema era conosco, mas quando fomos devolver o carro, vimos ela fazer o mesmo com uma família de americanos que também comentou que ela era extremamente grosseira e mal humorada. Fico pensando como alguém assim trabalha com atendimento ao publico, deve estar muito infeliz mesmo.

We have had nothing but positive experiences renting cars in six different countries last year and CAEL was the worst. An employee named Flavia or Fabia was rude and condescending to both of us and another couple in line before us. She impatiently tapped her nails, rolled her eyes, and made negative comments about us to her male co-worker assuming we do not understand Portuguese. We almost laughed at her because we typically only encounter this level of trash in the US. Thank you for the free entertainment. Someone this miserable and ill-tempered should stay away from customer service.

Really nice service. I made a mistake in the dates with my booking. It was corrected at the desk. And the day after I asked for an extension. It was easy and allowed me to make my journey even better.

Alugamos o carro com eles na última visita a Portugal e não nos arrependemos. Empresa séria, com preços acessíveis, carros em muito bom estado (o nosso era literalmente novo), pessoal super simpático e prestativo, nada burocráticos e ao contrário de algumas rent-cars não inventam motivos para não devolução da caução. I was skeptical. A car rental place with such high reviews?? But they did not disappoint! Pickup from the airport was smooth, very friendly team and easy process. Beforehand I had a few questions for oir specific situation, and they replied fast and friendly. Returning the car at 4am comes at a very reasonable extra cost, and even at 4am they are friendly and efficient. Then is there nothing that could be better? If I have to pick something, the quality of the child seat is not amazing - it meets all criteria, but not the best type around. Overall very highly recommended!

Abbiamo trovato su in forum il nominativo di Cael e ci siamo documenati: confermo che tutto era come descritto da chi ci ha preceduti: disponibilità, cortesia e professionalità. Tutte le auto viste stazionate erano recenti e in ottimo stato. Sia allarrivo che alla partenza, siamo stati accompagnati con un mini van (nuovo e pulito) da collaboratrici gentilissime.

Excellentes prestations, nous sommes ravis. On vous appelle à votre arrivée pour venir vous chercher en mini bus. Personnel sympathique. Très bonne voiture bien entretenue. Au retour, on ne vous cherche pas de difficultés au contraire, le personnel fait tout pour vous faciliter les choses et vous emmener rapidement à laéroport. Prenez bien loption pour les autoroutes si vous avez lintention de faire pas mal de route, cela vous facilitera la vie.

Very efficient operation, good prices too. They do not push any extras, but I recommend getting the toll tracker (14 Euro) which makes taking the highways to Porto and others almost 50% quicker. The tolls themselves were around another 25 Euro that I had to pay when I dropped the car off.

Freundlich, unkompliziert und sehr schnell. Wir mussten weder bei der Abholung noch beim Abgeben warten. Die Mitarbeiter/innen war sehr freundlich und haben uns keine Zusatzversicherung aufgeschwatzt. Wir konnten sogar problemlos die Kreditkarte meiner Freundin verwenden, da meine Kreditkarte (Hauptfahrer) nur eine Debitcard war. Bisher die beste Erfahrung, die ich mit einer Autovermietung im Ausland hatte. Würde ich immer wieder hingehen, wenn ich in Portugal ein Auto brauche.

Excellent, efficient, fair price, no lines or waiting. Nice car. At return they tried to blame us for old damage, but we did a video walk-around at pickup. Once they saw the video and that the damage was already there, they immediately said no problem and the rest was smooth sailing.

Completely satisfied with their service. Almost new cars for reasonable price, no scam or enforcing to buy full insurance. We returned the car, manager walked around, checked fuels level and released the deposit. Credit card is required. Toll tracker is not necessary, simpy avoid road 22 in Algarve.

Great place to rent a car if you come to Portugal.

It was great from the moment we landed until we returned the car. A staff member greeted us at the airport and took us to the office using Cael shuttle car (5 min drive). It took us another 10 mins to sort out paper work then we were off. Returning the car was also straightforward and quick. All staff are very friendly and helpful. Will definitely hire again!

By far the best car rental company we know of. We rent a car from Cael 1-2 times every year. The staff is super friendly, the airport shuttle service works excellently and the cars are no older than 1 year and in great shape.

At a time when big rental businesses are cheating customers with fraudulent damage claims, CAEL really sets the standard for customer service. Here are just some ways they stand out: - they have better prices - their insurance is standard so you dont have to fear being charged for damages you didnt cause, as you would for other rental companies - they went above and beyond by storing our luggage there over the day so we dont have to risk their theft during our road trip to Sintra. - they have a courtesy shuttle service that waited for us and drove us to the airport The only suggestions for them to improve are to: 1. make at least their airport one be 24/7 (or at least close later). We were a bit stressed trying to get back before they close at 8 2. Improve their website to be faster and more functional, so you dont have to call for basic things Not enough to ruin the overall experience though. Ill definitely consider them again when Im back in Lisbon.

Very easy process of booking a rental car for my short stay. When I arrived at the airport I called the number on the booking and they came in a mini van straight away to collect me. Then the process was smooth and they also dropped me off at the airport. It was empty therefore no waiting queues around September

I was apprehensive because they have no counter at the airport. However, they pick you up quickly and within less than 30 minutes your driving off the lot with a brand new car. It beats waiting the long lines I saw at the airport counters. I have to give a huge thank you also when I was leaving I forgot my pets paperwork in the car (it fell into a really hidden spot) they checked for me and when couldn t find it, they came back to airport to pick me up and looked with me everywhere, they even got under the car, checked the offices ... I was panicking but they were so helpful and told me they wouldn t leave until we found the folder. When we found it, if it weren t for covid, I feel I would have hugged them all! They really helped me remain calm and did everything possible to help. I would highly recommend because they have great services, prices and very attentive staff.

Im usually quite afraid of renting a car and all problems that can go with it (you can read so many things on the ineternet) so I decided to look at customer ratings and selected CAEL. I rented a car for 2 weeks in August 2020: the car was almost new (Seat Leon) in perfect condition and the staff were really very friendly, as soon as I landed they called me to repeat where the meeting point was. The pick-up of the car is really just 5 minutes away and they collect you in a nice van to drive you around. When I returned the car, it had a scratch (completely my fault) and as I had an insurance they helped me fully to ensure I had all paperwork and pictures taken properly so my claim would be processed rapidly - I even e-mailed them on a Sunday to get a missing paper and they send it to me straight away ! Now, a week later everything is settled. So I do recommend this company and for sure Ill rent again with them. Congratulations to the team for really providing good service.

Our car and the contract was already prepared though we arrived one hour earlier. The service explained everything about insurance, the electronic toll system and the car itself. #1 Car rental company in Lisbon! Upon arrival at Cael Rent-a-car in Lisbon within 15-20 min we were driving a brand new Mercedes A180D AMG package out the lot. The staff were very friendly explained everything about the car and policies. The car was clean and fresh.

Good and efficient. Despite having to go out of the airport this ended up being quicker than other car rentals in the airport as I know the wait was about an hour to pick up a car. Good service and adaptable on type of car depending on luggage.

Au vu des commentaires des autres loueur de l aéroport nous avons opté pour Cael. Nous ne sommes pas déçu. A l arrivée, la personne était facilement trouvable, et très simpas. Pour retirer la voiture , personnel simpas , rapide et efficace. Au retours l agence à ouvert à 5h00 pour réceptionné le véhicule. La personne était à l heure , très rapide et sans aucun problème pour nous déposer à l heure.

Navigating the rental car scene in Lisbon was challenging from the research I did. This is a great option - easy to get to from the city (25 mins, 13 euro Uber). Cars were nice, staff was nice and honest, and it was affordable. We were really pleased with this company and would recommend it! Be advised if driving around for the first time here - the tolls in Lisbon are expensive (driving RT to and around Lagos, and we did nearly 50 euro). They have an easy pass you can use to make this seamless.

We rented a car for a week, everything worked like clockwork, they picked us up from the field, we got an almost brand new car, I only added the cost of the identification device to pay for the highways, they didnt bother with the whole issue of extras, and the return also went smoothly and quickly, including a printed breakdown of the road costs - highly recommend them!!

do not use their GPS way out of date ended up using my smart phone the entire trip didnt end up with the car that we reserved online therefore gas consumption was way over the roof,they did not describe how their toll system works in portugal and gave us a device that keeps track of our tolls and fell off the inside of the windshield within a day and had to hold the device up on the windshield every time we came up to a toll got very annoying do not reccomend this company for touristic travelers

I had a good experience with Cael Lisbon. I took my precautions (pictures of the car when I received it and when I returned it) but I did not have any issue and did not have to use them. Fast transportation to/from the airport and short queue to receive and return the car. And on top of that, the staff was friendly :-)

Ok maar retourneren van de auto in Lisabon( in de buurt van het vliegveld) was een zeer moeilijke opgave. Dat adres is heel moeilijk te vinden en er zijn geen borden of vlaggen die naar dit bedrijf wijzen.

I rented a car with Cael a week ago, and had a very good experience with them. I took a car for a week and gave it back without any additional cost. To avoid any disappointment when renting a car with them or with some other cheap car rental companies, here are some advices : - When receiving the car, take a look at both interior and exterior, and spend some time on it ! A minute isnt enough, so look closely to find any scratch/bump anywhere inside or outside. Look at the wheels, shields etc.. The staff will try to make this step as fast as possible so that you miss some defects, so if you see anything, tell them to write it down. - Take pictures ! Make sure you take plenty of pictures when you receive the car, and more importantly, make sur they see you taking those pictures. They will then understand that you are looking closely and dont want to be scammed on this. - Give back the car clean. Doesnt need to be very clean, but there is a minimum. With those advices, you will probably have a good experience with them and wont lose any money. They provided good service to me, with a shuttle transfer to the airport (both ways). They were all very nice. But keep in mind that if youre not careful, you can easily have some costs adding up to the bill..

The only possible drawback is they dont have a booth at the airport and you have to meet representative at meeting point in arrivals and then share a shuttle to the office. Once there process was fast, no hassle at all and for some magical reason I got BMW instead of Peugeot. Yey!

I would really like to leave a good review for Cael, but I cannot as negligence of their staff costed me 248 euros in extra charges. When rented a car, I asked customer service agent Flavia whether the car uses diesel or gas. She told me that it is gas. When asked whether its a regular or premium gas, the answer was regular. When I needed to fill up the tank, there were four color-name choices at the gas bar: yellow-diesel, blue-gasoleo 87, and two greens: gasolina 95 and 98. Everywhere in Canada and USA, a regular gas has octane number 87, so, without knowing Portuguese, I naturally assumed that gasoleo is regular gas and gasolina is a premium one. Apparently, gasoleo is a name for another type of diesel, so as a result, the car was not driveable and we had to waste half a day waiting for the service to pickup the car and then drive an hour from Aveiro to Porto and back to pickup a replacement car, plus we had to pay 248 euros for repairs. I rented cars all over Europe for the past 25 years and never had such an issue, so I blame Cael staff for failing to warn me that gasoleo is a diesel rather than gas. I am posting this review to make sure people are aware of the ambiguous naming for gas/diesel in Portugal.

Great service, pickup from airport was easy. I booked through a separate online website, and they had my reservation and did not charge anything extra apart from the charges on my toll transponder. They even upgraded me to a brand new mercedes for free. Returning the cars was easy as well, the gentleman checked the mileage and made sure it still ran, and that was it! The car ran beautifully the entire week we had it. Will definitely use CAEL again. Also, they take AMEX which is a bonus for any points-hoarders out there.
