Rented a van from Sixt Rent A Car in Lisbon and had a fantastic experience! Joel Castro was particularly outstanding – very efficient, friendly, and made the whole process smooth and easy. Highly recommend for anyone in need of a rental in Lisbon!
This was the last time I rented the car from Sixt! 3 hours waiting time until I picked up the car - huge line for the papers, it took 15-20 mins per person, in the car park I was told to wait another 40 mins until the car is washed. During the return the employee wanted me to take responsibility of all damages of the car even though they were already existing! She did not want to listen to me even though I declined the damages. I have never experienced such a bad service before!
I have to give 5 start's for the first time, no one forced me to have insurance had to ask for it, the car was new no problem's the staff was 5 start's very easy, the transfer was perfect on time. Good work. Best regards Marco Gonçalves
Sixth is operating a scam in Portugal. I use them in the US, no problem. I pre paid for the car on Priceline, They then charged me extra for all these additional charges, They also claim I damaged the rim, which you can see there isn't damage. I also didn't cause the alleged damage. They are charging $212 Euros

We rented a car here for 2 weeks at the end of August. We waited the shuttle for 10 mins at the airport which is okay and what we expected. Once there, no line, we could start the process to pick up the car immediately, the staff was very friendly and gave good explanations. We chose lucky dip and we got a VW T cross, which was almost new, with 3000 km. A bit disappointed with the car as it was not so well optioned, for example no rear camera /sensor to park, which could be useful to avoid scratching the car. Otherwise, when we gave back the car, the staff was very quick to check the car, we didn't have to queue, no issues even if we gave back the car a little bit dirty because we went to the beach, they did not charge us anything. And the shuttle to go back to the airport was immediately available.
Do not rent here. I have spent well over two hours in the branch waiting for child car seats and a sufficiently sized car to arrive. This is an online booking entered in advance. The car offered to me was the smallest in the category and no satisfactory alternatives were available. This is quite an awful rental experience for me. There are quite a few other customers having various issues with their rentals and spending the time with me here :(
One of the only rental shops in Portugal with a website that works correctly! I tried to reserve through Enterprise rental but their website wouldn't allow me to choose any of the available pick-up times, so gave up and rented from Sixt. The staff are super friendly x energetic, and helpful for explaining about driving on the expressway in Portugal. The car was given with explanation on setting gps to English and fuel tank. Because the roads are narrow, I accidentally scratched the side mirror but returning the car was a breeze. They assured me and made me feel relaxed about the scratch I had created. Accessing the rental shop is a little difficult if you walk from the nearest subway station so make sure to take the bus there instead. I'll definitely be renting from them again soon. One thing which I wanted to know was the expressway toll charges. Not sure how much I was charged each time I crossed, but other than that, the staff emailed me my invoice. Really helpful especially for foreigners booking a car from their hoke country.

We needed the car for an extra 2 hours. They charged us for 24 hours but would only let us keep it for an additional 2. Poor customer service and extortion. Never again.

Foi a primeira vez que aluguei viatura na SIXT. Excelentes na reserva, atendimento e entrega! Limpeza cuidada da viatura, recente e com poucos quilómetros. Vou considerar para alugueres futuros e recomendo esta empresa que se diferencia com percepção por parte do cliente.

Achtung! Zwei Monaten nach Abgabe kam plötzlich eine Schadensmeldung. Sehr suspekt, denn wir konnten den Preis sogar noch runterhandeln, mussten trotzdem zahlen. Ich bin treuer Sixtkunde, aber nur noch direkt, nicht beim Franchise.
Expérience moyenne. À l allée je me suis senti assez pressé de prendre le retour avec le réservoir vide (essence pre-paid). Ça m a juste embêter plus qu autre chose parce que personne veut rester pris sans essence. Bilan on paie le plein et on rend la voiture avec 150km d autonomie. Les gagnants? Sixt. L expérience aussi pour faire le tour de la voiture était négative, l employé expéditif et pas très agréable. Enfin au moment de rendre la voiture à Lisbonne, l endroit était compliqué à trouver, mal renseigné et très exiguë Je pensais que Sixt était mieux que les autres, erreur de ma part
Had a very nice experience. The staff were quick both during pick-up and return. The car was practically new. No issues on return.
We waited from 7:30 to 9 pm with no car. The guy didn t know which car we will get and he kept saying it s getting washed even though our initial booking was at 6:30 pm. At the end we decided to cancel the booking and go with another car provider. Never renting a car from Sixt again!
Eigentlich klar: schon im vergangenen Jahr war der Service unterirdisch. Ewige Warteschlangen und Mitarbeiter, die einem sämtliche Mehrleistungen verkaufen wollen. Zudem bekommt man natürlich nicht das gebuchte Auto, sondern ein Ähnliches . Nach den anderthalb Stunden warten warte man dann oben in der Abholung noch eine weitere dreiviertel Stunde auf den Wagen, den man schon zwei Stunden gemietet hat.

A frase as empresas são feitas de pessoas não é um chavão e mesmo que venha toda a tecnologia vamos sempre precisar das pessoas para humanizar o processo. Como tal, à parte do procedimento desde a reserva até ao levantamento ter sido simples, rápido e barato (pois a SIXT tem uma low coast FIZZER com preços ainda mais acessíveis) tenho de destacar a Rute, que fez o meu atendimento. A Rute foi 5 estrelas, disponível, proativa, mais do que simpática, verdadeiramente empática, solucionadora e profissional. A Rute está no meu top 5 de profissionais que já me atenderam em várias indústrias.

Just like many people attracted to Sixt, I too, was attracted to their newer car rental options for personal and business use for a very long time. Their rental costs were also something to be happy about. So, this part of Sixt continues to be attractive and they know this strategy continues to bring in new renters. However, the last three times I rented from them, both in the US and Europe, I got slammed by artificial damage claims. The last instance was a scratch on the front right rim in the amount of 260 euros. When you add hidden toll road fees and fuel surcharges when the car was returned with a fuel tank, your so called attractive rate rental quickly becomes pretty expensive. Their customer service experience is non-existent and very dismissive at best. Just save yourself a headache and rent from someone else. This is the only way these guys will reverse strategy to what make them a great company years ago. They lost me as a retail and business customer. Very disappointing.

DO NOT USE THEM! Had a rental confirmed for 3 months. I showed up to get the car and they claimed there was an international block on my account and couldn t tell me why. They were unable to provide any information on how to find out why there was a block. Ultimately, after researching other cars in the area, it was an extremely busy weekend and it is likely that they were able to rent my car out at a much higher price.

Experiência péssima! Profissionalismo zero por parte dos colaboradores, empresa mal caráter com políticas que só prezam por lesar o cliente a fim de tirar-nos dinheiro a qualquer custo, agem de má fé no momento da devolução do veículo acusam de ter causado danos sendo que no momento da retirada não instrui pra tirar fotografias e nem inspecionar como se deve, simplesmente como cliente confiei no trabalho e honestidade da empresa no final foram descobertos danos no veículo que não conseguiram provar que foi eu quem causei, simplesmente cobraram do cartão e ainda me impossibilitaram de recorrer ao seguro do cartão por conta de uma cláusula no contrato. Nunca mais utilizo esses serviços e também jamais indico a qualquer pessoa.

Roge o Martinho was great as a customer service representative! Very helpful and everything was smooth for the first rental. Insurance is quite pricey but the toll Pass is worth it! I even came back a week after my rental was over and rented again and got a decent upgrade for my station wagon rental! Sixt overall has the best prices and customer service was pleasantly outstanding!

Nous avons été bien accueilli et les explications du contrat étaient clairs. Nous avons bénéficié de la navette partant de laéroport (il faut les contacter pour quils viennent nous chercher en 10 min.). Le retour a été super rapide, facile et le dépôt de sécurité nous a été crédité. A+ pour les employés quis nous ont servi. Je nai pas pris lassurance suggérée gentiment par la dame (contrairement aux commentaires je nai pas senti quon me harcelait). Pourquoi prendre une assurance lorsquon est couvert en grande partie par notre carte de crédit qui la fournisse lorsqu on paie avec la carte?
Je ne recommande absolument pas cette agence. Nous avons dû payer 90 euros en plus car nous n avons pas 25 ans ( permis français + nous avons 25 ans dans 2 mois ), on nous a obligé à payer 12 euros un télé péage déjà intégré dans la voiture , la location vallait 121 euros sur internet et nous avons dû payer 20 euros de plus à l agence sous prétexte que nous avions pas assez payé sur internet. Personnel qui ne fait aucun effort de compréhension et facture ne correspondant pas avec le prix payé. A la réception du véhicule vous n avez aucune explication sur son fonctionnement.
Nous avons loué un petit utilitaire dans cette agence il y a quelques semaines. Tour dabord la voiture est arrivée largement en retard en comparaison à lheure indiquée dans le contrat (plus dune heure), alors que celle ci avait été réservée en avance. Nous ne nous sommes pas attardés là dessus étant pressés. Quelquun nous a rapidement fait faire le tour du véhicule. Trop rapidement. Nous sommes partis puis revenu pour rendre la voiture le soir même, donc très en avance. La personne qui fait le check out nous informe de la présence dun petit trou sur le siège conducteur. Nous sommes sûrs que cest pas nous. Mon compagnon refuse de signer, la personne nous dit quil ny aura pas de problème cest quelque chose de minime. Fatigués de notre journée nous cédons. GRAVE erreur. Quelques semaines plus tard nous recevons un mail nous réclamant environ 1400 ! Nous ne savons pas encore comment nous allons procéder mais vous allez entendre parler de nous. Si je peux vous donner un conseil: nallez jamais chez eux. FUYEZ! Et restez en permanence sur vos gardes ! Quelque soit lissue de cette histoire, vous avez déjà perdu des clients !

This is the place where the time stands still. It is unbelievable how you can have a lot of people working in this place, in an unproductive way. Only customer there. 25 min to have the contract signed and another 10 to get the care. And, BTW Sixt, in the last 7 years, rented more than 100 cars, and every time your employees have to write my personal data. Why?

Meinten dann der E-Mail Verkehr ist verloren gegangen und Sie könnten ja nichts dafür. Nach ewigen Warten lassen (fast 2 Stunden!) wollten Sie mir dann einen Wagen für knapp das 3-fache andrehen.

I edited the review after being attended. customer service considered us after weeks of wait, a number of calls, a number of emails, a one star review and contacting via dm on Instagram. weve been charged extra for the fuel although we brought back a full tank and this required long to get refund. Please be careful when you book because they put one price, then it turns out to be 150 euros more. So always double check so at the desk when you return the car. returning the car was not easy so my advice is to check carefully when you book. Not sure I would repeat the experience.
This branch is a joke - I actually won t be using Sixt again. They Charged me for not returning the car full, even after I provided proof (a receipt from the petrol station!) that the car was returned full of petrol. Awful service.

They charge for a fuel tank even if it is delivered full. I called customer support to find out if I could deliver it to another station and they told me that I could and there would be no additional costs, however they charged me an extra 16 euros.
Do not rent here. Ive been charged two times the rental amount like 5 days later. The car returning was perfect amd they gave us the non-damage conforming document. We rented two cars and the other person who gave his card has been charged twice too. Weve called them 2 days ago and they still have not returned our money back. BAD EXPERIENCE!

Online bookings are very slow to be confirmed. Online services must be more efficient than in-person services, otherwise there is no point in their existence. I had to choose another company.
Would give ZERO stars if possible. Charged us for a car we couldn t rent because their system was down. Wasted two hours of our life and 100 years of mental energy. They are now my enemies from this day until my last day.
Retirei as estrelas que anteriormente dei à Sixt dado que no aluguer de comerciais, os veículos não têm proteção de chão na zona de carga. Sendo um veículo comercial ao carregar qualquer equipamento muito facilmente fica danificado e essa custo segundo informação dada pela mesma é incutido ao cliente. Não é clara a forma do que não é cobrado nos danos nessa zona de carga.
Off airport center. The staff are friendly but they are seriously understaffed. We waited a full hour for our turn with 1 person helping all customers. We then had to finish the extensive paperwork needed before picking up the car. This is not unusual in Europe. If you are used to picking up a rental car in USA where you are in and out in a matter of minutes then you are in for a suprise.

Friendly, but no staff at the airport as advertised, no instructions on the shuttle offsite. When I called and figured it out myself, they were then 30 min late, shuttle was full, then had to wait again. On a Saturday morning, only one person working at desk, so slow, and 10 groups waiting.

Very unprofessional service and management. Beyond speechless! I have been a loyal Sixt customer for many years but I will never rent a car again from these dishonest people. They made false accusation, asking damages which never happen. I have been forced to take a lawyer, I proved my innocence through videos and photos as all the damages were already there the moment I rent the care. They ignored my emails, my lawyer emails, extending the whole case over 6months. At the end they admitted their faults (after a 6 months legal battle) but now they don t want to compensate me back for the damages they have caused to me and all the legal costs I had to take because of their false accusations. Stay away from this rental car! They are not professional
Qualidade, profissionalismo, simpatia.
A experiência foi traumática. Foi-me atribuído um dano ao veículo que eu jamais poderia ter causado, e as próprias fotografias que apresentaram provam que tenho razão, contudo fui cobrado em valor absurdo pela troca de uma peça estética, que se desprendeu após o manuseio do próprio funcionário na vistoria de devolução da viatura, sem ser dada chance de reparo, sem outros orçamentos, apenas me impuseram a cobrança do suposto valor para substituição. Nunca me mostraram a aquisição da peça para provar que realmente a compraram num fornecedor, ou seja, que a troca foi realmente necessária. Jamais em minha vida confiarei novamente nesta empresa.

Estou neste momento num processo de reclamação por me quererem imputar 1707 de custos em danos que não causei. Não recomendo, atua de má-fé para extorquir dinheiro aos clientes. Edit: após a minha reclamação, não me foram imputados quaisquer custos. No entanto, não fiquei livre da ansiedade de correr no risco de pagar este montante e do transtorno de ter que reclamar formalmente por algo que seria perfeitamente evitável caso tivesse havido rigor por parte da Sixt na avaliação dos danos quando me entregaram a viatura. Recomendo a qualquer cliente da Sixt que fotografe todo o veículo para ser proteger no futuro.

Voleurs! NE LOUEZ JAMAIS CHEZ EUX !! Jai loué une voiture de location durant mon voyage au Portugal, tout ce passé bien jusquau jour oû jai malencontreusement oublié mon téléphone ainsi que ma carte didentité dans la voiture de location que nous venions de rendre. Ayant vu mon téléphone sonner à larrière de la voiture, je savais que Sixt aller pouvoir me le renvoyer car un nettoyage complet de la voiture est prévu à chaque fois, mon téléphone et ma carte id allés donc être retrouvés par léquipe de nettoyage . Grosse erreur, après avoir contacté lagence sixt pendant une semaine, la police départementale ainsi que les objets perdus de laéroport aucunes trace de mon téléphone qui pourtant est localisé à laéroport de Lisbonne ( toujours chez sixt ) depuis le jour ou nous avons rendus le véhicule. Bizarrement, ayant rendus la voiture à 4:00h du matin et localisé à 20h ( preuve en photo) . Ce qui veut simplement dire quun membre du staff sixt Portugal a volé mon téléphone ainsi que ma carte didentité qui se trouvait dans la coque de protection. Aucune enquête de la part de sixt a été réalisée et nespérait surtout pas que la police départementale vous viendra en aide !!! CEST INADMISSIBLE, QUUNE ENTREPRISE VOL SES PROPRES CLIENTS!!!!

At first we had to wait nearly an hour to get to the counter. And then we couldnt get a car, because you ned a physical passport (drivers license is not enough). Nowhere on the website this is displayed. Also the staff is really unfriendly because they told us it was not able to cancel our reservation because it is not their problem. Definitely not coming to sixt again! Sadly, its not possible to give zero stars.

Reservation and payment made 2 months in advance. On the big day, they refused the reservation because we did not have a credit card. They tell us on the day that we need a credit card and not a debit card. No problems with other rental companies.

The negative impression about Sixt in Lisbon right from the start has been completely confirmed. In advance they said that dents or scratches are only valid from 3 cm and therefore are not marked in the protocol. Afterwards exactly these small dents or scratches will be accounted for. In addition, you get an old car that has many such small dents.

Took a very long time to be assisted on a Saturday morning.
Worst experience ever with car rental! Really a joke! We arrived on time to pick up our car and there were only 5 people before us. Still, it took more than 3 hours to get the car. Never seen anything like that before. Great also the shuttle to the airport, which seems to run every 45-60 minutes (other companies every 10 minutes). Nobody to ask information to and the call center only answering till friday. In the end we took a taxi because we thought there was no shuttle service. We finally managed to get the car and after less than 100km we had to stop to inflaye the tyres, as the car was flagging an issue with the pressure.
Tenho alugado muitas carrinhas de transporte na sixt nestes últimos 3 anos. Recente ao levantar uma carrinha, apontei um risco ao funcionário, e ele disse que o risco era demasiado pequeno para ser contabilizado, e portanto não registou. No dia seguinte entrego a carrinha, e outro funcionário faz o checkin. Ao ver o mesmo risco chama o funcionário que fez o checkout no dia anterior. Resultado, o funcionário do dia anterior diz que não se lembra do dano do dia anterior e agora querem cobrar perto de 400 pelo reparo do risco pré-existente. Portanto, com tantas Rent-A-Car que há por aí, escolham uma que pelo menos seja honesta.
Abholung am Flughafen Lissabon auf die Minute pünktlich. Fahrzeugübernahme war etwas langwierig, darum einen Stern weniger. Sehr freundliche Mitarbeiter, die einem keine Upgrades oder zusätzliche Versicherungen verkaufen wollten. Verantwortlich vor Ort: Flizzer Cars.

Out of all the Sixt Branches in Lisbon this one was the only one that looked decent according to the average reviews. Well, in reality it s even much worse than it looks. From the pickup at the airport (cold, impolite staff) till the end. I have been renting cars worldwide with Sixt but in Lisbon they have the gold medal for worst customer service ever. I would give 0 star if I could. The guys at the counter are rude AF, give you an attitude and only care about charging your card. The respect seems to be optional, instead what you get is passive aggressive people. I m not a petty customer, all I ask is basic customer service. But it seems that it s not part of their job. CONCLUSION: stay away from this company in Lisbon if you want to spend peaceful holidays.
O serviço do Emídio Santos foi espetacular, mesmo com uma fila grande de espera ele na mesma teve toda a paciência para nos explicar cada detalhe do aluguer! Simpatia ao alto nível, e claro, profissionalismo. Tudo de bom a ele, e a equipa sixt! (Mais staff não faria mal nenhum).

Finger weg !!! Hier wird mit unlauteren Mittel gearbeitet. Es wurden uns nachträglich 400 Euro belastet, für Beschädigung im Innenraum. Kein Übergabe Protokoll da Vollkasko aber sehr kleinliches Abnahme Protokoll. Es wurde auch bemängelt, dass das Fahrzeug sandig und staubig war..HALLO..Strandurlaub in Portugal. Wir haben bereits mehrfach bei Sixt Autos gemietet (Lissabon Flughafen) und hatten noch nie solche Probleme.
Fiquei à espera que me fossem buscar ao aeroporto de Lisboa, ninguém apareceu. Tive sorte , que um motorista de uma empresa concorrente é que me levou ao local onde se levanta as viaturas. Ligava ninguém atendia. A empresa é a FLIZZR, embora pertença à SIX RENT a CAR.

Avoid... Dont rent a car from Sixt Portugal. The chances of them ripping you off are huge. Ive rented a car several times and Ive never experienced such disrespect. They made up a scratch on the wheel to charge 150 euros. Be careful. Its a scam from start to finish.
Avaliação negativa pelo que aconteceu. A rentalcar fez a reserva encaminhando para a av da liberdade que apesar de aberta está fechada, os seguranças indicaram nos para ir ao aeroporto, fechado, os funcionários das outras entidades referiram prior Velho sendo que atendimento nulo. Mas fomos. Unico sitio que se não fosse o professionalismo dos funcionários estaempresa nem uma estrela deveria ter mais. Deveria comecar nas avaliações Google a introdução de notas negativas tais como as que temos nos nossos trabalhos diários e nos estudos. O primeiro carro a chegar a casa rebenta o que me vale foi desliga lo logo, o pneu estava inchado e rebentou devido a isso mas indicam que tenho que pagar esses custos. Ao abrirmos a mala detras estava cheia de areia e eu nem fui a praia. Retomei la e o outro caro ocorre o mesmo neste parecia mesmo uma faca mas nem com o carro parado estive, foi tudo na viagem do prior velho até casa que não tem terra batida - prior velho e santa iria da azoia-. Retomei e deram me duas novas viaturas em que nada se passou por isso racionalmente um perito deveria averiguar a situação dos pneus. Os carros entram, lavam rapidamente e despacham em analisam a sua situação mecânica. Por favor caso aluguem na sixt exijam a averiguação detudo no carro antes de o terem. Porque a mim querem me culpar por condições incorretas e ma mecanica da viatura.

Everything was fine. The car was great, clear and better than I expected. The check-in and check-out process was quite fast. The price was great and they did not charged absurd fees.

Muito mau atendimendo, principalmente pela má educação, mau cheiro e apresentação de um senhor fardado da empresa de nome Penim. Mal educado e a faltar ao respeito. A Rent a Car deve ser dele para faltar ao respeito da forma que foi aos clientes! Se eu fosse o dono pagava para o meter na rua. Isto no Prior Velho. Agradeço ao Sr. Emídio a simpatia e profissionalismo a demonstrar como se resolvem as situações e se é um bom representante de empresa. Só pelo mau trato desse Sr. Penim desaconselho vivamente o aluguer de viaturas nesta empresa.

The worst experience ever in Lisbon. Don t reserve on the Internet since the price at then end is double ! We payed 200euros for a small car in very bad condition. The car smelled very bad inside. In addition to that the staff was rude, only speak Portuguese and threat us to call the police. Definitely to avoid !
Scandaleux. Du personnel agressif qui vous oblige à prendre une assurance qui vous coûte le même prix que la location de la voiture et se lève pour vous menacer si vous contestez. Une petite voiture vous coûtera au final 120 euros la journée. A éviter absolument!! Cette agence n est pas sérieuse. Nous avons en plus du attendre une bonne demi heure pour avoir la voiture et on nous a demandé d attendre dehors. Du jamais vu...
Definitely not recommended ! Be careful on the insurance price since the price mentionned on the internet is different. My car was not ready on time, I wait 2 hours to get it.

Grosse arnaque à l aéroport de Lisbonne, vente forcée de l assurance omnium qui coûte +- 100 pour 3 jours, en faisant croire que c était le prix de la location du véhicule... Plus jamais !!! Leur technique : si vous prenez l omnium ils ne vérifient même pas le véhicule qui rentre. Si vous ne la prenez pas (comme un autre touriste que je suivais), le véhicule est examiné sous tous les angles et ils facturent des coups préexistants Plainte déposée lors de l enquête de satisfaction et aucun suivi depuis 1 mois.
Como todos os rent a cars os preços são muito elevados quando há um fim de semana prolongado. Aquando da entrega da viatura alugada o(s) funcionários são algo desconfiados
Basically a scam. They overcharge you for damages already on the car at rental time.
Bei Abholung wurde mit allen Tricks versucht doppelte Versicherungen, Tankservice, Road-Service dazuzuverkaufen. Nach einigen Mühen haben wir das bezahlte Auto dann doch ohne Aufpreis am Flughafen Porto bekommen. Die Rückgabe in Lissabon war eigentlich recht unkompliziert und problemlos - eine Bestätigung, dass alles ok ist hätte ich per Mail bekommen sollen - ich warte auch nach einer Woche noch auf die Mail - zum Glück habe ich das Tablet vom kontrollierenden Mitarbeiter abfotografiert. Wie schon ein wenig befürchtet, wurden vor einigen Tagen dann etwa 75 Euro abgebucht - ohne Rechnung und ohne Grund - ich warte jetzt auf Antwort von Sixt, Vermittler oder Kreditkartenausgeber. Resume - Finger weg, um nichts besser wie billige Diskobtanbieter.
