Good rental but no explanation of Tolls. The innocent tourist details are then sold to a debt collection company. Bill for £165 Very underhand fo not use.

Had a long tern rental from mid December until mid February. Excellent to deal with and very responsive to questions. Will certainly be using them again and recommend to other family and friends.

Update: BEWARE. As foreigner after a year I received fines in amount of 1800 euros for tollroads which I thought I have been payed, as Zitauto representative told that all tolls can be paid in CTT office by showing the car contract and licence number. It seems that there is other toll road companies which you can not pay in ctt office and for not knowing that now I need to pay 1800 eur. #### Best car rental prices in Algarve, rented for 2 months, wanted prolong, but already everything was booked. Great option, that they can deliver to your desired destination without any additional costs. Highly recommend!

Does exactly what you need. Great cars avaiable at the airport for v teasonabke prices. Used them twice would do again wish they were more widely avaiable

We rented a car from from Zitauto at Faro airport and found them excellent. We rented a Renault Captur and it was ideal for what we needed. The experience and price were very good. Easy pickup and drop off, they are located just outside the terminal in car park 2 and work out of the back of one of the parked cars. Will definitely use them again.

These guys are great!

Probably the easiest car hire experience we have ever had. Pickup was from car park 2 in Faro airport - super easy and had keys in hand within 10 mins. Drop off was even easier - literally dropped the keys off in the same car park and was good to go get our flight (took 10 seconds). Excellent value for money and very new and clean car (Opel Corsa). They now have the automatic Via Verde transponders installed in the car (costs 20 to hire) so hassle free driving across the algarve without having to worry about paying toll charges. The office is quick to respond and answer any questions you have. Will definitely use again.

NUNCA CONTRATEN A ESTA EMPRESA!!!! ayer llegué a las 00:00h y claramente ponía la hora de recogida y el punto exacto. Estuvimos esperando en el aeropuerto 1h yo y mis hijos pequeños, después del largo viaje y las horas que eran. Finalmente tuve que coger un taxi que nos llevó al hotel. Llamo hoy por la mañana y me dicen que no me pueden asegurar la hora de entrega del coche. Alguien puede confiar en una empresa así? NO ES FORMA DE TRATAR A LAS PERSONAS!!!

Just returned the car and unless any surprises afterward they were excellent and will use again. You collect and drop from the car park right next to taxis.they operate from their own car boots which was strange at first but worked well. Great little car at a very fair price. Easy to book and collect / return

I have been using Zitauto for many years and they came up trumps again when I needed them at very short-notice . Very helpful staff from start to finish and a special mention to Luis Silva who helped me out enormously and took a possibly stressful situation and sorted it without hitch. Highly recommended!!!

Cest vraiment du low cost, les prestations sont sans plus, la personne qui mattendait dans le parking de laéroport assis dans son coffre. Mais cela nest rien, il y a eu un petit souci et jétais obligé daller dans leur local à portimao. Ils sont très gentils avec les portugais et les touristes mais pas du tout avec, comme disait la patronne os português de França. Qui dailleurs parle très bien. Français mais pas avec moi. Niveau accueil du client, on fait mieux. A fuir

The only place to go

No problem with the hire car at the time, but (so far) have received 4x fines through the post for unpaid tolls dating back 6 years. A change to T&Cs which wasn t highlighted, and Zit made no attempt to contact and advise before selling the debt to a third party who add £££ admin fees on top!! Was a regular customer but will avoid in future, disappointing.

Been using this company for years, always been amazing quick handover pleasant staff, have just requested a price for this year.

Ive been renting of zitauto a number of years now I never had a problem with them they dont go over the car with a fine tooth comb when you return the car they even sent us a Christmas card i have no problem in recommending them

Made a booking 4 months before my trip. I called 2 weeks before to confirm and was told that they didnt have any cars - sorry, we should have let you know. Complete timewasters. I am now shelling out an extra 300 euros to find an average car on short notice.

Very good service ! I was afraid not to get the car because I only have a French debit card. They just took a pre autorisation for caution with my French debit card and I easily get the car. Alexandro and her colleague (Suzie ?) were very nice ! I will keep this address for my next travel ! Many thanks!

Went to faro for brothers wedding. In June 22. Zitauto we re exceptional. My sister hired separately from them and had an equally easy straight forward experience. I m a bit slow on the up take so did have an issue locating them at faro airport, so I rang. They were patient and directed me whilst on the call. I was worried, as we all are, as to whether a huge chunk of money might be taken on return for a random issue, but I had no reason to worry. Absolutely recommend this company without fear. I will definitely be using them again. Well done Zitauto.

Perfect service, very affordable. Second time I have used them, recently rented a week Peugeot 2008 from them for EUR220. Whilst not having all the trimmings of a the big rentals firms like Avis/Hertz etc, they make it all up in excellent value for money. And yes it was a new and clear car and no agressive upselling to premium cars, insurances etc. You book online and pay the rental fee onsite in cash. They will of course take a credit card number, but no provisional holds are made on them. They operate out of Parking 2 in Faro Airport so do not proceed when you arrive the Rental Car centre as this is only where the Hertz/Avis etc are operating from. They effectively operate from the back of car in Parking 2 but 100% trustworthy. For return again too park into Parking 2 and member of staff quickly deals with the paperwork. Great service, excellent VFM and friendly service.

DO NOT HIRE CAR SEATS FROM ZITAUTO. We recently hired car seats for our 4 month old baby and two year old. Upon collecting the car, we immediately raised concerns around the state of the car seats - they were incredibly old, worn and, in the case of the baby seat, seemed very unstable and unsafe. To cut a very long story short, after multiple emails, calls and return journeys to the airport to collect alternative seats from Zit (which were just as bad), we ended up returning the seats to Zit and hiring much better seats from Baby on Board. Zit have been incredibly unhelpful in this situation, and have not responded to emails requesting some kind of refund given that we returned the seats less than half way into the hire period. This does not even take into account the cost of two return journeys to the airport to pick up alternative seats from Zip and then return them, as well as the cost of hiring alternative seats. All round, a very expensive mistake!

Perfect, very comfortable experience. We arrived a bit early (around 45 min before arranged pick up) but this was no problem and within 10min we were underway in a clean and new Renault Captur. There were no problems with the car and after 3,5 weeks the drop off went just as smoothly as the pick up. 100% recommended and competitively priced.

Easy communication in good English, quick inquiry respond, easy pick-up and return, no hidden fees, proper cars, for a new Renault Clio rental from Friday 5pm till Monday 5pm we have paid 100 EUR incl a toddler seat which I had to install by myself. At pick-up the fuel tank was 1/4 full, thats no good, the tank has to be completely full at pick-up.

CAR/ZITAUTO Rent a car is one of the worst car rental experience I have ever had. It amounts to cheating customers for additional insurance although we had a zero liability insurance bought and paid for the rental we had. They wanted to force us to buy additional insurance, while we had the insurance with policy in our hand. We didnt get the car because we refused to have in addition to have paid for the insurance to block almost 3000 EUR on our credit card account... So that they find reasons to take more money out of our pockets. I would never ever book a car at this company CAR/ZITAUTO Rent a car, and also told my friends and relatives visiting the beautiful Portugal to never ever book a car there. In addition the service was extreme arrogant and unfriendly and I was lucky to find an additional car company, where everything including the insurance situation and the service, was no problem...

We don t recognise the poor reviews. We have been renting from Zitauto for several years. This year we collected and dropped off right outside the airport. Staff were very quick polite and efficient. They did not try to sell extra insurance. Our car was a practically new Clio. Also a very competitive price too. Hope to rent again next September.

Ive used Zitauto for years and they just keep getting better. They are fantastic value with an excellent choice of good quality cars. The staff are so helpful and friendly too. I wont use anyone else when visiting the Algarve.

Probably the best rental company Ive ever used. The staff is so friendly, helpful and forthcoming. There are no hidden fees, and the prices are very competitive plus the process of picking up/ dropping off the car is fast and easy. Would definitely use their services again whenever I come to Algarve.

Best car hire company, I have ever used.

Awful! Do not even consider using them. They are dishonest and will use any trick to rinse you of your money. Had used them for 2yrs previously with no issues but can only assume they are under new ownership as the service stunk this time! We didnt spot the most minuscule scratch in the bumper on pickup. 250 in their pocket with them freely admitting they wouldnt fix the issue and this was a normal business expense for them. A slow puncture appeared after a few days and required repeated topping up at petrol stations. This was our problem apparently... Unfortunately, we left the car documents in the apartment. Still had family members there so could return them the following day for us. They said no rush so was agreed to be returned 11 days later when they were visiting the airport. Gave me written confirmation they would refund the 130 charge when this was done. Documents were returned and my elderly mother was confronted with an aggressive member of staff who point blank refused to issue the refund. Seriously, for the sake of a few quid you dont want to deal with cowboys like this. Take your money elsewhere and use one of the many other car rental options at Faro. Good luck

Very disappointed. Arrived around 8.30pm with two small children (3 and 4), found the van and filled out the paperwork. The car was delivered quickly, but the car seats I had paid for were not fitted, just loose on the back seat. Had to try and fit them in a dark car park (it was November) which was quite difficult, but when I tried to fit my children in, the seats were not secure and I couldnt strap them in. The employee at Zitauto was unhelpful and quite rude. I eventually worked out, using the torch on my phone, that both of the seats were broken, so had to remove my children, remove the seats and wait for new ones. When they arrived, I once again I had to fit them in a dark car park, so it was nearly an hour before I could leave for my hotel. On the plus side the car was fine and the woman who was there when I returned the car was great. Ill be using a different company next time we visit.

Fikk kontakt rundt lunsj dagen derpå etter å ha ringt 4 ganger og sendt mail, ble da lovet å få bilen levert på hotellet i.l.a. dagen. Dagen gikk prøvde å ringe 7 ganger innen åpningstid for oppdatering, ingen svarer. Sendt ny mail og fortsatt ingen svar og ingen bil 1 døgn etter booket tid. Skulle helst satt 0 stjerner her!

Car broke down. Bad customer service, the person did not speak English (or did not want to help). Their insurance doesnt cover for assistance. So if you plan to rent a car with this company, pray to not breakdown. Because it will cost you a lot in Taxi....
