Alamo Rent A Car em Santa Cruz

Alamo is part of Guerin rent a car, they are both at the same counter. Had a pleasant experience with this company, had to deny the insurance, took photos, brought back the car with full gas tank and had no problem after I returned the car. They are pretty transparent and recommend!

Pay attention when you bring back your car, if the gas tank fuel level is not showing on the dashboard gauge as full, passing the F sign, you will be charged! We had it touching the F sign, and they said is not full enough, and charge us 36 euro!

Worst car rental experience and I travel for work and am 56 years old. Beware of a guy named Paolo who tried to charge us for mysterious interior spots in both cars we rented despite no photos to show they weren’t there. FYI the car was full of dirt spots and the exterior was very scratched up. I had photos of the exterior but the staff did not do an interior walk through nor did I think that would be necessary. He was also a complete ahole. Lesson learned. Try another vendor at this airport.

I booked a compact car and they provided a station wagon which was much too large for driving around Funchal, while adequate for the rest of the island. Staff was unable to correct the issue and said they could only provide upgrades, not correct errors.

Very friendly and courteous staff both in the office and at the pick-up and drop-off point. Thanks to the many self-check-in counters, there was no queue and you could confirm your booking conveniently and clearly :)
