Excellent! Definitely I recommend it. They provided us the car without a credit card (while many other places asked for it) and only asking for 300€ deposit that as soon as you give the car in the same conditions they have given to u, they transfer it. The car was in perfect conditions and cleaned. It allowed us to go through all the high hills without any problem. Very fast pick-up Thank you! And a special thanks to Ruben, which was very very kind and helpful.

Had a good experience with Sixt Madeira Airport! Was served by Catia. No pressure in getting the insurance. Car was Ford Fiesta, and clutch was 100% perfect. Engine was powerful enough to go high hills and everything went well. Returning car was seamless as well. Deposit deducted only 300 euro (without insurance). Overall recommended for a car rental!

I had an extremely disappointing experience with Sixt that left me feeling frustrated and unfairly treated. I rented a car from their Madeira location, and on the last day of my rental, the car completely failed to start. Despite trying multiple times and wasting valuable time before my flight, the car was unusable. Due to this issue, I had no choice but to leave the car near my accommodation instead of returning it to the airport as agreed. I then had to pay for a taxi out of pocket to catch my flight, which added unnecessary stress to an already chaotic situation. To make matters worse, Sixt later charged me €300, accusing me of “abandoning the vehicle.” I repeatedly explained the situation, but their team refused to acknowledge the car’s malfunction. They even claimed the vehicle had no issues despite it being under inspection for 40 days! If there were truly no problems, why did it require such an extensive inspection? I provided evidence, including witness testimonies and video proof of the car not starting, but my claims were completely ignored. Their handling of the situation was dismissive, and their communication left much to be desired. This experience has been both stressful and expensive, and Sixt’s unwillingness to take responsibility for their malfunctioning car or refund the unjustified charge has shattered my trust in the company. If you’re considering renting from Sixt, be cautious. They not only failed to provide reliable service but also penalized me for their own shortcomings. This was a deeply disappointing experience, and I cannot recommend them.

Unmöglich. Very chatty Lady calling me sweetie, sweetheart, sweetie 100 times, talking very very fast (my english is pretty decent) so I didn't understand half of it. Trying to upsell me which I did not appreciate. So she was pissed. Car has a lot of dents and scratches. I took photos. Got supercover so wth. A little bit of respect for a customer, please! Platinum member btw. Total fail.

Would definitely recommend Sixt at Madeira Airport. Easy check in and collection process. We were offered an upgrade to Automatic (which was needed on island) for a small fee. I was also able to add an additional driver at check in for a charge. The car itself was not in the best condition and had done around 50000kms. But thankfully they were very honest with all the existing damage. We had no issues during our rental and the hand back process was very smooth and they confirmed all was okay with the car there and then. With the deposit to be returned. Overall a great experience.

Wir haben über den ADAC bei Sixt ein Auto gemietet. Das Auto an sich war okay. Allerdings wurde bei der Anmietung versucht uns zusätzlich eine Versicherung anzudrehen, obwohl wir über den ADAC einen kompletten Schutz haben. Das kenne ich so nicht von anderen Vermietungen. Der eigentliche Witz ist aber, dass wir eine Woche nach Rückgabe eine Mail bekommen haben in der stand dass ein Schaden festgestellt wurde. Der Schaden ist aber nicht benannt, und im Übergabeprotokoll ist auch nichts vermerkt, wir haben das Auto einwandfrei übergeben. Habe die Sache an den ADAC gemeldet. Gestern bekam ich eine Mail von Sixt Madeira die gar nicht für mich bestimmt war und mich nicht betrifft. Mit einem angeblichen Schaden eine Woche nach Vermietung und einer Rechnung über fast 3000 Euro. Alle Unterlagen der Vermietung sind als Anhang beigefügt und ich kann komplett die Daten der betroffenen Person einsehen. Seriös ist das leider alles nicht, ich bin froh über den ADAC gemietet zu haben. Finger weg!!!!

Always this hustle to a more expensive car! I m a business traveler with SIXT and they normally give me a upgrade example. But this is to much and inappropriate. This time the Clio that we preordered was not capable to drive in the mountains at all, we needed a bigger engine etc etc. After a 4h drive from home, 6h flight you are not really up to a hassle for a car that by the way worked really well after all. Also when you return the car DON T park it where it says RETURN CAR ! That is not the return parking, it s on the opposite side unmarked. Fixs this SIXT and I may choose you next time.

Ich würde höllisch aufpassen, wenn ich hier ein Auto buche. Ich habe im Internet vorab mit meiner Kreditkarte den Mietwagen gebucht. Als wir dann ankamen wurden wir erst weggeschickt, da wir 30min vor Mietbeginn da waren, um schon mal alles zu klären. Als wir dann wieder kamen wurde uns einfach der Mietwagen verweigert, da die Kreditkarte, mit welcher vorher gebucht wurde vor Ort nicht akzeptiert wird.... inzwischen war es jedoch auch zu spät, um nochmal umzubuchen. Nun muss ich auf die Kulanz des Internetportals hoffen, über welches der Mietwagen gebucht wurde, um mein Geld wieder zu bekommen. Zudem mussten wir vor Ort ein halb so großes Auto mit kaum Versicherungen für mehr als den doppelten Preis mieten...... Ich würde hier ganz klar die Finger von Sixt lassen

Fahrzeug wurde im Januar 24 für den 29.06.24 irrtümlicherweise für 11.30 gebucht, obwohl der Flieger aus Deutschland üblicherweise erst gegen 16 Uhr landet und auch noch Verspätung hatte. Als wir den Wagen dann gegen 17 Uhr abholen wollten, gab es angeblich keinen mehr, obwohl der ganze Parkplatz voll stand. Das nenn ich mal Kundenservice und Flexibilität, alle Hochachtung.

I had a terrible experience with a rental car from here. The brakes were faulty, squealing, and unreliable, and the car also died in the middle of the road, nearly causing a serious accident with a bus putting my family in danger. I chose sixt for safety and reliability over cheaper local options, but they failed to meet basic safety standards. Very disappointed and would not recommend until they improve their vehicle maintenance and prioritize customer safety.

I cannot stress enough do not hire a car through this rental company. We were given a vehicle with faulty brake lights, and despite raising serious safety concerns, we received no response while the car was in our possession. Additionally, we were charged over 500 in unexpected fees beyond the original invoice amount. The customer service is absolutely terrible. Do yourself a favor and choose a different rental car provider.

Deceitful, slimy and the worst customer service I have ever experienced in my life from all levels of engagement with the company. The incompetence of each staff member was simply astonishing and their inability to address even the simplest question left me baffled. When charged for a scuff on the wheel arch, they provided an invoice which we agreed to pay, however when checking the charge on our account they had charged 547 euros above that agreed upon price with no explanation as to why. This, in combination with the fact that they gave us a faulty car and did not address our safety concerns proved to us that they are more concerned about profitability than customer safety. Would recommend going through any company that isn t SIXT, I certainly know that I will never trust this company again.

Poor collaboration with Booking.com, that shows car-models that are not available. I thought I booked a 1l engined VW UP with sufficient horsepower for Madeiras mountains, but when I showed up was offered a Fiat Panda with a smaller engine and they straight away asked if I wanted to upgrade to a Clio with a larger engine for 10 EUR extra per day. I bargained that I already booked a car with a larger engine and didn t want to pay extra even though the car was larger and therefore in a different category in Sixt s system. I argued that the cars might be similar in size but not in functionality and they didn t budge. The couple standing next to us said they experienced the same thing as us. So I called Booking.com and got a refund from and went over to Europcar instead. So overall poor experience and poor service.

Hatte das Auto im Vorfeld gebucht und konnte es ohne Probleme direkt am Flughafen abholen, die Mitarbeiterin am Schalter war super freundlich und ich hatte direkt gute Laune. Der Wagen wurde mir dann am Parkplatz gezeigt und welche Schäden schon alle im Protokoll waren. Kurz darauf konnte ich auch schon los fahren und als ich ihn wieder zurück brachte ging auch dies reibungslos über die Bühne. Nächstes mal wieder mit SIXT :-)

Verstehe die negativen Kommentare mancher anderen nicht. Habe selbst sehr gute Erfahrungen gemacht. Schalter im Terminal ist kinderleicht zu finden. Alle Mitarbeiter konnten sehr gutes Englisch. Gebucht vorab über Booking.com, Gespräch am Schalter war unglaublich freundlich, mir wurde nichts aufgedreht, im Gegenteil, hab sogar eine Aktion erhalten sodass wir das Auto nicht vollgetankt zurück geben mussten. Auto war ein Captur, war sauber und ist perfekt für Madeira gewesen. War eine moderne Ausstattung und hatte ein Navi, obwohl wir keins gebucht hatten. Abgabe war auch einwandfrei. Direkt am Flughafen. Sehr freundlich und unkompliziert. Haben mehr als genügend Mitarbeiter vor Ort gehabt. Waren im Dezember dort.

Eine sehr enttäuschende Erfahrung: Es werden untermotorisierte Autos vermietet und man wird dazu genötigt, auf eine höhere Kategorie zu upgraden. Laut Aussage des Mitarbeiters vor Ort sei der Fiat Tipo der einzige verfügbare Wagen in der Mittelklasse und dieser sei für die Berge Madeiras nicht geeignet.

I regret renting a car at sixt. This is my second bad experience with this company in different countries. They gave me a nissan Micra, which is perfectly fine. When I took the car out of the airport, Ive noticed the breaks werent functioning well so I returned the car. The guy told me the breaks are new and its normal. I went to the city, with not so well functioning brakes so I was driving slow in order to not break hard. There was massive break smell in the car. So I brought it to the city center location. The guy said its new and normal. Just put the gear to L when going down and they can not change my car there. That I had to bring it to the airport if I wanted to have it changed. For the other two days Ive avoided hills ( almost impossible in Madeira). Overall terrible experience. They were cheaper than others, that was the only plus. Based on my experience now and before, I do not recommend this company. Spend a bit more and go with higher rated firms.

Lagence naccepte que les carte credit alors que mon decouvert autorisé est de 2.000 euros. Lagence refuse que je paye une caution par carte. Serviço terrível. Eu e o meu namorado entregámos o carro dia 20/12. O empregado com o qual fizemos a entrega do carro disse que tínhamos provocado uma bolha no pneu da frente do lado esquerdo e perguntámos-lhe se tinha visto as fotos do dia em que recolhemos o carro (15/12) ao qual o empregado (de seu nome Rogério) disse que não - mostrámos-lhe a foto do dito pneu no dia em que levantámos o carro e a bolha já lá se encontrava - o Rogério disse que realmente parecia que a bolha já lá estava, mas mesmo assim reportou o dano que causámos e no dia 23/12 a sixt envia um e-mail a querer cobrar 300 sem fotos. Respondemos no mesmo dia, não nos respondaram e dia 26/12 retiram-nos o dinheiro da conta. Falta de profissionalismo tanto do Rogério, como da Sixt, por não verificarem o estado do carro antes de ser entregue. Felizmente temos fotos do antes e recorreremos da situação até que esta esteja resolvida. Não voltaremos a alugar carro com esta empresa, nem recomendo que o façam.

De vrais arnaqueurs. Ils me disent quils nacceptent pas ma carte pré payé MasterCard.(Qui fonctionne très bien chez leurs concurrents). La personne derrière le comptoir na même pas voulu essayer la carte!!! Très désagréable ! Nous avons perdu largent de nôtre réservation. Fuyez ! We were declined a prepaid rental over a technicality, my credit card was about to expire but had already been renewed (same 16 digits, just different validity) and i had both of them with me. The preauthorization worked on the old card but the system declined the rental anyway, The lady then tried the new card, but of course it didnt work as its validity would kick in only when the new one would expire. We explained to them over and over that it was the same card, but as absurd as it might sound, although my card expires on 2028, they refused to provide the service we had paid for cause the card had less than 1 month validity. By the way, the following day we rented a car using the same card they refused. Sixt, never again. To the social media department, before asking for more details, please state what you can really do for us, cause all we are seeking is a full refund.

Extremely unpleasant front desk guy named Ruben. I had booked the car and insurances based on my needs. He was extremely aggressively trying to upsell me to the next best car as the small fiat Punto we will give you is not able to drive up the hills in Madeira . I said no and he got very unfriendly and angry pushing several times that I should listen to him trying to make me afraid of getting stuck on the hills. Having said that, of course the car was able to bring me everywhere - even the remote hiking spots. Car was ok, very old, but did what it was supposed to.

The pickup procedure was a bit slow, but with a friendly clerk so that part was ok. The state of the car was not good at all. Breaks making noise, stains on the seats. I got an oil warning after three days (after a total of mabye 80 minutes of drivning), stopped and saw that the oil needed to be refilled (oil level just below the lower line on the stick). No answer from Sixt customer service number after 10 min and no call-back despite the automatic voice telling me that the call is important and we will call you back.... Since I didnt wanted to waste my vacation on the phone with Sixt I found a gas station that carried the specific oil needed and paid for it. Then a few days later I got an tire pressure warning. Stopped, checked and pumped the tires. 2,1-2,2 bar in all four tires when there should have been 2,8-2,9 bar. I have rented cars many times before but really never experienced such poor performance.

Generally pleasant experience, the boys at the pickup were cooperative, patient, and polite during pickup and return. The waiting times also did not take long. The car left a bit to be desired - a lot of damages to account for so you have to be very photo-intensive before renting to cover yourself from any hidden damages. This is where employee patience was most relevant. Brakes were in questionable shape, so at times in the windy and hilly roads it was hard to trust the car. This was reported upon return. Everything else experience-wise was ok.

Never more!! I had a very bad experience in April 2024. I did not have with me the driving license and they did not accept in any way to add an additional driver. They did not give thd car without refunding anything. In the same trip i did not have any issues with other compagnie. The broker Autoeurope could not help me at all (not any more with them !) Szuper autokölcsönz , remek kiszolgálás, kedves ügyintéz k. Csak jó tapasztalatunk volt. Az els re kapott autónk szinte azonnal check engine lámpát villantott, visszavittük a kölcsönz be az autót, majd pár percen belül az egyik ügintéz egy marék autókulccsal jött, hogy akkor válasszunk nagyjából bármilyen autót. Ez egy kedves gesztus volt, és jól esett. Az autót visszavinni is pár perc volt, szóval tényleg minden gördülékenyen ment. Legközelebb is innen kölcsönzünk autót.

Quick and easy check in process with Rueben who made the experience great! Edit*** they provided me a faulty vehicle which had a catastrophic failure within 27 km resulting in the car being no longer drivable. They provided a replacement car which I drove almost 200km across the island without any issues. After their investigation they deemed that I misused the first vehicle and charged me $1700USD. They refuse to discuss the matter and don t take any logic into the discussion. I ve had their investigation report reviewed by an independent mechanic shop who also agrees the vehicle was faulty to begin with. This SIXT location is a scam and I would avoid at all costs. Rent from the smaller local car rentals instead this joke a of a SIXT location. It ll save you a headache!

Katastrophe.. Würde dort nicht nochmal buchen. Vorab: ich habe mich für sixt entschieden, obwohl es weitaus günstigere Angebote gegeben hat. Service und Qualität kostet halt mehr dachte ich, aber ich wurde eines besseren belehrt. Aber der Reihe nach. Im Terminal haben wir erstmal ca. 30 Minuten gewartet, bis wir an der Reihe waren. Soweit auch alles super. Netter Service. Vertrag unterschrieben, alle Infos bekommen, fehlt nur noch der Schlüssel. Den gibts unten am Auto. Aha, aber sollte uns recht sein. Unten angekommen und den Vertrag gezeigt, wollte ein Kollege sich um das Auto kümmern und wir sollten warten. Nachdem immer mehr Leute, die nach uns gekommen sind vom gleichen Kollegen bedient wurden und mit dem Auto losfahren konnten, während wir immernoch gewartet haben, bin ich mal fragen gegangen. Ich sollte dann halt weiter warten hieß es. Naja... Der Kollege kommt gleich, sucht noch das Auto. Er kam dann zurück, ohne auto und hat dann wieder andere kunden bedient. Sehr toll.... Ich bin dann erneut hingegangen und habe nochmal nachgefragt, um dann zu erfahren, das das Auto nicht da ist. Und das hätte man nicht eher sagen können. Egal, gibts halt ein Upgrade. Aber nicht bei sixt, da gibts ein downgrade und man wird noch blöd angemacht. Ein Upgrade, für das ich sogar gezahlt hätte, war dann auch auf einmal nicht mehr möglich. Häh?? Wo gibts sowas? Das Auto war zwar kleiner, aber trotzdem ok. Der Service allerdings ließ deutlich zu wünschen übrig. Kenne ich anders. Die Rückgabe kenne ich auch freundlicher. Kein wie hat es ihnen gefallen, alles ok mit dem auto. Nix, stattdessen alles haarklein begutachtet. Es war aber kein Schaden vorhanden. nach der Vorgeschichte hätte es mich aber auch nicht gewundert, wenn er was gefunden hätte. Alles in allem sehr schade.

Sehr freundliche Mitarbeiter*innen. Die Abholung des Fahrzeuges verlief reibungslos und der Zustand des Fahrzeuges (Schäden etc.) war digital erfasst und man klärt vor Fahrtantritt mit einem Mitarbeiter alle diese Punkte ab. Das kostet Zeit, ist meiner Meinung nach aber sehr wichtig um im Nachhinein abgesichert zu sein. Die Mitarbeiter*innen sind diesbezüglich sehr akkurat. Auch die Rückgabe verlief reibungslos und schnell. Der Zustand des Autos war Innen wie Außen sehr gut, sauber und gepflegt, wie man es bei Sixt erwartet. Wartezeit jeweils 0-5 Minuten.

ARNAQUE ! À FUIR ! Lors de notre location, tout sest plutôt bien passé... JUSQUÀ ce que nous tombions en panne avec le véhicule pour un défaut dinjection (message affiché sur le véhicule). Nous avions été rassuré à lagence par lensemble de léquipe que cétait un problème courant sur lîle de Madère par lorganisation géographique (fort dénivelé) ainsi quavec ce type de véhicule ( pourtant proposé en majorité dans cette agence, allez comprendre), et que RIEN ne nous sera facturé. Nous voilà maintenant prélevés de plus de 2000 euros au sujet dun pseudo endommagement dembrayage 1 mois après la restitution du véhicule. Ils accusent dun mauvais usage du véhicule par nos soins et nous facturent une pièce dusure alors que le véhicule roulait à une moyenne de 70/km par jour et avait déjà plus de 40 000km au compteur. Bien que nous refusions ces accusations calomnieuses et donc de payer ces frais, nous avons été prélevés sans même avoir été prévenus et sans intervention dun expert. Cette agence est malhonnête et insultante par la façon dont nous avons pu être traités avec la fin de cette expérience A FUIR

I often rent cars from Sixt for business purposes, which is why we deliberately chose Sixt also this time. We did not expect an old, completely run-down car with a heap of damage (like just one example attached) from Dacia, know to be the worst in terms of both safety and comfort on the whole European market. This car doesnt even had a navigation system or Android Auto, which makes getting around significantly harder (and contradicts the booking). We would have gladly taken a different car, as anything would have been better than this piece of junk. We asked both the sales agent and the man at the pick-up for a different car. Neither showed any interest, and they gave snobbish and, in part, rude responses. As a result, our vacation started on a very sour note.

You can do an easy search for the word scammers and I believe you can find 31 instances of scammers on this company and now there is going to be 32. We booked an automatic SUV car for 4 days and when we arrived at the airport, they said only a MANUAL COMPACT was available, and that the car we got was just not available as it is popular in Madeira. We suggested to amend our booking to pick up tomorrow instead as there is clear availability of automatic SUVs on their website but the salesperson proceeded to make a few calls and then said he found an automatic SUV car but it will cost a WHOPPING 85EUROS A DAY EXTRA ON TOP OF WHAT WE HAVE ALREADY PAID to get that car but he was suuuuuuper generous and will only charge us 45EUROS - WHAT. A. STEAL. All this when an average car costs 35EUR/day on their website, and the difference between an automatic car and manual is 4/5EUR a day. He kept saying we could book online but he will not be able to guarantee whether a car will be available tomorrow, leaving us with absolutely no choice but to pay that EYE WATERING SUM ON TOP OF WHAT WE HAVE ALREADY PAID. This obviously soured the start of our holiday. And icing on the cake is that VOILA, our very expensive car rental broke down after 1 day of driving - as we were driving downhill, we got a system error sign and smelled smoke, so we quickly got down and saw smoke coming out of the front of the car, and it seemed like the brakes were burning. This is EXTREMELY DANGEROUS as if they had failed we couldve plunged down the mountain, or the car couldve been set on fire. We wasted one day of our 4 day holiday because our car had to get towed then we had to go back to the airport to pick up a new car and then drive back to our original destination, which was a COMPLETE. WASTE. OF TIME. Final strike is that of course we complained about all this but SIXT refuses to respond to any of our queries on the grounds that they are investigating but it has now been TWO WHOLE WEEKS, way beyond their 7 day response guarantee but we have heard nothing. Absolutely appalling. Do not rent from this agency. I would give minus 5 stars if possible. UPDATE: Their investigation was an absolute JOKE - they came back to say they are not claiming US for damage WOW when we are the ones claiming against them for damage due to the fault of their cars. They concluded after their month long investigation that the brakes had no issue! The same brakes that the towing company confirmed were spoiled and circled on their review sheet when they towed the car away. We followed up with evidence of the towing company s remarks on the brakes and have yet to hear back. Please, whatever you do, avoid these scammers.

GROSSE ARNAQUE !! A FUIRE !! Nous avons loué une voiture qui tombe en panne au bout de 3 jours à cause de lembrayage qui a cramé. On appelle lagence, la dame qui nous raccroche au nez par perte de patiente lorsquon lui donne notre localisation. Sympa. MAIS SURTOUT : Nous avions lassurance tout risque qui nous couvrait du moindre problème, La panne nétait pas de notre faute, donc ce nétait doublement pas à nous de payer les réparations ! >>> 2 semaines après nous recevons un mail nous demandant de rembourser presque 3 000 pour les réparations !!!!!!!!! (En plus ils nous avaient bien dis sur place que ce ne serait pas à notre charge) Mais ils ont rêvé ou quoi ? Quel culot !!! Sans parler du fait que lendroit où nous sommes tombés en panne nous a bien mis en danger (voie rapide...) Au moins on ne tombe pas dans le panneau car cette arnaque nest clairement pas crédible. La preuve en photo. Donc surtout ne louez pas chez eux ! Ils vont essayer de vous la mettre à lenvers et ils méritent de faire faillite ces sales timbrés !

Worst rental experience Ive had. Started with the long queue and attempted upsell at the desk. They tried to talk me into a better car. The one they gave me broke down on the first day. Couldnt organise a replacement until late on Day 2 and only because I had to chase them. Still charged me for a car I didnt have. Shockers! Part 2: instead of getting a refund for the days I did not have a car, they sent me a bill for nearly 2000 to repair the clutch!!! After 30kms of driving apparently I had caused the damage!! Checked the internet reviews and this is apparently a well known scam with Sixt. Beware dealing with these people!

Bonjour, nous naimons pas nous plaindre et nous sommes des clients plutôt tolérants (nous travaillons nous-mêmes en contact avec une clientèle). Cependant, notre arrivée au comptoir de SIXT situé dans laéroport de Funchal na pas été une bonne expérience pour nous (nous précisons quil ny a eu aucun problème pour le comptoir de retrait dans le parking où les agents ont été courtois, nous précisons bien quil sagit du comptoir à lintérieur de laéroport). Un monsieur, qui parle un très bon français (si nous pouvez fuyez-le), nous a accueilli avec des méthodes commerciales à la limite de la légalité. Il nous précise tout dabord que nous bénéficions dun upgrade sur le véhicule : nous avons un modèle de voiture supérieure (modèle sport) à celle que nous avons réservée. Nous sommes surpris. Il nous propose ensuite de payer un supplément pour une assurance supérieure. Il nous montre un document sur lequel est présenté un tableau qui indique lensemble des dommages couverts par lassurance plus chère, en comparaison avec lassurance basique qui ne coûte rien. Ce document ne présente AUCUN montant forfaitaire pour lassurance supérieure, il sagit dun tableau générique. Il nous dit que le montant est de 345 , soit le montant exact de la réservation que nous avons faîtes. Cela signifie que le montant est appliqué selon une méthode douteuse, ce qui est interdit. Soit vous appliquez un montant forfaitaires, soit en pourcentage du montant de la réservation. Dans touts les cas, cela doit être indiqué et porté à la connaissance du client. Devant notre refus courtois, ce monsieur a insisté avec agressivité quatre fois pour que nous prenions cette assurance. Nous avons tenons bon et nous avons simplement avancé le dépôt de garantie. Etrangement, la voiture upgradée nétait tout dun coup plus disponible et nous avions le véhicule que nous avions réservé ! Quel client aujourdhui en 2024 tolère ENCORE ce genre de méthode commerciale ? Vraiment ? Un signalement a été fait au niveau européen et jencourage qui conque à y procéder.

The case is not closed, but I am not surprised the most frequent word in the review here is scammers. Ill escalate as long as it takes. Bad for sixts reputation, bad for the islands reputation. Worst Car Rental Experience Beware of Deposit Scams! I had the absolute worst experience with this car rental company. They charged me a ridiculous 120 from my deposit for a supposed missing parking ticket, which I never even received or was aware of! This is clearly just an excuse to scam customers out of their money. Their customer service is unhelpful, dismissive, and refuses to provide any proper evidence to back up their claim. Its obvious they are running a deposit scam to squeeze extra money from unsuspecting customers. If you value your hard-earned money and dont want to deal with dishonest practices, stay far away from this company. There are plenty of honest car rental services out there this is NOT one of them.

First of all: The feedback relates to the pick-up at the counter. Everything was fine with the rented car during our tour. It was in very good condition and clean. Now to the pick-up itself: I was talked into a higher vehicle category (advantage: more horsepower) and additional services (including roadside assistance). After 8 days on the island with the car, I can say that I was very annoyed about this afterwards, as this was associated with higher costs and, in our experience, the upgrade was never necessary. I should have simply said no at the counter. But the employee at the counter made me feel very bad if I did not use this offer. Stick with the car and services you booked in advance and everything will be fine.

Absolutely horrible experience! The car they gave me had many scratches and dents; it looked like it had been in an accident. The car broke down in a tunnel. I called the airport Sixt number on my contract and the recording said it was not a working number. I called roadside assistance and they said it was not a working number. I called the international number and after 30min on hold my call was disconnected by Sixt. I had to ride in a police car to the police station to get a ticket for my broken down car, then paid 100 to have a taxi take me to the airport to get a new car. Per the company policy they cannot give out a new car unless they have the old one. The workers tried to call roadside assistance to tow the car and they did not answer them either. They had to call someone else, and then finally I got a new car. I lost an entire evening/night because of it. The broken down car had my luggage in it the police told me to leave in the car. Two days later I still do not have my luggage and of course the Sixt numbers are not working. This will be the last time I rent from Sixt.

We reserved a car, the company employee strongly forced us on buying extended insurance (which is expensive). My husband said that standard insurance is suitable for us. But the employee said that for the slightest scratch we will have to pay big fine. It was even funny how crazy is situation was, then another employee came up and told us to stop smiling in very rude form. They said they cancelled the reservation but the money still hasnt been returned! even after calls to support. I do not recommend this company!

NO ALQUILEIS EN SIXT MADEIRA Tuve una pésima experiencia, como se ve reflejado en otras reseñas son unos estafadores. En el mostrador te mienten diciendo que las carreteras de madeira son horribles para que compres el seguro más caro (que va a parte de lo que ya has pagado por el propio alquiler). Por otro lado, se nos perdio una tarjeta para entrar y salir del parking del aeropuerto y nos retiraron de la cuenta 150 sin ningun tipo de explicacion, por una tarjeta de plástico que como mucho vale 10 . También nos mandaron un mail diciendo que habiamos perdido papeles de la guantera, cuando nosotros ni los tocamos, y al pedir explicaciones por email no se nos especificaba que se habia perdido, lo que también nos cobraron. No quisieron dar explicaciones sobre todo lo que nos retiraron de la cuenta sin nuestro permiso, con cargos que no entendiamos. En conclusion, recomiendo elegir cualquier otra agencia de alquiler de coches. En sixt por mi propia experiencia y leyendo las demas, esta claro que te van a estafar y al final acabaras pagando mas que en cualquier otra agencia.Que asco, la peor agencia de alquiler con la que me he topado!

Everything went perfectly fine with SIXT Madeira Airport. We picked up the pre-paid car at Funchal airport, got the car we reserved - Renault Clio. We were advised by the staff to go for an upgrade with a more powerful version. As it was our 3rd trip to Madeira, we knew that 79 hp manual is still enough for most rides. Trotzdem wir zu spät landeten, bekamen wir ein entsprechendes Fahrzeug unserer gebuchten Klasse. Die Fahrzeugabholung, sowie die Fahrzeugabgabe verlief schnell und unkompliziert. Ich denke, dass das auch mit der Buchung der Vollkaksko mit 0 Schadensbeteiligung zusammen hing. Der Preis war trotz der 0 Selbstbeteiligung Versicherung, gegenüber anderer Vermieter, wettbewerbsfähig und die Rechnung wurde auch durch die spätere Übergabezeit entsprechend reduziert.

Sehr gut. Wie erwartet war der Übenahme / Übergabe Workflow sehr gut organisiert. Unser Leihwagen hat uns sehr gut gefallen und auch die steilsten Passagen mühelos gemeistert. Danke Fabia:). Bei der Übernahme muss man allerdings etwas Geduld haben, weil der freundliche Sixt Mitarbeiter noch sämtliche zusätzliche Optionen an den Mann/ an die Frau bringen möchte. BE CAREFUL !!!!!!!! They give you a broken Parking card and say: Just say at the return, that the card was already broken. No Problem Dont believe them at all. They will charge you. Then they ask you for every insurance outside at the car (you take it) and then they find new damage of accessories inside in a car with around 72000 km. Result: additional 120 NEVER AGAIN SIXT!!

Une première voiture de type Nissan Micra (probablement classe inférieure à une Clio mais bon, on sappuie sur la mention ou similaire) nous est donnée. Après avoir parcouru une quinzaine de kilomètres et avoir laissé la voiture parquée (contact complètement coupé , bien entendu) la clé ne permet plus de déverrouiller le véhicule. Ma compagne et moi parvenons à rentrer dans le véhicule en utilisant la clé manuelle, mais impossible de démarrer suite à laffichage system fault sur le tableau de bord. Après le soutien dun dépanneur qui nous aide au bout d 1h30 dattente et qui nous suggère lui-même de demander à Sixte un autre véhicule, nous parvenons à reprendre la route jusquà lagence Sixte de laéroport. Là où nous nous attentions à avoir un peu de compatie de la part du personnel suite à ce problème dont le message sur le tableau de bord ne présageait rien de bon, nous tombons en fait face à une personne qui sentête à nous trouver toutes les excuses possibles et à tout simplement nous prendre pour des imbéciles... La voiture na pas de problème, la batterie était déchargée parce que vous lavez quitté en laissant le contact, ou alors cest possible que vous nétiez pas assez près de la voiture pour pouvoir la déverrouiller, ou alors vous avez peut-être trop appuyer sur la bouton de déverrouillage ce qui a vidé la pile et jen passe... Après 15min de prises de tête, nous laissons tomber vu lentêtement de cette personne et demandons simplement davoir un autre véhicule (Dacia Sandero, toujours pas de Clio bien entendu). Le check de la voiture est fait et un décompte de 80,25eu nous est montré mais le personnel nous annonce que nous nallons pas devoir payer ce montant, quil sagit simplement de taxes à titre indicatif pour le remplissage de carburant qui sélève à +- 11eu (nous avions roulé à ce moment 30km). Une semaine après, le décompte de notre carte de crédit indique -80,25 . En bref: un service médiocre et des mensonges.

Terrible experience at Sixt, Madeira Airport | I was left without a car despite having paid for one! Booked a car in sixt through EasyJet Cartrawler and heres what happened: At the arrival the attendant persistently tried to upsell a different car and additional insurance, despite my refusal. At the moment of process the payment their TPA machine had comunication issues, which they blamed on my card without attempting to use another machine. ( Was confirmed with the bank, on site, that the car had no issues) Other staff were unhelpful, refused assistance and make us wait unnecessarily, while keep their conversation going! Also the cancelation of the reservation was refused, allegedly because they werent able to do it ( but they where able edit it for the upsells ) Extremely frustrating and disappointing. Their processes are bad and customer service is a shame. Do not recommend SIXT or EasyJet Cartrawler unless you can afford the risk of losing your money!

ARNAQUE !!! Nous avons utilisé la voiture pendant 5 jours seulement, une fumée blanche est sortie du moteur et nous nous sommes aperçu que le réservoir de liquide de refroidissement était vide. Nous sommes tombés en panne à 10:30, le temps de joindre Sixt (qui nous raccroche au nez x3), davoir un SAV puis une dépanneuse... Nous arrivons enfin à lagence Sixt à 14:00... Plus de 3:30 dattente avec une voiture dont le moteur fume. On nous loue une voiture de la gamme haut dessus pour nos dernières 24h afin de sexcuser de la gène occasionnée et on nous affirme que la voiture ainsi que le plein ne seront pas à facturés comme nous aurons déjà le plein de notre première voiture à payer. Le lendemain quand nous rendons la voiture, nous sommes facturées de 97euros la journée + 12.50 euros de plein !! En plus des 550 euros + du plein complet de notre première voiture. On nous assure que le discours quon a eu la veille est faux, quon nous a jamais dit ça... bref on nous traite clairement de menteuses. Service déplorable mais surtout agence DANGEREUSE qui loue des voitures défectueuses et en plus de ça, vous facture votre voiture de dépannage alors que la panne technique nest pas dû à votre utilisation. Cela fait maintenant plus de 15 jours que je cherche à me faire rembourser via des mails et des appels mais rien nest fait. Ce sont des arnaqueurs, des menteurs, des voleurs mais SURTOUT des personnes dangereuses car nous aurions pu avoir un accident bien plus grave si nous nétions pas proche dun parking au moment où le moteur sest mis à fumer.

Wir haben online bei Sixt einen Mietwagen gebucht. Obwohl unsere Flugnummer bekannt war, Sixt also wußte, dass wir erst um 16°° am Schalter sein können, war in den online-Formularen offenbar eine Abholzeit auf 10°° voreingestellt. Am Sixt-Schalter in Funchal angekommen wurde uns erklärt, wir hätten das Fahrzeug für 10°° gebucht und der Vertrag würde nach zwei Stunden ohne Rückerstattungsoption verfallen. Obwohl wir also einen Miet-Kontrakt über 12 Tage abgeschlossen und bezahlt hatten, verfällt dieser Vertrag bereits nach 2 Stunden bei komplettem Einbehalt der Kosten. Das Auto sei zwischenzeitlich anderweitig vermietet worden, man könne uns aber ein gleichartiges Fahrzeug für nun 2.000 anbieten, also dem 4-fachen Preis. Ich verreise seit 20 Jahren international - solche Taschenspielertricks sind mir dabei noch nie untergekommen - Shame on you Sixt !!! Wir haben uns dann auf eigene Faust bei einem anderen Anbieter ein Mietwagen für 1.200 gebucht Für uns: Nie wieder Sixt !!!

Recomendo o aluguer junto da SIXT! O staff é prestável e muito atencioso. Tudo correu bem na recolha da viatura, assim como na devolução. Relativamente ao seguro adicional, recomendo vivamente que o subscrevam. A probabilidade de o GPS vos enviar para estradas muito estreitas com carros mal estacionados é muito elevada, levando a que seja muito provável que façam algum risco indesejado.

ARNAQUE!! Ne louez surtout pas chez eux, nous avions loué une Skoda Kamiq pendant une semaine et avant notre départ nous avions filmé l entièreté de la voiture, idem au retour. Deux semaines après notre retour en France, à notre grande surprise, nous avons été débité de 345 en plus du prix de la location pour motif de dommage sachant que nous n avons été prévenu ni par mail ni par message de cela et surtout que nous n avons absolument pas abîmer la voiture même d une micro rayure. Nous avons toutes les preuves de l état de la voiture mais eux en ont aucune. Ils nous demandent de contacter le service client pour faire une réclamation et leur demander des photos des dégâts comme preuve de ce qu ils prétendent dire mais pas de réponses. Cette agence de location est à FUIR si vous ne voulez pas de mauvaise surprise à votre retour.

I had a very bad experience with the staff. Everything was awful. They don t know how to treat a costumer. One little problem and they were rude and arrogant. We spoke with some older guy at the counter (probably some kind of supervisor or at least he acted like that). They didn t give us the car because we had problems with our credit card and he said: I have other costumers to take care of deal with this through booking (because we reserved through booking). I also don t recommend reserving through booking because we paid for full insurance and we were told at the counter that if something happens we would still pay for everything and then it would be up to us to demand the money from booking (as we paid the insurance on booking and not directly with Sixt). If I come to Madeira again I will definitely not rent a car here.

Sixt is trying to rip you off. When you come to pick up the car, they will neatly point out any damage to the car. You sign for this and the digital document then states the extent of each damage. As if someone is going to measure that. When you bring it back, they will check for any damage and measure it. They say the damage is worse than it was and that you have to pay. Its really too bizarre for words that nowadays you apparently have to measure the damage to the car in advance with a centimeter or ruler in order not to be screwed over later. I have never experienced this before and will never rent from these scammers again.

Le service nest pas mauvais en soit mais il est lent....lent....très lent !!! Une heure dattente à la réception alors quil ny avait que 3 personnes devant nous. Inspectez le véhicule sous toutes ses coutures (carrosserie, jantes, vitres, intérieur) et prenez des photos en suffisance. Si vous observez un défaut faites le consigner dans le contrat de location car au retour ils seront intransigeants sur le moindre petit défaut. La voiture était propre et en ordre à réception.

ATTENTION ARNAQUE !!!! Pratique frauduleuse et scandaleuse de l agence Sixt Madère Aéroport qui finance les réparations de ses voitures sur le dos de ses clients n ayant pas pris leur assurance . Nous avons loué une voiture pour 8 jours au mois de mai. La prise de possession du véhicule s est très bien passée. Nous avons fait le tour de la voiture avec un agent sixt et avons noté tous les défauts visibles (rayures carrosserie et jante). Pendant ces 8 jours nous n avons eu aucun problème moteur, mécanique ou électronique avec ce véhicule. Aucun voyant allumé ni de bruit suspect. Lors de la restitution du véhicule (plein d essence effectué), l agent sixt nous a prévenus qu il ne pouvait pas faire le contrôle immédiatement et que nous serons tenus informés dans quelques jours. 17 jours après nous recevons un mail de sixt qui nous informe des réparations effectuées (remplacement embrayage) coût 1000 euros et qu ils prélèveront la somme. La date de facture du garagiste qui a réparé le véhicule date du lendemain de la restitution !!!! Bizarre Nous contestons bien évidemment ces réparations et mettons en garde les futurs clients de Sixt . Je découvre au travers des forums que Sixt Portugal est reconnu pour ce genre d arnaque. Faites bien attention !!!!

Bonjour En vacances à Madère en mai 2024, nous avons loué pour la semaine un véhicule catégorie B sans assurance complémentaire chez Sixt à l aéroport. Surtout ne pas louer chez eux, lorsqu ils vous donnent le véhicule tout est bien, les petites griffes, ce n est pas grave. Et fin de séjour, vous rendez le véhicule, ne vous inquiétez pas tout va bien , on s occupe de tout. Deux semaine plus tard, vous recevez un mail avec une belle facture, comme quoi il y a des griffes importantes ou des coups et voir même l embrayage HS. Pour mon cas, c était l embrayage, une facture de 950 que je n ai pas réglé bien sur. Je mets une étoile car je suis obligé, sinon c était 0. !!! Une vraie ARNAQUE !!!

Sehr nettes, kompetentes Team! Das Auto wurde im Vorfeld sehr genau nach Dellen etc. abgesucht und gemeinsam besprochen. Während der Nutzung trat eine Fehlermeldung auf, die aber offenbar eher eine Audi-Macke war, also kein Problem. Dennoch wurde das Fahrzeug überprüft und für die Unannehmlichkeit kam man uns sehr entgegen. Sixt können wir in Funchal sehr empfehlen!

Péssima experiência e nunca vou repetir. O carro foi alugado usando um cartão de crédito e a reserva foi pré paga antecipadamente (o dinheiro saiu da conta). Ao levantar a viatura sou informado que tenho que voltar a fazer o pagamento da reserva mais caução porque não tinha o cartão de crédito comigo (por acaso era um MBNet limitado). Não tenho nenhuma confirmação que o valor será devolvido e duvido que seja devolvido. Não há um email de contacto, nada. Só penso que se uma agência de viagens faz uma reserva os pobres turistas são estafados e são obrigados a pagar uma coisa já pré paga. Já agora, o carro com proteção total e 0 EUR de franquia ter 300 EUR de depósito é de rir. A mim esta empresa não me estafa mais e já tem reclamação apresentada. PS - nem uma factura/recibo me foi gerado dos pagamentos feitos que é algo a meu ver ilegal segundo a lei portuguesa. E o sistema de feedback interno deles deixa de funcionar quando se dá um feedback mau.

The car had been rented in advance via Auto Europe. Unfortunately, the processing at the counter at the airport still took far too long and was cumbersome. There were also four attempts to sell me additional upgrades or packages, even though I made it clear from the outset that I didnt want them. The rented car was good and worked well on the island. However, it had so many scratches that we lost track at some point during the handover and documentation of the damage. Fortunately, the return was unproblematic. All in all, a recommendation.

After reading the reviews, renting with Sixt in Europe for years, and renting a car in Madeira for a week here is my experience and what you need to do: Within your price budget, (1) rent an automatic (2) get the 0 euro deductible insurance (3) get the wheel with windshield insurance. With the steep inclines and elevations changes, I wouldn t trust the clutch in any rental car from any rental company. The roads are narrow, the garages are narrow, the turns are tight with curbs, some hiking parking areas aren t paved, and some roads have big potholes. Make sure your rental has those 3 items above and just enjoy a carefree drive of the island.

The worse experience with rental cars I got. It is such a scam. Be super careful to check the car before leaving and TAKE PICTURES OF THE TIRES. They are talking sweet to you and bringing your attention on something else but be very careful of what you are doing and signing. Really it s manipulation. They are trying to sell you better cars for a lot more money that you booked online. Please go somewhere else there is plenty of other options in Madeira.

Beim Abholen wurde mir angeboten, dass ich doch den kostenlosen (!) Service buchen könnte, dass ich beim Zurückbringen das Auto nicht auftanken müsse. Dazu müsse ich vorab den Tank bezahlen und am Ende werden mir nur dieselben Kosten wie an der Tankstelle berechnet mit der Differenz des Tanks. Ich hatte mehrmals nachgehakt, dass es hier sicher keine versteckten Kosten gibt, denn ich konnte mir so einen Service kaum vorstellen. Aber nun gut, zum ersten mal bei Sixt gemietet und mehr bezahlt und vielleicht gibt es hier doch solche Serviceleistungen inklusive. Nachdem ich mehrmals (!) nachgefragt hatte, dass ich nicht mehr bezahlen würde, als das, was letztlich aufgetankt wird, habe ich zugestimmt und unterschrieben. Das komplette Kleingedruckte hab ich aus Vertrauen zu dem Mitarbeiter dann nicht nochmal durchgelesen. Immer noch leicht skeptisch habe ich beim Abholen des Autos (bei einem anderen Mitarbeiter) ein weiteres Mal nachgefragt, ob dies alles so korrekt ist. Dort wurde ich baff, als mir der Mitarbeiter gesagt hat, ich hätte nun den ganzen Tank sowieso bereits vorab bezahlt und ich könne das Auto leer zurückbringen. Ich würde also bei einem halben Tank ebenfalls den vollen Tank bezahlen. Immerhin: Wenn ich das Auto voll zurückbringen würde, würde mir nichts berechnet. Hätte ich nicht nochmal nachgefragt und somit das Auto voll getankt zurück gegeben, hätte ich aber wohl eine böse Überraschung gehabt. Nach diesem holprigen Start das nächste Debakel. Der Mietwagen hatte nach kurzer Zeit 3 (!) verschiedene Fehlermeldungen gezeigt. Schließlich sind wir zurück zur Station gefahren um das Auto zu tauschen bzw. danach schauen zu lassen. Für uns war es ein etwa 2-stündiger Extra-Aufwand und natürlich auch zusätzliche Kosten durch den Spritverbrauch. Gerade bei einer großem Autovermietung wie Sixt wäre ich von etwas Kulanz ausgegangen. Jedoch: Die Mitarbeiterin, nachdem wir angekommen sind und das Problem geschildert haben, hat nur gesagt, das Problem sei bekannt bei (genau diesem) Auto und kommt öfters vor. Wie bitte? Wenn das Problem bei diesem Auto schon mehrmals vorgekommen ist, wieso wird es dann noch weiter vermietet? Eine Entschuldigung für die Umstände oder ähnliches blieb ebenfalls vollkommen aus. Sie hat uns darauf hin ein Austauschauto angeboten. Es handelte sich jedoch wieder um das identische Modell. Da dieses Automodell bei uns mehrere (!) Probleme hatte, haben wir darum gebeten, ein anderes Modell zu erhalten, um in unserem Urlaub nicht noch mehr Stress zu haben oder Zeit zu verlieren. Allein schon aus Kulanz wäre ich davon ausgegangen, dass man durch die Umstände uns entgegen kommen würde. Jedoch war dies auch nicht möglich, selbst bei mehrmaligem Nachfragen. Dies war mit Abstand meine schlechteste Automieterfahrung und es hat gezeigt, dass mehr bezahlen für eine große Autovermietung sich definitiv nicht (immer) lohnt.

Goede service door het fijne personeel op Madeira. We kregen helaas na 2 dagen een oliemelding in onze auto. Dat had uiteraard van te voren voorkomen kunnen worden, maar ter plaatse werd het super netjes opgelost. De olie zelf was er niet, dus de auto werd omgeruild en ter compensatie een upgrade qua auto. Bij retour auto wisten ze onze zelfs nog te herinneren en vroegen ze nog naar de auto en onze vakantie. Super lief!

I was here last year and still owe a review. The service was phenomenal, we were at the counter extra late due to a delay in arrival and had to deal with an inconvenience with the manager. They took this time to provide us with a car that we urgently needed. 100/100 stars

BE CAREFUL! We rented a car from Sixt Madeira and received a 2500 Euro (!!) fine 33 days after the rental date, even though we had all inclusive coverage. The clutch broke due to misuse according to Sixt. All inclusive coverage is not all inclusive as mechanical parts are not. The contract says: Excluded from the scope of coverage provided for in the preceding paragraphs of this section are damages to the passenger compartment, tyres, glass and mechanical components This means that when a car breaks down from wear and tear in your rental period, you can be held responsible for the total of misuse before you. No real evidence was provided that we were 100% responsible for breaking the clutch other than a statement that the car was fine when we gave it to you. For Sixt: No need to reply to this message. You have taken off the money from my credit card already. Please dont call something all inclusive when it is not!

Ich war ein wenig verwundert über die teilweise sehr negativen Bewertungen. Bei uns war die Übergabe und spätere Abgabe des Fahrzeuges absolut problemlos und professionell, sieht man mal davon ab, dass versucht wurde uns ein teureres Modell anzubieten. Aber irgendwie gehört das ja zum Geschäftsmodell dazu ;) Es ist natürlich immer sinnvoll, eine eigene Dokumentation des Fahrzeugzustandes vorzunehmen.

Plusieurs fois loué chez eux et bonne expérience à chaque fois. Mais en effet il fait être vigilant à chaque location de voiture., Exiger de faire le tour de la voiture avec un agent, prendre des photos vous même et vérifier avec l agent q les dommages constatés apparaissent bien sur la fiche de prise en charge du véhicule. Pour nous tout ,toutes ces étapes ont été respectées et nous avons reçu les documents moins d une heure après sur la boîte mail. Au retour même chose, vérification du véhicule avec l agent. Et vérification de la fiche avant de signer la fiche de retour . J ai loué un autre véhicule peu de temps après avec un autre loueur, et ces étapes n ont pas été aussi scrupuleusement suivies. Donc pour moi Sixt a été une expérience positive.

Da wir der englischen Sprache nicht so mächtig sind.wurden wie von Helena auf Englisch belaber mit hony und sweety und hier bla bla und da bla bla und es hieß die ganze Zeit only 15 only 15 haben wir uns überreden lassen einen Upgrade zu buchen für 15 ABER am Ende waren es 120 und zwar waren es nicht only 15 sonder 15 am Tag.

Like everyone else, I was slightly worried due to the negative reviews, but everything went smooth and I even received a phone call earlier in the day to confirm the age of a child for the car seat. My only reservation was that we picked the car up at midnight and were told to take pictures of any damage since nobody is at the car, but it was in the dark, covered with rain and almost impossible to see the damage on the car, never mind take photos, which did leave me feeling slightly uneasy, particularly due to the very thorough inspection done on arrival.

PRATIQUES FRAUDULEUSES ! Véhicule déposé sans dommages. Personne nétait présent donc nous avons déposé les clés dans une boite à clés. Nous recevons une facture de 577 euros pour deux énormes rayures qui nétaient absolument pas présentes lors du dépôt du véhicule. Cela ressemble fortement à une arnaque, et ils prélèvent votre carte ans ne vouloir rien entendre. FUYEZ !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
