Paula and their team were so easy to work with. We flew from San Diego to Porto then from Lisbon to Sao Miguel. We reached out to them 6 months before our trip and they had everything ready ofr us upon our arrival at the airport. A cargo van for our 9-person party and car seat and booster for all the kiddos. It was easy to operate the van and everything was in great conditon. Grateful for seamless experiences like this that allow us to travel with our family. Thank you, Beautiful Island!
Renting a car on holidays is always stressful, like a lot, but Beautiful Island made it so simple and apporachable that I can only say: If you visit São Miguel island look no further, here you have your solution. We had a misstep with another rental and last minute had to find a substitute car, easily booked a car with insurance in the website, very transparent and secure. My reservation was booked 30min before and for my (pleasant) surprise we arrived there and the car was already ready and clean and the paper work prepared to be signed (of course read everything, but everything was very clear). Helping us, there was Marco from whom I can only say great things, very calm, professional and friendly. Made the entire process even more seamless and we felt even more secure. At any point we felt being deceived or paying more for less. Everything is very well priced and the insurance is not expensive and has great covering, making the holidays stress free.
Really friendly and professional owners at a really good price. Had the pleasure of drinking two beers with the owner. One was a "Welcome to the island!" beer at their facility and the other was a "Well take care of it!" beer. I was renting a Fian Panda e-Hybrid and as components breaking is something that just.. happens here and there.. the Panda's main battery just decided to die. The owner was there within 15 minutes of me calling him, we went for a beer while his son was sourcing the "portable battery charging kit". Once the son arrived, we charged the battery so it could start and I was given the charging kit (just in case). I then told them what I had planed for the next day. The next day while I was surfing, they rung me up, that they were on their way to my location. I quickly came back to the car, a brand new battery was swapped for the old one and I was back in the water within 5 minutes. Nothing but nice things to be said about these guys! Highly recommended!
Excellent experience!! Everything went so smoothly from the online booking process to picking up the car to returning it. My emails were answered so quickly by staff and Marco was excellent at time of pick up and drop off. Thank you Marco and Beautiful Island for a positive experience and we totally recommend using this company.
I hate renting cars in general, because car rental companies have a reputation of milking the customer for every penny they can (legally) earn. My experience with beautiful island was completely different. Good price (sometimes even half of the price what you would pay at airport car rental), and clear conditions. I opted for the gold insurance, as is gave me best coverage for the price. Great car (Opel Corsa), fairly new. All in all a great experience! Book this company if you want great service at a good price!
We rented a car for one week and everything was excellent: pick-up and drop-off service from the airport, great price (cheaper than most websites) and the car they gave us was above our expectations. Definitely recommend.

We rented a small car for a week, and everything great. The car, a Fiat Panda, was almost new. They picked us up at the airport and gave us tips on best places and food. I would recommend them to others. The price was good, and their website is the best on the island.

Muy buen trato, puntualidad en la recogida y dejada del coche y bien de precio, por ponerles un pero es que no te incluyen las ruedas pero es algo que no hace falta ya que las carreteras son adecuadas.

Wirklich ein hervorragender Autoverleih. Online das Fahrzeug reserviert mit Goldversicherung, damit wir auch wirklich entspannt die Berge rauf und runter fahren können. Fahrzeug abgeholt, begutachtet und los gedüst. Das dauert keine 10 min. Der Kontakt vorher per E-Mail lief ebenfalls reibungslos. Rückgabe ging genauso schnell. Fahrzeug hin gebracht, einmal rundum geschaut und erledigt. Die Mitarbeiter sind alle samt sehr freundlich und zuvorkommend. Hier mieten wir definitiv wieder. Da der Verleih per Bus schlecht zu erreichen ist, kann man sich abholen lassen oder mit Taxi hin fahren. Beides war sehr entspannt.

Sehr zuverlässig, pünktlich, unkompliziert und flexibel. Transfer vom Flughafen Ponta delgada zur Autovermietung um Mitternacht und morgens um 5 zurück an den Flughafen hat reibungslos funktioniert.

Abbiamo noleggiato una Fiat Panda (auto praticamente nuova) per una settimana (rapporto qualità/prezzo migliore dellisola). Siamo stati prelevati allaeroporto da un gentilissimo ragazzo. Personale molto cortese e disponibile, consigliati per un noleggio in tranquillità
Abbiamo noleggiato una Opel crossland per 3 giorni ed è andato tutto bene! Personale gentile e disponibile, macchina semi - nuova e poi ti vengono a prendere all aereoporto, così eviti la fila interminabile davanti agli stand delle altre compagnie di noleggio.

Luís was fantastic, checked in with me before the trip to get my flight details so he could meet me as I was arriving in Ponta Delgada. He kindly offered his number if I had any questions on the island, and set me up with a very nice car. He was also very accommodating in changing my drop off time, I truly can t recommend Beautiful Island enough! I will be renting from them when I come back again in the future.
I chose Beautiful Island after comparing almost all the renting companies in Sao Miguel (more than thirty). At the end Ive chosen them for the prices and the good reviews they had and my experience was even better than I expected. I appreciated a lot the honesty, the punctuality, the attention to every detail, the customer care and the amazing treatment Henrique reserved to us at our arrival and departure at the Ponta Delgada airport. I definitely recommend to rent your car from them.

True and honest people run this business! I, as a lot of other people, hate renting a car in general as I loathe the time of returning the car, people crawling underneath, finding millimetre size of scratches that were there before me or stain on fabric etc (lot of bad previous experience), however, this company provides the service that says on the label without the dodgy business what I could read elsewhere on the island. I am definitely going to come back to this beautiful island and I certainly will rent a car from Beautiful Island , sorry for the cheesy pun, and I advise everyone to look no further you won t get to rent from more honest and kind people on the island! I also recommend to get full cover including tyre and rim insurance for peace of mind as there are some challenging areas on the island that can get experienced and otherwise good drivers in trouble or small scratches etc Thank you Luís for your services and dropping us off at the airport so early before your opening time, very much appreciated! The best rent-a-car I have used in S. Miguel, by far. A special reference to Henrique, who made the transfer to the airport, for his kindness and attention to detail. Highly recommended!

Péssima experiência, diversas informações falsas (atraso na entrega do carro; confirmaram por e-mail que não pagaria caução e depois paguei) que causaram um grande transtorno à minha estadia na ilha e NADA foi feito pela empresa para que a situação melhorasse, aliás continuaram a dar informações falsas. Contactei com 5 pessoas diferentes, nenhuma demonstrou o profissionalismo exigido para este tipo de serviço.
Rented 9 passenger vehicle (May 4th, 2024 to May 17th, 2024) A great and smooth experience from the beginning. Staff members Luis and Enrique greeted us at airport upon our arrival. They went over and beyond to help our huge group with all the luggage s. Went through all paperwork and showed all details required to drive vehicle in a timely but not rushed manner. Vehicle was as requested, clean and in excellent condition. Would definitely reccommend Beautiful Island Car Rental. The renting experience was good but at the end, since I paid for the drop off, they sent me at the airport, a single woman with some random man who was not working for the firm and was very dubious and uncomfortable. Such a shame. I was left with a bad feeling from your service.

This is the smoothest I ve ever gotten a rental car. We were picked up at the airport and driven a short distance where our car was clean and ready. Paula was amazing to book with offering a competitive rate and no deposit hold on my credit card. Our vehicle was a newer model that ran well, was good on gas and comfortable for my family of 4. I would definitely recommend this company to others.
We took a car from them for our 5 day trip in March 2024. We took a Peugeot 208 with full insurance, tyre coverage and RSA coverage. It came out to be around 50 euros a day for complete peace of mind. The team was very helpful. While they are not present at the airport I love the free pickup and drop service they provide it is more peaceful than waiting in lines at the airport to pick up your car. Moreover you can drop your car round the clock and they will drop you to the airport for free. Whenever I return to the island they will be my preferred choice for self rental car booking. We were native English speakers and the team knew very good English.

Very convenient, hassle-free booking and friendly service shuttling us from the airport to their location and back on return. We rented an affordable hybrid SUV with automatic transmission that could both navigate the narrow streets in town and was large enough to get 5 of us all around the island. Great experience with this company and highly recommend, especially if you dont like waiting in long lines at the airport or paying outrageous prices.

Preu més barat que a la resta dempreses i servei excel·lent. Reserva online molt senzilla, ens van venir a recollir a laeroport. En Luís és molt amable i professional, no va tenir problema per quedar amb nosaltres a les 6.30h del matí un diumenge per retornar al cotxe i portar-nos a laeroport. Molt recomanable!
Se tiver de escolher uma palavra para os definir, a palavra é DESCOMPLICADOS. Uns meses antes, pedi um orçamento por e-mail e reservei a viatura. Dois dias antes, telefonaram a confirmar a hora de chegada do voo. Quando chegamos, eles lá estavam à nossa espera. Pagamos. No dia de ir embora, passamos no escritório e levaram-nos ao aeroporto. Probably the most friendly, welcoming and professional car rental on the Island. I have been booking with them before and never felt so warmly welcomed. Pick up at the airport, helping with all the luggage into the car. Always answering questions via whats app and Email prompte. I have had a very nice little well serviced car that brought me all around the Island. No deposit necessary, just pay on arrival and pickup. Best prices on the Island, highly highly recommend this place - hope to be back soon.

Sehr unkomplizierte Autovermietung. Das Auto wurde uns zur Unterkunft geliefert. Das Auto war so gut wie neu (bis auf etwas angekratzte Felgen was bei den engen Straßen nicht ausbleibt..) und der Preis vergleichsweise günstig. Es ist keine Kaution oder Ähnliches nötig. Wir mussten es dann zurück fahren, und Luis hat uns zum Flughafen gebracht inklusive kleiner Stadtrundfahrt. Alles top und nur weiter zu empfehlen!
