Electric moped was perfect for our short ride down to the coast. I wouldn't be confident going further than 25km as the battery doesn't seem to last long but great fun for short rides. 100 EUR deposit returned without issue following ride. Definitely recommend for those who don't want to go in a tuk tuk.
Hired an e-scooter, for a great price (and a €100 deposit which was returned in full at the end). We used the scooter to visit the Peña Palace, we drove up and parked out of the way near the main entrance. The guys at the rental were nice & we had no issues. Insurance included is 3rd part Only. Don’t do this if your not confident, it’s probably more stress than it’s worth & taxi / local bus is just as good. We had a great time! 🎉
Brilliant place to hire an ebike (my second time). The prices are great for the types of bikes and length of hire. Perfect way to explore Sintra, which is full of hills.. or further afield. I travelled 60 miles and 4,000ft (to Ferrel) in relentless headwind and arrived with 8% battery! The staff working there are extremely friendly, helpful and very flexible. Thanks again Guido, Pedro and Vimaldo! If you're staying at the Moon Hill Hostel (highly recommended) you may be able to collect the bike the evening before and store it at the hostel so that you can set off early (the store opens at 0930). I will definitely hire from them again and maybe try one of their other stores in Setubal or Lagos.
I actually came twice to BikNic shop, once to get advice of which e-bike I should rent and tips about potential trails. even got a test ride to see if it's fits my needs. A few days later, when the weather was good, I came again and rented the bike and had a great day exploring Sintra. I definitely recommend this shop and would like to thank Ana and Gideon for the ecsepsionl service.
Rented a fatbike in Sintra for a very good rate (€19). Service was great, they spoke perfect English and despite Sintra’s hard-to-navigate roads, we had a great time.
Perfect experience! Due to the website glitch I managed to book the scooter on a day the place was closed. But Ana contacted me quickly and regardless of this managed to arrange the collection with her colleague Pedro, they were both phenomenal. I wasn't expecting this sort of customer service, please be reassured – this place is absolutely amazing. Scooter was super fun to ride, I went all the way to the west coast and back without a single issue. Can't stress enough how great that day was.
Very nice experience. We biked from Sintra to Capo do Roca and climbed lead and boulder around there. I would suggest an e-bike cause some streets are quiet steep but if you're in a good shape it's just about having fun! Included with the bikes in lent also an emergency kit to fix/inflate inner tubes. See you soon💪🏽
I rented a scooter online in the evening for the following morning. I was greeted at the time I had chosen, bike was in excellent condition and I was explained everything I needed to know before taking off. I had the time of my life exploring Sintra - mainly getting lost on my way to Pena Palace. This was an amazing way to get around, I would do it again with no hesitation!

We rent two e-bikes for a day and we get some nice e-bikes for a good price! The owner is very funny and sympatic, thumb up for all! we would rent again there and we can recommend it.

I had a negative experience on the day of, but the owner was kind enough to make it right in the end.
Online booking and email responsiveness was great, but unfortunately, once we arrived, thats where the positive experience ended. The shop was closed at hours when Google stated it was open, so we had to wait awhile. Then when the employees arrived, he couldnt seem to find my reservation that I had made weeks earlier. One of the 2 bikes we had reserved wasnt there and the other needed repairs, which meant we couldnt take our planned ride to Cabo da Roca that afternoon and had to plan it for the next day. When we came back the next morning, there were 2 bikes, but one was different than what we had reserved and neither had any storage like we had been counting on. We basically had to pick out our own helmets and make sure they fit, the employee didnt seem knowledgeable on any of the equipment or safety. The bikes also do not come with a phone holder to navigate (the somewhat confusing) roads of Sintra. We were told this was an extra, not that you could add this to your reservation when you made it online. They didnt have any there that we could pay for or use. Overall, a disappointing experience for an activity we were very much looking forward to on our visit to Sintra.
Alquilamos dos bicicletas eléctricas. Guido, el chico que nos atendió super amable. El alquiler y la recogida fue rápido y sencillo. El problema vino después cuando pichamos una de las bicicletas y no nos habían dado kit de reparación porque no tenían suficientes. Nos pusieron muchísimos problemas e inconvenientes, tuvimos que solucionar el problema nosotros, buscando un taller en el cual nos arreglaran la bicicleta. El trato por parte del jefe fue pésimo, no nos daba ninguna solución, a parte de hablarnos por teléfono de muy malas maneras, exigiendo que pagáramos un Uber para que vinieran arreglarnos la bicicleta o exigiendo que hiciéramos nosotros el arreglo sin abonarnos el coste que nos supondría. Al final tras un par de horas perdidas llegamos a un acuerdo pero aún así ya no pudimos disfrutar de las experiencia completa. Las bicicletas que alquilamos ponía que tenían autonomía para 90/100km (son las más caras) y mentira, aguantan bastante menos. Hay que tener cuidado con eso porque si no coges bicicleta con frecuencia puede que te fíes de la autonomía y te falle y te quedes tirado, aún así el precio está bastante bien. La experiencia estaba siendo bastante buena hasta el incidente y en estos momentos por como fuimos tratados NO recomendaría esta tienda de alquiler de bicicletas.
Renting an electric scooter was a great choice. The price was good, and the scooter worked well. The employees were friendly and gave clear instructions on how to use the scooter. We visited all the castles and palaces easily, without waiting in long lines to the buses. Parking was never a problem. If you re new to e-scooters, here are some tips: - take time to get used to the scooter. It s powerful, so tell your passenger to hold on tight. - the charge indicator isn t very accurate. Make sure it s fully charged if you re going to Cabo da Roca. Thank you, BikNic!
Scooter gehuurd om de kastelen te bezoeken in Sintra. Voordeel is dat je meestal vlakbij kunt parkeren, in tegenstelling tot de autos. Fijne scooter, goede uitleg en voor een lage prijs. Aanrader!

Absolute Empfehlung! BikNic Bike & Scooter Rental ist zentral in Sintra gelegen, wenige Gehminuten vom Bahnhof. Wir haben zwei E-Bikes gemietet, die Bikes sind in gutem Zustand und haben zum Teil auch Getränkehalter und/oder Handyhalter. Helme stehen in guter Qualität und mehreren Größen zur Auswahl. Auch ein Kettenschloss ist an jedem Bike. Mit den Bikes lässt sich Sintra und die Umgebung wunderbar erkunden. Die Gegend ist recht bergig, daher ist ein Bike ohne Antrieb nur eingeschränkt zu empfehlen.

Scooters elétricas com boa autonomia e potência adequada. O posicionamento dos espelhos é um pouco complicada e a manutenção podia ser um pouco melhor assim como o horário de entrega, mas pelo preço é sem dúvida uma boa alternativa aos transportes públicos. Recomendo.

I rented the biggest scooter today, 125, and it was perfect! You drive very well. The girl welcomed me very well and explained everything to me perfectly, as well as showing me the various tourist points on the map. I ll back! :)
Amazing service and super cool bikes! I rented e-bike and I was able to explore Sintra-Cascais Natural Park and nearby villages. The staff provided all necessary equipment and tips for my travelling, and nice spots to visit too I will definitely come back and rent a bike from this company. Highly recommend!!!
Trés bon service, très bon accueil
The staff was kind and I was able to rent a nice electric bicycle. It takes about 40 minutes to cycle to Cape Roca. Sightseeing around Sintra Station is somewhat difficult as there are many one-way streets.

We spontaneously decided to rent a scooter around 15:30, luckily they had one for us with enough battery, so its better if you book in advance. The renting and return went very nice and smooth. Def recommend.

My two friends and I went here to rent e-bikes for the afternoon. We had a great time and the bikes worked great! Priscila was super helpful and friendly. She made sure we had and knew everything we needed. The price was super fair too. If your looking for an e-bike to ride up to the castles this is the spot to go.
Hier bekommt man zu Räder und Roller zu einem sehr guten Preis und zudem noch einen super Service (Lieben Dank nochmals an Priscilla). Werde hier auf jeden Fall wieder mieten bei meinem nächsten Sintra Besuch.

Great bikes and fantastic service - Ana was extremely helpful, friendly and accommodating. We had some unfortunate luck with debris on the road and she was very understanding and continued to just be helpful. We had no issues with the bikes and everything worked out great.

As we were walking to Quinta da Regaleira, we stumbled across this e-bike shop. Anna was super helpful in picking out the right vehicle for the day. We rented an electric scooter for a day. 30 for 2 pax. It saved us a lot of time trying to get to all the castles by cutting traffic. On either the e-bikes or scooters you could take the prohibited routes that are for registered cars. note they don t have a phone holder for directions. So someone needs to navigate.

Sin duda la mejor opción para descubrir Sintra; motos y bicis eléctricas con las cuales puedes entrar en todas partes, muy cómodo y ahorras mucho tiempo. Es la solución más libre y económica/ecologica que puedes encontrar. Cogimos una moto 125 eléctrica y fue una maravilla, 100% recomendable. Muy amables los empleados. 30 para el día entero (hasta las 18h) y 100 de fianza, es ideal para dos.
Ha sido una experiencia chulisima, lo recomiendo a todo aquel que quiera explorar la zona tranquilamente y de manera autónoma sin tener que depender de otro conductor. Además alquilan motos eléctricas con las que puedes acceder a todos sitios como vehículo autorizado. Las personas que nos han atendido han sido muy amables y agradables, recomiendo muchísimo la experiencia!
