My husband and I did two private day trip tours with Alex. He was incredibly polite, funny, professional, and knowledgeable. We did the Sintra and Cascais tour, as well as Mafra and Ereceira. Each of these tours were so fun and we made so many memories! We cannot say enough great things about Alex - truly sad our tours have come to an end. Alex and his two tours were by far the highlight of our trip to Portugal!

we hired Tomás Silva to take us on a tour that included grutas de mira de aire and the knights Templar castle in Tomar. We had lunch at the Taverna Antiqua in Tomar. He was very knowledgeable about the area and was a wonderful guide and driver. Will definitely book with him again in future

We toured Sintra with Alex the guide and Alex the driver and could not have been more happy. First, the bus was clean and modern, with huge windows even on top and a TV showing the front, which made it immersive even during the drive. Alex catered the tour schedule to our kids and gave a great mix of engaging information without overdoing it. There was enough free time to explore on our own. Communication was excellent. Very highly recommended!!

Our family utilized Wondervans for three days in Lisbon. Alex our guide was amazing. An excellent driver, totally blowing us away with all the details and legends of each place we visited, allowing us the time to explore on our own. We highly recommend Wondervans.

Went on tours around Sintra and cascais, Lisbon, and another around Tomar and Nazare. Day one was the Lisbon Tour when we landed. Was great that the tour guide Alex adjusted to how early we landed. It was actually really y nice to do the tour early as we were able to be the only people around the locations allow Alex to provide good information with out talking over others or us fighting to see what he is explaining. particularly at the Monument to the Discoveries where he said there is normally tons of people standing over the map. But wee had the whole map yo ourselves and he was able to take his time and really explain to us the history and travels of the Portuguese. On the first day we told him we were doing to more tours the following days and he said he would be our guide for those as well!! He was a great guide giving us tips on where to go in the locations he took us. Giving us some extra history at some of the stops and on the drive to the location. He was very accommodating for time or what locations we went to based on the weather, Time we got to a location. For example he gave us the option to spend time and eat in Nazare or spend only some time there and eat at the next stop in Obidos. TLDR : Alex was great, very nice, and had a great knowledge to share. Clean and spacious van.

Our tour guide did an excellent job starting with Alexandre picking us up at our hotel, giving us some history of Portugal and the Lisbon/Cascais/Sintra areas. Alexandre was a kind and funny tour guide. Very safe driver and spoke good English. You guys made this an easy and fun tour with no worries on our part. So worth it to book with Wonder Van - Tours! Would highly recommend! And the Pena Palace is gorgeous!

We took the Wonders of Sintra & Cascais Natural Park tour with Alexandre and had a wonderful time. We had specific wishes but also visited at a very busy time of year and Alexandre was a true magician at making things happen. We can highly recommend the tour and Alexandre in particular.

Abbiamo trovato il tour- Sintra Historical jeep adventure Tour- selezionando tra i numerosi tour online, ci sembrava che fosse piú particolare, ricercato e completo soprattutto perchè avevamo solo 1 giorno per visitare Sintra le nostre aspettative non sono state deluse, anzi un esperienza unica e speciale! Tomás , la nostra guida, ci ha accompagnato in un percorso veramente ricco di cultura , di paesaggi stupendi , mostrandoci delle vere e proprie chicche! Inoltre ci ha spiegato tutto in italiano, aiutandoci cosí a comprendere al meglio la storia e la cultura ! Molto divertente andare in jeep, sempre comunque in totale sicurezza!! Da fare assolutamente!!

Hola. Tuvimos la maravillosa suerte de coger un tour privado en este sitio. Lo hicimos con Tomás Silva. Nos atendió estupendamente, muy simpático y atento y sabía muy bien explicar todo el tour. Pero nos surgió un problema personal y tuvimos que dejar a medias el recorrido. Tomás nos ayudo en todo lo que pudo y más para solucionar nuestro problema. Si no es por él que nos guió y ayudo en todo momento no hubiéramos podido arreglar el contratiempo. Recomiendo de corazón contratar a Tomás Silva para el tour. Os va guiar de manera muy profesional y si surge algún problema os va a ayudar en todo. Nos llevamos un gran recuerdo de Sintra gracias a él.

Great day, very enjoyable and I would recommend it. I chose the group tour of Sintra to avoid having to research and plan the logistics of a day trip. Very worthwhile way to see main the main attractions, get insight into the area, and enjoy a good lunch and support a local business. Only hiccup was that it was impossible to book a time slot for the Quinta do regaleira on the fly with card security measures (email, text, call) and no wifi but luckily another participant did it for us.

Where to begin It was way past amazing. Tomás Silva was our guide and he went above and beyond to accommodate us. He had so much patients with my dad who was sick. He was friendly and really knowledgable about Portugal and the history. I will recommend the company any time.

I booked WonderVan for my wedding in Paço de Arcos (west of downtown Lisbon), as most of my guests were staying in center Lisbon. They were responsive to all my questions over email AND WhatsApp. As an American who was trying to coordinate this without living in Lisbon, I valued efficient communication. They also recommended the perfect option of a large bus and smaller vans (to do the final leg) that I would not have thought of myself. Lastly, the pricing was very fair. I checked several other options and their package was the most comprehensive. Much appreciation to the whole team, I highly recommend them if you need to schedule transportation for large groups to a special event!

We worked with wondervan for a pre-wedding event (Sintra Jeep Tour) and also used them for our shuttle services for our wedding day. We could not be more pleased about the services they provided! The jeep tour was the highlight of everyone s trip, and each tour guide was fantastic, knowledgeable, and so friendly. We ended the tour in the middle of a forest for a beautiful Portuguese picnic and it could not have more perfect. A very enjoyable experience taking a private tour to Sintra, Cabo da Roca, and Cascais with WonderVan. Alex, our tour guide, was very interactive. He not only explained the important aspects of each destination but also recommended snacks to buy and try, which were indeed delicious! Alexs knowledge of history is excellent, and coincidentally, I also love history, so we ended up talking a lot about it. By chatting with Alex, we gained various new perspectives on the lives of the elite in Sintra from the past to the present, as well as about the Age of Discovery and Portugals role in world exploration. Besides history, Alex is also a football fan, and we had lively conversations about football. Overall, the service from WonderVan and Alex was exceptionally good, prompt, and responsive. We are very satisfied with our experience.

I booked a tour for a family of 5 and we were so happy to have Tomás as our guide. We saw and learned so much about Sintra, toured Pena Palace, Cabo de Roca and National Palace. Our family of four took a private tour to Sintra and Cascais with Wonder Van on 14-Jun-2024. Tomas Silva was an excellent guide and a great driver. He showed up on time and was extremely friendly, engaging, and knowledgeable about all of the sites he took us to. He also had great recommendations for lunch, bakery, port wine tasting room, etc. We really had a wonderful day with Tomas and Wonder Van, and would strongly recommend their tour services to others.

My partner and I booked this tour via airbnb experiences and were paired up with a few folks (7 of us in total) with Andre as our guide. We did a jeep tour of Sintra for 7 hours. Andre is potentially one of the best tour guides I think Ive ever had. His English is perfect. He was able to banter with us in English and he is very quick witted. I dont expect this from native English speaking tour guides.. The fact English wasnt his first language is very surprising to me. He is also a Sintra local! He grew up in the area and knows all of the local spots. He is extremely knowledgeable and very accommodating. Our tour was meant to end at 5pm but due to some delays he was with us until 615pm. The weather also wasnt perfect, but he suggested alternative routes & sights to see during the tour so that we could make the most of our time. Highly recommend this company, I would book again with them!

this tour is a must do when in the lisbon area. i did this same tour in 2019 and knew i had to do it again because its that s great. tomas was an amazing guide and truly made this tour incredible. he is passionate, easy to connect with and knows how to adapt things to his clients and what they d like to see / do. we stopped for lunch at a local spot with amazing food that we would have never stumbled into without tomas. the jeep is also great for some off-roading and getting you views that are much more peaceful than going to some of these spots on your own with all of the other tourists. this was a highlight of my trip in 2019 and was even better the second time around in 2024. highly highly recommend !!!

We had a fabulous day yesterday with Tomás as our guide. This was my first time on an e-bike (having previously only ridden human-powered bikes), but it was easy and fun! And very useful for the many hills we went up. It was beautiful to be in the fresh air. We opted for a ride past some of the main Sintra attractions and then on to the coast, via local neighbourhoods. So interesting and it was cool to see the surf looking very much like home (Australia). Thank you Tomas!

We opted for a private customized Wonders of Sintra & Cascais tour with Wonder Van tour on Easter Sunday 2024 after reading their amazing reviews on multiple platforms like tripadvisor & google. We wanted to include both the Pena Palace and Quinta da Regaleira along with the other 2 stops. It is important to note that we were a family of 4 that included 2 kids (ages 5 and 2). Luckily for us, we had Tomas as our guide. He was simply amazing and catered to our every need. He displayed a ton of patience and empathy while dealing with our kids. Thanks to him, we had a memorable tour that well remember whenever we think of Portugal. If youre looking to book with Wonder Van, you cannot go wrong - especially if you have Tomas as your guide!

We had an amazing day on our tour with our guide Rafael (Johnny Depp), the Jeep tour took us in areas not possible for other vehicles to access. We had an excellent experience using Wonder Van to tour Sintra for the day. The moment we met Tomás we realized just how passionate he was about what he does and the love he has for his hometown of Sintra. We had an amazing tour in Lisbon with our guide LUIS and the day was more than interesting and pleasant with him (despite the difficult weather conditions). We visited a lot of places, hear nice info and had time to see, take pictures and discuss. Luis is a kind and interesting person, very experienced in Lisbon and he helped us very much by suggesting us destinations and things to do for the rest of our trip. The best way hands down to see Sintra in a day. Couldn t have asked for a better experience. Our guide Alex was truly a legend. The friendliest, most laidback, and knowledgeable guide I have ever had. He met us at the meeting point right at 9:30 before taking us to the first site. It was just our group of 5 so it ended up being a private tour! Not only did he educate us on the main spots, he took so many group photos of us which not every guide will do. Every site he gave us some free time to roam around and just take it in. We stopped at a local restaurant for a lunch where you get a ton of food, wine, and a dessert for only 12 euros. The jeep was comfortable, the views were great, and the whole day was a highlight of the trip. Thank you Alex for treating us like family and sharing with us a place that is so close to your heart.

I had the most amazing tour with Wonder Van. Tomas was my tour guide, and to be honest, he is the best tour guide you could ever have. The whole trip was epic. My travel companions and I, we had so much fun and actually learned a lot too. I travel solo and booking this tour is the best thing I have done so far. Highly recommend this experience!!

This was honestly a life changing experience. THOMAS is so amazing!!!!! He is so intelligent, passionate, kind, and patient. He explains everything and really takes the time to get to know the group. He is a history major so it was awesome talking to him about the history of Portugal and the significance of the places we visited. Amazing tour! Andre did a great job driving us around to all the must see spots. We had our own little personal tour at each stop and a great lunch tucked away up in one of the mountain villages. Highly recommend!

Amazing day in Sinatra on our e-bike tour. From our warm reception at Wonder Van, through the orientation of our bikes, on to our adventures through the streets of Sinatra and the beautiful Beister Palace, Thomás made our day special. My wife and I booked a last minute (under 24 hours) tour with this company via Airbnb based on a recommendation and we were looking forward to it. It was our first trip to Portugal and we were excited to visit Sintra. Unfortunately, the night before our start time, we both had a very bad stomach bug and it kept us both up all night. When the morning came around, we decided it would be a bad idea to go for a full day tour as we were still not fully recovered. We immediately messaged the host and initially they were responding to see if we could reschedule but we were unable to since we were leaving the country the next day. Then, when we asked for a consideration for a refund, even partially, they stopped responding and we stopped hearing from them. We felt very bummed that we missed the tour because we were looking forward to it and we were hoping that this company would be more empathetic towards our situation, especially because we booked this last minute and they werent planning on us coming until the last 20 hours. The reason Im giving them 1 star is because they stopped responding and their customer service is terrible if you ask for any type of concessions. We escalated to Airbnb and they responded 2 weeks later and accused us of being liars and shamed us for escalating. We were only asking for a consideration and if they had responded nicely to explain why not, we might have let it go but we felt like they were ignoring us so we would go away. We couldnt get them to resolve this issue for us but ultimately we got our money back through our credit card but I would not recommend this company if you are not 100% certain you can make the trip because they will not be accommodating of any concessions.

Our tour guide, Paulo, deserves all the credit for what was the best day of our trip to Portugal! We had the best experience possible, viewing breathtaking views and experiencing everything that Sintra had to offer. Paulo was funny, polite, well informed, and essentially everything that you could ever ask for in a tour guide. Moreover, the overall value of the tour was shocking, we couldnt believe that we were getting a full day experience with so many views, so much to drink, and so much to eat for such a low price! Book Paulo for your next tour and I promise you will not regret it!

We had a fantastic time with Wonder Van. Our guides in Sintra, Portugal were great. Alex and Nuno were very knowledgeable about all of the locations we visited. They were very efficient by waiting in ticket booth lines for us and by getting the car while the tourists were finishing their visit at various locations. Additionally, they took us to locations little known by the average tourist, so we had excellent views we couldn t have seen any other way. I m so happy we got to tour Sintra with Alex and Nuno.

Dont miss Sintra with Paulo and Wonder Van - What a Great Day! Our party of 4 had an amazing day exploring Sintra and beyond with our great guide Paulo. Our tour of Quinta da Regaleira and its gardens took us along many adventurous paths as Paulo s intimate knowledge of the grounds led us to so many beautiful views and interesting parts of the site. After bringing us to a wonderful lunch spot, we were off to Paulo s favorite beach on the coast which we thought was one of the top beaches we had ever been to, and then off to more great sights. Down every road, around every corner, at every stop, Paulo gave us insights into history and life in Sintra and Portugal. I can t express how grateful we feel for the day we spent with Paulo.

Thank you Andre for a wonderful tour. We think it was his first time taking this tour, everyone really enjoyed his enthusiasm, passion and knowledge for the area. The tour takes in all the main sites, unfortunately it was Labour Day and along with some other challenges we couldnt get to see everything, but thats no fault of Andre. We changed the tour and had a wonderful visit and walk to Monserrate instead, which was stunning and tourist free. Andre kept the tour flexible for the group and we all chose lunch, which he called and booked ahead, for a lovely meal where they really look after you. Great choice! Cabo da roca was wonderful from the place our 4x4 was able to get us to (expertly driven by Andre).And the day finished with a wine /port tasting in the centre of Sintra. Onze tour met Paulo was onvergetelijk, samen met onze zoon van 9 jaar hebben we een te gekke dag gehad. We begonnen met het bezoeken van een wijngaard, reden met de Jeep de berg op voor een super mooi uitzicht, reden door smalle straatjes, door bossen, bezochten een pràchtig mooi strand. Tijd voor de lunch, op een berg in een klein dorpje aten we het lekkerste vlees van heel onze vakantie. Tussen de locals lunchen, ter plaatse klaargemaakt vlees, lekkere wijn. Door naam Cabo da Roca, door de bergen van Sintra, wandelen door de paleistuinen en een gezellige afsluiting (Port proeverij) in Sintra zelf. Paulo is geboren en getogen in Sintra en verteld vol passie over de streek, hij heeft goed voor ons gezorgd, onze complimenten voor Paulo! Tip: Reserveer ruim op tijd voor je bezoek je tickets voor Pena Palace (in overleg met Wondervan voor de tijd). Toen wij er kwamen was het uitverkocht, jammer! Goed te weten dat dit kan gebeuren.

Ha sido un tour increíble. Fuimos a Sintra, Cascais y Cabo da Roca solos todo el tour. Y he de felicitar a nuestro guía y conductor Alexandre Garrido que nos acompañó todo el día, es un guía fantástico, muy amable y simpático, además nos explicó con detalle la historia de Sintra y Cascais. También nos llevó a una degustación de un licor de cereza típico de Sintra y un buen Oporto en el Bar do Binho. Just had a tour yesterday (6/2/23) with Henrique. First of all, I arrived 1 hour early.....at the wrong location. Duarte at Wonder BIKES contacted Ana and they both made sure I arrived at the 1st destination with the group and I didnt miss a beat. Henrique was absolutely AMAZING. Good English was superb!! He handled our tour with the most compassion Ive ever experienced. I could immediately tell that he truly cares for people, that he takes pride in his job, and that he truly loves Sintra, history, and showing others his world. The tour was a wonderful combination of touristy and discreet. He allowed the group to decide how to navigate thru the end of the tour, be accommodated practically every need and made sure each person felt included. He wasnt robotic. I felt like I knew him my whole life. Our group was small, yet diverse and he was knew little random facts about each person home country. It was very personable. We all arrived as strangers but left as friends. I can truly say that. If I EVER come back to Sintra, for starters I know where to report (lol) and 2, Im booking with Wonder Van again and I specifically will ask for Henrique!

We have been travelling Europe for three months and this tour by far was the best tour we have ever had because Henry is the best tour guide weve ever experienced. We hadn t ever done a private tour like this before so I had no idea what to expect. Luis, greeted us and explained everything thoroughly and sets us all at ease. He showed us places that we didn t know we needed to see. He was knowledgable, friendly and very patient with our indecisiveness. He guided us gently when we didn t have any idea. He gave us suggestions and options so we could choose. He was so good the first day we booked him again for the next day. I would absolutely book with luis again on a future trip to Portugal.

The Wonder Van tour with Alex, was absolutely amazing! I booked the Sintra Coast Jeep tour with Peña Palace. The coastal tour with our guide Enrique was very enjoyable but I was very disappointed with the Peña Palace portion of the tour. I was specifically told not to pre-purchase my ticket for entry to the palace as it would be better to purchase the tickets through the tour company. The option to purchase them was never offered and by the time we arrived at the palace in the late afternoon the tickets were sold out. We could only purchase garden tickets and see the exterior of the palace. Unfortunately, this was a missed opportunity and mishandled by Wonder Van Tours.

First of all, Henry was great! He s a local and he s super interesting. He has great knowledge about the city and even goes out of his way to make sure everyone enjoys the tour to the different monuments. He s sympathetic, understanding, very knowledgeable and a great communicator. If you get a chance to go on a tour with him, do not hesitate and do it! You re gonna have lots of fun! Bruno is the one who allowed us to book the tour! He s simply the best!! He ll listen to you and help you out as much as he can. He s a wonderful human being, the kind of person who s always there to help. We d give this tour a good 10/10 because everything was great from beginning to end. We had a great trip with our driver Alex, he was very knowledgeable and took us to some great spots. We really enjoyed the lunch, checking out the coast and the Quinta da Regaleira. By doing his trip we avoided the queues and alot of the crowds but still saw a lot.

My wife and I did the Sintra, Cabo de Roca, and Cascais can tour with Henrique and had a great day! The Pena Palace was unfortunately closed due to the weather but Henrique went above and beyond to make up for it. He found other places for us to go and we still had a full day of sightseeing and learning about the local history and culture. You can tell that he is passionate about what he does and I would recommend this tour to anyone.

We had a great day with Tomás and Wonder Van. The sites at Sintra ended up being closed due to fire hazards upon our arrival, but Tomás was great to help adapt the plan. We ended up have a memorable lunch at a local restaurant and saw lots of sites on the coastline. We were a group of 6 including 2 young kids (5 and 3) and he assessed many of our needs. It was a super hot day in August and even ran off to fetch us waters (and a snack/pastry for the kids/adults) and would make sure to get in the van before us to turn on the AC. There were also loads of people and cars/busses so it was so nice to get escorted right to the sites without having to worry about parking, etc. We were so glad to get Tomás as our guide and would recommend him any day. It was a joy getting to know him and his life in Portugal and we wish him all the best.

What a great tour. From the time we first spoke to the owner/manager (never got her name) to the actual jeep tour with Andre it was a wonderful experience. He combined the usual Sintra sites with some amazingly beautiful natural sites. Andre was patient, funny and knowledgeable. He also seemed to know everyone in town. As a final note he encouraged us to visit Cascais. We did and it was everything he promised. We would highly recommend Wondervan without reservation!

We have had a bike tour around Sintra with Thomas that was so good that we booked a day private tour with him today. Both have been amazing. Thomas is so knowledgeable and being locally born and bred knows everything there is to know about the town he so clearly loves. Would highly recommend. You won t regret it!

They are just superb - we did a full one day tour of Sintra- Coba De Roca and Cascais - we had senior citizens and kids and a big group . Right from the booking which was managed by Marriane to the entire tour for the day Alexandre and Andre were fantastic. Their knowledge about the history of the place - basis our group which areas are good to see and their warmth was infectious. They were so warm and welcoming always helping us and making sure we saw all the key points. We really enjoyed the trip.

My husband and I booked this tour as a part of our honeymoon trip to Portugal. This tour, led by Paulo ( Jahle ), was one of the most magical experiences of our entire trip. We got super lucky and were the only two people on the tour - so the whole day ended up being an informative, fun, and memorable private experience. We booked family tour for Sintra sight seeing . Henry was our tour guide and he did an amazing job. He has lot of experience and covered the places which are out of reach in bus tours. He took us to sea cliff overlooking Atlantic Ocean through secret tour and view was awesome from there. He was very helpful and informative. He took us to an excellent food place where probably I had the best Salmon of Portugal and dessert too. I would highly recommend his services if anyone wants to know the history of this place .

We booked a private tour of Sintra, and Tomas was our delightful guide for a group of 10. The tour was well paced, lots of information & great photos, good tips for both during the tour & later in the trip. He took us to an *amazing* informal lunch stop with a wood fired oven, Pao Saloio - if its open on the day of your tour, you will be so happy you went! If youre going to Sintra, I highly recommend Wonder Vans Jeep Adventure tour - and its an added bonus if Tomas is your guide! Also, if he wants to take you to Pao Saloio for lunch, take him up on it.

HIGHLY RECOMMEND! I just was not expecting the tour to be THAT amazing. You see the major castles, the beautiful coast of-roading, the local lunch spot, and the port wine tasting, all in one day!! Tomass history knowledge and passion for the area was impeccable! He was so friendly and willing to take my many pictures for me even though I was solo female traveller and a bit nervous. I felt very comfortable and genuinely had so much fun! It was such a magical day and definitely a highlight of my trip. Unbelievable two days in Portugal! Could not recommend it any more. We had such a great time with Tomas on the jeep tour of sintra that we booked him again the next day for Lisbon. He was so professional, highly educated and made the entire trip unforgettable. Request him. You won t regret it!

TL:DR I dont recommend. False advertising and dismissive. To be completely honest, I was disappointed. The ebikes were super fun to ride, however the first bike I tried did not work (discovered after climbing a hill without assistance) so we had to turn around and return it. Online it also says there is a GPS and routes available (screenshots to prove it), however there were not. No GPS or map provided. He told us to go to the national palace to ask the workers for directions to the bike route (we were headed to Pena Palace for a tour). The people at national palace told us there is no such bike route. Due to not having a GPS like expected, and been given poor directions, we missed our palace tour and were super disappointed. Overall he was kind, but when I mentioned the disappointment he was very dismissive and defensive. I would not recommend renting ebikes here. I recommend catching a tuk tuk driver. After returning our bikes early we used a tuk tuk driver to help us around the city and it was so much better!! And way way more affordable. I would have accepted a partial refund had he tried to make his wrongs right. Nonetheless he made no effort to make things right so I feel its only fair to warn other travelers.

This was my favorite day of our Portugal trip because Alex was the warmest, most knowledgeable, and most accommodating guide. He truly loves Portugal and spoke about it in a way that let all of us share in his enthusiasm. From the moment you get into the van, he starts telling you about the history of Portugal and pointing out all the interesting sites along the way. Pena palace is the most spectacular castle I ve ever been to, a combination of striking colors, regal architecture, and intriguing details. Sintra historical center is charming and Alex gave us great recommendations for lunch and pastries. Later we went to Cavo de Roca for a stunning view of the ocean. Our final stop in Cascais was laid back and we did some shopping. It was a perfect day and we owe it all to Alex s expert knowledge, professionalism, and bright personality. I will be recommending this tour to everyone who goes to Portugal!

Wondervan was the highlight of our trip. Our Portugal trip would not have been the same if we did not experience the tours. It was because of Thomas Silva that our trip became so memorable. Alexander was a fantastic tour guide! He Knows all about Portuguese history as well as facts about the sites. He is a lot of fun and took pictures of my husband and me during our tour! Awesome private tour with Thomas. He picked us up at our holiday apartment in Lisboa and drove us to Sintra to see the amazing Pena Palace and the Quinta de Regaleira (must see!). We then went for lunch at a local restaurant which was a great experience. After lunch we went off-road to enjoy a stunning view of Cabo da Roca. The weather wasnt the best, but that didnt matter. To top it off, we tasted different drinks in the centre of Sintra before Thomas returned us to Lisboa. Hes superfriendly and knows everything about Sintra and Portugals history. Would definitely recommend!

My boyfriend and I had an amazing day with our guide Thomas. He picked us up in the morning with the Jeep right outside out accomodation and brought us back there in the evening. We visited gorgeous Sintras monuments in the morning, went for lunch in a very local restaurant where we had fresh delicious Portuguese food. In the afternoon he brought us on the coast to reach the most western point of continental Europe. Stunning view! Finally, we had the chance to taste Porto wine and other typical Portuguese liqueurs. We had a wonderful tour of Sintra & Cascais with our guide Rueben. We explored the palace and gardens at Sintra, saw a breathtaking hidden beach cove, took in the view at the western most point in continental Europe, and walked the marina in Cascais. Ruben was a fantastic guide- extremely knowledgable about the history, culture, architecture, and geography, happy to adjust the tour to our needs and wants, gave us great guidance and information but also gave us time to wander on our own. All in all a fantastic tour.

We had an amazing experience with Wonder Van Tours that we hired them TWICE! We hired the company initially for a private tour of Sintra, Cascais and Cabo da Roca. Our tour guide Tomas was absolutley amazing and very knowledgable of the area. We saw Sintra through different angles and a local persepective! He made sure that we had the best views and was very accomodating to anything that we requested. Especially our hunt for Icecream for our 7 year old daughter. He spoke in great detail of the historical landmarks, made sure that we captured all the best angles for our photos, and made our experience fun and memorable! We ended up hiring the company again as we enjoyed our experience soo much and Tomas made our trip in Portugal absolutely amazing! We requested for a wine tour for our second excursion. It was nice to know that they were able to cater to our needs and requests as we had booked our second excursion last minute. We visited Bridge Vasco da Gama, Palmela Castle(AMAZING VIEWS) Arrabida, Tile Factory(Which was amazing to see how the tile work is done), Sesimbra(Which is a hidden gem and we left super stuffed from amazing seafood with an amazing view) and lastly visited Christ and crossed the golden bridge. They were jammed packed days but it was AWESOME! On the end of our second tour, Tomas went above and beyond for our daughter surprising her with an easter egg hunt! This made us sooo happy and especially our daughter! It was totally unexpected and such a special treat! I highly recommend them and our guide Tomas. April 2019 when we book a 2 days tour with WonderVan and Tomas was our tour guide. Everyone was pleased with Tomas how professional and knowledgeable he was with his work. Best way to see Sintra with a local. I had a private tour with car transportation, fast lanes for tickets for Sintra attractions and also had the chance to discover Cabo da Roca and Cascais in a day. Tomás is very friendly and helpful giving you all the information to learn about the Sintra and Cascais regions.

We hired Alex from Wondervan in Sintra to give us a private tour of Sintra and the surrounding areas. I cannot say enough about our WONDERFUL DAY. My mom and I had a rainy (but very beautiful) tour day in Sintra with Tomás. Having Tomás for your guide is like having a local friend who took the day off from work to hang out with you! Through Wonder Van we booked the completely new tour Mountain & Ocean Wonders which is a total recommendation from our point of view! The tour is really versatile with e-biking through gorgeous Cascais and jeeping around the Sintra-area with stops at the most important sights (e.g. Cabo da Roca, Pena Palace) . We spent almost a day instead of 2 to 3 hours that we had thought. As we had no plans we took the wonder van with Alex as our driver. He was fantastic! He was knowledgeable and caring. While he waited outside the castle he constantly checked if we were ok. As we were running out of time, and didnt want to wait in long que for one of the sites, he was kind enough to take us to the shore which was pretty far and not part of the deal. We had booked a 1 day tour to Sintra. Our guide Tomas was really good at understanding our requirements and preferences. He made sure at no point we were uncomfortable. He took us to beautiful spots in Cascais that we wouldnt have explored if we were on our own! It was a memorizing and mesmerizing trip! We had hired an open jeep which was very well maintained. We were traveling with a 5 year old. The company was very cooperative to have found a way to get him onboard (he was allowed to sit in front on a booster seat)... So we were very happy!

We spent the day with Ruben. He is a warm and lovely person who was born in Sintra. Our group of 3 spent 4/5 hours with Ruben showing us the sites of Sintra. It was like hanging out with a knowledgable friend. Even if you have a rental car DONT DRIVE IN SINTRA! There is no place to park and the traffic is crazy on the narrow road. Ruben shared with us what it was like growing up in Sintra and his favorite things to do and see. At the end of the day he left us with a gift of his favorite Sintra Cheesecake and a wine tasting wich was the top of our day. A truly lovely day.

With little time in Sintra, we chose Wonder Vans to visit the area with a local guide. We had Alex as our guide. His pride and knowledge of the area made our tour most enjoyable. We visited Pena Palace and Quinta da Regaleira. He quickly secured tickets and shared with us the history of these two palaces. DO book a private van tour to Sintra. This is the way to do a day trip to Sintra during the busy summer months. DON T take public transportation to Sintra and wait in the long lines for the buses and trains. Especially if you have children. Our driver/guide of the day was Alex. He is young, enthusiastic, and knowledgeable about Portugal s history and architect. He also was very mindful and considerate that we had a baby. Your driver picks your group up in front of your hotel and then asks you which places in Sintra you really want to visit. Realistically you only have time for 2 palaces in Sintra if you also want to do a combined trip with Cascais and the lighthouse. Tip: Buy tickets online in advance to only see the outside of Pena Palace, because the line to get inside was insanely long. The outside of the palace is the most beautiful. If you wait in line to go inside Pena palace, then you won t have time to see anything else in Sintra. We then went to Quinta da Regaleira which ended up being the highlight of our Sintra trip. The well and garden is truly unique. The ticket line was also long, but this is when having a tour guide pays off. They have special badges that allows them to skip the line and buy tickets for the group. This will save you so much time because Quinta da Regaleira does not have online ticket sales. Alex was the best guide! Loved how he stopped at less known photogenic spots off the road that had sweeping views of Pena palace and Moorish castle.
