Tuvimos una mejor experiencia en Tavira gracias a Marias Tuk Tuk. Es la mejor idea que pudimos hacer, nos dieron muchos detalles muy interesantes sobre Tavira y nos atendieron genial a toda la familia. Viajamos con dos niños pequeños y fue genial.

La duración del tour perfectamente ajustada, el guía, João, majísimo y la ruta, interesantísima. En especial, agradezco la vocación de João. Nos explicó toda la historia con detalle, nos hizo una breve y rigurosa descripción de las fachadas principales y su estilo arquitectónico, nos llevó a las salinas aledañas al pueblo e incluso probamos la sal artesanalmente tratada.

Superbe balade en tuk tuk électrique avec Claudia, notre guide tres agréable, souriante, parlant un très bon français, donnant beaucoup dexplications très intéressantes pendant la visite. Je recommande vivement cette excursion. Très bon échange en amont via WhatsApp pour obtenir des renseignements sur lorganisation et surtout très appréciable Claudia est venue nous chercher et nous a ramené à notre vehicule stationné au parking (gratuit) recommandé par le prestataire. We did this activity (Sunday, July 30, 10 a.m.) and we loved it. It is a great way to get to know Tavira and reach the most remote places. João picked us up and dropped us off at the hotel and gave us a lot of information about everything. Without a doubt I recommend it 100%

Tremendous tour of a lovely city. Tour guide was very friendly and knowledgeable and takes great insta-worthy photos of you. An absolute must for anyone visiting.

João gave us a wonderful tour of the Tavira and Ria Formosa area. We learned about the salt pans and he took us to the factory to buy locally produced, artisan sea salt. He took us to the village of Santa Luzia where he showed us octopus traps and boats. He identified local birds and plants. João is very knowledgeable and friendly. We had a lovely afternoon in his care. Recommend!

Great experience in Tavira Ive been going to Tavira forever but Ive seen and learned a lot of new things about the city. Suitable for children too

We went on the City & Tapas Tour and we were blown away by how much fun we had! The tour took us to places in Tavira we would never have walked by, the in depth history we were told about just added to the whole experience and any questions we had were answered. The salt pans were beautiful with all the flamingoes and other birds relaxing in the water. Our tour guide was a lot of fun and really made the whole experience feel relaxed and fun, rather than very rehearsed and formal like a lot of yours may be. Finally, the tapas at the end was the cherry on top of a fantastic time. We got so much food included in our tour price! It was all delicious. Tolle Tour, toller Führer Juao, Danke! Wir fuhren durch die Salinen, wo wir viel Neues über die Salzgewinnung lernten, Flamingos und viele andere Vogelarten beobachten konnten. Ebenfalls intressant war die Fahrt durch Santa Luzia und der Besuch des Fischerhafens. Wir würden die Tour sofort ein zweites Mal buchen..Sehr zu empfehlen.

Claudia was a fantastic guide! She showed us to the castle and both sides of the river , while giving us interesting facts about the history of the city and recommended other places to visit and eat. It was a great way to see the city of Tavira at a very reasonable price for a 1hr30mins private tour. Would recommend!

We booked this as my partner has difficulty walking and this was truly amazing tour of Tavira. We were taken all over Tavira and the historical information given to us was really informative, I would recommend to anyone as the Tuktuk can go to places that cars and the land train cant go and the really cool thing was the Tuktuk is electric which meant it was really quiet as well as eco friendly. We asked for recommendations for a restaurant at the end and he took us to fantastic local portugese restaurant. Dont hesitate to book this tour as you wont be disappointed also forgot to say he even picked us up from our hotel.

A really excellent tour, very informative and the tuktuk takes you down narrow cobbled streets you wouldn t have thought to explore. Joao the guide is really knowledgeable and we learned a huge amount about the history of the different places on the tour. The part of the trip out to the salt pans was beautiful and we saw flamingos as well as other birds. We finished up with a delicious meal of tapas at the Ti Maria restaurant- worth a trip by itself!

This was a fantastic tour! Joao is very knowledgeable, funny, witty and makes the tour a lot of fun. Since we were moving here I had done a lot of research, but I learned a LOT about Tavira from Joao! One of the many benefits of this tour as opposed to some of the others is that a Tuk Tuk can go places other vehicles cant, so we got to see a lot of out-of-the-way places that we otherwise never would have. I highly recomment Joao and Marias Tuk Tuk! We will definitely take another tour with him soon!

Marias Tuk Tuk! A must do experience. We booked 3 tours with João. His expertise, local knowledge and love to his surroundings are a treasure! Tavira & Solar Boot. His tour of the historical town is spectacular, showing us happily Taviras hidden secrets. A must see ! A quick tour with the solar boat was very beautiful, relaxed and special ( A thanks to Hélio) Bird watching & Ria Formosa Again spectacular tour, giving us the inside outs of this special natural park. Tuna history- a very interesting part of Tavira, salt and nature of the Ria Formosa. Birdwatching of flamingos and rare birds of Ria Formosa was a high light but as well the talks of the salt history, a quick stop to buy some white gold, was happily arranged. St. Lucia A relaxed and great arranged drive with the Tuk Tuk. It is a comfortable journey to St. Lucia. Jo n brought us to the harbour to show us the traditional way of octupus fishing. Meeting fisherman at work, being gifted with sea treasures and seeing an olive tree as old as 2000 years. Ending this tour with happiness is in chocolate at iBelle. Joãn in our case, rearranged the tours, made them very special and memorable. A friendly and trustful family business of little Marias.

Prachtige tour door veel meer dan alleen maar de stad Tavira, ook de omliggende streek en zoutwinningsgebied werd aangedaan . Laatste stop in de tapastour was restaurant Ti Maria, wat ook waanzinnig lekker was! Mooie afsluiter! Enige reden om geen vijf sterren te geven was de dorst die we hadden tijdens de tour. Een tussenstop in een bar of café is bij warm weer zeker op zijn plaats.

The best way to discover the city and the nearby villages! The host was very friendly, at ease and kind! We would definitely take another tour with him to see more different spots. He knows a lot about the region and tells with passion. The tour took 3 hours and passed like it was only a second, it was so interesting! Het was een hele leuke ervaring. De gids gaf ook duidelijke uitleg in het Engels. We kwamen op verschillende plaatsen in Tavira met o.a het bezoek aan het tonijnmuseum en enkele mooie kerken en de zoutvlaktes. De gids nam zelfs de tijd om enkele fotos van ons te trekken op mooie plaatsen. Een echte aanrader!

Super Tour.!!! Joao hat uns so viele Details erklärt und ist durch die kleinsten Ecken von Tavira mit uns gefahren bis zu den Salinen. Das war interessant und spannend. Unbedingt empfehlenswert. Die 90 Minuten waren viel zu schnell vorbei. Am Ende gab es noch eine nette Überraschung, aber ich verrate eich nicht, was! Probiert die Tour!

Great out of 10. We got to know Tavira by tuk tuk, the children had a great time and we were able to enjoy a little of the history and customs of this city. With a walk through Salinas and flamingos included!!! The guide, Johan, super friendly and explained everything to us very well. Without a doubt a success to get to know the city.

We loved it! João is a fabulous guide, very professional and with a huge knowledge from Tavira and their historical places. He even took us to the Salinas, were we could bought a packet of salt directly from the producer! At the end of our tour he had a little surprise for us! The price is totally worth it! We advise pre booking at least one day in advance.

We had visited Tavira a few times in the past, but since my mom was visiting we decided to book Maria s Tuk Tuk tour of Tavira City. Our tour guide João was super informative, professional and friendly. We learned so much about Tavira s history, architecture, commerce. We also toured the Salt Pans and saw Flamingos! Particularly enjoyed the salt pans and seeing the bird life however the complete tour with João was superb. João was friendly, humorous and very knowledgeable about Tavira s history and architecture and pointed out many interesting features we would not have noticed. The Tuna village and museum, now a hotel, also worth a visit and certainly drives home the issues of over fishing. Bonus was a pick up from our hotel as we were central, the tuk tuk air con and a drop off at one of the sights we wished to explore a little further. Highly recommend & worth every penny!!

Joao was an excellent guide and so informed about Tavira! He took us to places unique, and also showed us the amazing historical sites. He explained the history and made sure we were able to go inside and experience the beauty of the churches for ourselves. The salt flats were very interesting and he was willing to stop and allow us to get some gifts. He even made special arrangements for us to eat at an amazing Portuguese restaurant! You can t go wrong with this tour! He s the owner and operator of the Tuk Tuk, and he obviously loves what he does and loves his city! It shows! It was a wonderful day!!!

We used Marias Tuk Tuk for our Tavira orientation. As well as being an excellent way of seeing all of the major attractions of Tavira the tour was really informative. We learned so much about Tavira and its history, the Moor occupation, tiles, fishing heritage, etc. Our 3 hour customised tour included the salt flats and a special surprise. I cannot speak highly enough of our guides helpfulness and would not hesitate to recommend Marias Tuk Tuk. We thoroughly enjoyed our tour and would not hesitate to book another different tour in the future.

Foi uma experiência maravilhosa, daquelas que jamais te vão sair da memória e coração. Foi um passeio de 2h30m, onde no foi contado tudo ao pormenor por um guia espectacular o Sr. João. A mim e ao meu marido deixou nos a vontade de voltar para outro passeio mas com um tempo melhor e mais quente. Ver toda a cidade de Tavira e toda a sua beleza,sua história,as salinas e suas fases(contou todo o seu processo mesmo que as salinas estando vazias), o habitat natural da Ria, a história da junção das 4 águas. Joao holte uns in Tavira bei unserer Unterkunft ab und zeigte uns Salinen mit vielen Hintergrundinformationen zur Salzgewinnung, wunderschöne Landschaften und fuhr entlang schöner Obstbäume. Wir konnten sogar Mandeln und Feigen direkt vom Baum essen, da diese gerade reif waren. Wir können die Tuk Tuk Fahrt für einen Tagesausflug in Tavira nur weiterempfehlen!

Myself and my boyfriend did the city tuk tuk tour with Joao yesterday and it was great experience. We particularly enjoyed the salt pans which Joao explained the process in detail. Joao stopped off at the castle also and allows us some time to explore the grounds and gardens (get some great photos). Joao was very knowledgable about Tavira and went to great lengths to show us everything and ensure that we enjoyed the tour. At the end of the tour we were given a lovely keepsake photo. I would highly recommend this tour.

Wir haben die Tour Cabanas und Casela Velha ausprobiert. Es war toll. Joao hat uns sehr schöne Anekdoten zu allen möglichen Orten erzählt und uns vieles über die lokal wachsenden Früchte aufgeklärt. Besonders toll war, dass er sich auf uns eingestellt hat. Da wir schon oft on Tavira waren musste er uns die Basics nicht mehr erzählen sondern hat uns besonders schöne Geschichten erzählt. Danke für die kurzweiligen und spannenden 3 Stunden im E-Tuk Tuk. Wir kommen gerne wieder.

Jo o hat uns zuhause abgeholt zur Tour Caçela Velha und Cabanas. Da wir schon häufig in Tavira waren, hat er sich darauf eingestellt uns mehr als die Basics zu erklären. Los ging es, zuerst zu den Salinen bei den er uns den gesamten Prozess erklären konnte (Evaporation, Concentration, Crystillazation) und wir Flamingos sehen konnten. Dann in Cabanas bat er die Fischer und die Tintenfisch-Fangkäfige zu zeigen. Weiter ging es nach Caçela Velha mit einem wunderschönen Blick auf den Anfang der Ria Famosa. Auf dem Weg zurück nach Tavira erklärte er uns so viel... von Wasserknappheit (Streit der Golfplätze vs der Bauern um die letzten Wasserreserven), Anbau von Avocados, Maldeln, Feigen, Granatäpfel, Kork, Oliven, Johannisbrot etc. Wir konnten auch von reifen Bäumen auf dem Weg selber alles pflücken. Jo o hat uns seine Liebe zu Tavira und Umgebung vermittelt, war sehr engagiert und hat trotz 45 Min Überlänge nur die veranschlagten 75 für den 3 Std Trip verlangt. This is a fantastic tour! We really enjoyed touring the beautiful city of Tavira with Marias Tuk Tuks. Our guide was so friendly and full of knowledge about the city. We saw all the main sites and even made notes to go back to a few spots if we have time. This tour is a great way to see so much of Tavira and learn about the ancient history of the city. Our guide was so generous with time and knowledge and really personalised the experience. The tapas afterwards was delicious and we highly recommend this experience! We also loved the polaroid photo with the tuk tuk we got as a keepsake.
